Speaker 1 (00:00):
First date to follow up. William is on the phone
today for a first day follow up and he's getting
ghosted by a woman named Zoe. So in a few minutes,
we're gonna call her and see if she'll tell us
why she's ghosting him and maybe get him a second date.
But first, Liam, why do you think you're getting ghosted?

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Because my crazy ex won't stop screaming over.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Okay? Okay?

Speaker 1 (00:21):
Yeah here, so you're you think your ex is the
reason that you're getting ghosted.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Yeah, Like, the date was going good, but we were
at a restaurant and then my ex walked in. She
didn't see me, and I tried not to pay attention
to it, but you know that she was there. But
you know, I do think I was preoccupied, so might
have seemed like I wasn't listening to her. I think
it was a bit obvious because at one point she

(00:48):
asked if I was okay. I responded that it was fine.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
But so you're going there, so your date was trying
to check in to make sure that you are okay.
She didn't realize that your ex had walked in.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Yeah. No, she was being really nice about it and everything,
and I guess I was a little weirded out by
the fact that she was there, Right, so.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
You feel like you were just kind of preoccupied and
not really like listening to her and being like a
good date because you were just thinking about your ex.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Yeah. I was really distracted by it. And then when
I responded that I was fine but that my ex
was there, I don't know why, but I just started
saying that, and then I started crying and.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Yeah, okay, yeah, okay, So so yeah that that that
would be awkward if I started crying over my ex
on a first date.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
It would make me feel like you're still into your eye. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Yeah, so I think she thinks that exactly. That then
you know I'm not over and you know, I don't
know why I started crying, just kind of happened, and
she was really nice. But you know, if I was her,
i'd definitely be ghosting me. I just wanted to be
able to explain and see if I could maybe go
out with her again, just honestly think she's awesome.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
Okay, do you want to try to recover?

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Yeah? All right, Well Liam is on the phone and
he's getting ghosted by a woman named Zoe's. So we're
about to call her and see if she'll tell us
why she's ghosting him and maybe get him a second date.
But first, Liam, why don't you refresh our memory about
why you think you're getting ghosted.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
I really think it's because my ex won't stop screwing
me over. And you know, the date was going good
and I kind of got preoccupied after she walked in.
I didn't realize that, you know, I was going to
feel a particular way. And she asked if I was okay.
But when I responded that I was fine, my ex
was there. I started crying. And I guess she thinks

(02:52):
I'm not over something that you know, I definitely understand.
But i'd really like to go out with her again.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
That would all be very awkward. So we'll see if
we can help you out. Okay, I'm gonna dial her
phone number. Yeah, right now, here we go.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Hello, Hi, man, I speak to Zoe. Please.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
This is me, Hi Zoe, how are you? This is
a radio show. It's called The Jewel Show.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
Hi, zoey. I'm Nina. Hi, I'm Victoria and my.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
Name is Juble. So hi, have you ever heard of
the show before?

Speaker 2 (03:25):
No?

Speaker 4 (03:26):
Sorry, that's all right.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Yeah, that's all right, you haven't heard of it, now,
it's all good podcast. We do a segment on the
show that's called your First Date follow Up. So that's
where if you go out on a date with somebody
and then you end up ghosting them, that person can
email us to get you on the phone and find
out why you're getting ghosted. So we got an email

(03:50):
about you from somebody. Yea, his name is Liam, and
he's wondering why you're ghosting. Would you mind telling us.

Speaker 4 (04:04):
He's a psycho?

Speaker 3 (04:06):
WHOA what makes say that he's a psycho?

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Like?

Speaker 4 (04:11):
Uh, yeah.

Speaker 5 (04:12):
So he seemed, you know, nice at.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
First, sounded nice.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
I didn't get psycho vibes from him.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
Yeah, yeah, no, he seems nice.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
But yeah, there was just a few things.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
That he said that like I just I couldn't shake.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
Okay, Like I'm telling us what that was.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (04:40):
So we were, you know, talking obviously, making small talk
and getting to know each other, and he you know,
told I told him that my dad had just gotten
laid off, and.

Speaker 4 (04:55):
He responded by saying, that's so cool.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
Good for him, see your dad getting laid off.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
That would be very uncomfortable.

Speaker 5 (05:04):
Yeah, yeah, my dad getting laid off good for him.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
That is a weird response to that.

Speaker 5 (05:12):
Yeah, so you know, I'm sitting there like huh, all right,
so like we just you know, moved on to, like
I don't know, talking about something else, and then like
out of nowhere, he just said like I hope your
dad's not.

Speaker 4 (05:30):
Good because I want to beat him.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
Wait wait what what what he wants?

Speaker 2 (05:36):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (05:37):
I literally have like no idea why he would want
to like beat up my dad?

Speaker 3 (05:44):
Like what the heck?

Speaker 4 (05:47):
Yeah, I'm just like not sure you know what's happening.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
And even if he has a logical explanation what.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
I mean, I don't know what he could say that.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
Well, I mean like.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
That's pretty mussed up.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
Yeah, well let's ask him, because Liam is actually on
the phone listening and wants to talk to.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
You, sir. Hello, Hello, Zoey Hello.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
You acted like a complete psycho, like who says that.

Speaker 5 (06:29):
You're glad my dad got laid off from his job
and that you want to beat him up?

Speaker 3 (06:35):
As a question, I.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
Am so so sorry about.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
That, Like why would you say that? Liam?

Speaker 2 (06:46):
Honestly, I just I was really distracted when my ex
showed up and I was not being present at all,
especially just random times throughout the conversation.

Speaker 4 (06:57):
Why would you rejoice over my dad laid off? And
like I want to beat him up? I don't. I
don't understand where that would come into play.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
What do you have against her dad?

Speaker 2 (07:08):
No, When I was distracted and everything you and when
you said that your dad got laid off, I thought
that you had said that your dad plays golf, and
so I responded saying.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
Logical explanation. But how he wasn't paying attention because he
was distracted. I've been in this situation, That's why are you.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
No, I just I misheard some words, and like, you know,
I really liked you, and I was thinking how cool
it would be if I got to meet your dad
and you know, go play golf with him at some point.
And so that's what I meant when I said I
would beat him. I wanted to give him at golf.
I didn't want to beat him like with my fists

(07:54):
or anything like. Wow, I'm really really.

Speaker 5 (07:58):
Sorry, Okay, I mean that's that's the first for me.
I guess I'm glad.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
That you didn't want to beat my dad. After the day,
I even called my dad on the.

Speaker 5 (08:15):
Way home to tell him that when he needed to
watch out for you because the psycho and trying to
fight my dad.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
Well, Zoe, would you like to go out with Liam
again now that you know he doesn't want to assault
your father.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
We'll pay for it, I mean, yeah, I.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
Don't give him another chance.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
Yeah, yes, thank you very much, Like I really do
appreciate it. I hate making bad first impressions. I'm great.

Speaker 5 (08:44):
Now I have to call my dad and tell him
that I'm going out with the psycho.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
I guess

Speaker 5 (08:53):
First date fall
