Speaker 1 (00:00):
First Date follow Up powered by the Advocates Injury Attorneys
online at advocatesla dot com. Taylor is on the show
today for a first date follow up, and she's getting
ghosted by a guy named Jake. So in a few minutes,
we'll call him and see if you'll tell us why
he's ghostinger and maybe get her another date. But first, Taylor,
how long has it been since you talked to Jake?

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Hi, it's been sick, Dave.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
That's terrible. Almost a week.

Speaker 4 (00:26):
It felt like forever though, guy, Like, I'm like freaking out,
it's been freaking out.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
Yeah, it's the worst feeling. Okay, so stupid.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
It makes me feel so stupid.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
No, not stupid.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
Yeah, that's not your fault. That happened, you know, Unfortunately
it happens. But we'll see we can figure out why.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
We don't know. It's not your fault. But we'll tell
us about the date.

Speaker 4 (00:47):
Well, so we actually met at a mutual friend's birthday
party and just from that, Like, that wasn't our first date,
but that whole night I think I spend the entire
night talking to him. I barely even said happy birthday
to my friend. But we were just in the kitchen,
like making stupid jokes, and that kind of led to.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Us talking the entire night, and.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
I just had a really great time since then, and
I haven't.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
Really felt that in a long time.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
And so we we planned a date and then we
got ramen and we walked around the park and it
was like exactly like the moment that we met.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
What do you think could have gone wrong?

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (01:32):
So I do think it is my fault actually, and
I feel like it's the I mean, I'm a clumsy person,
but this is like the worst thing that I've ever thought.
I think it's very embarrassing. So you know that, you
know when you like check in with your best friend
in the middle of the date and you just give
them like the you know, the chext, it's like okay, uh,

(01:55):
we're your advives are good or whatever whatever.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
Yea.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
So it's so so actually, I uh, I did send
that text to him instead of let me just read
it to you. Okay, so he said, I said, he's cute,
but if he says vibes on ironically one more time,

(02:19):
I might come bust.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
Were kind of a joke. It was kind of a
joke because.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
It was actually I was going to tell her later
that that was actually like an inside joke between like
me and Jake that we were.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Because we were talking like we were being like bros.

Speaker 4 (02:35):
I don't know, we were just pretending to be bros
and doing all this stuff, and so it was kind
of a funny thing to me that I was just
going to tell her about later. And then, uh, yeah,
I sent that to him, and then reading it back,
I'm like, oh, that actually sounds like I actually am
making a dig at him.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Or something, and that's not all what it was. Oh
my god. But yeah, so I sent that to him.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
What did he say when he got it? Like did
he call you out? Like did you just make a message?

Speaker 4 (03:04):
Or I didn't know he didn't see it because like
I sent it while we were still on a date,
and so I mean, he's such a sweetheart, Like he
didn't even look at his phone the entire date, so
he didn't even see it until after we had already
parted ways. And I don't know, Like the date, I
did so well, we kissed and yeah, we made that
plan to meet again. And then after after the date,

(03:26):
that's when I.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
Saw that I had Oh, oh my gosh, I'd be
freaking out.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
Well, oh, no, Taylor is on the phone and she's
getting ghosted by a guy named Jake. So we're about
to call him and see if it tell us why
he's ghosting her and maybe get her a second date.
But first, Taylor, why don't you recap your situation for
us real quick?

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (03:46):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (03:46):
Well, six days ago, I went on a date with
a really cute guy that I really like a lot,
and he made me laugh so much, which never happens.
But during the date, I had sent a text that
I meant to send to my best friend. Accidently spent
that to him, and the text may have seemed like
a dig at him, and it was supposed to be
a joke and he wasn't ever supposed to see it.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
I think that he may have taken it.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
I feel that secondhand anxiety for you. Yeah, well, I know,
we'll see if that is the reason. Are you ready
for us to call him?

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (04:21):
All right, here we go. Hello, Hi, masking to Jake. Please, yay.

Speaker 5 (04:30):
This is Jake.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
Jake. Hey, how you doing? This is the Jebel Show.
It's a radio show. What's up, Jake. My name is Nina. Hi,
I'm Victoria I'm jubil How are you good?

Speaker 5 (04:40):
Good?

Speaker 6 (04:41):
How are you good?

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Do you listen to the show?

Speaker 5 (04:44):
I don't.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
I don't listen?

Speaker 5 (04:46):
No, not actively?

Speaker 1 (04:47):
All right, well, no worries. The reason we're calling you
today is because of a segment that we do do
on the show.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
Sorry about that.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
You should really listen because that's that's the high caliber
of stuff you get on the show.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
You know, it.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
Was funny to meet too because Doo doo Victoria. Any gosh,
I'm sorry.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
We do a segment on the show called the First
Day follow Up. That's where if you go on a
date with somebody and then you end up ghosting them,
that person can email us and get you on the
phone to ask you why you're ghosting. So we got
an email about you from somebody.

Speaker 5 (05:25):
Yeah, this is is that Taylor?

Speaker 3 (05:28):
Is it Taylor?

Speaker 7 (05:29):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (05:30):
It is Taylor. You knew that fast.

Speaker 7 (05:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Do you have a few minutes to talk to us
about it and tell us why you're ghosting?

Speaker 3 (05:37):
Totally?

Speaker 5 (05:37):
I'd love to. Okay, So my roommate got a VR headset.
You know, you put them on your like go to
you can play games.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
And yeah that's cool.

Speaker 5 (05:49):
Yeah they're crazy, but like and I've never used it before,
so I kind of got like really really addicted to
virtual reality Ping pong. Oh, and I've been going crazy
in it. And I stood too close to the corner
of this wall and fractured my wrist as I was playing.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
Oh you fractured your wrist playing VR.

Speaker 5 (06:18):
So it's okay, I mean it's stupid. I feel so
stupid about it. And now like because I fractured it,
like it hurts the whole my phone, like my phone
sitting on my desk right now, and I'm just speaking
into it. I I can't type, I can't text, I
can't I can't play virtual reality Ping pong, I can't
do anything.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
So yeah, okay, well.

Speaker 5 (06:38):
It's just tough. But so like I'm trying to I'm
trying to like verbialize my text, you know, and and
like speak them out so that SERI picks them up.
It comes out like vibes are snorting and Brahmin's destiny
and like it doesn't make sense.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
Okay, So because you hurt your wrist, you can't communicate
with people.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
I can't feel dumb, okay on a.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
Okay, that's why you're ghosting a little bit.

Speaker 5 (07:03):
Because like I don't know how to it's trust in
when I can't text it, and I don't know how
to be like.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
Hey.

Speaker 5 (07:09):
You because my virtual reality ping.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
Pong all of you guys hit it off like you
think you did. I don't know that she'd think it
was dumb.

Speaker 5 (07:20):
Maybe she thinks, yeah, I guess maybe I didn't really
think about that.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Can I say something? Can I say something?

Speaker 1 (07:28):
Yes, you can, Taylor, she's been on the phone listening.

Speaker 6 (07:33):
We would, Yeah, Taylor here, Yeah, Oh my gosh, oh
my gosh, Like I just I thought I totally humiliated myself.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
I've been spiraling for the past six days. But you
you've got a VR ping pong wrist injury? What? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (07:56):
Yeah, yeah, kind of.

Speaker 5 (08:00):
I'm so sorry. No, I didn't think that's.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
So random and adorable. But also like it's been six
days and I thought that you hated me with.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
There right now.

Speaker 5 (08:14):
I don't hate you, I literally I could. I could
never hate you.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
That I was like really happy.

Speaker 5 (08:21):
That that we met and beating myself up that I
feel like I can't just like be an adult and
just do the adult thing and tell you I broke
my wrist playing ping pong.

Speaker 7 (08:34):
That I was like I was the ping pong with you, Jake.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
I play that with me, you know once once your field.

Speaker 5 (08:50):
I mean, I can just swap to my left hand
and is right.

Speaker 3 (08:53):
Okay, we probably shouldn't your left hand. Otherwise she's gonna
get even more mad. You could have texted with your
left hand and.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
I can't.

Speaker 5 (09:03):
I can't.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
No, I don't know, guys, Jake, he's a very cute human.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
Okay, well that's Jake. Would you like to go out
on another date with Taylor? We'll pay for it?

Speaker 5 (09:17):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
OKAYO, well Taylor, congratulations, yay, thank.

Speaker 2 (09:23):

Speaker 3 (09:25):
