Zoe was convinced she knew exactly why Benji vanished after what felt like the perfect first date. The chemistry was there, the goodnight kiss happened, and everything seemed headed toward date number two—until he suddenly disappeared without a word.

When The Jubal Show tracks him down for a First Date Follow Up, Benji reveals a reason for ghosting that sounds so unbelievable, nobody on the call knows whether to laugh, cringe, or call him out. Is it a ridiculous excuse, or did something truly bizarre happen after their date?

Speaker 1 (00:00):
First Date follow Up.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
It's time for your first date follow up.

Speaker 3 (00:04):
And Zoe is on the phone today and she's getting
ghosted by a guy named Benji. So we're about to
call him and see if he tell us why he's
ghosting her and maybe get her a second date. But first, Zoe,
why do you think you're getting ghosted?

Speaker 1 (00:17):
I think he's done someone to hook up with after
our date.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
Wait, really, what so you think that after he was
done on your date, like the same like right after
he went and hooked.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Up with someone.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Yeah. So we met of hint and we went on
a date. It was like a really nice date. We
went for dinner. He walked me back to my car.
He was like really a gentleman, and then we have
started kissing when we got to my car. But I
had this like five date through where I don't feel

(00:52):
comfortable being physical with someone before we have had five dates,
So I told him about like that nothing else was
going to happen after that kiss, at least that night
he was I felt he got a little like said back,
but he he was okay with it. He gave me

(01:14):
a kiss on the cheek, opened the door for me
and we left. We took different ways in that moment.
But then I was hoping like he follow up for
a second day. But no text, no calls, nothing, hmm.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Okay. And so but to you, that says that he
hooked up with somebody, you.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
Think, well, I think he must find someone else if
he was like not interested after having kidden it.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Okay, And you think you turned him up off because
he didn't want to wait, uh huh, you don't want
somebody like that anyway.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Yeah, well we'll see if that is the reason. Zoe
is on the phone and she's getting ghosted by a
dude named Benji, and we're about to call him right
now and see if he'll tell us why he's ghosting
her and maybe get her a second date. But before
we do that, Zoe, why don't you refresh our memory?

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Oh? Why do you think you're getting ghosted?

Speaker 1 (02:07):
Okay? So I met this guy on him, They went wonderful.
We kissed before we went to our own places, and
then I told him about my five the day two
where I don't feel comfortable with being physical with someone
before we go on five days. And after that I

(02:27):
did not hear anything about him, Okay, Like he didn't
call he didn't text be so crappy.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Yeah, I didn't want to wait five days. All right.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Well, I'm gonna call him right now and we'll see
if you tell us why he's ghosting you.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Here we go. He thanks, Hello him, I speak to Benji. Please. Yeah, yeah,
this is see Hey Benji, how are you? This is

Speaker 4 (03:07):

Speaker 2 (03:09):

from one of our listeners.

first Date follow Up. That's where if you go out
on a date with somebody and ended up ghosting them,
that person can email us to get you on the
phone and find out why you're ghosting them. And we
got an email about you from somebody named Zoe.

Speaker 4 (03:43):
Yeah, okay, yep, okay.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Okay, Hey you mind telling us why you're ghosting Zoe?

Speaker 4 (03:52):

Speaker 5 (03:58):
But I've I've been in the hospital for for swallowing
my my invisile line.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
What you swallowed? You're in how why?

Speaker 5 (04:12):
So?

Speaker 4 (04:12):
So?

Speaker 5 (04:14):
So I was at the movies with my my buddy,
and I took the invisile line out because you're not
supposed to eat him in.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
And it ended up in my popcorn.

Speaker 5 (04:22):
And then I was throwing handfuls of popcorn in my
mouth and I ended up well, I ended up chomping
on the invisile line, choked on it, and I swallowed.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
I swallowed the invisile line. Yeah, very I mean now indeed, yeah,
I had to go. I had to go to the hospital.
I've been in the hospital.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Are you right now?

Speaker 4 (04:50):
No? No, I am. I am out.

Speaker 5 (04:52):
But it is it has been a couple of days
of chaos and.

Speaker 4 (04:59):
O, this is embarrassing.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
You put it actually in the popcorn bucket.

Speaker 5 (05:06):
No, I mean, I that was a bad idea, but
I didn't want to put it in like that cup holder.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
And I was like, oh, this will be fine.

Speaker 5 (05:15):
So they monitored me and wanted to make sure nothing
serious happened, you know, so waiting for it to pass.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
Yeah, but you're good now yeah, I'm I am good.
I have to buy a new visial line.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
But okay, so are you gonna call Were you gonna
call her back? But then didn't because you ended up?

Speaker 4 (05:41):
Yes? Yeah, yeah, yeah, no I was.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
I was gonna text her.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
The next week. We had a great date. Yes, it
was a great date. We kissed, everything was, we had
a lovely time.

Speaker 5 (05:50):
I was going to text her, but then the next day,
I I don't.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
Know, something happened.

Speaker 5 (05:54):
I got a little busy and went to see the movie,
and then the visial line thing happened.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Kolla, no something piano?

Speaker 3 (06:05):
Hey, uh but Benji, Benji, that's Zoey. She's actually on
the light listing and wants to talk to you. And
I have no idea. What what did you say?

Speaker 2 (06:13):
Zoe?

Speaker 1 (06:14):
That doesn't make any sense? How can you peep an
in diesel line in your throat?

Speaker 3 (06:26):
That?

Speaker 1 (06:26):
Hi?

Speaker 4 (06:27):
You're right? That that it does it?

Speaker 1 (06:30):
I don't know if that cry I am?

Speaker 5 (06:37):
I am so, I'm I don't know if I'm more
sorry or more embarrassed.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
Okay, it's not it's not not what that history?

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Okay, Zoe?

Speaker 4 (06:52):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Sorry? What what did you just say?

Speaker 1 (06:56):
Do you think I'm dumb like that doesn't make any sense.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Okay, so you think.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
See does.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
I don't think she believes you, Benji.

Speaker 4 (07:12):
Zoe, I'm gonna u. I I wish that this was
a lie. I wish I could make this up. I will.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Okay, you know, I'm.

Speaker 5 (07:21):
Gonna text you a picture actually of the X ray
they took my esophagus. I guess I really I really
wish this was going to be a I.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
Think you're gonna do ai, Benji.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
Well, how about this? If you how about it?

Speaker 5 (07:45):
If you let me go on another I will show
you my hospital bracelet.

Speaker 4 (07:49):
Okay, I still haven't Zoe would real?

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Okay, So Benji, would you like to go on another day?

Speaker 5 (07:54):
Was?

Speaker 3 (07:54):
Zoe will pay for it? It was a bit if
you bring your hospital bras along.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
I really, I really would. I really would like.

Speaker 5 (08:02):
And you know what, I I don't have to worry
about swallowing my invisiligne because I don't have one anymore.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
So I can eat wherever you want.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
So you gotta at least see the bracelet. Go see
go see the proof.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
So the rule that I told you about of not
getting physical before five days have nothing to do with it.

Speaker 4 (08:25):
No, no, no, Oh my gosh. No, not not at all.
I'm no, I'm sorry you even thought that.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
No, yeah, I thought you were ghosting me because of that.

Speaker 4 (08:36):
No, Zoe guy, not at all.

Speaker 5 (08:37):
I am just an idiot who put his invisil line
in his popcorn bucket and ate it.

Speaker 4 (08:44):
Yep, that's all I am. All right.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
Way, congratulations Zoe, you got another date. I believe him.
I think you did do it without the smartest guy.
But you got another date.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
Okay, no more in this alliance anymore? Please?

Speaker 4 (08:56):
I mean, yeah, how could I not want to go
out with you again? You? You were even hot when
you were yelling at me in Spanish. That was That
was the Great.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
