Speaker 1 (00:00):
Winning an NBA championship with the Bucks was like something
that I don't know if you will ever be implicated,
not because of more championships, more champions might come, but
the specific one after fifty years, like we've seen the
whole city change in front of our eyes.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Welcome the game, recognized game. I'm Miles Turner. I love
your NBA vet set up in Milwaukee, Bucks, guys. My
co host Brianna Sewart she I called it to a
CBA beating. So it's just gonna be today. Hopefully she's
getting things ironed out and so we get this wa
NBA season rolling. But the show must go on today.
I got a very special guest. I'm joined here today
(00:42):
my NBA champion, two time Greekly champion, my teammate, my
brother to that's not the Tuper Man. Yeah yeah, yeah,
well chilling man. So you know it's funny, man. I
was on your analysis podcast to start the season. Man,
you really inspire hired me to step into the podcast world,
and you know we talked about it and manifested and
(01:04):
here we are. Bro. Yes, yes, I love it.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
I love it. It's I've watched a couple of episode
you guys are doing great and I don't even think
people really know like how much like it stops you guys.
Both of you guys can big, you know, to the
podcast world. So I'm excited about that absolutely.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Man. I appreciate it, and we cover a lot on
the show man obviously. Uh, the w NBA side is amazing,
unrivaled is amazing. We're gonna obviously gonna talk about that,
as I know you're in investor in that league, you
know what I mean. We're gonna talk to Ta today
about being a proud big bro, you know, and some
of the challenges that come with that as well, you know,
spearheading the family. Uh, we're also gonna go off the
court and scuts. Ta is veteran podcasts advice for me,
(01:39):
just to get it there. So yeah, man, we can
hop right into it. You don't mind, let's get to
it talk for me. Yeah, So your family made history
of this all season. I mean, I think it was
a beautiful thing you guys ought to experience together. You've
got three brothers all in the active roster for the
Bucks at the same time. Yeah, you guys also won
the bronze medal. Speak to the pride that you have
(02:02):
being you know, just the big brother in the family,
you know, spearhead and everything that's you know, going on
the hoop side of things.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Oh man, Like, Okay, when when it comes to the
basketball side, I'm so so proud of like my brothers,
Like they really work hard to play hard, you know,
like and really play without hunger you know, on the court.
So really proud of them. And then when it comes
to accomplishments, I'll be honest, just like a dream bro,
Like there is no award like I've never I haven't seen,
(02:27):
you know, like my mom's plays. I al say this
all the time. It's like a.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Museum, bro.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Like you go out there, you see like from Greek
League champions to NBA champion, rings, Lakers Bucks, you see
like bonds, medals from you know they like the FEEDBA
stuff like that. Uh you know all nbas Like you
see all kinds of awards. And he's really not only
(02:53):
but like and at least a legacy as well because
my dad used to be My dad used to be
a lot of like in love with like, uh the medals,
you know, you would always go to him, like whenever
we got home when young was giving him medal will
give him like the plies we want so right, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
That's dope, man, because I know both your parents are athletes, right,
your father played soccer and your mother she was a
high jumper, is that correct? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (03:15):
Yeah, long job like track, she did track, a high job,
long job. And like.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
That's some good jeans right there. Man, that's some great jeans. Bro.
You guys are having an amazing athletic family. So I'll
ask you, like one thing we ask all our guests,
you know when we come on the show is first
and foremost, what does game recognized game? What does that
mean to you? You know, it doesn't have to be
just hoops, just anything. What does the term game recognized
game mean to you?
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Oh? Game macognized game A lot of times means like
you recognize the struggles. You know what we go through. Right,
you see another athlete you were like, man, I know
the pressure. So in moments like that, uh it moments
when people win stuff like I've seen that with my
family and we understand when we win and you accomplished
something and awards that you see people like either you
(04:02):
know there in the the finals, the cry, like the
emotion comes out like I'm like, yeah, yeah, I know.
I g you feel it right now, you know, or
disappointment the same thing, Like, I understand what you're feeling
right now. Man. You you had everything. The whole world
was like on this, you know, So I do. I
do think like game recognized game being is that as well?
Speaker 2 (04:22):
I think it's one of the best answers you had. Honestly,
it was just so the past few shows you that
I resonate with that so heavy, man. Just I like
the word you said, struggle, man, because people don't realize, man.
They see the glitz and how glamorous of a lifestyle.
You know that we live just on camera, but they
don't understand the grind, the hustle and everything that goes
into being able to maintain that lifestyle. So I like that, man,
game recognized game. You recognize the struggle within someone and
(04:44):
just you know, the beauty, the beauty and the pain
and just everything that comes with this. That's great. I
like that answer. So, speaking of game, Okay, when did
you realize that you had game? You know, just in anything?
Speaker 1 (04:56):
When did you.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
Realize you had game in this hoop? Man?
Speaker 1 (04:59):
So I don't know, like if it was just hooping basketball, wise.
But like I remember when I was younger, I like
any like anything that was that had to do with
running and jumping and the ball and a basketball, Like
I was like crushing. I would be like top three,
if not top one, I would be like at least
top three because I would jump high, run fast. I
was just a little skinny kid, you know, like so
(05:21):
every everything I did, it was like about the agility
and you know, fast pace and uh fast towitch athlete
like just just crash it. And I remember I did
the volleyball as well, like when I was younger, nice
you know, soccer because my dad. But then I was like, okay,
I'm going to be athlete. Now it's in terms of
what kind of athlete. That was the only thing I
didn't do, what's football because I was important to state
(05:41):
so overseas.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
So yeah, that's hard. That's hard. That's hard, body, because
I mean you still embodied that even in your thirties. Now, bro,
just the way you do, the way you play, and
you know, we'll touch a little bit that later. So
you know you said you basically played every score with
the ball like bars you play and get in the family,
move away from like soccer and start playing basketball like
back in Greece.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Wow, this is a study. I mean, I think Giannis
has said this before study in another show podcast. So
I we played soccer to like thirteen and a half ish,
so kind of and we were and we were playing
the same team, and one day this coach just came
in and like you know outside called outdoor court, and
he was like, no, you should play basketball. Like look,
(06:26):
and I was skinny kid, but I would like leap
and just like you know, like like when I learned
how to do layups, I would do layups from the
freeball line like it was just athletic, you know, you
know what I mean. So he was like, no, I
think you should do basketball. And then I went and
I tried out for a team. I just practiced with
the team and it was the first time I saw
an indoor court ever. You know, we don't have that
(06:47):
this kind of facilities in Greece. So when I saw
that indoor court, I fell in love with it. I'm admittedly,
I was like, wow, this is indoors. I can't play
when it's not when it's raining, when it's cold, when
it's anything, I still play, you know, And I was like,
and then I just went for a month straight kind
of and I to be like, no, you got to
come back. I don't want to be here.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
And then he just and then he just followed me.
You know, man, that was it.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
That was it. Yeah, okay, yeah, look at the genesis, man,
everything as it's as its beginnings. That's real.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
So you know you speak, man, I just see the
way you and Jannest you know roll like today. I
mean you you just you basically just alluded to it
right there that you know, y'all do pretty much everything together.
You know. I think you guys are and your other
brothers as well obviously when you're back home, you guys
have such a tight knit family and that's such a blessing. Man.
It's something that isn't really the case all the time,
you know here sometimes the American culture, like you know,
(07:38):
sometimes brothers don't really get along, you know, they go
these separate ways. You know. So how do you see
your role like in you know, your family today, Like
what is your role? I mean, you guys are obviously
both all the men. You know, you guys are your
because you have older brother as well.
Speaker 1 (07:50):
Right yeah, yeah, yeah exactly.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
But you're the again. I know you're the oldest when
it comes to the hoop, but just being the second
oldest or being one of the leaders, what's your role
like an anisoup of family today?
Speaker 1 (08:01):
It's changed throughout the years. You know, I was just
you know, one of the kids at some point when
I was younger, I was just one of the kids
and me and and be honest and closest to Alex
and and everybody. And then you know, growing up, I
was kind of okay, the example, like I got to
really do well. You know, I don't smoke, I don't drink.
I'm like really just because I know what it was like.
We always look at it for each other and copy
(08:22):
each other. You know, there's a you know, and not
only that. After that, you know, when my dad passed away,
I became just a different role of saying like Okay,
now I gotta I just gotta really look out like
I know, I want to you know, I want, I
want I had a lot of things that I want
to accomplish and I just want to want to do
and it's just I'm just blessed enough to be able
(08:43):
to do that with my brothers as well. So and
not saying like wow, if I want to go do
those things, I gotta go alone. It's a journey alone
like my old my brothers, who all my brothers understand.
You know, all my brothers love business as well, like
all my brothers love.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
Things I want to do. So I never had to
just like be like, oh, I got.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
To go this journey on my own because they don't
really like this, or they don't they're not you know,
they don't like uh, they're not accustomed to it, or
they don't have any interest in it. So I definitely
it's says throughout the role. But now like me here
and now it's just like just being a safety man,
just safety to my brothers that came confiding me. Be
there for them, you know, and uh, and as much
(09:23):
as I can try to give them the best, the
most the best values in general for life because you know,
my dad's not here now, so I try to as
much as I can because it's the most I've lived
with him, the most with him, so I try as
much as I can to instill some stuff.
Speaker 2 (09:41):
So yeah, that makes a lot of sense. So just
for me personally, bro, one of the first things I
did before I got you know, to the team because
I've always known you from Afar from a far and
competition whatnot, But I really want to get to understand
you guys more as dynamic. And I ended up watching
y'all's documentary on Amazon Prime. Okay, yeah, and what was
(10:01):
then even the beginning? Was it that the Marvelous Journey
or the Great Journey.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
Or uh so the you meant that Amazon Prime is
uh Marba's Journey? And then we have then we have
a movie that's based on our life. It's Rise, That's right,
the Disney plus one.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
Yeah. So I personally watched you know, the Marvelous Journey
and gots my viewers, my subscribers out here watching if
you haven't had a chance, like please tap into the
show man like it was actually such an inspiring thing.
But you don't have to like basketball like to fall
along with the show, because I mean, I just learned
so much about y'all's journey and how humble, such humble
beginnings y'all came from. But like y'all weren't after the
(10:36):
glitz and the glamour and like the lifestyle man, y'all
were genuinely trying to make a living for y'allself, man,
And you know that leads me to my next question.
It's like you play the game with such incredible passion,
you know what I mean, you also live life in
that same passion and that joy, And like where does
that come from? Bro? Because again, like that's not always
a case no here in this league. And bro, you've
(10:59):
been doing this for thirteen years. Man, it's been the
years and you are just you EI think you are
the perfect example or the epitome of you know what
you know this league should be, you know what these
guys should come by. So like what do you do
just to you know, maintain that joy?
Speaker 1 (11:12):
So you know, for me, the number one thing is
like I don't think I do understand this. And obviously,
like throughout every season it's a it's a it's a
season on basketball, great, but it's a new season in
your life as well, like you got to really evolve
and grow, right, And the other things that does help
me so much is really having this joy because you know,
(11:37):
a lot of times now nowadays, people don't really want
to show that they're happy. People don't really want to
show both because they want to add cool or kind
of like nonchalant and I say this all the time.
I'm like, you're not. This is not forever, this thing,
you know, this this this thing. They're playing in the NBA,
you know, playing in front of twenty thousand fans, either
in the NBA or uterally or play basketball or any
(11:58):
sport playing football. These people, it's not it's not an
everyday thing. And at the same time, you're blessed to
have hand friends, partnerships through all this, you know, like
if you build your tribe, you know, throughout this whole journey,
like this is more people. These people will hang out
with for life. So I do, like really like rely
on that for sure. And the other thing is my
(12:21):
mom and dad, you know, like they they are the
people who ah knowing or not knowing, they they just
helped us become this. You know, I like my dad
and my mom. If you something about that today, he
would be he doesn't say much. You don't just talk
about but just kind of like that you just said,
bro watching you know, like if the game is done,
(12:43):
that I loved you, you don't even say, like you
shot well, didn't shore good? Like unless he's things that
I need, unless he's like things that I needed, Like hey, man,
you know, like you keep going, so they really you know,
they they really still it's still listening to us and
I and we all them example, compared to other parents,
I think, compared to other people who their kids were
(13:04):
really successful in sports stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
Right, No, that's real, man, that's so dope. And I
know he'd be proud. Man, I know he's looking down
on you guys today. You're just proud, you know, just
you know what you guys have created, the legacy that
you guys are, you know, carrying on, So that's big.
And I guess the last thing I want to speak on,
you know when it comes to just the family aspect
of things is you know a lot of people aren't
very familiar with those journey. But you know, maybe some
of the fans of Wnba Sack who aren't as familiar.
(13:29):
You guys literally were came from selling stuff in the streets,
trying to support yourself, you know, it to where you're
at now. And yes, you may be a Greek culture,
but you're Nigerian, you know what I mean. At the
end of the day, you guys are immigrants coming into
another country, similar to kind of what's going on here
in America today, you know, I mean just trying to
make a living for yourself. So you know it's you
guys have to fight hard to do to be recognized
(13:52):
as Greek citizens, you know what I mean? You know,
like just speak a little bit to that, like you know,
I think again, people see you guys. You know, you
know nine Giannis as the Greek freak. There's a whole
other lineage that comes with it.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
You know what. And the the crazy part is that,
like I always say this all the time, right, is
that we come we come from two great cultures, right,
the one culture of like being Nigerian and like really
like the hushle in the DNA and you can make
it anywhere or like there is you see from doctors
(14:24):
to anywhere. You see it from athletics like you know
the aspala like that's that's in in the States and Europe.
And then we come from another culture with philosophy and
culture and just having you know, culture and spirit and
thinking in a way of like okay, how do I
have this not only I Phi lost with the story sism,
but like a different like a different culture as well.
(14:45):
So those two are a great mixed I don't know
how great mix for us. So we do have a
kind of a chip god there. But you know, like
you know, people discribe our story and how it is,
and some as I look back and even though at
the time it looked so so hot and I felt
(15:06):
so hot, I am so glad, so so glad my
life is this, you know, because that gave me a
different approach and a different appreciation for all of these
things up that came and it is to come because
I don't I don't get enamored by material things, you know,
(15:26):
I don't get enamored by like when I'm done things.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
I just love.
Speaker 3 (15:30):
I love the process. It's made us love the process
and the pressure, you.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
Know, like people people, Yeah, people kind of think like, okay,
it's pressure to you know, or they call you names
or say something about you or you're good enough, not
good enough or whatever. They you know what I'm saying,
this is the whole pressure around sports. But actually you've
never lived pressure until you feel like somebody you love,
you care about your mom or dad or somebody like
(15:55):
not be able to like really have something in their
life and really like and you want to do that.
But you're like ten years old, but you're like twelve
years and it's nothing you can do it. You got like, okay,
I got to put my own weight. I gotta I
gotta do whatever it takes, you know, and then you
get to this level and it's it's another day, you.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
Know, it's life. Yeah, that's so.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
Yeah, we do have. We did a lot of struggles
to like it. When it comes to you know, the
Greek and being Nigerian Greek, I say, I call myself
after European, so the way they say after American, I
call myself after your European. And and that we've made
another wave for another Afro Greeks and Afro you know,
Germans and Afro you know, like every other country. So
(16:37):
I'm glad about that.
Speaker 2 (16:38):
Great man, I appreciate you speaking on that. You get
a little vulnerable there for a second, because obviously that's
just again it's not easy, but it's also you said,
you're a pioneer, you know what you do? Yeah, bro
that yeah, man, switching gears a little bit. Man, this
is I wish we was here to talk about this
because obviously it's you know, it's it's grown so much
in the past year. Your original investor in the unrivaled league.
(16:59):
You know, why do you decide to get into it? Man?
Speaker 1 (17:02):
Let people know, Uh, okay, First of all, it's a
great business. That's gay life. Let's see on the business
side of it, it's a great business. Of course, it's
a great business. But let's go to even deeper. This
league had like so much potential. Why because he was
(17:23):
created by players in a cent degree, right, and everybody
and everybody was involved, made for players, right, and it's
constantly advised and evolved to the players.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
Right.
Speaker 3 (17:39):
That is always ever winning product and would always be.
Speaker 2 (17:43):
Okay, I like that breakdown.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
Yeah, So then it was this right timing, like look
at what happened now, Like it's the office in you
for the WNA and and everything, and you have unrivaled
like and that to let you know how much this
was needed, you know, like and again you said Stu
is like you know, negotiating and the and the and
then the cap kind of call with the salary cap
(18:05):
and everything that's going on with the back and forth
and the CBA. But look at how much leverage this
league is given is giving.
Speaker 2 (18:12):
Them to be able to put it.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
Yeah, to to to be able to compare numbers to
be able to sit down there. It's like, Wow, did
you see Barcley Center, Did you see Florida? Did you
see what's going on? Did you see you know, all
these formats and how much not only leverage has given them.
But as I said that, I could see in the future,
I could see the NBA coming in and saying, hey,
but we got you know on this, So yeah, I
(18:34):
could see that. I could really see like the NBA
coming in. I don't want to put to words in
anybody's mouth, but I can see the NBA coming in
and saying like unrivaled, you're one of us, Like we
want you integrated. Then make it, you know, file and
file whatever the case might be, et cetera. But this
is the game changed it because for the first time,
not only you know, like this is happening in the
in the women's sports, but like specifically basketball, it's now
(18:58):
becoming a staple and it's actually being supported and by
women so much.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
You know, there's the reason likes sports are so successful.
Speaker 1 (19:07):
It's not only because they do the ball that we
run and they spinning and they shoot. It's mostly because
you know, if I'm a fan of an athlete, I
will buy their jersey when I'm twenty, when I'm thirty,
when I'm forty, and when I'm fifty, and then I
will have my son by their jersey of their favorite player,
and then I have my grandsond by their jersey of
their favorite player. So it's just this constant generation of
(19:27):
building fun base and sports. And obviously you know there
is there is the other aspect of the the gladiator
kind of type that. Yeah, but we see that from
the women now too.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
Yeah, they be going at it. That's real. You know,
it's fun. I think we touched on this the other
day just in passing, like just you talk about the support,
the support of the leagues themselves. You know, you don't
really necessarily see a whole bunch of women supporting women
at w NBA games, and I think it's rare at times,
unless you're of course, at like the La Arena or
like a New York arena whatnot, where it's a show.
(19:59):
But at the tasme right games, you haven't, you know,
multiple celebrities come out. I mean, I think it's a
rated show. There's like there's a bunch of slaves that
are coming around and uh want to be a part
of the show itself, you know what I mean? And
I think it's easier to do that in a player
back to the league then it would be, you know,
a big organization like the WNBA. Man, what do you think.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
I'll give you numbers, and I don't want to disclose
any numbers because I don't know what's what's what, but
I would tell you it's grown at least four to
five times since the time we came in and invested
as well. So you so you can see the populata
has generated to the market value, because think about it,
it's a pie, right, and when you have the pie,
(20:40):
all these league like kind of take their place into
in this pie and saying like, hey, we own twenty
one percent of the market, thirty two percent of the marketphone,
I believe that in the year one and not going
to obviously year two. And if they have hold of
the owners and a lot of big portion of women's basketball, Wow, yep.
Speaker 2 (21:00):
Interesting, Yeah, it's he had the business man in case
I like, no man a man as a man of grinds,
many hustles, bru going on, So uh, what bit more
to you?
Speaker 1 (21:12):
Man?
Speaker 2 (21:12):
Work Switt years again, the NBA Championship with the Bucks
or this bronze medal you recently won at the Feople
World Cup. I think I already know the answer, but.
Speaker 3 (21:22):
I can't. I can't pay. I can't pay for those two.
But I can tell you what meant, what meant like
what each meant to me.
Speaker 1 (21:29):
I can tell you. So winning an NBA championship with
the Bucks was like something that I don't know if
you will ever be implicated, not because of more champions.
More champions might come, but the specific one after fifty years,
like we've seen the whole city change in front of
our eyes. We see the younger generation come out. I
(21:50):
remember it was playing the Hawks, and when we beat
the Hawks and coming back and people was lined up
and I could see like sea of people while we
were landing in at the airport and then coming back
being down too well by the way right, being down
too old to the Phoenix Suns. You cannot It was
like forty It was twenty thousand in and maybe like
(22:11):
thirty or forty thousand outside outside the score like and
imagine they were talking about Milwaukee, right, which people but
a lot a lot of times will say a small market.
But they I understand that they you know they try
to use always always this like a kind of pillar
of markets and blah blah blah. It was insane, right,
(22:32):
and that is something that you will never like, I
can never like remplicates, bro, I haven't I told you this.
Speaker 3 (22:39):
I haven't paid for for a meal like in years.
Speaker 2 (22:42):
Bro.
Speaker 1 (22:42):
I like, okay, I don't go out crazy, but I've
never went to the restaurant like still like to hey,
don't even please, thank you so much like for you
and your family, which you got, so it's something crazy especial. Uh.
And then going to the medal, be need a medal
with the with like Tiam Grease had two meetings for
me because one was I won the medal after coming
(23:04):
back out of my keys, so coming back was my
first that was my first official games we've been national
team and that was that was special. And then the
other thing was, you know, like I've been playing for
that team since twenty fifteen, and anybody who's played Fieba
like FIBA knows how hard it is to win in
those potat the top eight, the top six, like it's
(23:26):
so much impossible to win. And and we've always had
this problem because why because we're European teams. So European
teams compete against other teams, so we don't we don't
get to play. Let's say, like let's say team USA,
well play let's say Brazil and Australia, like we will
play Brazil as in our Mexico. Like there's three four
teams that you know play. We get to play against France, Slovenia.
Speaker 2 (23:49):
Hard teams right away.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
All the teams Serbia party like all these teams Germany
that there are super powers when it comes to basketball.
So among all of these teams to be able to
win something, it was, it's like special and they will
to do with my brothers.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
Of course, I went bro.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
I went out and I was taking out. I went
out in the morning and just went for a walk
and I would walk in and there would be people
in the balconies.
Speaker 2 (24:16):
Clapping, Oh my god, crap. I can't.
Speaker 1 (24:20):
I've been saying, like I cannot believe what you did
for our country and the kids, and they love us
even more. You know why, because of our story and
what could be, what could be totally different. We could
have disappeared, you know, like I'm going to perfectly hills,
you'll never see me, or I want to live here,
but we're leave in Athens. And for us for them
to see how much we would give back all the
time and be able to go into something and do that,
(24:42):
that was insane. So I cannot pick. I can't pick, bro, Bro.
Speaker 2 (24:46):
Yeah really the Beatles a real man, It's crazy. That's
get a basin of love. Because to your point, man,
you know, I got a chance of playing the World
Cup between nineteen actually played the Gastry guys, you know
what I mean. It was a tough competition, bro, But
like you know, Americans don't take it as serious as
you know you guys in Europe do, and so much.
(25:08):
You know, I would love to talk about this actually
just from my perspective when we're coming up and we're
growing up and whatnot. Man, Like you know, we're taught
so much about how America is number one, right, you
know what I mean? So when we win an NBA
World champion to us our world, like you know, you
win an NBA Championship, you're a world champion, you know
(25:30):
what I mean. I had this conversation before as well,
But like that's really all that matters, and that's all
that's publicized. That's all that's put in the media is
just that itself, right, because we're again we're taking for
since beginning of the time. We're number one.
Speaker 1 (25:42):
Bro.
Speaker 2 (25:42):
It's like, damn here in our textbooks, like when we're kids,
like America, we're number one. We're the greatest at everything,
and that is like instilled into our heads. There's a
lot of pride with being an American, but pride is
defined a lot differently in Europe and overseas or you
know what I mean. You guys have that same pride
for your country, but it's a different pride when it
comes from representing your country, you know what I mean
on this stage. So now an Olympic medal, of course,
(26:06):
that's that's a huge deal, you know what I mean.
That's everything. That's like the Grand Prize. But the World
Cup to us, it was almost kind of like an afterthought,
you know, because most of the times NBA players didn't
want to play because they were trying to save up
for the actual Olympics. It's like, why would I go
out there. It's getting hurt for the NBA season. Why
would I go out there? It's not the real gold medal,
you know what I mean. So, like you know, I
(26:28):
think the USA Basketball, the union itself here is trying
to change the narrative of that because obviously we were
getting our ass kick lately, you know what I mean,
in the World Cup. But overall, bro, I think all
the I guess, all the onus has been on the
Olympics as opposed to the World Cup. The World Cup
is almost taught as like the little brother like and
doesn't really mean as much, you know. And I think
(26:50):
that was on the middle generation of NBA players. A
lot of those guys were dropping out of the Vegas cams.
They didn't want to do it, you know what I mean.
I remember the year I played every superstar pulled out,
every single superstar says no, no, I'm not doing it. No,
we're gonna get beat anyway. So you know, I'm not
doing it. And I thought it was so crazy because
it me is like, shit, I'll do it, what the fuck,
(27:10):
like I want to in the country, you know what
I mean. I'm not sure I never get this opportunity again.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
You know.
Speaker 2 (27:14):
Actually I played with Brook Lopez, I played with Chris Middletown,
both those guys in that you know. So yeah, man,
I think it's just it's intriguing, you know. I think that,
you know, as as Americans and signs, we're almost too
prideful for our own good. But you know that's sets
up a clear path to get humbled, you know. And
that's what's happened in the past couple of times in the
World Cup competition. So yeah, man, I think it's if
(27:35):
I read a chance to do it, I would do
it again. I think it's a beautiful experience. I got
to see how prideful everybody overseas was. We are the enemy.
Everybody wants to take out to everybody's dream to do it.
Speaker 1 (27:46):
So no, man, because you guys have so much talent. Man,
you'n be dominating this this sports for like so long,
you know, And it's what you should about pride and stuff.
Like we literally go to war. They like they push.
It's not just like basketball, like we really go to war. Bro,
I it's a lot of motion into it. Like you
(28:07):
can tell, like people are different when they're playing national team.
I'm telling you it's.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
It's them, I can tell. Bro. That's awesome. All right, y'all,
it's sign real quick break. When we come back, we're
going to getting into a Ta's relationship with Giannis and
how they both deal with the pressure. And we already
talked about it. Man, the pressure is everything, you know.
I thank you. We already all that conversation to go. Man,
why y'all here? Man, please rate, review and subscribe to
(28:31):
Game Recognized Game with Stuwie and Miles wherever you get
your podcast. As a matter of fact, while you're here,
going to subscribers. Now it's a show too.
Speaker 1 (28:37):
Man, appreciate appreciate you.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
Right, welcome back to the Game Recognized Game with Stuie
and Miles. And again, as I told you, guys, you
know Stuwie's currently you know, untalked right now, trying to
(29:03):
get the CBA under wraps. So it's just me and
Ta for the day and let's go and addressing man,
the nepotism question. You know, I'm sure something that's happened
quite a bit. People say, you know, you're on the
lead because of your brother. There's a bunch of always
on social media. You are thirteen years as a professional athlete.
You're still doing it, man, like when you need those
comments like what goes through your head?
Speaker 1 (29:24):
It's all news. First of all, it's like okay, it's all.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
That's why.
Speaker 1 (29:29):
Uh. The other thing that goes into my head is
just because a lot of times people like people want
you to leave their journey their way. They want you
the way they see.
Speaker 2 (29:41):
It, right.
Speaker 1 (29:41):
They be like, but you could be you. I've heard
this in the past, like you should go to another team,
you would play more like if you went to another
team that doesn't go for a champions you would have
a better at all if you went teas you did this.
And I always they all the time, I said, you
cannot make me do something I don't want to do.
This is my journey, this is my life, this your
this is this something. If it's something that you're you know,
(30:02):
you don't think it's for you, it's okay. But me,
I'm a very confident person. And at the same time,
there is a confidence because I know where I started from.
Like everything I do is successful. I know where I've
started from. So I see this as the roadmap. So
if I'm on point with my roadmap, why am I
Why would I let anybody else else influence the journey?
(30:24):
You know, I'm I'm gonna try to get whatever I
wanted to get. You know, I'll imagine it could image
this bro. Imagine telling somebody who has done a lot
of things that other people haven't done yet that and
want to experience, haven't experienced yet. Tell I'm like, no,
you should you should be doing this, you should be
doing that. But like it works out. So I don't understand,
(30:49):
and I do understand why it happens, because, to be
honest with you, a lot of people are they this
is what this and this is why I always say this.
I went to play against a kid store. I played
like with a kid that was just out playing and
we're in this camp and like he comes in and
(31:12):
blah blah. You know how kids are broll Sometimes kids
we think you get round that the cam they're like,
oh yeah, I can beat him or whatever.
Speaker 3 (31:19):
And it was this whole thing like oh I could
be ta or whatever.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
It was said. Any a player who say like, oh
I can beat this guy, I can beat that guy,
and my name came up back twice You're like, oh yeah,
I have to definitely beat that guy. So this kid, yeah,
listen to this. So the kids gets up, he's like, okay,
I'm playing and we started to play. You know, in
the beginning, like you know how it's cam Bro. You
let this kid score, you let whatever, let him score.
(31:44):
He scored one time. Then he started like, oh yeah,
don't you like he did that? And he I don't
know what he said. And then I didn't let him
score it again, and and then and then you know,
I went there. I scored once twice. I scored like
ten points straight something like that. And every time I scored,
I made a comment. So I was scored the first time,
I'm like, oh, I'm actually fast. And I was scoring
(32:07):
another time and I backed him down, turn around dunk
and I was like, I'm stronger. So then so I'll
I'll keep going, keep going. The last comment and I scored,
I said wow, and you want to and this is
this is the thing. He kept saying, I'm going to
be the NBA and said that. I said, wow, you
want to go to the NBA. And you can't be
even bet the worst of us. I told her that
(32:28):
because it was so humbling. Oh yeah, and I'm the
worst one. You can't even beat me. And this kid
Bro sat down, you know, and I could see Bro.
Everybody was there.
Speaker 2 (32:39):
He was in the corner.
Speaker 1 (32:40):
And then I went and just put my hands and
I was like, hey, listen, I said. The reason I
told you all these things it's for you to understand that.
Don't get fooled by what the journey is. The journey
is not for you to be flashy, for not for
you to talk the game to go. It's for you
to when you step in and the popcorn is popping,
to to be able to do this. And people don't understand, like, wow,
(33:03):
this kid has something expression. It doesn't matter if you
can make shuts, don't make sud You're here for a reason.
That's why I always say, and I've taught some people
with that. I've cots some people lived with that, because
that's why you see some highlights sometimes down because sometimes
people just oh yeah, let me just relax. And I've
caught some people with that. And the reason is because
for some reason, like people don't understand, you know none,
(33:28):
they don't understand. They try to justify for the wrong
reason why some people are in the spot they are.
So they go like, oh, he's there because of this,
or he's there because of that, or he's there that's
your opinion. It might be. But when you step on
the court and you realize, like, oh, Okay, this guy's
oh yeah, this is this guy Shop said, this guy
plays hard, or this guy is like a great teammate.
(33:49):
Like this guy Saerebrale knows the game. He you know,
he slash the coach slash like he understands, like you know,
all these things. Then he puts you in a different
like mentality. And that's why I always say to everybody
who's playing and everybody's coming in, like this is the
way you have to see it. You know, this generation
is actually going extinct. It's more like all the flashy,
(34:10):
all the talk, the talk and not playing, and it's
going towards extinction. The saying like hey, I'm here and
I do everything that I weigh and I do everything
that way on and off, not just on the court
and off the court.
Speaker 2 (34:20):
So yeah, okay, yeah, I think that that's actually a
great answer.
Speaker 3 (34:26):
Man.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
I think that you I like the story about the
kid Man because there's a lot of guys on the
internet that are just we'll say that it's like oh
he sucks and he's just this, and that I could
beat him. But don't you realize you don't realize what
it takes to step in between these these lines and
ninety four feet man is different, you know, and I
think a lot of that people just project their insecurities
obviously through social media and you know when they talk
(34:48):
out there. But you know the other side of it, man,
it's like you are genuinely loved as like a guy
in this league. Man. You know, you hear the cheers
and the class at vizor B will be on the
road and people are asked for you to get out
there because I mean they know, well, they just say,
know how hard you go, man, They know like they
know your spirit, they know how you know, how you
go out there and play. So I mean, I think
it goes beyond that.
Speaker 3 (35:06):
You but uh, I get my little stage ovation when
I when I come.
Speaker 2 (35:12):
In, oh for sure. But I'm it's more than sand ovation.
Boy may be rung for your.
Speaker 1 (35:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
So another thing that's old news Man at this point
now is like trade rumors and the controversy with Gianni's
all the time. That can't be easy for him, you
know what I mean. I think that he's someone who
he's an NBA champion. He's literally done every single thing
you could do in this league. He's a little guy.
You being the big brother man, like, how do you
(35:40):
how do you help him deal with everything? Because I
mean's he's gonna do what he does on the court,
you know, that's that's easy. But off the court, man,
how do you help him, you know, deal with it
and just keep him saying.
Speaker 1 (35:49):
I think I think the most important thing is like, uh,
you know, just kind of like, uh, take every situation
for what he for what it is, and kind of
have a different reaction to it. Everything doesn't have to
be met with like aggression and pressure like Okay, I
gotta go. This is this is the thing. I think
a lot of players from the in the States do
(36:10):
they meet every situation with aggression and kind of like, Okay,
this is what I need to do. This is what
we're gonna do, and we're gonna go out there and
demand and do and do all these things, which kind
of you know, sometimes it's not the best. You know,
it's not always the best. And I think he diffuses
that with like humor, right, and you know, with humor,
(36:31):
so that really helps a lot. And at the same time,
there's war getting eleven, We'll just go back to work
and you know, you know you can't. It's not a
lot you can do. But me talking to him advice wise,
I always say this, We've been here with you, this
is the start to the end, and whatever's gonna happen
is gonna happen. Don't worry about that. Just go out
(36:53):
there and be this. You know this, there's a terrible
kid that you are, this crible team, and this secribul
dad the brother that you are, and forget everything. I
was like, this is all it is the nature of
the business. It does it does exceed a little bit,
you know, it does go overboard sometimes, but it's the
nature of the business. This is what we have to do,
all of us.
Speaker 2 (37:11):
Of course, of course makes sense. I think you just
make it more of the business side of things. You know,
everything you have to look forward to there. And that's
another thing I think our viewers and our listeners really
don't always understand. Man, say, you know, this is a
business at the end of the day. You know, we
love the hoop. We love to go out there and
get them lines. But you know, sometimes decisions are kind
of just above us, you know, above our we believe
(37:33):
it or not, above our pay grade, you know, as
much as we do get paid. And you know, I
think it's something that it's hard for all this players
to deal with at times. But it's amazed that he
has a support system and you guys have schol system
with each other. Yeah, so let's go back to you
a little bit, man, because this is so inspiring to me,
because I mean there's a lot of guys that are
going through this now. You know, you've just seen JT
come back. You know Halliburn's obviously going through it now
(37:53):
as well. You tore your achilles, man, and you came
back even stronger, even more even bounce here, like explain
that rehab process, you know how you deal with immntally
and physically and like you know, what was your motivation
just to get back? Ah.
Speaker 1 (38:12):
Now that's where these people you know, talking shit come
in handy. That is when they come in handy. You
you can take that, you make that fuel, right, but
you don't like to sit in and you know, make
you like be rush. But that's when they come in handy,
Like all cool, This is is what we're gonna do,
like you know, and I'm gonna come back and I'm
gonna try to be the best that I can be
mentally wise. I was devastated, devastated, and for me to
(38:36):
say devastated, like I'm not I'm always unfhazed by stuff,
because I was like, really have so much like positive
energy and I always move forward. But I was devastated
because I was like, wow, I do everything in the
right way. And this happened to me because I'm trying
to overwork because I was getting ready for the Olympics.
Speaker 3 (38:53):
So I'm overworking and I was like dang. And then
and maybe you know.
Speaker 1 (38:59):
The the said all this school like stuff that I
had to do, and nobody tells you to do this right.
Everybody goes like, oh, yeah, you're gonna have the surgery,
you're gonna be back, don't worry about this, blah blah blah.
But nobody tells you like that after the surgery, you
literally cannot walk or you literally are in a wheelchair.
You literally cannot do anything, you know. And that was
(39:20):
the devastating part because imagine now somebody who runs the
jobs for a living running jump.
Speaker 3 (39:26):
I didn't even we don't even have like walking.
Speaker 1 (39:29):
You have a valibility. We run and jump for a living,
right and we're professional athletes, and somebody tells you like,
you literally cannot walk. There's nothing you go two months
and months, You're gonna wear this boat for three weeks,
and then after the one month, you're gonna have the
scooter and you're gonna negative. You can't even touch your
foot down, like you cannot walk. And then I had
(39:51):
more respect for people and handicapped people. I had more
respect for people in Wilch just I had more respect
for people. I'm I had more respect for everybody mesice
some divide on dude that we take for granted, so
much more respective.
Speaker 2 (40:05):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (40:06):
And then my second motivation was like I wanted to
be able to dance with my brother's wedding.
Speaker 3 (40:10):
I was like, I gottah.
Speaker 1 (40:12):
It was my brother's wedding on August. So I started rehabbing, rehabbing,
and uh, two story, I didn't even go to You
might remembers because I came and watch you guys, but
I was sitting in course. I see the whole the
whole season, I was in Santa Monica doing rehab. I
didn't even stay in Greece. You know, mostly a lot
of guys will stay home and where they are, and
(40:33):
you know, half people, I got isolated. And then I'll
tell you another crazy story. Almost I was in the fires.
And I've never told the story to nobody. I'll tell
you the story of your podcast. So I'm rehabbing, and
i am in Santa Monica, and I've wad like five
six months of rehabbing. Now I'm back. I'm in the court,
(40:53):
but I'm still rehabbing. And you know, I stayed in
an amazing home. By the way, it was like it
was every one of my business pans.
Speaker 2 (41:01):
I was just there.
Speaker 3 (41:01):
I had everything for me, like jam in the home,
like everything beautiful.
Speaker 1 (41:06):
So while I I'm asleep, I'm like I can and
I felt that. I was like, you know what, I'm
just gonna put my alarm in like two hours, wake
up my little nap no whatever.
Speaker 3 (41:17):
I wake up.
Speaker 1 (41:18):
I'm like, oh, like, what's going on? I smell? I
have it like a smell, like a smell like something
is burning but not but not nice burning, not like
kitchen like it's it someth's on fire. And look, and
I'm like, bro, what's going on. I literally go out
to the pool in the garden and it's embers everywhere.
Speaker 3 (41:36):
The sky is red. She broke the skies Embers everywhere.
Speaker 1 (41:42):
I run around. My party calls me He's like, where
are you at that I left because he left and
he was like somewhere else? So where are you at?
You did you leave the house. I'm like, I'm leaving
right now. So I have people like bang on the
door try because you know, like I had my part
in his family. So they came from another house kind
of tell me wake me up. So I see them.
(42:03):
I I get my bag, I put everything in. I
just got my passport in my hand, so I put
my boy. I didn't even close my I just sure
breaking out. Yeah, threw it in, threw it in in
the car. Mind you, I'm seeing trees down like it's
wind and fire like. I'm seeing trees fall off like this.
It's all kind of like madness. So I go to
(42:25):
another house for one of my friends. He kind of like,
you know, lets me stay for like two hours. Everybody
gathers there, everybody like every other you know, neighborhoods like,
and then they tell us like, hey, the fire is
coming to this way. And I go like, hey, guys,
I can't do this. I call my mom and I
was like, hey, what's going on. I'll tell you the
fires this happening. Mind all the roads everywhere. It's like
(42:47):
fire everywhere, fires everywhere. So I call my mom. I'm
like listen, I'm gonna shot to the airport and I
forget it out. So I take it. I go straight
to the airport, lax, and I stayed at the airport
for like the four hours. Get a flight, go straight
to greasegotiate degrees because I stay down a gas. Why
why I'm in the plane. I can see half of LA.
I don't even a joke, bro, this is I saw
(43:08):
this with my own eyes. I have videos. I was
sitting to you on like demall is on fire and
closer to the to the sea or whatever boat fire.
So I'm like, wow, this like for the moment I
lost what was the most important thing? You know, I
was thinking about that he happened. I was thinking about
(43:29):
as to myself and this is this is what I
need to do. And I was like no, no, no, no,
what's important. I gotta go see my fact, I gotta
I gotta slip up my family. I gotta go do this.
And I immediately got in the plane and went straight
to Grease. So that was like crazy. So I'll send
you some videos so you see it, Like.
Speaker 2 (43:46):
Yeah, that's a blessing. You're able to get out. Man,
that's antalyptic type of event. Bro.
Speaker 1 (43:52):
And you know what what happened. The crazy part is
in the morning when I went to practice to do
my rehab, I would walk and the fires way you
know further, and people were like, oh, you don't even
worry about that, Like it's kind the golf force, Like
it's not gonna it's the golf course is never gonna
touch it. It's never gonna be there with you, you know,
like you're not you gona be okay. But yeah, sorry,
(44:16):
I don't want to take your time. But like that
was that's a crazy story.
Speaker 2 (44:21):
Listeners there, Wow, that's a game recognized game exclusive. So
you said you went back to Greece, so kind of
on that topic, like you've obviously played a lot in
Europe at the highest you know, and obviously you played
in the league. But tell me, tell me that the
key differences like between the leagues. No, that was just
style of play. The fans are crazy overseas and move
(44:44):
different over here, Like what are some of the key differences?
Speaker 1 (44:48):
So key differences? Uh so what you used to be
the key difference was athleticism, not anymore because a lot
of players are going to Europe, so it's over to
shape almostly, not every position, but like, yeah, another key
difference obviously salary cap a little bit more money in
the States. I mean the NBA you know has like
(45:08):
the salary cap. But now the leagues are changing. You
can see, like the biggest contracts like uh hence Davis
miss Its you know, like Kendrick Nunn like huge contracts
uh here as well.
Speaker 3 (45:23):
The other difference playing wise is.
Speaker 1 (45:27):
The the willingness to repeat a good play I agree
with an example or yeah. And not only the willingness
to repeat a good play, but the willingness to go
back to the strategy again and again and again to
the sound comes down. That is the difference between Europe
and uh, the NBA. Like in the n b A,
(45:48):
it's all about flow. You know, you they make it run.
We make it run. Uh even though even though maybe
you know another guy might be doing well, we still
get the ball to the star player, or we get
the ball to the point guard. You know you can
or twice in one play, but we don't you know,
you know, you don't go back to that play again. Uh,
you know, not a lot of teams, but a lot
(46:08):
of teams will do it. They you know, they play
good and they win, but not a lot of teams
do it. But in Europe they have a game plan.
We're sticky to it and we're gonna go. If today's
game plan is not for you to score, you're not
gonna score. We're gonna let this die, you know. So
that is a big key difference. And I think like
the schedule watch too, Like I don't think they could
be able to withstay that the back to backs, like
(46:30):
the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday off, Thursday, Friday, Saturday off game Sunday.
No way they would crush. That would crash out like
they would no way understand that.
Speaker 2 (46:42):
They will definitely practice oversee, that's definitely real, definitely practice.
It's more of an academy over there, if anything. So
do you think, okay, so what now? What's the NBA
player players apart? Now? Is there anything left that says
NBA players park You said athleticism, but they've caught up there,
but like, what would you say?
Speaker 1 (46:58):
So there's certain guys, uh that obviously the athleticism because
you don't do not have the adance of the world
in everything you don't have the Miles standards or the
Yiannis and every team, Like you have teams here who
are trying to sign players to be equipped to God.
They wendy to be equipped to go, but they be
(47:19):
equipped to God as Shack it was, you know, it
will be equipped to God. The bron Lebrons and the
hybrids of the of the NBA. Ah. So that and
then I would say, is that it's a good ratio.
This is that what the NBA has that that that
another leagues don't have. It's the great ratio between athleticism,
(47:42):
skill and size as a great ratio right there, like
find the in between the golden line between saying like
that's the perfect player, between being big as hell, right,
being fast as hell and then be ski like that's
the that's the line. So that is what separates still
the NBA from you, Like you would have guys who
(48:04):
you are very big, but they're not that's skilled, or
are very skilled but they're not that big or they're
very skilled. They're big, but then that fast, that like athletic.
So that is still the big difference.
Speaker 2 (48:14):
That makes sense. That makes sense. Yeah, I mean I
think there's obviously things that set both leagues apart, and
you know, something happens to advantage as disadvantages. But one
thing I just love seeing, man, I love seeing the
videos of all the fans overseas. Oh yeah, it looks incredible. Man,
talk to the passion we were speaking to earlier. That's crazy.
Speaker 1 (48:31):
I didn't even say the fans. I should have because
the fans are first of all. You know, they don't
say teams. We'll say clubs, clubs because because and the
reason we say clubs is because like all these teams
started as a club, like it's members club and they
and they go into support their their their local team
or their local club, and it is generations. Like if
(48:52):
you notice, I'll give you like two or three teams.
Like there's a team calls they were they were founded
nineteen o eight. Damn, it's a hundred years. You have
teams that that's one hundred years plus. In Greece now
this is a small cost country and they have like
traditional basketball and basketball you know teams like artists salik
teems like you know, like they are out there so
(49:14):
many years before and they have this tar vision of
like of basketball and you know sports.
Speaker 3 (49:20):
So they they just don't. It's not that they just
love sports.
Speaker 1 (49:24):
They leave dyeing bridge sports like that is the number
one thing that you know, like has helped like the
mental as well.
Speaker 2 (49:32):
Yeah. Man, that's such a difference over here, man, so
commercialized over here. Where there it's real passion, like you said.
Speaker 1 (49:39):
Yeah, it needs to be more commercializing in them for
in unip as well to be sustainable. But there is
is what you said exactly like.
Speaker 2 (49:51):
Different motivations. All right, yoall let's tign for one more break.
Next up, we're gonna go off the court. Thank you
guys so much for listening to Game Recognized Game. And
come on, man, you have listening this whole time, yo,
please go ahead and rate review, subscribe into a We're
right there. Welcome back to the Game Recognized Game with
(50:24):
Stewie and Miles and Cia. Real quick, man, what do
you consider your greatest accomfidence so far in life just
life in general?
Speaker 3 (50:35):
My goods accomplishment If you're not asked me.
Speaker 1 (50:38):
A year ago, two three years old, like yeah, like
these years ago, like hey yeah, just the NBA and
bro like you know of made like and you no
money or this, or I would say I would have
said something like that. But like now my goods accomplishment
is that I've sat down and I'm just good that
(51:02):
in order right to to get and to do what
I want to do in life, I have to sacrifice
things right and my and and to say that is
that I have my grandson college. Is that I've sacrificed
things and done it with grace, no resentment, no sad
(51:25):
no like, oh I should have been doing this, I
should be do like I've done it like and I'm
happy about it. And I never told in my life
that I would be in this level now and I've
done these things and be okay with it because you
would have asked me when I was like, hey on no,
now I'm doing my thing like you say you asked me,
I would be. I'm very transpect with no. But like
(51:48):
it's enough to for me too, to be a great
family man. It's enough to be a great brother. It's enough,
they say, to be a grace. It's enough. It's not
uh this thing like uh and what did I do
and what I need to do? Like it's it's a
it was. It's enough for me for my family to
be succeeding, and like it's so fulfilling to me.
Speaker 3 (52:10):
So I think that's my great psychology bones to be
able to know that.
Speaker 2 (52:13):
Yeah, I love that answer. Man, It's it's not sometimes
it doesn't have to do with the material. Like you said,
that's great. So all right, man, to wrap it up. Man,
you've been doing this podcast thing for a few years now,
you know, outside of making sure my lighting is good
at all times, what advice you know can you give us?
Just on the new pot man, we're trying to grow,
(52:35):
We're in a new space. I mean obviously you know
Stewie has such as a very accomplished person in the realm.
And again we're trying to make this you know, this stuff,
you know, just get this to be you know, somewhere
safe space, people to come and just you know, share
the thoughts and you know, just tap in. Oh man.
Speaker 1 (52:50):
So one thing is you guys be You don't change
like you don't need to. You don't need to do
hot taches to go Vie, you don't need to do
none of those stuff to do like you know, like
want to keep wonders and people to come to your
show because if you're if you be you wherever comes
to your shul Stace whatever because they that's what they want.
That's what they're looking for, and set space and and
(53:11):
truth right and uh and same time entertainment a little bit,
but like this is what they you know, they look for. Uh.
The other thing would be product like what you guys
have here, it's an amazing product.
Speaker 2 (53:21):
You know.
Speaker 1 (53:21):
You guys do uh through a riverside or like you know,
through the zoom or etcetera. And you know you should
try to do more in person as well as much
as you can. That's nice, that's it's good for the
audience because the audience sees you like with the and
listens to you, like with the guests next to you,
so like like, oh they meant they had an interaction.
(53:44):
And the other thing is to not put a lot
of pressure on yourselves. You know you can you can
throw throw slow roll it or fast throw it as
as much as you want. You don't have to be
coming out with crazy episodes as long as you're coming
out with with with who you are, and you don't
(54:04):
and you don't give you always give an explanation of
what's happening. If you have a uh, let's say ten
days stretch or twenty day straight that you don't feel
like doing an episode. You don't have to just quit it.
You could just say, hey, guys, you know, you know,
everybody who's listening to thank you guys so much. This
is what we're going through because people love honesty. People
loves people love that because they're like, Wow, okay, I'm
(54:27):
gonna wait for him to come I'm gonna way for
him to come back. You know.
Speaker 2 (54:31):
So obviously that's real it. Yeah, you got a live
show coming up, man, talk about it a little bit.
Speaker 1 (54:37):
Wow, Okay, So I'm gonna give you some o the
stuff that we're gonna do. If people don't know yet,
So have a live show twenty six and March be
there if you If you guys want to get tickets
at tia liveshow dot com. H ticket is like forty
three dollars my jersey number. I always do, like, you know,
just for people to get there, you know, something symbolic.
(54:58):
I always give people a good show. My my guest this
year is Rick Flair nature Boy.
Speaker 2 (55:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (55:05):
So we're doing a lot of like restuming stuff. I'm
actually I'm actually uh talking with the company. So we're
gonna make the whole stages as a ring. So yeah,
that's gonna be kind of cool. Uh. And you know
I always have presidents. You know, it's gonna be presidents
in the end. You know, prizes people can win they
don't expect, and it's just like, uh, it's just celebration,
(55:29):
you know, instead of doing a meet and greed and
doing all these things. They like, do a live show
and get people in the building and listen to our
conversation and see, you know, people that never expect to
see kind of talk. You know, I don't think they
were expected me to see me and Rick Flair, you know,
or me and you know, and uh. And the years past,
I had Stephen Ay on the show, Stephen A. Smith
on the show. The year before that, I had older
(55:50):
brothers kind of live show with Who's My Head? Brook Lopez,
Robert Lopez. I had like everybody kind of crashed the podcast.
He's always having a surprise guest. But it's a it's
fun because this is something I have to do, and
I do it. I only do once a year. For now,
once a year, I was thinking, this ain't no tour thing,
(56:10):
this ain't no knowing for once a year, and it
happened to be you know, in the place in Milwaukee
and actually do this year. I'm actually doing it at
the Pops Theater, so it's kind of cool.
Speaker 2 (56:21):
Okay, yeah that's a story. Yeah yo. Man, all right,
well see I can't thank you enough. Bro, Thank you
so much for taking some time the business schedule. It's
come to show some love on the pod Man. And again, man,
