Speaker 1 (00:00):
December eighteenth, twenty twenty two, Lousale Stadium, Lusale, Qatar, Messi
and Bape.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
It's all tied up after one hundred and twenty minutes
of action. It all comes down to penalty kicks.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
This is the greatest World Cup Final ever.

Speaker 4 (00:31):
Welcome to Games with Names. I'm Julian, They're Jack and Kyler,
and we're on a mission to find it the greatest
game of all time. In today's episode is presented by Dominoes.

Speaker 5 (00:45):
We got a great episode today.

Speaker 4 (00:46):
Coming out with streamer Castro and if you haven't already
dropped a like and subscribe to Games with Names, let's
go Games with Names of production of iHeartRadio. Welcome to
Games with Names. Today, we are looking at the twenty
twenty two World Cup Final Argentina versus France with Edwin

(01:12):
Castro Edwin in one sentence, why'd you pick this game?

Speaker 5 (01:17):
Why did I pick this game?

Speaker 2 (01:19):
What a question?

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Man?

Speaker 5 (01:20):
Listen for me?

Speaker 2 (01:21):
For me, it felt as if you know a movie
I've been watching for fifteen years, had the perfect closure,
the perfect ending. Leonelle Messi winning the World.

Speaker 4 (01:34):
Cup, Jackie, is that maybe one of the best answers
one sentence?

Speaker 5 (01:40):
I was kept it one sentence.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
Let people go into a monologue and they try to
break down the game that was.

Speaker 5 (01:47):
That was money.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Listen, I'm a big fan of the cast. I can't
prepare it. Let's go, Let's go. Is it the greatest
game of all time? Absolutely? Oh?

Speaker 5 (01:55):
Absolutely? Another.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
It meant so much, man, think about it. It's it's
it's every thing. We want as fans to see Messi
lift the World Cup. But then here comes the new
generation killing him. Bape Oh in the in the final,
dropping a hat trick which hadn't been done since nineteen
sixty six, and he tries to steal the story that
Messi's trying to finish.

Speaker 5 (02:16):
Yeah, I mean, I'm sure you watched the game.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
We all watched the game. I mean it was an
insane game. And I'm a casual soccer fan. I got
into soccer probably fifteen years ago, or football because of
Harry Kane. Harry Kane started following me. He's a Patriots fan.
I started following him. I became a Tottenham Hot Spurs fan,
and that's and then I play a lot of FIFA.

Speaker 5 (02:38):
So that's how you're a Tottenham fan. A Tottenham fan.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
Thanks for having me, guys, and the reason is all
my friends, they have all their EPL teams, the Arsenals,
Liverpools and man Us and man City.

Speaker 5 (02:52):
I was like, I'm gonna go with I'm gonna go
with the hot Spurs.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Yeah yeah, I mean, you're a You're in a tough
spot right now, but terrible. I mean felt it felt
like the entire planet just got together during that final.
I think it was like one point five billion viewers.

Speaker 5 (03:08):
It was.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
It was insane and I was front row, so to
witness it was was pretty special, man, and something I'll
never forget.

Speaker 5 (03:15):
But it was more than just that game too.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Argentina lost their first game about it, Yeah, against Saudi
Arabia exactly. And you know, Messi scored in every single
round of the World Cup seven times, so it was
it was bigger than just the final. But that that
that last game, man, it felt like a script, right.
It was just like it felt fake, you know what
I'm saying, Because it was it was two to two

(03:40):
and then it was three three, and then I know
you're a big fan of shootouts, that's how you like
sporting events to end.

Speaker 5 (03:46):
And then what happened? Why am I a fan of shootouts?

Speaker 2 (03:50):
Listen, man, I was just listening to the podcast and
someone asked the question saying, like, what would have made
that final better? You're like, well, maybe some shootouts? Right,
I'm go, man, we'll jump in. We'll jump into this
game more. And I love your insight. This guy's did
his research.

Speaker 5 (04:07):
Absolutely. What other sports are you fan of? What's your
sports fan of? Tiers?

Speaker 4 (04:13):
It's obviously football number one? Football, and then maybe do
we have football Americano? Do we have basketball? Do we
have baseball? Maybe that's funny.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
I like I like football, right, I'm a big fan
of golf too. I feel like that's my my latest itch.
But all sports, man, all sports. We've got the boys
in the in the studio. We always have all sports,
from women's sports to high school soccer. I mean, you
name it, we watch it. And because I've been in

(04:43):
sports my whole life, yeah, all of them. Do Just
would you play soccer in high school?

Speaker 5 (04:50):
I played.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
That's where I peaked, right, That's where I uh, I
don't know why she's just laugh right because she's like,
that's so funny. You know, she just made fun of me. No,
I was captain of my high school soccer team. Right,
But yeah, I've been playing since three club soccer and then, yeah,
are you Bears fan? I am a Chicago Bears fan man,

(05:11):
big Kalobs fan, got a lot of his rookie cards.
Oh yeah, you so you're a big card guy. Yeah, yeah,
you're collectives.

Speaker 5 (05:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
So for the last ten years I've been I've been
live streaming on Twitch. Yeah, right, and it's mainly been
me entertaining while playing FIFA, which I know you're a
big fan of, right. And then after that I kind
of diversified a little bit and I opened up a
sports card collecting e commerce you know, website brand, and

(05:38):
it's essentially where we where we break cards, we ship
them to customers and and there's a lot of nice
Kilob william cards out there.

Speaker 4 (05:46):
Heck yeah, have you have you seen Brady in the vault?
Is there any cross pollination with that? How does that work?

Speaker 5 (05:52):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (05:53):
So they actually invited us in Dallas to go to
their you know, storefront, and we pulled up and you know,
we shot some content and stuff like that. But we're
more online based, So yeah, I follow that, and that's
pretty cool what they're doing. A lot of you know,
ex athlete soccer players are getting more into it, and
I feel like, you know, I don't want to, you know,
take credit for anything, but the transition from the Twitch

(06:14):
gaming side of things into the sports card you know,
we we almost feel like we we trailblazed it because
we knew the entertainment side of of Twitch and live streaming,
but we kind of wanted to revolutionize how people you know,
sold cards or or you know, open cards, and that's
something that I did for the last ten years. So

(06:35):
we added more mics, we added nice camera. As we
put on a show, it felt like a podcast while
we're ripping these cards. So shout out to the UH
to the cash and Collects boys. But yeah, it was.

Speaker 4 (06:45):
That's I mean, it's it's so big right now we
do I do fanatics Fest and just the collectibles. I
always used to love trading cards when I was a kid.
You get it with the stale bubble gum and the
baseball cards, a football card. It's been really cool to
see it with the new generation, which you're helping with
that because one of the huge communication platforms out there

(07:08):
nowadays is Twitch. And speaking of Twitch, you're an insane
FIFA player. I love FIFA. Who's the FIFA squad that
you if you have a must win game, you're playing
with Manchester United.

Speaker 5 (07:21):
Your boys. I like them too.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
You want to know why, because they're they're not so
high rated in the game, but I like to be
good with them, right, And I know that if I
come up against anyone, and if I pick Real Madrid,
which is a strong team, I'm gonna smoke you. But
if I beat you with United, now it's kind of
like level a little bit, right.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
So I've been playing with man City lately. I calling
he's a tank. I just throw it up in there,
let him he finishes. You got fast guys on the
outside the wings. I forget my team name. I'm not
as dialed as I once was. I've been playing a
lot of clubs lately. So that's that's why I play
pro clubs, pro clubs with my best friends.

Speaker 5 (07:58):
There's no way on program.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
Yeah, we do clubs all your own character and everything,
my own character. And he's high rated and all that. Well,
we're trying to work those ratings. I'm about you know,
we're working that.

Speaker 5 (08:09):
I get. I'm trying to.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
Get what is it you're trying to unlock? The different traits?
I mean I'm unlocking what is it?

Speaker 5 (08:14):
The angler?

Speaker 3 (08:17):
No?

Speaker 5 (08:18):
Anger?

Speaker 4 (08:18):
No, what's the third? I forget, but I'm getting there.
I'm a right wing.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
So do you build your character kind of like your
your real life character was.

Speaker 5 (08:28):
Yeah, I mean I'm five ten. I didn't I'm not.
I didn't want to.

Speaker 4 (08:31):
I kept my weight a little down because in soccer
you gotta you gotta be a little faster, and that
the lungs. So you know, I guess about one sixty
eight one seventy two depending on the day, water weight.
We're hitting speed, quickness, agility, We're all there.

Speaker 5 (08:47):
We're working on our long pass.

Speaker 4 (08:48):
Our game is pretty much speed cut cross up to
my big dog Bence in the middle and Chemo in
the play and the other team. So, you know, fifa
is is such a great way for athletes or video
game in general, a to stay out of trouble, be
to communicate with the kids I've been playing video games

(09:11):
with for twenty five years, and so these are the
high school kids I grew up playing with, and we
find time maybe twice three times a week to get
on and play clubs.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
That's so awesome, man, you know, that's how I met
a lot of my friends in the football world. Right,
some boys that you know play for Manchester United. I got,
you know, the blessing to meet them. And you know
that's what they all say is that they travel. They've
got these you know, luggage cases with an Xbox or
PlayStation inside and they take them to the hotels and
all they're doing is game And I'm like, that is genius.

Speaker 4 (09:44):
Oh yeah, Like I said, it's a great way to
communicate with friends. Keeps you out of the streets, you
know what I mean. Ei, there's so many distractions from
from life when you're a professional in anything, when you
have something that kind of holds you in, you get
to just sit there.

Speaker 5 (10:01):
I mean. It's a great form of rebooting for.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
Me, absolutely. And it's fun too. When you look at
the game, right, you see how realistic it is. It is, right,
and you're just like, man, it almost feels like I'm
in the game.

Speaker 6 (10:12):
Right.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
But say you were to work for FIFA, you were
like the president and you could change a couple things
from the game.

Speaker 5 (10:20):
Well it's FC now, whatever it is. What are some
things you're changing from the game.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
Well, listen, I am I was fully deep in the
you know, competitive side of the game. It's called Ultimate Team,
where I'm opening up digital packs, I'm putting my squad together,
and then I'm going on lying to play some of
the best players around the world, and I'm trying to
hit the top rank. Right, I'm trying to get you know,
thirty and oh, twenty and oh games in a row
without losing. And once you unlock that level, it becomes

(10:48):
super competitive. And as we've seen throughout the past maybe
five or so years, there's a lot of AI involvement now, right,
and that's when you get to see all the glitch,
you know what I'm saying. And so what I would
do is I would probably tone that a little bit
right just to make it a little more fair. But
I know it's hard, because coding a video game is

(11:10):
I mean, man, I can only imagine how difficult that is.
So that's one of the reasons why I always try
to stay away from the competitive side of gaming and
lean towards the entertainment side, right, which is what I'm
essentially kind of known for, and that's that's what I
love to do the most. But yeah, man, I would
probably you know, tweak that a little bit or or

(11:32):
potentially make it an open world like Grand Theft Auto. Yeah,
where you have your own character on pro clubs and
then you can go and you know, train and then
you've got a story mode. I know NBA two K
does a really good job of that, so probably lean
towards that too.

Speaker 5 (11:46):
I like that. I like that. Now, break us down
a day in the life of a streamer? No, I
what I know? Like, how do you get ready for
your work day? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (11:58):
Is there a routine you have before? Do you know
you have a team that maybe gets you right now?
But back in the day where you doing your own
camera settings, where you taking everything serious?

Speaker 5 (12:09):
Were you eating different?

Speaker 4 (12:11):
Did you plot out a certain amount of time for
the day that you were streaming? Did you know what
specific hours were best streaming?

Speaker 2 (12:18):
Like?

Speaker 5 (12:18):
How is a day in a life of a streamer? Yeah?
So listen, that's that's a fantastic question.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
And I don't know if anyone's ever asked me that before,
but you know you're gonna find out that it's a
bit it can be a bit unhealthy. Right, So I'd
wake up maybe like seven am, I wouldn't eat right,
I'd say goodbye to my wife, although I was just
going to the room next door. See you baby, I'll
see you later, right, And I would.

Speaker 5 (12:42):
I would.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
I would sit there and game for eight to twelve
hours a day, right. And what was different about me
is that i had the highest of highest energies. I'm
one of those ogs that was just like, man, if
people are going to tune into watch me, I gotta
make it as most entertaining as I possibly can. It's
being love out, it's you know, just never no dead
airspace is what I'm talking about. And people love that, right,

(13:06):
And I think they could relate to it because I
feel like I because I've been playing soccer for so long,
I knew a lot about the real world game and
it translates into the video game. We're looking for infor
messy cards, we're opening packs, we're playing the game. We're
building teams based on who's performing well in real life.
And so I'm doing that for eight to twelve hours

(13:26):
a day and it started blowing up and I would
look at my wife and I was like, man, this
is this is a lot of money. Let's do something
with this. So this is where I started running charity
live streams. And that's one of the things I'm most
you know, I guess happy for that I did that
because we ultimately raised over I think a million dollars. Oh,

(13:50):
and of me just sitting there, no sleep for fifty hours,
I wouldn't shut it off. I did a twenty four
hour one. I did a fifty hour one, the longest
one I did without sleep or even showering, with seventy
two hours. How many milligrams of caffeine man I was
downing at the time. I don't know what the company called,
but I was sponsored by the company, and I was
just dude. I was down in like two of those

(14:10):
a day, and you know, obviously it were one hundred milligrams.
But again that goes towards the you know, it's a
bit unhealthy, but an average you know, eight hour day,
I'd go on, you know, eight hours, I'd come off.
Obviously I was exhausted, right because it's everyone thinks like,
you're just sitting there playing video games. Well it's like, no,
I'm actually like trying to, you know, entertain and talk

(14:31):
a lot. My voice was always gone, it was always
raspy and all that stuff. But it was awesome because
it brought the community together, right, and ultimately I think
that that was My purpose was to give people an
escape from the real world and sit there and hopefully
learn something or just be entertained.

Speaker 4 (14:52):
And yeah, yeah, Now, how do you know you had
a good stream at the end, because like, after I'm
done with my work, you know, or this now or
football when I was playing, I'd have like a debrief
session after with you know some of the people either teammates,

(15:13):
people that I work with here, and you sit in
your debrief everything, like.

Speaker 5 (15:17):
Man, how do you think it was? Was it a
good one?

Speaker 2 (15:20):
Shit?

Speaker 4 (15:21):
Well there's this one play, Well there's this one question.
Well we didn't get you know what I mean? Is
there like is there a period of that after?

Speaker 5 (15:28):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (15:28):
I think, how do you know you got a good stream? Well,
I think number one. If I didn't break any controllers,
I was cool. If I didn't crash out, I was cool.
And yeah, I would just I would sit there, like
you said, and self reflect a little bit. Yeah, and
I'd be like, all right, like how was the energy
in the room in the chat? How were they towards me?
How was I towards them? And I always try to

(15:49):
be as positive as I could be, because no one
wants to sit there and watch someone that's you know,
angry or upsead or whatnot. So I would sit there
and reflect and I would just tell myself, like, you
know what, that was good. There was some days where
I was just like, man, that was that was? That
was fucking amazing, right, And those were typically the days
where you know, we would raise a lot of money
for various charities and stuff like that. But yeah, man,

(16:11):
it was. It's a little self reflecting. Do you ever
rewatch the twitch? Never?

Speaker 5 (16:16):
I've never listened.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
Man, this is crazy to say, but in thirteen years
that I've been in this industry, I've never rewatched a stream.
I've never rewatched a YouTube video. I've never done any
of that.

Speaker 5 (16:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (16:28):
Man, so there's got to be something because you're self
reflecting that your audience loves that you hate doing what
is it?

Speaker 2 (16:36):
My oh my well crashing out? They find it as entertainment, right,
you know, and you could tell that they messed with
you in the chat and they're like, oh, I'm gonna
say this and see if he chucks that controller. And
at first, man, you know, it was almost like I
was a rookie at it. Maybe it gets to you
a comment here and there, but then I'm like, ah,
I know you guys are trolling me, man, So I'd

(16:58):
go back and forth with it, but I think just
I never wanted to be angry R. I don't want
to do that. So but yeah, there's things in there
that people say. Obviously, it's it's an open world, man,
it's the Internet, so it's crazy. But one thing that
I want to, I guess kind of touch on is
one time I had one of the worst things happen

(17:18):
to me.

Speaker 5 (17:18):
Bro all right, and you're not going to believe this,
but I was.

Speaker 2 (17:21):
I was coming towards the end of a long stream
and my wife had just left, she went to Costco
or something, and I had my headset on and I'm
sitting there gaming, right And this was maybe nine years ago,
and all of a sudden, my phone was always on
my desk and it says answer the phone from my wife,
and I'm like, what the hell. The next thing, you know,

(17:42):
I get a call and I have my headset on,
and every time I was going to answer a call,
I would mute my mic. I muted my mic really quick.
I answered the phone and they're like, stand up and
start walking backwards. And I was like, oh, I know
what's going on. So I had the phone, I grabbed

(18:04):
my left hand and I end the stream, close it down.
I get up, and then I put it on speakerphone,
take off my headset, and you can kind of see
where like the pan if you go back and watch
the vod or you can kind of see me and
my stream a little weird.

Speaker 5 (18:19):
So anyways, I ended this stream.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
I have my phone and I'm like this, and I'm
like yes, and they're like, okay, walk down. I'm on
the second floor. Walk down your house backwards. Once you
get out of your house, keep walking backwards, turn right
to the stop sign. Do it all backwards. And I'm like,
oh okay. So I do all that and I look
like a weirdo doing it right. I finally get to

(18:43):
the stop sign. I turn around. There's lasers pointed at
my chest. There's guys behind trees with shotguns rifles. They're
all behind like you know, squat it up. It's the
swat team. And I'm like, oh god. So I'm like
walking slowly towards them. They're giving me instruction. I'm following
all the instructions. Someone had called and said that I

(19:04):
dude beheaded my wife I had people hostage all this stuff,
and it was scary as out, yeah, because I'm like, man,
what if my phone slips and I've got a red
dot on my chest? Like I'm I'm falling. So I
told him, I was like, I know what's going on.
I think I'm being swatted. I'm sorry. And then I

(19:28):
looked at my my I have cameras inside the house
and my dogs are like in their little crate or whatnot.
These dudes are walking in with just shotguns and rifles
and stuff. I get it. It's protocol. Someone called and
they had to, you know, do it. Yeah, because what
if it was true? You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (19:42):
Yeah, I mean that's the crazy thing about being on
the internet.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
Yeah, Bert, like, you know what I mean. So then
and it's probably just some kid fucking with you. It
was so they did say it was someone from like
Birmingham or England or something like that. Oh wow, yeah
you got bots. We got bots calling in swats. So
you got man that was scared crazy.

Speaker 5 (20:09):
Only one swat in all those years.

Speaker 2 (20:10):
Though, I mean they dude, see the ones that I
like is when they live let's crea I mean, dude,
if you do enough research, I think you can. I
don't know, man, I don't know. That's not the only time,
the one time. See this is what they need to
start doing, right. They ordered like twenty five pizzas to
my parents' house and I'm like, oh, hell yeah, I
see not And then I opened the door. They didn't
pay for it, so I was like, Okay, I ended

(20:32):
up paying for it. But the pizzas Jesus pizza, Yeah,
no it was.

Speaker 5 (20:38):
It was.

Speaker 4 (20:40):
Now we gotta do a little twenty twenty six World
Cup preview, Oh yeah, go. So what are your thoughts
on this new format?

Speaker 2 (20:48):
More teams, right, which in my opinion could maybe lessen
the group stage hype a little bit, right, But man,
more more soccer for me, the better.

Speaker 5 (21:01):
We'll be right back after this quick break. I mean,
it's kind of.

Speaker 4 (21:05):
Like when they expand the college football playoff. I mean,
more teams, more games, of course, and you and I
think it's great for the World Cup because you're getting
more countries involved. Absolutely, I mean, and I do hope
that you see some of those, you know, countries that
maybe you don't think will advance. I hope they do advance.
Everybody loves a dark horse. Story, right, So well, how

(21:28):
about our dark horse? What about the United States of America?
Are they going to have any shot of doing any
dirt in this look?

Speaker 2 (21:34):
I honestly, I think they've got the group of death personally, right,
You've got Turkey and those are alphas. Man, those are
those are strong, strong boys. And then you also have Australia,
which is one of those. Maybe they're the weaker teams.
And then they've got uh a pot of why right,
South American team.

Speaker 5 (21:54):
They can baw, they're strong.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
But I reckon they're gonna get out of the group stage,
and I hope they do r I hope they do well.

Speaker 4 (22:03):
They haven't had a win in the elimination stage since
like ninety four or something.

Speaker 5 (22:09):
Yeah, it's mean, you know, and then.

Speaker 4 (22:12):
It's gotta we gotta get it going. Everyone keeps on
talking about the youth or something, the youth sports and
the development of it.

Speaker 5 (22:18):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (22:19):
Yeah, I think it's a it's a combination of many things, right. Obviously,
the youth, I think player development is important. I also
think that one of the things that I can relate
to is that that age from sixteen, seventeen and eighteen,
I feel like a lot of kids maybe get lost
in that in that age group, right at least I did, right,
you know, that's when.

Speaker 5 (22:39):
You're starting to drive girls whatnot.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
So maybe yeah, man, maybe focusing up a little bit
in that age or having you know, advisor and stuff.

Speaker 5 (22:48):
So which nation's gonna surprise us the most? You think
out of this?

Speaker 2 (22:52):
Ah?

Speaker 1 (22:53):
You know?

Speaker 2 (22:53):
Okay, So this is something that I've really thought of.
So they're implementing AI into this World Cup right Obviously
the previous one that had v R and all.

Speaker 4 (23:03):
That, I thought we just wanted to eliminate AI from FIFA.
Now we're gonna we're putting it in.

Speaker 2 (23:07):
Well no, but like just you know, the the technical stuff,
and I believe that it'll be a nation who you know,
focuses on that. I think Japan. To keep it short, Japan,
Let's go Japan. I like that, right, disciplined, right, discipline, quick,
technically sound?

Speaker 5 (23:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (23:26):
Yeah, I mean who do you think? Who do you
think is gonna.

Speaker 5 (23:30):
For me? Who's a dark horse for me? Italy didn't
even make it? Did they didn't even make it?

Speaker 2 (23:40):
You were looking for I want that because but I
forgot they didn't. Yeah, they didn't qualify I'm gonna go with.

Speaker 4 (23:52):
Mm like Haiti Haiti, thet ballers.

Speaker 5 (24:00):
Okay, I out the Haitians, let's go and Morocco. I
like what they did last what they were in the
final final four last year, four, last year.

Speaker 4 (24:09):
You know, I like to see what they build off
of that, maybe get a little confidence, Maybee gain a
couple little fourteen year olds back then that turn into
studs now they're like eighteen.

Speaker 5 (24:21):
That's what's so that's what's so fun about the World Cup.
You get to watch some of.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
These young unknown players get to play with, you know,
the stud players from the matchups, man the matchups. The
youngins too that get an opportunity. This is this is
their time to shine. Right who's your favorite young player
you think is gonna ball out? Well, I mean, listen, obviously,
Leamin Yamal is a young player and he's one of

(24:46):
the best, if not the best right now. So I
think him in Spain, man, they're gonna they're gonna pop off.
I think they could potentially reach the final. There's also, uh,
what team's he on? He's on Spain Barcelona that it's unbelievable.
That guy's been killing it, hasn'ty He's unreal.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
Man.

Speaker 2 (25:03):
He's the closest thing I think we have had since
maybe like a Ronaldinho or maybe.

Speaker 5 (25:08):
A Messy banged up right now.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
But I'm sure you know about Dino, right, of course
I do Brazil, right, Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 5 (25:16):
Used to? Oh then you Doc Ventry's good. Yeah, I
haven't seen it.

Speaker 4 (25:20):
It's on my list, but I just remember seeing Ronaldinho
and all the Nike commercials, and I guess they I
saw a thing behind it that it'll only be one take.
He would just do that messing around and then yeah,
it'd be done commercial. They'd have to like a I
mean or something.

Speaker 5 (25:37):
It's you. I've been there for like eighteen hours trying
to do the same trick. You've been to Brazil. I
have been in Brazil.

Speaker 4 (25:42):
How cool is it when you're walking down the beaches
of Rio everyone's doing the volleyball with everyone is They
don't even use volleyball with their hands, the sacene man,
so they're they're insanely skilled.

Speaker 2 (25:54):
That's what I'm saying. In these countries, Brazil, Argentina, you're
born with the ball. It's in your blood, right. It's
like their concept is is fine talent first, and then
we'll worry about the money later, right, And and I
think that's something that like out here, man and I
get kicked out, Like if I go to the pitch
right to just kick the ball, they're gonna kick me
off the field because I don't mess up the grass. Yeah,

(26:14):
you know what I'm saying out there, It's like, no, dude,
it's almost like you have to be kicking the ball around.

Speaker 5 (26:19):
So yeah, Brazil Man, They're they're different out there, bro.
So now who's going to win the Golden Glove? Golden Glove? Goalkeepers?

Speaker 2 (26:27):
Man?

Speaker 5 (26:27):
Ooh, I'm gonna be biased and say Lemons for Belgium. Right,
Belgians are that they're always pretty good goalie. Could you
imagine though it becomes.

Speaker 2 (26:40):
Dude for Mexican back. Yeah, he just announced that he's
coming back, bro, unbelievable. I think he's like forty one,
forty two.

Speaker 6 (26:48):
It would world collection, it wouldn't be any sort of
Mexico international game.

Speaker 5 (26:52):
But it weren't with Ochoa man exactly. He's a staple.

Speaker 2 (26:55):
He's a staple.

Speaker 5 (26:55):
How's Mexico gonna do?

Speaker 2 (26:57):
I listen, I personally, I think they're going to do well.
I think they've got you know a few a few
players that have been popping off on on chiebas in
the first division of Mexico, and they've got a mixture
of youngins with Hilberto Mora and some experienced players.

Speaker 5 (27:11):
Like, it's not about this. I think they're gonna do well.
I think they're gonna be Okay, I miss you, bro
my god, speaking of Man, you maybe legend he's easy guy.

Speaker 4 (27:20):
All right, last question before we get into this game.
Who's taken the World Cup twenty twenty six World Cup?
Oh man, I listen, what do you just give me?
Give me your top three, top three that that you think,
and we'll do. Like if this is horse racings, you
can go win place third. All right, I'm done with that.

(27:41):
I'm gonna go with my number one pick. France, France Pope,
not justin Boppe though, who else they've got to least say,
they've got Uzman Demballe, who's probably the best player in
the world right now, right, I mean, they're they're stacked.
Their back line is stacked with kund Saliba. Oh my goodness, man,
I don't know who's going to get past that France name.

Speaker 5 (28:02):
I'm paper. They're unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (28:05):
Unbelievab Who's someone that could get him though? Who's someone
that can get him that's not not.

Speaker 5 (28:09):
On paper but in real life?

Speaker 2 (28:12):
Not ai my goat Ronaldo? Fely Portugal? Maybe your Portugal?
Yeah yeah, let's go that.

Speaker 4 (28:21):
I don't know if we talk about scripts, we're about
to get into the game where Messy last was last
World Cup?

Speaker 5 (28:28):
He wins it?

Speaker 2 (28:29):
E then what if Ronaldo come? Theyre Ronaldo already has one,
doesn't he h he doesn't. He's got a euro He's
got a euro Cup. Now now just just the heads up.
If Argentina and Portugal both win their group, they could
match up against each other in the quarterfinals, so you'd
see the ultimate final, last dance Messi versus Ronaldo.

Speaker 5 (28:52):
Now how bad does FIFA want that to happen?

Speaker 2 (28:54):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (28:54):
Man, I think the entire planet want that? Might break
the rating? Oh yeah, bro oh I agree. I mean
there's like eight hundred million people that follow those two
people on social media alone. How lucky are we the
you're twenty twenty six, we get both of them.

Speaker 2 (29:09):
Still honestly, they're they're they're not in their you know, prime,
But I mean it's still let's go game brand Baby's
name brand right there, that's what we all want to see.

Speaker 5 (29:18):
Let's see it.

Speaker 4 (29:19):
I'm so excited for this twenty twenty six world coming in.
It's gonna be fun.

Speaker 5 (29:23):
Yeah, here in the.

Speaker 1 (29:24):
United States, in Mexico, in Canada, North America hosting. Nothing
more exciting, nothing more exciting, more games.

Speaker 5 (29:34):
Baby started doing pushups? Is it cool if I just
started doing? But you can put out on it. We're
helping quick ten. You can pup a quick ten.

Speaker 4 (29:40):
All right, let's go back into time where the game
took place, and we like to go over what was
happening in the real world, the other world, the pop
culture world. This game took place December eighteenth, twenty twenty two.
Number one movie Avatar. The Way of the Water terrified
my daughter. She was not a fan of it as much.

(30:01):
She was a little scared those blue guys, those blue guys.
She was what seven at that time?

Speaker 5 (30:06):
Probably? Yeah, she didn't like it. Out.

Speaker 4 (30:09):
How about Mariah Carey? This was four years ago. She's
still rocking number one song All I Want for Christmas?
He owns December. She owns December. What's another one? Probably
it owns December.

Speaker 6 (30:20):
I mean, it's gotta be like some other bing Crosby
type Criss Crosby probably, but Mariah Man Oh, Chiefs win
the Super Bowl, Pat mahomes MVP, Caleb Chicago Bear, Yes,
sir gets the Heisman at USC What else happens?

Speaker 5 (30:38):
This is a crazy NFL time too.

Speaker 4 (30:40):
Oh, this was the day when New England lost to
Las Vegas and I lost my over under fifty thousand
dollars bet eight and a half wins, eight and a
half wins.

Speaker 5 (30:48):
That was it? Right, that was it? Oh, this was painful.
This was a painful time for me. But how was
this time for you? What were you like?

Speaker 2 (30:56):
Castro in twenty twenty two? Twenty twenty two, Well, I
spent a month in Katar? How was that?

Speaker 5 (31:02):
For the World Cup?

Speaker 2 (31:03):
I know, you know, and well, you know, obviously there
was a lot of talk before going into the World
Cup about Kutar and how it's gonna be and people
can't drink and YadA, YadA YadA. So I told my wife,
I'm like, hey, let's go. I think something big is
gonna happen, right, I think, you know, either Messi or
Ronal they were going to win the whole thing.

Speaker 5 (31:20):
Let's go spend a month out there.

Speaker 2 (31:22):
We had a lot of cool opportunities with brands, and
we went to a lot of games, almost all of them,
and then MESSI ended up winning the World Cup and
we were Row one, So I mean, I couldn't asked
for anything more.

Speaker 5 (31:34):
I mean, this is a great time. How was the
streaming world for you right now?

Speaker 2 (31:37):
So?

Speaker 5 (31:37):
How many years deep are you in the streaming world
in twenty twenty two?

Speaker 2 (31:40):
You in twenty twenty two, I think I was about
maybe eight eight years or so, but it was transitioning
more from gaming to IRL.

Speaker 5 (31:48):
Right we were walking the streets of Qatar meeting people.

Speaker 2 (31:51):
I made a character of our Uber driver and people
loved him.

Speaker 5 (31:55):
Man.

Speaker 2 (31:56):
His name was Abdulah. He took us everywhere, he knew
all the shortcuts. So were, you know, on the streets
of Katar, just showing the world what it was like.
And people loved it. Man. They were you know, we
would go to the you know, tailgating per se and
then yeah, man, we we killed it out there.

Speaker 5 (32:12):
The numbers were great.

Speaker 2 (32:13):
People are asking me now if I'm gonna do the
same thing for the twenty twenty six World Cup, and
so we're thinking of getting an RV and traveling to
all the all the stadium.

Speaker 4 (32:21):
I mean, yeah, that would be lit that time. I
bit you the crowd or what do you guys call
it the crowd? What do you call your fans? Or
like your chat? I'm getting.

Speaker 2 (32:35):
Wow? All right, rushmore video games? Oh oh man, I'd
go with FIFA thirteen thirteen. BEIFA thirteen, right, that's the
one that I first started uh streaming on. And then
I'd go with Super Smash Brothers. Super Smash is huge, right,
and then I think my my last one, I'd probably

(32:59):
go with Crystal version on the game Boy Pokemon Pokemon
Yeah yeah, And then I don't want to I don't
want to say any games on the game gear because
that's going to make me sound a little old.

Speaker 5 (33:10):
But the game gear was pretty cool. We got one
more of those, one more video game.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
Let's go with San Andreas GTA GTA. Oh yeah, so
we got a Mario in there. Yep, super Smash well balanced,
well balance, well balance. All right, let's jump into this game.
Jackie shout down these teams.

Speaker 5 (33:30):
Should we get on?

Speaker 3 (33:31):
Uh?

Speaker 6 (33:31):
Should we get on these these Argentinians? All right, let's
get on these guys. Two time World Cup champs, entering
this World Cup seventy eight eighty six with Maridona, who
can forget that coming into this thing the world ranking
was third in the world. Lost to Flance in the
round of sixteen back in twenty eighteen, so looking for
a little revenge out there. This was the first World

(33:53):
Cup under Scaloni, best squabit had pretty much in years,
entered this thing on a thirty six game win streak.
I mean, you know the names Messi, Alvarez, Di Maria, Fernandez, Moline.

Speaker 5 (34:04):
I mean, the squad was stacked. What do you remember
of this team?

Speaker 2 (34:10):
What do I remember this team is that they all
grouped together to win the World Cup for Messi. That
was that was that was there on their agenda. That
was their purpose was to win the World Cup for Messi. Obviously,
in two thousand and eighteen, oh twenty fourteen, I believe
against Germany they lost an extra time right and you

(34:33):
can only imagine how that was, so they won the
Copa Medica, and then I think their.

Speaker 4 (34:38):
Purpose for twenty twenty two was to win it for Messi.
So you look at that roster, who are the guys
that you're circling that helped you that?

Speaker 2 (34:46):
Oh man, di Maria di Maria, Emiliano Martinez the goalkeeper.
If it wasn't for him making his save against Coola
Mowani and an extra time France would be champs.

Speaker 1 (34:57):
Right.

Speaker 5 (34:57):
He made an insane, insane save, unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (35:00):
Now, is Messi the goat over Ronaldo? We're going to
go there, Julian, We're going there. I mean, we're going there. Listen, man,
I think I'm a big Ronaldo fan, right, but and
everyone has their you know, debates or their moments on
when the when the debate actually ended, and it really
just depends on what you value in the game, right,

(35:24):
So I don't know why you're laughing at me, But listen, yeah,
I think that Messi at what though? Is he better
than him as an athlete? Because Ronaldo has an athlete's
probably the greatest of all time, greatest who doesn't stop
staring at me?

Speaker 3 (35:38):
Bet?

Speaker 2 (35:38):
I mean, listen, Rinaldo did it in in the Premier League,
in the Seria, in uh LA Liga right in Saudi.

Speaker 5 (35:47):
I mean I'm still doing it. What about Messi though?

Speaker 2 (35:50):
No, listen, I think Ronaldo is the definition of of obsession, right,
but Messi is supernatural, you know, God given abilities. You know,
what he can do with the football is just unheard of,
unseen of. And I mean I don't think the World
Cup ended the debate, per se. I think it happened
maybe in twenty eleven when Messi put up I think

(36:12):
over one hundred goal contributions.

Speaker 5 (36:14):
But everyone kind of, you know, chooses when when it
ended for them.

Speaker 2 (36:19):
Some people like to argue twenty and seventeen, twenty eighteen,
Ronaldo when he won four Champions leagues in five five seasons,
was you know, or Balloonneoto's as well, But we all
know that's somewhat of pr But yeah, no, I mean.

Speaker 5 (36:35):
It's crazy to think about.

Speaker 4 (36:36):
It's I mean, it's you can go down any wormhole
exactly either direction. I mean, I think we're all just
lucky to get to watch both of them, And that's
the correct answer. That's the cool thing. You know, It's
at least we get to watch him at the same time.
You know, another sports you can't really do that. You hear,
Jordan Lebron You'll never see that. Yeah, but uh man,
it's been a treat, especially with the growth of soccer

(36:58):
in the United States. You know, I think they've been
a huge part of that because they're so big internationally
that like everyone.

Speaker 2 (37:06):
Here is like, damn, we know that guy too, you
know what I mean? So have you ever been to Argentina?
I have not been to Argentina. I kind of go, yeah,
I haven't been. I've had you know, I've been to
Argentina at the steakhouses in Mexico. But I mean, I
don't think that counts, right, nay, close, close close Melanessa.
One of my best friends is Argentina and his mom
makes him a Medanessa sandwich with oh every day. I

(37:29):
mean this is good stuff breaded right, yeah, bread and
a little beef, and they fit it out.

Speaker 5 (37:34):
They put a little Swiss on their little mao on
a French roll. Oh shut out, missus Joe shot up,
missus oola, missus oola. What do you think about Argentina
going in this twenty twenty sixth one? Listen? I still
think they have a very strong team.

Speaker 2 (37:48):
Who you know about this is is you know on
fire right now right, And they've got again a mixture
of some of these young games with experienced players.

Speaker 5 (37:56):
They obviously know what it takes to go all the
way and win it.

Speaker 2 (37:59):
I think they're gonna maybe go semi finals, right, But
then I think they'll they'll get matched up with you know,
a powerhouse like like Spain or France, and that's it.

Speaker 5 (38:09):
But imagine if he goes back to back though, if
he goes unbelieve has anyone done that, Has anyone gone
back to back? I don't think so. I don't think
Maybe Brazil he goes back to back is the go.

Speaker 2 (38:23):
I'm just say, let's get into France, Italy, Italy thirty
four and thirty eight, Brazil fifty eight sixty two.

Speaker 5 (38:31):
It looks like wow in the back, but no one
in our lifetimes. Man, that's insane.

Speaker 2 (38:37):
I got a question for you if if if we'renald
the were to win the the World Cup, is ego
or na For me, I don't know enough of the
sport to have an opinion on it.

Speaker 5 (38:50):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (38:51):
I look at both of them, and I'm infatuated with
their craft, the how they take their craft. Rinaldo, like
you said, that is very obsessed. I was with a
guy like that named Tom Brady, who was obsessed with
his craft, who was obsessed with nothing but just doing
the best he can possibly do on the field. MESSI,

(39:14):
like you said, he just naturally looks like it's effortless
to him, and he just turns it on, hits different gears,
and he's as smaller frame and it's not as you know,
like when you look at Ronaldo, you're like, holy shit,
that that guy looks like he's supposed to be Superman.
You look at like Messi, he's like David Man, David

(39:35):
verse Goliath, and this guy knocks out the Goliath every time,
you know. So it's just so fun to get to
watch him.

Speaker 2 (39:41):
So I don't have a go yeah, interesting, you don't
have it, I think, said a whole lot of for
nothing right there.

Speaker 5 (39:49):
Still though, man, they pushed each other, push each other.

Speaker 2 (39:52):
How would Messi's legendary career be what it is if
it wasn't for Ronaldo? Right, Like, you know, they kind
of just they still are I think, I I think
they're still going. Yeah, jump into France, get in the
blue here.

Speaker 6 (40:04):
World ranking fourth, coming into this thing, two time World
Cup champs ninety eight and twenty eighteen, which means they
were the defending champs coming into this. You remember they
beat Croatian in the World Cup final twenty eighteen, coming
off a little bit of a disappointment in the euro
Championships around the sixteen loss to Switzerland there and then
got bounced in the group stage for the last five
World Cups besides the one they won, which is kind

(40:26):
of surprising looking back on it. Injured without some key
guys Pagus out, Benzomos out. But no, I mean this
was again a stacked squad and Bape Jerude Hernandez just
a name of you, Olivia. I mean, this was a
France squad that was pretty much thought as a contender
to win this thing entering.

Speaker 5 (40:45):
We'll be right back after this quick break. Give us
the t of this France squad, this this one right here, Yeah,
this specific France squad.

Speaker 2 (40:54):
I mean, man, they were, they were stacked, right. U's
mondn Ballet, Antoine Griesman Jerud who is it really known
as like one of those insane strikers for club but
for the national team.

Speaker 5 (41:06):
Man, he was always their start and he would always score.
He was an arsenal here.

Speaker 2 (41:10):
Right yeah, yeah, oh look at your ball knowledge. So
I mean, yeah, man, they've got they've got a great
What's good about France is they're really stacked. Always defensively,
they got some big dudes back there, right, so to
score on them ain't easy. And obviously you've got the
new generational players which are in bope, those youngins man.

(41:32):
I mean, those guys are trying to make their story.
Already has a World Cup and yeah, it's gonna be
it's gonna be interesting to see how how how bad
they beat certain countries in my opinion, who's.

Speaker 5 (41:44):
Your favorite French player of all time? My favorite French
player of all time? Man, what a question? What a question.
I'm gonna throw one at you. Just see if you
know this guy, Frank Ribery. Oh, I don't know him.
He was your teams, give me the teams Bayern Munich.
I think I do know him. He played along with

(42:04):
Robin there you go, you do know. But I loved
Robin too.

Speaker 2 (42:10):
Yeah. Yeah, they both were man and they both had
that silky five star skill. Who were they hit that
they were at Lewandowski, Yeah, hit Lewandowski.

Speaker 5 (42:17):
And who was the Mueller? Yeah Gerard Mueller. He's still playing.
Yeah he's in the MLS. But I think Toronto, man,
that was my era.

Speaker 2 (42:26):
Man, watching those guys play scarface Ribbery, that was that
was my guy.

Speaker 1 (42:30):
Bro.

Speaker 5 (42:31):
Well, those Byron teams on FIFA were so fun to
play with.

Speaker 2 (42:35):
I love your ball knowledge because of FIFA, That's so awesome.

Speaker 5 (42:39):
That's honestly how I learned soccer.

Speaker 2 (42:40):
Bro, That's how I know a lot of these countries
is because seeing their flags all the time.

Speaker 4 (42:44):
I'm like, yo, but yeah, that's how I teach my kid.
I play, I go, and I'll play FIFA the night
before the game, and I'm like, we gotta do this.
You gotta get this space. Hey, I need you over here. No,
but did you ever tried playing ball like I played
from four to eight?

Speaker 2 (42:58):
Oh? So yeah, I played four years of socer before
I could play football. If you were if you were
to play a position in soccer, what position do you think?

Speaker 4 (43:06):
I probably would have been a like a midfielder that
or like probably a center mid, center man midfield, maybe
a wing. I'd probably you get around contact, strong, lower body,
quicker than fast.

Speaker 2 (43:21):
Yeah, yeah, a little center mid center, defensive mid maybe
a cam cam right, probably a cam a little pathety.

Speaker 5 (43:28):
I see, would you play? What did I play? I
the bench?

Speaker 2 (43:33):
Now, I'm just kidding. I broke you're the cash. No,
I played left wing, left wing, left mid was my role?
Uh yeah, at the time, I had speed. I'm left footed,
so I was just crossing into the big boy kind
of like you do on pro clubs. And yeah, I
was always right wing assist, so yeah, left, left wing,
left mid amazing.

Speaker 6 (43:54):
All right, Jack, get us in the lead up. All right,
let's get in the lead up of this game. Argentina
came out of Group C. That was Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Poland,
and like we mentioned earlier in this episode, an opening
round loss, first game to Saudi Arabia unheard of. The
Saudis are going nuts in the streets. I mean, all
the guys are getting Bentley's whatever rolls Royces when something

(44:15):
crazy like that.

Speaker 5 (44:17):
So then they get back on track.

Speaker 6 (44:19):
Winning the round to sixteen, beat Australia, be the Netherlands
and the quarterfinals in pks. Then in the semis beat
Croatia three nothing. They're right back in it. The ship
has been written.

Speaker 5 (44:30):
All good.

Speaker 6 (44:31):
Group D for France came out of that bad boy
beat Poland in the round of sixteen three to one, quarterfinals,
beat England. That was another great game. And then in
the semis beat Morocco to nothing to advance to the
finals here and then we gotta we gotta mention. Also,
this was a World Cup played in the fall winter.
Whoa crazy they're usually in because it's so hot.

Speaker 5 (44:51):
How hot was it there? It was so hot?

Speaker 2 (44:52):
It was it was unbearable, man, desert, this is hot
even December eighteenth hot a man, I'm talking like hundreds
dry heat. Yeah, dry dry, dry, so dry desert, bro,
I mean, could you imagine just oh.

Speaker 5 (45:08):
No, I mean that's that's heat. And you were there
a month too, right, yeah, we were there a month?
So how was the food? The food? Listen, I'm a fan, bro,
I'm a fan.

Speaker 2 (45:16):
I'm a big fan.

Speaker 5 (45:17):
I'm not picky whatsoever.

Speaker 2 (45:18):
I had great restaurants, right yeah, yeah, a lot of
Turkish food, you know, kebabs and all that. Oh baby,
oh yeah, good stuff. Now spicy food. I like spicy food.
What games did you go to out there? You didn't
go to the mall, right, I didn't go to the mall.
I followed the US, so I went to US Iran,
and then I went to Netherlands Argentina. I went to

(45:40):
the Mexico games. I went to the Brazil game where
Charlieeson scored a bicycle cake. Oh shit, I got to
see that. That was pretty cool, but the obviously the
most memorable ones where Portugal as well got su Ernaldo
play where the Argentina Netherlands, Argentina Croatia and then the final.

Speaker 5 (45:58):
Geez, that's so sick. I mean you were for a month.
Yeah yeah, yeah. It was a distance like between venues.

Speaker 2 (46:04):
So listen, we actually managed to go to two games
in one day, right, It just it was perfect timing
thirty minutes.

Speaker 5 (46:12):
That's crazy, Are you alive it streaming the whole time?

Speaker 2 (46:14):
Uh no, once you get inside the stadium you can't
because you get you know, copyright and all that stuff.
So but once the game would end, we would turn
the stream on, travel to the next game, and then
turn it off, and then I would just go on
social media and post from there. And yeah, man, I
mean for the final, it was mental because how was
the stadium? They were nice? They were nice, huge loose

(46:35):
Au stadium. The final stadium was was beautiful, but you
could definitely see that some of them were a bit
rushed to make so you get you know, there was
one that was like the container stadium and you could
see quite literally the containers and all that.

Speaker 4 (46:45):
But yeah, they were nice, nothing like out here. Though, Yeah,
what was the atmosphere were people was the crowd and
tuned to it?

Speaker 2 (46:52):
So during the knockout stage, absolutely, but you did see
a lot of how do I say this, a lot
of locals as well that were maybe given like free
tickets for some of the games.

Speaker 6 (47:01):
Right.

Speaker 2 (47:02):
But man, there was a lot of countries that travel
extremely well, Mexico being one of them. There was a
lot of US fans. Argentinians are by far the ones
that travel the most I think, and then obviously the
the Brazilians too.

Speaker 4 (47:14):
So now, who's a country you think would be an
awesome host country that's never hosted?

Speaker 5 (47:22):
An awesome host country that's never hosted?

Speaker 2 (47:26):
Oh? Man, mmm, I think the US is going to
be great. I know people are saying what they want
to say, but I think the US is going to
be fantastic, especially with some of these stadiums where they're
lifting the pitch. I don't know if you've seen Cowboy
Stadium and what they're doing there, what they do, they're
making it, They're lifting it up so that they're getting
rid of all the onfield suites so that it looks
like a Premier league game. You ever watch a Premier

(47:48):
League game? Where like the first row is right by
the sidelines. Oh baby, it's gonna look real sick. They
just put out They just put out as a clip
of how they're lifting it up.

Speaker 4 (47:57):
So you know how you know, it's weak that the
international soccer guys anytime they play in our stadiums, whether
they're grass or not, they have to play on grass.
And our NFL owners won't make all our grass, all
our stadiums grass. Really, yeah, it's like a big thing
right now, the big things because like when like I

(48:21):
remember going to you know, Argentina played a friendly against
Brazil and I got to meet Neymar and Messi at
our stadium and they would come in and they would
put grass fields on our on top of our turf. Yeah,
and then they would pull it out and all the
guys would take the grass put it at their house
because they just throw the grass out. But you know,

(48:41):
the fact or the thing is though, like we want
grass as players because the grass is so much better
for the body, you know what I mean. So seeing
Dallas go out there and make that, I mean it's
kind of like so yeah, Messi when he came to
the MLS, he said he's not playing on turf.

Speaker 2 (48:55):
He's not playing on turf.

Speaker 5 (48:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (48:57):
And he hasn't played on turf. He hasn't played on
turf yea. And people are putting that grass in because
Messi moves needles. He moves lots of needles. Insane, bro
break the game down, Jackie, all right, let's start this
thing off.

Speaker 5 (49:10):
Words, do not do.

Speaker 6 (49:10):
This game just one of the best games of all time.
We will hit the highlights here. Starting off in the
twentieth minute, we break his scoreless tie one nothing.

Speaker 5 (49:21):
We get a messy PK off a de Maria. He beats.

Speaker 6 (49:27):
Wait, hold on Maria on the left side there, gets inside,
gets a little tangled up in the box, goes down.

Speaker 5 (49:34):
PK. Messi's up there. One nothing.

Speaker 2 (49:36):
Let me hear you break that down, You break down
that situation. I mean, first of all, the stadium right
now you can't hear anything. And Argentinians are going absolutely
back crazy. Okay, it's just so loud. Everyone's excited. And
then Messi scores in the final. Messi's one inch closer
now to get his World Cup trophy.

Speaker 5 (49:56):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (49:57):
And then and then and then they go up to
Neil and now everyone in the stadium celebrating going wild, right,
I'm going crazy because I'm like, babe, it's it's going
to happen.

Speaker 5 (50:09):
You know, we just spent thirty grand on these tickets.

Speaker 2 (50:12):
Right, hey baby? Or about we're getting the money's worth.
We're getting our money's.

Speaker 5 (50:16):
Worth, right.

Speaker 2 (50:16):
And in social media at this point is going nuts, right,
Anything that I would post would just get hundreds and
thousands of likes and views and millions, and it's just
going nuts.

Speaker 5 (50:29):
But hold on, there's more nothing scarier than a two
old lead in that second goal in hockey.

Speaker 2 (50:35):
I think that's in all sports man, you know, I
want to hear breaking know what I'm saying, and then
all of a sudden, all of a sudden Messi's trying
to finish his story, right, But in Bapa says no, no, no,
let me start my story.

Speaker 5 (50:48):
Let me start my story.

Speaker 2 (50:50):
He says too too. And I don't know if you
guys remember that goal that in Bapa scored. It was
who was on the volley? First touch, bang, So it
wasn't like tapping, right thing. I think it was like
outside the box, outside the box, eighteen yards eighteen yards, bro,
you know we're cooking at this point. That's all volley yeah, Volley,
just like on pole clothes. Baby.

Speaker 5 (51:10):
So then listen, listen. Remember when I told you that
the stadium was going crazy. Tune it up. Now it's silent.
You could hear heart beats.

Speaker 2 (51:18):
Bro.

Speaker 4 (51:19):
So you're saying most of the stadium was going for
Argentina ninety eight percent.

Speaker 5 (51:26):
Wow, So you only hear from two people the news.

Speaker 2 (51:32):
Exactly was up there he was, he was going nuts
and those two people were on the French National show.
So it gets tied up to too, what are you thinking,
oh man, So you're looking at Babe like fuck the
thirty grand man, you know what I was, and I
was also like it, and Bop is really him and
Bopa is really him? So then they go into extra time. Right,

(51:56):
we didn't just get ninety minutes, We're getting one hundred
and twenty minutes, so.

Speaker 4 (52:00):
It goes the extra time. What do you strap up?
How the stadium? What are your mental notes? How are
you feeling this time? And how is the social doing?
What are people saying on social?

Speaker 2 (52:12):
So so, by the way, when Messi scored in regular time,
if you go back and watch the footage, I'm row one.
He gets on his knees right in front of me.
So if I like, if I just reach over, I
could touch him and tap him. Two times they happened
that game. And so did you smell him? I could
smell him, dude.

Speaker 5 (52:29):
I bet you he smelled.

Speaker 2 (52:31):
He probably has a good clone that he will listen.
The game was to get a good whiff, right. The
ball boy recognized me and he kept like throwing me
the ball just to like play catch with him and stuff.
So I was just like kind of messing around, and
I'm like, man, if I asked this guy like, yo,
I can I wash the game down? There?

Speaker 5 (52:47):
Is that cool? Right?

Speaker 3 (52:48):
But no?

Speaker 2 (52:49):
So the stadium was was silent after the draw, right
after the two to two, but then all of a sudden,
the Argentina fans said, man, if we're gonna win this,
we need to be loud. Wow. And then it got
the three times louder than it was at the start
of the game or when they went up to nail.

Speaker 4 (53:04):
Oh my god, So is this golden goal? Ru By, Now, No,
this is just extra time. There is no golden There's
no golden goal. So you have five explain the extra time.

Speaker 2 (53:12):
Extra time is fifteen minutes each half, right, if it's
tied you go to penalties, right, if one team is leading,
they win. So then that's when Messi gets a go
ahead goal right second of the three to two an
extra time second of the game, hundred and eighth minute, So.

Speaker 4 (53:30):
Then you have one hundred and eighth minutes, so they
have a little baby halftime and then they go into
fifteen minutes again, so they have one goal lead going
into the back fifteen.

Speaker 5 (53:40):
Oh yeah, so what's going on then? What's how is
the crowd are they like?

Speaker 4 (53:44):
I mean, everyone's going crazy again, everyone's going wild. So
is Argentina playing at that point not to lose the game?

Speaker 2 (53:55):
Yes?

Speaker 5 (53:55):
Or are they playing to win the game?

Speaker 2 (53:57):
No, No, they're they're they're wasting time, they're trying, they're
trying to hold on just to win the game. That's over.
What's Imbape doing in this? What's Imbape doing? Give me
the ball? He's asking for the ball, he's demanding. He
wants to take over the game.

Speaker 5 (54:08):
So is Himothy Charlameaga gonna take over the game? What happens?

Speaker 2 (54:11):
It's so so that so that France get a penalty
two minutes before the match ends, all right, and Bopa
buries it.

Speaker 4 (54:23):
Timothy Himothy three to three, So it's three three and
that eighteenth minute, so there's twelve more minutes to go,
right or no more minutes more minutes ago, and then
extra time, no, two more minutes ago and then pens.
It's three three in extra time they ultimate, don't you
get the additional time?

Speaker 2 (54:43):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (54:43):
Yeah, so with two minutes.

Speaker 2 (54:45):
And then additional time, yeah, it could be five, could
could be five, could be a little bit.

Speaker 5 (54:50):
Yeah, So how does it go?

Speaker 2 (54:51):
I mean, dude, right there, it's just everyone's just like,
no pens, no pens. But if you're a casual, which
everyone on social media at this point they were demanding penalties,
that's the perfect way to end the game. But the
problem with penalties is, I mean, he is a coin toss,
a coin toss, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (55:10):
So how's it end?

Speaker 2 (55:12):
They go into pens and what I think, by the way,
somewhere in that extra time I think it was like
maybe yeah it was when it was three to three.
So on the one hundred and nineteenth minute, ish coolon
Jana gets an opportunity. It's just him throw on goal
to one v one bro Emmi Leano Martinez gets folded,

(55:33):
but he like opens up his his leg and he
saves it. That's the determining factor of the game. That's
clutch genes from Emmi Martinez, Argentina's goalkeeper. Okay, so I
told my wife, Hey, if they go to Penns, there's
no chance that Argentina lose because of Emmi Martinez. He's
a menace, dude. He's talking shit to the guy about
to take depens right. Sure enough, he saves like two, right,

(55:57):
and then Argentina makes them buries it man. And that
moment right there, that was just that was spot. That
was just chills throughout the spine because you saw Messi
not like he just fell to his knees.

Speaker 5 (56:12):
You know, he finally did it. He finally got his
World Cup. Everyone crying.

Speaker 2 (56:16):
People were crying, just bawling their eyes out because it's like,
you couldn't believe that Messi had finally won the World Cup,
the fashion in which they did it, extra time and
then penalties, and then everyone also saw how insane Embapis
stepped up that they were like, bro, this guy's just

(56:36):
gonna keep scoring, and he did.

Speaker 5 (56:38):
He scored a hatrick.

Speaker 4 (56:40):
Reminds me of the twenty eighteen AFC championship, Tom Brady
versus Patrick Mahomes, Patrick having an outstanding football game, still
not being able to take the torch from Tom Brady
at that point of time.

Speaker 5 (56:56):
Little changing in the guard, change guard. Very similar, isn't
it similar?

Speaker 2 (57:01):
Man?

Speaker 5 (57:02):
Sports are badass.

Speaker 4 (57:03):
Sports are amazing. God, So Argentina wins. Stadium's nuts. You're
looking at why if you guys spend thirty grand on tickets?
It's the best thirty grand we've ever spent in our life.
I mean, what do we do after the game? So
I was, I was, I was like in shock for
a little bit. Right after the game. Competti everywhere.

Speaker 2 (57:26):
Yeah, man, there's streets of kuttar outside the stadium. Were
just surrounded. Man, just crazy. And they did a mini
little bus tour with the Argentina fans. So we're just
kind of like staring, like, Wow, this actually really happened.
This is so sick it it felt amazing to witness.

Speaker 5 (57:41):
I was vlogging.

Speaker 2 (57:42):
I just wanted to get everything I was feeling, because
not everyone can say they were at the you know,
World Cup final. So it's one of those opportunities that
kind of came about from Like we started the conversation
me sitting in my room playing video games.

Speaker 5 (57:57):
So it just felt like, man, this is this is
where it kind of deal. You know, it's crazy where
life goes.

Speaker 2 (58:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (58:03):
Yeah, when hard work and opportunity meet, buddy, and that's
what you've been doing.

Speaker 5 (58:07):
Yeah, thank you. That's why you got to go to the.

Speaker 4 (58:10):
World Cup, get to witness one of the greatest matches
of all time. How about the damn celebrations in Argentina?
Do they burn that place down almost? You see that
for a million in the streets. How do you even
manage that? Like, how do you manage so many people?
Can gathering just come together?

Speaker 5 (58:27):
Unbelievable. Put a ball on it, just to put a
ball on this one. Argentina won four to two and kicks.

Speaker 6 (58:33):
This game immediately broke the internet, hailed is an instant classic,
and Bob became just the second player in World Cup
history to have a hat trick in the final, joining
Jeffers back in nineteen sixty six England. Messi finally got
his World Cup named Player of the Match. Argentina got
their third World Cup, first since Maridona in eighty six.

(58:53):
As we mentioned earlier, Messi got the Golden Ball Enzo
Fernandez one FIFA Young Player of the Match or of
the Tournament a ward.

Speaker 5 (59:00):
Amelia Martinez.

Speaker 6 (59:02):
Ameliona Martinez, unbelievable World Cup of course, wins golden glove,
goes viral for his celebration. You can look that one up.
We all remember that, and uh Argentina went nuts. Bro
celebrations everywhere, four million the streets. You know what, we
got a Maradonia. I get into like a wormhole of
him just warming up for like three hours Instagram. Sit

(59:25):
and just watch Macedonia warming up. I mean, that guy
was a legend.

Speaker 2 (59:30):
He does it with so much ease too, right, He's
just juggling, like just playing with the balls. I don't
even I can do that with my hands, let alone
my my, you know, shoes aren't even tied.

Speaker 4 (59:39):
Yeah, this guy's just out here. I don't His warm
up was like he was amazing. All right, let's name
the game and score the game. Is this the greatest
game of all time? Let's score it. Remember decimals are encouraged.
We came up with these group of names. If you
have a name that you have in your head, will
use that. We came up with with Messi versus m

(01:00:00):
Bape Messi's last dance, the greatest World Cup Final ever,
Messi's coronation.

Speaker 5 (01:00:07):
This one's for Messiah. Which one do you like or
do you have something that you and your friends call it?

Speaker 2 (01:00:16):
I would go with I like the greatest World Cup
Final ever, the greatest World Cup Final ever.

Speaker 5 (01:00:23):
I love it. We'll be right back after this quick break.
Let's score it.

Speaker 2 (01:00:28):
The stakes of the greatest World Cup Final ever zero
to ten decimals encouraged the stakes of this match. I'm
so excited to hear your thoughts because I listened to
the hockey one and you wanted shootouts, Julian. So I'm
gonna go with I'm gonna go with nine point eight.
Nine point eight. If it was Ronaldo, maybe i'd give

(01:00:50):
it a ten point now.

Speaker 4 (01:00:51):
You know steaks. Okay, the stakes are very high for
this and for the my with my explanation being Messi,
this could have this could have been his last time
ever doing it. We didn't know that he was still
gonna play, and he's still messy right now. So Argentina France,

(01:01:14):
two huge names, World Cup, huge final. I'm gonna go
with the nine point two. The stakes of this match.
It'd be higher if it was going for something more
more historically record breaking. If MESSI was going for a
back to back then you know.

Speaker 7 (01:01:32):
Or you know what I ma, former teammates, this is
once a four year tournament. Two big dogs like higher than.

Speaker 5 (01:01:44):
This off nine that's the high. That's the highest, your highest,
he knows, mad Now star power.

Speaker 4 (01:01:53):
There's gonna be a lot of star power in this
bad boy zero to ten decimals encouraged in bot.

Speaker 2 (01:01:58):
Bitch on many Messy de Maria, Emmy raw Yodi's to
his last World Cup goalkeeper for France. Let's go with nine.
It can't be nine point nine because it's nine five.
Nine point five also got presidents in the building. You
Elon Musk is there right this guy, there's a lot of.

Speaker 5 (01:02:22):
Come on.

Speaker 4 (01:02:23):
I mean, I'm a casual and I knew like half
the team, you know. I mean that tells you how
big the damn star. I'm a casual. I knew like
all the names. So it's got to be about nine
to five for me. I mean three, what am I doing?

Speaker 5 (01:02:40):
These guys? I went nine point four? I think I'm
sure these By the way, these are like record breaking
numbers for everyone. Is gonna be huge.

Speaker 2 (01:02:50):
This is.

Speaker 4 (01:02:51):
I mean the gameplay. If you're looking for gameplay, this
is a good gameplay. Okay, you have to go first
on this one. I can't wait to see what you
give it for me.

Speaker 2 (01:02:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:03:00):
Remember shootouts, shootouts, shootouts and stars holding on a high level.
You want to shootouts you, I gotta I gotta go
ninety six. That's great, that's a really good score.

Speaker 2 (01:03:09):
Drama, like, that's two minutes rules not high enough though,
come on, that is high k p K shootouts, Patrick
to go drama.

Speaker 5 (01:03:17):
Even then, it's about to be the highest scoring game
we've ever seen. It's even a comeback to Argentina was
up to Oh it was a comeback.

Speaker 2 (01:03:26):
Yeah, the comeback extra time give I mean, listen, I
don't want six is huge? Bro, Again, that's huge, that's
not that's an eight plus almost true.

Speaker 5 (01:03:38):
True.

Speaker 2 (01:03:38):
I'm gonna go with nine to nine nine because I'm
not going to give it a ten.

Speaker 5 (01:03:43):
Right, there we go. He agrees with, Wow, go another
nine nine, guy, guy, I went nine three? Yea n nine?
I got what store?

Speaker 2 (01:03:50):
What more?

Speaker 5 (01:03:51):
What more do you want out of a game?

Speaker 2 (01:03:53):
It is?

Speaker 5 (01:03:53):
What makes it's hard? What what makes it? What does
it need to? What needs to happen in.

Speaker 4 (01:03:59):
Six could be potentially the highest score I've ever given
a game.

Speaker 5 (01:04:03):
I know, I know.

Speaker 2 (01:04:03):
But what needs to happen in that World Cup Final
for it to become a nine point eight for you.

Speaker 4 (01:04:09):
A nine nine point eight to maybe ten. There needed
to be an alien come down on the field.

Speaker 5 (01:04:15):
Streaker.

Speaker 2 (01:04:18):
I need to see you have a streaker, alright, streaker.
There was a streaker, Michael Berry, though I don't know
they were. If MESSI buried it before pks, like in
the last thirty seconds, I think we would get there.
Shoot I love to shootout like cheap. You're right, You're

(01:04:38):
totally right.

Speaker 1 (01:04:39):
You're right.

Speaker 5 (01:04:39):
We almost had that extra Simon regulation. More drama. All right,
let's move on to the name. We grade the name
of the game. This name the greatest World Cup Final ever.

Speaker 7 (01:04:50):
Also the cultural relevance, how people will think about this game,
remember this game forever from.

Speaker 2 (01:04:55):
The greatest World Cup Final ever. I mean that's pretty
self explained, toy. I'm going to go at nine point
because I chose I gotta go with nine point seven.

Speaker 5 (01:05:07):
I mean it's probably gonna be a nine to five
for me.

Speaker 4 (01:05:10):
Which remember, people will remember this game forever because because
MESSI this is this could be Messy's only one.

Speaker 5 (01:05:21):
It could be and he's you know what I mean?
So this is are you okay?

Speaker 3 (01:05:25):
You?

Speaker 5 (01:05:25):
I don't know why before we knew, before I knew
what we were gonna name it. Can I change? Yeah?
All right, all right, let me get let me get
up in the nine. Come on now, this is all.

Speaker 2 (01:05:36):
You're gonna're gonna see. Right, We're gonna see where it
lands on the list. I need to castro ges mad
we we might guys. Hold on here, Okay, it's not
Is that a top super high?

Speaker 5 (01:05:49):
Is that top one? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:05:50):
That might be top one.

Speaker 5 (01:05:51):
That's number one. I did nine point one just because
it's too It's still a little early. This game just happened.
We don't know how we're gonna be received in the
year in the future. Okay, nine point new number one game.

Speaker 2 (01:06:03):
Wow, number one game, just ahead of the international bump
of football, right one month away from the twenty twenty
six Yorld Cup. One month away. This feels fitting number
one game and not very let's holy shmoy, everyone hit

(01:06:26):
the comment section.

Speaker 5 (01:06:27):
Let us know what you think. Crazy, holy, we might
need to pop a bottle of champagn or something my whole.

Speaker 2 (01:06:33):
Baby number one can see man, Wow, Castro, we miss
anything from this number one greatest Final World Cup ever
in this history of all games with names. I think
we covered all of it. Man, all right, I think uh,
I want to end on on don't let dreams be dreams.

(01:06:53):
I still can't believe I'm sitting here with y'all talking
about this game.

Speaker 5 (01:06:56):
Man. That is an absolute honor. So explain that. Don't
let dream be dreams? What's that mean?

Speaker 2 (01:07:01):
