Speaker 2 (01:05):
Oh Shit The Wrizzler. God, I really did not start
exercising at that point. I look like fucking shit in
a basketball jersey.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
That's the first thing I saw when I saw you
on stage. I was like, you look lean like, your
face looks skinny, like in a good way.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
I was like, I finally start doing weights, dude, It's
why my neck isn't fucked up anymore. But uh, dude,
the Wrizzler. That was a fucking hilarious game. Dude, I
still get fucking I still get shipped. Yeah, the Wrizzler,
the crowd went nuts. I mean you think you think,
you think like Amari or any of these former players
getta pop and then the Wrizzler comes out. You're like,
(01:40):
this is the fucking star.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
Kid.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
It's broken.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
It'll be like Drew Barrymore though, he's gonna be fucking
He's gonna be fucked up.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
I mean, someone had a good one that said, he's
like very much like an eighties star like celebrity.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
The difference is he doesn't have a talent. I mean
that's the weird thing is like, usually you have to
have some talent. He's got no fuck talent. He just
does this shit like we had to. We had to
tell and Greg fitz Simmons on with him, and they
were like like, but what does he do? And We're
like we can't explain it, Like we tried to explain
the Whizzler to a sixty year old guy.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
I was watching it explaining it, so like, how did
you book him?
Speaker 3 (02:14):
Wait?
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Are we on already?
Speaker 3 (02:15):
Yeah, we're going.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
How do we book the Wrizzler?
Speaker 2 (02:18):
We I don't know, Yeah, I played in this wet
We kept thinking how funny the Wrizzler is, and Mark
and I kind of became obsessed with just a child
who's famous for just this and being cute and chubby,
and we just liked it.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
And then I played in the MSG game with him.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
Are you able to check the files for you?
Speaker 1 (02:36):
The files? You know?
Speaker 2 (02:38):
Cut chubby kids, chubby kids, that's my type. No, he
just he was on our team. Bit of a defensive liability.
Don't want to call him out. I was like, you
got to pick up a mari on defense, Jesus.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
But uh, it's three feet tall.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
It's by These games are humiliating because like I can't check.
I don't care if he's fifty. I'm not checking Allan Houston.
The hell is happening? This guy doesn't miss a shot.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
So you're talking about the celebrity Knicks game.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
Yeah, I use the word celebrity very lightly because I
was called, what.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
Are you talking about? You and the wrestler big time?
Let's go oh in that that boom dad, the guy
who was.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
Like boom yeah, my mom, my mom and my friend
Chase to that to that game that that uh charity
game regarded dreams, and my mom was like, why are
they famous.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
I'm like, it doesn't just forget, it doesn't matter. The
crazy thing is that the social probably popped insane for
their channels. Totally yeah, and it was it and they
got every bit of what they wanted out of inviting
all those people. Oh my god, look at him. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
True Detective season four right there. This is the crew,
the Wrizzler and Amari.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
All right, let's start this. Let's start this thing. Ready,
give me a Today we are looking at the first
round of the twenty twenty four NBA Off NBA Playoffs sevens. First,
the Knicks Game two with the one and only starter
of this show helped us start this show, helped us
(04:10):
get this show on the go, killing it right now
in the comedy world. We had some memories together, We've
had some memories, a lot of memories. Sam Morel's here
in the night house. Who he is? Back? Sammy? In
one sentence, why did you pick this game? Well, it's
a recent playoff game with the Knicks. It's like, I'm
thinking of my high of my high points as a
(04:31):
Knicks fan. The LJ four point play was in contention.
I wasn't at that game.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
I was at this game, So this was like crazy
to be at this game for you know, Philly, definitely
in Northeast rival and this series really made me hate
Joe El Embiid, Like every Knicks fans like, fuck you
hear fucking bead chance and there's little kids being like
fuck Embeid, fuck Embid, and You're like hell yeah, so yeah,
(05:00):
I mean this game was epic. All the analysts always
picked the Knicks to lose. Healthy Embiid is obviously a problem,
but he's never healthy, and it became kind of a
dirty series Embiid. There's a famous picture him trying to
pull Mitch's leg down. There's the he kicked Hardenstein and
the nuts. We were down. This game was supposed to
be over and we went up two oho, So it
was a pretty badass start to the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Is it the greatest game of all time?
Speaker 2 (05:24):
No, but I wasn't alive for the greatest Knicks game
of all time? What is willis Reied limping out of
the court and the Knicks beating the Lakers in the finals.
That's that's the iconic Knicks game. We haven't won it
over fifty years. So as Knicks fans, we'll take a
first round playoff game.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
That's what we take.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
Hey, we ask, ever, we ask all our guests. You
know that.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
You know that.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
So what are you doing in La? What's this Netflix?
As a joke? How's this been? Dude?
Speaker 2 (05:48):
It's been what we did? The we did the I
was the first year I was invited to the brunch
this year for the Netflix Festival.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
We made it. You see some really famous people. They
really Oh what is the Netflix Brunch? I've heard about
this on social Is this It's.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
At Ted Sorrandos, his his home. So it's beautiful, beautiful home.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Yeah? Is it overlooking something?
Speaker 2 (06:07):
Is it like? Does it have views? Are reviews? I
mean no, It's a classic La party where you're like,
I've heard.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
Of bel Air.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
We're hidden, are weiden? I didn't even know where we
were the house you want to go? Yeah, I was
blindfolded and no.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
I got there and it was Eddie Murphy, Seinfeld, Letterman,
Sandler like every every big dog in comedy, uh, jelly Roll,
every big comedian and uh but it was pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
Yeah it was. It was wild, So what is it?
It kind of reminds me of like the owners meetings, Wes,
you know, the head coaches all get together at the
barbecue at you know, Jay's barbecue or whatever. They have
the team photo, like who is like who's the big
dog running the brunch? Like who's the comic that everyone's
like surrounding? Who's the guy that you're this is your
(06:58):
first one, so you're kind of yeah, I mean, who's
the who's the who's the big swinging dick in there?
It's probably what Jerry.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
Or all those guys, Sandler, all those guys. Yeah, when
you're talking to them, you just feel people like it's
like it's like a hot girl at the bar. You're like, fuck,
I better, I better close quickly here You're like, I
got I gotta.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
Impressed sand Man here. But uh yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
The Seinfelds they offered to fly me back of their
jet to New York today.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
Why didn't you go?
Speaker 2 (07:25):
Because we're doing this this fucking I love that. You
know what's great about the Seinfelds too? She goes, why
she my friend goes, I'm with my friend Mark. Normandy goes,
it was an empty gesture. I go, I don't think
it was empty. I think the seinfeld We start talking
like them. I think the Seinfelds wanted to fly me back,
and he goes it was empty.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
I go, it wasn't empty.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
And then I get back to the hotel and and
Jessica Seinfeld text me, so you're coming on the jet
tomorrow morning. I go, I'm doing Julian Edelman's podcast.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
I can't.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
And she writes back, I love him. She follows me, yeah,
she's a fan, so so they got her. Let go,
let's go, man.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
He recently turned us down to come on the show.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
Jerry, Dude, we'll get get Jerry. Jerry.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
Jerry could hit a Mets game or something. You'll get
him at some point.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
Decent pros pro I mean, you know, it's Jerry.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
Fuck.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
It's years of us to like nudge him to get
him on our pod. But he did it.
Speaker 3 (08:15):
It was a great episode.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
It was a good one. Jerry's He's awesome. He classic.
Who was Chappelle there? He was Chappelle. So I didn't
say anything. I was a little uncomfortable because I recently
text him to be the movie that you're in. Julian
is I made a movie. It's gonna be on Netflix
next year. Julian is incredible in the movie he steals.
He's so funny in the scene, to the point that like,
I send it to my manager recently a cut and
(08:37):
she goes, holy shit, Julian Edelman, that's the text I get.
He's so fucking funny in it, and uh, I took
a swing. Chappelle's give me his phone number when he's drunk,
and I'm like, instead of being like he made a mistake,
I'm like time to cash in. So I had an
idea that Chappelle bumps my friend in the movie, and
(08:58):
I pitched it to him and uh left me unread.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
So I was like, let me just try to avoid
him at this party and the rest of my life.
Speaker 1 (09:08):
So you didn't say anything to him, no.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
Contact, No, he didn't see me, but I, uh, I'm
trying to dodge He's He's been very friendly in the past,
where like he'll see me and stuff and be like, oh,
really funny stuff, and I'm like, oh yeah. Instead of
thinking like this guy's drunk and probably said that to everyone,
I was like, I am pretty funny, and then uh yeah,
I threw the.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
Hail married text. Hey you know what if you don't ask, amen,
don't yet, what did Jordan say he missed one hundred
shots you don't take or is that.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
One of the greats?
Speaker 4 (09:39):
Yeah, you missed one of the shots.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
You don't take. But Chappelle says when he's drinking too,
I don't keep yeah no, I uh yeah, I gave
it a shot. But uh, you know, but.
Speaker 1 (09:50):
The movie is really good. So what do you do
at the brunch? Do you guys just eat? How much?
The spread a lot of stress eating. I'm gonna be honest.
They felt like they were pandering a little bit to
the black comedians with the scrow oh fried chicken waffles.
I was like, if you get.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
Grape juice, I'm gonna call you, right sis, I swear to.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
God grape soda. Sorry, but uh.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
But you know it was I mean, Luk, who doesn't
love fried chicken and waffles. I had a ton of it.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
It was pretty good.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
I was hoping for a little more of a brunch
spread because it was in the afternoon.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
It was hot as hell.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
Louis Ckz eating the fried chicken, He's sweating through the shirt.
I was like, this feels like an episode of Louis.
He says something like, I'm like, Louis, you're sweating everywhere.
You gotta wear a dark shirt to these things. But
uh yeah, no it was it was Who's who?
Speaker 1 (10:29):
It was?
Speaker 2 (10:31):
No Omelet station. I was hoping for an Omelet station.
I want Anomalis. I love an homelets station. Who doesn't
love an Omelett station. You feel healthy, you get to customize.
Customizing is huge. It's everything, or even courtyard. Mary's got
an omlald station? Now, come on, man, does it? I
don't know some of those. Some of those do, I swear.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
But then they hit you with that bill.
Speaker 2 (10:50):
The hotel I'm at right now, it's it's fine, it's
not super fancy or anything. But they had a buffet
and then you get hit with that bill and you're like, oh,
this was all you can eat?
Speaker 1 (10:58):
It was all it was. Price. Food is expensive right now,
It's crazy. It is outrageous. Is Netflix plain for the hotel? No?
Speaker 2 (11:06):
But they give you, they give you a good And
I'm with Mark, who's the cheap Mark Norman, one of
my best friends, is the cheapest dude on the planet.
I didn't know, so he oh, it's insane. So he
finds a deal. He's like, I got us a deal.
So his manager booked my I'm like, that's not his
manager's job. And he's like book Sam's room too. So
I got a deal, good deal. Yeah, Mark is always
working it, man, So what else do you do in Netflix?
Speaker 3 (11:29):
Is a joke?
Speaker 2 (11:30):
Week I'm doing apparently I'm doing a crowd work show
for with Burt Kreisch.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
I hate, I'm so sick of crowd work.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
But I'm doing a CrowdWork show for Burt Kreischer and
uh it's Burden Shack. So I was like, we'll see
what happens. I'm a little nervous. I've never met Shack.
I was supposed to do his podcast last year and
I got COVID and I was like, I don't want
to kill Shack. I feel like if I go there
and like, you know myself, like a big guy, you
feel like you get him sick, it could be bad.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
That was like the thing that came out when I
played during COVID. Yeah, So like the thing was was,
you know, how are the big guys gonna handle it?
If they get COVID on the field, they we might
have someone drop die and die on the field. Like
it was all because the big guys, you know, their
whole system. Yeah, bullshit.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
But yeah, I just was like, I don't want to
be that. I didn't even feel that bad, but I
was like, I don't want to give it. You just
feel like you still feel like a dick if you
give it to something.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
Oh yeah, so.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
You got a Diesel crowd work? How do you prepare
for CrowdWork? You can?
Speaker 2 (12:27):
You just got to read the room, I guess. Yeah,
so we did that. We did the show last night
you were at and I did. I popped up on
Mark's show and I was supposed to do it when
a Matt Raife did a show and I was doing
a podcast down stay at the store. There's too much
going on. So Matt's like, I guess said to someone
in He's like, come up. But we were doing a
podcast with Bobby Lee, so I couldn't get out and
I bailed on that and then they replaced me with
(12:48):
Kevin Hart. So I was like, all right, you won
that trade that worked out? Uh and then uh yeah,
and then I'm mad of here tomorrow. I'm only here
a few days, but LA for a few days, it's
like it's so much drinking and so much like after
I try you guys, I ended up with the store. Yeah,
and I saw like every comic was hammered and I
ended up going on stage at two am at the
store store o R.
Speaker 1 (13:09):
So that that was pretty fun. That's gotta be fun, though,
comedy super Bowl for comedy. Now, No, there's no what
is the super Bowl? Comic comic con?
Speaker 3 (13:19):
Is there a comic Con?
Speaker 1 (13:21):
I guess, uh no, the super Bowl?
Speaker 2 (13:24):
I guess it's just when you do a special that's
like your super Bowl, you know, So.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
This is kind of what is this like in the NFL?
Is just like draft? There's no no, there's no a
week before the super Bowl, all the parties, all the events. No.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
I just taped the special, so I feel like I
got no material. I feel like I'm in that point
right now, and it's like, so this feels like the
off season for me right now, where you know. After
I taped the special, I was running on the road
so hard and my agent was like, please just take
time off. The it's a bad sign when your agent
is like stop. So I start. He's like, take time
off and just live your life. And then I just
got hammered for like a week straight and my stomach
(14:01):
was feeling fucked up, and I got endoscopy and the
doctor's like, you need to stop drinking for at least
a month, and I was like.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
I need the road. The road was keeping me alive.
Speaker 3 (14:09):
Dude.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
Yeah, so you're so how do you prepare now? Like,
how do you get ready to get new jokes after
doing a special? Is just you're just living. You live life.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
You just got to like that's what all the guys
I look up to have told me. They're like, get
off the road and live life and get stories and
like feel stuff. And yeah, I just taped the new
one for Netflix, and then I'm I've got like maybe
twelve minutes of material right now. You know, it takes
like a year and a half two years to write
a new hour, and I feel like, uh, it'll get there.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
It just it takes time. Man. It's likely a half
two years to make an hour, yeah, because you just.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
Want to make sure it's polished and you want to
take it throughout the country. And at this point, I go,
I toured the world, like, you know, I'm going back
to Europe this. I went to Europe last year where
last year I did all over Europe, and they'd like London, Paris, Dublin, Berlin,
Amsterdam is always great. I love your your Butch the
(15:05):
Butcher poster.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
Yeah, where else all over the Liverpool was wild. I
had like an all nighter there that was any soccer games.
I didn't.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
My buddy runs Newcastle and he used to work for
the Knicks, so he offered, but we couldn't make.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
It's it's tough. They keep you on a schedule one thousand.
I mean, you guys, your comics life is so crazy.
You guys are on the road twenty four to seven.
Speaker 2 (15:28):
Yeah, but you guys are doing the road and you're
physic like you're in pain. I mean, it's it's athlete
is I can't imagine, especially with like the NBA players
do where they're the schedule, the amount.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
Of games in six it's a lot. It's all crazy.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
But then uh yeah, And this year I'm going back
and I'm doing like starting in Lisbon. I'm going to
places I just have never been. I've never been to Poland,
I've never been to I've never been a Vienna, I've
never been a Budapest, and never been a Croatia.
Speaker 1 (15:52):
Poland. Yeah, really, Schwitz Bro, they're doing it again in
the world lately.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
No, I know, I feel like the places are antisemitic
now are like are almost like surprising, Like it's not
the places you would just think.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
No that the countries that are. We won't get into this.
Speaker 4 (16:13):
It just to try the hamburgers in the gas stations
at Poland really yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
They're supposed to be really good. Damn Yeah. Well, Jewles
and I are like the two spectrum. This is like
a spectrum of what a jew can look like like tall.
I remember changing next to Julian when we would bank
these shows back in the day and being like, I
got to get my fucking life together. You changed next
to this guy, Like, holy shit, he's not talking about
my piece. I'm talking about his peace too. I'm trying.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
I couldna find a way to get my piece to
look more like jewels too. Oh my god. No, it's
it's a weird time in the world. It is. It
is definitely a weird time. That's why comedy is so great,
because it gives us a way to get away from everything,
gives us an outlet to laugh at ourselves, laugh at people,
and kind of just have that con we need it.
(16:58):
That's what Ted Saranda's I talked to him for. But yesterday.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
I'd never met him, and he goes, you know, I
always defend comics because we need comedy, and uh, you know,
you even look at something as terrible as the Holocaust,
we got jokes out of it. And I said, almost
seems like it was worth it, you know.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
And now now you're running around Netflix is a joke. Yeah,
you see every comic. You're a big ball knower, you
know ball? Yeah, who are other comics that know ball?
Other comics you know ball? You know them?
Speaker 2 (17:29):
Santino, Andrew Santino, Dan Soder, Christ Stefano. Uh, Chris Rock
knows ball. I mean he's always at games and stuff,
and uh geez, I'm trying to think Sandlor Sandlor knows ball.
Sanlors got weird allegiances though. Sandler's like Yankees Jets.
Speaker 3 (17:48):
That weird from New Hampshire.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
Yeah, but like it's usually Yankees, Giants, Mets, Jets. I mean,
thankfully Yankees. She gets Mets and Jets is tough. Oh yeah,
that's kind of I remember walking.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
In the city with Julian.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
We remember we'd be like tearing it up some nights
and people be like fuck you. And it's kind of
a cool level because like, you know, you're a beast
when you're in another city and they're like, you piece
of shit, you fucked up my Sundays. Like he's at
that level of like trolling New York fans, but they're always.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
Nice at the end, totally. They'd always but they'd always
show a level of respect. No, well you can. I
love the New York fans.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
We had to respect the Patriots always. I mean you guys,
your teams were incredible.
Speaker 1 (18:30):
Man, Like, have you been seeing the content on these
Knicks fans lately against Philly? Yeah, we got to dilot
back a little. It's a miss. I want to see
Sam in one of those sidewalk talk videos. I'll do it.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
I love Knicks fans, but like you got the premature celebrations,
like don't jinx us. That's what I would be respectful
to these other fan bases, Like, yeah, I hate the Sixers,
but I respect tyres Maxy a lot. Like he's a
hell of a player, edge comes very good. I just
really don't like Joe El Embiid. When some of these
Knicks fans, it's like, dude, there's too many. There's too
much talk after every game. I have to hear like,
(19:04):
I hate these fake fans too, like the steven A's
who are just trashing the team all year and then
they're like, my Knicks and we're like, oh, Knicks fans
don't like steven A. Knicks fans look at steven A
the way he's like, is he a Knicks fan? Yes,
but he's a Knicks fan the way like Epstein's a
jew technically.
Speaker 1 (19:21):
But we're not thrilled about it.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
You know, he gives us a There's so much talking,
there's so much like every game, it's like, like the
Knicks fucked. Is Michale Bridges worth of five picks? We
did it? So just let it be like he's And
also they always turn on Michale and then what does
he do to the Celtics last year?
Speaker 1 (19:40):
Game one and two, Game five?
Speaker 2 (19:42):
Those those think about Michale Bridges jump shot, it's so weird,
you don't Sometimes when he's like in motion he looks
like Kevin Durant, but when he's like catch and shoot,
he looks like Bill Cartwright with that weird fucking release.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
You're like, so you never know what he's gonna give you.
I mean, so we're feeling good about the Knicks going
into this thing as long as he is healthy.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
If he's healthy, I feel great because Og is our
He's our MVP right now. The two way play of
Og out of ob is. I mean, I love that guy.
He's got he's like a motionless my friend said he
was at a dinner with him and he was explaining
all the antics of the Knicks. And you know, Brunching
is like a psycho just cutting his steak. Josh Hart's like,
you know, doing his thing, and then uh, he pans
(20:22):
over and OG's got his hood up, playing like PSP
or something. He's just locked in. He's like a kid.
He's just like I gotta just focus at all times.
And I mean he's he's like reminds me a little
bit of Kuai. So he's so ice cold.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
I love him. We'll be right back after this quick
break is So, do you think that the Knicks are
going to win this series? I think Wow.
Speaker 2 (20:44):
I don't know when this episode comes out, but yeah,
I feel I feel good about the Yeah, hopefully I
feel good about it.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
You know, Embiid is so good when he's healthy, but
he's never healthy. He hasn't been healthy for five straight
games and years that's that's insane. It's insane, and he is.
It's one of the ultimate like sad. People might talk
about him the same way you talk about a guy
like grand Hill or Penny Hardaway, who like should be
you know, their talented as good as anyone Penny, but
you know, yeah Penny. So differences Penny and grand Hill
(21:13):
are just way cooler personalities. And b it is just
such an unlikable personality to me. He's made to root for.
Oh yeah, plus he wears sketchers. What are we doing?
Speaker 1 (21:21):
Does he wear? The sketchers are cool? I think how
Long wears sketches that they were kind of cool. I
think they look better than you think they would.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
Yeah, the ones and Julius randled us too, and we
still have Julius was on this team that we're talking
about in this game. I mean, the Knicks are Yeah,
we're ready. I feel good. Detroit is going to be tough.
Detroit completely owned us this whole series. Uh, they've got
the toughness Detroit to give it a run. But dude,
(21:56):
as every Knicks fan says, everyone's better than Jalen Brunston
until it's time to be better than Jalen Brunson, He's unreal.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
You guys, remember how much I was hyping five years ago.
I was so hyped hip I was like killed. And
here's my logic.
Speaker 2 (22:09):
A lot of people shad on Brunson when we signed him,
like he's overpaid, which now is like the funniest thing
ever because he took a pay cut to be here.
It's one of the best contracts in history. He's overpaid whatever.
But to me, it was like, even if he's just
at the level he was in Dallas, he's the best
Knicks point guard since Marberry.
Speaker 1 (22:24):
Even at that level.
Speaker 2 (22:26):
So even there, I was like, we got a stud
so I thought his floor was going to be incredible.
And then I saw his work ethic and I was like,
and also, uh, I've talked to some guys who are like,
he's impossible to guard because his his combo of just
toughness and uh quickness and footwork, Like he reminds me
a little bit of Kobe, just the footwork and the
(22:48):
and the personality, that killer personality. So yeah, I always
believe in Brunson. Cat looks unbelievable. Og is uh a
two way killer? Just a monster. Josh Hart, the Swiss
Army Knife. I miss a couple guys on this team
we're gonna talk about of course I miss Hardenstein and
Dante and those guys.
Speaker 1 (23:07):
And but uh, how's the city right now? With all
the Knicks? New York is a basketball city. Like you
can tell New York's a basketball city because think of
what real estate costs in New York and then you
can't walk a few blocks without seeing the court. That
tells you everything about the It's in the fabric of
the city. We love basketball, so uh, when the Knicks
(23:27):
are good, it's different than when the Yankees are good,
when the Giants are good, or when the you know,
the Rangers are good.
Speaker 2 (23:32):
We are the Nets. The Nets to me are the
ultimate sad way Like you got Kevin Durant, you got Kyrie,
you got James Harden and still people were going to
games getting a guy like KD and it was like
Denzel doing community theater. You're like, what are we doing here?
This is such a fucking waste of Kevin Durant, who's
like all time, you know, oh.
Speaker 1 (23:53):
All time, But in same you live in New your
girl life, do you know any Nets fans? No?
Speaker 2 (23:57):
And if and if you know there you No, I mean,
if you know them, they're like New Jersey Net fans.
They grew up in Yeah, and that I can respect.
But that point, you're like, this team moved anyway. I mean, no,
that the Nets in the early two thousands owned us.
I mean Jason Kidd in his prime. People don't give
him his due as an all time.
Speaker 1 (24:14):
Great points championship a couple of times he got cooked
both times, but that wasn't his fault. Man.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
That team was sick. Kenyan Martin Kenyan Martin in his
prime was like a monster. They know they were bad ass,
but and they and they killed us every year. But
no that they've been a joke ever since Brooklyn. That
that arena, it's the Liberties arena, Dude, Like, I'll go
to a Liberty game, but I don't care about the Nets.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
Man, New York's popping. You gotta explain to me the
experience of sitting on the court in Madison Square. Guard,
I've been denied. The only didn't let me go sit
there because you're a Boston sports legend. He literally denied me.
And then I heard he actually denied McAfee. Oh real,
Also like he this is like a thing he does
are a New York sports guy. He won't let you
(25:00):
come in if you're an opposing fan and sit on
the court. Matter. Maybe I'm a Dolin guy. Now I
like that. I like it.
Speaker 3 (25:07):
I like that.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
How do you? How do you? How do you deal
with getting your tickets? They let you in your you know,
New York guy, what do you? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (25:13):
I don't question it. I'm shocked they let me do it.
But yeah, they're just like They're like, do you want
to come tonight? And I'm like, yeah, so, uh, My
boy Chase was at this game with me. He's a
huge Knicks fan. He's like a psychotic fan like I am.
He's obsessed with Walt Fraser. He's obsessed with just the
Knicks culture and every team. I think at this game
he was rocking a we always wear this brand Boker
(25:35):
back pages. They make funny nick shirts and stuff, and
it was a captain clutch.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (25:39):
They woul looking at my boy Chase right there before
he got his hair transplant, so he's gonna be mad
at this us. He went us nice. Yeah, he kept
rocking and then I'm walking. I've got the old Stark
shirt on slam. Gotta rep my boy.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
I love. John Starks was like my childhood hero. I
remember you always talking about seeing him sports nowadays, Oh, he's.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
Just the most beloved and he's so nice. And uh, yeah,
man I did. I did a gig for the NYPD
at the Garden and not the easiest set I've ever done.
But Starks and Marbury were laughing. I was like, that's
like gets you through it that they're laughing. I'm like,
oh God. And then uh and then christ the Stefano
went on after me and just he knew it was
a tough gig and he saw me like just doing
(26:22):
what I could to get him. He opens with like
three minutes of like you guys are heroes to applause.
I was like, you pandering cut, how dare you? I
give him so much shit after but the lineup was
it was like me, Chrissy Fat, Joe, Cyndi Lauper, and
John Fogerty from CCO did an hour and he was
eighty years old. He was incredible. He was unreal. But yeah,
(26:42):
it was definitely like the community there.
Speaker 1 (26:46):
Is so cool.
Speaker 2 (26:46):
The Nick's legends are so nice, Like you can't Walt
is the most humble legend. Wal Fraser was looking fresh,
always looking incredible, tapping up Chalome and Stiller. I've never
met Shalama. Stiller's really cool. Still is a really nice guy.
And I was at AA. I took my mom no
game recently and Stiller's just chatting on My Mom's an
old New York lady, so he's chatting out for a while.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
He's a night.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
I thought he got a little too much shit for
this met Gala thing. Now I'm with I would never go,
but I'm also would probably be a way worse husband
than he is. He's probably going for his wife. That's
what people don't really.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
The friend, but he said, the friend who owns the
the tea.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
I bet his wife's I want to go to the
met Gala. We go to you go to every game,
and like, but yeah, if.
Speaker 1 (27:30):
I heard I heard the explanation. He hasn't been in
ten years. Timothy Challomey is invited every year because he's
Timothy Shame. Stiller is still really famous. Huh, Stiller is
freaking Zoolander, Like he's he hasn't been invited in ten years,
Like he's only going because a person his friend bought
(27:51):
a table. What they do is they sell these tables
to like real rich people and they invite people to
come with them. That's just the world that I have
no interest in.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
Like basketball, I have so much interest in, and especially
the Knicks being good to me. There's no better place
in the world than like being in a next game
in the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (28:07):
Like the energy is just outrageous.
Speaker 2 (28:08):
Like yeah, sometimes they'll hook me up with tickets, but
I will buy them also, like I I I bought,
I bought tickets on the road for this run and
I hit the cancer one because of a family emergency.
Speaker 1 (28:18):
But uh, I will go. I'm going all the way
with this team, baby, I love this team. Rush more
of court side celebrities for the Knicks or in general,
let's go Nicks first. I mean, you gotta get Spike
is due just for like being there forever does ever
chop it up on the court. I've never talked to
a Spike on the other side, Usually me, I don't
(28:39):
they'll go, I'll go wherever they put me. So I
don't know, never talked to Spike. God, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
It's hard to do for it because there's so many
diehard fans and just like always, like you know, Stiller's
great obviously, Tracy Morgan's great, Sharipa, Edie Falco, all those
like Suzuzi Esmond's hardcore.
Speaker 1 (28:58):
She.
Speaker 2 (28:58):
I like Susie a lot because I saw her at
a Rangers game and it was right at the next
trade deadline, and we both were like not speaking, and
she's like, what's wrong, and I was like, just worried
they're gonna trade O. G. And she goes, that's why
I'm not speaking. She's like, he's my favorite player. So
we were just both freaking out. And I remember talking
to one of the Knicks front office guys. He goes,
we're not trading.
Speaker 1 (29:18):
I was like, good, hell, yes, hello, that's big Sammy
is now he's getting inside sooops from the GM it.
Speaker 2 (29:24):
Was, but it was someone in the in the world
and he was like the Knicks, the Knicks love him
too much. I was like, all right, because I'm such
a big O. G fan, and uh, yeah, I don't
want to trade I love Kat too, I don't want
to trade anyone. I like our team. I think I
think this team can do it. So uh that's part
of being a fan, though you always you always believe
in the guys are you even.
Speaker 1 (29:45):
Sure Susie going full Susie on the GM if he
did trade o g you four eyed? Fuck. Yeah. Now
we got to ask about the Giants. Are you following
the middle hardball?
Speaker 3 (29:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (29:59):
I like the hiring. I mean, how do you not
like it? You know, I mean, Jesus Christ, he's not
banging a reporter. That's that's a good start already, right,
he's not banging a married, pregnant reporter. You gotta be like, that's.
Speaker 1 (30:11):
A good move. Hey, just boat trips, man. You know,
what guys do on their personal time is what they
do on their person running to each other out of
rab You made the Super Bowl?
Speaker 2 (30:21):
Like, you can't fire guy after making the super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (30:28):
It's not Celtics want to It's not great. The water
in Boston a little funky. It ain't great. I love
the dirty water. John Farrell. Yeah, I think we got
a cool young quarterback, a cool young running back.
Speaker 2 (30:44):
You know, mixed it up this year. But yeah, I
feel good about the Giants. I think they were. It
was weird because they were two and four last year
before the injuries happened, and it felt like a good
two and four because the vibes are good and when
you're young and you're building to something, I think it's cool,
you know. So, uh yeah, I was. I was fine
with it. I like the direction they're headed. What do
(31:05):
you think.
Speaker 1 (31:05):
I'm excited for him. I like Jackson Dart. I like
that they signed Isaiah Likely, a really good time, big
target down the middle of the field who didn't get
utilized a lot because of Mark Andrews in Baltimore. So
he has a lot of juice. Actually have him on
my fantasy team. So of John Harball. If you're listening,
please he's Boston. Huh.
Speaker 3 (31:23):
He's a Boston guy.
Speaker 1 (31:24):
Yeah, he went to Uh he got Coastal Carolina, but
he's from Boston.
Speaker 3 (31:27):
He's from Everett.
Speaker 1 (31:28):
Yeah, I believe.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
So you got some Boston badasses in New York. Cam
Schlitzler from the Yankees, Boston guy. Yeah, that guy's a killer.
Speaker 1 (31:35):
Oh yeah, yeah. I just met who's that young the
young stud for the Boston Red Sox. I met him
at Strega. Roman Anthony. He Roman, Anthony, Guys, you're twenty
one years old. Dude. It's so crazy seeing these athletes now,
isn't it. They look like do they look like kids?
Do you?
Speaker 3 (31:49):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (31:50):
Yeah, I feel like I'm too old to be like
do better. You feel so weird.
Speaker 1 (31:56):
Like now, it's it's to a point where you know
we're both hitting full hear no man soon and these
guys are like, damn near twenty years younger than you.
Speaker 2 (32:05):
Yeah, it makes you feel like a loser, and it's like, yeah,
good comes over. I barely made it to the bagel shop.
I'm like, you need to run faster on the course.
Speaker 1 (32:13):
Yeah, it's sad.
Speaker 3 (32:14):
It is sad.
Speaker 1 (32:15):
Now, let's get into some comedy craft talk. Okay, what's
one of your favorite jokes that never worked?
Speaker 2 (32:22):
I got a couple. Okay, I got two. I'll give
you two. One is, uh, it never really works. I
had in one week, I had maybe my three favorite
stand ups compliment this one joke, and it still never worked.
Speaker 1 (32:36):
It was a tell. Chris Rock and Louis c.
Speaker 2 (32:39):
K All were like, that's a good joke, and the
joke never It just wouldn't work.
Speaker 1 (32:46):
The joke is my friend, uh no, this is a joke.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
I was dating a girl and she was always cleaning
up after me, and i'dn't ask her if she just
be clean up and she's like, God, you're a slop,
why don't you hire a cleaning lady?
Speaker 1 (32:57):
And I say the same reason, I'm going to prostitute.
You're crushing it. Read the city never worked like that.
Speaker 2 (33:06):
I'd want Also about my biological dad and my I
was you know, raised by my stepdad and he you know,
had to legally adopt.
Speaker 1 (33:14):
That's the whole thing. You know, you have to sign.
Speaker 2 (33:17):
Uh, you have to get the biological father's signature so
that you can legally adopt. So it's like it's kind
of like the opposite of a UPS package. You're like,
here's my signature, and I do not want this. It's
another one that I think people got too sad like
like I'm okay. I think people are like, are you okay?
I'm like, of course, I'm okay. I'm joking about it.
(33:37):
So I'm actually I lucked out, you know, the way
I was raised. But uh, those are two that I
feel like I liked. And but just because you like
it doesn't mean it's going to totally make the hour.
Speaker 1 (33:45):
No, No, what's one of your favorite jokes that you've
heard from another comedian lately?
Speaker 2 (33:51):
Lately okay, damn or just wherever any David tell joke
David Tell is the funniest dude I've ever you know,
Chris Rock, David Hell like always kind of Oh I love,
I love Greg Giraldo rip I thought it was so great.
So he had a joke I love about the Civil
War letters, about how he read a book and all
the Civil War letters when the kids in war they're
(34:13):
like fifteen, and they'd be like, they all sounded like,
you know, these worldly men, but they were like fifteen
in war, Like my dearest Hannah, the morn finds me
wrath by the firey pangs of your absence. I bear
your cherished memory with me as I fight the tyranny
of about the forces of tyranny and oppression. And then
he goes, think what your normal letter now sounds from
a guy in like Iraq, dar Marie, It is hot
(34:35):
as fuck out here. My balls are sweaty because I'm
in the dessert. That always got me. The dessert got
me good. So that I love jokes that are like
really smart and really stupid at the same time, so
that one always got me. Any of racks, you know,
like those two ninety specials from Rock like I think
are like all time. I tell one of my favorite
(34:56):
jokes ever is David tell you we remember when you're
young and you think your dad is Superman, but then
you grow up and you realize he's just a drunk
who wears a cape. That just like because it's like,
that's like a profound sentence, that's brilliant, but it's also
the silliest and dumbest. Like I love that. Any tell
I tell us so many jokes. He just like threw
out that. I'm like, I would I would have been
so proud to write that joke. And he's like, that's
(35:17):
not good, but uh, yeah he had one about uh
he had won his last special that just killed me
about he's in the subway sandwich shop and it's just
him and the sandwich guy and he goes, hey, take
the gloves off.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
I don't know why that just killed me.
Speaker 2 (35:32):
I was like, that's just perfect. Yeah, it's just so
silly at fucking joke. So yeah, any hotel hel just
throws away jokes. I'm like, that'd be any comics like
favorite joke and I pop in, I'm like, he's He's
still the funniest comic ever.
Speaker 1 (35:47):
Mis Oh god, I love it. I love Jersey Mikes. Dude,
it's so good. It's so good.
Speaker 2 (35:53):
I think it's like, oh, dude, I love I love
all the Jersey Mikes, Man's way, yeah boy kid, Yeah,
I was too, But I'll be honest, I was always
so much more pumped if I was, like anywhere I
saw a quiz.
Speaker 1 (36:06):
Nose cuz noose hit so much hard.
Speaker 2 (36:08):
Subway had the branding they had who at the time
we thought was a great dude.
Speaker 1 (36:11):
We loved.
Speaker 2 (36:12):
We all fell for it, we all fell for Jared's
kind eyes. But it turns out they weren't kind. Turns
out he was a pedophile. That guy, bad guy Jared.
But uh now that uh, I mean they had Clay
Henry for a minute. Remember that guy got real big
on burgers and fries. But now he's down to a
smaller size. They were really pushing it as a health
fruit item, Subway. That's how they got thought it was.
Speaker 1 (36:32):
I thought it was healthy. That's why I ate it.
Didn't lose he did lose the weight, didn't walk about
twelve foot? How was it? Hell? It was like he
was like, this is bullshit. I was like, oh yeah,
it is a twelve foot piece of bread, and we
thought that's.
Speaker 2 (36:48):
That was I hate it all. I loved Subway dude.
But yeah, the.
Speaker 1 (36:52):
Other ones though, there's another Jimmy John. Jimmy John's is good. Me.
John's was getting big when I was in college. It
looked I like the I ate them all.
Speaker 2 (37:04):
I like them all, but Jersey Mike's kind of to
be was that was one of was the most pub
for for sure.
Speaker 1 (37:10):
It stuck around too. All right, before we jump into
the time the place the game took place, let's do
a little athlete association with some comics. Okay, I'm gonna
give you a comics name. You tell me what athlete
they remind you of. Okay, all right, let's go Mark Norman,
your best friend. Ooh, Mark an athlete. This is a
(37:33):
tough one.
Speaker 2 (37:33):
I mean, the first mind that you jumped out, the
first one that jumped out to me is like Tony Hawk,
because Mark is a skater.
Speaker 1 (37:38):
Yeah, that's the only skater. He's a good. Tony Hawk
even gave him some problem.
Speaker 2 (37:43):
Hawk gave him props, which like made his day. Mark
is so new to sports, like he's not. He's into
sports now because of me, so like I got him
into the Knicks. He watches games now on the road.
He gets pumped.
Speaker 1 (37:54):
That's a good that's a good comp though. Extream Sport guy. Yeah,
he's had no fear, didn't have any fear. Mark Mark
says whatever.
Speaker 2 (38:02):
Mark's also like relentless, so he's got like a little
bit of like cal Ripkin in him. I like that
never missed the game cal Ripkin, iron Man Norman. Norman
doesn't say no to anything to his detriment, so he's
like in the he's those two, that's cal Ripken and
Tony Hall. What about Joe List, Joe List? He was
great last night to Joe List. Yeah, craftsman. Joe's like
(38:24):
a craftsman. So he's like just uh, you know, for
some reasons popping in my head. Is like like a
Ray Allen, the Boston guy. Ray Allen's a pure shooter,
but he can do other stuff too. Like Ray Allen
wasn't just a shooter people forget. He was also like Bucks.
Ray Allen had handles. This fucking shut.
Speaker 1 (38:48):
So I said, did you see I saw recently a
Spike Lee talking about the game that I love with Denzel.
He wouldn't or he wouldn't get skunked.
Speaker 2 (38:59):
Got kind of love that Denzel is just like he's
just yeah, he's supposed to lose eleven. Oh, and he
got game and Denzel just started scoring and ray Allen's like,
what the fuck.
Speaker 1 (39:07):
He's never been a movie. She was like, what the
fuck's happening?
Speaker 2 (39:09):
And Denzel's like, I'm a list, I'm a fucking losing
by eleven.
Speaker 1 (39:13):
But yeah, I love that. That made me just love.
Speaker 2 (39:16):
Like Denzel and Nicholson are like those two iconic type
guys where you like, you know they love hoops, you
know that, like it means something to them. I love
I remember reading the Chinatown book The Big Goodbye, and
Nicholson's like a psycho like Plants. He's trying to call
him the said and he's like, it's the fucking playoffs.
Get like a TV in the trailer.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
I love that. What de Vito came on here WHOA
and he told us a story where they were doing
what they were doing, Cug's martini Martini all timer, you're
doing it in Portland and John are and uh Jack
Jack asked him to go to the Portland Trailblazer game
(39:52):
and as this was before, DeVito was like anyone, wow,
and he's like, fuck you, I'm going j Nicholas, I'm
going to Lakers game or a ball game. He goes
there and he said it was just like a spectacle
when when he walked in, everyone you know, he's fucking Jack,
you know, so everyone knows him. He's got he's the
a's a's of lists and basketball wasn't what it what
(40:13):
it is? No, like Nicholson, like, so he was on
he was on the ground floor. He was ground floor.
He walks in getting standing ovation, he's on the jumbo
tron and fucking de Vito right before the kickoff or
the tip off spills his coke all over the floor
and like they had to pause the game. Everyone's looking
(40:34):
at him and he's embarrassed as a ship, and Jack's
playing it cool. They had to stop the game to
clean it. Danny Devillo freaking idiot. What do you does?
They finish it up, and I guess he looks at him.
He goes a, d you want another coke?
Speaker 2 (40:55):
Like you feel so blessed to be down there, and
then you're like, don't funk up. You know, like all
seen that Larry David episode where like, don't do that
ship Tracy more Caan threw up all and that was awful.
Speaker 1 (41:06):
That was crazy. Feel bad for Tracy.
Speaker 2 (41:09):
We'll be right back after this quick break, all right,
the athlete, I mean, I feel bad. But the first
name that popped out was Tony because.
Speaker 1 (41:19):
He's a Baltimore Ravens, just because of the it's.
Speaker 2 (41:23):
It's Yannis meets because Janni's is the Greek, freaking so
is Stove. So you got to give Stop's obsession with
the honest I love so, I just I just associate
him with like a Raven and Yannis probably Bill Bill Burr. Oh,
he's like old school. He's like an old baseball guy
for some reason. This is weird that the first name,
but like he's a boss and guy for some reason.
(41:45):
Like it's weird because they both were Yankees too. But
the two names that popped into my head were Bogs
and Clemens, because clemensdrts off either of them, Like Clemens
will fucking throw a bat at you, Piasa, that's bird,
Like I pissed Burr off, or I'm just like this
sucks it just yelling at you. You're like, dude, what
(42:06):
I made a fucking Remember I did his podcast once
and we were I made it. I poked him, but
I didn't know he's gonna snap this hard where uh,
you'll hate this too. I said that one fucking Seahawks,
uh super Bowl gain the Patriots got, that was a
lucky one. And he goes, what the fucking I was like, Oh, boy,
turn into twenty minutes of him just screaming at me.
(42:27):
I'm like, I just mean it was lucky because they
had Marshan and they didn't run it, and he goes,
they fucking prep for that every fucking day of the year.
And it got to a point where I turned with
his producer like, and then the producers went I was like, yeah,
it was twenty minutes of bird just screaming at the
top of his lungs, and I was like, And at
a certain point I'd just be like, Bill, I'm just
I'm just a fan.
Speaker 1 (42:44):
I don't I don't really care. I was just poking you.
And he's like, I didn't even poke him. And he
came in here for the first twenty minutes and made
fun of my shoes, call him pretty much insinuating that
I was gay or a nurse.
Speaker 3 (42:55):
Perhaps a game.
Speaker 1 (42:56):
There's no escape in it that we didn't puddle a bird.
Speaker 2 (43:00):
Bobby Kelly that whole era of like Colin Quinn, Keith Robinson,
the Philly but all those guys you can't get out
of a beating.
Speaker 1 (43:06):
I don't know, I'm not how hard. I don't know
how are those fucking nurses. So that goes and does
exactly what you did, just goes in on the shoes,
kills me. Love Bill Burr Shane Gillis.
Speaker 2 (43:18):
Okay, this is a weird one because he's not He's
a Philly guy, Shane. But I'm giving him Babe Ruth
because Shane is an iron man with drinking and he
still delivers. That's what Babe Ruth was. You're like, you're
you're the best right now and you're still fucking hammered.
So I got it to Shane, like he Shane, you
know what he does that really fucking annoys me by
the way he texts me after this game because of
(43:39):
Philly that we're going to talk about. He goes, fuck
you that was a foul on Josh Harden Brunson, and
I really it probably was, but I was like, no,
it wasn't, but it was. He's right, and uh yeah,
so Shane, I go, Babe Ruth. Shane does a thing
that I hate with drinkers. He counts your drinks.
Speaker 1 (43:57):
He drinks.
Speaker 2 (43:58):
He's bigger than me, so yes, he can drink way
more than me. He's so much better than us. Yeah,
he knows ball, Shane knows. But I feel like Sixers
are like his fourth favorite Philly team.
Speaker 1 (44:08):
And I think Shane, I don't really think Sixers. He
is a fan, like he loves Embid and he loves
a team. But I feel like Shane is like.
Speaker 2 (44:16):
Eagles, uh, Phillies and Flyers before those Sixers in terms
of his fandom. And he would admit that probably, But yeah,
Shane is he counts your beers. He'll be like, you're
almost done with that one, right, get him another. I'm like, god,
I need to remember I was at competition. I remember
I was at something once, uh in Nashville, and Shane
(44:36):
just happened to be there and there was like a
private post Malone concert that I the busting guys brought
me to it nice. He brought me to You want
to come with? And I was like, okay, Shane's there.
Every time he would like, feel your beer, it's getting light.
It was the bud lights that are even like covers,
so you can't see where you're at. He could just
tell what was almost done. I'm like, dude, I got
a fucking six am flight. He's like, well, he gets
(44:57):
you hammered every time. I mean we were hanging with him,
that wet.
Speaker 1 (45:03):
Hammer.
Speaker 2 (45:03):
He didn't do us any favors. No, what about Dan,
So that's a good one. Soda is uh yeah, I
think Niners a Nuggets.
Speaker 1 (45:12):
So it's weird. We had him on the Yeah, the
whole step the step dad living in here. Yeah, it's weird.
That's a weird combo. He's a wrestling guy too, loves wrestling,
that's true.
Speaker 2 (45:23):
Yeah, I mean it's tough because I don't know if
this is totally accurate. I always think Macho Man was
Soda because he does the incredible Soda does. Every Soda
is like one of those comics where he could have
just done impressions in his act and become huge from it,
but he didn't want to. It's like the Jim Carrey
thing where it's like Jim Carrey can do all these
great impressions, but then he doesn't even need to because
SODA's material is so good too. So I mean, damn,
(45:47):
I think like Niners, like Montana and Rice. But then
I also think like a little jokic and a little
macho man. It's like I can't pin down one with soda.
What about oh, another mechanic guy?
Speaker 3 (46:01):
Now?
Speaker 1 (46:01):
Yogi Berra, Yogi Berra.
Speaker 2 (46:04):
No, you can't give a Mets guy a Yankees guy.
I feel like I can't give him. I can't say
Keith r Nandez something.
Speaker 3 (46:11):
I just watched that episode.
Speaker 1 (46:13):
I was gonna say Darryl Strawberry.
Speaker 2 (46:14):
No, no, he's good to his wife, Piazza piazzas Oh,
I loved my I mean Yankees nam, but I love Piazza, man.
Speaker 1 (46:22):
I think everyone did. How about how about Shilah Love
calling him out the other week? Remember that, that's right? Yeah,
Mike he called that Mike Kid did give him autograph
when he was a kid. That will hurt you. I
came out of nowhere.
Speaker 2 (46:32):
Clarence Weatherspoon did that to me as a kid, and
it hurt. But then I also remember the Knicks who
were like cool to me as a kid, and like
Alan Houston was really coo.
Speaker 1 (46:39):
So it was I remember a couple guys not doing it.
And I don't want to call him out because there's
probably been a time where. But if it was a kid,
you're pretty much always signed, but you never know, you
never know. It was Phil Micholson for me, turned me down,
really dick anyways, he turned you down. Damn. That's you know.
Speaker 2 (47:00):
Uh, I'm trying to think Seinfeld is definitely another like
Ledg you got to be a legend. Yeah, It's like
I'm thinking of like old school, Like it's almost like
this is a weird one for Jerry, but I almost
feel like it's a.
Speaker 1 (47:15):
Like a Kareem or something.
Speaker 2 (47:17):
It was the skyhook. He invented a new thing. Jerry
kind of invented a new style stand up.
Speaker 1 (47:22):
Jerry was.
Speaker 2 (47:24):
You know, he would give credit to like Jay Leno
and Robert Klein and stuff. But I mean, I feel
like people will sometimes like give Jerry ship like his
styles data, but I'm like, dude, he he invented that style.
He really kind of did. He still so yeah, and
it's still it's still at a high level. So like
to me, it's like the Skyhook's timeless. I think Jerry
(47:46):
styles timeless, So I'll give him that.
Speaker 1 (47:48):
Just in living color clip of Jim Carrey doing Seinfeld
in the back alley, have you seen that?
Speaker 3 (47:56):
Clip.
Speaker 1 (47:56):
No, I haven't seen it. Got like stands a guy
and he's like trying to I don't know it. I
can't I can't tell the story. I'm not good enough.
But it was fun to look it up. Let's go
look it up, all right, Let's go back in the
time where the game took place. This game took place
April twenty second, twenty twenty four, not too far not
too far ago, not too long ago, not too long recently,
(48:19):
and some of the pop culture we got. Civil War
was number one movie never saw. It was like an
eight twenty four movie. Yeah, I heard it. I think
it just depressed me too much.
Speaker 3 (48:28):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (48:29):
That's too real, that's too close. Title just sounded I'm like,
I don't want to sit through this ship. But I
heard about a reporter. It's about like the reporter's perspective
on the tragedies of what's going on. So it was
kind of it was it was it was fun, it
was hard. It was good perspective to like look into
like what the people capturing the war looked like. It
(48:49):
too real. I couldn't get I couldn't get amped up
on it. It was hard. It's like seeing a movie
called Your Dick doesn't work as well as it used
to too real. Okay, but it's a twenty four.
Speaker 2 (49:01):
Twenty four and it's got Robert Pattinson in it, Like
all right, maybe I'll see it.
Speaker 3 (49:06):
Take this blue Pits.
Speaker 1 (49:07):
Just a lot of apologize in the whole movie is
like sorry, it's not usually like I remember that song
too sweet. That's a cool it's a good song. It's
a good song. I like it.
Speaker 2 (49:14):
Did you watch the Dunes Doune too? I didn't see
the second. I saw the first pretty good. I liked
it was fun, it was it's not.
Speaker 1 (49:21):
My my I feel like I never got in the books,
and I feel like a lot of the people get
into the books. But I yeah, Chalama is good. He's
a good action. I don't like sci fi stuff, and
I didn't read the books, but I still like them.
Speaker 3 (49:30):
That's what I heard.
Speaker 1 (49:31):
I heard they're cool. The second one is cool. They're
visually pleasing. It's like a Star Wars kind of thing.
I love the different you know what I mean with
love Star Wars?
Speaker 2 (49:39):
They made too man, I've liked the originals the best,
but like I thought, the new one where they all
die was cool.
Speaker 1 (49:44):
Did you see that one Rogue one. Oh yeah, that
was fun. That was really good. I just watched the
whole timeline. They all die, guys. I just watched the
whole timeline with Lily. She's getting into it Star Wars
nine years old, as that's such a cool time. Man,
it's just cool that you get to But we went
from episode like, we did it in chronological order, So
we started when Anakin was a little boy and turned
(50:05):
into Darth Vader, and all started because there's a fucking
meme going around of Darth Vader around her school. She's like, Dad,
I want to watch the Star Wars.
Speaker 3 (50:14):
What is this?
Speaker 1 (50:14):
This guy so creepy? And then she falls in love
with Anakin and then he turns into Darth Vader.
Speaker 3 (50:19):
She's like, what, what's going on?
Speaker 2 (50:20):
To prepare for relationships in life? Exactly exactly sweet, But
he turns out to be a piece of shit. The
new Anakin is gonna be the Wrizzler in the next series.
What's wrong with this guy?
Speaker 3 (50:31):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (50:32):
So, what were you doing in twenty twenty four around
this time, you just had Amazon?
Speaker 2 (50:36):
Yeah, I just taped an Amazon special, which is I
think gonna be on my YouTube channel in July.
Speaker 1 (50:39):
So if you don't have Amazon, Yeah, I like that one.
That was a cool one. I like that.
Speaker 2 (50:43):
I like my new My new ones I think is better.
I like my new one a little Better're all good man, Yeah,
I like the Amazon one.
Speaker 1 (50:48):
That was fun.
Speaker 2 (50:49):
So twenty twenty four Fallout came out. I never I
watched like an episode or two. I couldn't get into it.
I love that actor Walton God. I couldn't get into short.
To get into shows, man, I just watch movies because
if I don't like the movie, I'm like, that's an
hour and a half.
Speaker 1 (51:03):
But some commitment is shows. It's a commitment issue.
Speaker 3 (51:05):
It really is.
Speaker 1 (51:06):
Like if that's why I I know I'm gonna fall
asleep within twenty five minutes. Yeah, so I'm not gonna
start a whole series. It's gonna take me five nights
to watch one episode. I might as well just do
a movie. Yeah, it's it's crazy. Sam says that the
last two series I've invested in only because of Goggins
White Lotus in this fall Out, if watch him, I
(51:26):
wouldn't watch either. It's huge with the video game peeps. Yeah,
and I didn't even play the video games I'm just
here for Goggins. I'm watching the nineteen twenty three right now.
Oh I heard that's good. I like it's he's a
good I like shar Yeah, oh man, one of my
favorite movies. Hello, High Water underrated. He's got a nitch
right now. Yeah, wind almost like country things. That's cool
as hell. I like his stuff.
Speaker 2 (51:45):
It's like, so Yellowstone will turn you into a Republican.
You're just like, they're trying to take this white guy's land.
This is messed up. No, he's he's a he's a.
The other one he did, wind River was amazing. I
think he's made some I like movies even better than
the shows. I like all this stuff though.
Speaker 1 (51:59):
He's really hitting. Caitlyn Clark came out number one, number one.
That's another way to sell ship. Caitlyn went to the
w n B. Ah, she's awesome. Number one day. Seriously,
she's brought so many eyeballs to the league and they
just got there getting everybody. Everyone's getting paid now. Unbelievable. Yeah,
(52:20):
she's a killer.
Speaker 2 (52:20):
Yeah the Liberty are they disappointed in the playoffs last year,
But uh.
Speaker 1 (52:26):
I love Sabrina. Are you watching w NBA.
Speaker 2 (52:28):
Yeah, I'll go to games sometimes I think it's fun.
I like, uh, Sabrina, Brionna Stewart's amazing. Uh, you know,
John cal Jones. I like their team. I think they
have they have they won the title the year after this,
I think so. Yeah, they got eliminade this year and
the ACE is one last year, but yeah, the liberty
of the year before.
Speaker 1 (52:43):
Yeah, I'm into it off here soon does a respect
level just go through it? Like when you're sitting on
the court watching these I mean these girls are huge,
They're like six foot six. Yeah, I mean this real basketball?
Speaker 3 (52:55):
How is it?
Speaker 1 (52:56):
That's probably where that's where I always get my my
sense of how the sport is when you get to
see it up close in person and nothing like that
in basketball? How is it?
Speaker 2 (53:04):
With the w They're awesome. Man, Sabrina is a shooter.
It's crazy. I think she went one for nineteen in
the game they won the championship. So it's crazy to
shoot that. You're like, maybe the best shooter in the
league and you just shoot like absolute shit. But they
still won. So I work out with her with Sabrina, Yeah,
she's awesome. She's over at Churchill every once. A few
years back she used to come there a bunch doing
(53:25):
her rehab. She's a monster, just all her exercise. It's
so she's really like discipline determine.
Speaker 1 (53:33):
Yeah, it's growing. Every believe it's good. It's like, you know,
and did the Celtics won NBA Championship? Didn't you just
hang out with Jayalen Brown recently?
Speaker 2 (53:42):
It was a I did some fashion show at at
the Apollo, my two things Fashion and the Apollo, and
it went as well as you think it did. I
did not open on a good kids super did it?
Oh nice puts you in his clothes and he put
me like a giant for a coat. I was sweating.
(54:03):
I think my opener was may even sweat like this
since I had unprotected sex with that QAnon chick silence.
Speaker 1 (54:08):
I was like, oh boy, so I'm just trying to
like fucking get him back and not my crowd.
Speaker 2 (54:13):
And and then your bomb and then Jalen Brown from
the team you hate walks in the room like, how
could this knight get any worse?
Speaker 1 (54:20):
Give me?
Speaker 2 (54:20):
It turned out to be awesome. He was like he
was so nice and uh he was like, dude, that
was I thought he was gonna be like you suck.
But he was like that was really funny. And then uh,
I was like thank you, but fuck the Celtics and
he was like whoa, whoa, whoa, And I was like,
Brunson's gonna get you, and uh he was like Bronson
is really good. But then he was like, but we're
gonna beat him, and uh he was.
Speaker 1 (54:39):
He was so nice.
Speaker 2 (54:40):
He was like, actually a really cool I was with
Sam Jay, the comedian who's legitimately obsessed with Jalen Brown.
Speaker 1 (54:46):
So Sam Jay had her on. She's obsessed with Jalen Brown,
so that was that was cool to see her so happy.
Finger on out. Yeah, alright, jump into these Philadelphia seventy
six ers, Jack, all right us get into these sixers
twenty twenty four sixers a lot of similarities to these
current sixers forty seven and thirty five. Nick Nurse first year,
(55:07):
the Nick Nurse era. Remember Doc was there before that.
Nick Nurse is so annoyed. He's really annoying. He's only
he just complains NonStop, incredibly annoyed. Body language, facial expressions,
everything about Nick Nurse.
Speaker 2 (55:19):
Really, it was fucking like, I'm sorry, when you're ready
unlikable and you have a chin go Tea.
Speaker 1 (55:22):
It's not helping your case, you know. I mean, I
will give him this.
Speaker 2 (55:27):
He was a coach on one of the coolest teams
that won a CHIP in the last twenty I think
the two coolest chips of the last twenty five years
in the NBA are the Dallas MAVs Dirk Chip and
the Kawhi Toronto Raptors Chip.
Speaker 1 (55:39):
And he was a coach of the Raptors team. So
I got to give him that.
Speaker 2 (55:42):
But uh, yeah, that road for we were just hearing
about it's the craziest road maybe ever because yeah, I mean,
but Dirk is like, how do you not love Dirk
the coolest pow and Kobe Brandon Roy when the defending
champs coaches and then it was the young Oka see Thunder,
(56:03):
Yes with Harden it was the next year they went
to the finals. But yeah, and then and then he
took down the fucking the heatles.
Speaker 1 (56:10):
That He's unbelievable, what I run. People don't give Dirk
enough credit for that. No, absolutely insane. Back to these
six ers, Uh they were seventeenth and total offense sixteen
that even right there in the middle of the pack
started out hot. Then of course twenty nine to thirteen
dropped a little in January because of course Embiid hurt.
Nothing new there when eleven and twenty two without him
(56:30):
towards me neftis, but he'd come back. This was Tyrese Max.
He's real breakout season one most improved player and really
solidified himself as the star that he is dead.
Speaker 2 (56:37):
He's unreal, he's unbelieving, and you can't hate on him,
like as I said about Embiid. I never liked Embiid
because of like, you know, the complaining and the flop.
He flops and it's on were gonna like you root
for Jalen Bunsen. He doesn't flop a quarter as much
as Joel Embiid, and he's half his size. I mean,
when you're seven to one, three hundred pounds and you
flop and like it's it makes you unlikable. And I
(57:00):
can't deny his talent. But MAXI just to me seems
like a more likable star. Like he's just he's incredible.
Speaker 1 (57:06):
How annoying are Philly fans? They're tough, man.
Speaker 2 (57:09):
I mean, I'm dreading the comments for this episode like
they're probably gonna dox my family.
Speaker 1 (57:14):
These fucking people. They're animals.
Speaker 2 (57:16):
Uh, Like the Pacers fans are annoying, but they're like
they're less annoying. Philly fans are I would say, as
tough as a guest.
Speaker 1 (57:23):
Because that's a very unique rivalry for you that it's
very specific Knicks Pacers. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (57:28):
Well, the weird thing is like Nicks, Philly and Celtics.
I feel like the fan bases all kind of hate
each other. But I have this weird thing with like
I like, I like performing in Philly.
Speaker 1 (57:37):
I like Philly. They're all very similar people.
Speaker 2 (57:39):
Yeah, well that's the thing I do that Amazon special.
I taped it in Boston. I love Boston wilbur Yeah.
I always have loved performing in Boston. Boston people to
me are like, so they're funny, They're they're funny, is
in their fucking bones, like that kind of Irish Catholic,
like this fucking cocksucker, like that energy is always funny
and it always gets a lot. So I just I
(58:00):
love Boston people. I love Philly people. But I mean
this is this fan base is tough.
Speaker 1 (58:05):
Now when you look at this team, what are you
looking at? What to to what two players?
Speaker 2 (58:11):
I mean, yeah, it's it's embiided Matsy Obviously, Tobias Harris
has had kind of a sneaky good career, but he
didn't scare us in this series. Kelly u Bray played
very good defense on Brunson, you know, long defender, but
Brunson still cooked them in this series, like completely the
last few games. He was just dry. He was like
thirty six a game in this series. And yeah, Buddy
Heald kind of looks like fucking simple Jack a little
(58:34):
bit with the teeth. Yeah, amazing shooter though, Buddy healed
And uh, now this team doesn't really They obviously at
full strength with MVP level EMBIID, they're scary.
Speaker 1 (58:46):
But EMBIID is, as I said, never really healthy. He
kissed you off more than any other NBA player EMBIID
or he's up there.
Speaker 2 (58:53):
I'd say it's like him and Halliburton, but I can't
call as annoying as Haliburton is. I can't call him
unethical beat Fields unethical. Halliburn's more of just like you
don't know how to defend him because he's so unorthodox,
and he's that shot looks weird and he's clutch, and
so Halliburn's really annoying. I don't like him. I don't
like him. Be obviously we all think Trey Young's annoying.
(59:15):
The Hawks team we just beat, wasn't that unlikable though,
I know it's weird. They were trying to turn CJ
McCollum into a villain, and I was like, CJ's kind
of cool.
Speaker 1 (59:22):
He seems kind of cool. I always like CJ. Like
and then at the presser he's like, I'm a nice guy.
I have a family.
Speaker 2 (59:27):
I have a family, so I would I don't have kids.
I'm a piece of shit. What the hell does that mean?
Speaker 1 (59:33):
Father of one here? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (59:34):
I mean well, Trey Young was such a great foil
to the New York I just loved and I really
loved that fucking DC. Which makes me so happy he's
riding away.
Speaker 1 (59:42):
Rodding away in DC. See you, buddy, Golly, they really unbelievable.
Let's get it, Sam, you helped me out here with
these guys. But fifty and thirty two, first time winning
fifty games since twenty twelve. This was when Tibbs was
in his third year back in the TIBs era. Big
trade with Toronto this year, A guy we talked about
earlier picked up. Og had to get rid of quickly.
(01:00:05):
RJ Barrett in that hurt. Yeah, I mean quickly quickly.
I love RJ.
Speaker 2 (01:00:10):
And quickly and quickly I remember wrote like this what
player's Tribune piece, yep, and it made me like, oh,
I love that guy, like I think he's he reminds
me of Maxie.
Speaker 1 (01:00:18):
I know they're boys.
Speaker 2 (01:00:19):
That they both went to Kentucky, I think, and quickly
actually reminds me a lot of Maxie. They both played
the game with a lot of joy. They're both incredibly likable,
they're both really really talented. So losing quickly that hurt
for sure. But the moment we made that trade, I
was like, I love the move. I just thought Og
was gonna be a stud. I thought he was exactly
what we were missing. Like nineties Knicks were all about defense,
(01:00:41):
we were missing a shutdown guy. So yeah, Og was incredible.
Speaker 1 (01:00:46):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:00:46):
And the sad thing is we never got to see
this team at full strength because Randall was so fucking
good for us. And in this run, when we had
the starting line of Hardenstein, Randall, Og, Dante, it was
it Dante or it was either Dante or Heart. Starting
in Brunson it was Dante and Hart was off the bench,
(01:01:07):
I guess, and Mitch off the bench, like, holy shit,
we're fucking We're pretty tough, you know. So yeah, I
mean we never saw this team at full strength because
because of Randall's shoulder.
Speaker 3 (01:01:17):
We'll be right back after this quick break.
Speaker 2 (01:01:22):
I adored Isaiah Hardenstein. He was one of my favorite too.
Yeah he's not a Jew. He's actually he's black. Yeah,
he's a lights not that are on black Jews. We
got a Mari, but uh he is a Fears. Hardenstein
was a great player, man, I mean he he did
everything we loved. Hard defender, beautiful, tear drop, amazing passer,
(01:01:46):
played really well with Brunson.
Speaker 1 (01:01:48):
So yeah, we miss Hardenstein and uh.
Speaker 2 (01:01:50):
De Vincenz that we can't not talk about balls out
this game, Dante speedy recovery. We still love Dante and
Julius and Minnie Minnesota. But yeah, Dante was just the
big ragout the flamethrower. Like, how do you not love
this dude?
Speaker 1 (01:02:06):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (01:02:06):
Heart?
Speaker 1 (01:02:06):
This was that v one of the Nova knicks.
Speaker 3 (01:02:08):
Man, this was it.
Speaker 2 (01:02:09):
I had a good Villa's shirt, good Fellows, but it
was good Villas. It was heart Brunson and Dante and
now they make it with Michale. But yeah, no we
never got to see the four, the four v Villanova
guys together.
Speaker 1 (01:02:21):
But yeah, Dante was he was big time. He was awesome. Now,
when when did you fall in love with this specific
Knicks team that pretty much is transformed into what they
are today? When did you know that this team was
going to be? Because this is when they all started
knocking off and Nick started being good. Well, it started
with Julius and take started to sound good. You gotta
respect Randall for coming here. You know, we we there
(01:02:43):
was all that talk that the Knicks were going to
get KD, Kyrie and Zion. That was all the memes,
and then we didn't get any of them. We got
Julius Randall Greek freak talk, and we got like and
what And then the Greek freak talk to New York
was somewhere and.
Speaker 2 (01:02:56):
I was part of the Greek for talk I did.
His benefit was and I was like, he was like,
you're a Bucks fan. I was like, no, I'm a
Knicks fan. He was just like and I was like,
I'm a New Yorker dude, And he was like, well,
I might end up here next free agency, so I
went everywhere I was going to like part of my take,
I was like, you're honest to the Knicks confirmed and
they're literally every fan was like, shut the fuck up,
you idiot, and uh, you know, I was all hyped
(01:03:19):
for your honest. But I like the way things worked
out and Randall. We were four seed with Randall, you know,
we didn't have a lot of a lot of young
players in that team. But then the year after we
got Brunson, and that's when it. That's when I was like,
this is something, this is it. Yeah, for sure a.
Speaker 1 (01:03:34):
Squad and then a little foreshadowing year, little foreshadowing deep
cut stat first, an offensive rebound rate.
Speaker 2 (01:03:41):
This next team, well, we had hard Sign, we had
Mitch and Josh Hart is like the best rebounding guard
in the league.
Speaker 1 (01:03:47):
So I mean, this was it was.
Speaker 2 (01:03:49):
It was a tough That's why I said this team
never got because we couldn't resign Hard and Steign, so
we never got to see this team at full strength.
And I think this team could have won one. I
do think they had the weapons. Obviously, Boston this year
was stacked, like porzingis they porsingis looking really good that
your how they didn't look old yet Orford was still
a problem, like this was a tough Celtics team, Celtics,
(01:04:11):
but I do think this next team never got This
team fell apart physically this year because of injuries, and
you know we didn't get to see them.
Speaker 1 (01:04:18):
Yeah, but this team walks. So the team that we're
watching right now could run totally and hopefully fly. I hope.
So dude and your Boston audience ain't gonna like that,
but I'm with you. I say it made me feel
better last night though I was down the dumb still
about the seas the same. So you'll be all right,
You'll be all right. Yeah, I mean I think you
guys are just young now.
Speaker 2 (01:04:36):
You had to rebuild because you had to get rid
of Horford and and Porzingis and Holiday, but you still
got If you still have Tatum and Brown as an
as a starting point, you're still And you know, Derek
White's great.
Speaker 1 (01:04:47):
I mean he was a little cold. I know, that
just doesn't happened launched the beer together.
Speaker 3 (01:04:52):
I hope he was.
Speaker 2 (01:04:52):
The Celtics play it's literally just all threes all games.
We get at MISSOO like you like the town everyone
likes the town. You're not fucking special. I'm panderin. We
all like the town.
Speaker 1 (01:05:03):
It's from Providence. No one wants to I want to.
I didn't say anything around Joe. I was scared. I
love Joe. He scared the heck out of me, and
I still love him. He's an intense joker, he is,
but I love it. But you're right, Sam, just can
we go to the rim a couple of times? Can we?
Speaker 2 (01:05:18):
It's crazy? I need a big man, you need I
like the vus of its move. But then also another
guy who just launched the threes right, and he never
really got rotation in the playoffs. Bro, I don't I mean,
then we got to give up JB.
Speaker 1 (01:05:31):
I don't want to do that.
Speaker 2 (01:05:33):
Well, maybe it's Tatum. Everyone's saying it's JB, but what Yeah,
I just don't want to. I'm I'm I'm so tat.
I don't want to give up anybody. I feel the
same way, you know what I mean? You grow with
your guys, like so they make fun of Knicks fans
because we don't want to trade Bronson for anything. But
it's just like, yeah, but we you know, we fall
in love with these guys and we and we were
with him through the thick and the thin, and that's
what fandom is all about. So, yeah, you don't want
(01:05:54):
to just trade for the new shiny piece, because if
the new shiny thing doesn't work, then you lose so
much morale as as fans morale and capital.
Speaker 1 (01:06:03):
Yeah, and we get attached to these guys when you're
growing with them and you're getting close every I don't know,
I just hated the first round exit the Jackie give
us the lead up of this bad Boy. Philly was
a seventh seed here.
Speaker 2 (01:06:16):
Seven a real seven seed because em Beid was heard,
so they were like, it's one of those annoying seven seeds,
like seed. A lot of people picked them to beat us,
as the people always are, like the Knicks are gonna
nick and they always go against us. But we were
definitely scared. I mean they were, we know, and what
em Beata's.
Speaker 1 (01:06:33):
Yeah, it was a weird You're right, it's a weird
quote unquote seven seed underfeat in the month of April,
which was huge coming into this.
Speaker 2 (01:06:38):
I think people were saying we should lose, so we
could not. But Tims will never do coach. It's like
he's not We're not ducky. I believe they fired him out.
I don't like I don't like ducking that year. Yeah,
but I don't like ducking teams. I think I think
it's bad. It's like tanking. It's just bad Jujus doing
that shit.
Speaker 1 (01:06:56):
Jude Pus is gonna have you in there doing defensive
slides at five am the next day. He's fucking I
love tips. He's the man.
Speaker 2 (01:07:02):
I love the coach who looks who you know, has
never been married and nothing else, Like there's like, you know,
he's all in on.
Speaker 1 (01:07:09):
Like lived with his mom still, did he or something?
I think or she lived with him something crazy? Hey,
if to look with.
Speaker 2 (01:07:15):
Him, I don't think he was getting paid pretty well,
that'd be weird if he just lived in the basement
still uh uh.
Speaker 1 (01:07:22):
They had to play in the play in game here
beat Miami Close four. Playing series this year was electric.
Playing tournament was awesome this year. Yeah, Nicks for the
two seed here again fifty win Team six and two
of the month of April coming in with some good mode.
Joe New York took game one one eleven, one oh
four Squander to thirteen point lead there in the third,
(01:07:42):
but hung on still had to win and be tweak
his knee in that game one and then uh something
that would carry over into game two. A little bit.
JB was struggling from the floor a little bit brunts
and that is which is unlike him. But yeah, but
he made up for it, made up for it. The
line with glud shots. Do you have like a pregame
routine when you're watching these games now, especially here you're
(01:08:05):
at the game, like, how does how does the day
in the life of a layoff Madison Square Garden Sam? Like,
what are you doing early in the day? Are you
You're texting your boys? You're getting your fit ready.
Speaker 2 (01:08:18):
My whole crew and my whole like my lawyer, my agent,
everyone in my crew is diehard.
Speaker 1 (01:08:22):
Next, I love this so everyone.
Speaker 2 (01:08:24):
I'm literally watched the game the other night with my
lawyer out here in LA He's my boy, but we
became tired. He's awesome. And then my agent's a Psycho
Knicks fan. My all my good friends are Psycho Knicks fans.
And yeah, to me, it feels like when you have
like a big gig at night, you're like just stay
active during the day so you're not thinking about it.
I like that because I love I get anxius. I'm
anxious today about the game in early tip out here?
(01:08:47):
Yeah early, how do you like it out here?
Speaker 1 (01:08:49):
Like that? It's cool.
Speaker 2 (01:08:50):
It's cool because it never interferes with shows, so I
don't I don't mind it. And I kind of like
it because like you can pop into a bar at
like four pm and you didn't get a seat, So
I like that.
Speaker 1 (01:08:59):
And you get any you could like watch you can
go to dinner after all the games are done, damn near. Yeah,
it's cool. I like it. You ever have a really
New York d night salmon, like go from the game
to the store thee Yeah, sorry, totally.
Speaker 2 (01:09:12):
I remember matel Langs, who was my neighbor ones. He's
you know, gay guy doesn't watch sports. Not the gay
guys don't watch sports, but he's one of those guys
you know where he's like, you know, he's like, we'll
go and he's it's literally like he's a joke about
it in his act now how he's like him watching
the game with me is like me watching with a
girl where he's like he's like, heart is cute. You know,
he's just watching the game and we went straight from
(01:09:32):
the game. We went straight to the game. He does
have a nice butt hard yeah for sure. Oh speaking
a nice bud Sky Lowry in this game.
Speaker 1 (01:09:39):
Oh my god. Yeah, the butt, the butt.
Speaker 3 (01:09:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:09:41):
The Matayo and I went straight from the game to
the cellar and we're like riffing on stage. It's fun. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:09:46):
So I've done that. Yeah, a couple of times with Mark.
Hell yeah, we've done that's that's such a New York
I love about walking downtown after the game and just
feeling the city energy and be careful on Seventh Avenue.
But if you're up for it, it's a beautiful thing.
All the joy, you know, it's it's are.
Speaker 1 (01:10:00):
You walking to the cellar? Are you getting on train?
Are you going to train? Or walk?
Speaker 2 (01:10:05):
But I'll I'll walk down. It's like it's like a
mile and a half. It's not that bad and a
nice night. It's kind of the best. It's a nice thing.
Speaker 1 (01:10:10):
You get to feel the energy. I love walking this.
I love walking. I'm a big walker. That's right, baby,
all right? Should we get in this game a little
bit in a game?
Speaker 3 (01:10:17):
All right?
Speaker 1 (01:10:17):
So Philly starts this thing out hot on eleven to
two run take the first quarter twenty five eighteen, kind
of hold this seven to ten point lead for most
of the first half. Brunson still struggling from the floor
offensively mix getting on a little run at the end
of the second to cut this thing to four at
the half fifty three forty nine six ers at the
half halftime.
Speaker 2 (01:10:37):
Do you guys have like a place to go in
court side? Yeah, so it's really they take really good
care of you. You get to go to this cool sweep.
But my thing is like if they're hooking you up,
especially just because I'm a fan, I don't want to
miss any some of these people get kind of lost
in there because there's so much, you know, free food,
and there's so much talking. I'm if I'm with a
friend of MI, we're pissing and we're going right back,
you know, so I go maybe, yeah, maybe, maybe a
(01:11:00):
Sometimes I'll do like I'll mix it up. Sometimes I'll
do like a gin and soda you know, yellow, Yeah,
you know do Sometimes I'll do like I was doing this.
Sometimes I was doing an apall sprits nice just because
I was like, I can drink a lot and not
get drunk.
Speaker 1 (01:11:13):
So I'll still behave.
Speaker 2 (01:11:14):
Wasn't sprind season maybe sprit season maybe, but I'll do it, yea.
I want to do a Scotch and soda something like that.
So yeah, so we were We're in and out. You
better be right because I don't want to miss the
first Some people take their time coming back in the
and like.
Speaker 1 (01:11:28):
This is disrespectful to the team. You got to be
respectful to the team you watched on TV. In the
third quarter starts the whole front rose empty.
Speaker 2 (01:11:33):
Yeah, but we in Miami bad. Miami is the we
all Miami. They they show up for a second. They
come up to show up in like the midway through
the second. We got our white we got our linen.
It's a white out. That's how they are with comedy
shows in Miami too. They come forty minutes late on
blow It's the worst fucking crowd ever.
Speaker 1 (01:11:48):
I hate it.
Speaker 2 (01:11:49):
But uh, you know, I like Florida, but I did
my last special in Tampa. I got a lot of
love foot for Florida. But Miami cool, say, but not
a good place to do comedy.
Speaker 1 (01:11:57):
I can see that. I mean, why yeah, wa big
Tampa by the.
Speaker 2 (01:12:00):
Way, great great theater, great comedy crowd. Tampa's just cool, man.
I like Tampa. Three quarters of it is like New
Yorkers and Bostonians exactly. Yeah, it's a lot of Northeast people.
I feel like, I don't know, I like the energy,
but yeah, chill. We rushed back to the game. I
think we were next to like Action Bronson or something.
Speaker 1 (01:12:21):
Yeah, another great nick. Yeah, a lot of hardcore fans there, and.
Speaker 2 (01:12:26):
Yeah, I mean it was it was stressful because you look,
we were the two ced, but you don't want to
split with Philly, No, and they it felt like a
game they were going to win. So yeah, I mean, god,
Josh Hart had fifteen rebounds, That's what I'm talking to.
Speaker 3 (01:12:39):
Believe.
Speaker 1 (01:12:39):
What do you think in a halftime with the Brunson struggles?
Are you thinking he's gonna kick it up in the second? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:12:45):
You were, because Brunson is like it's weird to say this,
but you kind of never worry about him. He's such
a high IQ player, as is Josh. I mean, they're
very they Joh. Sometimes Jalen will get criticized for like
hero Ball, but you'll kind of know. I mean, yeah,
he did not shot well this game. Look eight for
twenty nine.
Speaker 1 (01:13:01):
Yeah, yeah, and then over the course of the two
games he was sixteen to fifty.
Speaker 2 (01:13:04):
Five, which is just But then the second half, the
rest of the series, it was like unstoppable. So I
think about Jalen is they were throwing a lot at him.
They had uberanim who six seven, they had a lot
of you know, Max is a good defender too, they
were both throwing a lot at him. But he always
adjusts and always adapts, and he did this series as
you saw, he just took over. So yeah, we were
never You're never that worried about Jalen.
Speaker 1 (01:13:25):
No, and then in the you know, in the clutch,
no matter what he's shooting for the game, you know,
you're scary he's gonna he's gonna.
Speaker 2 (01:13:31):
Get it here and get it, get it rattled in.
It was like a weird kind of shooter mae touch.
So yeah, that was we were worried, but it was
never like what are we going to do?
Speaker 1 (01:13:41):
You know? And also, you know, we didn't never handle
this series.
Speaker 2 (01:13:43):
Obviously, losing an all star level player is going to
put more pressure on your other stars.
Speaker 1 (01:13:49):
So now how are you You're watching the game and
you're super invested, Oh, I mean, you won't even leave
for that halftime thing, right, but ten minutes or yeah,
Wooden time for the third quarter? Like when are you
able to throw up these live tweets that we always.
Speaker 2 (01:14:07):
See, maybe like a timeout or something time O, debfinitely
don't want to be on your phone or a straight
timeout or TV time out?
Speaker 1 (01:14:14):
Yeah yeah, now what's he? Is it better from home
or in person? The live action tweet? Oh? I usually
don't tweet at the games, but I think I was
really angry during this game. There was a little ref tweets.
There's a couple of the rest these. I said that, Yeah, yeah,
apparently Kyle Lowry gets fourteen fouls a game that was
(01:14:35):
also tweeted. Here's the thing about Kyle Lowry. But he's
that butt man.
Speaker 2 (01:14:40):
Yeah, he's got literally he's got airbags to take a
charge every time he falls. But no, Kyle Lowry is
tough because he's such a he's hard not to respect.
But now he's he was the second guy on that
championship team. He's with the Raptors with Kawhi right, him
and young siakam amazing team when you look at it now.
But then years and he played with Nurse there and
(01:15:01):
he's a Philly guy and a Nova guy and he's
back home now.
Speaker 1 (01:15:05):
And Lowry's a pest, Like he's so physical.
Speaker 2 (01:15:08):
He's the dude you play with and pickup who's smaller,
who just keeps slapping your wrists and you're like, dude,
that was a foul and he's like, yeah, right, but
for some reason the refs are doing that too. He
made me crazy, So yeah, that series. And also Lowry
is like a big game guy, so he was going
to that big tail end here. You know he's still playing,
but you know he's older now, but he's hard. He's
another guy that's hard not to respect, the little guys
(01:15:29):
who just play their fucking guts out. You know, you
know you don't you hate him. Movies on the other
team mean, a lot of people love Julian. It was
like the same thing. Julian was not the biggest guy,
but he just fucking found a way. And that's how
Lowry is to me.
Speaker 1 (01:15:40):
It's true. I sent Sam the al but you know,
heat me when we were talking about Kyle Lowery the
other Oh a big ass and you got join head
all the way up. It all right, you picked this
game for the last twenty four seconds for sure. Oh yeah, right,
why don't you give us the walk through these last
twenty four seconds? Break it down for us?
Speaker 2 (01:15:59):
What's meaning down by with thirty seconds left only being
done five times? I think yeah, I mean in the
modern NBA with the threes, it's a little more likely
to happen now. But yeah, it was still like, yeah,
we didn't feel good. Obviously, Brunston hits that three that
rims in, which was like, okay, we got the bounds.
Then it was this is the famous play the Heart
steal from Maxi. Brunson and Heart are just fucking like, yeah,
(01:16:22):
are we fucking attacking them? It was like a fuck,
probably was a foul, but they're just fucking wailing on them.
Speaker 3 (01:16:26):
Let the boys play.
Speaker 2 (01:16:27):
Let the boys play, and we get a steal the
dish shot Dante misses. But this is Hartenstein's kind of
the unsung hero of this game that no one talks about.
He gets the offensive rebound. I think he gets the
og who somehow kicks it out to Dante, who's he's
a shooter. He's like, I missed one, but no hesitation,
just right through the net. We lost our fucking minds.
(01:16:48):
And then here's the thing. Though the game's not over.
This is like the LJ four point play where he
hits the three and gets foul, but you've got still
got to make the free throw.
Speaker 1 (01:16:56):
Okay, so here's the three. I believe we're up. What
are we up? One? One? Right?
Speaker 2 (01:17:01):
We're up one point? MAXI so quick having a great game.
As you can see, thirty five points comes off, the
pick goes to the rack. Hardenstein again heroically swats it
off the backboard. We lost our minds and that was
when we knew we had them. So that was holy crap.
What a game to be at and to see it
up close. That was That's why I picked the game
(01:17:24):
right now, a playoff win with two huge plays with
two guys who aren't on the team anymore other stuff
about you see me cheering?
Speaker 1 (01:17:30):
I loved it, Sam, Damn, Rick Brunson, the whole crew, baby,
the squad. Are you like almost making out with your
boy after this or what? Like? How excited? This has
got to be insane? We were losing our the most
important nick game you've seen in your real life at
this point.
Speaker 2 (01:17:45):
Oh, I'd say so yeah, And we were like, oh wow,
this team is It's that thing where like this team
it's Gooney's never say die.
Speaker 1 (01:17:53):
That's what it is.
Speaker 2 (01:17:53):
It's like when you when your team doesn't quit, You're
just like, oh, that's everything because that makes you believe.
I've always when when they believe and when the team
represents the city, like, that's why we fell in love
with the nineties. Next the Anthony Masons and Charles Oakleys
and Patrick Ewings and John Starks, like these guys, Derek Harper,
they were they were just tough and they played like
they gave a ship. And that's how this team plays.
(01:18:15):
So you know, I've told this to Josh and Jalen.
When I met him, I was like, that's why we
love you so much, and like we just want them
to know how much we appreciate it as New Yorkers.
Speaker 1 (01:18:25):
You know, I didn't hear any of that. I just
instantly when you said goonies never say die, I went
to I didn't know you had braces.
Speaker 3 (01:18:35):
Remember that.
Speaker 1 (01:18:37):
The best part of it, dude, his girlfriends that kissed
me in the dark. Like Sam tweeted after this game, Wow,
this Knicks team just keeps finding away. This squad summed
it up. That's a real magic. Johnson tweet. I'm really
not taking an I love Magic Johnson's tweets where he's
just like, the Knicks won the game tonight, fine, and
(01:18:59):
you're just like, yeah, that's what happened. I do the
same thing.
Speaker 2 (01:19:03):
How about this Lebron James great player? Well, it's like,
what can you say at a certain point. Like Brunson
and these guys, they just like I just like, you
just keep doing it.
Speaker 1 (01:19:14):
Bruns.
Speaker 2 (01:19:15):
The same thing about Og, You're just like, Wow, I
fucking love this guy. Like some of these guys, they
just you can't believe they're on your team. We were
bad for a long time, so when they're good, you
just you want to soak up every minute.
Speaker 1 (01:19:27):
Is this the craziest game in the Garden you've ever
been to? It was?
Speaker 2 (01:19:31):
I mean when Dante hit that ship, you feel the
building shaking. That's the crazy thing. You hear about stories
that Walt Frasier will tell, like when Willis Reid came
in the building and he goes it was so loud
and the building was shaking that they they were like,
I can't I'm scared the building's going to collapse. That's
what it felt like. Honestly, I do a thing when
players are shooting free throws, well, I just will get
(01:19:51):
up and stomp because I do feel like you feel
it on the floor. Yeah, it's annoying and that's I mean,
when everyone's doing that, you're like, this is fucking crazy.
Speaker 3 (01:19:59):
So yeah, did you talk ship to any of the
Philly players during this?
Speaker 1 (01:20:04):
Not really, but.
Speaker 2 (01:20:06):
More talking to the refs. I'll talk to the refs.
Some of them will give you a look too. It's funny,
like Tony Brothers always is just like shut up. Uh yeah,
he always just looks at me like this idiot. But yeah,
I'm like, come on, call it fair.
Speaker 3 (01:20:19):
You see.
Speaker 1 (01:20:20):
You know what you gotta do, say me, Yeah, you
got to invite these refs to one of your stand ups.
You butter them up a little. It happened once.
Speaker 3 (01:20:28):
It happened once.
Speaker 2 (01:20:29):
No, not, but one of the refs came over to me.
I was like, I'm a huge fan, and I was like,
then call the game fair.
Speaker 1 (01:20:33):
And my mom was next to me and she laughed.
She was like, she was like, just say thank you.
I was like, call it fair. If you are a
real fan. He's a fan, like, call it fair. Won
the game. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:20:45):
My mom was like you're a psycho, like something's wrong
with you. I was like, I'm a fan. I'm a fan.
Speaker 1 (01:20:49):
MA when just celebrate after this?
Speaker 2 (01:20:53):
I don't remember, I don't remember. Yeah, it was a
good night. We we definitely were just like what the fuck?
Speaker 1 (01:20:59):
What the fuck? That? And that was It was one
of those nights for sure. Now I'm just picturing like
Dick Bavetta front row with the the Comedy Seller watching
Sam Show. Oh my, Dicky b God bless. We'll be
right back after this quick break Jack, aftermath of this
on this bad Boy one O four one oh one,
Nicks win it, take the series ultimately and go win
(01:21:23):
this thing six. They fought maxim They fo game from us.
I mean they would not. It was no easy series,
as they always do. And then just to clarify and
stress how insane that comeback was. It was just the
fourth time in the play by play era dating back
to ninety six, that a team has won a playoff
game after trailing by at least five points in the
last thirty seconds Jesus only other times Miami against San
(01:21:46):
Antonio in Game six with twenty thirteen finals, Arry Golden
State's overtime win over New Orleans in game three the
twenty fifteen UH Playoffs. Kobe's game winner to beat Phoenix
in game four sick, pretty crazy, Bro, that was a
cool Phoenix team, too good company.
Speaker 2 (01:22:02):
Yeah that was like when that when he kind of
Kobe just dribbled right and fucking hit that right on.
Raja Bell think it was?
Speaker 1 (01:22:09):
Yeah, I remember, Holy smokes, Bell. You clearly miss TIBs
a little because I love him. I love TIBs. Yeah,
he was a hard short end of the stick last year.
Speaker 2 (01:22:18):
He did It's a tough thing to lose, and he
brought us back to relevance and his disciplinarian style, Like
I love it. I love a guy who feels like
he cares and screams at you. It feels like Pacino
and like any given or something, You're like, this dude
gives a fuck.
Speaker 1 (01:22:32):
It really does.
Speaker 2 (01:22:32):
So Yeah, that hurt. That hurt for sure, But also
like you know, Brown is doing a good job right now.
It's a tough business. It's a tough business man.
Speaker 1 (01:22:41):
Tough business. And then lastly, before we go to name
this game and score this game, Sam, what does the
Knicks mean to you? I mean a lot, I mean
name we name the game.
Speaker 2 (01:22:52):
Yeah, it's I think it's the Dante three because the
different it's not the game, it's the three.
Speaker 1 (01:22:58):
It's like the Dante three. I like that.
Speaker 2 (01:23:00):
And look, we we get we get a little bit
of bias with Mike. Breen did a double bang here
when he hit the ban and a lot of those
are next games, but he as a pro, he hides it,
which I respect.
Speaker 1 (01:23:13):
But you know, it's so funny.
Speaker 2 (01:23:15):
Reggie Miller's on these games now and I feel like
he's really hamming up, like the Knicks are good, but
we know he hates us, you know, so he'll let
it slip out. Anytime Atlanta went on a run in
that series, Reggie Miller would be like, this could be.
It would be like, Reggie, shut the fuck up. Shut
the fuck up, Reggie. But uh, yeah, Dante. I mean
the fact that Dante hit him, the fact that Breen's
(01:23:36):
calling it was pretty special, and uh, I think it's
the Dante three. But Hardenstein is the unsung hero of
this whole, like two sequences, and and Hardenstein knows. I'm
glad he knows how much I love him. I hate
that he went to Okay see because he's we know
how how essential that guy is to a defense and like,
what a glue guy he is.
Speaker 1 (01:23:57):
He's a hell of a player. Not place to go
to though, I mean, dude, Jesus crime and I can't
stand watching. I hate it.
Speaker 2 (01:24:07):
The door get to beat you with bats and then
if you breathe on shake googus Alexander, they're just like you,
You're out of the game.
Speaker 1 (01:24:13):
Yeah, I hate it. It drives me. Sha is like
probably the best player who I like watching the least. Yes,
people say that, all the basketball heads say that he's
incredible talent, but I just like it's not. Yeah, the
valve bating that it's like a terroristic act. I hate it.
I hate it, absolutely hate it's to watch. I like
(01:24:34):
watching ant I do like watching and brings it baby
everything athletically and unreal like Jordan. He looks like Jordan
a little bit and great in that Sandler movie, he's
also great. He's hilarious. And that the Spanish dude did
really good. The main guy. Yeah, yeah, he acted his balls.
It was a great movie for this game. Is this
(01:24:57):
the greatest game of all time? Led score?
Speaker 2 (01:24:59):
I mean it's clearly like, look, this is my bias
here obviously, So Steaks, Steaks zero to ten, we think
you're not you can't give it. It's probably an eight
because like, look, if you lose, it's one to one.
But I just think losing this game, you can't go
higher than eight. But it did feel like a big loss.
Going you have home court against a team with a
(01:25:19):
guy who's still an MVP, Like, yeah, he's hurt, but
he's still I think he dropped fifty in one of
the games this series.
Speaker 1 (01:25:25):
I mean he was a problem still. So Steaks, you're
giving an eight? Yeah? Is that? Is that too high?
Or feeling like that's good? I'm going to seven point nine. Okay,
shout out my brother's birth here, seven six. We're all right.
Speaker 2 (01:25:38):
Yeah, I told you mine's going to be a little higher,
and I'm going to be higher in star power too.
Speaker 1 (01:25:42):
What's the star power? Zero to ten decimals? Encouraged you
were there?
Speaker 2 (01:25:46):
I was, oh, you know what, so we can count? Oh,
then go fucking like nine to five because you know
all the like Rock was there, you know what, no,
fuck it go nine eight? Yeah, Rock's there, Stiller's there.
This is fucking legit. It's MSG, It's MSG, and fucking Brunson,
Joel Embiid. You know, like Maxi's a star. You guys
(01:26:07):
are gonna it's gonna be comically low. What you give it,
I'll give it.
Speaker 1 (01:26:10):
That's eight point five, all right, it's still I mean,
it's the Garden Playoffs.
Speaker 2 (01:26:14):
I got tickets, so really you shouldn't be able to
go higher than eight point five the way out of
seventy five.
Speaker 1 (01:26:18):
The gameplayer this, I mean, this was incredible to watch.
It was.
Speaker 2 (01:26:21):
It was, it was, but it was really the last
minute because it was a tough game to watch because Brunson,
as I said, shot eight of twenty nine. So I'll
say gameplay factoring in the ending, I'll go like eight five.
I like that because I don't want to go too
high because the whole game was and I hate no
one talks about this, but when your team is good,
it's kind of a miserable experience. When your team sucks,
(01:26:43):
you're like, I'm playing with house money. When your team
has expectations, you're like this, I don't have fingernails left.
Speaker 1 (01:26:48):
I'm fucking panicking. This sucks. I think I'm going eight seven.
I mean, wow, Okay, maybe I undersold them last shot.
Whenever you have like that five second thing. We'll always
remember that. Yeah, there's go too love.
Speaker 2 (01:27:00):
Maybe I should go like eight nine because because I
think that ending was insane.
Speaker 1 (01:27:06):
Anytime you got a walk off anything that that race
game that always raises the gameplay. Now the name of that,
I'll give it.
Speaker 2 (01:27:15):
Like you know what, there's like a different rating for
New Yorkers and just sports fans because this isn't like
the catch, this isn't like you know, I can't do that.
But it's like, I think I gotta go like eight
five here because every New Yorker knows it, every New Yorker.
Like when we lost Dante, it hurt. It really hurt
because he was only a nick for one year, which
(01:27:37):
is crazy because of how much we loved him like
he was. He was such a beloved player, and New
York's got so many Italians so like they were like Dante,
So that was tough to lose him. Uh yeah, that god,
I still root for him every every game like that, Achilles,
Oh that hurt. I'm going eight point four, okay, I
(01:27:57):
think I mean, look seventy three. A long time I
was bringing us down on this bring down.
Speaker 1 (01:28:04):
That's fair? Where is it rank on the list.
Speaker 3 (01:28:07):
So it's a seven point nine.
Speaker 4 (01:28:10):
So it's our tide for our sixty seventh game with
the miracle in Miami Doug fluteie BC versus Miami in
nineteen eighty four.
Speaker 1 (01:28:19):
I don't know about that. You see the Veritech A
rod fight, Oh wow, a Casey flags see here?
Speaker 3 (01:28:26):
Oh man, he he's awesome.
Speaker 4 (01:28:29):
It's also tied with game three of the two thousand
and two Eastern Conference Final first round.
Speaker 3 (01:28:33):
What game is that? Let me jesus.
Speaker 1 (01:28:36):
That's got to be like the Spurs or something. That's
the new one with Davis, that's like the first round? Sorry,
the final first round is damn?
Speaker 3 (01:28:44):
Did we just do that with with BD? That was
the Baron Davis.
Speaker 1 (01:28:48):
Baron Davis was money, dude. That guy.
Speaker 2 (01:28:50):
That guy had a bag. He was one of the
first point guards with like hops. We were like holy ship.
It was like that era of point we had like uh,
Steve Francis and Marbury could jump out of the building.
Speaker 1 (01:29:04):
Back then, you know, he was dunking on Carol Income
and that was that was so cool. That was the
That was when I liked the Warriors. The Warriors, and
then after that I moved to Boston and I never
liked you know, then they got really good and I
kind of never got to see him, but you like that.
I could see d Spree well before him. Those they
were shitty run Yes, those were the fun Warrior teams.
(01:29:25):
With the Warriors teams.
Speaker 2 (01:29:26):
Now, it's like, I just feel so I'm so envious
of those fans because like you got Curry, yes, and
Draymond is like you hate him if he's not on
your team, but if.
Speaker 1 (01:29:34):
He love the team, He's like Draymond Green is a
fucking He's unreal. Yeah, he's the ultimate. Hate him if
he's on your team, love me, Like yeah to a t.
But I would love him if he was my if
I was a Warriors guy for sure. Yeah. I hate
that they're a little bit of a shell of themselves.
But still the waning dynasty is safe. Whatever it always ends,
I know, but I love those nothing last forever boys,
(01:29:59):
Nothing lasts forever.
Speaker 2 (01:30:00):
I don't know, we missed that. Maybe we nailed this, dude,
Yeah we miss anything. No, I think we got it.
It was it was a special night. I mean, anytime
the Knicks are in the playoffs, I'm just like, I'm
loving it. Man, it's like you feel lucky to be
watching a fun team and like, you know, the world's
a fucked up place, so we're grateful for sports that
that brings us together. And uh yeah, no, we love
(01:30:21):
basketball in New York.
Speaker 1 (01:30:22):
Now, amen in that Red Cup last night at your
special over in at the Wards it united, yeah, performing Yeah,
was that a Bodega cat in there?
Speaker 2 (01:30:31):
I was drinking a Bodega cat and uh and coke,
I like a whiskey coat.
Speaker 1 (01:30:35):
It was hit last night. It was Rachel made a
good one. I was making cat. I said, I can't
pass it up when I saw it sitting there. Yeah, no,
I loved it. Man.
Speaker 2 (01:30:45):
I saw Jackie on tour we were in Charlotte. What
happened that night to me? That when the way to Richmond,
I texted you. Yes, I was like, dude, So I
did a tour bush of most of the tour, but
the first one was like just four or five nights.
I was like, the bus is really expensive, so you
find way, so like, yeah, let's just do a sprinter
van after the show, which is a little annoying because
I like the.
Speaker 1 (01:31:03):
Tour bus because you could sleep on the bus. You
wake up in the next city, you can go to
the YMCA, play some ball baby and all that. I
get a schmidsen you heard that bit? I heard that one.
So then they watched two guys sock each other off.
I don't know that's going to be in the next special,
that one. Gotta wait for that one. That's not the
one coming out soon. But so then we're on the
(01:31:25):
road and Gary Veder and now you know my boy Gary,
and we're in the sprinter van, just Gary and I
head to the next city late night and it's like
we're all tired. We're like, let's watch this. Let's watch
one of the Oscar movies. We haven't seen.
Speaker 3 (01:31:37):
It was that.
Speaker 2 (01:31:37):
It was when the substance just came out with to
me more so we throw that on. We're watching the
back seat the driver complete like we would have fallen asleep.
We were watching this movie, so shout out to this movie,
which we didn't enjoy. We were like, this movie sucks,
but we didn't like it. So it was keeping us
awake because we were like, this fucking sucks.
Speaker 1 (01:31:52):
What the hell?
Speaker 2 (01:31:53):
And then the driver just falls asleep and just drives
us right off the fucking road, and we're like dude,
what the fuck. And it's like we're like, we had
to grab him and he woke up. He finally off
the fucking road. You can pull into a rest area
and another car pick us up.
Speaker 1 (01:32:05):
We're like, now we're taking another car. I was texting
with you and brow Holy ship in the last terrifying.
That was like, shout out to the substance. Shout he
kept us alive. She was freaking that thing. Oh my god,
that was like, bro, I that was scary. That was crazy.
I went even there and I was like, my heart
was raising. When you text me that, you know that
you probably had some Bodega Cat in you, and the
(01:32:27):
nerves were nice and calm to handle the situation perfectly.
I just got in a huge wormhole of listening about
this cook on the Titanic that drank so much whiskey
that he was able to tread the twenty eighth degree
water for fucking four hours? What and he survived? Holy
you saw that. You heard it here.
Speaker 2 (01:32:47):
Alcohol is healthy. Yeah, alcohol saves live. Oh, Dagga Cat
for you, Bodega Cat. Everyone go check out his podcast.
Speaker 1 (01:32:54):
We might be drunk. You gotta come back, man, gotta
come back. Yeah. I gotta come back. It's always fun.
Speaker 2 (01:32:59):
I'm on the what I'm doing, I'm not doing a
ton really, I'm doing Verona, New York Attorney Snow Casino.
It's a cool casino. And then uh yeah, I'm doing Europe.
I'm going all over Europe. So I'm starting to Lisbon
and I got Athens Budapest, Holy shit, of my numbers.
Bad in Budapest. You want to see a sad seating
shard because you never know where. And then like Zagreb, Croatia,
I've sold a shiploader and you never know where you're
gonna have, so that's why you take a chance. That's
(01:33:20):
just beautiful. That's what I've heard, and I also saw it.
And I also just like I just wanted to go
to these places. Yeah, I'm hitting like, you know, uh,
Stockholm again, I'm hitting Copenhagen again. But then I've never
been to you know, Warsaw, so I'm doing a Warsaw
and I'm doing like, uh, all these other places.
Speaker 1 (01:33:37):
There's a great in Copenhagen, really like the Yeah it's
it's called like the gas Light or something. I've heard
of this told me about this one. Yeah, I got
in the airport with my with Lily Nice and we
left our passports in a family changing room because she
had to like pee, and we're walking down to the
(01:33:58):
terminal and all of a sudd and I hear my name.
We hear Julian Edelman has to come to and and
I'm like Russian because we're kind of late, and Lily
goes Dad, They're saying your name and I was like, what,
oh ship our passports win got him.
Speaker 2 (01:34:13):
It was crazy, great burger shout out. Copenhagen's cool and
uh yeah, I mean, I'm fired up. I'm going to
like Vienna to I'm going to all these places I
just wanted to go to. So I was like, yeah,
I'll just you know.
Speaker 3 (01:34:22):
That is awesome.
Speaker 1 (01:34:23):
You diaking Gary with you.
Speaker 2 (01:34:25):
My boy Chase is coming with Yeah, doing a buddy trip.
He came to me last time. Yeah, and then uh,
but Gary's usually on the road with me. Yes, and
Gary is in this movie that hopefully it's gonna be
out the top of next year with all this guy scene,
it's an old time scene. I'm proud Julian, I'm proud
of this performance he gives. I'm like, this is fucking epic.
Speaker 1 (01:34:41):
So you're I can't wait to watch it Netflix next year. Yeah. Yeah,
that's that's the word. What is the name of the movie,
the tour?
Speaker 3 (01:34:50):
The tour?
Speaker 2 (01:34:51):
Yeah and so Yeah, it's got a it's got a
loaded cast of comedians like Santino is great and it
stopp is great.
Speaker 1 (01:34:58):
Funded. So everyone got to go streaming, man, everyone goes streaming.
He put all his money and his effort, his writing,
everything into this. If it doesn't work, I'm homeless. He's homeless.
I'm living in these uh y mc as get nice fits,
young men. Ysh was give Sam that trophy?
Speaker 3 (01:35:17):
We had that since we had that since.
Speaker 1 (01:35:20):
First, we forgot to give you our trophy that you
gotta game me bro, I'm honored, so we wanted to
give that to you. Jack. What is our category most
requested guest?
Speaker 4 (01:35:31):
Sam beat out Bill Belli, best Future, Tom Brady and
Bill Belichick and you want Sammy, thank you for great
to see you guys.
Speaker 1 (01:35:41):
Thanks Sam Man. It's always great to get the insight
of Sam because Sam's like our ultimate like insider to
the comic world. He is is our portal. He's our portal.
It felt like we're getting the band back together too.
It did like old times baby down on street man,
you know, like it's so fun dropping his name. It
(01:36:05):
is to the comic world like that's my like, oh yeah,
boys with Sam Morrell.
Speaker 3 (01:36:11):
Dude, I fucking love Sam.
Speaker 1 (01:36:13):
That guy is so talented, like you know what I mean,
like any comic, Like he's a comics comic. Oh for sure,
is he comics comics? He's comics comic. I think so.
Speaker 3 (01:36:23):
I think he's wildly well regarded as like one of
the better joke writer comedians, joke writer comedian, unbelievable comedians.
They say that women mark both.
Speaker 1 (01:36:31):
I shouldn't say that. I mean as a you know,
as a roaster kind of Honestly, I should start retaining
the comics. You could start retaining anything that would be great.
That would be great. But the retaining of this is
(01:36:52):
we're comic eccentric. Yeah, we're comic and Jason, we're coming
and Jason, we're good in Everhood comics. Where's Gronk. We're
not word guys. Not word guys. Man. What I'm a
little discombobulated because I feel like I'm a little thirsty
and need a little rehydration.
Speaker 3 (01:37:14):
Oh one for.
Speaker 1 (01:37:15):
Two, oh completion percentages up. Those are hard, hard, you
know what you gotta. I always tell the young kids,
you don't catch the ball with your hands, you catch
it with your eyeballs. And that's just a reminder to myself,
just like I have to remind myself every once in
a while. I got to get one of these liquid ivs.
(01:37:37):
Put it in the all inclusive, awesome little holder.
Speaker 3 (01:37:41):
You rip tear.
Speaker 1 (01:37:46):
And let's go and bear, which is rare, and we go.
I like to give two shakes, one, two, three, four?
(01:38:10):
Am Ready, what do we got?
Speaker 3 (01:38:14):
What do we got?
Speaker 1 (01:38:14):
Oh? Do you know what we got? Drink up and
lock in because it's time for everyone's favorite game. We
all know it is. Do you know ball? TM trademark?
That's a good one. Do you know do you know ball?
We gotta do stuff with that, suspect it's probably already taken.
(01:38:36):
Your favorite game?
Speaker 3 (01:38:37):
Do you know ball?
Speaker 1 (01:38:38):
The game where we answer football questions so thought provoking
that you'll need a Liquid IV by the end. Let's
get into it all right, first, and do you know ball? Jules?
Speaker 3 (01:38:52):
What is it?
Speaker 1 (01:38:53):
What is a football cliche that drives you nuts? Something
you hear people say oh and over again They're like, Okay,
yeah it is what it is.
Speaker 3 (01:39:04):
It is what it is.
Speaker 1 (01:39:04):
It's like cliche. Oh god, I believe it, coaches, and
is it is? It is what it is? Such a
nothing to say. It's like, all right, just don't say anything.
Then it is what it is. Look fellas, it is
what it is. Cliche?
Speaker 3 (01:39:21):
What else?
Speaker 1 (01:39:22):
What are other cliches?
Speaker 3 (01:39:24):
Like a scrappy gym rat that's in there? Thinker three
bowl player?
Speaker 1 (01:39:30):
Oh god, to take it one day at a time,
One day at a time. Coaches, you're just basically describing
a white, white professional athlete. Is that the cliche you said?
Those are the guys. They play the game the right way.
They play the game the right way. They're quicker than fast,
they're high motor guys. Definitely was a coach's son. You know,
(01:39:52):
he's not going to wow you in jim shorts, but
let me tell you, he's not gonna make a mistake.
I football like you. Oh my god, I love those
a cliche. That's a great cliche. Uh, it gets me everything.
Got to get Nikovitch for that one. Oh boy, he
will go off. Imagine if he had Tat's sleeves. Nikovich
thinks if he had sleeves, he'd have thirty percent more money.
(01:40:14):
And why didn't he invest in himself? He just I
guess he was Chris Long. Chris Long made a lot
of money n sleeves. That's what Nico used to say.
If you're a white guy, you need to have a
sleeve to get paid as a d end. Look at it.
Speaker 3 (01:40:28):
What a take.
Speaker 4 (01:40:30):
Oh my god, that is an unbelievable take. Does Trey
Hendrickson have I don't think he does. Max Crosby does
Max Crosby does mad Max for sure.
Speaker 1 (01:40:40):
Henderson, but you know he's also had a you know,
yet they didn't want to pay him. Yeah, but he
got paid. He got paid, He got paid. Okay, we'll
be right back after this quick break. Biggest biggest no
no for rookies in the NFL locker room, biggest no
no for NFO rookie in the locker room. Don't be
(01:41:05):
coming in and touching the radio. Oh yeah, E in
the weight room, don't be touching the radio. Okay, let's
let's let's let's don't be heard, be seen. We got
a whole lot to learn. And I I honestly think
(01:41:26):
the young like, I don't know, I haven't I was
just getting I was I've never been in the nil
locker room, but I I really do think these these
younger football players are smart enough and and read the
room so much better than what a lot of guys
(01:41:47):
did back in the past. Not in these last five.
I think they're going to I think they're gonna you know,
because they hear the whole, the whole, uh saying that,
you know, these guys saw off this that you know,
they don't know how to get work, they can't get
yelled at, they can't be coach tard da da da.
You know. I think they are smart. I think I
(01:42:08):
think the newer players are so much smarter and so
much more informed on the craft, like even now from
fifteen to twenty years ago, like from when I got
into twenty years before that, it's like there was like
three dudes. Now everyone's doing the best thing for everything
and and and they all ultimately are gonna see these
(01:42:29):
contracts that are so big that I think they'll fall
in line. So be seen, don't be heard, don't touch
the radio. No bird watching. Yeah you can't, but who knows,
who knows? It's a different locker room now, you know
birds have rights too.
Speaker 3 (01:42:48):
Thanks?
Speaker 1 (01:42:49):
All right, Next one, you put say you put Patrick
Mahomes on the current New York Jets, how far do
they go? I think they I think they gave me
get to the second round of the playoffs. About the quarterback,
I don't know. If they win division their wild card,
they're they're definitely in playoff. They're they're definitely maybe probably
(01:43:10):
winning a playoff game because they have a pretty damn
talented roster, right they had first picks for the last
twelve years, Garrett Wilson's Garrett Wilson, Breese Hall. I think
they got some really good lineman, they're a quarterback away.
In the defense, you got Aaron Glenn getting that defense situated.
They got a lot of like really high draft talent.
Speaker 3 (01:43:30):
That's that question.
Speaker 1 (01:43:31):
That's a good question hypothetical, you know. And and Patrick
does move the needle that much.
Speaker 3 (01:43:36):
Yeah, and like a belief that you can win to Yeah,
Like that's.
Speaker 1 (01:43:41):
If Patrick Mahome walked in that locker room, everyone there
would think that they're going to Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (01:43:46):
I mean they did that with Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 1 (01:43:48):
Yeah, but if they would have got if they would
have got seven years before, it would have been different.
I Mean, Mahomes is not even thirty yet. I mean, yeah,
he was thirty this year. Pat, I think he's going
to thirty. That sounds right, He's still pretty Yeah, he's
thirty right now. Yeah, ninety five okay, yeah, I mean
(01:44:10):
it'd be a crowded room though with you know, he'd
have to compete with kid club Neck and Brady Cook
and Bailey's Appy as well, and you now, of course,
but I think he could win that job.
Speaker 3 (01:44:20):
In the Jets.
Speaker 4 (01:44:20):
Who knows, you're starting a franchise and you can pick
any defensive player in their prime.
Speaker 3 (01:44:27):
Who are you taking.
Speaker 1 (01:44:29):
Lawrence Taylor game record? Lawrence Taylor?
Speaker 3 (01:44:34):
I don't. I mean the football that.
Speaker 1 (01:44:37):
The college foot like the when you go to like
knowledge for football, and the university I studied of knowledge
of football was under Belichick, and I may have been
I'm so biased to it because that's all I heard
in fucking meetings about was this guy Lawrence Taylor. And
then you watch the film, you hear the stories, you
watch the man speak, I defensive player. It's got to
(01:44:59):
be lt. You know Ed Reid's in there, Ray Lewis
is in there. Those are some of the guys that
I played against. Miles, Garrett, Miles, Garrett, Julius Pepper's Reggie White,
Reggie White. But I think I'm going LT. I'm with you.
(01:45:19):
Any secondary guys beyond revis like a would you do
a Troy? I mean beyond Ed Reid? Would you do
a revis or a Troy? I think I think if
I'm building the defense or you gotta have either a
guy that will absolutely wreck the game or a green
doc guy which could be a safety or that middle backer.
(01:45:40):
I'm with you, someone's gonna get everyone communicated and lined up.
You either got to have, like LT, like someone that's
either just gonna fucking wreck it or someone that can
get things communicated. I'm with you there.
Speaker 3 (01:45:52):
So I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:45:52):
That's that's a great question. I like that. I like
that answer. All right. I still get LT highlights on
my Instagram all the time. It's crazy. Got to stop
and watch them. Ah, next one, Jules and do your
no ball. Will we ever see a Super Bowl played
outside the United States?
Speaker 3 (01:46:08):
Yeah? Probably in our lifetime. Where where and when?
Speaker 1 (01:46:13):
I don't know, probably what ten years with the seven
years and where it all depends. That's a tricky game
because a lot of these stadiums are being built to
be promised to have a Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (01:46:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:46:23):
Right, so it's kind of like, well, well, when's that
time that break in to go and when are they
going to be desperate to really try to expand the game?
Not desperate, but we'll take the next level of expanding
the game, because that would be the next level, you know,
is bringing to London.
Speaker 4 (01:46:40):
Or London, and London's got to be with Mexico's right,
Mexico City London, it would be like.
Speaker 1 (01:46:45):
Mexico, you know, yeah, time change, I guess, yeah, you
do it it London. London feels like the make it
a night game in London and then an afternoon kickoff
in America. Yeah, they go for that.
Speaker 4 (01:47:01):
Old school make it like a if you made it
like an eight o'clock or nine o'clock game in London,
that would be three in the East Coast.
Speaker 3 (01:47:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:47:10):
Maybe the TV part is why maybe they still that's
my biggest hang up. Yeah, it's just it's it's tough
with the TVs. Yeah, and then also the promising for
that's what you look at the let there's twelve new stadiums.
Speaker 3 (01:47:24):
That are are being there. Did in Miami just lose
their like rotation to be in the Super Bowl. Did
you see that?
Speaker 1 (01:47:28):
Oh, I didn't see that.
Speaker 3 (01:47:29):
I think they got knocked out of the like the
regular rotation.
Speaker 1 (01:47:33):
But eleven of those twelve are indoor facilities. Indoor stadiums, Yeah,
the only one that's not as Buffalo.
Speaker 3 (01:47:42):
Are they getting one? They're not getting one?
Speaker 1 (01:47:43):
What? No? No, they probably won't because of that. But
that's why all these teams are trying to get the
indoor Chicago, Minnesota, like even Kansas City.
Speaker 3 (01:47:56):
Chicago going indoors with everyone.
Speaker 1 (01:47:58):
I hate that. I just hate it. Talks about the
NFL turning more to basketball and all this with the
rule changes. Look at the venues man on top of
the rule changes by everything indoor, the elements are part
of football. Yeah, but I don't know, you start getting
these gambling things involved. A lot of people were pissed
off about the Denver Pets matchup because that weather. I
(01:48:20):
think Denver, are they getting an indoor stadium? They Their
stay is relatively new, Well so was the Titan twenty years.
The Titans are getting a brand new indoor station.
Speaker 3 (01:48:30):
That's gonna be sick.
Speaker 1 (01:48:31):
They got the same They got a stadium the same
year as the Patriots, same stadium, it's crazy to think
Jillet's kind of old.
Speaker 4 (01:48:38):
Male, like, yeah, it's twenty twenty five years is Yeah,
they said Miami's uh, don't ever, mister Kraft, never build
it down. Seriously, it was a big when that you
guys went to turf. You weren't there though, right, it
was it was before you when they switched the turf. No,
you were there when they switched. No, they it was
always turf when there was like a bad playoff game
(01:48:59):
against the Jets and they're like, fuck the ship, we're
putting turf.
Speaker 1 (01:49:02):
Yeah, did you compare?
Speaker 3 (01:49:06):
You should ask this one. Okay, all right, hold on,
hold on, talk about bird watching.
Speaker 1 (01:49:10):
Hey, now, did you compare? It's a great one. Did
you compare your pe to the urine charts in the
locker room on a regular basis or did you guys
have the.
Speaker 3 (01:49:22):
Charts just to check your hydration?
Speaker 1 (01:49:24):
You had charts on all your teammate you know, it
was like, you're not a good teammate. You don't essentially know.
With the color hit, I was always a very hydrated guy.
Speaker 3 (01:49:34):
It's the weirdest color you've ever had.
Speaker 1 (01:49:36):
Oh, dude, close to brown, bro, we're talking earth tone stuff. Yeah, yeah,
it was not au but rare, very rarely. That was
before I got introduced to liquid IV. You get way
before training camp is when you can sometimes get the
dark p Yeah, And that's why they do it, because
you know, you go out and say it's two degrees
(01:50:01):
full padded practice like eighty percent humidity. It gets not
like Florida humidity, but it gets humid in the Northeast.
You can lose twelve pounds. You can lose twelve pounds
of water, so you have to drink I think twelve
ounces for every pound you lose to get your pee back.
Speaker 3 (01:50:20):
That's a lot.
Speaker 1 (01:50:21):
So they they monitor that with the athletes because when
you're really dehydrated, you're susceptible to pulling your your hamstring
soft tissue is like on high alert. So that's why
the the pe charts are theirs. It's not like just like, oh,
this is gonna make you think crop correctly. No, this
is because this guy's contract is worth thirty five million
(01:50:45):
dollars over five years.
Speaker 3 (01:50:48):
Drink some fucking water.
Speaker 1 (01:50:49):
Drink some water because you do not need to get
hurt in practice with something you can control. Yeah, now
it's a meaningful chart. Yeah, all right, what's the chart.
We used to guys. Guys would get so mad with
the peach charts because we used to have to pee
in a cup for hydration if you if you were
on like the list, like because they'll monitor you and
(01:51:11):
then they'll like for the first like week, and then
they'll kind of have a database of who is a
non hydrator and who is so then then you put
in the program for non hydration. So like usually some
of the big guys, you know, they got to go
in or like a guy that you know pull the hamstring.
(01:51:34):
They have to show their they gotta they gotta like
go in there prove that they're hydrated.
Speaker 4 (01:51:39):
Here's a dumb question you don't have to answer for
like drug tests. Yeah, did you have to have a spotter?
You mean, like someone like actually sees your dick peeing.
Speaker 1 (01:51:48):
So when you get a drug test, depending on testers,
but you have to there'll be two two drug testers.
You have to pull your pants down, your legs like
fully exposed kindergarten style. We're all the way down and
you're you got Donald duck, You're bare ass cheeks. You
(01:52:09):
have to like sometimes depending on the test, you they're
sitting and watching you pee just like, like, I mean,
you have to you have to show, you know. I
think it's they're different with each guy.
Speaker 3 (01:52:24):
Yeah, it depends on if you've had Yeah, remember.
Speaker 1 (01:52:27):
Remember the Wizardator? Remember that uh Ontario Smith you had
that back in the day. You got go with the
fake one.
Speaker 3 (01:52:32):
Oil change the United States?
Speaker 1 (01:52:35):
What did you guys ever peek in the garden style
in school back in the day? Did you? No?
Speaker 3 (01:52:40):
Never?
Speaker 1 (01:52:40):
Never ever never ever. I had older brother, I was like,
pretty it was already back in elementary how we were
supposed to be.
Speaker 4 (01:52:48):
Like, yeah, my elementary school was really old and had
a spasis everywhere.
Speaker 3 (01:52:51):
So remember.
Speaker 1 (01:52:54):
My friends at my newer school, kindergarten, I'm like, bro,
pull your pants. Yeah, it's like, what is this bro?
Like fourth grade through the eight dog we we.
Speaker 4 (01:53:05):
Had the fucking our urinals were like the ones that
go all the way to the floor. Yeah, you know
those ones. It's like and like I was like, I
don't know. We would be aware. I was a kind
of rotund kid, so I would wear shorts you wear
at thirty thirty two inches as like a you know,
sixth grader, Like those pants go really low to your
knees and they go out far so like every time,
(01:53:25):
it was always like a challenge that the pists.
Speaker 1 (01:53:27):
On the bottom of my shorts because the journals on
the fucking floor.
Speaker 4 (01:53:32):
Can we update these journals they tore down, shut out? Oh,
oh my god, all right, last.
Speaker 3 (01:53:36):
Ques biohazard site.
Speaker 1 (01:53:38):
She's Louise.
Speaker 3 (01:53:40):
Oh the faucet exploded on me, wash man.
Speaker 1 (01:53:44):
It's not this is not dribble. Oh goodness, gracious, last one. Yeah,
you take which which one you like of these two?
Oh oh, then let's do the two, all right, Jules,
second to last one. Give us an NFL team that
might surprise them people this year. In your opinion, Minnesota,
(01:54:05):
I think Kyler Murray is gonna do well. They just
signed Jennings. You're gonna have three really good receivers, Kevin O'Connell,
b Flow. On the other side, I think they're gonna
be dangerous. It all depends on you know, this is
a great opportunity for Kyler Murray to be one of
those guys, the Sam Darnold, the Baker Mayfield, fresh start,
(01:54:26):
new ecosystem, kinda cornered animal mentality, like this is your shot.
You know, it's it's either gonna and so I and
I think Kyler he's short, but he can he can
make every throw. He throws the ball over a middle
for a smaller guy, and he has elite legs. It's
(01:54:47):
in a loop quickness, you know. And with Kevin O'Connell.
And I think Kyler is a smart guy. I know
there's all the shit on. He plays the video games,
he does his study, but I think he's genuinely like
one of those kids that gets bored with homework and
ship probably like back in the day, were like he was.
Probably it was probably pretty easy for me. He seems
(01:55:08):
like a smart kid. Yeah, you know, so he had
the luxury of playing video games because you know, I
don't know. I just think I think him justin Jefferson Addison,
Juan Jennings, who's our our t J who should Who's Hockinson?
(01:55:28):
And there just picked up Jennings. They have if they can,
they can get it going. That's their running back.
Speaker 3 (01:55:36):
Aaron Jones.
Speaker 1 (01:55:37):
Aaron Jones, he's getting there. He's you know, he's got
some he's got smiles, but he knows how to play.
They probably picked someone up. They picked someone up. Yeah.
And Jordan Mason, Jordan Mason has been pretty good Aaron Jones.
Speaker 3 (01:55:50):
Yeah, he's still there.
Speaker 1 (01:55:52):
Who did they pick up in the draft? Me see,
it's a hard division though, you know, but definitely getting harder.
They got a defensive tackle lot of Florida Caleb Banks
in the first round, a linebacker that since in the
second round defensive they went to defense heavy on the
first one. Let me see.
Speaker 3 (01:56:16):
They they they moved on from their GM this spring too,
so I'm sure there's a little bit.
Speaker 1 (01:56:20):
Of Juwan Jennings was the big one. Shirted up the
defense a little bit. Signed James Pierre there, Thomas Eric,
a lot of a lot on the defensive side of
the ball. Brought back Carson Wentz. Is there any offensive
lineman they drafted? Smith retired, Yeah, he had a great
shut Harrison Smith. I think on the a FC side,
(01:56:44):
I think the Chargers are super really with Mike mcdant.
I mean, I'm excited to see them too. You know,
they got to stay healthy.
Speaker 4 (01:56:56):
It's time they got to do it. They can't just
be the team of potentially. You gotta fucking at some point.
Speaker 1 (01:57:01):
It's year three hardball. This is gonna be a big year.
I think that he's gonna get it going. But like
they gotta stay healthy and run the ball with Hampton
this year too, got Hampton.
Speaker 3 (01:57:12):
They also have the heat naj Harris.
Speaker 1 (01:57:15):
Gotta stay healthy. That's a big thing. That's that's always,
that's always like the word that's a cliche too. I
know it's you, hey, you know if this, if if
we stay healthy, we'll be good. Well, look, let me
tell you something. You're not going to be healthy.
Speaker 3 (01:57:31):
You know.
Speaker 1 (01:57:32):
The teams that know how to build the depth, have
good role players. Those are the teams that usually keep
it going. But I think Minnesota, and I agree with Chargers,
they could be good, but I'm it's still they still
got like yeah, but I think I'm excited to see Minnesota.
I want to see Kyler kind of went seven and
(01:57:53):
oh year two with Cliff.
Speaker 4 (01:57:54):
I don't think it's fair to put him in the
Sam Donald conversation because Sam Donald was kind of a
bust before he got to Minnesota. Or Kyle Murray. I
don't think Kyler Murray, I don't think is a bust.
I just think it didn't work out in Arizona. But
he had like good.
Speaker 1 (01:58:06):
Seasons and he was great, and yeah, I think if
you look at Kyler Murray, I was here, and I
think he's got the same quarterback rating as Matt Stafford
since he's been in the league. You know, like he's
an efficient guy. He just has to stay healthy too.
I don't you know, I want to see them. I
think they're gonna be fun. One drafted a good running
(01:58:26):
back out of Wake too, Desmond Claiborne.
Speaker 3 (01:58:28):
There you go.
Speaker 4 (01:58:29):
That could be good for the backfield, all right, last one, Jack, Yeah,
laying on me. Will Tyreek Hill end up with the
Chiefs this season?
Speaker 1 (01:58:39):
I heard did he soft retire? That's what the rumors
are an inside starts told us. But some Chiefs insiders
are saying they think it's about a fifty five to
sixty percent Chancey ends up there.
Speaker 4 (01:58:51):
Yeah, because that's what like pretty like stocks you say
we've moved on from Tyreek Hill.
Speaker 1 (01:58:57):
He did say something along those lines, but you know
if Patrick yeah, yeah, but it's also like see in
training camp, Yeah, who who did the They brought a
receiver and they brought running back. They brought Kenneth Walker in.
Who did the Chiefs bring in? They drafted? So they
got Rashii Rice, Yeah, Jalen Royals, they got Cyrus Allen
(01:59:17):
Xavier worthy Taekwan Thornton, Chattie o'she is their coach over there. Wait,
he's what the Chiefs now he's a receiver coach. Oh shoot,
I didn't even realize that. I like what they're doing, though.
We'll see if Andy Reigan will stick to it. Andy,
they could use and they could use a little juice
in that wide receiver room. Andy loves to throw the ball.
Speaker 3 (01:59:42):
You know.
Speaker 1 (01:59:42):
But are they gonna zig while everyone's eggs? Are they
gonna go just running the football with Kenneth Walker Mahomes
is hurt, have coming back, you know, start him out slow. Yeah,
they drafted pretty heavy defensively. They lost a lot of guys,
I know, lost both their corners.
Speaker 3 (02:00:01):
To l a surprise. Chris Jones is still there. We'll
be right back after this quick break.
Speaker 1 (02:00:09):
I could see Tyreek if he does come back, like
people were saying he was like walking three days after
he got his dislocated knee. No, Tyreek, you know, So
the soft retirement.
Speaker 3 (02:00:20):
I don't know. I don't need it.
Speaker 1 (02:00:21):
I just didn't feel quite right.
Speaker 4 (02:00:22):
I could also just be like not wanting to go
to training camp. Yeah, veteran move could be also heard.
My homes is why you had a schedule.
Speaker 3 (02:00:30):
My story came out.
Speaker 1 (02:00:31):
I mean that if you expected that with Pat. But uh,
I'll see him next week at a golf golf tournament.
Will be this week, this week, it'll be this week.
Speaker 3 (02:00:44):
Or next week. Give that g you have you have
been back from it.
Speaker 1 (02:00:48):
I'll give him the GM.
Speaker 3 (02:00:49):
How great was it? I'll grab his leg.
Speaker 1 (02:00:52):
Those Justin fields got brought him in there. Yeah, that's
kind of crazy. But tyreek man, and he's a super freak.
He could come back from this agreed, And I mean
is still probably faster than and no offense to those guys,
but better than a lot of what they got in
(02:01:12):
that room. H don't mean to disparage they do. They
get a tight end. Didn't they get a tight end?
I think yeah, I think it's Travis Kelsey. No, they
had tried, but I think they drafted one too.
Speaker 3 (02:01:26):
They have uh Noah Gray, Jared Wiley, Jake bearing Stool
and Trey Watson. They didn't draft him.
Speaker 1 (02:01:35):
I don't tackle edge dB running back quarterback. All right, Well,
maybe it was way off. I need I need to
need one more drink for man, I'm tired after that
and thirsty. Oh my brain fog is gone. That's fully hydrated.
(02:01:56):
That's a great flavor. I've never really had that one.
