it was fun though. We did like the photo shooting.
We're staying at the table with like so many icons.
It was nuts. Really honored to be here. I think
skateboarding is going to be on a bigger stage with
women's sports now and more visible space.

I mean we've been here like less than twenty four
hours and like New York times, so everything's just kind
of a blur, and New York you don't sleep, so
I don't know, it's been great so far. I'm really
excited about tonight. We're gonna check out the WNBA Draft
with the whole crew and Alex, because you follow sports
so well, I'm sure you'll have a great take on
the upcoming draft.

Hey, I'm gonna need some luck with this because I'm
gonna be on my phone cramming for the test because
I don't actually follow sports very closely, but I'm interested
in sports. I'm sports curious.

It's a great place to be. I'll walk you through it.
I'll hold your hand. You know, it'll be fine. But
we're on the road, Like I said, so this is
gonna be a little bit of a mini episode. We're
gonna do a quick news desk. So much has happened
in women's skateboarding since even I last talk, and I
thought we could just run through what's been going on.

Yeah, last week's Street League Downtown Los Angeles takeover went down.
It was a best trick event on this massive twenty
stare with a rail and a hubba and then a
gap to rail there too. They had men's wild card,
they had a women's that went directly to the final.
A lot of amazing skaters going there. That was a
hefty course.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
Yeah, the twenty stare was like basically vertical and not
to mention like the footprint of the actual event was
really tiny and it was a sold out event in
the blazing heat of LA and it was packed in
like a fish bowl.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
I gotta say, like big shout out to Cloakavel who
took the win kickflip first try down a twenty stair
snapped it.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
That's insane, so good. I just want to say, I
tried to watch this event with everything in my power,
everything in my ability. Rumble. You need a subscription to
watch the women's part. You can watch all have a
men's part, then when it comes to the women's part,
you gotta pay. And I tried to use multiple credit cards.
I try to use my partner's credit card and it
would not let me have it. I called you to

tell the media code, the promo code put that in rejected.

Yeah, rumble, knew that you're a liberal. They could just
tell from your credit card or whatever. You just saw
your zip code and said, ah ah, no liberals want

the highlights. So I did see that incredible kickflip from
Chloe Cavel.

Yeah, and Daniella Tuol from Spain came in second place.
Feeble grinded down a twenty stair rail to take that
second place spot. Third place, Page Hinn switch fifty to
fifty er way into that top podium spot and then
big shout out to Shallock Gatory, perfect nose slide down
the ledge.

But speaking of Page nine, she's got big news too. Yeah,
Page Hine just announced to Rockstar first female announced two Rockstar.

As a skateboarder. Yeah, phish deal, joining Jiel Perkins. I
guess on the squad there too, But I mean that's
huge for Page Page kind of like leveling up and
getting that support that she deserves. She's got a video
profile up on the Platform, which is Rockstar's media site,
and it's the third highest feud on anything in their
entire site. Yeah, congrats, Page, congrats Page Yeah.

Super cool. Also in the news actions realized with Real Skateboards.
Haley Wilson has a board going to a really meaningful
organization called in Pieces. Real Skateboards these amazing releases that
are partnering with a nonprofit org. All the proceeds of
the sales go to that org. And Haley partnered with
in Pieces, an organization talking about mental health because skateboarders

we don't do a very good job talking about mental
health stuff. And I think there's one through line in skateboarding.
There's a lot of mental health things going on in skateboarding,
but real talk mental health is everywhere, affects everyone. I
was really proud to see Haley that this is such
a close thing for her and she's experienced those that
have died by suicide that she decided to have more

conversations around it and support this organization. So great work,
real great work, Haley in Pieces. Thank you for doing
the good work that you're doing.

Yeah, And I just got to be a shout out
to like any brands that do give backs like this too,
and any writers that you know the social justice aspect
of skateboarding and doing something to give back to the community.

I just love to see those kind of partnerships.

So yeah, again, big shout out to Real and shout
out to Haley for doing this. That's right, it's like
the littlest things that we can do, you know, too easy. Yeah,
the video part out for Momiitinichias Secure a cup, colorway
beautiful shoot, really nice earth tones. So when you know,
seaboarding brands do these releases, they'll do the product and
then they'll do a video part. And Momijinischia's video part
did not disappoint. Dude. It's one minute of pure perfection.

She is so good.

She's so good. I've never seen such a relaxed back
lip my entire life. Like it's down I don't know,
I didn't do the stair count, but watch the part.
Everyone's got a minute to spare. It's down a huge
set of stairs and this handra that she like casually
back lips is right up against this massive pillar that
she's literally maybe like six inches away from as she

lands and just like turns her head and just skates out.

Yeah, that was a beautiful ender to it. I gotta say,
the best, one of the best. I mean, I think
all of it was filled mostly in Melbourne too over
what seemed like a short period of time. She did
this line where she frontsid whent and eed up this
set of stairs and then going sofaz switch front si'd
heeled down it too, and it was just quick. It
was just one of the quick little parts in it.
But like the fact that Mumichinishia is switch front side
heel flipping down sets of stairs in lines like that's

just She's just next level. Her technical skateboarding ability is
growing and growing and well deserved. Colorway on Adidas for
the Tekura Cup.

I just don't know how she shows up in the competition,
takes the podium I was always on the podium, and
throws down these heavy parts in the streets like I
don't get it. You're we must study you.

Mumiji is an Olympic gold medallist, multiple time podium winner
on street League, she has never won a street league. Omigii,
she has never won a street league.

there's a really I mean, I know that there's a
really great skate scene in Warsaw, and there's been girls
crews coming out of Warsaw.

Crew, but they dropped a video part for the Exposure
Online event that we had back in twenty twenty one.
I think, and it's really cool. There's a really great
women's skateboarding scene in Warsaw, and our new little Polish
mite is is ripping.

And the crew out there that you just mentioned hit
us up. Also on Converse. I mean, what a gift
Alexis Sabloni is to skateboarding into the world at large
in general. I don't know if you caught the sneeze
mag Drop. She did a sneeze, did a collaboration with Converse,

using her shoe the as one pro pack so out
in white patent leather and then a Duffel bag as well.
But of course Alexis went above and beyond, and the
assignment was to like have her make a bench, and
so she decided to make the most insane sculptural skatable
chair that on its own should be in MoMA, and

then she tig welded it. So for all of my
welder heads out there, MiG welding's where you kind of learn.
It's really basic. Tig welding is where you show up
in like, say, I'm a welder, and somehow she just
decided to be like, I've never done this before, I'm
gonna do it the hardest way possible. I'm this gorgeous
round volumptuous modernism chair and I'm gonna skate it, and

I'm gonna have Matt Price take the sickest photo ever
of it. What can't she do?

I just love the way Alexis the Blown bites off
more than she can chew and then choose it up
and spits it out anyway, like coming up with a
project like that too, and deciding that that's what you're
gonna do for this. I remember when she mentioned it too,
She's like, oh, I want to make a bench. She
was like ide eating on it too, and then like
a million sleepless nights later, she's like created this art
piece and now is obsessed with welding.

Yeah, and boring to Mimi noop, she was like, take
welding the chair while talking to Mimi on the phone. Yeah,

And then we did like the photo shoot part and
we were just like acting so disorderly the whole time.

that make these shows happen and meet them face space
and just be in the mix like this too. It's

in the Olympics too. It was great, It's really cool.

They're like, who are you so? Yeah, today we let
you who let me in is beyond I don't know.
And then we did like the photo shoot part and
we were just like acting so disorderly the whole time.
It was beautiful. I loved every moment of that part.

iHeart women's sports staff and the people behind the scenes
that make these shows happen and meet them face space
and just be in the mix like this too. It's
such an honor and a blessed and I'm really happy

a lot to learn from each other and as skateboarding.
