Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey, it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
I have put together some of my favorite radio moments
here to share with you on our daily podcast. Are
you celebrating an anniversary of sorts this week? Is there
something special going on in your life tonight or tomorrow?
(00:28):
Maybe an anniversary of falling in love. Maybe it's your
wedding anniversary. Maybe it's your first kiss anniversary. If there
is an anniversary or an event that you are celebrating
and you want to let someone know how vivid those
(00:52):
memories are, how precious those memories are. That you can
still smell the air, you can still feel the touch
of their skin, you can still relive those emotions.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
Call me and tell me. Hi, Welcome to the Delilah Show.
Who's this?
Speaker 3 (01:11):
This is Mike and I have a bride of forty
four years that I'd like to share with you.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Mike, what's your bride's name?
Speaker 3 (01:17):
Crudy t r U d I.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Happy anniversary, Happy anniversary, Happy anniversary, Happy universary, forty four years.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
Good for you.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
Well, I have a story to tell you, and I'll
try to abbreviate it as best I can and still
give you the full effect. I believe it was around
our eleven through twelfth anniversary. I surprised my wife by
coming home one day and plotting as it were, and
faking that I was angry, and we took off in
the car because that was the way I relieved my
(01:47):
anger was to drive, and we took off up doric
As Island. Well after we got there, of course, we
went around sight seeing and I wrote the truck down
so that it wouldn't get back to the ferry before
the last So we ended up staying the night on
the island, and of course we had to find a
place to stay, and Captain Cook's resort was still there then,
(02:09):
and we ended up staying there and walking into the
cabin which I had already paid for and I had
already reserved, and long beholders a big bouquet of flowers
sitting over on the table, and she says, look, they
left to some flowers, and I says, yeah, why don't
you go look at the card? And as soon as
she looked at the card, she looked at me and
(02:30):
she started bone because she knew she ben had.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
So you planned this whole thing out, and she had
no idea exactly.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
You plotted and planned and surprised her.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Sure did and loved every minute of it.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
And now it's been forty four years. What are you
going to do this year?
Speaker 3 (02:49):
We eloped so at their fortieth anniversary I had an
entirely official wedding plan for her in putting a white
wedding dress everything.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
Aren't you the romantic guy I try to be.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
She didn't get much when she got me, so I
have to make up for somewhere.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
You are so romantic?
Speaker 3 (03:11):
Well, thank you, all.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Right, let me find something sweet for you and Trudy. Congratulations,
all right, God bless you.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
Bye bye, bye bye.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
Hello, you've called Delilah. Who is this?
Speaker 4 (03:29):
Stacey?
Speaker 3 (03:30):
Hi?
Speaker 1 (03:31):
Stacy? How are you this evening?
Speaker 5 (03:33):
I'm good sitting outside of a dance studio getting ready
to go in and dance.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Good for you?
Speaker 2 (03:39):
What kind of dance? Modern jazz, tap, ballet, zoomba?
Speaker 1 (03:43):
What do you do?
Speaker 3 (03:44):
Zoomba?
Speaker 1 (03:45):
Zoomba? You go? Girlfriend?
Speaker 2 (03:49):
I went to a zooma class one time and they
were moving parts I didn't even know could move yup.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
I was like, how do you do that?
Speaker 3 (04:00):
So?
Speaker 1 (04:00):
Are you a teacher? Or you just take the class
for fun?
Speaker 5 (04:03):
Just take the class for fun, for fun.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
And great exercise.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Yes, and what song can I play for you while
you're waiting to zoomba?
Speaker 5 (04:13):
I actually want to dedicate a song to my boyfriend
of three years. Our anniversaries coming up, and I was
just sitting here thinking how he makes me fall in
love with him every day.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
So what's his name?
Speaker 5 (04:25):
Anthony?
Speaker 1 (04:27):
So what does Anthony do?
Speaker 2 (04:28):
Or what is it about Anthony's character that hows you
falling in love over and over and over again.
Speaker 5 (04:35):
He just makes me laugh every single time I talk
to him, and he just does cute things to make.
Speaker 6 (04:41):
Me fall in love with him.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
So how old are you?
Speaker 5 (04:44):
I'm twenty one.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
And you've been together three years. You made it through
the teenage years?
Speaker 5 (04:50):
Yep?
Speaker 1 (04:50):
Wow? Do you think this is the one?
Speaker 5 (04:53):
I think he is the one.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Do you think he thinks you're the one?
Speaker 3 (04:57):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (04:57):
We're looking at houses soon.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
So oh, he definitely thinks you are the one.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
You just fit together perfectly. Yeah, all right, I will
find a fit together perfectly. Sweet love song for you
and Anthony. Have fun at your dance class and have
a happy anniversary.
Speaker 4 (05:14):
Thank you so much, all right, by bye.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
Hun.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
Chris, Thank you for your patience. This is Delilah.
Speaker 7 (05:30):
I have a dedication for my wife. I've known her
for probably twenty five years. We knew each other all
through high school. Out of the cleure blue. I hadn't
seen her in probably fifteen years, and she called me
to fix her windows.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
Now, why would she call you to fix her windows?
Are you a window repair man?
Speaker 7 (05:46):
Or she just thought of a handyman. I'm just an
all around handyman. I kind of do it all. I
came down and I looked at her windows and told
her I could fix them. It was all there together
ever since we've been.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Together, the broken windows or more.
Speaker 7 (06:04):
Well, I told her I could fix your windows, and
I invited her to my house for dinner one night
with our kids. She came to dinner, and then I
invited her to help decorate the tree for Christmas and
all this she came and it was it.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
Was heaven just between you and me. Chris. Did you
go smash in a few windows just so she'd ask
you back?
Speaker 5 (06:28):
You know what?
Speaker 2 (06:28):
No?
Speaker 7 (06:28):
I didn't, But if I could have, I would have.
If it crossed with it, I would have.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
Did you say?
Speaker 2 (06:36):
Oh, by the way, I also know how to fix
washing machines, and yours is looking pretty broke these days.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
Yes, and that door is.
Speaker 7 (06:43):
This woman is the light of my life. I would
do anything for her. I'd climbed the highest mountain. I
would swim across the Atlantic Ocean for this woman. Today
is our first year anniversary.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
So Chris, what are you doing for your anniversary? You
work in you know, like on the windows or on
something else.
Speaker 7 (07:02):
No, actually, we're just kind of hanging out. We got
six kids.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
Between us, so you're not doing much of anything for
your anniversars.
Speaker 7 (07:11):
We're just kind of hanging out with the kids. But
you know what, I would not have it any other way.
My kids are my life and she is my life,
and I would have it no other way.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
Mary Anne, what can I do for you?
Speaker 6 (07:30):
As I'm starting to talk, I'm going to start crying,
but it's a happy cry. My husband and I he's
actually here with me and we're married forty two years tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
Oh my, he's my.
Speaker 6 (07:46):
Night and shining armor. And it's been you know, the
way life is up and down. You got to take
the good with the bad. But you know again, those
vows are so important. I always believed, and so did
my husband, Ken believe that you just get through it.
(08:06):
You know, and I always say if he can think
of me all the time, and I think of him
all the time. And he's not number one and I'm
not number one, but God is number one in our life.
And then we come that things will work out no
matter what. And I just feel like we're always like
(08:27):
young at heart and it's been a wonderful forty two years.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
I'm going to play a song for you, God bless you.
Speaker 6 (08:35):
Ten says good night.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
Good night, God bless Rachel.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
Hi, welcome. What can I do for you?
Speaker 3 (08:47):
Hi?
Speaker 5 (08:48):
I love.
Speaker 4 (08:48):
First of all, I wanted to tell you that I
love your show. It's very inspiring and because of all
the people that call in, I just wanted to tell
you a little bit about my husband. My husband's name
is Alex. I've known him for a little bit more
than ten years. We started out as friends, we went
out for three years after that, and then we got
(09:10):
married and yesterday was our first year anniversary. And I
just wanted to tell you that he has been so
good to me because I usually all my life, through
junior high through high school, I never thought it was
actually a pretty woman, you know, a pretty in a
way that somebody might actually like me. Or be interested
in me, and then he came to my life, and
(09:31):
every time he looks at me, it's like I actually
feel like the prettiest woman on earth.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
So why was your self esteem so long?
Speaker 6 (09:40):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
I guess because I was short. I had a lot
of fret goals, and I don't know. I was just
like a plain girl, very plain and simple, and I
never thought my friends were like all pretty and skinny,
and I never thought that somebody who could look at
me in the way that he looks at me every day.
And I just love him so much for that, because
he makes me feel so special every day And it's
(10:04):
been a wonderful year now that we've gotten married. We've
gotten married like I was twenty seven, he was twenty eight,
so it was just the perfect timing for both, and
he has been so caring and so loving, and I
just love him so much. Tonight, I wanted to share
that with you because I know that you have some
great songs, and I wanted to see if you could
play a song for him tonight.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
I will.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
Rachel, Congratulations, I'm glad you found somebody who sees all
your beauty and tells you that.
Speaker 4 (10:32):
Thank you I appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
You have a good night, you too.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
I so hope you have enjoyed these radio moments as
much as I enjoy bringing them to you.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
I'll share more with you each weekday on Hey It's Delilah.
