Speaker 1 (00:10):
Hey, the folks, it is Saturday, March twenty first, and
Mercury is no longer in retrograde. I have no idea
what that means, but I'm told it means life is
about to get better for all of us. And with that,
welcome to this episode of Amy and TJ. Every time
something's gone wrong in the past three months, I don't
(00:31):
even know. Ye, Mercury is in retrograde. What does that mean?
Speaker 2 (00:34):
It was past three weeks? But yes, it was just
three weeks.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Yes, my life feels like I'm always sorry.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
Every week with me, it feels like a month. Apparently, Yes,
Mercury is out of retrograde. I literally woke up saw
that got so excited, and you looked at me and said,
what the hell does that mean?
Speaker 1 (00:52):
Okay, generally speaking, the audience that's listening right now, they
know what it means when they say mercury is in
or out of retrograde.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Predominant listener here is a woman of a certain age.
She probably knows what that means, and probably has said
when things have gone wrong, when chaos has ensued, when
technology isn't working, when communication falls apart, we say, of course,
mercury is in retrograde, and it's been in retrograde since
(01:22):
February twenty sixth.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
Wait, you said women of a certain age. What age,
doll we talk about?
Speaker 2 (01:26):
I feel like women my age, younger, a little bit older, but.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
Yeah, a little bit young, a little bit older. Not
like every woman. Then who are we talking about?
Speaker 2 (01:33):
Well, maybe like my mom's age. She might loize at that, like,
oh you silly, woo woo people.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
You and younger. This is a younger ride.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
Yeah, I think it would probably be anyone who's like
in their fifties and below. Would probably anyone who likes
to check their horoscope just for the fun of it. Look,
the reality is, I don't know, but I do like
to try and imagine or keep it possible that the
way our our solar system works, the way our planets
(02:02):
are aligned, the way our ocean tides, it's all connected.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
That's what this was talking about.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Yes, this is so. Actually, this is interesting. I did
some research, because the truth is I didn't really know.
I started looking it up. So here is the deal. Mercury,
as I pointed out, was in retrograde from February twenty
sixth through March thirtieth. Had the last three weeks of
your life felt a little extra chaotic, like technology wasn't working.
Maybe if you were traveling, things got disturbed. I mean,
(02:30):
look what's happening at the TSA. I know we can say, yes,
the government's in shutdown, but it has interestingly coincided with retrograde.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
I don't get what we're talking. I still, as I
sit here with you, I don't know what that means. Okay, okay,
we talking about the planet. Yes, Mercury is in retrograde.
What does that mean?
Speaker 2 (02:50):
Okay, they're okay. So from an astrological standpoint, the planet
Mercury actually slows down. Mercury normally moves faster than Earth
around the Sun, but when Mercury is in retrograde, it's
moving slower than the Earth around the Sun. So mercury,
this is what it says when I look this up.
(03:11):
Mercury moves eighty eight days around the Sun versus three
hundred and sixty five days that the Earth does to
rotate the Sun. But it creates this optical illusion in
certain periods where it looks like Mercury is moving backwards,
like visually it looks like that. And so the understanding
from folks who follow astrology is that the planet Mercury
(03:34):
rules communication, travel, news, information, gossip, and technology. Who astrologists, okay,
gotchall right, And so when we're in retro when Mercury
is in retrograde, that means we can expect this is
what they say, meltdowns, false gossip, miscommunications, technology, failures, issue
(03:57):
in travel, missed connections and delays, and hearing hurting in information. Basically,
it gets all muddied. Someone described it like this, Making
a major decision during this time when Mercury is in
retrograde is like reading a map underwater.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
Hmm uh what alarmist gave us that quote? No, I'm kidding.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
I thought that was a good way to describe how
people would explain. Who believe in this stuff? What is
happening when Mercury is in retrogra I.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
Got questions if you all haven't noticed yet, robes completely say, Hey,
this is gonna be fun. Because she says it all
the time. I have no idea what she's talking about.
This is the first time I actually asked questions about it.
Here is a question I have. How often is it
in retrograde that it slows down?
Speaker 2 (04:41):
It depends on the year. This year we have three periods,
three retrograde. Yeah, we just got out of one. This
was the first retrograde period of the year. And by
the way, it was supposed to be an extra bad one.
Now I don't really fully understand this, but apparently we
were in a bunch of eclipses and actually we're on
(05:01):
some axis of Leo Aquarius, which is you and me.
So it actually affected people these last three weeks more
than it usually does because of all sorts of other
things that are going on.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
Galactic Okay, so you get a couple, you could get
a couple to a few times a year this happens.
Does it happen at least once every year?
Speaker 2 (05:20):
Oh? Yes, yes, Oh I didn't know that. Yes, and
so and by the way, astrologically speaking, happy New Year.
This is literally the start of the new zodiac cycle.
It is when the sun leaves Pisces and enters Aries.
Aries is the first sign of the zodiac. So that
means in the next coming weeks we are going to
(05:40):
be moving, We're going to be taking initiative, We're going
to be experimenting. Someone said, take the risk, send the email,
start the relationship. Everything is starting anew and this is
going to be an active, exciting period.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
That the new year thing is separate from the mercury
in retrograde.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
Well, it's all connected, Chris, it's all connected.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Wait, so you're telling me today is a great time
and a renewal with Again you keep saying astrologically speaking, yes,
but at the same time you're saying, this is a
crappy time because mercury is in retrograd.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
No, it just ended.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
I thought you gave me a date range.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
It ended March twentieth. Today is the start of the
new astrological years. So now, yes, they're calling it retro
shade until April ninths. We're in a little bit of
a murky area. We're getting out of retrograde and we're
moving into a bright, sunny, amazing period. So from now
until April ninth it'll be a little a transition. So
(06:36):
they're telling astrologists, tell folks to clink. We're just cheersing
each other because we're drinking a mimosa right now, delicious.
They're saying, you can now reflect back on these last
three weeks, see what you learned, and then start anew
So these last three weeks, would you say, because I
(06:56):
can tell you there have been some difficult technology issue
use in the last couple of.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
Weeks, I would say yes that I would not. Okay, fine,
if I'm going to be a little bit of a doubter,
you also know I have in the past month taken
on more challenges when it comes to technology. I am
doing more when it comes to technology. So maybe it
was just a bad time.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
Probably should have waited until today.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
But yeah, so I don't know if anything's necessarily broken down.
But okay, we.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
Don't know for sure, but I there have been a
couple of days I was actually thinking.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
Of it a bunch of days.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
Oh yes, okay. So here's what we can expect in
this new phase, clarity and movement. They say, conversations will
start to make more sense. Projects you've been thinking about
are going to start moving forward now. So I think
that's pretty cool. They say that misunderstandings, if you have
any in your life, are beginning to clear, and if
if you are worth waiting to sign a contract or
(07:54):
make a big decision, now is the time, because this
is now where we're going to have fresh energy and
new action, and so this is the time to make
your life happen. They talk about relationships like that. If
you were waiting to make a move, now is the time.
This is a time of rebirth and renewal.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
What what dame I have? I had a question? Sorry,
you you've said so much that called me to one ask. Oh, yeah,
the retro shade you say, we're still in a weird time.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
Period for Yeah, so they call this retro shade, meaning
it basically while the planets are realigning or doing their thing,
we are now in a transition. So we're moving out
of retrograde. We're out of it, and we're moving into
this new action oriented phase.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
We're not there fully, this is our transition.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
Yeah, we're transitioning. April ninth is when we're fully, fully,
fully ready to go. So if you want to have
a date where you're going to make a decision, maybe
pick April ninth.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
Okay, so right now it's still the little dice.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
Well, just be aware this is the time of transition.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
And reflection, not full steam.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
Okay, all right, So now that you on understand what
retrograde was, out of it, all right, when we come back,
we're going to tell you where the two more periods
are going to be a retrograde so you can prepare yourself,
and some tips on how to handle mercury in retrograde
(09:18):
when it comes back. And welcome back everyone to this
episode of Amy and TJ where we are celebrating the
astrological new Year and celebrating that we're finally out of
(09:40):
mercury in retrograde. I have to tell you, every time
you missed the subway train, your flight gets de late.
I mean there have been It's funny, there have been
a lot. My daughters have called me with issues and problems.
I will google it like, yep, mercury is in retrograde,
and then you roll your eye at me. I wonder
(10:01):
how many people believe in this stuff.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
I don't know. I think we've given folks sometimes an
easy excuse. You could say, oh my god, missed the train,
or you could say, maybe should have left the house
ten minutes earlier and you could have got to the
platform more time. Who knows, But.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
Then something else would have happened because mercury's and retrogra
delayed you further.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
It's become one of those annoying things. Almost like six
even like I just had to hear mercury and retrograde.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
And your skin starts to cray.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
It's that thing.
Speaker 2 (10:30):
Now. Look, I really like all jokes aside. I do
check out my horoscope at least a couple of times
a week, and I do think that, look don't. I
don't map my life out based on it, but I
do think it's something to consider that we all are connected,
the Earth, the other planet's space, all of that. We
(10:51):
don't know what the connection is between energy and what's
happening and the reverberations of all of it. I think
it's entirely possible we're all connected so in this way,
and maybe this is a way of having things make
more sense. I believe in angel numbers and signs, but
I'm just one of those folks and not everybody agrees
(11:12):
with me.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
That's fine to have a guide, it's fine, and it's
fun quite frankly, Folks don't know we every single morning
when we used to anchor a show together at GM three,
we would look at our horoscopes every single morning, and
it would determine what kind of day we're going to have.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
Work together them to each other. It was very fun.
We had a blast with it. So just in preparation
now that we're out of the first mercury and retrogade.
Just prepare yourself for the second one when you're trying
to figure out when to travel. This is gonna be
a big one. June twenty ninth to July twenty third
is the next mercury and retrograde. And actually, Babe, I
(11:51):
think we are back from all of our travels. We
are actually chilling during.
Speaker 1 (11:55):
That time we're on the ground.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
Yeah, let's just that's actually worked out really well for us.
We didn't plan that. And then the third mercury in
retrograde this year is October twenty fourth to November thirteenth,
So just keep those dates in mind. I actually do
appreciate preparing for it. So what do the astrological experts
say you should do when mercury is in retrograde. First
(12:19):
of all, recognize that it's happening. They say, just this
is a time to take a breath and to move
at a slower pace. It's actually, they say, the universe's
reminder to you to slow down, that you can't always
be at full speed. Things aren't always going to be
action action, action. This is a moment to actually take
a beat, take a breath, and reflect. They say to
(12:40):
use this time to heal and transform old relationships and friendships.
So instead of looking at as a bad thing, look
at as a time of reflection and a way of
just reassessing where you are in your relationships in your life,
and if you're fighting with people, try to go and
see it from their perspective. These are good moments to
(13:01):
take well. I think tips we could use throughout the year.
But have a focus where things seem to be going
wrong and use it to your advantage. They see, Okay,
the keyword is patience.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
Do you notice, certainly not us in particular are really
our inner inner circle, but do you have friends and
people on kind of our periphery? Have you noticed more
conflict within friend zones of either analyst or a of
us and be oh my gosh, wow, shit, Now I
think about it.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
I was waiting for you to recognize because when I
was reading about all of this, I was going back
to remembering the conversations that you and I have had
with both of our daughters about major conflict that has
been happening with them for the last few weeks.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
I kid you, not new stuff like some new stuff,
new unexpected stuff, not petty stuff like we're worried about
that style. But it's kids, it's girls in particular. They
go through this.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
It's going to turn around starting today, okay, and then
we'll have another another period of it. But that is true.
You're not even just saying that to humor me or
to humor the audience.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
Oh just hit me.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
Really is true.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
We have had serious conversations because I've leaned on you
because you your girls not too terribly long ago went
through this twelve thirteen, fourteen, These girls or these relationships,
it started to get complicated. I've come to you plenty
in the past few weeks more so thank hey, yo,
what am I supposed to do with it? This is normal?
Speaker 2 (14:21):
And my nineteen year old is going through it too,
significantly over the past couple of weeks. So I mean,
it doesn't ever really end. I will say maybe now
in my fifties, because my friend group has gotten so
much smaller. There is nothing but peace these days, and
there's just been a lot of perspective and a lot
of patients and a lot of periods of mercury being
in retrograde for me relationship wise, where I think you
(14:44):
do graduate to a place where you can look at
it as a time of reassessment. You can look at
as a time of patience and calm because you recognize
what the planets are telling us. Look, people have all
sorts of different ways how they interpret what's happening, why
something's happening, and maybe how you can navigate better during
(15:05):
certain times. For me, this is something that's fun, something
that could possibly be real. Why not go ahead and
read the tea leaves and do everything you can to
try and manage where we are in the world, And
most of it, pretty much all of it, we can't
control anyway. We can only control how we react to it.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
I don't mind it at all. And no, it is
not to be offensive to anybody when it comes to religion.
But there are some people who have faith in some
who don't. And what is faith is the evidence of
things unseen. Right, You just you believe, And people have
horoscopes and they look to the stars. There's no evidence
of that anymore than there's evidence of you could argue
(15:50):
some spiritual leanings or religious leanings. What I'm saying is
religion gives a comfort to people to think that there's
something else in the world, something can lean on, something
that comfort me in this difficult time, something a higher
power I can look to and lean on. Ro That's
what kind of all of this is. And I'm okay
with anybody who says they are one hundred percent belief
(16:12):
in horoscopes, just like I was. Any faith out there,
knock yourself.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
Out, and I actually would say the two aren't counter
to one another. You can actually have tremendous faith, religious, spiritual, whatever,
and also have a belief in the universe and in
what maybe we can learn from the stars and the
planets and those people who choose to actually follow that
stuff and know a lot more than we do. You
(16:36):
want to hear your horoscope for the day. This is
the one we always looked at when we were at
GMA Daily News. We used to always look at the
daily News horoscope.
Speaker 1 (16:42):
I have one for you too, I pulled up because
it's hilarious. Okay, it's hilarious.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
All right, here's your LEO for today. Yes, Gus, personal
sharing will be easier when everyone involved feels calm and safe.
Mars forms a flowing trine with Jupiter invigorating your eighth
House of Intimacy and your twelve House of secrets. Trust
can blossom today, but you must give it a chance
to do so. You could schedule a budget check with
(17:07):
a trusted peer, or you can discuss other sensitive topics.
Do your best to release past fears before you speak
in order to have a more productive discussion. When possible,
choose transparency over guess work.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
I have no idea what to do with that. That's
that's a lot. That's a load, as we would say,
that's a lot done back? What am I supposed to do?
Speaker 2 (17:30):
That can actually be vulnerable today, vulable every day today,
day feel trust that is flowing between you and your partner.
Speaker 1 (17:40):
That last one might be a problem. I'm kidding, I
can hear you. I'm just joking. Do you weire? Is
yours in there? Because that one? That one's weighty?
Speaker 2 (17:47):
Okay, did you have a fun I see.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
Gonna all right?
Speaker 2 (17:51):
Mine says money matters will probably be at the forefront
of your mind today. Combative Mars finds ease in a trine.
What is this? Trying stuff to lucky Jupiter? Focusing on
your second house of salaries and your six pousive effort,
which thankfully should make budgeting less stressful. I don't like
the money ones they're so boring confusing telling me to
set a spend a simple limit for categories. Take a
(18:14):
look at my receipts to keep my spending consistent. Please,
I'm fine.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
That yours are too high brow for me. Yeah, I
like fortune cookie type.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
You know what, Give me a fortune cookie one that's
way better.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
Here you go. It is related to money. Here is
aries Uh no, wait at the boom at the bottom
of Wait there she is. Respect your money making ideas
today because you might be onto something. Whatever you do
today will improve your assets and wealth and possibly help
others as well. You've always wanted to make the world
(18:46):
a better place. Well think about that.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
Okay, what's yours? Leo?
Speaker 1 (18:49):
It went? And if it would kind of been companion
to or flew in the face of that one? Leo,
your high viz today. People admire you and they want
to hear what you have to say, especially about financial
matters related to shared property inherent's wow, inheritances, will's debt,
(19:11):
and taxas. People can see that this is not your
first rodeo and they want your advice.
Speaker 2 (19:16):
Wow, I guess I should turn to you before making
any financial decision because.
Speaker 1 (19:19):
It's all well, I would hope you do that anyway,
as you know the family that we now are.
Speaker 2 (19:25):
All right, everybody time to celebrate, happy New Year. Go
dive into that relationship and have that conversation you were
putting off because mercury was in retrograde. Now y'all are
going to understand each other. You're going to be excited
for one another, You're going to be vulnerable to one another.
Everything is going to be beautiful from here all the
(19:45):
way until what was it June June twenty sixth or
something like that.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
You were leaving us on a high and then you
brought us back down.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
All right by joy today and the weeks and months
that follow And with that, everyone, thank you for george
us on this Saturday. We always appreciate you. On maybe
Roeboch alongside T. J. Holmes. We'll talk to you soon.
