Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is your twenty four to seven use update the
latest use this hour in just four minutes. Operation Epic
Fury is intensifying as Iran targets US embassies in the region.
In a post on truth Social President Trump said, now
that the country's air defense, air Force, Navy and leadership
are gone, they want to talk, but it's too late.

(00:20):
It comes as six US service members have been killed
in the fighting. Iran has retaliated with strikes against American
embassies in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, and the President says
the US has virtually unlimited munitions to engage in conflicts forever.
In another post on truth Social, Trump said the US
munitions stockpiles have never been higher or better. Meantime, Democrats
are expected soon to try and halt President Trump from

(00:42):
using further military action against Iran without congressional approval. At
least one Democrat, Senator John Fetterman and Pennsylvania, says he'll
be a no if the War Powers Act comes up
for a vote because Operation Epic Fury was needed.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Why can't we just acknowledge that was a good thing
and that the world's better now and more safe after.
For what's happened, So if that requires me, as a
Democrat to just condemn those kinds.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Of things, Fetterman speculated that many Democrats are going against
the operation simply because they disliked Trump. The War Powers
Act is a nineteen seventy three Vietnam War era resolution
meant to check the president's power to enter armed conflict
without consent from the legislative branch. A vote could come
by Thursday, though it seemed largely as symbolic because even
if it's passed, Trump said he will likely veto it.

(01:24):
Stocks are cratering on Wall Street as the conflict in
the Middle East rages on. The Dow Jones Industrial Average
has been down over twelve hundred points at times today,
the S and P five hundred has been down over
two percent, and the Nasdaq has been over five hundred
points lower at times. The father of a Georgia high
school shooting suspect has been found guilty on all counts
for contributing to the alleged actions of his son. Colin

(01:45):
Gray was charged with second degree murder after his teenage
son allegedly shot eleven people and killed four at Apalachi
High School in twenty twenty four. In the city of
winder Prosecutor say Grace applied the murder weapon even though
there were signs that his son would inflict harm with
it is and awaits trial. Gray is only the second
parent charged after a child was involved in a school shooting.
I'm Chris Krasi. The first primaries of the mid term

(02:08):
elections are set for today in Texas, North Carolina, and Arkansas.
They're all worth keeping an eye on, as the twenty
twenty six midterms could shift the balance of power and
bolt the House and Senate. Four adult siblings are suing
the estate of Michael Jackson, claiming they were victims of
sex trafficking. The lawsuit in Los Angeles Federal court accuses
the late singer of abusing them when they were children.
They claim some of the abuse happened in the homes

(02:30):
of Elizabeth Taylor and Elton john. The siblings are Edward Dominic,
Marie Nicole, and Aldo Cassio. They claim Jackson groomed and
brainwashed them with his wealth and fame. Marty Singer, an
attorney for the Jackson estate, called the lawsuit a desperate
money grab. Losing an hour of sleep Saturday night will
be hard on everybody, but it's especially tough on kids.
Monica Nelson reports.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
Kids sometimes don't understand why we spring forward for daylight
saving time, nor are the importance of sleep on developing brains.
Kuys are permanent. A pediatrician, doctor Lisa de Naik, suggests
parents help kids adjust by sticking to a bedtime routine.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Avoiding screen time an hour or two before bedtime can
be really helpful too, because the light that comes out
of the screens really mimics the blue light that tells
our brain that it's daytime, and so our melatonin production
goes down, and melatonin is our sleep hormone that our
brain makes.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
She also suggests starting to adjust bedtimes now, shifting just
ten to fifteen minutes every few nights to help kids
prepare for Saturday. I'm Monica Nelson.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
The Mega Millions jackpot stands at four hundred and seventy
three million dollars ahead of tonight's big drawing. The cash
option on that works out to just shive two hundred
and twenty two million. Odds of winning the grand prize
are roughly one in two hundred and ninety million. A
crew member for the reality TV showed Deadliest Catch has
died while fishing off the coast of Alaska. Captain Rick
Shelford of The Illusion Lady announced yesterday that twenty five

(03:49):
year old Todd Meadows died during filming last week. Meadows
was working as a deckhand for The Allusion Lady and
was filming his first season as the newest member of
the Deadliest Catch crew. Details not yet been released on
how he died. I'm Chris Karraggio.
