Speaker 1 (00:36):
They just released their first EP, color Outside the Lines.
That EP began with a single question what you want?
Over two years, the members wrote more than three hundred songs,
challenging themselves relentlessly in search of the answers, and from
this introspective journey, they carefully selected five tracks that best

(00:59):
express who they are. I can't wait to bring him
out to you guys, presenting Martin James, Juhun San Jan.

All right, you.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Guys ready for Have you ever been this close to Cordis?

Speaker 4 (02:27):
I don't think so?

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Right, all right, First of all, I think she's a fan.

Speaker 4 (02:35):
I think I think she's a fan.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Guys, welcome to iHeart Radio. Yeah, huge, congrats, massive debut.
It's been a long journey from all that introspection. Now
three hundred songs and only five songs made the cut.
What what stood out with those five songs? Why did
they make the cut?

Speaker 10 (02:56):
I think these five songs are what explains us, and
these five songs really represent us in a very authentic way.
It's stripped down, it's very simple, but at the same time,
it's very honest.

Speaker 8 (03:12):
So that's our focus.

Speaker 10 (03:14):
And this album is just authenticity, rawness and how we
share our story.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
Yeah, I mean yes, sir.

Speaker 6 (03:22):
I feel like it's a true reflection of like who
we are at the moment and like twenty twenty four summer,
like when we were in La and so working on
the album. I feel like our lifestyle is really just
in the album, and it's like a diary.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
It's like a journal.

Speaker 8 (03:38):
We really just like treated it like that.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
So it begs the question, what happened to the other
two hundred and ninety five?

Speaker 4 (03:46):
Are we going to hear any of those songs archive?

Speaker 8 (03:49):
Archive?

Speaker 4 (03:52):
We never know, Yeah, you never.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
Know, but hey, authenticity is important to you guys. What
makes these songs so authentic? That's the key for any
artist really, certainly for you guys.

Speaker 10 (04:05):
I think we take inspiration from our daily lives. Yeah, yes,
and so from little things of just us fooling around
and playing around and making jokes, and I think that
makes it more like fun and right.

Speaker 7 (04:20):
Yes. For example, like the song fashion, like we.

Speaker 10 (04:24):
Wrote show Show.

Speaker 6 (04:29):
So the day we made Fashion, we actually went to
Fairfax in LA and we were and we bought some
clothes there, and like the in the session producers said, like,
you guys are kind of dreaped up today, you guys
look different. Yeah, we had to say about this fashion.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
We had to talk about it.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Are you guys constantly like twenty four to seven writing.

Speaker 11 (04:53):
I mean, I mean, yeah, we are writing songs, but
not just writing. We take videos, take photos and like
Mike bits choreography yo and everything. You know.

Speaker 8 (05:09):
We just love to do arts.

Speaker 6 (05:11):
Yeah you know, yeah, yeah, And we're always always in
the studio twenty four to seven, so like not twenty
four seven, but like every day we're in the studio
working on something and or trying to cultivate our skills.
And I feel like we really like to note stuff down,
like just for just in case. You know, you don't
know when you'll have like a great idea and then

(05:32):
you'll just like you know, take it out of your
pocket and just like you know, make it into a
music video or like something.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
It's crazy if I have an idea and if I
don't write it down, I think I'll remember it, but
I won't.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
Yeah, you just gotta yes, definitely, that's why.

Speaker 7 (05:49):
That's why write up here.

Speaker 10 (05:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
Right, Hey, you guys have been called and we talked
about this earlier. You've been called a Young Creator Crew
as opposed to a traditional group. And I get the
impression you don't like that name.

Speaker 6 (05:58):
No, no, no, do we love it. We love it.
It's a Young Creator Crew.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
We are young and.

Speaker 8 (06:05):
We have a crew.

Speaker 6 (06:06):
Yeah, I mean it's kind of fancy.

Speaker 11 (06:09):
Yea.

Speaker 6 (06:10):
Literally it's a cool way to cool way to call us.
It's like, you know, it's a cordus A K A
Y C C. So it's like, you know, so I
feel like Young Creator Crew is just actually it's a
kind of a title should I say.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
How do I say?

Speaker 8 (06:28):
Sushi bo kind of a label.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
It's a label that our label.

Speaker 7 (06:34):
Okay, it started to.

Speaker 4 (06:36):
Call us the chart and the graph a label that
your labeled.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
And you know, just the way how we work.

Speaker 6 (06:44):
And I mean I grew up listening to a lot
of a mob Odd Future brought Campton, those crews really yeah,
influenced me a lot to you know, just be creative
and just you know, have fun doing what I do,
like music, videos, like music, art, like everything. So I

(07:05):
feel like that kind of became a culture in US,
and that's how our company, our label caused us, you know,
Young Creator Crew and.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
You guys have and I'm sure you guys have all
noticed this elements of like nineteen sixties psychedelic you know,
genre bending experimental soul. In the EP, you talked about
some of your influences let's get every What what are
you know?

Speaker 4 (07:26):
Give me some more of your influences.

Speaker 6 (07:29):
I grew up listening to a lot of Tam and Paula,
Yes my dad. My dad used to play me a
lot of Tame and Paula and a lot of other
rock music too.

Speaker 10 (07:39):
Yes mine, I think minus future great artists.

Speaker 8 (07:48):
Anybody else?

Speaker 7 (07:50):
You go first?

Speaker 1 (07:50):
I go first?

Speaker 10 (07:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (07:53):
For me, I think.

Speaker 11 (07:56):
Mostly inspired by like our dating lives.

Speaker 7 (08:00):
Oh yeah, Like.

Speaker 11 (08:04):
In our ep Color Outside the Lines all five songs,
like talking about our lifestyle, like going to the studio.

Speaker 10 (08:12):
Like we like a lot of different things.

Speaker 7 (08:15):
Like it's very broad, so it's everywhere.

Speaker 10 (08:18):
When we create something, it's basically a melting pot of
all our influences.

Speaker 8 (08:23):
It's a solid put together.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
And when you come together, you came together under the
name Chorduses. Yeah, man, what what's the backstory? On courtis
where the name comes from.

Speaker 6 (08:34):
So there's a phrase called the Color outside the Lines.
I betually all know it because it's our first epiece title.
It means to do things in unconventional ways and like,
you know, break the mold and think outside the box,
like like just have fun and like in general, and
I feel like that phrase best represented us, and we

(08:55):
took six random alphabets from the phrase and you know,
put together as Cortus, and that's how the name came out.

Speaker 4 (09:02):
And there it is.

Speaker 1 (09:05):
Although you guys all knew that, right, your fans know,
they probably know.

Speaker 4 (09:09):
It before you did.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
So yeah, hey, describe the sound and the vibe of
the EP color outside the lines?

Speaker 4 (09:16):
How can you put that towards?

Speaker 6 (09:18):
So I think this album had I mean, this album
has five has five songs and they all sounds very different,
you know, like and I think that really like shows
like five different aspects of who we are when we
are making this album. And you know, like I think
I can see a day when we hear this album,

(09:39):
you know, like actually somebody explaining, oh yeah, so goal
is like the time when you get ready. You know
that you're getting ready for going something, from the bed,
get out from the bed, dressing up, getting washed up.
Everything's goal. And fashion is like you know, the traffic,
the car, it's OK. And what you want is like

(10:04):
should we put it like one is traffic to.

Speaker 7 (10:06):
One is like traffic to.

Speaker 4 (10:09):
We have a lot of traffic.

Speaker 6 (10:10):
But me I felt like it was like more like
when you go to school, your homeroom teacher gets mad
at you what you want like or like let's say
you're a coworker and you're like boss gets mad at you.

Speaker 8 (10:23):
Like you want to crash smash everything, like you know.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
So that's the that's the vibe.

Speaker 6 (10:28):
And joy Ride is like on the way back home
sunset and like is like point to bed.

Speaker 8 (10:35):
A day that's like a full day.

Speaker 4 (10:38):
I'm exhausted, Let's go to bed.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
Yeah, Hey, Big Hit apparently knows what they're doing with
guy groups bt S, t x T and now Cords.
Thank you think what have you taken from your conversations
with bt S and t x T.

Speaker 6 (11:00):
So we had a very lucky chance to meet both groups. Uh,
they're they're amazing. Somebody names first of all, I feel like,
uh so when we met BTS, somebody named h J.
Hope actually told us to like, you know, stay humble
and never take things for granted and like, you know,

(11:20):
just enjoy the journey at the same time, and he
like really cheered us up a lot. And yeah, he's
he's he's a great person man.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
Any other any other cool stories you can share with
those with those two guys or two groups, I should.

Speaker 8 (11:35):
Say, Yeah, actually.

Speaker 11 (11:42):
Shown a lot of support first and like compliments. I
saw they're like singing our songs like in their lives.

Speaker 7 (11:53):
Yeah, like everywhere they always be like yeah, yeah, yeah,
shout out to Dan. Yeah there, thank you. They're they're
so cool, They're they're amazing people.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
Did you guys expect the Go choreography to explode like
it did?

Speaker 4 (12:37):
Because there was.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
A time and I'm thinking a time as in today
where everything on my feet is just somebody doing.

Speaker 4 (12:43):
The Go choreo?

Speaker 1 (12:44):
Did you expect it to blow up like it did?

Speaker 4 (12:46):
It was crazy?

Speaker 8 (12:48):
Actually, Go was choreographed here in l A.

Speaker 10 (12:52):
Yeah, and uh yeah, we choreographed it in about like
four days, and altogether, I think it's very intentional. I
think we have a kind of goal to kind of
make it very catchy and make it kind of cut
through the algorithm.

Speaker 8 (13:10):
And so Go is definitely choreo that we are very
proud of.

Speaker 7 (13:16):
Yeah, we knew it.

Speaker 6 (13:17):
I mean when we first heard the song Go, we
kind of felt like, you know, when we got to
the studio to like choreography choreo, I mean choreography the song,
it was like, Yo, I think the song is just
so catchy. We got to make the choreo catchy too,
Like we got to kind of target the viral, you know,

(13:38):
the audience, so like we needed something that could like
like people can follow, yeah, people easy, but like with
have fun with and eye catching. Like so we went
like boom boom boom, boom boom, and then like James
went like that, and it was like, okay, so let's
start from that. And then it went like blah blah
blah blah blah that like this came out.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
You say, you say easy, like anybody can do that.

Speaker 4 (14:01):
I mean, I've tried. It just ain't happening. But it's
so much fun though, it's so it's amazing.

Speaker 1 (14:06):
I mean, I'm just so I'm so impressed on how
you guys have blown up so quick and just I
don't know, I'm kind of in all right now, congrats
on everything so far.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
It's just the beginning, but so huge. Congrats. It is
so much.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
All right, We ask iHeartRadio fans across the country to
submit their talkbacks with their questions.

Speaker 4 (14:25):
We got a couple lined up.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
Play us the audio for number one here.

Speaker 5 (14:30):
Hey guys, that's out from New York. And my question
to you is, what's a moment in the past two
months that made you feel the proudest of yourselves.

Speaker 8 (14:38):
Oh good bye the way crazy fashion.

Speaker 6 (14:40):
Friends, thank you so much for great compliment. Mostly what
what are we inspired? Mostly in life? I feel like
it's our daily life first of all.

Speaker 10 (14:54):
And the proudest moment we had m Yeah, the to
release like, oh, we.

Speaker 3 (15:03):
Got to talk about that. It's the release party.

Speaker 6 (15:06):
Like I feel like we all will be sharing the
same answer. But the proudest moment will be the release party,
because like it was, it's a moment that we can forget.

Speaker 10 (15:16):
It's an event that is like the first big event
with only us and we had fun.

Speaker 8 (15:24):
Yeah, it was so much fun.

Speaker 10 (15:26):
Joy.

Speaker 6 (15:27):
I think one of other proudest moment is I heard
radio I guess making it to La, I've been always dreaming.

Speaker 7 (15:37):
About, Yeah, this is this is crazy.

Speaker 8 (15:40):
Yeah yeah.

Speaker 4 (15:41):
Well, thank you, thank you guys for being here.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
Let's do another talk back from the Heart radio app.
This is a question number two I believe.

Speaker 10 (15:51):
Hello.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
My name is Kayla.

Speaker 5 (15:52):
I'm from Dallas, Texas, and my question the Cordas is
who's your guys' biggest inspiration, whether it be in.

Speaker 4 (15:59):
You big or fashion life in general?

Speaker 5 (16:02):
Who do you guys look up to and follow.

Speaker 10 (16:05):
I know he has a very big conspiration for his
fashion style.

Speaker 8 (16:10):
Oh he's a helly boy.

Speaker 7 (16:14):
Yeah he's sick.

Speaker 8 (16:17):
Yeah. I like that.

Speaker 7 (16:20):
I like that, Thank you.

Speaker 6 (16:22):
I'm a I'm a big fan of uh the Bombin designer,
the previous bombing designer, Christopher the Cartinate if I pronounced
it right, Christophe the Cantinent maybe.

Speaker 8 (16:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (16:33):
He's amazing man.

Speaker 6 (16:35):
His his his projects, his looks, his fits, everything you
make is amazing man.

Speaker 3 (16:40):
I'm a big fan of.

Speaker 8 (16:42):
Mine is Vivian Westwood.

Speaker 10 (16:46):
She has this style and like this vibe with her
is awesome.

Speaker 8 (16:53):
I heard I love the punk style.

Speaker 2 (16:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (16:56):
For me.

Speaker 11 (16:57):
In music wise, I think it could be Radiohead.

Speaker 8 (17:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (17:05):
Do you guys like Radioheadah? Yeah, They're my favorite rock band.
Also who else? Smashing Pumpkins also Nirvana?

Speaker 6 (17:23):
Yeah yeah, great great band music. He put me onto Radioheads.
So yeah, nice, just nice nice?

Speaker 10 (17:30):
Uh?

Speaker 7 (17:31):
For me?

Speaker 11 (17:31):
In fashion wise, our stylist.

Speaker 6 (17:38):
Show, yeah, ouran his looks are crazy.

Speaker 8 (17:42):
Yeah, it's more stylish than us.

Speaker 4 (17:46):
I mean, I mean.

Speaker 6 (17:47):
One thing that I really want to talk about is
like when we shop on fruit. There's there's an app
called Fruits Family in Korea that we do online shopping,
but it's like all vintage and sometimes I I have
like some items on my wish list and then it
gets sold. And then when I come to like fitting,

(18:07):
like I see those items like and.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
I asked my stylist did you buy them?

Speaker 6 (18:11):
And I'm like, yeah, yeah, that's crazy.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
I think we have one more talk back if we
could roll talk back number three.

Speaker 5 (18:19):
Hey, guys, my name is Kayla, and I said Atlanta, Georgia.
My question is, since your name there's for color outside
the lines, what is the moment that you've had where you, guys,
felt like you were truly breaking free from the normal.
I love you guys so much. We're so proud of
you and were looking forward to everything that you have
a story.

Speaker 8 (18:36):
Thank you so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
We love you too.

Speaker 10 (18:41):
He colored outside the lines while he eats like he
can the plate.

Speaker 4 (18:46):
Nah dirty, Nah.

Speaker 3 (18:48):
Man, you think I'm like a five year old kid.

Speaker 6 (18:54):
No, No, I color inside the lines. When it comes
to eating.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
Comes to eating, it gets it gets a little serious.

Speaker 6 (19:01):
Yeah yeah, but like yeah, I think for me recently,
since I've been like working on the second album, it's
like wait, whoa what it's not coming soon, so like
please chare. But like since we've been working on the
second album and like a lot of songs and we've
been in the studio every night, I think we're trying

(19:22):
hard to like, you know, kind of break them yea
experiment like different kind of genres and mix up at times,
like just you know, try a different time kind of
vocal tones and you know just flows and everything melodies
like that is something that is unconventional, you know, unusual.

Speaker 1 (20:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
So iHeartRadio Lives feature in Corteous celebrating their first EP,
Color Outside the Lives from the iHeartRadio Theater.

Speaker 3 (20:15):
Here's your host, Jojo Right.

Speaker 1 (20:18):
Oh man, I'm so excited for these guys.

Speaker 4 (20:20):
I'm so excited for you guys.

Speaker 11 (20:23):
Yo.

Speaker 12 (20:28):
La is a really meaningful place for us because.

Speaker 3 (20:33):
You wrote the first EP.

Speaker 12 (20:37):
Fronts of Back Korea and so no sorry soul in
La and I feel like there's one joint that really
captures this mellow l.

Speaker 3 (20:48):
E l A vibe.

Speaker 8 (20:49):
What is it? Let's go, Joe right, let's good.

Speaker 11 (21:00):
M hm.

Speaker 4 (21:06):
How did you like that? Y'all are enjoying? Yeah?

Speaker 10 (21:19):
Oh yeah, yes, yeah, I think you The last song
was Joe rid mm hmmm. Uh, you wrote wrote the

(21:39):
lyrics while our manager drove us. Yeah, it's nice, it's cozy,
it's but at the same time, the lyrics are kind
of rebellious.

Speaker 8 (21:55):
Yeah, there's an edge to right. I think that really
suits la mm hmmm.

Speaker 3 (22:00):
And also Suit says yeah, oh yeah. I mean we've
been in l A for a couple of weeks. Now,
I think we got to talk about you know, what
we've been doing.

Speaker 6 (22:10):
Yeah, we've been busy making our second album. Yes, I
mean there were some unbelievable surreal moments when we were
in LA. As an example, when we were at Barnes
and Nobles. Yeah, we did a fan signed there.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
We didn't expect that much people to be there.

Speaker 7 (22:35):
Crazy man.

Speaker 3 (22:37):
We made it to l A.

Speaker 10 (22:38):
That was like a moment that I felt like that
used to shot at Barnes and Nobles.

Speaker 8 (22:42):
Yes, there, it's a day job boom moment.

Speaker 10 (22:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (22:46):
And we also had uh fantasy class and.

Speaker 8 (22:51):
Lifestyle.

Speaker 3 (22:52):
Let me, can you like put your hands up if
you learn the gol choreo that day? Okay?

Speaker 4 (23:00):
Yeah it was.

Speaker 3 (23:00):
It was a lot of fun.

Speaker 7 (23:01):
Man, it was fun.

Speaker 4 (23:03):
Was it was it fun?

Speaker 10 (23:04):
Was it hard or like it's Okay, okay, yeah, okay, okay, nice.

Speaker 4 (23:08):
Nice.

Speaker 8 (23:09):
It's our first time teaching.

Speaker 6 (23:10):
It was our first time teaching, so yeah, but it
was so much fun. We also joined the Red Bull
Dancers Style World Final.

Speaker 3 (23:19):
What's a super turned big shout out to red Bull.

Speaker 6 (23:23):
Yes, and I mean we've been also eating really well.

Speaker 10 (23:28):
Yeah, yeah, great food, even though like, oh we'll get
to that, okay, but even though like we actually come
back and forth like weird, this time is the fifth time.

Speaker 11 (23:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (23:43):
Yeah, La is basically a second home, right, but at
the same time, we still get recommendations for great food.
So if you guys got any spots, yes, we are open.

Speaker 4 (24:01):
We we welcome you with open arms.

Speaker 10 (24:05):
Yes, and I think yesterday, yes, we had some crazy pizza.
Yesterday we had some crazy pizza. I think we ordered
It's called Prince Street Pizza.

Speaker 3 (24:22):
It was nice, Like what what did you guys have yesterday?
I think me and him.

Speaker 7 (24:29):
You can have Jumpo.

Speaker 8 (24:34):
But I like the hot honey and like the.

Speaker 11 (24:38):

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
