Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Murphy Salmon Jody Daily Show podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Murphy taught an organization lesson last night aware the House.
Our oldest daughter, Taylor had asked him. Remember she was,
you know, she's in grad school, has a full time job,
and whenever she first asked you, you told her about
the Eisenhower matrix and all of that, and I was
worried that you had fire hosed her.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
I didn't want to get too complicated with it. But
you know, the thing is, Taylor's in a place right
now between school and between her full time job. It's
juggling a whole lot of task and she feels overwhelmed
with it. And what she says is she's trying to
keep it all in her mind right now, which is
kind of the default habit that I guess a lot
of us fall into when we get used to working
it into a systems. So, yeah, I kept it really

(00:50):
simple Jody this time, because I realized I probably made
her glazed over the moment you say Eisenhower matrix, You've
lost the room.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Yeah, that's when I went to take a shower. So
how did it go?

Speaker 3 (00:59):
Really?

Speaker 1 (01:01):
So I just recommended a couple of things to us
that you know, you you need to have a place
that captures every single thought. That's like David Allen is
the guru of gurus when it comes to getting things done.
The book that he wrote twenty years ago is still
today relevant even in the tech world. That you know,
everything is about making sure that you have a place
you can brain dump, because once you've got an inbox
and everything lands and you've documented it, now you've got

(01:23):
something you can work with later, even if you can't
deal with it at the moment. And that's probably the
single most important thing that most people don't do. Something happens,
you need to remember it. You don't write it down
and then guess what, Yeah, it's gone right.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
What's the name of that David Allen book Getting Things Done?

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Yeah, it's the GTD system for those of us that
actually follow David Allen. But anyway, it's not just about
making a list. You need to make sure you actually
know what should and shouldn't be on that list in
the first place. Is it something you should be doing?
That's the whole You know, you either do it now
because it takes less than two minutes. You either defer it,
which he means he trusts to use acronym to help

(02:00):
you remember this stuff. Yeah, it's the four d's. Really,
it's the do it. You defer it, which means not procrastinate.
It means you schedule it really for a later time.
You can either delegate it to somebody, which we all
have challenges with, or you actually delete it, meaning trash.
It's not a high priority. It doesn't matter if it
gets done. And so once you assess those things, you

(02:21):
can get rid of a lot of the pressure in
your life. And so I just told her to play
around with the management system. She wants to use to
do list, which is the same one I've used for
fifteen years. And it allows you to organize by projects
or categories or goals, whatever you want to call it,
and it keeps things neat and tidy, and you can
put dates on it and reminders and then it automatically

(02:42):
shows up on your calendar.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
So nice. So I guess she'll never be late for
anything ever again.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
All right, and if we skip the Eysenhower matrix this time,
excellent all the way.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
It's six fifty three things to not to start your day.
But coming up next, sam As the food did.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
So sweet, Friday, we got a new Little DeBie cake
for you. Sam's always up on the new eats.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
He's the food dude.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
Little Debbie. He's given us something new. That's a new
version of the Swiss Roll. Everybody loved the Swiss change
that it's a classic. Well, the chocolate on the outside,
that the bready part or the doe part's going to
stay the same, but the cream inside is going to
be eating Mocha.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Wait, you can still get the original though, right Oh yeah, okay,
I think they even have a strawberry one now too.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
But yeah, the Mocha Swiss rolls and actually they'll be
landing this weekend in stores. You gotta get them right away. Yeah,
got the summer releases coming from nothing nothing bund Cakes
bringing back their s'mores made with her Cheese. It's there now,
it'll be there through July nineteenth. And also this season
they're adding peach Cobbler. That one will be available.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Cake that tastes like peach cobbler or buntlet. Oh my gosh,
see Mark safe from the Moores one, but that peach one.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
Peaches and cream cake filled with cinnamon, peaches and topped
with you know, their cream cheeses.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Oh that frosting.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Yeah, you could get a buck that by itself. Gosh,
those come out Monday if you want to grab those.
And Nestley toll House they've reimagined their cookie dough, the
refrigerated ready to bake cookie dough. They have a new
line called Nesley Tollhouse Chocolate Chip Remix. Okay, brown butter,
chocolate chip, oatmeal chocolate chip, and inside out chocolate.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Chip, just different versions, more soft in it. Yeah, and
you know, you can get really crafty with that kind
of dough and the way that you actually instead of
just squishing it down on the pan, if you like,
put it in a ball and just kind of knead
it a little bit. They say, when you bake it,
it'll taste more like a real bakery cookie because it'll
be crispy on the edges but gooey in the middle,

(04:39):
like make it more ball.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
You can also use those like in muffin cups, like
as the base for oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Yeah, yeah yeah, and put something inside. I haven't gotten
that summer stuff with kids, all right, not.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
So sweet stuff. Pringles is dropping beer cheeseburger and beer
battered onion rings. Okay, partnership with Miller Lite.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
If I see those in the stores, you guys want them.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
I'd like to try it, just to see for the
heck of it. You know, the whole thing about the
fake meat thing. Sometimes it works on the chip, sometimes
it doesn't.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
We fake meat and Pringles always seems to have that
same flavor no matter what.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Because it's Springles. The Pringles Factory got a.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
New Campbell's Chunky soup coming. They've teamed up with Buffalo
Wild Wings for Parmesan garlic chicken noodle.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
Okay, oh, thank you for that. Coming up next to
your Hollywood Outsider, the latest buzz Jody's Hollywood Outsider. This
is a cool and entertaining story. Michael Jackson is on
the heart and minds and lips of everybody right now.
That's been for weeks because of the biopic, but he
has officially become the first and only artist now to

(05:43):
ever chart on the Billboard Hot one hundred in every
decade since the seventies.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
Yeah, and it's like eleven songs in the seventies were there?

Speaker 3 (05:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (05:55):
I mean with the Jackson five and then by himself
twenty songs in the eighties. I know you heard him
a few of them.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
That's the biggest one, right there.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
Twelve songs in the nineteen nineties. That's nothing to smiff acts.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
No, that's pretty impressive.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
Other artists, there are other artists who would just kill
to have even one of those years. Yeah four I'm sorry, Yeah,
four songs in the two thousands. You remember this one,
you rock my world? I do and you're like wait,
he and he did. He died in two thousand and nine,
but in the twenty tens he had some songs chart

(06:34):
remember this.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
One, some of the re releases from his estate, right
this one justinember Lay.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
And then now in the twenty twenties, this Chicago song
from the Escape album in twenty fourteen, manor on the
Way to Chicago. It's been trending on TikTok along with
the movie and all of that. So no other artist
has ever done that. So that's why Michael Jackson is
everywhere right.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
So impressive.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
Coming up next, it's Grateful Friday.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
Greatfull Friday, meaning let's hear from you, Let's celebrate little
and big things going on in your life. Eight seven
seven three one zero four Msjay to join us and
if you miss us, you can always leave us a
voice memo.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
Hey guys, Happy Friday.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
Yeah, yes, Friday Day.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
And I am on my way to work this morning,
and I wanted to call in and say I am
forty seven years old and I am grateful, very very
very grateful. Did I have had the same best friend
for forty two of my forty seven years? Well, and
I do as much as we can together still today

(07:47):
and continue to be closer and closer. Are more like
sisters than anything else. And she is She's my family
aside from blood, which your tribe can be something other
than block. So I am grateful for Ashley, my very
best friend of forty two years. Hope you all have

(08:09):
a fantastic Friday. Love your show makes me giggle on
the way to work in the morning. It's a great
way to start off to day.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
Well, thank you for the voicemail.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
So sweet, so lucky.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Right, how's your longest running best friend?

Speaker 3 (08:23):
Jodi me, My.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
Longest running friend would be Oh, that's hard to say.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
It's it's a one you've known the longest team.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
Hi, between Lisa and Melanie. Because I met those girls
who are still in my life very much like two
am friends. I call that that's a term I use,
meaning I could call them at two am if I
needed something and they would be there, and vice versa.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
Oh I thought you met you're still hanging out at
the bar to a I'm gonna be with you.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
So how old were.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
You when you met them?

Speaker 2 (08:52):
I moved to the little country town when I was
in second grade, so I would have been about seven.
And so I met them when I was seven, live
next door, and Lisa was the and so she became
an instant friend. We just clicked and then she's spent
my friend my whole life. And then Lisa was the
first person on the playground in my same grade to

(09:13):
befriend me, to even really talk to the awkward, little
redheaded girl who was new. So yeah, that's incredible. It's
like family that you get to choose.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
It's one thing to still be in touch, but it's
another thing to really still be true friends. When you
get back together, it's like, you know, stay, you stay
in contact enough that it keeps the friendship alive.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Two am, Friends, Thank you, Join us anytime. Grateful Friday
coming up next.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
Jody has three things to note today.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
Here's three things to know today. Number one, the new
study highlighting what some scientists believe is that we can
actually multitask, but you have to train your brain to
do it, kind of like the way that when you
first start learning to drive, you have to focus so
hard on driving, and then now we drive without thinking.
We can listen to music and talk while we drive.
They say the same is true for other things, like

(10:06):
going forward. If you're an X ray tech and you're
looking at something quickly, if you've looked at the same
kind of thing one hundred times, that you can tell
benign or malignant almost automatically.

Speaker 3 (10:16):
Oh wow.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
Yeah, But it's still multitasking. You have to get there eventually.
It doesn't happen right away. Number two, FIFA set to
ban water bottles at World Cup matches. At first they
said no, you can bring in like clear, transparent plastic
bottles into stadiums. And now they're saying, you know what,
it's going to be an issue. We don't want it.
It's a safety issue. You know, people they get it thrown.

(10:39):
Sometimes they get thrown on the field. I've been at
stadiums before where they take the cap from you. You
can't you know, you can't have a cap.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
Hey, there's certain golf tournaments where they throw a water bottle.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
And the stands anyway. So now you're going to have
to buy bottled water at all events. They say they
plan to keep it at standard venue rates. And number
three today is National Donut Days, originally created to honor
the Salvation Army's donut lassies serving soldiers during World War One.
So Krispy Kreme's got a free one for you, no

(11:08):
purchase required. Check Duncan for a really cool purchase. Even
seven eleven in speedways, you're in the note. Three things
to know Today.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
Judy's top five entertainment stories of the week.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
Number five. This horror film called Obsession is quite a hit.
In fact, it's on track to become one of the
most profitable films ever. I wish Nikki Freeming living more
than anyone in the entire world. This girl, this girl
is in his life and she's in the friend zone,
and he wants much much more from her, and so
he breaks this wishing willow thing and she becomes obsessed

(11:44):
with him. The reason it's on track for this is
because it only costs two hundred I'm sorry, seven hundred
and fifty thousand to make. Oh really, it's already made
close to three hundred million dollars. It's a margin, it's
a return on investment thing.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
And Ours and Phoebe say it's incredible hair. Oh, they
only want to see it once.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
Number four, a Shania Twain biopick, is in the words
and Shania is producing. She's on board, so expect authenticity.
She overcame a lot, okay, living in poverty, playing gigs
when she was a kid because her parents died. Her
first album flopped, did you guys know that? And then
there was Mutt Lane.

Speaker 3 (12:24):
Yeah, so look.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
For a Shanaia biopic soon. Number three Anne Hathaway is
everywhere right now. We don't know how she's had a
chance to make all these movies. But another one that's
coming out in August. It's a dinosaur movie showing up
in a neighborhood called the End of Oak Street.

Speaker 4 (12:40):
I think that our neighborhood.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
It sounds crazy, our hopes like unrealistic, but it looks
like Stranger Things with dinosaurs O. August fourteenth in theaters.
Number two this weekend, one of the big movies is
Masters of the Universe.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
Even though I was stuck light years a week.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
So live action hey Man remake okay, based on the
cartoon from the eighties. So what did the critics say?
Most of the male critics say, this was tons of fun,
especially if I was still a fourteen year old boy.
It's totally watchable. But it would they say, it would
have been right up their alley if they'd have seen
it when they were a kid.

Speaker 3 (13:21):
Murphy, were you in the Masters of the Universe? And
that just wasn't my thing.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
I watched her that was more about bugs Bunny on Saturdays.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
The flex move right there.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
Nuther one.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
Emily Blood this is my favorite story of the week,
revealed that she's the actual vocalist for the Disclosure Day.
Alien sound.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
That would drives me crazy.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Actually when I hear it, you know, hey, good sound
effects on her part, but kind of annoying.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
Spilberg gave her the option of using AI to create
that sound. She said, you know what, let's make it real.
They put microphones by her mouth her throat recorded those
clicking sounds and the humming. She made all of that
Disclosure Day in theaters.

Speaker 1 (14:03):
June twelfth, Joey's Top five entertainment stories of the week.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
Coming up next Your Morning Pick Me Up.

Speaker 2 (14:10):
Morning picked me up time and let this story serve
for you as a reminder, a pick me up if
you will, if you ever lose your family pet okay,
I will.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
Lose as in the neighborhood or oh I think you
know what she means.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
No, no, no, no, no, no, I don't mean die.

Speaker 1 (14:27):
Oh okay, I thought that's how I was trying to
be really sensitive.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
They're lost. We've all been there. Get away from you
and you walk the neighborhood for two weeks and you.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
Post, well, that's almost as painful as actually losing them,
as in.

Speaker 3 (14:41):
They're no longer with its right.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
It's the unknown that kills you, and you're like, are
they hungry? Are they tired? Are they cold? I'll tell
you the story of Pete. He's a one year old
beagle mix, got separated from his owner in New York City,
got off of his leash during a walk. Look, I
got lost in New York City. We were there and
you were two feet away from me.

Speaker 3 (15:02):
Guys, you aren't even on a leash.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
Anyway. This is what's funny. He got away. His parents
were worried. He this dog ended up at his day
his doggy daycare, where he normally goes. He went a
mile or so and found and was sitting at the
door before they even opened.

Speaker 3 (15:23):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (15:23):
That cute or cool that dog.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
I guess he's familiar with it.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
He knows crazy. Anyway, he ran about about a mile.
They figured they figured a mile based on just where
he got lost from. And he was waiting outside the
front door and a staff member let him in and
so they they recognized Pete. They could see he had
some scuffs because it was rough in the city, New
York for him finding his way, but he found his

(15:49):
way back to his doggy daycare. It's called pooch Play
and Stay was the name of it. Look, those are
big in New York City, in the big cities, you know,
New York being the number one. There are people making
bank making a living just being a dog walker.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
Oh dog yeah, dog walking you walk ten at a time.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
Yeah. But anyway, they knew him. They're like, oh, this
is Pete. They started to clean him up and gave
him a bath. And while they were giving him a bath,
the person at the front called the owners and said,
we've got Pete.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
Which is one of the biggest reliefs you'll ever get
in a phone.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
Call correct, they made him the dog of the week.
But I just wanted to show because you need to know.
You know, pets often do have some sort of sense
of direction, so check their normal places if they get
lost from you.

Speaker 1 (16:35):
A sweet picking up. Coming up next, Jody has another
Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
The Latest Buzz. Jody's Hollywood Outsider promise you, Sam is
going to get to the new Taylor Swift Toy story
five song and it's a good one and the video
coming up in music news right now, entertainment news is
that Scary Movie six is at the theater now we
bet Now, remember these are the hit horror movies that

(17:06):
are actually parody movies of all other horror movies from
the Wayne Wayn's brothers, like Marlon and Sean. They're back.
Anna Feris is back, like some ogs. Regina Hall is back.

Speaker 3 (17:18):
The critics are saying these are this is awful, but
are like good, that's just what we want.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
That's what they want. Like it seems like a real
horror movie, but that needed laughter in the middle. It's
like the relief movie if you watch too much horror.
And so every time they parody this one is parroting
some recent ones like sinners, weapons, long legs, and parodying
do of get Out, which was from Jordan Peele the

(17:47):
Wayan Brothers asked Jordan, Hay, do you want to be
a part of it? You're being pared, you know, parodied
here anyway, and he was like, you know, I'm good.
So Jordan Peele is not a part of it unless
that's just a teaser and we're gonna get Dan in
the movie. It's playing this we again again, righted r
set to take on back rooms and obsession. We've got
some horror right now in the middle of summer at
the box office for you.

Speaker 3 (18:08):
Coming up at seven fifty three things to know today.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
You guys don't realize this, but yesterday you both made
me feel kind of exposed, Like, okay, really, what when
we're talking about cocktails and mocktails and the cocktails of
summer twenty twenty six, like what's popular being like vodka,
lemonades and spritzers that coming from the bartending and mixologist world. Yep,
you guys were having a little fun with me, poking

(18:34):
fun at me because I said I never knew what
to order once I was legal age to drink, and
it took me my whole life to know what to order.
We'll get to that.

Speaker 1 (18:42):
And the hellbody does at you're first, you know, I mean,
it's if you go into that experience by the time
you're legally able to.

Speaker 3 (18:50):
Other issues.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
But you guys were picking at me, going you remember
what you said? No, you guys were like, oh, Boon's Farm,
Oh yeah, screw cap, screw cap. And I was stunned because,
of course that was the first thing I had to drink.
Of course it was. It was strawberry Boons Farm, and
it was a screw cap and it was.

Speaker 3 (19:11):
Somen't think I need to feel bad about it, you know,
you just don't.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
I just felt exposed. I couldn't believe that's like somebody
picking on you about something but being dead on.

Speaker 3 (19:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (19:20):
But Boone's Farm, it's the standard. Yeah, it comes to that.

Speaker 3 (19:24):
I don't want to call it a write a passage,
but Boone's Farm is like every everybody does it.

Speaker 2 (19:29):
Yeah, okay, So that leads me to my next question.
Do you guys remember what your first drink was? And
I do mean alcoholic drink. I'm not asking you how
old you are, I'm asking you what it was.

Speaker 1 (19:40):
You know, it's funny I don't really think about that
anymore since I don't drink anymore. No, I'm sure it
was probably this is going to sound bad too, it's
probably my dad giving me a taste of beer that
he put salt around the rim of, you know, after
cutting the grass one time.

Speaker 2 (19:54):
Why salt around the rim.

Speaker 3 (19:55):
I don't know. That's just what my dad did at
one point. Oh, but I mean, and that was that.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
But first official drink was probably something silly like an
Amaretto sour. But you know, last drink May nineteen, twenty eleven,
so that's a that's in the past.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
Yeah, I'm just mean when you were a young person
and the first time you ever had a drink.

Speaker 3 (20:13):
Is amaretto and orange juice.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
Okay, And do you know what really we both were
Ameretto to start Sam.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
It was all mt.

Speaker 3 (20:19):
It was on my senior cruise. This is when drinking
age was eighteen. Got it set senior cruise and somebody said, hey, yeah,
this is good. Try it. I try a sip and
it's like, oh yeah, give me one of those. Okay, Okay.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
In today's After the Show podcast, you were all letting
us know on our socials what your go to drink
order is whether mocktail or cocktail. So that's today.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
Later coming up next.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
Jody has three things to note today.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
Three things to know today. Number One, Netflix said to
debut a FIFA World Cup game that you can play
along while the World Cup is happening. Pull up your
phone or your TV and that becomes the controller. Okay,
you play as you pick a team out of the
forty eight. You can play at any of those real
world stadiums. You're playing along, and you can take control

(21:06):
of any of the over one thousand players, and it's
updated daily along with what's really happening, real events and
results of the tournament.

Speaker 3 (21:14):
I've never played any of the Netflix schames.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
There you go. Number two, demand for the Odyssey tickets
overwhelming AMC's ticket app My.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
Dad is Coming Home.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
It's just a lot of demand for this because it
was shot in imax. Everybody wants to see it in
imax and other large formats screening. So yesterday they had
to pause ticket sales because they were overwhelmed AMC, and
they weren't the only ones. Like Fandango's website also was
dragging based on people trying to get Odyssey tickets in
Imax and it's.

Speaker 3 (21:45):
Not filled July right mid.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
July large and small screens in July. And number three
it was a Kentucky man who got busted after an
eighty six thousand dollars bourbon scam. He was selling, making
contacts with Bourbon loves groups on Facebook and other social
media platforms, and he was like, these are high dollar bottles,
and they would buy and he would send them and
then they realized, wait, this is like water and apple juice.

(22:10):
He had made eighty six thousand or so before being busted.
You're up to date. Three things to know Today Sam
Scott Music, who used.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
Today We've been waiting for for two days. Taylor Swift
has dropped the new song from Toy Story five. It's
called I Knew It.

Speaker 4 (22:29):
I Knew You, dude came back Quinn and met at
I saw you stand in the and then that's in
the room in that scene.

Speaker 2 (22:37):
It's more like that first Taylor we got.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
It's country ask, but it sounds like Taylor. It sounds
like a Taylor song, And she said writing the song,
it felt like a departure but also coming home at
the same time, and she wanted to create something new
for Jesse.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
Can we talk about that video that she released overnight.
It's she's in it as a child dressed as a cowgirl.
It's her, yeah, cute.

Speaker 3 (23:00):
Dressed up as Jesse.

Speaker 2 (23:01):
Omos check it.

Speaker 3 (23:02):
And by the way, she also shouted out the guy
who came up with the whole toy story theme for
all of these movies, Randy Newman, you got said he's
gave it, given us a great tapestry of songs over
the years that she was able to build on.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
So that's kind of nice, so original.

Speaker 3 (23:18):
Yeah, yes, So you can download the song now if
you want to hear it. One week from today, Jody,
one of your favorite most anticipated albums is coming out
of my life Keith Thurban's Flow State. It's his yacht
Rocks album, which, by the way, you know he came
up with it just like on a whim, Yeah, because
he was recording the yacht rock songs, which he likes,

(23:38):
just for himself. He'd do them in soundchecks and just
record him and keep them himself, and then it's like, wait,
why don't we just do the whole album like this?
So today he's releasing Magnet and Steel and it's with
Little Big Town.

Speaker 2 (23:56):
Oh, my gosh on repeat this summer when this drops
next week. It's music that already lives in your body
and soul. Then his voice.

Speaker 3 (24:09):
How could you not like it?

Speaker 2 (24:10):
You know every single song they's already released Summer Breeze
and Steal Away or anybody who wants to dabble in.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
This whole album comes out a week from today. And
we also have the lullaby album has been done now
you know how they take all the big stars and
they make lullaby versions of their songs. When we now
have the post Malone one here Sunflower, Wake Up, Jody.

Speaker 2 (24:37):
I love it so good. So every song is a
posty song.

Speaker 3 (24:42):
Every song is a posty song.

Speaker 2 (24:43):
Yes, fantastic on the way in a bit, another Hollywood
Outsider with the Michael Jackson documentary you can now stream
coming up next though, Murphy's management matrix is back. Hang
out with us one. It's convenient for you and catch
up on everything. The Daily Show podcast that's Monday through Friday,

(25:04):
the whole Show. You also get after the show there
anywhere you listen to podcasts, you can search Murphy, Sam
and Jody, and there's a weekend show podcast. Lots Marpha.

Speaker 3 (25:15):
You were sharing with us earlier that you had to
sit down with your oldest daughter Taylor last night to
help her out with some organizational skills. Yeah, time to
get stuff together.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
Actually, she asked for the time, and.

Speaker 1 (25:25):
She actually asked because she's got a lot of things
swirling right now. She's in the master's program. She had
a lot of classes. And I think when you're getting
your master's and you have a full time job, that's
like school to the extreme. That's not even the same
as in your bachelor's doing a part time gig. You know,
you got a lot going.

Speaker 3 (25:41):
Yeah, and you were telling her about that book get
Her Done or whatever it is, Get Things Done. Yeahry
the Cable Guy book. Anyway, David Allen, four ds in
that one, and you know, to decide what to do.
But what is the Eisenhower matrix. I know we were
joking about that, but isn't that four things too?

Speaker 1 (26:00):
It's the same thing. All of these books organizational, So
many of these books an organization are all based on
the same thing, you know, David Allen, is do it
either do it now, defer it meaning schedule it, you
delegate it to somebody else, or you delete it. And
it's the same thing. The Eisenhower concept matrix is a
really fancy word for it, but President Eisenhower was the

(26:21):
one in the military that devised that one where you
have three different you know, things that are important and urgent, important,
not urgent, urgent, not important, not important, not urgent, okay,
but they align with each other. If you do it now,
it's urgent and it's important. If you're scheduling it, it's
important but not urgent, which, by the way, is the
thing most of us actually fail to do. Those are

(26:43):
the kinds of things like, Okay, I really should make
this doctor's appointment today, or I really should the things
that get constantly put off because they're really important but
not urgent enough for it.

Speaker 2 (26:51):
Yeah, I have a question. Is it okay if I
keep rolling in my life with just a daily list?

Speaker 3 (26:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (26:59):
I think it's a highly personal thing. It just depends
on how many things that you juggle, if you've got
if you may have a lot of things, but they're
like in one category of your life, one list works
for you. But if you're juggling school and work full
time and your health and growth goals and things in
your career, or if you're a job that's if your job,
like has five different hats that you wear, you need

(27:20):
something more than a long list. Otherwise the list is
going to overcome them.

Speaker 2 (27:23):
You need a matrix. Thanks Murphy coming up next to
your Hollywood Outsider, Jody's Hollywood Outsider. So that three part
docuseries about Michael Jackson, not the movie. This is the
other side of it that won't be covered in the movie.
It's about the charges that he faced in two thousand

(27:46):
and three and the trial in two thousand and five.
It's called the verdict.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
And this is mitter Jackson's main area. Are there any
secret roots? Hollee right now searching Michael Jackson's Neverland ranch.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
This is part of an ongoing investigation.

Speaker 3 (28:05):
I watched the about twenty minutes of the first episode. Yeah, yeah,
His house is just like odd. Uh, it is so
cluttered with just stuff, toys.

Speaker 2 (28:14):
And collective toys, and that I know, whether you really
want to let this in or not, it's hard to
keep away from wanting to see that, right. So, this
docu series is about the media frenzy surrounding it, about
courtroom key figures are going to be speaking here. Jurors, witnesses,

(28:34):
and defendants are people from both sides, prosecution and defense,
will be speaking.

Speaker 3 (28:40):
Okay, it's got all the attorneys in it. They've got
a lot of footage that is shot from the sheriffs
when they first raided his house. I mean like, there's
it's amazing the ft they and this is.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
A back when we didn't see any all of that
because we didn't have these little devices in our hands
as much as we as we do now. So it's
called The Verdict. It's streaming on Netflix now. When we
say we love hearing from you, we mean it. This
is from Laura on Instagram Messenger. Hey Murphy, Sam and Jody,
I am sitting I'm sitting on my school bus listening

(29:13):
to your show from Delaware. She's a school bus driver.
Delaware is a peninsula and we have water on three
sides of us, as well as many many farms, so
the mosquitoes are in abundance here. The mosquito authorities do
spray for them around bodies of water and swampy areas,

(29:33):
so that is helpful, but we still have them. Sam
mentioned he has all kinds of citronella candles and is
experimenting well. Of course, he has all kinds of candles
Laura and mention he is experimenting with mosquito dunkers. I
hope that works for you, Sam, me too, I never
get bit by mosquitos, and I attribute that to my diet, Laura.

(29:58):
Laura goes on to say, I eat a lot of
fresh garlic as well as onions. I grow garlic. Wow,
and it's and it's the best. And I use it
in just about every meal I prepare for dinner. I
cut up fresh clothes on my pizza. So many ways
to enjoy it. Tell Sam, it will help to keep
the vampires away as well.

Speaker 1 (30:18):
You know, I never thought about that, But if it's
something that the mosquitoes don't like and it seeps into
your skin, maybe that actually does work.

Speaker 3 (30:25):
Because aren't they attracted to you based on your smell.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
Yes, I've read about it a million times, because no
matter what, if I go to in an area, a
big area where there's one mosquito, it's going to find
me and suck my blood. Murphy knows it's true, and
then it whelps up.

Speaker 3 (30:41):
On me because he's finding the sweetness.

Speaker 2 (30:44):
Okay, I didn't say that, but they do say dark
clothing they like if you're whatever responding to the heat.
If you're especially hot, they find you, and I mean temperature,
but it is something to do with your chemistry that
they are attracted. Yes, so some people are naturally more

(31:05):
vulnerable to mosquito.

Speaker 3 (31:06):
You throw off the mosquito vibe.

Speaker 1 (31:08):
Yeah, and I think it's worth trying anything that is
like that doesn't But the American Mosquito Control Association, you know,
I get their journal every month. Down of course, they
say eating garlic and onion actually doesn't really necessarily keep
them away unfortunately. But again, but they do say, I
mean body chemistry has to do.

Speaker 3 (31:26):
With garlic still works on vampires does for sure.

Speaker 2 (31:31):
Thank you for listening. We love you.
