the dog, the urine sample went for Jody. Hopefully the
dog didn't spray. This is when you were your doctor

I know I can get a sample from that sweet
good boy who would do anything for me, who would
let me have a sample. When he goes out into
the yard, he would he's going a runaway or get
shy around me. He'd take down a grizzly bear for me.

I forget to whenever I take him out to potty
and he starts peeing, that's when I remember the cup
that's in my purse, or actually it's in.

The car now, so I have it in the car.
I left it in the car empty.

So you do still need to get one, or is
it I mean my vet.

I mean his blood work came back perfect and the
only thing they didn't get was the urine panel or whatever,
So probably don't.

Have to purse and put it by the back door.

It's just a it's a you know, knowing that you
need to do something, but having the right. They were
supposed to get it at the vet, you know, and
they couldn't get him.

He didn't like being messed with.

Well, and that's not that's my point, because you think
about Champ Champ, he's he really is one of the
most human like dogs that we've ever had, but one
of Champ's things, and he's always been this way, and
he gets really tentative. It's almost like what do you
call that when somebody when somebody gets in your space

and you start to get that. He's very, very sensitive
about the space around him.

So violating his personal space.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
So even if you're walking up to him with a treat,
he's very tentative at first. And and it's not like
anybody's racing up or scaring him when he's doing that.
He's just tentative anything that comes nears him that day.
So that's why I think as much as he loves you,
and I know that he does, I think it's going
to be tricky because he's not going to understand what's

going on. And the curiosity, it's not shyness, it's just
the curiosity. The space thing is going to mess him up.
That's what I think.

I don't know if I'm past the point of the

Lupe says. I enjoyed the story that Jody shared about
her experience while sitting at the bar. I had a
similar experience when I was in La last February, right
after the terrible fires. Oh yeah, I went to a
restaurant at a hotel, and since I was alone, I
sat at the bar. I was enjoying my dinner when
the fire alarm went off and no one got up
or did anything.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
Yikes.
Speaker 4 (03:49):
I looked at the guy sitting next to me and
asked if he thought we should get up and walk out,
and he said, let's ask the bartender. When the bartender
walked up, we asked and he said, there is no fire.
Since the hotel was old. It happened a lot and
it probably it was just something in the kitchen that
got too hot.

That's a dangerous little game.
Speaker 4 (04:07):
Sure enough. A little while later we got the all
clear announcement and we continued with our meals. We then
had a really nice conversation and found out we both
volunteer for the Red Cross.

I love it.

Well, that's cool.

We ended up having dinner together for the rest of
my stay, and we even had a chance to go
see the Lakers play.

Definitely opt to sit at the bar when dining alone.

Correct, that was the story. Wasn't about the fire alarm
my part. I had a fire alarm when I was
on my weekend girls weekend get away. But it was
like when you can't get a table at a restaurant,
sit at the bar. Normally you will make a new friend.
People are just more you converted.

It's just good conversation. Yeah, there's something about everybody being
kind of dialed back, you know, especially if everybody's eating
at the bar. I know, you can sit there and
drink too, but anybody that's going to sit and you know,
and eat, conversation just naturally kind of sparks and starts.

because I think it would.

I'm wondering if part of the reason that I'm not
hearing anything is because it's a little handheld. Even when
I kind of hold it out the window, I'm not,
you know, cool picking it up. And I know there
are fewer truckers using them these days, but they still
use them.

all over North America. I have an eighteen foot antenna

emergency communications network boom.

You know, and see, that's the one thing I know
that everybody's been poking a little fun at me for
CB But you know, CB and even short waves. Well
CBE you don't have to be licensed to use short wave.
You have to have a license to use. But if
something fails, if satellites in the sky fail, a CBE
radio is still going to work, you know what I'm saying.
As far as like communication, that that kind of wireless

cellular communication, same thing if a cell tower goes down.
It's really interesting how awesome digital technology is. I mean,
I wouldn't trade it. I love everything digital fail, but
everything between satellites, Internet and everything else. If it fails,
you know what's your backup? And the truth is all
you know, that kind of traditional analog they call it
(06:35):
analog radio is it's not likely to fail in any
sort of circumstance like that. It's it's good emergency communication.
That matters, not whether there's a satellite active in the
sky or an Internet connection.

It's good as long as it's not little handheld that
you have to stay well. The thing is the handheld.

I haven't tried. I guess I should actually ask and
see if somebody is listening, and then see if that's

And try it when you're not in an emergency situation,
or we're stuck in traffic and you're.

to come up with a handle too before you do that.

uses handles anymore still. The every now and then you
will see somebody who's taking their trailer hitch and they
have a huge antenna on the back, you know, with
a tennis ball to protect it.

get near because I have a feeling like, when this
dude clicks it on, is my phone gonna die?

Yeah? And I know there are a lot of people
that you'll probably look at that and go, what you know,

bet he can talk a long distance roll down the
wind to Jody.

Look, what's funny is listening to you guys talk about
this and you, you know, shouting out for the.

see in play, and so that's why there are play kitchens,
and they were walkie talkies. That's why, you know, all

Murphy Sam and Jody dot Com regarding road trip snacks. First,
she says, we pack lunches. We love stopping at roadside
parks and having a little picnic lunch.

We have sandwiches, grapes, cheese sticks, all the good for
you stuff, even carrot sticks, but we still have a
goodie box in the car for the remainder of the
trip of our mustaves, minor pringles and turtle checks mix.
My husband's knew My husbands are smoked almonds, peanut butter crackers,
and his juridos, and then we also share dark chocolate

m and ms.

See that's somebody who packs their road snacks.

As opposed to seeing what will surprise and delight you
on the road at convenience stores.

Peanut butter crackers are are true comfort snack food.

Yeah, the one.

I mean, I will travel with them, I will stop,
I'll pick them up. I don't know, I just I
have a thing for those. What I did not like
is a kid with that. And my mom would pack
stuff for us to eat a sandwich along the way.
But that's where I kind of developed a little bit
of a dislike for sandwiches that are like cold, that
have been made too long ago, and like the mayo

and the mustard. And she would do Bollonian cheese, or
she'ld do ham and cheese, and that combo cold just
grossed me up.

That's funny because there's something that happens to the bread
and the mayo when a sandwich has been refrigerated like
that for a long time.

But I think it's fantastic. Really, you can't get yeah
my life.

Bread sticks to the roof of your mouth. Yeah, so soft.

It just gets weird. But to me, like you know
that the meat and the cheese together when they're that cold,
they're just not it. I don't know. So funny if
it were grilled or if it were freshly made, different
deal altogether. But those they they were really hungry.

Yeah, but I think they used to give me a
stomach ache. They would actually make me sick.

are jumping to my mind. Ten episodes and season two

coming sounds like and I did binge it over one weekend.
Was the show called Nobody Wants This on Netflix, starring
Kristen Bell. She was nominated for her first Emmy for
that work. Just this week she was nominated. Nobody Wants
This is a grown up it's not for kids, sort
of romantic dramedy and it was really funny.

And season two.

The other one that I did watch, and I'm waiting.
I'm so ready for the next season and I think
it's coming this fall. Another book is coming this fall

that I cannot get enough of and that's actually jk
Rowling who wrote all the Harry Potter books.

It's made by the BBC and it's a great binge.

Yeah? And I know there are a lot of people
that you'll probably look at that and go, what you know,

Look, what's funny is listening to you guys talk about
this and you, you know, shouting out for the.

I realize now why when we were kids, we all
we kids, because in play you are mimicking things you
see in play, and so that's why there are play kitchens,
and they were walkie talkies. That's why, you know, all
the neighborhood kids were so excited to play with walkie talkie.

Oh they were fun.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
Yeah right, that was the way.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
Now I get it. I didn't ever really play with
the walkie.

I didn't.

They didn't do anything for me. I was like, okay,
who cares so well?

The thing is for me, walkie. It worked. It's like
when you whipped it out and he and then it
was like, okay, that's great, we did it.

Milwaukie talkie also had the Morse code on it, so
of course your other friend is like, what is he doing?

And I.

Don't even in Morse code was like ancient when we
were complaining, you know, around with it, so I don't
know if it's even still.

Moving on, We have an email here from Susan to
Murphy Sam and Jody dot Com regarding road trip snacks. First,
she says, we pack lunches. We love stopping at roadside
parks and having a little picnic lunch.

That's kind of cute.

We have sandwiches, grapes, cheese sticks, all the good for
you stuff, even carrot sticks, but we still have a
goodie box in the car for the remainder of the
trip of our mustaves, minor pringles and turtle checks mix.
My husband's knew My husbands are smoked almonds, peanut butter crackers,
and his juridos, and then we also share dark chocolate

m and ms.

See that's somebody who packs their road snacks.
Speaker 2 (09:22):
As opposed to seeing what will surprise and delight you
on the road at convenience stores.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
Peanut butter crackers are are true comfort snack food.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
Yeah, the one.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
I mean, I will travel with them, I will stop,
I'll pick them up. I don't know, I just I
have a thing for those. What I did not like
is a kid with that. And my mom would pack
stuff for us to eat a sandwich along the way.
But that's where I kind of developed a little bit
of a dislike for sandwiches that are like cold, that
have been made too long ago, and like the mayo
(09:53):
and the mustard. And she would do Bollonian cheese, or
she'ld do ham and cheese, and that combo cold just
grossed me up.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
That's funny because there's something that happens to the bread
and the mayo when a sandwich has been refrigerated like
that for a long time.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
But I think it's fantastic. Really, you can't get yeah
my life.
Speaker 4 (10:10):
Bread sticks to the roof of your mouth. Yeah, so soft.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
It just gets weird. But to me, like you know
that the meat and the cheese together when they're that cold,
they're just not it. I don't know. So funny if
it were grilled or if it were freshly made, different
deal altogether. But those they they were really hungry.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
You'd like it.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
Yeah, but I think they used to give me a
stomach ache. They would actually make me sick.

Oh oh.

I don't know if that was a mental thing or
the dog.

binged over one weekend from an author. I can't remember

said it had ten episodes and a season two was coming.
So Elizabeth, I just want you to know two things
are jumping to my mind. Ten episodes and season two

coming sounds like and I did binge it over one weekend.
Was the show called Nobody Wants This on Netflix, starring
Kristen Bell. She was nominated for her first Emmy for
that work. Just this week she was nominated. Nobody Wants
This is a grown up it's not for kids, sort
of romantic dramedy and it was really funny.

And season two.

The other one that I did watch, and I'm waiting.
I'm so ready for the next season and I think
it's coming this fall. Another book is coming this fall
from author Robert Gallbraith, who writes the Cormoran Strike series
that I cannot get enough of and that's actually jk
Rowling who wrote all the Harry Potter books.

These are grown up detective books again, not series.

Yeah, the series. The show is called c B Strike.
It's made by the BBC and it's a great binge.
But no, it's crime, it's crime, it's mystery and.

done it. By the end of it, you know, you're
going to be guessing who did it and you you
always find out and it's a rough road getting there, but.
