Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Murphy Salmon Jody Daily Show Podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Follow us on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube.
Speaker 3 (00:08):
We read and see every single thing from you there
all the time. It's such a sweet relationship. I love
to dig in there. We also have email coming into
Murphy Samon Jody dot com. This one from Christine. Now,
we haven't talked about feeding cats in a long time.
I've been known to feed wildlife. I've been known to
feed animals. I have not fed cats at work in
(00:30):
a long time.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
Okay, you're talking about it's you're talking about wildcats. I
was wondering for a minute.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
I'm talking about real cats, Like I guess they're wild
until I started feeding them.
Speaker 4 (00:40):
Feed wild cats. Don't you a tract more wildcats?
Speaker 1 (00:42):
You track everything. Actually, I don't think you can put
a sign up and just say.
Speaker 4 (00:45):
Cats only, right.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
Anyway, I did stop feeding them at work, and I
saw one the other day though. It was so hard
for me to just look away and not go anyway,
Christine sent this. I fed couple of neighborhood cats. I
upgraded their food to blue Wilderness, and suddenly I had
a dozen cats coming for breakfast. I changed back to
the HV Special and then after a couple of months,
(01:10):
I put the Blue Wilderness back and there was the
pack again.
Speaker 5 (01:14):
How the heck do they know? What she's saying?
Speaker 3 (01:16):
Is the generic food the basic like store brand did
not attract a pack of cats.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
But then maybe it's scientifically designed by h B to
make sure you don't attract a lot of animises.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
Yeah, you know already the cats. You want?
Speaker 1 (01:30):
Everything they do is awesome.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
Look, animals have a heightened sense of smell, especially hungry animals.
Speaker 4 (01:36):
Do you think it's a smell or do you think
the cats are telling the other cats the good stuff's out?
Speaker 3 (01:41):
It's like a holiday, the Christmas anyway, Christine, good luck
with that.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
You'd have to look at the ingredients to see there
may be something to this.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
I've heard a lot about the Blue Wilderness food. It's
an upgrade, it's in elevated, it's more expensive includes catnip
than the generic brands.
Speaker 5 (01:55):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
Also from Murphy Salamon, Jody dot Com, Mark Synthus, Hey, guys,
love the show. Listen every day. This is for the
food dude also known as Sam Sam. Did you see
that the Red Barren pizza, their fifty topping pizza is
there where you can go online and register to win one.
And it's got that many toppings.
Speaker 4 (02:15):
Yeah, we kind of covered that in the Food Dude
last week. You can register for it. It's if they're
calling it the Supreme Supreme Pizza because it has fifty
different toppings.
Speaker 5 (02:23):
And did you register for when I read it?
Speaker 3 (02:25):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (02:25):
Yeah, of course, first day I signed up. I haven't
heard anything yet.
Speaker 5 (02:29):
Get in line, mark behind Sam. We love having you along.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
You can also join the conversation by giving us a
call eight seven seven three one zero four msj.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
Coming up at six fifty, Jody has three things to
know today.
Speaker 5 (02:41):
Coming up next.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
You can't catch up on sleep, but apparently you can
catch up on the exercise. Here's a little guilt you
can drop and forget about and get out of your life.
If you can't make exercise happen three times a week,
apparently you can make it up on the weekend.
Speaker 5 (02:59):
They've some research.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
The research they did was with like brisk walking for
fat loss, like cardio, So they did the same seventy
five minutes of brisk walking broken up over three times
during the week, not not that many minutes like they
do the math three it is it's an hour and
(03:21):
fifteen minutes, so break that, divide that by three, and
that's they would do Monday, Wednesday, Friday. So over total
the whole week it was seventy five minutes. And they
tested those you know people in the study and there
was the cardiovascular benefit and fat loss from those people
in the study who were doing it three times a week,
and then a whole other group only did it on
(03:43):
the weekend one long session an hour and what did
you say? Fifteen minutes of brisk walking, same benefits cardiovascular
and fat loss. So you know, you can't catch up
on sleep on the weekend, although we try, you apparently
can catch up on exercise.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
One of my trainers, Paul and actually my current trainer Hayley,
All they say it's cumulative. Exercise is cumulative. Yeah, Now
cumulative doesn't mean wait three months and then you have
to be consistent if you're doing it once per week,
but it is, you know, So like I was not
feeling well Monday, so I missed my workout, but I
will still get the same benefit as long as I
do my you know, make up that workout this week.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
Do you try to work harder when you when you're
making up a workout.
Speaker 5 (04:26):
I know, I always do. I've been if it's been
in a long time, like I hold those.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
If I miss like two weeks because it's core training,
it's hard, I'll start to feel that difference. If you
wait four or more, you're almost starting.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
Yeah. I always felt like exercise is like advertising. You
have to be consistent.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
Yeah it is.
Speaker 5 (04:44):
Those things are true in life.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
But what they're saying is if you can't make it
work in your week, don't work time shifted.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
Man. I am so glad to hear that, because you
know I do walk three days a week, Oh do
you say? And I walk thirty minutes, not twenty five,
but thirty minutes each time. And the times when I
miss it on a Friday.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
And you feel on Saturday, let go of that, Gilfin
and just walk.
Speaker 5 (05:06):
Isn't that beautiful information? I love it.
Speaker 3 (05:09):
You can catch up on exercise as long as you
don't go what two months coming up next?
Speaker 5 (05:14):
Your Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
The Latest Buzz Jody's Hollywood.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Outsider, Brothers fans in that Game of Thrones world and
we do mean everything duncan egg, I'm sorry.
Speaker 5 (05:27):
The Seven Kingdoms, those are the characters though.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (05:31):
House of the Dragon.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
That's the only one that I would It's a little complicated,
doesn't it.
Speaker 3 (05:37):
No, no, no, I just can't remember because nothing stands
up to me to Game of Thrones. It's the original
og of everything that George R. R. Martin gave the world.
So he finally sort of said, look, I'm sorry that
I don't have the final book done yet. I've had
a rough year. He's had a very rough year. He's
had a good year with the successes of those shows
because he's involved in all of that. And there's like
(05:59):
nine Emmy nominaeas for Night of the Seven Kingdoms that's
happening in September the Emmys.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
He's not actually writing those though, right these.
Speaker 5 (06:07):
Are involved, Ok, he's involved.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
But the final the last book that he gave the
world from the Game of Throne, Song of Ice and
Fire was Dances Dance, Dance with Dragons, and that was
in twenty eleven. So we've been waiting for this final
book to be published, and he said he's.
Speaker 5 (06:23):
Just not ready yet.
Speaker 3 (06:25):
It's called The Winds of Winter Ever really coming.
Speaker 4 (06:28):
We saw the show. We don't really need the.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
Actually because you saw the show, he says, you need
it because this is the ending he intended, but he hasn't.
He can't force it. He's an artist. He's like, I
can't do it just because the publisher wants it.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
He's not been well. I mean, give the man a break.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
He said he's been dealing with some depression. So will
will we ever get this book?
Speaker 5 (06:48):
Who knows up next?
Speaker 1 (06:49):
Sam is the food dude.
Speaker 4 (06:50):
You're going to introduce it to some new yummy. He's
at the grocery store.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
Sam's always up on the new eats. He's the food dude.
Speaker 4 (06:59):
You've got to cover a whole bunch of new foods
at the grocery store. Some are there, some are coming soon.
Tremani's got a new coffee creamer called Pistachio Chocolate.
Speaker 5 (07:08):
Oh, I feel like we've had one of those.
Speaker 4 (07:10):
That du buy chocolate.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
Yes, that is close to without the crunchies.
Speaker 4 (07:15):
I guess. Actor Glenn Powell, he's going to be taken
on ragu and Prego because you know his smash kitchen.
He's expanded into a tomato sauce pasta sauce good. He's
got organic tomato, basil, roasted garlic, spicy Marinera, and classic Marinera.
Speaker 3 (07:32):
I never remember that that's his food because his face
isn't on it, which.
Speaker 5 (07:35):
I can't understand.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
Like Paul Newman put his face on stuff years ago
in the grocery store.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
So if his face was on it and you saw it,
it's natural it.
Speaker 5 (07:42):
It just makes you know, oh, yeah, there's Paul.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
He's really rapidly expanding.
Speaker 4 (07:47):
This isn't yeah yeah, started out with like ketchup and mayo,
and now it's all over the place. I got a
couple of new skinny pop flavors hitting stores, truffle popcorn,
fancy popcorn, also Himalayan pink salt pop corn. Okay, what
is the deal with himalay and pink salt? Why is
it different from salt salt? Is it more salty?
Speaker 1 (08:07):
It's it has different minerals that give it that's color.
And there are people that believe that it has healing properties.
Speaker 5 (08:13):
Should have asked the pharmacist over there.
Speaker 4 (08:15):
Yeah, so I can eat popcorn and heal myself.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
I love the way Himalayan salt tastes like Max.
Speaker 4 (08:23):
Dolly Parton's got a couple of new dishes in the
freezer section, fried chicken and mac and cheese whoa and
also home style meat loaf. And by the way, the
fried chicken doesn't look like it's like a quarter of
a chicken. It looks like it's nuggets or strips. Of course,
a bowl with the mac and cheese. The folks that
Liquid Death have a couple of new ones for us,
Liquid Death cinnamon roll flavored tea.
Speaker 5 (08:44):
That sounds good.
Speaker 4 (08:45):
They partnered up with Mister Beet's Mister Beast and his Feastables,
and they have a peanut butter cup sparkling water. So
thank peanut sparkling water.
Speaker 1 (08:56):
That's really interesting to me where they're going because they
started out just about being water and the death part
of it is about death the plastic that's where that
came from. That's why it's all on in the million
I can. Yeah, but you know they've got everything now.
Speaker 4 (09:07):
It's funny as the story I found on it had
a picture of just some of the Liquid Death cans.
One of them is Mountain Don't another one is Kilbert Grape.
Speaker 5 (09:16):
Oh nice, Okay, And.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
You know you've got to be careful with them today
because some of them are energy drinks now too. It's
it's not just water.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
Yeah, you got to really read everything because there's too
much to choose from Thank You Food Dude.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
Up next, Jody has three things to know Today.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
Three things to know Today.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
Number one, the rumors are swirling that Apple's long awaited
foldable phone is going to be called the iPhone fold
That's apparently not true. Not the iPhone talking about naming
it the iPhone Ultra. It's not going to have a
telephoto camera. There's a bunch of you know, rumors swirling
around about it. It does have a smaller battery, but
(09:56):
it's going to have the largest display ever on an iPhone,
like allowing side by side app multitasking. That's basically a
double screen point of it being foldable, but not called
that called Ultra. Number two, Disney is exploring offering all
of us free ads supported streaming for Disney Plus.
Speaker 5 (10:14):
Would you consider switching to watch commercials?
Speaker 4 (10:17):
Depends on how many commercials they want to throw it
is Disney.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
Look, they reported this yesterday and discussed it on an
earnings call, and so they said, nothing specific to announce yet,
but it's definitely something they are considering for families. You know,
we have we have too many streaming choices now and
all the streamers know it. So that's why a lot
of them are revamping the plans. You have way too
many plans to choose from, so a lot of families
go give me the free one.
Speaker 4 (10:41):
Got'll be free with commercials, none like regular TV.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
Right, going back the basics. And number three football is
back tonight sort of. It's the Pro Football Hall of
Fame game the Panthers and the Cardinals. You can watch
that one on NBC and Peacock and then the ceremony
coming up Saturday. You know who's going in, Adam Vinary,
Roger Craig.
Speaker 5 (11:02):
That's Saturday.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
You're up to date. Three things to know today?
Speaker 5 (11:08):
Aren't you interested to know? What?
Speaker 3 (11:11):
Valuable things get donated all of the time to like
Goodwill and thrift stores that they're saying, wait, pay attention
to what you're donating before you do it if you don't.
Speaker 4 (11:21):
Want to lose you like a Van Gove that was
in the attic.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
Art art valuable art work, because you've got a couple
of those.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
Yeah, valuable artwork is on the list. People drop off
stuff without realizing that it's valuable.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
Those are usually the stories we hear about.
Speaker 5 (11:35):
I love those stories.
Speaker 1 (11:36):
That's tricky because you don't really know sometimes, especially if
you're like, if it belonged to your parents or somebody
else and you don't know the story behind it, if.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
You know your parents. To me, it's like, my parents
didn't have any valuable All.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
Of ours were multiple prints. We would actually be there
were so many TV shows that we would watch and go,
we've got that.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
It's called home interiors. It used to be okay. So
valuable artwork is a couple of ways. You can use
Google ends to tell you what it is, to give
you a and then there's an app. It's a free
app called Magnus in m ag in Us.
Speaker 5 (12:08):
It's like the.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
Shazam of the art world, and it's free and you
can shoot a picture of it and it'll tell you
where it came from, who it is, what it is,
and that it's whether.
Speaker 5 (12:16):
It's valuable or not.
Speaker 4 (12:17):
Man, I got to try it.
Speaker 3 (12:18):
I know it's Magnus mag in Us and thrift stores
all often get this kind and they use it too.
They're like, oh, how do we price this? Or it
maybe never even makes it to the floor. The other
thing is watches. There are a lot of brands of
watches that really hold their value. And you know, if
Grandpa had seventeen watches and you're like, ah, you know,
(12:41):
if you decide to donate them, all careful, you know,
slow the roll and check it out.
Speaker 5 (12:46):
You know it's a jeweler.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
I don't know if smart watches brought watches back in general,
because watches kind of went through a slump there when
everybody moved to phones. But smart watches now, I mean
walk through Walmart. Now you'll see a whole cassio section
against like, ooh, watches.
Speaker 5 (12:59):
Are I mean certain lux about.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
Cashiers, miss jewels.
Speaker 5 (13:07):
That's going back to your parents' artwork.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
Huh.
Speaker 3 (13:11):
Look, I notice sometimes on people to watches and it's
like they're a GPS or their tracking or it's a
health thing. I see some people wearing two sometimes. But yeah,
for valuable, valuable watches, definitely check those. Another thing that
gets donated is all kinds of jewelry, like check it,
make sure it's really if you just because you think
(13:32):
he or she didn't have any real gold or real silver,
you can check it first, and you should.
Speaker 5 (13:38):
They say check it with a magnet manet.
Speaker 4 (13:41):
Yeah, so if it's real gold, it won't attract.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
It, it won't attract it, it won't stick gold or silver,
but fake jewelry will.
Speaker 4 (13:47):
Seems like there's got to be a better way to
check that.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
The magnet test coming up next your morning pick me up,
Morning pick me up time. So in love with this
mom who has done something so cool for her two
little boys, turning the backyard, their backyard into Tyke Town.
And when I say tyke town, like the playhouses, little
(14:11):
little tykes, stuff and all that, you know that means
the world to a kid, A little house that's made
for them.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
Loved, all the little tykes, all the little cars, a
little everything.
Speaker 5 (14:20):
A little thing.
Speaker 4 (14:21):
The cart kitchen, Oh my.
Speaker 1 (14:25):
God, yeah, the kitchen's fun too, even I like the kitchen.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
They she and her two little boys found one on
the side of the road and they started It was
a plastic playhouse, and they picked it up and cleaned
it up, and they kept fighting over it.
Speaker 6 (14:39):
Here she goes, I just so happened to find a
vin pitch little takes house on the side of the
road for free at the beginning of April. I had
no intention of creating a type town as we've started
calling it now.
Speaker 3 (14:53):
So she's this brought them so much joy they were
fighting over. She thought, I need to get some more.
So she went on Facebook marketplace and found she hit
the jackpot.
Speaker 5 (15:01):
Actually she wasn't just looking for those.
Speaker 3 (15:03):
She found somebody who was a seller who had a
ton of vintage Little Tikes and Step two toys, and
so she made the deal and got this hall of playhouses.
In fact, the kid's grandfather helps her bring them, loads
them up in exchange for dairy Queen chili dogs. But
you can look her up. They went viral because she's
(15:26):
got like thirty houses and she's created this town in
their backyard.
Speaker 6 (15:30):
Landscapers are coming first thing in the morning to install
the Tyketown turnpike. So we spent today assembling new houses
we've picked up and reorganizing all the houses into a
new layoutcaper.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
I'm telling you go look at their backyard. She's got
certain themed areas like what she's a mom.
Speaker 5 (15:47):
She took it too far and I love it.
Speaker 3 (15:49):
You do that sometimes when you're a mom. Whimsical mushroom forest.
There's a pirate beach area. There's even an area fifty
one there. Yeah, and so people are now because it's viral,
sending her more stuff.
Speaker 6 (16:05):
I don't think Takedown will ever be complete. I think
It's something that we will keep finding new, fun, vintage
pieces to add to it over the years.
Speaker 5 (16:15):
So sweet. Her name is Jade.
Speaker 3 (16:17):
By the way, the only time that it will come
to an end and you will be sad, Jade, is
when your kids don't want to play with it.
Speaker 1 (16:22):
And coming up next, Jody has your Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 3 (16:27):
The latest Buzz.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 3 (16:30):
This is a fantastic Michael B. Jordan story. Maybe you've
seen it. We're going to take you inside. You know,
he just came off of his Oscar win for Sinners.
He has a lot going on. He has a film
coming out in early next year in March called The
Thomas Crown Affair.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
I've been taking risks my entire life where.
Speaker 5 (16:48):
He plays this you know art thief.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
It's in this Movie's been made before, yeah, I think
in the seventies and then again in the.
Speaker 4 (16:55):
Eighties, and this is an updated version.
Speaker 3 (16:56):
Oh my gosh, it looks like, you know, James Bond's
sort of thief movie. It looks fantastic. The thing about
him though. Reaching out to a fan, did you hear
about this lady? She's eighty nine years old. She went
viral because she put a picture of him that she
pulled from a magazine in a frame on her family
wall with all of her kids and grandkids.
Speaker 5 (17:17):
And her kids finally figured it out.
Speaker 3 (17:18):
Like wait, who's this and she's like, this is my
Hollywood grandson. It's a great picture of him, by the way,
and by the way on this story wall. It's one
of those walls where you've got a million pictures. She's
also got like civil rights leaders and Barack Obama up there. Anyway,
he reached out to her, He's thank you for the love.
He facetimed with her. The other day. He sent her
a gift a David Yerman some jewelry. I mean, that's
(17:42):
a big gift. And so they're friends now. So it
seems to me.
Speaker 5 (17:46):
Like watch her wall.
Speaker 3 (17:48):
What a cool thing for him to Thomas Crown Affair
comes out in March coming up.
Speaker 4 (17:53):
It's seven fifty three things to know today.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
Social media Connect.
Speaker 3 (17:59):
Anytime you want to jump in on something you've heard
us talking about, add something to this conversation. Please, we
love to have you eight seven seven three one zero
four MSJ. And if we're not here, you can always
leave us a voice memo.
Speaker 7 (18:14):
Walmart has had quiet hours for almost a year now.
The radio goes off White House, the lights go down,
and it stays that way. I believe it's from nine
until eleven and then everything comes back up. Okay, hope
you guys have a great day. I just wanted to tell.
Speaker 5 (18:32):
You, thank you.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
We're talking about Sephora having quiet hours across the world now,
and you know it's different hours every day, just like
a two hour block.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
Why is that a thing? Just so I understand, it's.
Speaker 5 (18:45):
For those who are neuro divergent.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
Okay, it's for those two stimulus autism ADHD. There's a
lot of things that fall under that umbrella. But a
lot of people are finding that it's wonderful for them
no matter what, without you know, ever having any sort
of diagnosis.
Speaker 1 (19:03):
That would be peaceful, you know, correct, going to shop
at the library.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
To me, I've never been into one of these stores
when they were in quiet hours that I know of.
Speaker 1 (19:13):
But I've never been in a Walmart in quiet hour.
Let me just say for sure.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
Sometime last year, Walmart started slowly but surely redoing some
of the stores.
Speaker 5 (19:24):
I was walking across the store.
Speaker 3 (19:26):
And I noticed the lighting changed and I felt like
I was in an apartment store. Walking through the clothing
section there was a mannequin and it was just subtle,
but enough to go, WHOA Am I in Walmart?
Speaker 4 (19:38):
Still, so it was like different lighting in different parts
of the store.
Speaker 3 (19:41):
Yes, and I thought, this is lovely. Why not do
this all the time to make these stores more pleasant
to be in?
Speaker 1 (19:50):
Wow, you got a lot of Walmarts to do that with.
What I have noticed in a number of Walmarts is
they've changed the acoustics. Okay, and that's something that I
would notice too. It doesn't feel as cavern us in there,
and it's not as so that to me. And even
if you don't do quiet hours right, it makes it
a little bit more comfortable to be in s intimate feeling.
Speaker 3 (20:08):
Yeah, And apparently during quiet hours the lighting goes down
to I'm going to hope you can see everything that
you need to buy.
Speaker 5 (20:15):
But still it is a.
Speaker 3 (20:16):
Lovely idea which it would be nice to see that
expanded even more than just two hours per day.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
Coming up next, Jody has three things to note today.
Speaker 2 (20:26):
Here's three things to know today.
Speaker 5 (20:27):
Number One.
Speaker 3 (20:28):
In the world of dating, apparently there's a three six
nine rule, So right around three months is the honeymoon
phase for that first three when you're getting to know
each other and you can't wait to see each other
again and so exciting. It's three to six months. It's
the conflict phase. You've had enough time to see each
other's habits and imperfections and you have some disagreements whatever.
Speaker 4 (20:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (20:48):
And then at the six to nine month.
Speaker 4 (20:50):
Phase, I've had enough of this.
Speaker 5 (20:51):
It's the decision phase.
Speaker 3 (20:53):
You've had enough real life situations where you evaluate is
this going to go forward or do I drop it?
Speaker 5 (20:57):
Three six nine dating rule Apparently it's really universal.
Speaker 3 (21:01):
Number two, August is the time to buy school supplies
because they were on you know, there's dropping in price
now kids shoes, even laptops, and if you can pair
it with a back to school discount or even a
tax holiday good week. Well you should not buy in
August TVs wait till like October or Black Friday, and
(21:22):
don't buy new fall clothing yet it is not gone
on sale yet.
Speaker 5 (21:26):
Yeah, okay.
Speaker 3 (21:27):
And number three you're looking for some extra work soon.
Spirit Halloween is hiring for Spooky season fifty two thousand
seasonal associates.
Speaker 5 (21:36):
They're looking for store managers, sales associates and zone managers.
Speaker 3 (21:41):
I'm thinking you could be in charge of like the
Vampire area or the Michael Myers Jason area, the DID zone.
They're even looking for regional managers Spirit Halloween.
Speaker 2 (21:52):
You're up to date. Three things to know today, guys.
Speaker 4 (21:58):
My eighty seven year old mom, Miss Duty, had to
go to the emergency room again.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
Oh really the last time? That was so hip that
last year she broke her hip. She's all good with that, okay.
She was at church after church on sun this past Sunday.
She was hanging out handing out food to folks because
they you know, they have the boxes of food that
they have it. And she turned too quickly and slipped
(22:24):
and fell and she heard a crack and I was like,
oh no, she's telling me that's on the phone. They
helped her up. It turns out there was nothing broke.
It wasn't the hip or anything else. But one of
the people said, hey, you got some blood on the
back of your head. Oh, you need to go to
the hospital. And of course she's like, I'm fine, let's
get back to work.
Speaker 5 (22:45):
Of course, that is the way she is.
Speaker 4 (22:48):
It gets it gets better. Somebody took her to the hospital,
and they wound up putting a They did X rays
and all that nothing, you know, Yeah, That'sy had cracked
a joke, like they did they find anything in your head? Yeah?
But they had to put four staples in her head?
Speaker 5 (23:04):
Oh wow, staples?
Speaker 1 (23:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (23:06):
Why not stitches? Like what's the difference.
Speaker 4 (23:08):
I don't know why they used to. I'm not a doctor, okay,
and I don't play one on TV. But she said
when they told her that, she says, oh, I got
a stapler at home. I could have done that.
Speaker 1 (23:18):
That's awesome.
Speaker 4 (23:20):
Family since there, So when she's leaving, they gave her
it was the emergency room. They gave her some kind
of little tool and they told her, look, when you
go to your doctor to have the staples taken out,
they may not have the ability to do it. So
here's the tool that they do it with.
Speaker 5 (23:35):
Of course, she's not going to go to the doctor
to do it. She's going to do it.
Speaker 4 (23:38):
I could just take this home and do it myself.
Speaker 5 (23:41):
Has she done it yet?
Speaker 3 (23:43):
No?
Speaker 4 (23:43):
They told her, I do not do that yourself. Go
to your doctor.
Speaker 3 (23:48):
Do they understand they're giving it to Judy. The Judy
can do anything.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
So they gave her the tool to give to her
doctor when she I don't even know what the tool is.
Speaker 4 (23:57):
Look, there's there's usually some kind of miska stay remover.
You know, there's probably some part.
Speaker 1 (24:02):
Of the communication that I'm not getting there kind of
a thing like that takes the tags off a clothes
so you don't stay a little.
Speaker 4 (24:09):
It's exactly like that. She got it from a department
store and she's bringing it to a doc.
Speaker 5 (24:14):
When is she supposed to have them taken out?
Speaker 4 (24:16):
It's either the end of this week or the first
thing next week. It wasn't. She wasn't supposed to have
been her head for more than a week.
Speaker 5 (24:20):
Okay, can she feel them back there? She washes her
hair ibots, so I don't know.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
She's okay, she's fine.
Speaker 5 (24:26):
You doubted her, like you on the ask what's her name? Yeah?
What day is it? What do you know?
Speaker 3 (24:33):
What year? It is?
Speaker 5 (24:34):
Actually questions as she.
Speaker 4 (24:36):
Called me to tell me it was my brother's birthday,
to remind me, and you knew. I was like, mom,
I already took care of that.
Speaker 3 (24:42):
Okay, get well, miss Judy, don't take those out yourself.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
Please? Coming up, Jody has another Hollywood outsider.
Speaker 3 (24:51):
We were talking earlier about that mom Jade who created
Tyke Town in her backyard for her little boys. They
had picked up this, you know, little Tyke playhouse on
the side of the road, cleaned it up, put it
in the backyard, and they were fighting over it. So
she went on Facebook marketplace and got a bunch more
and now she's created this whole like she has more
than thirty little houses, and she's got she's making landscaping,
(25:11):
and she's the whole world back there. And I thought
that is something that I could relate to as a mother.
There are certain things you ever heard that statement that
motherhood is a mental illness? There were times when you
would get obsessed with finding something for your kid, or
do you just go down a path and you can't
stop Murphy.
Speaker 5 (25:30):
I could see me doing that.
Speaker 1 (25:32):
I could identify with that.
Speaker 5 (25:37):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (25:37):
It's like, if one of them was fun and two
is fun, why not just build a whole wonderland. I
could have become obsessed with doing that just for the
kids thing.
Speaker 1 (25:47):
It would be fun to create that kind of wonderland.
Speaker 5 (25:49):
Never thought of doing that.
Speaker 1 (25:50):
There's a certain amount of I've keep though, depending on
what climate you're in, you know, because you're gonna have
algae and clean up. And you know what I mean
by trying of water down, I'm just saying, there's a
maintenance to.
Speaker 4 (25:59):
The grasses go around it. You gotta weed eat that
stuff wasps, Yeah.
Speaker 5 (26:03):
I know, And we didn't do it. We didn't have it.
We had a trampoline, which the girls loved, and they
did have.
Speaker 1 (26:09):
How many wonderful stories they tell from the childhood about
the trampoline ton even when it wound up with a
dangerous hole in it right before we got rid.
Speaker 3 (26:16):
Of it, hung upside down from the hole one time
accidentally jumping up and one of.
Speaker 1 (26:21):
Our dogs used to love to get up there, and
I think one of his nails got stuck in it
one time.
Speaker 5 (26:26):
And so he was a boxer and he loved to
jump on a trampoline. He was one of those.
Speaker 1 (26:30):
It was wild. I mean, he literally loved to jump
on the trampoline.
Speaker 3 (26:34):
But I just think it's just one of those things
that I love that people are finding them online now
and none of them need to go to waste. Those
things can be cleaned up and redone and last forever
and bring a lot of joy that's.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
The same kind of thing I think that inspires people,
like if they're in the model trains and they build
a whole village out of it. People in Christmas Village
is all of that kind of thing.
Speaker 3 (26:54):
But this is for children, and it's a short season
that they're going to love it. There will be a
time where they don't care about that anymore.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
I mean you need to have an exit plan.
Speaker 3 (27:02):
Yeah, Facebook, marketplace like recycle those, upcycle them or whatever.
Speaker 1 (27:07):
Which, when you think about it, is exactly what Jade did.
She found it on the side of the road. Instead
of it going like in a landvill she recycled.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
The beauty of it is that kids know exactly at
the moment they see it that it's for them. Yeah,
coming up next your Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 2 (27:24):
Trending now, Jody's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 3 (27:26):
It's coming a Gilmore Girls documentary.
Speaker 5 (27:30):
If you're to HBO, Max.
Speaker 3 (27:33):
Let me just say something to you right here and
sit down. I've never watched it, and when I say
that to people, it's always like, what.
Speaker 4 (27:42):
I can't remember how many seasons in I made it
before I had enough, which she went to college, and
after that.
Speaker 3 (27:46):
You had enough, meaning you had just binged the same
show too much.
Speaker 4 (27:50):
Because I did it too much too soon. I think
it wasn't stretched out over years, it was stretched out
over months.
Speaker 3 (27:56):
Okay, it's Warner Brothers Television working on it's the first
ever reel behind the scenes. Look, everybody's gonna be a
part of it, cast and crew, reflecting on the lasting
impact you're gonna get never before seen outtakes, behind the
scenes footage and much much more cool. Don't know when,
but we'll keep our eye on it for you, and
between now and then, you could always jump on. It's
(28:16):
one of those that I, yeah, it's like on a
list somewhere that I need to.
Speaker 4 (28:21):
Watch this, and it's always streaming.
Speaker 3 (28:23):
Speaking of a documentary, here's another one that's gonna come.
Leonardo DiCaprio teaming up with Jeff Bezos for one called
Endangered Species. It's a whole documentary of project focused on
wildlife conservation and biodiversity about threatened species.
Speaker 4 (28:40):
Doesn't Leo isn't he involved in some kind of tiger rescue.
Speaker 3 (28:43):
He created a couple of foundations and he's got money
behind it. So this is a documentary in a project
that has real cash behind it.
Speaker 5 (28:50):
With these two.
Speaker 2 (28:51):
Yeah, Sam Scott Music Music.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
You know.
Speaker 4 (28:55):
Earlier this year, Don Hanley of the Eagles said twenty
twenty six most likely the last year the Eagles are
going to perform, and they've added more and more dates
to their Sphere residency up and through December. Well, apparently
twenty twenty six won't be the last year because they've
now added twenty twenty seven dates and no four dates
(29:16):
in January.
Speaker 3 (29:17):
They're doing that because they're enjoying it and they can.
Speaker 5 (29:20):
It's not like they you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (29:24):
He seems like the kind of person if he says
it's over, he's gonna stop. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (29:28):
And plus it's not like they're traveling.
Speaker 1 (29:29):
It's yeah, they're at the Spear. They're dedicating one place.
I'm sure that's been the biggest game changer for them.
You know.
Speaker 4 (29:35):
Tickets will go and sale for the four dates in
January August fourteenth, which is next Friday. I do have
some voice news for you from NBC. We're getting a
new kind of voice. It's gonna be called the Voice.
Speaker 1 (29:48):
Celebrity already has celebrities.
Speaker 4 (29:51):
Oh no, no, no, no, perform the celebrity. They're gonna have
celebrity judges, but also celebrities performing, people who sing already singers, sports,
you know, athletes, folks that act in movies, you.
Speaker 1 (30:03):
Know, and are they being judged.
Speaker 4 (30:05):
That This is kind of like Dancing with the Stars.
Speaker 5 (30:07):
Get the Voice, can't you get a chair turn?
Speaker 4 (30:09):
Yeah? And so we know that Kiki Palmer is going
to be the host of this version, not Carson Dally.
But here are the coaches. Joe Jonas is going to
be coaching.
Speaker 5 (30:21):
That's good for the Voice.
Speaker 4 (30:21):
That's his first time ever getting in the red chair.
Speaker 3 (30:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (30:24):
Also, Queen Latifa is going to be one of the coaches,
and Riley Green it was this girl.
Speaker 5 (30:30):
Yeah, that's a big deal for them too.
Speaker 1 (30:32):
So the same red chairs, the same stage, just a
different concept.
Speaker 4 (30:36):
Just a bunch of different people performing people who may
already know how to sing. Of course, that would be it,
you know, like a ringer, wouldn't it?
Speaker 3 (30:43):
Not necessarily? If they're all good, then who performs at
the best, who you know, interprets it the best?
Speaker 4 (30:49):
That'll be in twenty twenty seven, that will see it
this fall is the thirtieth season of The Regular Voice
on Queen Latifa and Riley Green are both coaches on
that one as well, and you've seen probably the last
of Jelly Roll for the next year or two.
Speaker 1 (31:03):
You ain't nothing better enough.
Speaker 4 (31:05):
You've thought this the other night out at the concert,
he ended his tour with a post malone and he said,
you know, he told the crowd, he says, this is
my last show for a year or two. I'm taking
some time off to heel. He didn't elaborate on what
it was, but I mean he's just been going and
going and going, and plus he just had the divorce
get finalized with him.
Speaker 5 (31:23):
He does need to stop. Like Ari.
Speaker 2 (31:27):
Here's three things to know today.
Speaker 3 (31:29):
Number One, if you want to bff, apparently you have
to put the time in. They say making a new
best friend takes some time forty to sixty hours to
form a casual friendship, eighty to one hundred to become
actual friends, and then more than two hundred hours together
to develop a close friendship. Okay, they've tracked it literally,
you know, spend time together in places you enjoy.
Speaker 4 (31:49):
You have to cram all that into one week or No.
Speaker 5 (31:52):
It takes time to make a friend. That's the point.
Number two.
Speaker 3 (31:56):
If you've always wanted a tattoo, but you cannot handle
the pain of knee. There's a British startup company that
wants to change it. They developed the world's first painless
permanent tattoo system, uses a patch with these microscopic needles,
putting the pigment into the upper layers of your skin
instead of a traditional tattoo gun. You leave the patch
(32:17):
on for like fifteen minutes and the design becomes fully
visible in one to two days. There are some limitations
that can only be small and only black ink so far,
and only at the company's London location right now.
Speaker 5 (32:30):
But that's new technology.
Speaker 4 (32:32):
That's the easy way out, okay.
Speaker 3 (32:35):
And number three, of course, you know Spider Man still
killing it at the box office.
Speaker 1 (32:40):
What is happening to me?
Speaker 3 (32:41):
This movie made one billion dollars in six days. But
coming up this weekend, just so you know, we've got
a couple of new ones. We'll tell you about those tomorrow,
including a horror movie called ice Cream Man.
Speaker 2 (32:54):
You're in the note Three things to know Today
