My daughter is currently studying aeronautical science at Imbrey Riddle
University in Daytona Beach. Her goal is to become a

This is her freshman year. She's just about to finish
her PPL and moved to move to her next certification
in instrumentation. It's a four year program and it's pretty tough.

Sam. You know what. The PPL is, Personal pirate pilot's license,
Private pilot pilot. So close, so close. Sara was an
acronym guy.
Speaker 3 (00:53):

I'm very proud of her and her accomplishments. She's always
been fascinated with airports and languages, so I think she
eventually would like to do trans continental Wow.

Okay, called those are the big jets seven seven's in
the Dream Murder to speak at Jennifer the airbuses.

She called on Easter.

And was excited that she had done a pretty tough
flight with wind conditions and there were no other planes
within twenty two miles of her, which is rare, and
she got a pretty high score on that day.

The neat part about the program at Embury Riddle is
that once you get your degree and pass all certifications,
you can continue and get your masters for free if
you want to become a flight instructor.

The route she's going to go. It's definitely neat and
I'm looking forward to free flights. Lol.

my students about a variety of careers, so being able
to tell them about this one is really cool. I
actually had my daughter come in on one of her
breaks and talk to my and talk to my students
about this degree. You're right, Jodi, and guys, not many
are aware of this kind of career, especially females.

I think that is wonderful. And you know, our youngest
daughter Phoebe's boyfriend Stuart is doing the same thing. He's
already got his private pilot's license and he's working on
his commercial in college right now.

And you know, it's funny because I've always thought that
Phoebe would be a great pilot. I mean, she's remember
when she was like three years old and she was
flying drawn runs.

Yes, she could fly the drone better than.

Me with accuracy, accuracy, very precise.

And I think the reason, Jennifer says, and we had said,
you know, especially females and girls, is because it's not
to you know, overlook boys in any way, shape or form.
But you know, when I was growing up, it was
never something that I was encouraged to do anything outside
of the norm for me.

Yeah, that's weird. It wouldn't be considered a career option.
And there was no reason that shouldn't have been considered.

Do you guys know about the trend of sleep maxing? It?
San actually lives on social media.

It's all over the place and you can see the
hashtags sleep maxing with two axes. It's just all these
people who are in search of the perfect sleep routine
and all the basics that they're doing that are science based,
all the things, you know, plus all the extras that
they're adding. The extras are not science based. You know,
they may not work, It could be hokey. And there
are some things that are not even recommended when sleep maxing.

So let's start with the.

Proven, science based stuff we know works for when you're
trying to really get get into a good sleep routine. Okay,
sleep does look give it credit. It is important to
get good sleep well.

Yeah, because it is restorative.

Thank you. Restorative or restorative too.

It does both.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
Restorative works, Murphy. I love that you said that.

Okay, So the basics sleeping in a cool, dark place, yeah,
limiting screen time before and exposure to bright lights before bed. Uh,
no alcohol or caffeine several hours before going to bed.
Those are the science based. Having a regular sleep time,
regular time to go to bed, and regular time to
get up. It all gets your body in the right

rhythm for the right sleep. The stuff that's just hacks
that you're seeing now that.

You know. Fans in the rooms that work for somebody
for some people, waited blankets.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
The fan in the room works for me and you,
Jody Oh, sleep sounds, the rain sounds.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
Yeah, that does work for us. That's that's psychological though.
I mean, if I was tired, I could sleep in silence.
But the use of supplements like melatonin and magnesium, that
doesn't work for everybody.

Magnetesium works.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
I take magnesium at night.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
Magnesium is good for muscles, but I don't know why
it helps you to be in the sleep supposedly, And
you know the thing about melatonin, you gotta be careful.
Most of the over the countermelotonin supplements are more than
what the body naturally produces. Yeah, so's it's it's almost
too much. And some people want up what they call
a melotone and hangover where you're just in a fog.

Yeah. I don't want to mess with my body's natural things.
But I also sometimes it will help. So you have
to sort of test out what works for you. And
if you look into sleep max and you'll find out
what what's working for some people.

Some people eat Kiwi.

Before going to bed, because it supposedly, you know, kicks
in some relaxation real naturally in you. It's not science backed, okay,
it's it's a sleep pack and the other things you
got to be careful of. Some people are saying that
they mouth tape so that they.

Oh, yeah, that's wine.

That's not smart. Using nostril expanders so you can breathe.
This is a real look. It's social media. That's why
it's ludicrous. Good luck though, this keeps coming up and
it's valuable information. How to save on a wedding. It's
one of the most expensive events that you can ever

be responsible for paying the bill for. And so if
you can save money, we're always going to shout out
out for you. It doesn't matter if you're a first
time bride, second third, it doesn't matter for family or
groom or whatever. Okay, So how to save on a wedding.
And we had talked about this a little bit. Midweek
weddings like get married on a Wednesday or Thursday instead
of the Saturday night thing.

That's more expensive for venues.

Especially if you want to limit attendance. That's a tough night.

Backyard wedding your friend with the nicest backyard. You know,
ask a favor, brunch.

Weddings. People are doing just you know, thinking outside of
the typical wedding box.

found dresses for my girls and myself at Nordstrom rack.

And his family helped with everything. Ten brothers and sisters
whoa My friend made the cake.

As a gift. That's a great gift.

If you have a friend who does that and can
do that, let that be the wedding gift to you.
You got a wedding cake boom. We were on a
very tight budget, but it was beautiful. His sister did
all of the flowers too. We've been married for thirty
five years, all right, it's very very cool. Vicky said,
my parents got our alcohol on a cruise in the Caribbean.

What is that? Yeah, they got it.

Oh, I didn't.

Get a cheap down there. They carted it back up
here and then had used it for the wedding.

Okay, is it that much cheaper?

I don't know. When you and I went on the
cruise a long time ago that we did. I didn't
see a big savings and difference on that. But whatever.

Vicky also said we had friends Bartend smart Shack, like,
think of your friend and family group and what they
could do. Maybe they'd be willing to do that. We
won our cake at a wedding show.

I had my girls wear different colored dresses from a
wedding store that were on clearance. Man, VICKI way to
go love these ideas. Susan said, my third marriage and
my dress was thirty six.

Dollars, but it didn't look like that.

That's right. You didn't even have to tell us that.

soon get out of Texas and start traveling and collecting
from all the national parks.

We were just talking about this the other day that
it's Americans are finding that they are traveling into all
of the national parks.

We just came back from Palladero and that is one

but after you buy you first, then you know what

But yeah, kingsize bed is a must. Who have no
getting small dogs that share our queen and it is
a lot.

going through her things.

Why because Jody's got probably maybe four times as many
clothes and certainly more shoes than me. Okay, yeah, it's

I'm just saying it's a fantastic thing, overwhelming. I constantly
clean out and straighten so that I can actually see
what I have. Anyway, I went to a really nice
estate sale the other day, and my overtime learn. What
I learned is I go to the jewelry first, a
state sell jewelry.

I look at that first.

And then the second place I go in the house
is the woman's closet because if it's open, sometimes that's
like off limits area. But this closet was wide open,
and it's a big walking closet, and I could tell
right off the bat she had really great taste, beautiful

choices and classic pieces and designer labels, and so I.

I'm like, oh, here I am.

And I was the only one in there because everybody
else is worrying with the furniture in the kitchen.

And no, you're not.

That's impressive, though, because you know, sometimes it's not about taste.
Sometimes it's about the era, you know what I mean?

This is very up to date clothing. And anyway, I
started looking through and I did buy few things. She
had one hundred belts to choose from. It was so
much fun to go through. But I started going through
the tops and the dresses, and I realized she had
every size. She had smalls, she had mediums, she had larges,
she had extra larges, and I realized you can't walk

into somebody's closet and assume, oh, they're small. I'm out
of here because I'm a large or whatever. She's a woman.
She has kept things from every era in her life
before she had children, you know, after having children, trying
to lose baby weight, losing the weight, and then oh, menopause.

Every era of size she had.

So there were some other ladies who came in and
left quickly because they thought it wasn't their size.

And I'm like, oh, you kept your mouth shut. No,
I told them come back.

very tight budget, but it was beautiful. His sister did
all of the flowers too. We've been married for thirty
five years, all right, it's very very cool. Vicky said,
my parents got our alcohol on a cruise in the Caribbean.

Oh, I didn't.

Get a cheap down there. They carted it back up
here and then had used it for the wedding.

Okay, is it that much cheaper?

I don't know. When you and I went on the
cruise a long time ago that we did. I didn't
see a big savings and difference on that. But whatever.

You were also drinking again, I was.

Vicky also said we had friends Bartend smart Shack, like,
think of your friend and family group and what they
could do. Maybe they'd be willing to do that. We
won our cake at a wedding show.

Oh that's cool.

I had my girls wear different colored dresses from a
wedding store that were on clearance. Man, VICKI way to
go love these ideas. Susan said, my third marriage and
my dress was thirty six.

Dollars, but it didn't look like that.

That's right. You didn't even have to tell us that.

talking about collections. My wife and I travel. We just
bought an RV last year and we'll can travel into
all the state parks of Texas well. Right now we're
collecting magnets from Texas state parks and we hope to
soon get out of Texas and start traveling and collecting
from all the national parks.

We were just talking about this the other day that
it's Americans are finding that they are traveling into all
of the national parks.

Finally they're finally, I guess it's popular again.

We just came back from Palladero and that is one
of the most beautiful places I feel like in the world.

best show. I don't like talk shows, I don't like
radio hosts, but y'all make my drive and the rest

Get comfortable being cramped. We bought on a whim, and
but after you buy you first, then you know what

getting small dogs that share our queen and it is
a lot.

he's just suggested it. And hello enters Dolly Parton, because
we all know that Dolly Partner wrote.

really well made and really well done.

And it's like some people are going to be upset
about this, like why touch it? Yeah, but then again,
this is a classic story. It's a crazy good story.
I don't see any problem with putting modern twist on

Right. No casting has been announced yet, but.

The person who did the Eras Tour directing is directing it,
and they've got some screenwriters on it already. So maybe
a famous lady voice. Who knows, But Warner brother says
it is official. A new bodyguard is coming. There's something
that's true, a truth about most women's closets that you

may not realize until you're in a woman's closet and
going through her things.

Okay, well, which and I don't do that. Our rule
is there's no reason for me to go in your closet, Jody.

I don't think we've ever had a rule. But no,
you don't go on my closet.

No, it's a little intimidating. Oh why is that?

Why because Jody's got probably maybe four times as many
clothes and certainly more shoes than me. Okay, yeah, it's
not a bad thing.

I'm just saying it's a fantastic thing, overwhelming. I constantly
clean out and straighten so that I can actually see
what I have. Anyway, I went to a really nice
estate sale the other day, and my overtime learn. What
I learned is I go to the jewelry first, a
state sell jewelry.

I look at that first.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
And then the second place I go in the house
is the woman's closet because if it's open, sometimes that's
like off limits area. But this closet was wide open,
and it's a big walking closet, and I could tell
right off the bat she had really great taste, beautiful

choices and classic pieces and designer labels, and so I.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
I'm like, oh, here I am.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
And I was the only one in there because everybody
else is worrying with the furniture in the kitchen.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
Did you shut the door behind you?
Speaker 3 (13:44):
And no, you're not.
Speaker 1 (13:47):
That's impressive, though, because you know, sometimes it's not about taste.
Sometimes it's about the era, you know what I mean?
So oh no, no, sometimes the clothing is not up to date.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
This is very up to date clothing. And anyway, I
started looking through and I did buy few things. She
had one hundred belts to choose from. It was so
much fun to go through. But I started going through
the tops and the dresses, and I realized she had
every size. She had smalls, she had mediums, she had larges,
she had extra larges, and I realized you can't walk
(14:19):
into somebody's closet and assume, oh, they're small. I'm out
of here because I'm a large or whatever. She's a woman.
She has kept things from every era in her life
before she had children, you know, after having children, trying
to lose baby weight, losing the weight, and then oh, menopause.
Speaker 3 (14:35):
Every era of size she had.
Speaker 2 (14:38):
So there were some other ladies who came in and
left quickly because they thought it wasn't their size.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
And I'm like, oh, you kept your mouth shut. No,
I told them come back.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
It's so every era it's still all in style.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
Most of it was sort of yes, most of it was.
She was a modern lady.
