Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Murphy Salmon Jody Daily Show podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
When your child calls you and tells you they need
to talk to you about something, you wonder what's wrong.
And then this was our youngest Phoebe. It was several
days ago. She called and talked to me and I thought, man,
what did I do? What did I say? And it
was something that we spoke about here on the show,
but it was like, I need to talk to dad.

(00:26):
She worked on me first before she spoke to Murphy.
You want to let Samon on what you did.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
So and it was legitimate. And look, I love that
our daughters are comfortable coming to talk tell us to
us about anything. They're confident enough to talk about it,
but always careful because they're literally critiquing what we're doing here,
which is fine, you know what I'm saying. We're kind
of in the court of public opinion on everything we
do anyways, and so their concern was really just about

(00:53):
AI and I think that they misheard something that we
were talking about in the podcast Slight lastly day Taylor
and Phoebe.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
After the show podcast where we were you were sharing
the ways that you I was not sharing the.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Way I was doing anything we were. This was the
Pope conversation where the Pope made the recommendation. I guess
that AI companions were something that were a concern for
the future, of course, and so we were just demonstrating
how those work with GROC right now, and you can
see how people get sucked into it. So I wasn't advocating.
But bottom line is bottom line is what she was.

(01:26):
Phoebe was concerned about is that it sounds like we're
endorsing and supporting that, and she's very much against AI
and Taylor is becoming a professional counselor. Their concern is
not they understand the tools part. Their concern is about companionship.
They don't like the you talk to AI and it
talks back to you factor, which I respect, you know,

(01:47):
I mean, I really understand what they're saying, and so I,
you know, I assured them that that's not We're not
endorsing any of it. We just talked about how we
use things, right.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
I said that several times, like we're in fact a Phoebe,
I don't like it, you know, I don't use it.
Your dad's the one, no, no, no, she said, She said,
I know he uses it. Lots, and I'm going to
talk to him, but I wanted to talk to you first,
you know, because I kind of wanted to war them
up with you on this com.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
She was also concerned that, you know, because you said
your son Sammy uses it instead of Google now, you know.
And and her concern was, if you just rely on
this one source of information, and look, AI is quite inaccurate.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
It is really inaccurate lately.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
I don't know if you've read, but the latest enhancements
that chat GBT made back in January, a lot of
people are reporting how error filled it is right now
and error prone it is. So she's right about.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
That parts from FEBEs right.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
And for the record, I mean, we're not advocating using
the companions. If you want to, that's great, you know now,
I will tell you it works great for organizing your day.
That's just me, you know.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
He Phoebe's going to give you.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
A call coming up in six fifty. Jody has three
things to know today and next. Sam is the food dude.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
But you know where you can find doctor pepper infused
brought worst this weekend.

Speaker 4 (03:02):
Sam's always up on the new eats. He's the food dude.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Got some wacky flavors to start with. Uh, doctor Pepper
Broughtwurst are landing this weekend and all the big supermarkets.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Well, I will say that doctor Pepper is a very
good flavor for meat. It's just.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
It's the brought Worst that's doctor Pepper flavored. Yeah, not
the Doctor Pepper. I was confused there for a second.
Yea meat McCann.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
I used to marinate tinderloins in.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
Doctor which is delicious.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
I've cooked in doctor pepper and root beer you cook
and coke and all that stuff. But this is actually
uh Johnsonville Broughtworst infused with doctor Pepper.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
That's good.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
See what that trial like, I said, Sunday, they're going
to be hitting stores. Trader Joe's has a new potato
chip uh thie style yellow curry potato chips.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
Until you said curry, Yeah that's what I'm thinking.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
Yeah, it's polarizing. People either love it and crave it
or it's like too much.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Yeah, here's one for your lips from ELF. The ELF
cosmetic brand is Lip's face.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
That's what ELF means. Oh, oh does it really Welcome
to the party, gentlemen.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
Oh, they have a new glow Revivor, melting lip bomb,
Dill pickle flavor.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Oh, we gotta get it for FIBs.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
It's greener, and but when you put it on it,
you know, the greenst it doesn't normal.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Usually if it's a color changing thing on lips. Here's
something you guys don't know. It's based on your own
pH So if you put it on me, it would
look different than on you.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
Okay, So yeah, I told you Murphy Old Day seasoning
bagel chips.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Oh that makes sense. Yeah, yeah, it's real time right.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
Okay for that, Yeah, me too, because us makes a
delicious Old Day Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
The Dole whip, you know the stuff they sell at Disney. Yes,
they started last year selling it at grocery stores. And
the little single syrup cups you know, like you get
for birthday parties.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
Huh.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
Well they're now up the game, and now you can
get it in pints okay, well almost pints. It's like
fourteen points something mounces, but pineapple flavor, mango flavor, and
tropical guava passion flavor.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Like being a Disney World, you can also mix that
into stuff just saying I mean drinks, not smoothies too.
It doesn't have to be alcoholic.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
You can put your mouse ears on and eat it. Yea.
And I would be remiss if I didn't bring up
and promote pizza for right now because Domino's has his
nine ninety nine off or any pizza, any topping through
the entire month of March. Oh nice doesn't work on
extra larger specialty pizzas. But get a large pizza put
seven toppings on it ten bucks? Why not beat that deal?

Speaker 2 (05:28):
You cannot thank you food dude.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
Coming up next, Jody has your Hollywood.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
Outsider the Latest Buzz. Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
I've got news about this Showtime show that a lot
of people are hooked on, and it's called Yellow Jackets.
We agree, say no more than we have to.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
He truth says. The plane crash, A bunch of my
friends died.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
You guys, ever watched this and chop into this at all?
That's about Well, it's about a girls soccer team, a
really talented team, and they get on a plane to
go somewhere and they crash. And that's why I never
watched it. You lost me a plane crash and that's
a big part of the show. But there's all kinds
of crazy stuff that happens to survivors and stuff like that.

(06:13):
And one of the main actresses, who's one of my
It's a psychological show, a thriller drama show series. It
started in twenty twenty one. I've never dug into it
because of the plane crash, but Juliette Lewis is a
star of it, and she's fantastic. Anything she does makes
me excited.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
Isn't kind of a comeback roll? Or she just always
been around?

Speaker 2 (06:33):
I guess a comeback roll to me. She's never gone away.
But the word is you guys are going to be interested. Now.
I just want you to know. Say, I'm there working
on the final the final season, and guess who's signed
on and is playing an important role on a d
armis Molly Ringwalk.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
Oh wow, wow, I.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Know you're going to watch it now.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
What's the date on that again?

Speaker 2 (06:54):
It's currently in production. I'll get you to date the
date for Molly as soon as I can.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
Coming up next, it is Grateful Friday.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
It is Grateful Friday. Your chance this is you have
the floor to celebrate anything you are grateful for. And
if you miss us, you can always leave us a message.
Eight seven seven three one zero four ms. J.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
Yeah, let's check the twenty four hour voicemail.

Speaker 5 (07:19):
Hello, my name is Mee.

Speaker 6 (07:20):
I'm calling for Grateful Friday. I'm and nanny the three kids, Luke, Hannon,
Sadie and I have been for a year and a
half and I'm just so so grateful for all the
time we spent together making art, hanging out in their woods,
riding bikes, and they've taught me so much about myself
and just about life, and i just want to give
them a shout out and say I'm so thankful for them.

(07:41):
I'm actually moving on to my own business soon and
my time is coming to an end with them, and
I'm just so grateful for my time with them as
a nimmy. Have you guys have a great weekend.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
Thank you Maddie for leaving that voicemail.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
What a great nanny you were. Arts and hanging out
in the woods.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
Hanging out in the woods is always fun.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
That sparks me. I hung out in the woods a
lot when I was a little girl. There were woods
right across the street from us Murphy Has. We've driven
by my house I grew up in and I always
point out the woods don't I like, this is where
I would ride my bike. And the thing about it's
not that all kids belong in the woods. You know,
some some parents are not go with your kids going
in the woods. You'll have seen a lot of horror movies.

(08:19):
But as soon as I was not at the in
the driveway or not in my house anymore, but I
was in the woods, it was my world. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
Yeah, we'd clear a little path to you know, little spot.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
An adult, you create a little like this is my
house and you're driving riding your bikes. It's magical.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
We used to make BMX trails, little ones and we
clear it out, like Murphy said, and somebody would put
a tree down, put some mud on it.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
It's like, oh we got to jump, okay, always jumping
your bike.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
What I love about what Mattie's saying there also reminds
me it's a little bit bittersweet when you find that
babysitter or nanny or whomever and you have them for
a little while and then they have to move on.
It's like a family member leaving.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
Yes, I mean a lot to your family and hopefully
those kids will remember you finally, and then you'll come
back and visit someday. I hope that you will, Maddie. Yeah,
so cool. It's Grateful Friday. You can also send us
what you're grateful for to Murphy Samanjody dot com.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Coming up next, Jody has three things to know today.

Speaker 4 (09:21):
Here's three things to know today.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Number one, So what should go in America's two hundred
and fiftieth anniversary time capsule? This won't be opened again
until the year twenty two seventy six, on America's five
hundredth birthday. There are now plans to bury one this
time capsule at near Phillies Independence Hall. They know an
American flag will go in. They know some government documents

(09:45):
will go in. They haven't said what else. iPhone, I
mean something technology is based right, Apparently they're going to
reveal all these capsule contents in June. Okay. Number two,
twenty twenty six's biggest baby was born in a New
York hospital in upstate New York. Did you see this baby?
Brand new baby, weighing thirteen pounds. He's already wearing clothes

(10:08):
and diapers for a six month old. His name is
Little Sean Junior, but he's the biggest baby to ever
be born at that hospital, and then hours later the
smallest baby, who's not a premie, was also born, so
of course there are pictures of them side by side.
That second baby was a different family and four pounds
but healthy. Everybody's doing fine. The parents of the big
little Sean said, this is not what we expected. It's

(10:31):
like having a six month old at birth. Sewn and
number three coming up. Saturday is supposedly the last day
of winter. If you're a professional weather watcher, you know
that the first day of spring for meteorologist is like
March first, But if you're a stickler, the equinox is
March twentieth. Either way, spring is soon.

Speaker 4 (10:52):
You're in the note all three things to Know Today
Jody's top five entertainment stories of the week.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Number five for director Ryan Coogler. I know you know
his work Centners, Black Panther, Creed, just to name a few.
But the word is he is working now on the
reboot of the X Files and it's officially been ordered
to pilot at Hulu. So Hulu is going to bring
us a new X File series and Ryan Kugler will
write and direct.

Speaker 3 (11:21):
With or without David Ducoveney, And I don't know.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
I want David d'covney in everything, so we'll see.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
We're talking late nineties on Fox TV is where that
one was early two thousand, I think, so.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
I know it came on every Sunday night. I had
friends who like mark their calendars by it.

Speaker 4 (11:35):
Number four, Netflix.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
Has released a teaser trailer and it's just beautiful of
Emma Corn starring as Elizabeth Bennett. That means a new
Pride and Prejudice series is coming to Netflix. Ladies, it's
so hard for me to beat the Kira Knightley one though.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
Do you don't, smister Dassie open?

Speaker 2 (11:53):
Oh my gosh, so know that we don't. We know
it's going to premiere this fall on Netflix. Pride and
Prejudice thees. This is a story that it can be
told over and over, I promise, guys, Timeless, I know
you don't understand by the way this one will start.
Olivia Coleman as the mother Missus Bennett. Number three, the
Michael Jackson biopic, is coming sooner than we thought. We

(12:15):
have a release date.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
Now, this is your story.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
Putzee talking to Michael there. It'll be in theaters and
Imax screens if you want to see it. That way
to get the full concert experience. April twenty fourth. Okay,
and Jafar Jackson, of course plays the adult Michael Jackson
in this one. Antoine Fuqua says, is this the first
film portrays the family struggles, the talent of the family,

(12:40):
and Michael's life as he started to grow up. The
second one will come later.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
This is one to see in the theater because it's
larger than life.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
Yeah, the trailer will give you goosewamps.

Speaker 4 (12:49):
Number two.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
Speaking of trailers, from the mind of Taylor Sheridan, we
have a new series coming soon. I know you know
about it. It's called The Madison. Not set in the
Yellowstone World though. This is about a family from New
York City that relocates after a tragic event to Montana.
And it's Kurt Russell and Michelle Pfeiffer. My center, My
soul is gone. And we know when we're going to

(13:13):
get this. It's gonna the first three episodes March fourteenth.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
It's three episodes.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
That's right around the corner.

Speaker 5 (13:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
Number one one, ownA Ryder is joining the season three
cast of Wednesday on Netflix. That's a big deal.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
That's huge. You know.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
It's Tim Burton. In fact, he called her the goat
among outcasts, and she fits right into this world. We
don't have a release day for that either, but when
we do, you'll get it first.

Speaker 1 (13:40):
Wait to see that, Jony Stop. Five Entertainment Stories of
the Week and coming up next your morning pick me up.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
Morning, pick me up time. Have you heard the beautiful
voice of Levante Harvey, also known as the Singing Male Man.

Speaker 7 (13:55):
It's for you, Grandma, Indie. Ezy days at you today?
Down by them, so give me a.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
Man.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
He went viral this week. He's a Chicago mail carrier
and he sings into doormall cameras. But when he knows
that there's something you know. When you're a mail carrier,
from what I understand, you get to know the neighborhood
and you know your people often.

Speaker 1 (14:22):
Yeah, which makes sense to me. I mean, I love
we have two male carriers, and I and so. I
mean whenever I'm out there, they always wave. They're so friendly,
or if you're close enough they say hi.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
It's one of the last sweetest things in your neighborhood
if you ever if you never thought about it that way.
They really know what's going on. They're there every day,
and so Levante was trying to cheer up the grandmother
who lives in this home, who recently lost her husband.
He knew that she was grieving, and so that's what
he sang into the mail, into the camera rather And

(14:55):
he's just a happy he sings anyway all day, so
why not sing into the camp I'm to bring a
little joy. The granddaughter posted it up on social and
of course it went okay, And so now the story is,
we've all gotten to know him, this mail carrier, and
he was taking public transportation for two and a half
hours across Chicago every day to get to his job

(15:17):
and then do the mail route. And so because he
didn't have a car, he couldn't afford a car.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
Wow, that's two hours there means two hours back home.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
It does. And so Whitney, the granddaughter posted this up
and said, wait, this is who he is. He's bringing
joy to my grandmother and all of us. Let's crowdfund.
Let's get him a car. And now he has a truck,
ah Rush, and it takes him thirty minutes to get
there now, and he's also going to launch a clothing company.
I'm thinking I want to hear him sing.

Speaker 7 (15:44):
More graded in the eazy days, I used to lay
down by.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
The rithm oh ho me see that song, by the way,
is the Jamal Roberts song called Mississippi. Well done Lavonte.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
Coming up next, Jody has another Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 4 (16:04):
The Latest Buzz Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
So in the world of entertainment, we are in awards season. Okay,
we've already had the Globes, the Golden Globes. Now this
weekend it's time for the Actor Awards, which used to
be known as the Screen Actors Gills.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
Okay awards.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
It's not a new one.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
You know, this trophy. I think it's the coolest one
with the person holding up the mask and it's sort
of greenish teal and color. It looks incredible anyways.

Speaker 3 (16:32):
And this is kind of like a precursor to the Oscars.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
This one is also Golden Globes are also of course,
with the Academy Awards, it's only movies again. With the
Actor Awards, which we got this Sunday, hosted by Kristen Bell,
they do television and movies, but for movies, you know,
it's you know, Timothy shallow May is up for Lead
Actor up against Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothy Shallo May for Marty Supreme,

(16:57):
Leonardo for one battle after another. I was a part
of the French seventy five, you know, the big films
you're gonna hear about again. Sinners up for Best Ensemble.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
I'm in all over this world.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
That one really swept the Golden Globes. So anyway, another
thing that's happening. It's been announced that Harrison Ford is
going to be honored on Sunday with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Speaker 3 (17:22):
He deserves it, he does.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
We'll see what he says. Hosted by Kristen Bell, and
it happens, by the way, it streams on Netflix Sunday night.

Speaker 3 (17:29):
Three Things to Note today is on the way. It's
seven point fifty.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
Joining the conversation anytime, whether it's Grateful Friday or something else.
We've been visiting on eight seven seven three one zero
four MSJ Hi Mary.

Speaker 5 (17:45):
Hey, So you guys are talking about how you had
glasses and they were out of your comfort zone and
the next thing you know, you got them and then
now everybody loves them. Yeah, I'm a beautician. Haircuts are
the exact same way, right, people are to go out
of their comfort zone. But after a week or so,
I mean, it's good. So I would love for you

(18:06):
to tell people that, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
You're right about that. Do you ever suggest how how
firmly do you suggest a change?

Speaker 5 (18:15):
Well, depends on who it is. Yes, I've been doing
hair for over thirty years.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
Yes, and it just depends on it does because you
also probably know, I know you know by now that
you risk losing someone if they're.

Speaker 5 (18:29):
Upset, and not only if they're upset, but if they
go home and their husband's upset.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
Oh that's funny because I've never I've never thought about that,
because I've never worried about any man in my life
not liking my hair. My hair is mine.

Speaker 5 (18:47):
That's funny, Okay, And guess what, if you give it
a week, they'll liking it too.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
It's true, It's true. Sometimes it takes time to accept
change in the way we see ourselves. Yes, well, sweet, well.

Speaker 5 (19:00):
That's the first time I've ever called it pir But
I had to call him, let.

Speaker 3 (19:03):
You and let you know that.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
Well, thank you. You call us any time, call us anytime.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
We appreciate that. Mary. In fact, I may go ahead
and just push myself out of my comfort zone. I
don't know how varied I can be with my hair.

Speaker 6 (19:14):
But oh.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
Yeah, you don't want me to do that?

Speaker 2 (19:18):
Well you know what. Wait, just like I just said,
I wouldn't let you tell me what to do with
my hair. No, you do what you want to do.

Speaker 1 (19:24):
You've got better fashion sense that I do.

Speaker 3 (19:26):
Do you have something in mind?

Speaker 2 (19:27):
No?

Speaker 1 (19:27):
I don't have anything mind. You're saying it's I trust
Jennifer who does my hair. Maybe, yeah, she is suggestion.

Speaker 2 (19:32):
I mean I don't think you need anything new. What
you want it is you? Are you?

Speaker 1 (19:38):
Yeah? I hear these very strong suggestions.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
We're talking about glasses, and that's the truth. If you
once you put on a new pair or whatever, at first,
it may feel weird, but rocket a little while and
you'll get used to it, like Sam wearing his new
best ones We've ever seen you in.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
Coming up next, Jody has three things to note today.

Speaker 4 (20:01):
Here's three things to know today.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
Number one, that mom, who vanished in two thousand and
one and was found alive earlier this month, has now
been arrested on an outstanding warrant from that same year.

Speaker 3 (20:13):
She's the one who went out Christmas shop in two thousand.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
And one and never came back, and her family has
been looking for her forever and she was discovered this month.

Speaker 5 (20:20):
You know.

Speaker 2 (20:21):
So she missed a court date late in that month
in two thousand and one, and so they brought her
in on that. It's an outstanding warrant about you know,
driving under the influence. So they are still conducting full
interviews on this case. We don't know if she'll be
arrested based on the disappearance. Yea, her family, her daughter
who's grown now, has been searching for her for years.

(20:42):
Such a strange case. Number two, the Tampa Airport had
to explain that their ban on pajamas thing that they
posted on x and in social media this week was
a joke. They like it as a successful campaign. It
was like, hey, let's be a Crocs free airport. I
got like eight million US views before they said, look,
this is a joke. We had this long running tongue

(21:03):
in cheek social media presence, so where would you want
and fly? Expect them to continue with the jokes because
it works. And number three, last night, Gray's Anautomy at
the end of the episode paid tribute to actor Eric
Dane in a video set to snow patrols chasing cars.
This beautiful montage. Go see it if you didn't. Of course,

(21:24):
Eric Dane passed away last week after a public battle
with Als.

Speaker 4 (21:29):
You're in the note three things to know today.

Speaker 3 (21:34):
I know I usually do music news, and in doing that,
I come across a lot of stories about hit songs
that almost didn't happen. Yes, Sam, I want to share
some of those with you too. So this isn't the
official music news.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
This is unofficial.

Speaker 1 (21:46):
This was like a bonus.

Speaker 3 (21:47):
Yeah, hit songs that almost never happened, like Carrie Underwood
before he Cheats.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
Really yeah.

Speaker 3 (21:54):
She said she didn't want to do the song because
she was worried about how it was going to land
with her fan. She if I'm too aggressive, it's not me.
I'm the sweet farm girl who just want American idol.
This is not my speed.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
That's why it works.

Speaker 3 (22:08):
And they convinced her to do it. She did it,
and I mean, obviously it's her biggest song song.

Speaker 1 (22:13):
Yeah, And you know, I remember when I heard it,
I was like, oh wow, that doesn't sound like the
carry under But it sticks and it works. It's almost anthem,
like taking a.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
Bat and all that kind of stuff.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
Yeah, that's visual.

Speaker 3 (22:24):
John Mellencamp's on a big tour right now. It's like
his greatest hits tour that he's on. It's called Dancing Words.
But there was a song of his he said he
did this in a recent interview. He said he thought
it was stupid and silly. He didn't want it on
the album, and it became a number two hit. It's
this one, right.

Speaker 2 (22:44):
He didn't want to he didn't want to spell the
word no.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
He said it was a dumb, stupid, silly song. And
his way of working was he didn't give the record
to the record company until he was finished, so that
nobody could say, hey what about this, and hey what
about that?

Speaker 2 (22:57):
Nice?

Speaker 3 (22:58):
He said this one he made a mistake and he
played the song for a record company guy and the
guy's like, that's your number one hit right there, that's
the first song off the album. And no, no, no,
And he said he learned his lesson not to do
it again. So what happened was he and the guy
they decided to arm wrestle for it, arm wrestle for
whether this would be released. There was no room on

(23:18):
the album. It didn't fit the album theme either. That
the guy. He's like, okay, fine, we'll arm wrestle for it.
He did not win.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
I'm so glad, We're so glad the song made it
on the album. It's a great story arm wrestling and.

Speaker 3 (23:31):
My last one here. You're familiar with this song from
Rascal Flats. Yeah, they were not supposed to record that song.
It wi. The song was originally offered to none other
than Keith Urbana.

Speaker 1 (23:48):
I can see him singing it. To hear him singing,
but it's probably better suited for a group vocal.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
Yeah. I mean that album had life as a Highway.
My wish. That was the big album it was Keith thought.
Never had to get a reason why Keith didn't want it,
but he passed on the song, said it wasn't him.

Speaker 1 (24:04):
Well, in all cases, it's a good thing they made
it through.

Speaker 2 (24:06):
Yeah, and hey, Keith is doing okay, Well, he's all right,
he's doing great. I have a recipe for everybody today.
But it's not for you to eat, it's for you
to enjoy in your bath. Sorry, Murphy, Murphy doesn't like baths.
He's a shower man.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
I'll take it.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
I know, I know, Sam. You love a bath, just
like all my girlfriends. So this is the detox bath
recipe and it's just three ingredients and we do have
it posted. If you can't remember this, you're going to
be busy right now. It is on our website at
Murphy Salmon Jody dot com. Ebso salt, that's it it right,
ebsom salt, lavender, essential oil, and baking soda.

Speaker 1 (24:48):
Okay, that's simple and easy.

Speaker 7 (24:50):
It is.

Speaker 1 (24:50):
And they some salt which is basically magnesium is really
good for your skin and you know, muscles.

Speaker 2 (24:56):
It's good for you if you're sore. I remember when
I used to run and I was training and all
these crazy little things I was doing. It would like
soak in epsence song.

Speaker 1 (25:04):
Yeah, it took somebody explaining that to me. Once. It's magnesium.
I thought it was a magical salt the first time
I heard about it. But it's a form of magnesium.
So that's why it's so good and important for the muscles.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
So the word is And I found this online and
I've done it a couple of times, and it's supposedly
if you do this for twenty minutes about once a week,
it helps detox you your system. So it's a hot
bath It's a handful of epsom salts, about ten drops
of essential oil. Depending on how big your bath is.
If you have a huge bathup, you might want to

(25:35):
do more drops, but a regular sized bath about ten
drops of the essential oil. And if you don't want lavender,
if you'd rather do peppermint, but careful.

Speaker 1 (25:42):
On socalypty peppermint can burn.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
Yeah, yeah, and then a half cup of baking soda.
That's the mixture in a bath. This recipe is supposed
to draw out toxins that are related to stress hormones,
and it's supposed to balance your pH levels.

Speaker 1 (25:59):
Interesting.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
Okay, I've done it a few times. It feels really great.
I can't tell you.

Speaker 3 (26:04):
Is it fizzy?

Speaker 2 (26:05):
Not too fizzy? No, So anyway, I wanted to share
it with you because we were talking about taking a
hot bath and how it kind of burns calories, and
we just had this whole hot hot bath combo this week.

Speaker 1 (26:16):
I actually might be willing to try that one, Jody,
even though I don't want to soak forever, as you know,
because I don't like the whole my fingers on paper
and stuff. It's a it's like fingers on a truck board.
I tell you about that.

Speaker 2 (26:25):
So that's why you don't soak? So can you soak
for twenty minutes?

Speaker 1 (26:28):
Yeah? I have to take my CGM off and all
this high maintenance type one diabetes stuff.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
Sorry, that's right, That's why I don't. Right the detox
bath recipe at Murphy Samonjody dot Com.

Speaker 1 (26:39):
Coming up next, Jody has your Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 4 (26:43):
Trending now, Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 2 (26:46):
This legal drama that's on Hulu called All's Fair, starring
Kim Kardashian and a lot of other big names, did
not do well at all with critics.

Speaker 4 (26:54):
You're the best divorce lawyers in town.

Speaker 2 (26:58):
I mean it does look like you watch it, it's like,
oh okay, it's like trash TV. But this is a
Ryan Murphy created series. And the critics hated it, but
audiences showed up. We're like, we're here for it. You
know why we're here?

Speaker 4 (27:12):
Kim?

Speaker 2 (27:12):
Well, yeah, Kim Kardashian. So the word is, even though
it didn't do well, they've ordered a second season. Check
that box. But Ryan Murphy's going to do one better.
He's in talks with Kim to bring a new show
to her. It's going to be called a Melinda Farina.
I guess it's going to be about this person. She's
a beauty broker who matches high level clients like billionaires

(27:35):
with plastic surgeons. Again, it doesn't sound like the most
thought provoking thing you've ever seen, but Kim expect her
on TV with Ryan Murphy for a long time to come.
I do have news about a new Uma Thurman movie
that's coming to Prime. It's called Pretty Lethal. I used
to be a dancer. That's Uma years of dedication. She's

(27:59):
a bitter ex running this sketchy roadside in that takes
in down on their luck ballerinas. So dance meets a thriller,
sort of edgy world. This will be on Prime Video
March twenty fifth.

Speaker 4 (28:15):
Samscott Music News got.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
Some Vegas Sphere residency news for you. We've got one
band leaving and another band moving in. The band that's
leaving are the Eagles.

Speaker 2 (28:24):
Boy, but did they get a replacement?

Speaker 3 (28:28):
Yeah, April. D of April is when they wrap up
their Vegas residency. Now, they have announced three new tour dates.
They're going on the road, Atlanta, Nashville, and Arlington. All
those coming up in May. Of course, after the jazz
Fest date. Now, as far as the new band moving in,
this will be coming in October. You may know them
as well Metallica. Oh yes, really, it's called Life Burns

(28:54):
Faster and they're going to be at the Sphere for
eight dates.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
Man, that is going to sell out.

Speaker 3 (29:00):
Here's a little catch on this one. They're doing Thursday
Saturday dates. Yes, and they have this thing where they
do no repeat weekends, So if you go on Thursday,
it's a completely different concert on Saturday.

Speaker 2 (29:11):
And they'll bring an orchestra into it's incredible.

Speaker 3 (29:14):
Which means if ago you have to buy tickets for
Thursday and Saturday.

Speaker 2 (29:17):
They don't have to. But I'm just telling you that's
going to sell out. That is a perfect venue for
them to play.

Speaker 3 (29:23):
Got our first performers listed for the CMA Fest for
this summer coming up June fourth through the sixth in
Nissan Stadium in Nashville. Of course, all the big names
are going to be there. Blake Shelton's going to be there,
Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Cody Johnson, Carly Pearce, Jason al Dean,
Party Luke We're also going to happen and she's real

(29:45):
hot right now, Ella Langley and Jacko, Yes, Shaboozi, Zach Thumps,
Gretchen Wilson and all of this is going to be
recorded by ABC and then they put it all together
as a concert special for later in the summer on ABC,
and then you'll be able to stream it on Hulu
even later in the summer.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
That's gonna be awesome.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
It's huge.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
Now we all know Narls Barkley, right, Yeah, they haven't
had new music in eighteen years, which was this song
I believe so.

Speaker 1 (30:16):
Yeah, Celo Green was the guy who had up that.

Speaker 3 (30:20):
Celo Green and Danger Miles. Well, guess what they're coming
back brand new album marks the sixth. It's called Atlanta.
And they said, originally they had their whole intention was
to do three albums and then break up. So this
will be the third album and they're going to stick
with it. After this album, they're done.
