Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Murphy Salmon Jody Daily Show podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Murphy, since you're still out of town, I do have
a little story to tell you.
Speaker 3 (00:08):
I know you got back late tonight.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
So our youngest Phoebe had her big birthday yesterday, turned
twenty one, and I took her and her sister Taylor
to lunch, and you weren't able to be there, so
you sent.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
Watched that a note and when you helped me, you
got a bunk cake and.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
I got okay, I hand wrote a note, right.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
I wondered her to have something personal.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
A handwritten note from dad, and so she wasn't really
expecting that. I had a couple of presents for her
on the table, and she arrived at the restaurant, and
then you know when I handed her the cake and
the handwritten note. I just want you to know this
is how it went over. It's really cute on the
front to Phoebe phebes from Daddy. Oh, And she read
it out loud and laughed, and then she flipped it
over and then she said, oh, my gosh, So his
(00:49):
name is printed on the back of the envelope.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
Because yeah, I used my stationary, so he used just
a card I used my stationary.
Speaker 3 (00:56):
Yeah, so I want you to know.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
At first they thought I found was so hysterical.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
They were like, oh my god, Dad is so extra.
What is this. This isn't a birthday card, This is
like a corporate note I was like, no, this is cool.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
And I guess they didn't realize that you had Murphy stationary.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Yeah. Well, it's just like a little note card that,
you know, with my initials on the front. And then
I forgot my name was on the back of it.
I thought that they knew that I had that. Well,
I thought it was just kind of a cool thing
to do because it's different. It's not a birthday card,
you know.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
And that's what's funny. So I want you to know.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
At first they were laughing at that, being you know,
so your dad antics worked their way in and.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
You were miles away. You were not even there.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
And then when she was glad, then that means mission
to company.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
And then when she opened the card, she you know,
read it and quietly she didn't read it.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
We don't know what it said.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
You know, she read it and she was like, oh,
And then I want you to know. As things come
full circle within like a two minute span. She was like, oh,
now I love it that it's on this stationary and
not just a birthday card.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Oh okay, she gets it now.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
Yeah, yeah, she thinks it's even more special.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
And then of course I gave her a card with
a lovely note inside, but it was just a birthday card.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
It wasn't on Jody Stationary. No coming up. Jody has
three Things to Know today at six point fifty and next,
Sam has music News.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
Yeah, we haven't heard from Taylor Swift in a bit,
but she's dropping something new on us this weekend.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
Sam'scott music News.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
Yeah, it's been since October since Taylor Swift released the
Life of a Showgirl in the first song slash video
State of Ophelia.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
That's a fun video, a lot going on, and.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
We haven't had a new video or anything from her.
She's been kind of quiet, I guess making wedding plans, yes,
since then. But this weekend is the big weekend. She
is dropping the video for opal Light on everybody. Okay,
it's gonna be on some streaming services today and then
Sunday Super Bowl. Sunday, she's going to be on YouTube
(03:04):
for all of us to check out.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
Wow. Well, I will say this. You know she doesn't
do throwaway music videos. There's always a lot to them.
You have to really you know. Swifties know that, and.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
She directs them that true of everything, isn't it it is?
Speaker 4 (03:18):
Also, she's making available a new version of her album,
the opal Lite Blue Purlescent Vinyl version, so ready you
can get pre orders on that one starting today. Moving
on to The Voice, we got some big shakeups coming
for The Voice next season. By the way, that next
season is going to be February twenty third, right after
NBC's done with the Olympics. Oh and Olympics will end
(03:40):
that weekend, and then the new season of The Voice
starts on the twenty third. Okay, each show is now
going to be two hours, so it's not going to
be one hour deals and then two hours for the finals.
They are all going to be two hours. Only three
judges this time around. Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Adam
Levine and the NBC folks said, for this new way
they're doing it, they kind of took some inspiration from
(04:01):
NBC Sports because they wanted to be fast paced, very
competitive four rounds. They're gonna have new stuff called Super
steals where he can steal other contestants, and they're bringing
back Each coach gets to bring back two fan favorite
artists from a previous season that were on their team.
They're doing all kinds of new stuff this year.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
Seems like it'd be difficult to make it fast paced
in a two hour show, though, yeah.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
Yeah, they mean clips.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
I guess maybe you know it'll be quicker segments within
the two hours.
Speaker 4 (04:31):
And I got a little inside info on the song.
You're going to be hearing a lot starting today the Olympics.
The Olympics fan far and theme from John Williams started
in nineteen eighty four. He was commissioned to write it.
You realize, He said, he's not a sports fan. He
didn't know anything about sports when he first wrote this.
All he knew was from watching TV, the Olympics and
(04:52):
other sports on TV. And that's inspired. That's what inspired
him to write the song.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
You mean the best, right, since you don't have to
be a sports fan to know how to create excitement.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
Coming up next, your Hollywood Outsider trending now Jody's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
You guys remember the nineteen ninety one thriller film starring
Robert de Niro and Nick Nolty.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
Cape Fear, I realize.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
That you suffering. I understand your problems.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
So scary, so well done.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
It was based on the nineteen sixty two Gregory Peck
film Cape Fear. Guess what it's being reworked over at
Apple TV. It's Javey ar Bardine as the scary guy.
Amy Adams is in this too, So it's gonna be
a series. I am scared, but we will be there.
So Apple TV. It is a psychological thriller, but it's
(05:45):
a series, meaning episodes instead of like a three hour commitment.
June the fifth is when it's coming. The first two
episodes will drop on the premiere date, and then new
episodes will follow every Friday through the end of July.
Speaker 4 (05:58):
Oh so they're gonna make us wait every week.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
Yes, I think at this point anything Javeyard Bardem does,
I'm watching.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
So exciting.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
Maybe Adams is pretty awesome and you know.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
Oh that's why I know you guys love her. Okay,
moving on. You know you know actor Glenn Powell, he's
sort of the it guy. He's everywhere right now. Well,
he is going to start in a series adaptation of
the Texas Chainsaw Massacre for a series that will land
on streaming somewhere, and he's going.
Speaker 3 (06:25):
To be the face of it. That's scary how you.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
Can can turn, you know, movies into series like that,
which I guess you can. If everything has a correct
cliffhanger and you don't get to the end of it,
can draw it out.
Speaker 4 (06:36):
Coming up, you know, it is Grateful Friday, and we're
gonna hear from Mia, who is grateful for some advice
that you gave. Jody.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
Grateful Friday, your chance to let us know little and
big things you were grateful for in your life. We
really like hearing about them. So eight seven seven three
one zero four msj.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
Yeah, So let me tell you what I'm grateful for, Jody.
I'm grateful. I'll be seeing you to night, I know,
to be back home.
Speaker 3 (07:02):
We're ready.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
I can get rid of the pillow Murphy, the fake
Murphy in the bed and I'll leave the spot of Yeah.
Speaker 4 (07:08):
We do have an email from Mia and it's a
Grateful Friday email and it's for you, Jody.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
Okay, thanks Mia, I said.
Speaker 4 (07:15):
Recently, I had a longtime family friend that passed away
due to kidney failure. He'd received a kidney transplant years
ago and then had to receive dialysis the past two years.
Due to all of this, I told myself, I need
to drink more water. I had not been successful, as
I have a diehard coffee obsession. A few weeks ago,
while listening to your podcast, you talked about drinking water
(07:38):
and said that when you wake up in the morning,
your body needs water after going all night without fluids.
Right the next morning, while I was making my coffee,
your statement popped into my head and I filled a
tall glass of water and drink it all before letting
myself indulge in my cup of coffee.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
Ah.
Speaker 4 (07:57):
Yeah, good, because of you, I've you this habit for
almost two weeks now. Every morning I tell myself that
Jody said my body needs water first thing in the morning.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
That's funny.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
Yah. I'm also limiting the number of coffees I have
and doing several cups of green tea instead.
Speaker 3 (08:14):
Oh that's even better for you.
Speaker 4 (08:16):
Thank you for helping me succeed with my new habit
because of your podcast, and it's touched my life and
my body.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
Oh yay, I'm so glad Mia, Thank you for this.
You know I feel like I remember us talking about that.
All you hear that you need lots of water. We
all know we need water, but it was explained to
me once in a more broken down way, that every
organ in your body needs it, and especially when you
(08:44):
wake up in the morning. Your heart, your brain, your liver, name,
your organs. They are all dying for water. Water, right bodies,
and so to me, I have to kind of make
myself do it. To me, I drink it because I
have a coffee thing too, rather coffee first, but I
try to picture the water going to my organs.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
I know that sounds weird.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
Okay, hey, look whatever works for you.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
Yeah, there you go. Me, you know how you have
a picture?
Speaker 2 (09:11):
Join us anytime. We love hearing from you. Coming up next.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
Three things to know today.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
Three things to know today. Number one, Today is the
start of the Winter Olympics in Italy, Northern Italy. That's right,
so there's so much going on. Opening ceremony begins this afternoon,
but it will be replayed in primetime. Remember that there's
an eight hour time difference. That's what will mess you
up about seeing headlines like on your device and then
(09:39):
you're like, wait, can I when can I watch this,
so an eight hour time difference means for the next
two weeks, get used to, you know, watching Bob's Led
with your breakfast or something like that. Number two coming
up Sunday, super Bowl Sunday. It's when we you know,
read the Roman numerals like once a year. This is
super Bowl sixty. Yeah, Patriots are favored to win and
(10:02):
it would be their seventh Super Bowl championship. The last
Sunday won was in twenty nineteen. Seahawks have only ever
won once in twenty fourteen. Bad Bunny is the halftime
show Super Bowl Sunday, and that's Sunday on NBC and Peacock.
And number three, speaking of it, Starbucks is giving away
free coffee the day after the Super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (10:23):
Oh yeahrey catch.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
Well, it's a rewards member thing. You have to do
the app. It's a free tall hot or iced coffee,
you know, with the purchase of one other drink. And
it's in the app only. But it's that whole day
after Super Bowl thing. Nobody wants to show up, so
they're just trying to make it a little easier.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
You're up to date.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
Three things to know today Jody's top five entertainment stories
of the Week. Number five a reminder that Scarlett Johansson
is attached to this new Exorcist era of movies, coming
a fresh and bold take on the horror classic. The
first movie we're getting in March, and it's been announced
(11:05):
that we don't know what the storyline is really or what.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
Her role is.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
I think she's the lead, but actor Chwatel A Jewafoor
has joined the cast as an ex con who has
a new life as a priest.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
Wow, and how do you make it scarier than the original,
which is so scary that I've never watched it.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
I trust that you can make it scarier.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
Number four.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
Apple TV had.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
A big press day this week and the CEO confirmed
that they're talking and thinking and wishing for an F
one sequel.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
When was the last time you want to write?
Speaker 2 (11:35):
Sunday Dayton brad Pitt's highest grossing movie ever in one
of the highest grossing sports films of all time.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
Of course we want an F one too.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
Of course, hopefully they don't call it that. Number three
The Devilwar is product too. We got the first full
trailer this week.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
So much fun.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
Hello, Well look what TJ lastreg.
Speaker 4 (11:59):
This movie?
Speaker 2 (11:59):
Is on the way in theaters, also another sequel, May
the First and Anne Hathaway, one of the stars of
the movie, suggested that we show up to the theaters
dressed like Devilwar's Prada, you know, in kature, kind of
like you did we did a couple of years ago
for Barbie, and we all went in pink.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
This is a cute suggestion. Number two, here's a big one.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
The first full trailer for the Michael Jackson biopic Michael
is out here, confident and boy does it look authentic.
The family, Joe Jackson with the kids around the table,
him saying, look, We're going to become a musical dynasty.
It takes Michael and his family through the seventies with
the Jackson Five, through Michael's nineteen eighties solo career and
(12:44):
all of that.
Speaker 3 (12:45):
This film.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
You got to see this trailer. This film in theaters
April twenty fourth.
Speaker 3 (12:49):
Number one, The big one is the Super Bowl. Is
this Sunday, of course, and there's a lot going on.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
John bon Jovie set to introduce the new England Patriots
as they take the field. Act Chris Pratt set to
do the same for the Seattle Seahawks and expect during
the commercials for the movie industry to show up big time.
We're looking for big first time seeing trailers for the
Mandalorian and Grogu Toy story five, even the Super Mario
(13:16):
Galaxy movie.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
Yeah, that's a big weekend of the head That's Jody's
top five entertainment stories of the week. Coming up next
your morning pick me.
Speaker 2 (13:23):
Up, Morning Pick me Up. I want to share this story.
I've seen it a couple of times this week. You
may have seen the headline two and if you didn't
dig in, you don't realize what a hero for his family.
This thirteen year old boy is in Australia. Do you
hear about him swimming for four hours to rescue his family?
Speaker 1 (13:42):
No? Could you swim for hours treading? No treading water
or swimming?
Speaker 2 (13:47):
Wow, he was actually swimming, not just treading water. So
he his mother and two siblings, So four of them
were on a holiday in Australia the southwest coast. Some
strong winds they were just like they were out on
inflatable paddle boards and it seemed to be okay. Then
some strong winds come up and blew them out to
(14:09):
sea and he was separated from his mom, and his
two siblings and then his he was like his thing
began to take on water. He had a life jacket on,
as they all did, and so for about so he realized, okay,
I am going to swim back to shore to get help.
Speaker 4 (14:27):
Okakay.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
So for the first two hours he swims with the
life jacket on, but the life jacket also was sort.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
Of impeding his body movement.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
So a couple hours in he thought, I'm not going
to make it with the life jacket on, and I
really want to make it to shore, and he was
separated from them and he wanted to save them, so
instead of trying to get back to them, he made
and he's thirteen years old, he made the decision to
take the life jacket off and swim to shore.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
So for two it's a really risky decision to no.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
It's not like it's it's not reckham men did that
decision to ever take off your life jacket. But he
made that decision and he made it back to shore.
He raised the alarm, all these old these agencies got involved,
Search and rescue got involved, and he gave them descriptions
of the paddle boards, and within an hour that family
was rescued. They were they had drifted seven miles into
(15:21):
the Indian Ocean.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
Oh that's crazy. I mean, you know, when he was
that far out, how did he even know which direction
to go? That's what's meaning to mean, because when you're
that far out, you don't see land anymore. Yeah, that's disorienting.
Speaker 3 (15:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:33):
And by the way, the mom, she's forty seven year
old mom. It's an eight year old daughter and a
fourteen year old son who were all cling to the
same what.
Speaker 3 (15:40):
Do you call that an inflatable?
Speaker 2 (15:42):
Right? And they didn't know if ever anyway, everybody was okay,
And it's almost like the decision making in his own
adrenaline kicked in for him to be able to do that.
Speaker 1 (15:52):
What a miracle. Coming up next, Jody has another Hollywood Outsider,
Jody's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
Super Bowl is Sunday, and Super Bowl is big business
in the advertising world, So maybe you are not really
there for the game as much as entertainment and the commercials.
Speaker 4 (16:07):
Seven million bucks for a thirty second commercial.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
The biggest companies h and Our of our time come
to play and bring their best creative and big dollars,
and so uber Eats is back this year with he's
made to do commercials Matthew McConaughey, and this time he's
with Bradley Cooper.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
When a quarterback runs, they called a scramble. You're on
the morning scramble, Bradley nult. You have somewhere else to be.
Speaker 3 (16:32):
This's the whole thing of you know, football is trying
to feed you. It's all about food and it's funny.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
So look for that. I don't want to play too
much for you. I don't want to spoil it. But
we've also got grub Hub called on and he answered,
George Clooney.
Speaker 1 (16:44):
Grub Hub will eat the fees.
Speaker 3 (16:47):
The fees really, Chris.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
That's and that's a new thing that they're launching with
George Clooney. Chris Hemsworth and his wife are in an
ad for Alexa plus or he's rejecting all this highly
socious AI stuff.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
Look for that.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
When fifty cent is doing an ad for door Dash
and it's called the Big Beef and it's this inside
stuff about his big beef and we all know who his.
Speaker 3 (17:11):
Big beef is.
Speaker 2 (17:12):
Well, yeah, that Sean Diddy cums I and look for that.
Speaker 4 (17:15):
Way DoorDash, graub Hub and who eats.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
Yes, they're all competing and all with big celebs.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
Look for them. Sunday coming up with Murphy Salmon, Jody.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
Murphy, we need to talk about this thing I found
in your office while you've been out of town, Murphy,
while you've been out of town, I have to confess
that I saw something I wasn't ready to see in
your office. So I had to go into Murphy's office
and filing cabinets, which I don't ever do. But Phoebe,
(17:47):
our youngest, needed her birth certificate. You know, she's getting
her driver's license updated, and she needed her real things.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
Yeah, twenty one. It needs to look like an adult.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
So I was like, oh, your dad's out of town.
I got to go in there and find that. Okay,
I'll do it.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
And so I go in there, and I don't go
through the filing cabinets ever. And by the way, Murphy
shout out, you keep great records.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
Wow, well thank you. You know what. I've also eliminated
a lot of paper in case you can't tell as
long as we've been together, with a whole lot of
digital stuff. So I only keep the absolute things I've
got to keep on paper and not the rest the first.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
Drawer, I went through the whole drawer and didn't find
Phoebe's stuff, and I was like, man, but wow, there's
a title for this and things for your dad here,
and it's all very organized. And then I go to
the next rawer and I'm like, oh, this is it.
This is all really personal information. I got Feb's birth
certificate for her, and then I saw it. What the
Jody folder, Murphy, do you want to tell everybody what that?
Speaker 3 (18:44):
What that is?
Speaker 1 (18:45):
That Jodi folder came about because Jody was concerned at
one point after we had the girls that she doesn't
really know how the how the financial operations, all that
stuff works. You know, Jody and our team, right, I mean,
if you take care of you know, the things that
I'm not really great at, and then the you know,
the findings and all that I do.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
And it's the folder.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
If something happens to Murphy, but I'll know what's going on.
It's a dump, dump, dumb folder, that's what it is.
So I had never really seen it. I knew it
was in there, I knew it was pink. So I
just want you to know I couldn't help myself. I opened it.
I expected there to be like a note or something
in the front going I'll always love you.
Speaker 4 (19:22):
I'm so sorry I'm not there.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
It's a wow.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
It's okay.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
I hadn't thought about that. I just kept it pretty yu.
Speaker 3 (19:29):
It was business forward. It's all business.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
But I only really looked at the first sheet because
that's just something in my heart.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
I didn't want to go through that. I don't need
to go through that yet.
Speaker 1 (19:38):
Yeah, it's weird. It's a weird thing to see, you know,
And here I am out of town and you're reading that.
I'm sure that that's probably kind of No.
Speaker 3 (19:45):
It's a smart it's a smart thing to have.
Speaker 2 (19:47):
But I just want you to know I've seen the
folder and want you to know I appreciate the work
that went into it.
Speaker 4 (19:53):
Murphy, Are you going to put a note in there now?
Speaker 1 (19:56):
Well, it sounds like I have to do not.
Speaker 3 (19:58):
Absolutely do not. Coming up next, Three things to know Today.
Here's three things to know today.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
Number one, today's the official start of the Winter Olympics
in Milan, Italy, and for the first time in twenty
four years, they're adding some new events and the strangest
one is called Schemo Ski Mountaineering Schemo ski mountaineering. It
combines skiing uphill, some climbing and then downhill racing through
a course. Schemo never heard of that, Well, now you will.
(20:28):
You can actually just watch it all. You can watch
it for the.
Speaker 3 (20:32):
Next two weeks. Number two, let's.
Speaker 2 (20:35):
Give you a update in this very strange and sad
disappearance of the Today Show anchor Savannah Guthrie's mother. The
investigators now have an official timeline of when she went missing.
You know, she in the early hours of Sunday. You know,
her doorbell camera was disconnected. Her pacemaker app showed it
had been disconnected, like at two point thirty in the morning.
(20:56):
And investigators just the FBI is involved and they say
they still have have not identified a suspect or person
of interest despite what you hear. And number three, even
if you don't know any Spanish, Bad Bunny says his
Super Bowl halftime show is going to be one big party.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
He plans to bring a lot of Puerto Rican culture
to his show. You don't need to know Spanish to
enjoy it.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
He did say, maybe learn to dance, because it's all
about the moves and your dance only needs to come
from the heart.

all caps, So thank you for that. We love a
good recommendation.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
Yeah, that sounds like your thing, Jody, because you really are.

the full story versus the abridged TV or always.
Speaker 2 (22:25):
I mean, if you really love a movie, go back
and want go back and read the book and you

(22:46):

Speaker 3 (22:50):
So thank you. Keep the recipes coming you guys.
Speaker 1 (22:53):
Sorry, Sam, I know you don't like cabbage.
Speaker 2 (22:56):

Phoebe and enjoy the roller coaster ride of adulthood.
Speaker 3 (23:36):
Boy, that is so true, isn't it?
Speaker 1 (23:39):
Yeah, youngest just turned twenty one.
Speaker 2 (23:41):
Another Rebecca sent this this for you, Murphy. This is
about favorite bus drivers. Murphy always had favorite He loved
his bus drivers. I did I love When I was
in high school. I had a great uncle that drove
a bus and if I saw that he was subbing,
I would get on his butt the bus that he
was driving, give him a kiss. It was great because
every body in school was surprised.
Speaker 3 (24:02):
So sweet. We love hearing from you. Keep it coming.
Speaker 2 (24:05):
You can reach us at Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
Speaker 1 (24:09):
Coming up. Tody has another Hollywood outsider and next, Sam
is the food Dude.
Speaker 4 (24:12):
Yeah, I'll let you know who is given away free
food during the Big Game Sunday.
Speaker 3 (24:19):
Sam's always up on the new Eats. He's the food dude.
Speaker 4 (24:22):
I'm gonna let you know how to get some free
food during the Super Bowl on Sunday. Couple of restaurants,
a couple of chains that are doing at Chipotle and
Buffalo Wild Wings now Chipotley. Instead of spending their money
on a seven million dollar commercial, yeah, they're actually making
an Instagram reel that's going to run between when the
halftime show ends in the third quarter, starts. Okay, so
(24:43):
get on instore right, look for Chipotle and it's called
the Chipotle Realist thirty and they're going to give you
a code to get a free meal at Chipotle.
Speaker 3 (24:52):
That's clever.
Speaker 4 (24:53):
One hundred thousand free meals, you know, so you're going
to have to move quickly. They'll give you the code
and then you can get And by the way, free
meal means like a real entre burrito, bowls, burrito, three tacos,
you know, not just some little side thing that you
have to make a purchase with whatever.
Speaker 1 (25:07):
A lot of people do. The second screen thing so
watching TV.
Speaker 4 (25:10):
The other one is Buffalo Wild Wings. For eight years now,
they've been doing the free six wings if the Super
Bowl goes into overtime. So they're doing that one again.
So if it goes into overtime, you get six free
bonus or bone in wings.
Speaker 3 (25:23):
It rarely does though, you're just a little statistic.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
The Odds got.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
A new flavor of cinnamon toast crunch, actually two new flavors,
but we don't know what they are yet. They've been
tied to K pop Demon Hunters. There's two new versions
coming out. We got the Hunter X Cinnamon Toa's Crunch,
and then the guys, the Saga Boys Cinnamon Toa's Crunch.
You can only order these February eighteenth from the Cinnamon
Toa's Crunch website.
Speaker 2 (25:47):
Gonna guess if there's be all Soda Pop one because
it's soda pop song.
Speaker 4 (25:50):
The boys song is soda Pox. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
So it's not just it's not shapes, it's actual flavor. Yeah,
it's actually flavor cinnamon in it.
Speaker 4 (25:58):
Huh. Yeah, they are regular Cinnamon toa'st Crunch shapes, but
we don't know the mystery flavors yet. Here's something really unusual,
the first of its kind coffee creamer from Coffee Mate.
It's a frozen coffee creamer. It comes in a pint.
Speaker 3 (26:11):
And it looks like ice cream.
Speaker 4 (26:13):
Yeah, and they're calling it cool crim frozen creamers. So
what you do is you take a scoop instead of
using a regular coffee creamer. Yes, take this out the freezer,
get a scoop, drop it in your coffee.
Speaker 3 (26:24):
It cools your coffee, cools.
Speaker 4 (26:25):
Your coffee, and it's a creamer and it's supposed to
make a cold foam on the top.
Speaker 3 (26:30):
Too nice.
Speaker 1 (26:31):
Maybe I'm too impatient. It just seems like that's an
extra step.
Speaker 3 (26:34):
Or you could just eat it with a spoon.
Speaker 4 (26:36):
Yeah, well let me yeah, I will probably it accidentally
instead of the regular ice cream. Two flavors by the way,
Vanilla caramel swirl and cookies and cream crumble.
Speaker 3 (26:45):
Nice.
Speaker 1 (26:45):
Okay, I have to see how that goes.
Speaker 3 (26:47):
Coming up next your Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 1 (26:51):
Trending now, Jody's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 2 (26:54):
They're keeping it tight lipped over at Disney about this,
but the word is there's a new entry in the
Pirates of the care be In franchise coming lies before us. Okay,
they're going to try to capture the tone of the
original movies. Johnny Depp will not be making any appearances,
but there's gonna be a new character in this world
introduced played by Margot Robbie.
Speaker 3 (27:15):
Is the word. Ah, like, Kara's.
Speaker 2 (27:18):
A pirate, don't you, Barbie the schwack fuckery, So look
for that.
Speaker 3 (27:22):
She's a talented actress, she can do anything. I'm moving on.
I want to clarify.
Speaker 2 (27:26):
We were telling you even earlier today in the five
Top five Entertainment stories of the Week about the Exorcist
film that's coming. Scarlett Johansson is starring in a new
whole era for the Exorcist films.
Speaker 3 (27:39):
So I said that it's.
Speaker 2 (27:41):
Coming out in March, the actual correction on that, and
this makes sense since they are still casting it's March
twenty twenty seven that this will land in theaters, because
they're just making announcements and I didn't want you to
think that in two months, a month away you could
see this. But it's the Exorcist, a whole new version
of it. Scarlett Johanson star. We have she would Tell
(28:01):
a Jew of four. We also have Laurence Fishburne joining
the cast. Okay, Diane Lane is a part of this
as well. It is not a sequel to The Exorcist Believer,
which came out what a year or two ago.
Speaker 1 (28:13):
It's a whole I remember that one.
Speaker 3 (28:15):
Because you're scared of it.
Speaker 2 (28:16):
It's a whole new world of Exorcist movies. Hang out
with us on your schedule, Take us along. It's the Murphy,
Sam and Jody Podcast. The whole show, every day rolled
up into one podcast. And there's a bonus also. It's
called after the Show.
Speaker 1 (28:32):
Jody found the Jody Folder and I'm out of town
and Jody found the Jody folder.
Speaker 3 (28:37):
It was. It was a moment when I found that.
Speaker 2 (28:39):
I was like, oh, he put in the work to
put this together for me if something were to ever happen.
Speaker 1 (28:44):
Yeah, that's the whole reason for it, and you don't
think about it. But when there's so many different moving
parts to things now, and I guess I experienced this firsthand.
We had created the Jody folder, by the way, a
long time before my dad passed away. But you know,
after my dad passed away, he had everything so well
organized that we were able to eventually find everything. But
if you have one list to say where you know where,
(29:06):
what is and what you need to address first. I
don't know, it just it makes it easier to manage.
Nobody really wants to think about the end. Life is
still going on, so you don't make it a priority
right to put it together.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
But it's the responsible thing, you know. I'm the girl
my father died when I was sixteen. He was forty,
and my mom had to take on and handle a
lot of things. And I watched her struggle with that,
and so I guess I've in my brain I've always thought,
be ready for the worst case scenario, be ready.
Speaker 1 (29:37):
Well and Jodi was the one that actually, you know,
asked me about it when we when we first had
the conversation, it's like I need to know. I'm like, okay,
I can simplify all of this. I mean that's what
I did and created the the Jody Folder.
Speaker 3 (29:49):
It's pain.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
Yeah, it was weird for me when I started putting
together because your natural tendency is to think that there's
like some sort of a jinx or something that you
know what I mean, because it's it's creepy.
Speaker 4 (30:02):
To you know, to put that together. At first, it's
like you know that you are never going to use that.
Jody's the one that's going to use it.
Speaker 1 (30:09):
Yeah. Actually it's pretty good reference for me if I
ever forget.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
Now I got to ask this, Jody, did you go
through the folder and like look at everything and say, oh,
you know what else needs?
Speaker 2 (30:20):
No, I should do that, but I didn't want to.
I saw the folder. I opened it, like I said,
I expected there to be something personal, but it was
just records of things that I would need to know,
which I am so grateful for that.
Speaker 3 (30:32):
And then I closed.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
Well, you what's crazy is when I first created it,
but it's been about you know, ten twelve years or
something like that. We did go over it. It was
just one of those words like okay, put it away.
Speaker 3 (30:42):
It went over my head because I.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
Don't remember that boy's written down.
Speaker 3 (30:48):
So so grateful for the folder,
