Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Murphy Salmon Jody Daily Show podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Murph, let's call our oldest daughter to start the day. Okay, Hi,
if you record your name and reason for calling, I'll
see if this person is Hello.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Hey man, that's cool. I didn't know you were screening
your calls like that.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Well, yeah, I just started because I've been getting spam
and things like that and it's easier.

Speaker 4 (00:25):
Taylor. I wanted you to join us because the last
couple of times you've come over to the house, when
you have something in your hand wrapped in foil, I
get excited. My heart races wildly for your homemade banana bread. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
Yeah, I've really enjoyed making it a lot lately, and
basically every time I've come home, I've just wanted to
be able to share it because it's really good.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
It is good. Well, you've been working unperfected it. The
first one Mom and I thought were great, and then
the second batch was like, oh wow, this is even better.

Speaker 4 (00:55):
The second batch was better. Why do you think that is, hey,
I think the second.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
Batch was better because well, actually, you gave me some
ripe bananas for the second batch, and they were bigger
than the ones that I bought.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Last time, okay, and I think because.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
Of that there was more moisture in the bread.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
That makes sense. I mean that's the same, right, Bigger
bananas make better banana bread.

Speaker 5 (01:19):
Yeah, I guess we all know that's right.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (01:23):
It's chocolate chip banana bread. And I know you put
an at what your recipes says like half a cup,
but I think you put more. Don't you put more
chips than that? You're super generous.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
I thought roughly about half a cup.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
It just seems like a lot because you don't usually
see chocolate.

Speaker 5 (01:39):
Chips and banana bread.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
But one of the things I love about putting chocolate
chips in the banana bread is that even days after
it's done, the chocolate chips still stay gooey because that
moisture gets trapped in the banana bread.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
Now, I was wondering about how that little bit bit
of magic worked.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
This is becoming one of your things, Tailor.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
You know. I don't know if you meant to do it,
but I'm I think you're not. You're gonna be known
in the family for your banana bread.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
I love it.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
Even Phoebe said the other night, I love how generous
you are with the chocolate chips. I think you use
the fat chips too. They're big, yes, okay, and you
know we want to taste it and eat it anytime
you want to make it.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
I haven't even had it warm yet, Okay.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
I think there is. Sam wants you to make enough
that it could bring some here too. I can see
it in his eyes.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
I'll definitely make you some, okay. Thank you sweet? All
right baby, it's nice to talk to you this early.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
I know you have school, I know you have work,
but thank you for sharing the recipe. We have posted
it at Murphy Salmon Jody dot com Taylor's Chocolate Chip
Banana Bread.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Thank you, I love you, have a great day.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
You all right, love you by bye bye. Coming up
at six fifty, Jody has three things to know today.

Speaker 5 (02:52):
Music news is next. I'll let you know where you
can catch Coachella for free this weekend.

Speaker 6 (02:59):
Sam Scott Music.

Speaker 5 (03:00):
Well, Coachella kicks off today in California, and if you
can't be there like most of us, you can actually
watch it on YouTube. They're gonna be live streaming seven stages,
so if you can't be there tonight, you can catch
Sabrina Carpenter tonight. So fun.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
The upgrade, so fun.

Speaker 5 (03:17):
The upgrade this year is that three the main three
stages are going to be in four K. So if
you've got a big screen TV and four K.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
Me, it's like being there.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
Yeah, super high def. One of the stages they're using
Google pixel items, and so it's going to be a
vertical stream. It's interesting.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
That doesn't anything to me, but a.

Speaker 5 (03:35):
Horizontal sideways you know, up and down, just like on
a phone phone video.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
Okay, vertical you can watch it that way, yeah, okay.

Speaker 5 (03:42):
As usual. And they're doing the four picture or the
four stages at once. I tried this last year and
it's really cool. You can bring up four stages just
like football four and the one you're highlighted on is
the one you get the audio from. Oh look, Bieber's
over here. Click justin. Bieber will be there tomorrow night.
It's way you got me.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
I'm so glad for him. It's like a comeback. I
think I feel.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Huge, so enjoy that.

Speaker 5 (04:06):
We are less than two weeks away now from Laney
Wilson's documentary that's going to be landing on Netflix. Keeping
Country Cool, and they put out a new trailer.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
I think a lot of people think that this was
an overnight success.

Speaker 7 (04:18):
I've been here fourteen years, so a fourteen year overnight success.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
OK.

Speaker 5 (04:25):
Some of the other stuff you see in there is
like she's backstage chilling and there's a sign that says
nobody speak to Laney from her people because she's trying
to get her act together before she heads out on stage. Sure,
April twenty second is when you will be able to
see that one.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
I want to see that one. I know there's a
lot of layers to Laney. I can't wait.

Speaker 5 (04:42):
And there's a new album out right now. It's an
EP of reimagined Disney songs. This one done by country
artists and I'm not sure if you're familiar, but a
few months back they did one with pop punk artists
called a Whole New Sound. This one is called main
Street Country. We have Dasha on here yet, Maddie and
Tay on here doing You'll be in My Heart. But

(05:03):
I think the highlight is Beauty and the Beast from
Cain Brown and his wife Caitlin.

Speaker 6 (05:07):
Boot the little ski Skinny Beauty.

Speaker 5 (05:16):
Oh wow, I feel like I'm in the ballroom.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
Don't chills get some chills.

Speaker 5 (05:21):
Main Street Country. You can find it now.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Coming up next your Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 6 (05:28):
The latest Buzz Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
It was kind of a fun story this week.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
And three things to know today That Home Depot already
has you know, scary stuff in the store as they
call it, halfway to Halloween and you can buy like,
you know, the huge night Led Knights and the new
Skelly Skeleton and all that. Well in Boston this week,
did you see or did you hear about the Michael
Myers impersonators all in one spot for the world record,

(05:55):
for the Guinness World Record, there were two hundred fifty
four people dressed up as Michael Myers in the coveralls,
in the mask, all together in one spot and it
was all part of this. The makers of the video
game adaptation. There's a Halloween game coming in September on
you know PS five and Xbox and everywhere. You could

(06:17):
buy and play a game, and so they did that
for that, but they also and if you were at
the event you could do the playable demo.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
But the funny thing to me is you've got two
hundred and fifty four Michael Myers.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
How did they find that many masks. I guess eBay
comes in handy for that.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
You kidding?

Speaker 1 (06:32):
It is still the most You can still buy a
William Shatner mask and stretch it out yourself.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
No, it's the mask scariest mask ever.

Speaker 5 (06:40):
It just really is driving down the street, turn the
corner and run into that.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Can you imagine? Murphy?

Speaker 4 (06:46):
Last year at Halloween, I saw a stuffed Michael Myers
like a plush, and I wanted.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Him so badly. That happened. And the game comes in September.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
Coming up next to your email and comments.

Speaker 4 (06:57):
Actually it's a question for Sam about the art of
miss Mission. No pressure, Sam. I know you've been geeking
out all week, and we've kind of geeked out with
you about Artemis too, about the mission, about the Orion
capsule splashing back tonight tonight. Okay, So, and there's a
lot of there's so much cool, crazy stuff to know.

(07:19):
But Vicky has sent a question to well, she sent
an email at to Murphy, Sam and Jody dot Com.
I think she even called as well. My name is Vicky.
I have a question for Sam. Uh Oh, it's not
the typical question. She's not asking me about your personal life.
My granddaughter lives in California. When the artemist comes down

(07:40):
and is fifty miles out, is this something that if
she goes to the beach she could look up up
into the sky and actually see it coming down, even
though she can't be where it lands. I am so curious,
thought I would ask you. This is all I wanted
to know. Thanks again, love the show.

Speaker 5 (07:57):
You want the short answer, yes, probably not all. Everybody's
saying fifty miles, but it could be up to eighty
miles as it gets closer. They know, you know pinpoint
exactly how far it's going to be, But can you
look up and see it re entering the atmosphere? From
what I've read, because it's daytime, it's going to be
just after five in California, it's not going to be

(08:17):
able to see it that far away. They said. If
it was night time and glowing, you can be able
to see it and it will looked like a shooting star.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
Cool.

Speaker 5 (08:24):
Now there is something cool though. You should be able
to she should be able to hear the sonic boom.
Oh again, so she will hear the boom.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
That's a little crazy.

Speaker 5 (08:33):
Yeah, And I looked into this too. The San Diego
Air and Space Museum. They're doing a family pajama watch party.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
Oh that's fun.

Speaker 5 (08:42):
You have a giant led screen TV and so then
coming there having all kind of fun family games in
your pajamas and you can watch it on the TV.

Speaker 4 (08:49):
Okay, because they'll have it pinpointed and they'll be yeah,
that's crazy.

Speaker 5 (08:53):
I think's going to have it live streaming.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
We're going to all be able to see it.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
Yeah, and they'll be met with so many different organizations
like you know, military, all of that.

Speaker 5 (09:02):
But if your daughter wants to go out to the
beach and try, you never know, maybe you might get lucky.
I don't know, but from everything I've read, it's not
likely that she's going to see it in the daytime.

Speaker 4 (09:11):
Okay, well, thank you for sending that, VICKI. You know,
Sam is our space what do you call it? Sometimes
he's our astronaut want.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
To be Murphy, No, he's our afficionado.

Speaker 5 (09:24):
Called space expert.

Speaker 4 (09:26):
Email us anytime at Murphy Samonjody dot com.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
Coming up next. Three things to know Today.

Speaker 6 (09:33):
Three things to know today.

Speaker 4 (09:35):
Number one, you know how you feel a little wonky
after like a hard day at the gym? Imagine being no,
not Actually, imagine being in zero gravity for ten days,
so that Artemis two astronauts are going to feel pretty
bad when they splash back down and they're here on
Earth for a little while because being in that sort
of zero gravity, you it strips away twenty percent of

(09:55):
your muscle, and they'll have even trouble holding up their heads.

Speaker 5 (09:59):
Oh yeah, So when they bring them off the capsule
this evening, they put them on stretchers for the first
for a little bit. Yeah, it's because they can't stand it.

Speaker 4 (10:05):
It's concerning, but they know it's all part of the process. Yeah, certainly,
not over just when they touch down. They got to
get back. Number two, if you get an Apple Pay
fraud alert on your iPhone, double check it because there
is a new scam. It's the newest hustle I guess,
and it's it involves urgent tech saying somebody is about
to clean out your account.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
It's like a warning. Guess what. It's fake fraud support.

Speaker 4 (10:30):
So what we're being told is just check with your
bank if you get something like that, and if it's real,
your bank will be on it.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:36):
And Number three, attendees of the Masters, you know they
have to follow some really strict rules to be no
cell phones, no cell phones, No shoes with pointed heels
or spikes. That's to protect the grounds. No signs, flags
or banners. That's a no no. And don't even think
about taking a souvenir. In twenty twelve, the guy tried

(10:56):
to take some sand like I was here, and he
ended up being arrested and it cost him twenty thousand
dollars in the end.

Speaker 6 (11:03):
You're up to date. Three things to know today Jody's
Top five entertainment stories of the Week.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
Number five.

Speaker 4 (11:12):
Fifty cent is developing a three part series about his
life for Hulu. It's not just coming, he's developing it.
He's gonna get in the front, in front of the
camera and just tell all about his beginnings in Queens
to his up you know, his music career, his business
power because he's everywhere.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
He's coming.

Speaker 4 (11:31):
He's going to be acting in the upcoming Street Fighter movie. Yes, yes,
he is so fifty look for that. We don't have
a date or anything like that, but it will be
on Hulu.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
Number four SNL has.

Speaker 4 (11:42):
Announced Saturday Night Live has announced their upcoming host and
musical guest for May and it's really cool. On May
the second, Olivia Rodrigo is double duty. She's going to
host and be the musical guest. We've got Matt Damon
hosting on May ninth, but the big one is middle
of the month.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
May sixteenth.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
Will Ferrell is back to host, which means it's going
to be full on.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
Also, they're not playing around the musical guest. Paul McCartney.

Speaker 4 (12:08):
Wow, I mean which were which are you more excited about?

Speaker 5 (12:11):
Kenny?

Speaker 4 (12:13):
May sixteenth, for SNL number three, we got the final
Devilwares Prada Too trailer this week with the song from
Lady Gaga three.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
It's called Runway Scandal. It's you know, that's funny.

Speaker 4 (12:29):
It's the name of the song, but that's the name
of the magazine that she runs, by the way, which
the whole premise of this movie is Andy comes back
to help Miranda Devil, the devil that she works with
to run and save Runway.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
So yay that movie.

Speaker 4 (12:42):
In theaters May first, number two, another film that the
ladies love, and things ramping up for Legally Blonde.

Speaker 6 (12:49):
Press me, Paula. You have all the equipment, you just
need to read the manual.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
The whole franchise.

Speaker 4 (12:54):
You know, we're getting a prequel series called l And
the movie is getting a re release in theaters for
two days only for the twenty fifth anniversary. And that's
also in May, May twenty fourth and May twenty seventh.
And if you show up, you're gonna get a sneak
peek at the upcoming prequel series. And you know they
call it more Blonde for your buck. Show up on time,
Show up ear least you don't miss the extras.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
Number one, Jaafar.

Speaker 4 (13:17):
Jackson is said to portray his iconic uncle Michael Jackson
in the movie Michael, and got the final trailer this week.
Got these sauce my head, looks like him, sounds like him.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
Got to get there. So this movie is coming.

Speaker 4 (13:34):
And what we know now because Jafar is doing some
of the interviews, is that he went through a grueling
two year process just to secure the role. Just because
he looks like him and sounds like him, they weren't
gonna let him start in it.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
And a family member art hard.

Speaker 4 (13:48):
I guess if you're ready, you're ready. April twenty fourth
is the date. Go check out the last trailer.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
Jody's Top five entertainment stories of the week coming up
next your morning pick me.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
Up, Morning, pick me up time. Let's do it Sam.

Speaker 5 (14:01):
This one comes straight from the Masters this week.

Speaker 4 (14:04):
Yay.

Speaker 5 (14:05):
What the last person to make the Masters feel this week?
His name is Gary Woodland. He won the Houston Open
a couple weeks ago and that got him into the Masters.
Last person in there. There's ninety one people. He is
number ninety one and he suffers from PTSD. Now I
give you a little story about him. A couple of
years ago, he had brain surgery to take care of

(14:25):
his seizures and PTSD. However, it did not fix the PTSD,
so he still suffers from it. And he even said
a couple weeks ago when he was playing the Houston Open,
which he won, he said, for the final ten holes,
his whole mind was racing, thinking people were trying to
kill him. No, while he's out there trying to concentrate
on golf, he's got that in his head.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
That's horrible.

Speaker 5 (14:46):
One of the things I read about. I mean, he says,
it doesn't matter if you win or lose. PTSD doesn't
turn off. It doesn't care what you're doing.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
Right. So, what was the cause of his PTSD?

Speaker 5 (14:54):
I don't know. In the past, I don't I haven't
been able to find out what that is.

Speaker 2 (14:59):
Maybe he didn't want to make public. It's possible.

Speaker 5 (15:01):
Anyway, he made the Masters, so going into it this week,
he says he knows there's bigger galleries, the tea boxes,
and the greens. People are closer to you, So you
got all that going on. So he and his team
met with the security at the Masters at the Gusta
National earlier this week, and they assured him we have
somebody on every hole. They showed him on every hole
where security is, because he says it's visual for him.

(15:24):
If he can look up and see security is right there,
he's okay, I'm good. I can go back to my swing,
my putt, my whatever it is. So as long as
he knows that's going on and everything is okay, he'll
be able to play his game.

Speaker 4 (15:37):
I mean, how many people would have with that sort
of obstacle not even continued to compete.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
It sounds like it's difficult to confront.

Speaker 5 (15:46):
Yeah, And I just want to shout out too Augusta
National for working with him and telling him this is
exactly where everybody is. If you start feel any way
somebody's right there. Ask them and they can take care
of you. Yeah, here's another relative bit. Guess who his
threesome includes yesterday and today? The first two rounds, you
play with the same people. Okay, Scotti Schiffler number one

(16:08):
in the world. Right, it's t Master's winner and you
have to play with him.

Speaker 4 (16:13):
Oh wow, that's coming up next your Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 6 (16:21):
Trending. Now Jody's Hollywood outsider.

Speaker 4 (16:23):
I'm sure all the Swifties already know this, But there's
another date, a rumor for a wedding date for Taylor
Swift and Travis Kelsey. Now everyone thought June thirteenth, because
thirteen is her you know, lucky enough, that's a weekend,
and that's a weekend and it's in the summer.

Speaker 2 (16:41):
I mean, honestly, she's going.

Speaker 4 (16:43):
To let her fans in on this, that's what she does.
She's one of the most personal artists in the world.
But it's going to be in her own time, right.
But the latest rumor, and it's being reported by Page six,
that they're getting married in New York on July third,
and so that would be that's the latest rumor.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
But if it didn't come from her, it doesn't mean much.

Speaker 5 (17:06):
That's the same weekend as the World Cup in New
York City and.

Speaker 4 (17:09):
Two hundred and fifty America two hundred and fifty. If
nothing's really gone on that weekend, who can They could
already be married.

Speaker 5 (17:18):
True, that is true. I've thought of that.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
It's been thinking about it a lot of it's on.

Speaker 5 (17:22):
Why not do it? Get it out the way, and
it's like tada, here it is.

Speaker 4 (17:26):
Remember though, she will let everybody know in her own
good time.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
Let's move on to some big news for Pink.

Speaker 4 (17:33):
She has been named the host of this year's Tony Awards.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
That's going to be fun.

Speaker 4 (17:38):
It'll be on CBS and stream on Paramount Plus June seventh,
That date is confirmed.

Speaker 5 (17:43):
Coming up next, it's Grateful Friday.

Speaker 4 (17:45):
Your chance to shout out what you're grateful for, even
the little things. Eight seven seven three one zero four
msj Grateful Friday is for you to share your life
with us, what you're grateful for. That's going on eight
seven seven three one zero four.

Speaker 2 (18:03):
Ms.

Speaker 1 (18:03):
Jane and Lisia's calling Jody.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
Our favorite, one of our regulars. Oh sweet, So what's
going on?

Speaker 4 (18:12):
Well?

Speaker 7 (18:12):
I am grateful for my little steel Magnolia group that
I have every Friday. Oh nice, the widow women who
range from ninety five to seventy and.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
What do you do?

Speaker 7 (18:27):
I have been pleased with so much strength and wisdom
from them that it's just unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
So is it like a church group? Do they come
to you? Do you do their hair?

Speaker 7 (18:38):
Might they come to me to get their hair done?

Speaker 3 (18:41):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (18:42):
There clients? Oh my gosh, I love it.

Speaker 7 (18:46):
Yeah, and they had just a true.

Speaker 5 (18:48):
Blessing, no kidding?

Speaker 2 (18:50):
How many are there?

Speaker 7 (18:51):
Four of them?

Speaker 2 (18:53):
Do they all come to the appointment at the same time.

Speaker 7 (18:56):
They have started to overlap through the last few years
so that they could come together and visit with each other.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
Oh are you kidding?

Speaker 4 (19:04):
When as when I was growing up, that's how women
did it. They would all go to the beauty shop.
They called it together.

Speaker 7 (19:11):
Yeah. Now they overlap their appointments and they sit, they
visit and it's wonderful.

Speaker 6 (19:18):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (19:19):
Do they know you call them the Steel Magnolias group?

Speaker 4 (19:22):
Oh? Yes, yheartedly so sweet?

Speaker 2 (19:27):
So you're like truviy from still love It, love It,
love it, love it, love it.

Speaker 4 (19:33):
Okay, Well this is sweet. I'll never forget it. This
is a good grateful Lisa.

Speaker 7 (19:37):
Oh yes, oh yes, I'm truly blessed every Friday.

Speaker 2 (19:40):
Sweet Well, thank you for it and thank you for
sharing it. I appreciate you.

Speaker 7 (19:44):
I appreciate y'all. Keep doing what you're doing. Y'all are
a blessing.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
Thank you, Lisa. Yeah, what's amazing is anytime. And my
only reference pointing this the only ninety year old that
I knew really was my grandmother. It really is something
special when you were able to interact talk to somebody
who's lived that long and seeing that many things they.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
Know so much.

Speaker 4 (20:04):
But also when you get to that age, you don't
carry around a filter anymore. They'll just say whatever they will,
and it's beautiful.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
So you're saying that she tells Lisa what she really
thinks of how her hair looks.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
Is yes, E hopfully grateful Friday. Coming up next. Three
things to Know Today.

Speaker 6 (20:24):
Three things to know Today.

Speaker 4 (20:25):
Number one, Artemis two is still facing some risk as
they return to Earth tonight, the final danger being that
thirteen minute, twenty five thousand mile per hour plunge they
make through Earth's atmosphere using a heat shield that's been
known to have some design flaws, and the Artemis one mission.
You don't want to think about that, I know, but
NASA said they change the re entry flight plan for

(20:47):
that reason, coming in a steeper angle and coming in
faster to reduce how long the shield is exposed to
the extreme heat.

Speaker 5 (20:54):
And they lose contact for I think six minutes.

Speaker 4 (20:57):
See, you're gonna be watching, but it is planned, and
it's a plan something to watch. Number two Amazon is
officially stopped. They're gonna stop updating older kindles. So if
you've got an old, perfectly good kindle that you've been
reading on it's like the twenty eleven model.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
Soon you're gonna be able to just use it as
a coaster.

Speaker 5 (21:14):
I think I may have one of those.

Speaker 4 (21:15):
No, really, everything from their first two thousand and seven
first Gin Model to twenty twelve's Kindle White basically useless
by the end of by the end of May. And
number three Tonight today is the start of Coachella. It
used to be this weird, you know, Rowty festival. Not
so much anymore. They don't even arrest anybody anymore. The
only citations are like parking problems, but it's like bougie

(21:39):
restaurant pop ups. Seventy five different restaurant pop ups there
for those who can afford to be there. Headliners are
Sabrina Carpenter and then tomorrow night, Justin Bieber.

Speaker 2 (21:49):
You call Coachella, you're.

Speaker 6 (21:52):
Up to date. Three things to know today.

Speaker 4 (21:57):
Lisa had called earlier a grateful Friday store. Worry about
the Still Magnolia's group is what she calls them. Lisa
is a hairstylist and has been, you know, doing hair forever,
and she has a group of like four women between
the ages of seventy five and ninety who come to
her sometimes at the same time, like they schedule their
appointment so they get to see each other and be social.
And I think you said for one of them, it's amazing,

(22:20):
and that the thing that not only does that stand
out to me for a million reasons, like I missed
that sort of appointment. When I was a little girl,
I would go to the beauty shop with my grandmother
or my mom and it was usually some small quarters,
like a small somebody behind their house and a built
like truviy from Still Magnolias, and you would sit in

(22:41):
there and get your hair done. But it was a
social exercise. You would gossip, you would learn things. You know,
all of that was really portrayed correctly in that movie,
still Magnillia's.

Speaker 2 (22:53):
But anyway, that's not what it made me think of.

Speaker 4 (22:54):
When Lisa said I've learned so much from them, They've
given me so much wisdom. I was like, Lisa Corey,
you know why in my experience, I don't know if
this is true for you guys, if you have older
men in your life who were like mentors to you.
But for me, an older woman that I've been in
a relationship with, or older women in general, have never
steered me wrong, never almost ever, whether it be a

(23:17):
grandmother or someone who I worked with. And so if
you are in your thirties even forties or twenties and
you're just starting out.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
I think it would be beautiful.

Speaker 4 (23:28):
To make sure you have a mentor, you know, an
older whether it's for work or just relationships or life,
it's really important.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
I'm sure through time you'll encounter that. Whether it starts
with a grandparent probably is your very first older mentor,
but it could be a school teacher.

Speaker 4 (23:44):
Also, Yeah, I never approached somebody and said be my mentor,
and you're not supposed to do that. By the way,
You're supposed to know what your goals are and does
this person sort of fit into that?

Speaker 2 (23:55):
And you're supposed to do it slowly.

Speaker 4 (23:56):
You're supposed to take them to coffee, ask questions, make
sure you bring value you to do the relationship to.
If you're like younger, I just think you know, it's
not just a grandparent situation. Everybody can use a mentor,
and that's what's happening. Lisa doesn't even realize that they
are bringing her with wisdom.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
Yeah right. You know a lot of stories too.

Speaker 2 (24:17):
A lot of stories.

Speaker 4 (24:18):
Women are just experienced in life and work and they
have a lot of good good to give.

Speaker 5 (24:23):
Well, my mom is eighty six and I don't think
she mentors anybody.

Speaker 2 (24:27):
Oh maybe I could give her a call Judy Sam.

Speaker 4 (24:32):
Yes, it's very risky coming up next. Sam is the
food dude.

Speaker 5 (24:36):
Yeah, there's a famous ice cream that we all know
in love from stadiums and theme parks, now available at
your grocery store.

Speaker 6 (24:44):
Sam's always up on the new eats. He's the food dude.

Speaker 5 (24:48):
Have you ever had Dippin' dots? Oh?

Speaker 1 (24:50):
Yeah, A bunch of times. They melt fast, though they
don't do anything for me. They know that's that's a
stadium thing.

Speaker 4 (24:57):
I guess I need my ice cream to be creamy,
not in little balls.

Speaker 5 (25:01):
Well, Murphy, I'm glad you said that, because, yeah, stadiums,
you find them at the mall, you find them at
theme parks. But now, finally, I don't know why it's
taken so long. There Dippin' Dots are coming to grocery stores. Okay,
you're going to be in four packs, you know, each
four little containers. The first two flavors up Brownie Batter
ice cream and cookie Dough ice cream.

Speaker 2 (25:20):
Oh, they're really coming for it.

Speaker 5 (25:21):
And they're also later on this year going to come
out with two new Sunday flavors, Banana Split and cool
Mint Crunch.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
That's cool Crunch. They're in little packs.

Speaker 1 (25:31):
There's got to be some reason that they've delayed. Maybe
it's the whole isn't it nitrogen called nitrogen that they
used to make these things with?

Speaker 4 (25:38):
Something like that, is there's some sort of science project
behind the creation of Dippin' Dots, which is not in.

Speaker 5 (25:43):
The freezer section that's your grocery store.

Speaker 1 (25:45):
Correct.

Speaker 5 (25:46):
Also, another little nice cold summer tree Doctor Pepper freeze
pops are now hitting dollar general stores.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
Wow. Yeah, seems like you could make that yourself.

Speaker 1 (25:55):
But I think about that my mom I think tried
to make stuff like that. They were weird though, because
the carbonation goes away and they're flat.

Speaker 5 (26:01):
Yeah, that's so. I'm wondering if these really tastes like
Doctor Pepper or it's.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
Like, we'll see, we'll see.

Speaker 5 (26:07):
I got some new stuff from coming from Oscar Mayer.
First of all, two new hot dogs, the beef and
pork franks. I guess they're putting both meats in the
same hot.

Speaker 2 (26:16):
Dog there or more flavor.

Speaker 5 (26:18):
Hopefully that's intentional, not leftovers. Ye says nothing about chicken
and other parts. Bold beef and juicy pork in the
same hot dog. Also a smoky version of the cheese
stuffed hot dogs. It's called cheesy smoke House stuffed hot dogs.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
I don't realize the cheese me either.

Speaker 5 (26:34):
I remember when they put cheese and chili in them. Anyway,
they also have a new bacon. I know you're not
gonna like it, Jody, but maple bourbon bacon from Oscar
Meyer thick cut bacon. You guys can have all that
and uh sprite. They're bringing back their tea. If you
remember last year they had sprite and tea. Yes, I
tried it, it's weird flavor. But they're bringing Sprite Tea

(26:55):
back with two extra new flavors, Sprite Tea Green Tea
and Sprite Tea Jasmine te Okay, yeah that might taste it.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
Okay for me to admit I like jasmine tea.

Speaker 4 (27:05):
Yeah, I mean and dipping dots on the show coming
up next to your Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 6 (27:14):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 4 (27:15):
If you're a fan of the show Wednesday on Netflix,
there's some big news this week. Three new people have
been added to season three. We don't know what capacity,
but actress Lena Hetty also known as Circe from Game
of Thrones. Maybe she'll be carrying around a goblet and
blowing up things anyway. Also Andrew Mccarthyady's brat Pack, but

(27:39):
he's gonna be on Wednesday. And then James Lance, also
known as Trent from Ted Lasso. He's joining the cast
of season three. We don't know in what capacity, but
all about never More Academy. And remember that one owner
Ryder is also a part of this one gonna be
huge production for season three is underway with those superstars.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (28:00):
Another story based on and about the Michael Jackson biopic
Your Competent, which is in theaters April twenty fourth, is
that Cinemark has debuted the first Michael popcorn bucket. They're
calling it a simple but brilliant bucket. It looks like
his black Fedora hat, but it supposedly also doubles as

(28:24):
a wearable.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
When you're done. Yeah, I mean word, I know.

Speaker 4 (28:28):
It'll hold eighty five ounces of popcorn and then you
gotta clean it if you're gonna put it on.

Speaker 2 (28:33):
But it's like fifteen inches by five inches tall.

Speaker 4 (28:36):
It's it's a wearable black Fodora hat that you can
get at cinema theaters for like twenty five dollars. Join us,

Speaker 5 (28:55):
We have an email here for Murphy, Sam and Jody,
and it is for you Jody, probably Hugh too, Murphy.
It's from Quaid Cool qu ad e Oh yeah. Quaid
says the Madison is a show. You need to watch.

Speaker 2 (29:09):
My center, my soul is gone.

Speaker 5 (29:13):
You will all.

Speaker 4 (29:15):
Trust and believe that this is on my radar. It's
Michelle Pheiffer. You had me at Michelle Pfeiffer, and then
you had two checks Atty Kirk Russell.

Speaker 5 (29:23):
Yeah, Quaid says, I wanted to watch it because I've
always been a fan of Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell.
I sing on the cake as her husband. He touches
all senses. You're gonna laugh, you will cry, you'll be angry,
you'll be happy, and it really makes you think and
reflect about the important things in life. Stellar cast, fabulous writing.
Of course, it's Taylor Sheridan and everything he touches turns

(29:43):
to gold. But it's not like Yellowstone or Marshall.

Speaker 1 (29:46):
Okay, well that's good, and everything Taylor Sheridan touches does
turn to goal. And every male character always has to
talk like that and not sure.

Speaker 4 (29:54):
Why this sounds perfect and always does. I'm going to
watch this with out you, Murphy, though, because I know
I just don't. I don't want to watch something sad
with you.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
Oh is it sad?

Speaker 2 (30:05):
It's about grief?

Speaker 1 (30:06):
Okay, well yeah you can have it.

Speaker 5 (30:07):
Why I know why not? Because he carries on about it.

Speaker 4 (30:11):
He's a sponge, as we all are. But he will
be sad and he might even cry, And I who wants.

Speaker 1 (30:17):
To go to bed like that?

Speaker 3 (30:19):
Right?

Speaker 2 (30:19):
No, So I will look forward to that.

Speaker 4 (30:21):
You've got some stuff from work coming up, you know,
even a little trip soon, So I'm going.

Speaker 2 (30:25):
To watch it alone. Something else.

Speaker 4 (30:27):
I'm finishing up by myself. You know, we're watching Scarpetta together. Yeah,
but I'm also finishing up and just like That, which
is the sequel series to Sex and the City. I
didn't care for the first season that much, but it's
really hard for me not when Carrie Bradshaw is on TV.

Speaker 2 (30:45):
I feel like I know Carrie Bradshaw. In fact, I
do know her.

Speaker 1 (30:48):
I'm sure there are a lot of people that feel
that way, that love the franchise, and so it's like
friends together.

Speaker 4 (30:54):
And there's only like three episodes left and the series
is done. And I accidentally I was watching like episode seven,
and I googled what's the last episode?

Speaker 2 (31:04):
And I got the spoiler, the one where car died.
But I'm only a

Speaker 4 (31:08):
Couple more until I'm hey,
