Speaker 1 (00:02):
You know, and I get that. We're now it's the
first week of October. I'm noticing that the Halloween decorations
are slowly but surely starting to pop up around our house.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Yeah, we have a MENI next door hello, And.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
I think that's fun. I love the fun Halloween stuff.
It's a blow up when the creepy stuff hangs around
for a month. I don't know. I just it's not
my thing.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
I haven't hung kennop outside yet. Are scary cool?
Speaker 1 (00:25):
There's something We've got some something hanging somewhere that looks
like a grim reaper right now at home?
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Yeah, I don't know what you're talking about.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
Or is that real?
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Phoebe has a little skeleton in her room, not in
her closet. She's too young for that.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
Okay, wait, go back and.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
Look and see where that is hanging in the.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Car We don't have anything in the car port.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
I thought I saw something hanging in the car port.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
This morning when we do. That's junk. That's not Halloween,
or it's real.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
Yeah, or it's real.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
It's not real.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Okay, So the manion inflatable? Does this mean because you
haven't been in this house you want there right or Halloween.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
No, this is a new neighborhood.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
Do you have an inflatable neighbor, neighbor, we have a neighbor.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
I don't know that we might we might find out.
What's funny about this inflatable is when you drive down
the street, it's right in a curve of the streets,
so it looks like this minion's in the road. I
have to stop your car before you hit it.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
So the neighbors to the leftos that we don't know that. Well,
they have the minion outside, and it's a Halloween minion,
but it's a big blow up.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
Man, it's just not lit up at night. The ceiling's missing.
Knock on and tell them what's wrong. I love it,
just it would be cute and sweet.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
Yeah, I have not speaking of Halloween, decora, I have
not taken our ghouls out or anything yet because I
just like, like I said, this is a new neighborhood.
I don't know if I don't, I didn't want to
be the only one.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
Well, there's a manion next door now.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
I know it kind of the day that I saw
it the other day, I thought, this gives me permission
to go ahead and bring all my stuff. And remember
Murphy last year I bought well the year before on discount,
I bought these spider lights and the little ghost and
witch lights that that dance along the brick or whatever
you've got. You know, they're pretty, they're cute.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
And the hands that come out of the ground. I
found those all extra.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
Yeah, maybe maybe we'll have to get all that stuff
out now.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
But now I'm worried. What is it in the car
port when I get home this afternoon? What is it
that I'm actually going to find this hanging at something's
hanging on the laddice work.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
Well, maybe in the daylight it flies off.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Okay, all right, on the way, first Hollywood Outsider of

What do we have today, Bailey? And your mail bag?
Speaker 5 (02:48):
Well, I get some stuff to tell you on this
Keep the Wow Wednesday.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
It is keep the Wow Wednesday.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
Remember to live so that you keep the wow. You
feel the wow, and you realize the wow in situations
be open to it.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (03:01):
Well, Julie is keeping the way on this way, she says.
I take my tiny dancer to the dance studio four
nights a week.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
Oh sweet, she says.
Speaker 5 (03:09):
Just watching all the kids dance and all the hard
work that they put into their dances wows me.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
Look, that's work, dances work. I had a dance class
when I was in first grade. I was like I
was six years old, and I dropped out of it.
It was an extracurricular thing. My mom used to bring
me and my cousin and we would you have our
leotards and all that. And I dropped out of it
right before the recital. Oh no, because everybody was paired up.
I remember this, Julie, And everybody was paired up, and
(03:35):
then somebody dropped out and they wanted me to do
something by myself in the middle of the stage and
it was very prancy, and I was super uncomfortable. So
when I showed my dad the moves they wanted me
to do, he let me quit.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
Yeah, you don't want to do those moves for us
right now, do you.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
No, That's okay, So thank you Julie for that.
Speaker 5 (03:53):
Bridget says, looking into the faces of my granddaughters and
seeing me and my mother at the same time is
definitely a wow.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
I love it when you see other people and kids.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
And it changes as they get older. What's weird is
sometimes you'll see one side of the family more than
the other and then it just that is.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
Well, my grandson Hollis was born, yes, and he is
spit image of his mom Melissa. But I notice now
I'm starting it'll change Sammy in there as well.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
Yeah, it can change. Yeah, thank you for that.
Speaker 5 (04:23):
This one isn't a wild moment, but it was something
that we did talk about. Your little weekday, week night
dinner option mom trick.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
Yeah, oh yeah, when you have leftovers in the fridge,
you just tell every as long as they're old enough
to do it on their own. It's like every man
for himself.
Speaker 5 (04:39):
Yeah, Linette says at seven and eleven, my kids must
read my mind when I'm tired. When it comes to Friday,
they ask, can I just have a peanut butter sandwich?
And I tell them, yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
Sure you know where it all is. I'm here if
you need help.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
That's easy.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
So nice when you can finally do that, when you
can say you know where everything is, Pizzas in the
oven or pizzas on the way. Yeah, it's the best
weeknight trick. All right, Thanks for reaching out. We love
hearing from you anytime on Facebook or Instagram coming out.
Speaker 4 (05:05):
You're a Hollywood I'm seller.
Speaker 6 (05:10):
Jody's Hollywood outside.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
You always liked the Jonas brothers, Okay, from whenever they
first started to now I'm a super fun I was
super excited about them getting back together. I haven't even
watched that Amazon special about their whole happiness whatever thing.
I haven't watched it yet, but I like the way
that they all really play instruments and everything they do
is fun. You know, it's all so fun. I didn't
(05:35):
know this until I saw a story pop up yesterday
afternoon that Nick Jonas is a Type one diabetic. Did
we know this? No, you're more of a Joe fan
Joe bro fan, than I am.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
I'll remember him, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
Yeah, he was diagnosed when he was thirteen. Murphy. He
wears an insulin punch just like me, insulin dependent.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
How did I not know that before?
Speaker 2 (05:57):
Now, that's what I'm saying, You wouldn't know. You're not
at Jonas person.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
But I mean, but I am connected to, you know,
like JD r F in that community. And so I mean,
the only only celebrity I knew who was a type
one diabetic is Brett Michaels. Yeah, who's still rocking it today.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
You know, he's the only Jonas who was diagnosed when
he was thirteen and he got so sick that he
was almost in a coma. And I think now that
he's talking about it more, you may see him more
involved in, you know, just education about it. But he
is also a pump wearer.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
Did not know that up to date.
Speaker 4 (06:27):
With Judy's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
Coming up next, I'll let you know what my oldest
son wants me to do with him. A little father
son bonding moment. Sam kind of weird though.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
Come hang out with us later today for another episode
of the Merbhy Salmon and Jody After the Show podcast.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
I enjoy my daddy daughter daddy son moments whenever they
come along. I think him I could be creative and
come up with some occasionally.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
When you get to have one on one time, especially.
Speaker 3 (06:55):
Right, Yeah, because usually in the weekends it's all the
little the teenagers, that's the little kid, the teens younger.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
So you know, well, you've got quite the spread there.
You've got some in their thirties and you've got some
in their teens.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
Yeah, I got the spread. But my oldest Sammy, he
said he heard us talking about me and getting another tattoo. Yeah,
the Suija Pama on my hand, you know, the first
initials of all my kids. And so he he called
me up and he said, you know, I've been looking
to get a tattoo as well. And I know he's
told me in the past, but he says he now
(07:26):
knows he wants to get the word discipline tattooed.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
Oh that's interesting.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
Simon would serve as a constant reminder to you know,
stay diligent at work and at home and working out
and playing basketball.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
Where on his body does he want it.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
He doesn't know yet where he wants to be able
to see it though, And of course then he starts.
Then he starts this, well, should I get it done
backwards so that in the mirror I can read it?
I was like, no, no, no, no, no, no no no no no,
no no no, no, first mistake right there. But anyway,
his idea is, since I want to get one and
he wants to get one.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
Ah tattoos, so let's go do it together.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
Have a bonding moment.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
That's cute, that's sweet. You should be flattered.
Speaker 3 (08:03):
Yeah, and right.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
Now, do that? I mean, is there you know? I mean,
if you can, you got to have two artists in
the same.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
Place, or we can get the same person. And he
does it, and then I'd do it because mine's not
going to take too long, maybe a half hour at
the most. But I thought, you know, it'd be great
because I started giving him advice on well you need
to look for this kind of place you need to
put and I'm thinking, well, if we go together then
because he's also a little bit more report exactly, he's
kind of nervous. He says, does it really hurt? And
I was like, at first, it does, but you get
(08:29):
used to the pain.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
Is that the sound?
Speaker 3 (08:33):
Yeah, that is the sound of a tattoo needle machine.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
It's a mush Yeah, it's a needle with an artist
holding that machine. Yeah, Well that's you should I think
you should be flattered, Sam, because he really wants your
moral support. It's a big deal to him and he
wants you there. I would take him up on it.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
Come on, you, little thirty year old, let's.
Speaker 4 (08:51):
Go coming up with Murphy's Sam.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
Why it's important that everybody in life have event buddy? Okay,
what that is exactly? Because I know it sounds weird
about it. Next, Okay, so having event buddy is apparently
really important and good for you for your health. So quick,
what do you think event buddy is.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
Somebody you can unload to.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (09:12):
Yeah, yeah, And as I've learned the hard way, I mean,
sometimes it's your best friend, but sometimes it's better for
it to be an impartial person.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
Yes, it's like a counselor yes, a non judgmental person
that you can unload keyword unload things on. It helps
you to feel better. It pent up stress. If it's
hanging on to you, it's really good to let it out,
like verbally, just let it out. Your stress levels get lower.
I always feel that way after I have lunch with
a girlfriend where we kind of vent to one another
(09:39):
about But that's not what we always do. There's a
lot of giggling and fun too. But sometimes certain friends
I always feel better after having spent time with them,
and then I realize it's because we have shared experiences
and we've meant to each other about it. I don't
feel alone.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
Yeah, and sometimes it's not just the griping stuff. These
are they're people that you feel comfortable those things too.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
Yeah, they say, like you're in the thick of it
with parenting, it's important that you have other mom friends
or other dad friends who kind of can feel what
you're feeling. So you need somebody who's a non judgmental
source you know that you can feel, you can unload
and fill validated with, and then sometimes you know you
Another benefit of it is that you might get some
advice you weren't expecting.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
Yeah. Yeah, So you have to be careful of making
sure that you don't create the habit though, you know
what I mean. You can go from complaining to dumping,
and if you start to do that it's chronic, then
you actually can push that person away.
Speaker 2 (10:30):
Huh, totally totally.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
Do you have a vent buddy, Sam, I don't necessarily anymore.
I mean Gus my dog, because but he doesn't say
it's so funny. Life sounds rough.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
That's funny that you say that.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
I mean when I had spouses. Yeah, that was my
vent buddy. That's not great, I know, but that was
my vent buddy. I wasn't venting about them, I know.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
Okay, But do you think that if you could go back,
would you redo that and not vent suchlics?
Speaker 3 (10:59):
Yeah? Because, like Murphy is saying, you turn into the
chronic complainer. It's not venting every now and then because
I need to release something or get it off my chest.
It's you're just a chronic.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
I don't think it needs to be your significant other,
is what I'm saying. But it's important and good for
your health to have a vent buddy.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
Coming up by and the Murphy saving Jody after the
show podcast. The reason that Jody and I can't always
be vent buddies to each other even though we're married.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
This should be good because we're Maybe I should get
some popcorn for this one.
Speaker 4 (11:31):
Sam always fines the new eats. Jeez, the food.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
Well, you are so lucky right now because you can
get a hold of a one cent Big Mac at
McDonald's this week. Only this week, they're giving away a
million Big Macs. For one cent. Door Dash is what
they've teamed up with on this one, one of the
delivery services. So you can get the door Dash app
and you go on there and you put in the
code one M Big Mac and you get a penny
Big Mac.
Speaker 2 (11:56):
You know, the greatest thing in the world about a
big Mac.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
That's delicious, sauce special sauce.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
Yeah, and they still need to make Mini Max. I'm
still gonna say that forever. McDonald's the little one.
Speaker 3 (12:06):
They are also trying out right now a Beyond you
know how they impossible whoppers going on at Burger King Vegang. Yeah,
McDonald's is trying one with Beyond Meat, the other brand,
and they're calling it the PLT because it's plant based
meat and with the lettuce and tomato.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
I bought one of those plant based burgers once. It
was like a frozen thing and we brought it home
and at first movie was so excited. You were so
excited to taste it, and then by the halfways, like
you know, it's kind of like.
Speaker 1 (12:34):
Well, as long as it was spicy, I mean you
had to season it, but it was good if you
had enough stuff on it.
Speaker 3 (12:40):
Yeah, kind of like the time we had the tofurkey
for Hop for Thanks Together.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
Different. That was very different.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
Speaking of eating healthy, I Hop is now introduced gluten
friendly pancakes and waffles. First big chain to do a
waffle house, No I Hop the International House of burger Man.
They're calling them gluten they're gluten free because they're using
a rice flour with a sugar milk and it got it.
But they said, because there's other stuff in the kitchen
(13:09):
that's being made that has gluten, they want to call
it gluten friendly and not necessarily.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
Gluten tomorry right.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
It makes sense because if one two batters running too
each other.
Speaker 3 (13:18):
I was waiting for the end of the joke there.
And also since we're on this kick, Disney is going vegan.
They just started this week at Disney World for the
walk up service and also the table service. A lot
of different like four hundred different items. You can now
get vegan. That's a lie samed Asian dumplings in Epcot.
You can get eggless Florentine Main Street, USA, nicey Ago.
(13:39):
They'll have the little green leaf next to it on
the menu and that means it's vegan.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
Whoa cool no chili dog there? Thank you food dude,
you know what tonight is, Murph, we have a date.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
We do have a date. It on's going to be me,
you and the girls again for friends, not going.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
To be the girls this time.
Speaker 1 (13:54):
It's just me and you.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
It's just me and you for friends. The twenty fifth
anniversary at theaters.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
At the theater.
Speaker 4 (14:05):
It's good.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
That's one of the episodes.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
Yeah, the one with where we're osscot High. Is that
what it's called? Something like that?
Speaker 1 (14:13):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (14:13):
I think we should have everyone.
Speaker 4 (14:15):
How good it is?
Speaker 3 (14:15):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (14:16):
The trifle? Okay, So it's was four episodes with twelve
episodes total. One was last week, one was Saturday Night,
and then the third and final one is tonight in theaters?
Speaker 3 (14:26):
And did you buy tickets for the girls? And now
they backed out?
Speaker 2 (14:29):
Well, here's the deal. Murphy did buy four tickets together.
But Phoebe has a bunch of reading to catch up,
one which has to come first because she has a
quiz later in the week. Taylor also let me know
that she has some studying to do and she doesn't
think it's a good use of her time to go
to friends at the theater.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
Do you think they're making this up to get out.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
Of going I know that Phoebe's not making that because
she's on deadline for sure, Taylor possibly because Taylor was
kind of like at the end of Saturday is just
like we were saying yesterday, like where were they behind
the scenes stuff that we paid for? Where was it all?
Speaker 4 (15:06):
Like?
Speaker 1 (15:07):
Yeah, and everybody in the theater was under that same impression.
So I'm hoping tonight. I mean, if there are at
any outtakes for that bone, you know, still friends, I
love it. I mean, it'll be fun, but it'll be
a little bit of a letdown.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
It's fun to see it in the big on the
big screen. It was really funny again, even though we
know it all. That's why we're there. We're fanatics. Obviously,
it's cool.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
To watch it with strangers. You also have that common bond.
You're all laughing at the exact same things that you know.
Some of the lines are being shouted out in the theater.
The claps are done every time the theme song plays.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
I mean, it's fine that that was fun and then
a little bucket of popcorn if you want.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
But yeah too.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
But yeah, at the end, if there's not really anything extra,
I think we're gonna also have that shared experience of
what was that?
Speaker 1 (15:50):
So, what are we gonna do with the two extra tickets?
Speaker 2 (15:53):
Sam? Do you want to come along? What are you
doing tonight?
Speaker 4 (15:54):
No?
Speaker 2 (15:55):
No, I've got friends. I've got friends, will come along.
Speaker 3 (15:57):
Down outside and scalp them.
Speaker 4 (16:00):
That's okay, coming up with Murphy's Dam Jody.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
Another Hollywood outsider for you on the way, and also,
keep the Wow Wednesday continues, Michelle took the coolest homecoming
picture of her son and his friends. Tell you about that.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
Next, you know, Jody, if you really wanted to, you
could call us to keep the Wild Wednesday.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
Let's do it. Keep the wout show?
Speaker 1 (16:21):
What is keep the Wow again?
Speaker 2 (16:23):
Okay? I will tell you the first time ever. It's
my motto. It's something I started telling myself years ago,
and I think, you know, you guys picked up on
and so let's keep the Wow. So one of the
first times I ever told myself. We were leaving one
of those conferences we went to years ago, and this
is one of the ones, I think on the Disney
property and I felt very inspired. There were some really good,
(16:44):
you know, sort of positive motivation speeches about work and life,
and I was feeling very wild.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
Was that the year the band air supply was there.
Speaker 3 (16:55):
No, Murphy and I were not feeling wow.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
No, well we actually were because we were still.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
You had been at the bar all night for that. No, no,
no different different year. You guys might not even been
with me this time. I don't know, but I was
leaving there thinking, I want to keep this feeling. I
don't know, keep I want to remember, keep this because
I'm so wowed, and keep the wow. So that's how
it started.
Speaker 1 (17:19):
As long as Jody and I've been married, I never
knew that story.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
Yeah, so it it's just something I told myself. You know.
It was a private thing for me. So in your life,
remember to keep the moments that make you feel wild,
whether it's you feel proud of yourself, you just did
something and it gives you confidence, keep it, keep it
alive inside, like it's what you tell yourself, you know.
So we asked about how you keep the wow on
our Facebook page, and there's some really cool ones. Alyssa
(17:43):
recently got to swim with dolphins and Kozamel Cosmell Cozmel
and she sent us a picture. Keep that that is cool.
You did that. I'm dying to know how they felt
let us know. And my favorite one that I've seen
online recently was from Michelle the other So it was
homecoming weekend the other day, just like can you Sam
(18:04):
at their high school and her son begged talked me
into letting him take our sixty five Mustang to homecoming.
It's a convertible red sixty five Mustang. And yeah, they
got everybody together, so it's like, you know, four boys,
four girls and they all posed and that's the coolest
homecoming picture. Go check it out on our Facebook page.
(18:26):
And yeah, that's a while that he will keep forever
because you mom said he could do it. Coming out Hollywood,
Prince Harry tired of the way the British press is
treating his wife Megan Margles to find out what he's
doing about it, putting that royal foot down.
Speaker 6 (18:43):
Next Jody's Hollywood Outsider, Prince.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
Harry is not messing around. Did you hear about this?
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are suing The Daily Mail,
a British newspaper that published excerpts from a private letter
that Meghan wrote to her father earlier this year, and
Harry is putting his royal foot down. This is the
statement from Harry, whether he wrote it or someone wrote
it for him. I think he wrote it. I've seen
(19:10):
what happens when someone I love is commoditized to the
point that they are no longer treated or seen as
a real person. He's talking about his mother, right, I
lost my mother and now I watched my wife falling
victim to the same powerful forces they're suing.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
Yeah, he's they've been fed real loud wow, because these tabloids.
You call it a paper, but it's a tabloid. Right.
They've been on Megan's case since the get go.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
They're looking for to Smearhart.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
Yeah, and they've done all kinds of stuff that's bent
the truth. Now they found something that look, you know what,
we got a legal right here, so we're going to sue, right.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
And so I mean, do you want the royals coming
after you? I don't think so. And there's no word
on whether it was like Megan Markle's father that leaked
this letter or how they got it. But they published
parts of it that were real and then left out
big chunks of it, so it's way out of context.
Speaker 3 (19:56):
They left out sentences, they left out names, and so
it all sound It makes it sound even worse.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
I'd be scared if I was the Daily Mail, royally scared.
Speaker 4 (20:04):
Murphy, Sam and Jody your.
Speaker 3 (20:06):
Hollywood, Pamela, We're coming to you next eight seven seven
three one oh four MSJ.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
Give us a call anytime. Eight seven seven three one
zero four MSJ.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
What's going on, Pamela, Just.
Speaker 7 (20:22):
Say good morning, congratulations on your upcoming anniversary.
Speaker 2 (20:26):
Thank you.
Speaker 7 (20:28):
My favorite thing about bed and breakfast's not that you care,
but if you did, I do. Yeah. Just reconnection, you know, yeah,
turn off your cell phone, no TV, no laptops, no tablets. Yeah,
and well, vacuum love with the person that's you're married to.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
This is true, and this is the plan, Pamela. There's
a front porch where we're staying. I'm all about it.
Speaker 1 (20:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
There's a claw foot bathtub all about that. I'll be
sinking into that. There's even this little shop that we
go in there where somebody in that community makes real gingerbread.
And don't think I don't buy a slice every time
we go. It's so good.
Speaker 7 (21:10):
And that's the best, isn't it? You know, just like.
Speaker 2 (21:16):
It's a sleepy little town man. Yeah, my heart rate
slows down and thinking about it.
Speaker 7 (21:22):
Like just ex hell, I just think that such a
testament to we have to be if parents. We don't
only have to show our children how much we love them,
but how much we love each other.
Speaker 2 (21:34):
Yeah, we started all this so and they're gonna go
off and live their own lives and we're gonna be
like you again.
Speaker 3 (21:43):
Another day.
Speaker 2 (21:45):
You're right, we're gonna have to feed it. We're gonna
feed it. Thank you, Sam cannot come along.
Speaker 3 (21:49):
Yes, let me know how that works.
Speaker 1 (21:51):
Jody, thank you, Pamela. It's I think we've done a
good job of Even our girls have said that to
us before that they they know they see how well.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
Actually Taylor once said, I think that you guys have
the best relationship ever. We were like, thanks Sweedie, and.
Speaker 1 (22:08):
We're putting down smartphones and all those things, just like pa.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
Wait wait, wait wait, I want to say, coming up
in November, Murphy and there's a very big football game
on that weekend, so we'll we'll watch TV at one point.
That's okay with you from the porch. You got it, yeah, baby,
eight seven seven three one zero four MSJ anytime you
want to jump in. Guys ready for three to know
Today October might as well be called tech Toober. Today,
(22:34):
Microsoft's going to roll out that new surface laptop tablet,
the dual screen. I guess it's bendable too, And it's
Techtober because everybody's updating. We've got new stuff coming from GoPro,
from Facebook, from Amazon, even Roku and Google gonna be
rolling out new stuff.
Speaker 3 (22:52):
Robaku is putting out this new soundbar that's going to
have the Roku built in, so you won't need two
devices and all the wires.
Speaker 2 (22:58):
Ah, somebody's excited, but it's one hundred and eighty bucks.
All right, You guys know who. Matthew Knowles is beyond
that's right, doing an interview on Good Morning America this
morning about his personal battle with breast cancer. He's got
breast cancer and it's rare in men. Nine of the
cans are women, So he's, you know, talking about that today.
(23:19):
You'll hear more, you know, after that. And we all
know who Lynn Manuel Miranda is moving on here from
Hamilton or pardon me, you knew he was working on
a new hip hop show for Broadway while it opens today.
It's called Freestyle Love Supreme. He wrote it all but
the performers take suggestions from the audience and they do
(23:40):
improv with music and comedy, so it's like instantaneous riffs.
So like it'll be a different show every night.
Speaker 1 (23:48):
It'll be another hit too.
Speaker 4 (23:50):
Yeah, Sam has music news.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
Yeah, Mariah Carey is going to take her Christmas show
on the road this year. Let you know where you're
gonna be able to find it.
Speaker 4 (23:59):
Sam's gotten us.
Speaker 3 (24:00):
You know, we're anxiously waiting Frozen two coming out in
November twenty second, and they have announced that their soundtrack
will come out on the fifteenth this year or week
before that.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
You know.
Speaker 3 (24:10):
Of course, last time we have a song that we
never could get rid of.
Speaker 2 (24:15):
Money Go.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
Do you think it's gonna be brought back in some way?
Speaker 3 (24:20):
Maybe? But what they're already touting is we have the
let it Go for the movie number two, and it's
called Into the Unknown.
Speaker 4 (24:28):
Every Day's Little Harder? Does it feel much?
Speaker 8 (24:32):
Wow?
Speaker 2 (24:32):
It sounds exactly like the same movie, same writers, the
same singer.
Speaker 3 (24:36):
Yeah, Adele Jasim singing that one all right? Well, what's
cool is this time in addition to the cast singing
different songs, they've added three songs that'll play over the
final credits. Nice this song into The Unknown will also
be redone by Panic at the disco Yeah Baby and
play over the end credits. Casey Muskraves has a song
over the end credits, and then Weezer is going to
(24:58):
have a song over the end credits.
Speaker 2 (25:00):
Not Africa.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
Apparently it's going to be three long songs over those
end credits, so it's a lot of end credits though,
stay for the credits. Okay for this one. Now we're
moving on to Christmas.
Speaker 2 (25:10):
Yay.
Speaker 3 (25:10):
Mariah Carey's announced that she's got a limited run Christmas
tour plan this year.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
Now, we already know. She's got the deluxe edition, the
twenty fifth anniversary edition of Merry Christmas, coming out in November.
First her original album, Yeah, with a bunch of new
stuff including a concert BBD or CD and included in there.
And she's already announced. She announced a while back that
she's going to do some of her coliseum at Caesar's
for like a week at the end of November doing
the Christmas show. Now she's going to take it to
(25:38):
Atlantic City. She's going to take it to Madison Square
Garden in December. So if you happen to be in
the area, you have checked out. I would love to
see that.
Speaker 2 (25:46):
You have to know this about the Mariah Carey show
though one of my friends went last year or was
it two years ago when she toured with Lionel Richie.
And anytime she's due on stage, she's at least forty
five minutes late. Sho you have extra time at the
US to runt before you've got time because Mariah Carey
is on her own clos Maria.
Speaker 1 (26:06):
Isn't she worth the way? Though?
Speaker 2 (26:07):
Well see, I don't know. I've never seen her live.
Speaker 3 (26:09):
Actually, you have seen her live on New Year's Eve, remember.
Speaker 1 (26:18):
That's right, that's where the music messed up.
Speaker 2 (26:20):
Yeah, yeah, she was fighting mad about that.
Speaker 4 (26:24):
Murphy Salmon Jody Music News.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
Love to visit with you, so give us a call
any time eight seven seven three one zero four ms
J And if we miss your call, you can of
course leave us voicemail because we check those two Murphy
Salmon Jody on four hour voicemail.
Speaker 8 (26:43):
Hi guys, this is Lisa. I just wanted to thank
y'all for sharing Jody's Pappau's song from the podcast. I
just wanted to say that when I heard him, it's
reminded me of listening to Johnny. So kudos and Katy
(27:04):
belated birthday tone and thank you for putting on such
a great show.
Speaker 1 (27:09):
Thank you, Lisa. We appreciate that Jody's grandfather's ninety and
he plays guitar mostly ministering is what he.
Speaker 2 (27:14):
Does, almost all gospel.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
It's funny that Lisa says Johnny Cash because he loves
Johnny Cash.
Speaker 2 (27:20):
He does like Johnny watch hard. In fact, that's a
that's a huge compliment to him. I'm gonna have to
make sure he hears this, and Cash, of course he can.
Now have I ever heard him do it? I can't remember,
because when he picks up a guitar he ministers, he
wants to sing about Jesus and it's these older like
(27:41):
I know them because I because he's my grandfather. It's
not a it's not songs that are current, not in
the current book.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
But we had Johnny Cash playing at his ninetieth birthday party.
It was mixed in with some of the gospel tunes
and things that he likes.
Speaker 2 (27:58):
You know, when he was still willing to watch a
new movie because he doesn't care for new stuff anymore,
new movies, but he loved walk.
Speaker 1 (28:07):
The Line did he really even with the language in it?
Speaker 2 (28:09):
Yeah, I mean he's ninety years old, he's heard everything.
But I remember my favorite comment that he made about that.
He said, that was a good movie. And I love
that family, that Carter family. And he says, but I
can tell you that girl who played June Carter, she's
a lot prettier than the real June Carter said that.
I'm like, he just liked Reese.
Speaker 3 (28:29):
No, you know what I said this before. I've been
watching the Country thing on PBS and they go back
to when June was younger.
Speaker 2 (28:37):
She is gorgeous, gorgeous. Yeah, he must have just liked
Reese especially anyway, thank you for leaving that voicemail in
case you did miss it, or you want to go
grab the podcast. Here's a little bit of Papa may.
Speaker 1 (28:49):
Grace. Oh sweet, almost sounds like Johnny Cash.
Speaker 2 (28:55):
I thought, so, I'm.
Speaker 3 (28:59):
Kill me yeah with Murphy Salmon, Jody, I'll tell you
a story about what my oldest son wants me to
do with him. That's kind of a weird father son bonding.
Speaker 1 (29:07):
Okay, Sam, come hang out with us later today for
another episode of the Murphy Sam and Jody After the
Show podcast.
Speaker 3 (29:15):
I enjoy my daddy daughter daddy son moments whenever they
come along. I think I could be creative and come
up with some occasionally.
Speaker 2 (29:24):
When you get to have one on one time, especially.
Speaker 3 (29:26):
Right, Yeah, because usually in the weekends it's all the
little the teenagers, that's the little kids, the teens, the younger.
Speaker 1 (29:32):
So you know, well, you've got quite the spread there.
You've got some in their thirties and you've got some
in their teens.
Speaker 3 (29:37):
Yeah, I got the spread. But my oldest Sammy, he
said he heard us talking about me and getting another tattoo. Yeah,
the Suija Pama on my hand, you know, the first
initials of all my kids. And so he called me
up and he said, you know, I've been looking to
get a tattoo as well. And I know he's told
me in the past, but he says he now knows
(29:57):
he wants to get the word discipline tattooed.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
Oh that's interesting and would.
Speaker 3 (30:02):
Serve as a constant reminder, does you know, stay diligent
at work and at home and working out and playing basketball.
Speaker 2 (30:08):
Where on his body does he want it?
Speaker 3 (30:10):
He doesn't know yet where he wants to be able
to see it though, And of course then he starts.
Then he starts this, well, should I get it done
backwards so that in the mirror I can read it.
I was like, no, no, no, no, no, no no no, no,
no no no, no, first mistake right there. But anyway,
his idea is, since I want to get one and
he wants to get one.
Speaker 2 (30:27):
Ah tattoos, so let's go do it together.
Speaker 3 (30:29):
Have a bonding moment.
Speaker 2 (30:31):
That's cute, that's sweet. You should be flattered.
Speaker 3 (30:34):
Yeah, and right do that?
Speaker 1 (30:35):
I mean, is there you know? I mean, if you
can you have two artists in the same place.
Speaker 3 (30:39):
Or we can get the same person. And he does it,
and then I'd do it because mine's not going to
take too long, maybe a half hour at the most.
But I thought, you know, it'd be great because I
started giving him advice on well, you need to look
for this kind of place you need to put in it.
I'm thinking, well, if we go together then because he's
also a little bit more report exactly, he's kind of nervous.
He says, does it really hurt? And I was like,
at first, it does, but you get used to the pain.
Speaker 1 (31:04):
Is that the sound?
Speaker 3 (31:04):
Yeah, that is the sound of a tattoo needle? Machine.
That's a need Yeah, it's.
Speaker 2 (31:10):
A needle with an artist holding that machine. Yeah, well
that's you should I think you should be flattered, Sam,
because he really wants your moral support. It's a big
deal to him and he wants you there. I would
take him up on it.
Speaker 3 (31:20):
Come on, you little thirty year old, let's.
Speaker 4 (31:22):
Go coming up. You're Hollywood.
Speaker 2 (31:26):
Tell you why. Chris Hemsworth, also known as Thor, wants
Miley Cyrus to leave his little brother alone.
Speaker 6 (31:34):
Judy's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 2 (31:36):
Do you hear that Molly Cyrus is upset?
Speaker 4 (31:38):
Thor?
Speaker 2 (31:39):
I came in apparently a little bit of truth to this. Okay,
So Miley Cyrus blew up her marriage to Liam Hemsworth
and since then she's been posting all kinds of little
subtle digs about him online and saying, look, he's got
all these addiction issues. She texts him at random, she's
got a breakup song and it's Leah has not budged,
(32:01):
He's not been He has to take the bait.
Speaker 3 (32:03):
He really hasn't jumped in on this one.
Speaker 2 (32:05):
No, he's in Australia whatever getting his chill on. But
his brother, Chris Hemsworth, also known as Thor to the
world and his wife Elsa. They are tired of it
and they have let Miley know and know uncertain terms
to just stop it and leave him alone, leave Liam alone,
to let him heal. That's kind of a cute for
(32:27):
a brother to Yeah, it really really is, especially when
your brother is Thor.
Speaker 4 (32:31):
Up to date with Shodie's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 2 (32:36):
We love hearing from you. Jump in any time eight
seven seven three, one zero four MSJA or hit us
up on Facebook or Instagram.
Speaker 4 (32:44):
It's shine for the producer's.
Speaker 2 (32:45):
Mailed Bailey, you're up again? What's in that mail? Back today?
Speaker 5 (32:48):
Well, as we all know, when Walmart puts out the
Christmas decorations, Halloween is coming.
Speaker 2 (32:55):
True and Christmas Day corps are in stores now simultaneous.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
Oh look, I had a big inflatable Santa Claus flating
in my face at a home improvement store this weekend.
Speaker 2 (33:04):
Was it a blow up?
Speaker 1 (33:05):
Yes? You need to have to bring yes?
Speaker 5 (33:08):
Yeah, okay, Well we hear a Murphy Sam and Jody
like to bring in the Halloween or not Halloween but
just October with Sam's picture of the Jason mask or what.
Speaker 2 (33:19):
That's not Jason, that's Michael Myers, and Sam wears it well.
And so Sam walked in here what yesterday October first,
with that mask on? So I posted it.
Speaker 5 (33:27):
Yeah, Maureen says scary with an exclamation mark. Do you
really have to work with this guy?
Speaker 2 (33:32):
Yes, Michael Myers is still my favorite scary man ever.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
Yeah, I don't know why.
Speaker 2 (33:38):
Gary says, don't forget to wait Green Day.
Speaker 9 (33:42):
Wake me up in September And oh okay, Kim says Sam.
That mask that you're wearing might actually be the look
that you need to get a date. Not sure she's
trying to say here, she's just.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
Picking on you. Don't take that.
Speaker 1 (33:58):
That'll keep everybody out of the coffee shop.
Speaker 2 (34:00):
Yeah, that is scary. Masks are scary if they're in
the wrong spot. Do you know that they're one? Especially
that one's especially scary. But I've seen people hang them
on their mirrors of their cars and it looks like
that's coming at you if you look in the rear view,
and I don't I'm I don't like that for children.
Speaker 1 (34:17):
I just don't understand how the how that's Captain Kirk.
What am I missing about that mask?
Speaker 2 (34:22):
That was a mask that was William Shatner from Star
Trek Captain Kirk and then then it was misshapen. It
was it was stretched out and misshapen, which also is
part of the reason it looks so creepy. It has
nothing new with Wolf Shatner.
Speaker 3 (34:36):
And the fact that you can't see any facial expressions.
I learned that last year when I wore it the
soulless mask.
Speaker 2 (34:42):
Yeah, you're right, because no matter if you were laughing
underneath that, nobody could tell. Yeah. Well, thank you for
the October love on our Facebook page and Instagram. We
love hearing from you there.
Speaker 4 (34:54):
Sam's got music news.
Speaker 3 (34:56):
You know, David Lee Roth has got a residency coming
up in Vegas, kicking off after the first of the year.
It's like nine or ten dates, and so they keep
bugging him like, okay, well what about Van Halen getting
back together? And there's been this talk that there's a
reunion tour coming up. Sure David now says it's been canceled.
Van Halen is finished.
Speaker 2 (35:13):
Wait. Wait, he can't say that his.
Speaker 1 (35:17):
Residency is canceled or the tour van Halen is.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
Cancing, the band is over. That's not his call to make.
He's not a Van Halen I know That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (35:27):
Nobody can get a word out of Eddie or Alex
like is it over? Is it not over? But he said,
you know what, come to Vegas because I'm gonna be
playing all the Van hale In tunes.
Speaker 1 (35:35):
You're gonna love him. I was the lead singer, not
that other guy.
Speaker 2 (35:40):
That other guy was just as good as a lead singer.
Speaker 3 (35:43):
Yeah. Well he doesn't have a Vegas residence all.
Speaker 2 (35:45):
He doesn't have to. I think that all Van Halen
music was great and it all stood up. Does that
make sense? Stands up? Thank you? Sam?
Speaker 3 (35:53):
All right?
Speaker 1 (35:57):
Yeah, Sam, yesterday was mentioning something on the show. But
about is his iPhone? The iOS had an update.
Speaker 3 (36:05):
Oh yeah, how awesome it is, Murphy.
Speaker 1 (36:06):
Yeah, and uh, and so you took an update yesterday
that introduced something new that you didn't previously have on
the phone.
Speaker 2 (36:12):
Right.
Speaker 3 (36:12):
Yeah. It's a it's kind of like a robocall blocker.
Speaker 1 (36:15):
Yeah, you turn it.
Speaker 3 (36:16):
On and that any number, any phone call you get
from a number that's not in your contact attack. So
that's the usual number. It's going straight to voicemail. Won't
even ring on my phone. It just goes to voicemail
and I didn't.
Speaker 1 (36:29):
I did not want to burst your bubble yesterday because
you were so excited about all this.
Speaker 2 (36:33):
But here comes to burst a smell it, break out
the pen.
Speaker 1 (36:36):
This has been part of Android now for the better
part of two years. Maybe, yeah, it's I've been able
to block those, but I've not done that. The reason
I haven't is because occasionally you will get a friend
or somebody who calls that different numbers, right exactly, that's
not in your in your contact list. But you know
I didn't, you know, I mean, knowing how much you love.
Speaker 3 (36:58):
No, I'm I'm strutting around here, but because I like
the fact that I can now do this. Yeah, when
when they announced iOS thirteen and all the things that'll do,
a lot of the articles I read said, but you
could do most of this already on a Google, on
a AH Galaxy, on an Android, or on a Pixel phone.
So it's like it's great for us, but y'all have
been able to do it.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
Yeah, So it was like, I it's instead of iOS thirteen,
it's really iOS catch up this time right every time?
Speaker 3 (37:24):
Every time?
Speaker 1 (37:28):
Thanks for having us on while you work. Never miss
a thing. You can always go back and catch Today's
show on the Murphy, Sam and Jody podcast, and we
do a brand new episode every day of after the show.
Speaker 2 (37:37):
Yeah, listen when it's convenient for you. It's free to
grab it.
