Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Murphy Salmon Jody Daily Show Podcast. You know,
when vacation is over.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Have you Yeah, I know it hurts.
Speaker 3 (00:10):
Have you ever done a like a financial breakdown wrap
up of your vacation, Murphy?
Speaker 1 (00:15):
Does you do?
Speaker 4 (00:17):
Well?
Speaker 1 (00:17):
Of course if you call looking at the bill and
going oh my god, the financial wrap up, yeah, that's.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
Normal, right, yeah, okay, of course I went on. You know,
I just got back from Chicago with my son Sammy.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Yeah, well it's just like a financial audit. Here are
you figuring out what you're going to make him pay
for it? No? No, no.
Speaker 4 (00:35):
Versus man.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
We were burning up VENMOI. I'd buy two admissions to this,
He'd reimburse me half. He'd buy two admissions, I'd.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Reimburse it works out. Even money was.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
Just going back and forth in my venmo. I was
waiting for a Hey, is this really you? When vacation
was over, Sammy sends me this message with the pie chart,
with a pie chart and a complete breakdown of everything
he spent on vacation.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
Oh whoa, And it's like that's him doing it.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
Yeah, And I was like, what When I finished vacation,
I just move on to the next.
Speaker 4 (01:11):
I mean, I'm not going to go back.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
And look and say it's actually smart to do that.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
It's smart, but you know, usually the budgeting part you
do upfront, right, I mean that's kind.
Speaker 4 (01:20):
Of what his money already spent.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
Yeah, you can look out and go, oh, we could
cut back on air transport.
Speaker 4 (01:27):
No you can't. You spend it already.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
Yeah, you can do the budgeting up front, but we
all know it's usually more expensive than you intended.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
There's a margin of area.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
Yeah, especially like when you're on a cruise ship and
you're sailing what do you call that thing?
Speaker 4 (01:40):
We go, yeah, the last day when it hits you,
oh boy.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
You know how we've talked about vacation eating, like you know,
you spent I found on this trip. That's what I did,
vacation eating, But it was also vacation spending. It's like
we'd go somewhere whatever. Whoa, that's a little expensive for
this admission, but we're let's do it. But it's like,
I've never broken it down. He's got a color coded
and everything, so you are.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
You tempted to copy this?
Speaker 3 (02:08):
And you know, I just brought this thing because I
was like I got to show this to somebody.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
I love that. So he built a spreadsheet. It's not
like he's using a program like Monarch Money or something
like that. No clue what he did.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
But here's here's the line that Murphy, you're gonna love.
If a meal was sixty dollars, I would mark the
first twenty is food and the rest is vacation.
Speaker 4 (02:28):
That was like, it's all food, it.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Is all it's all vacation.
Speaker 4 (02:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
Man.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
His thinking there was, you know, twenty dollars, that's about
what we'd spend normally.
Speaker 4 (02:38):
But it's like, it's food food.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
I love that though he's he that's his it brain
working right there, isn't that's his I love spreadsheets.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
He does that on the back and not up front.
Speaker 4 (02:48):
Pray here.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
I don't know if you guys have ever entered into
sort of an agreement or an entertainment showdown sort of thing,
but I am in one a show to let me
explain my cousin, Crystal. I had the opportunity to hang
out with her and Canvas, her sister, the other day,
and for years I've been trying to get Crystal to
watch Game of Thrones, okay, and she's not interested. She's
(03:14):
anti dragons, anti medieval, anti fantasy like that, which.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
Is interesting because she's a very diverse reader of books.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
Of course, but you know, and so like. Look when
I caught her reading those dragon school books that are
popular now, the Wing Fourth Wing, I was like, what,
excuse me, ma'am, you can watch Game of Thrones. Now,
I'm not asking you to read it, because that's a commitment,
but you could watch it. And she has been against
it for a long time reason, I don't know. She
(03:45):
just wasn't didn't care about it.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
Well, maybe she understands, you know, what happens early on
to ned Stark and.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Doesn't know that yet downhill from there only a couple
of episodes in don't say that.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
Oh is she watching it?
Speaker 2 (03:56):
So we're in an agreement. She's been asking me to
watch on a couple the Morning show for years.
Speaker 5 (04:03):
Good morning, I'm bringing you some sad.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
This is the Jennifer Aniston Show Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon.
And I did watch an episode when it first landed,
and I just didn't care enough. I wasn't into it.
She said the same, But now she is completely addicted
to it. She even told me it's still going on
like they're not even done yet. She said John Hamm
made an appearance, oh on, because she was selling me
hard on that one.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
Do you have to do? You have to give yourself
a moment to get past past the fact. Okay, this
isn't Rachel Green. I catch Jenniferson in a different role
because we're friends fanatics too.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
You would. But I'm going to say this. The other
day at dinner, we're all like having mimosas, and she's like, fine,
if you'll watch the Morning Show, I'll watch Game of Thrones.
So we are in this agreement now. Isn't that cool?
Speaker 1 (04:49):
How many seasons are there of the Morning Show?
Speaker 4 (04:52):
I give a loss of a commitment on your part.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
She doesn't care. Don't bring that up. Okay, I texted
her last night. Look I can get to it this weekend.
She's like, I'm already a couple episodes in, so we're
It's just I've never been in a in a dare
you to watch this? Dare you to watch that sort
of agreement? But that's where we are.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
It'll be interesting to see. My bet is both of
you are probably gonna go thanks.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
All right? Coming up next your Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 5 (05:20):
The Latest Buzz Jody's Hollywood Outsider Sam.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
If you're looking for a new true crime documentary to binge,
there is a three part docuseries on Paramount Plus playing
now called The Real Wolf of Wall Street, based on
the real person Jordan Belfort, played by Leonardo DiCaprio so
famously in the movie My Name is Jordan Belfort. You're right,
Turn twenty six, I mean forty million movie movie.
Speaker 4 (05:46):
He should have won an oscar for.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
Correct and he knows it. He knows it. So this
is three parts. It's the docuseries drawing on thousands of
FBI documents, archival footage, interviews everybody, even his wife, ex
wife Nadine, who was played played by Margot Robbie. She's interviewed,
not Margo, but the real ex wife.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
So I'm trying to remember the actual story here. It
was just a Wall Street scam that he was running.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
He was defrauding thousands of Americans of all of their
life savings. Okay, it's fraud, and he started with like
penny stocks. So this documentary takes the movie like almost
seen by scene and addresses what.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
The reality to the movie.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
Yes, Oh, so you're going to find out, you know
that some of the most outrageous moments were actually toned
down from reality. You're going to find that some of
them were invented out right.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
I'm sure they were in Bellist Yeah, some parts.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
Of it were depicted exactly. But it is streaming now.
It's called The Real Wolf of Wall Street.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
That's a cool idea. Coming up next, Sam is the
food dude.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
McDonald's has a new dipping sauce coming, and you're gonna
want to put this on everything.
Speaker 5 (06:54):
Sam's always up on the new eats. He's the food dude.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
You've gotta start off with a couple of sauces here
introducing McDonald's is introducing Caesar sauce next week.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
Now.
Speaker 4 (07:05):
They used to tell what caesar.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
Dressing when they did salads, but that now they haven't
done salads for like six years.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
Please tell me it's strong. If you're gonna do Caesar,
it needs to slap you in.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
The farmersan zesty lemon, bold garlic flavors. I don't see
anything about dead fish in.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
Here, butchoes well, look, you know the thing is is
a fast food restaurant. You kind of have to stay
in the middle, right, You've got to be able to
please please everybody, so you can't go to one extreme
or the other. And I think if your if your
expectations are Italian restaurant, Jody, you probably need to go
to an Italian.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
Restaurant, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (07:38):
Most Italian restaurants don't have a drive for it. It's
gonna be the little cup that you can get as
a side cup. But they're also introducing a bacon Caesar
mccrispy sandwich, a Caesar chicken wrap, a snack wrap, and
mccrispy strips with the Caesar sauce fairy ball.
Speaker 4 (07:53):
Next Tuesday.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
Here's the wacky one Buffalo wild wings. Next Monday, they're
introducing pop and ranch.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
It's popping ranch.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
Yeah, it's a combination of ranch and those pop rocks.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
So you can get your.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
Yeah, you can get your chicken wings and you can
and it's gonna come in a little packet like a powder,
so you can get whatever sauce you want on your
wings and you sprinkle. It's popping ranch on there. So
when you're eating your chicken.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
Wings, pop.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
It tastes like ranch, but it pops in your mouth.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
It's worth to try to see I guess it's just
a sensory thing. It's a gimmicky thing.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
It's a gimmicky Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
And you get a couple of those packs, you can
put them on anything, really, Yeah, just wing.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
You can really freak up people at parties.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
Today is corn Dog Day at Sonic. In fact, today,
next Thursday and the following Thursday are all ninety nine
cent corn dogs at Sonic participating locations.
Speaker 4 (08:44):
I don't know why July.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
I don't know if it's corn Well, yesterday was National
Hot Dog Day, so corn dogs need to have their
day because they're incredible.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
Krispy Kreme has Girl Scout Donuts out right now. They
have a thin mint donuts, a limon up donut, and
a coconut caramel donut. You can get them at Crusty.
But they're also putting in those six packs Tho's half
dozens that they sell it like Target and Walmart.
Speaker 4 (09:05):
Okay, so on the way out there.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Yeah, the ones that are all sweating in the packages.
Those r and Reese's pieces. We get in a new
flavor of Reese's Pieces with chocolate cookie inside. It's gonna
have the peanut butter but also chocolate cookie crunches inside.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
Okay, thank you food dude.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
Up next, Jody has three things to note today.
Speaker 5 (09:25):
Three things to note today.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
Number one, the Common Sense Act has been passed by
the House and now heads to the Senate. It's since cents.
Speaker 4 (09:35):
Oh, is this what we're getting rid of the penny?
Speaker 2 (09:36):
This is a bill responding to the phase out of
the penny that would let businesses round cash transactions to
the nearest nickel. So it's a more clear rule. Okay,
And remember the last penny was minted in November of
twenty twenty five, so it has to head to the
Senate now. But who's going to oppose that? Number two,
(09:56):
back to basics for Americans. Apparently we're all feeling overwhelmed
with the constant stream of health advice and apps and
health maxing and sleep maxing and all of this. So
the word is we're focusing on the basics, which is
the way to go, which is the only way get
enough sleep, exercise regularly, you know, eat well. Can't beat
(10:18):
the basics. No, you can max out if you want to.
But and number three, this was just announced that Post
Malone will be headlining the World Cup closing ceremony. I
mean we already know, like Robbie Williams is going to
be a part of it. Jennifer Hudson. We heard about
Tom Cruise being a part of it. Somehow, we don't
know what that means. Probably a stunt, like you had said, Sam.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
Standing on top of the stadium.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
Maybe so. But post Malone will headline And of course
this is all happening on Sunday.
Speaker 5 (10:47):
You're up to date. Three things to know Today. Follow
us on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
We read and see every single thing that rolls in,
even to Murphy Samon Jody dot com to get to
some emails. This is from Liz on the subject of
hot dogs, which we've touched on in Food Dude, and
it was National hot Dog Day yesterday. She says, when
I was pregnant, I smelled the hot dog at a
baseball game and had to have it. It had grilled onions,
Dijon mustard, and bacon on it. The best twenty bucks
(11:18):
I ever spent, and I dreamed of that hot dog
for the rest of my pregnancy.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
That's a variation that works. I would love to try that.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
Look, different parts of the country have different dogs and
different toppings, and certainly ballparks Chicago dog have different dogs.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
And in fact, the White Sox game we went to
on a Tuesday, it was five dollars Tuesday.
Speaker 4 (11:40):
Five dollars hot dogs.
Speaker 1 (11:41):
And how were the hot dogs?
Speaker 4 (11:43):
Like a five dollars hot dog?
Speaker 2 (11:44):
Okay, what did you put on it?
Speaker 4 (11:46):
Standard hot dog?
Speaker 2 (11:47):
But what did you put on it?
Speaker 4 (11:48):
I put mayo on mine?
Speaker 2 (11:50):
Oh okay, I'm sorry. Nobody likes There's no wrong.
Speaker 1 (11:54):
There's and Djon mustard to me is a great on
a sausage type, you know, a bun instead of just
a hot dog.
Speaker 4 (12:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
Well, thank you, Liz, so Jody, this is for you
from Don. She says, I was listening to your show
this morning and you talked about reselling books. A great
place to donate books is BetterWorld Books dot com co.
Money raise from those books that they resell goes to
fund new books for school libraries. You can also purchase
books from them hardback and paperback. During one of their sales,
(12:24):
I bought the entire Harry Potter collection for my grandson,
all in hardback, excuse me, all on hardback for twenty
seven dollars and the books look brand new.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
That is an incredible deal.
Speaker 4 (12:37):
Ok.
Speaker 1 (12:37):
She says, I love your show and listen every day.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
Thank you, Don, thank you, don appreciate it. Say the
name of the website again.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
For me, Better World books dot com. I've not checked
it out yet to see you.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
Oh, we're going to get on there. I love a
used bookstore. And you know, the last day we were
in New York, I realized there was like a four
story bookstore that I wanted to go to, and it was, oh,
we didn't have time, Like, we didn't have time, and
it was new use everything, secret rooms where you could
sit and read and like just discover things. Oh, I
(13:07):
could get lost in there.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
Reach out to us anytime. We'd love to hear from you.
Coming up seven to fifty, Jody has three things to
know today and next your morning pick me up.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
If you struggle with making decisions, ways to narrow down
and make that easier so you stop overthinking, that's the
pick me up next morning pick me up time. Raise
your hand if you're an overthinker. I'm laughing because Sam,
Sam was gonna go up.
Speaker 4 (13:32):
I wasn't sure if I should raise it or not.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
I am. I think I'm an overthinker.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
Also, of course you are, Murphy. Yes, we all are.
That's why we're birds of a feather.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
What's weird is I'm not an overthinker in all things though,
Like I made an impulse by on eBay the other day.
You don't even know about it yet, Jody that, yeah,
it's one I really should have thought about and overthought.
Speaker 4 (13:52):
Before obey, and Amazon he doesn't overthink.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
Yeah, okay. So the word is a lot of us
are Americans are overthinkers. We have a lot of choices
in front of us, that's true, and we have this
perfectionist thing where we think we have to make the
perfect choice. Not good. So if you would like, and
there's a psychiatrist who said, look, do the rule of
three I need you'd like the rule of three when
it comes to decision decisions, narrow your options to like
(14:17):
two or three things. Whether it's something you're wearing or
you know you're going on a trip and you have
one hundred choices, narrow it down to two or three choices,
three choices, and you can make that decision more quickly.
The second part of this is give yourself a deadline.
If it's a small decision, three minutes, if it's a
big decision, three months, three years, but give yourself deadlines.
(14:40):
You like that.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
I do like that, you know. I hope it doesn't
put too much pressure.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
On the way.
Speaker 4 (14:47):
To make a snap decision on eBay.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
And then the final one is limit outside options and opinions.
If it's whether you're to break up with somebody, don't
talk to everybody about it, if you have a couple
of trusted people, or if it's to keep a job,
or limit your you know, the outside observation.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
You're saying, too many choices mean you lock up.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
Yeah, it's too much information, especially if you're already an overthinker.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
That's a really good point to the rule of threes.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
There are three things, and all of them contain three's
lots of sort. There are your options to three, like
three shirts, three dresses, whatever, whatever you're trying to choose.
Give yourself a deadline three minutes, three days, three months,
whatever it is, just so you can remember it. And
then the three limit outside options and opinions to three. Okay,
(15:40):
do you feel better?
Speaker 1 (15:41):
I feel a lot better.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
What about you, Sam, You're just confused?
Speaker 4 (15:45):
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (15:48):
Coming up next to your Hollywood Outsider Jody's Hollywood Outsider
to celebrate its tenth anniversary. And it's going to take
you a minute to realize it's been ten years since
La La Land, starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone as
these aspiring artists who fall in love in Los Angeles.
(16:09):
Ten years huh, And you know what, it seemed like
it was an older film though it felt like an
old Me Kelly thing. It was so beautifully done. We
have to kind of be ready for that. But anyway,
and oh the music. Yeah, six Academy Awards this movie,
one for Best Director, Best Actress for Emma Stone, Best
Original Score, Best Original Song for City of Stars, and
(16:32):
some other stuff.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
Is this the one that they announced at the end
that one picture of the Year And.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
I think so, Jimmy, Yeah, wrong, it was wrong. Yeah, anyway,
that was twenty sixteen. So to celebrate its ten year anniversary,
it's coming back to theaters. Oh okay in August, So
make your plans August sixteenth. You're gonna be able to
see it in like a special Dolby Vision thing at
AMC theaters.
Speaker 3 (16:56):
Are they gonna do a special sing along too, you know,
with the words and the bounce And.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
I don't have info on that, but that makes a
lot of sense, seems, and another reason to see this movie.
The music gets in It's infectious, you know what I mean.
But also the dance numbers, yeah, are incredible. So La
La Land back in theaters in August. Will remind you
coming up.
Speaker 3 (17:18):
Next, the greatest gift a family can give mom on vacation.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
I'm telling you the greatest gift that a family can
give a mom on vacation if your summer vacation is
still to come or whatever.
Speaker 1 (17:31):
A vacation, Yeah, I'm giving.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
Her specifically though specifically, and look will detail Murphy. You
can come on vacation with me and Murphy and our
girls in today's After the Show podcast, Got to go
on vacation yesterday with Sam to Chicago. That After the
Show podcast is up there. Just search Murphy, Sam and
Jody anywhere you're listen to your podcast and you can
subscribe for free. But I'm telling you one of the
(17:54):
greatest things that happened for me this time, Murphy, and
I don't know if you realized it as much, is
that Taylor and Phoebe went with us. They are young
ladies now, and it was so beautiful for me not
to have to think I even told them. At one point,
Phoebe was very good about, you know, walking around the city,
like we're gonna go to this thrift shop now in Chelsea,
and I'm like, I have no idea where I am,
(18:16):
you know, and she's like, don't worry about it. And
I'm thinking, I don't want to think. I don't want
to pull up maps, So tell me where to go.
And she did. And I was so grateful for that
because I have to think all the time, as do
all moms and dads do too, I know, but I
mean moms are already thinking right now, what's for dinner?
Speaker 1 (18:34):
Well, and even if you're not a mom, as you know,
as somebody who has a career and works, you're always thinking,
you know what I mean, So your brain is engaged.
Speaker 2 (18:43):
I didn't want just vacation from a location. I wanted
it from a state of mind.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
Well, and here's the thing. You know, if you're not
going to think, and you're vacationing in New York, make
sure you have somebody who can think, because you are
in New York, right.
Speaker 2 (18:59):
All of you wonderful And it same thing one day
when it's like they were like you all asked me,
what do you want to do today? I'm like, tell
me what to do? And they did. They took me
thrifting in Chelsea one day on my birthday, and then
that the next day, on July fourth, we went to
a Broadway show which Taylor picked out. I'm like, great,
don't made me think? Tell me where to go and
(19:21):
what time? And that is a beautiful thing. I know.
It can't happen for a lot of vacations. If you're
a single mom, you're the adult on the vacation. You
have to think, maybe even more so, even more on guard. Sure,
if you're in a situation with your mom who's always
doing all the things, one of the best things you
can give her is the break from decision making.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
Yeah, and maybe if you're doing that for yourself. Sometimes
no thinking means literally stepping away from your normal environment
where you're doing stuff and do.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
Nothing, where things are not calling your name.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
Because if you're doing nothing, you don't have to think either.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
Right, I don't think Coming up next, three things to
know today.
Speaker 5 (20:01):
Here's three things to know today.
Speaker 2 (20:03):
Number one, Ever, wonder what yard features that you choose
irritate your neighbors. Apparently we have the results are in
for Americans. The biggest outdoor annoyances excessive lighting, bright or
unconventional like shrubberies and plants. That's weird. Here's a big one.
Neglected landscape. Yes, yes, yes, too many yard signs. To me,
(20:27):
it's too much junk. If you had junk piled up,
that would be so hard for me.
Speaker 4 (20:31):
I mean, appliance is on the front porch, just junk.
Speaker 2 (20:33):
Number two, there's a company called Boston Dynamics, and they've
got this famous robot dog and they've been testing it.
By the way, his name is Spot and you can
watch the videos. He delivers like they load boxes onto
the small belt on the back of his little back,
he walks up to the house and slides the package
on the doorstep. And they even tested it with a
carton of eggs to prove it has a soft touch.
(20:54):
And they love this because it's better than flying drones.
Flying drones drop boxes in the middle of your yard,
you know, because they can't climb stairs. But Spot can
I see robot dogs then all called Boston Dynamics. It's
just worth looking at because it is coming. That kind
of delivery is coming. And number three, the home depot
Halloween collection is available now online. You got updates on
(21:16):
the twelve foot Skelly. There's an eleven foot Mummy you
can get. There's a three piece animated Grimlins set, all
on the home depot app or the website and then
available in stores pretty soon.
Speaker 5 (21:27):
You're in the note three things to know today, social
Media connect.
Speaker 2 (21:34):
Love having you along, And you can still go back
and watch the replay of Girl Talk Tuesday from a
couple of days ago. When I went Facebook live from
the car I was running late leaving my mom's house.
Speaker 4 (21:43):
You weren't driving while you did this? Huh?
Speaker 2 (21:45):
Of course not.
Speaker 4 (21:46):
She was parked.
Speaker 1 (21:46):
I was happy. It was the first thing I looked at,
anything moving in the background.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
I would ever do that. But anyway, we did Girl
Talk Tuesday. We talked about anxiety and what a monster
that can be and what I'm learning about, you know,
the little experiences I've had with it lately. I felt like,
since when it happened, when my mom was in the
hospital and I experienced it, I felt like a door
got opened, and so now anytime something happens, it's a
(22:11):
little nerve wracking. It's like, oh, hi, that monster knocks
on my door. So I'm dealing with it, and there's
some really good comments there and advice, and I've loved it.
But I also as we wrapped up our Facebook live
the other night, I was showing everybody my necklace that
I found after seven months at Christmas time, Sam, I
lost a necklace in our house. I knew I had
lost it in our house somewhere. I used to send
(22:33):
pictures of it to my family over the first part
of the everybody, have you seen her? Please? And while
we were on vacation, I was ironing a shirt and
I looked into the corner of the room and I
saw something gleaming from underneath a cord. I got down
on my hands and knees and I found it and
I couldn't believe it. It's like it's been there for seven months.
Speaker 4 (22:53):
Figure out how it got to the corner of your room.
Speaker 1 (22:55):
Nope, I think it got knocked off the dresser or something.
I do remember stepping in something that hurt in the
middle of the night around Christmas time. I don't know
if that's what it was.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
So did you pick it up and sling it? Well?
Speaker 1 (23:06):
I didn't pick up anything. I just kind of kept walking.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
It was way way behind the dresser anyway. Deanna sent
this to our Facebook and Instagram messenger Jody, So glad
you found your necklace. My husband had a similar thing
happen with his wedding ring. He swore to me he heard
it drop in our bedroom. When I tell you, we searched,
We moved the mattress, checked under dressers, deep cleaned every
(23:29):
inch of floor gone. He got some silicon rings, and
my heart just broke a little because I had bought
him that ring months go by. We were deep cleaning
our living room, washing couch cushion covers, vacuuming out the couch.
He lifts a cushion and what is gleaming from the
crack on that couch his wedding ring. Such a relief.
Not even sure I realized how much it bothered me
(23:50):
until I felt the relief when he found it again.
Look for me. It was like I could hear your
angels sing to find a piece of lost jewelry that
I thought was gone forever.
Speaker 1 (24:01):
Well, I mean, it really kind of makes you lose
your mind because you're wondering, how could I have possibly
misplaced something like this, And when you know that you
didn't drop it or whatever.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
I have that visual mind. I thought it's in a
Christmas bag and it got thrown away. Anyway, Thank you, Deanna,
keep it coming coming up.
Speaker 1 (24:18):
Jody has another Hollywood Outsider and next I'm going to
share with you my latest mocktail obsession.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
You can call her texts to join the conversation anytime
eight seven seven three one zero four MSJ I.
Speaker 1 (24:32):
Think I have a new mocktail obsession.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
Oh, oh yeah, you sure do, Mai.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
Jody knows what I'm talking about. I just tried this.
We happened to be, you know, at the bar, which
is not a problem for me, you know, I mean,
it's actually it was Jody and Taylor and Phoebe, our daughters,
were to go one day when we were in New York.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
Still that was my birthday. We were having a drink
ta oh, that's.
Speaker 1 (24:50):
Right, yeah, that night, and so on their menu they
had a virgin Moscow mule, and so that's not something
I ever drank when I was actually drinking alcohol, and
so I ordered one.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
You never drank a mocktail now.
Speaker 1 (25:03):
And the reason I like it, I've never had it before.
I didn't realize how what a punch in the face
these things are Did you ever have those while you
were drinking or not?
Speaker 3 (25:11):
Now, the funny thing is I've had virgin ones. I've
never had them while I was drinking though.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
Well, So I don't know if you feel the same
way I do. But that ginger beer and lime juice
kick is awesome. It's just a it's spicy and it's wonderful.
And this particular version also has so a true moscow mule,
I guess is served in the copper mug ice in
you know, ginger beer, which is non alcoholic most of
it is anyway, and lime juice and then vodka. In
(25:40):
the alcoholic version, some sprig of mint will be, you know,
a garnish or lime. And then the one that we
had had a little bit of a gave syrup just
a little bit to kind of smooth things out a
little bit. And I really did, like, you know, that
version of it. So I'm hooked. And so Jody, do
you didn't realize this You've gone out of town again.
You'd gone out of town again. And I went to
(26:01):
the store and bought some ginger beer and I made
some virgin moscow mules for myself plural, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
I did. See the lime juice in the fridge, and
I thought, it's been a long time since we had
lime juice in the house, you know, because it used
to be a margarita situation.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
Does it? He went looking for the tequila.
Speaker 4 (26:19):
So did you buy some copper glasses too or that?
Speaker 1 (26:21):
I did not, but I almost did. You know how
I am when I'm into something to do that yet? Yeah, yeah,
I'm not going to do that.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
Perhaps maybe you should wait?
Speaker 1 (26:29):
Well, and I read I read something on that. There
have been studies, of course, everybody studies everything that the
acidic nature of the drink itself in a true copper
mug without aligning on the inside of it, can cause
copper to leach into the drink. But again, I don't
know how much science is behind all that. I just
I've I've read up some of that.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
You drink the motail? Just relax.
Speaker 5 (26:55):
Trending now Jody's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 2 (26:57):
We mentioned not long ago that Netflix is giving us
an animated reimagining of Cinderella called Steps about the step
Sisters who see You know, that's an interesting story that
you know, Disney really didn't touch on. So Netflix has
got one coming. And we know that Amanda Seafried is
voicing Cinderella. Ali Wong is one of the stepsisters. How fun.
(27:20):
How fun. Bett Midler will be playing the fairy Godmother.
And the big names just keep coming. They've just added
Daniel Radcliffe. We all know is Harry Potter the original?
Speaker 4 (27:31):
Is he Prince Charming?
Speaker 2 (27:32):
He's a prince? Yeah? And then maybe he is Prince Charming?
Thank you for that. And then we know that Peter
Dinklice is also joining from the world of Game of
Thrones as the villain Roderick. I don't know about the
villain and Cinderella other than the stepmother and the stepsisters,
but they go deeper into the story here, So look
(27:52):
for steps on Netflix. And by the way, it premieres
in November.
Speaker 3 (27:56):
Is it going to be like the Disney one where
they have like singing mice and stuff.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
I doubt it. I doubt it. It's probably going to
be more gritty, yeah, and more of a backstory moving on.
Jessica Alba has joined the cast of the upcoming reboot
of thirteen Going on thirty.
Speaker 5 (28:12):
I don't know what Lucy said to you about me,
but I want.
Speaker 2 (28:14):
Jennifer Garner is serving as executive producer on the project.
We don't know anything else about what Jessica Alba's doing,
but that is coming back.
Speaker 5 (28:24):
Sam Scott Music News.
Speaker 3 (28:26):
Got a really weird story about something Elton John is
up to. Apparently, according to the reports, he signed a
multimillion dollar deal for a residency at the hard Rock
Hotel in Vegas.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
This hotel, why is that weird?
Speaker 3 (28:42):
Hang on here, It doesn't open un till next year,
late next year, if it doesn't push back to twenty
twenty eight. But it's for a hologram residency. Now, the
two stories I've seen on this is it's like hologram
residency for when the hotel opens. Another one i've seen
say it says it's a hologram residency for once he
passes away. Oh so his estate will still make money
(29:06):
on this.
Speaker 2 (29:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (29:07):
Here's the real weird part is not only is he
going to be made into a hologram and they're calling
in an avatar like that Abba went over in London.
Speaker 4 (29:15):
Yeah, even though.
Speaker 3 (29:16):
It's a hologram, there are gonna be two other folks
performing with him on this hologram show. We're going to
have dua lipa we.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
Oh well for that for that for the song raw.
She's not gonna be there live every night?
Speaker 3 (29:31):
No, no, no, there they are this this fall, you know,
recording Elton and recording Dua Lipa to get their body
movements down. They're also recording Kiki D from the seventies again.
Speaker 2 (29:42):
Oh really, well you gotta so.
Speaker 3 (29:45):
I'm not just going to be Elton not there on stage.
It'll be a few people not there on stage. Last.
People are not confirming any of this yet. And even
like back in twenty eighteen, I remember him saying that
he would never do this because it was too booky
to him.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
He can change it, He can change his mind. I
guess right.
Speaker 4 (30:03):
He throw the money out there.
Speaker 2 (30:04):
Well, not just that. In those years he may be
more accepting of the technology.
Speaker 1 (30:09):
Yeah, could be.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
They could also do younger Elton too, if they want it.
I mean, he can do anything you want with one
of those. All right, Moving on, Ella Langley about to
do something than only Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston have done. No,
it's not that, but this song here choosing Texas. Yeah,
it is going to be number one for fourteen straight weeks.
(30:31):
Good and Whitney Houston with I'll Always Love You and
we Belong Together. For Mariah the only two other females
artists that have had a song go for fourteen weeks, Well,
guess what number one?
Speaker 2 (30:41):
It's good enough, it's a great song, song of this summer.
And she wrote it with Miranda Lambert. Does that not
make sense? It sounds like Miranda. Yeah, good for her.
