Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Murphy Salmon Jody Daily Show Podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Sam.
Speaker 3 (00:05):
Guess who's back at the Murphy and Jody House And
he's making me so nervous? He uncle fish man. Oh
Phoebe beta fish, Phoebe's beta fish. Phoebe's out of town
with her friends for days and she's not coming back
till the middle of the week. And the other like
to start the weekend, she walked in with him in
a cup and her and his uh, you know what
(00:27):
do you call that?
Speaker 1 (00:28):
This bowl whatever his wet habitat.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Right, And She's like, can can he stay here? Can
you feed him once a day for me for days?
And I'm like, yes, of course I can.
Speaker 4 (00:37):
Should you remember what happened last time?
Speaker 3 (00:40):
I thought he died on my watch and I called
her and told her and then I thought, oh wait,
he's alive. These things. I don't have good luck with fish,
you know that.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
Yeah, But it's somehow this particular beta fish, who we
really should call a super beta fish because he seems
to defy all the odds he does. He was just
asleep in the little you know, fake trees, laying.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
On top of the fake leaf, and so he.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
Just wanted to be comfortable.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
They do seem to sleep a lot because of their heavy, long,
you know, fins and all this train that they have
and make swimming.
Speaker 4 (01:13):
Is that real or is that joke?
Speaker 2 (01:14):
Found it online? I'm not making this up.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
They get tired with all that stuff that it says online.
Speaker 3 (01:21):
It makes swimming tiring, leading them to cast conserve energy,
so they nap a lot and they do it. They
don't have eyelids, so when they're laying on the leaf
looking at you, I thought he was dead.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
Him up And well Sam's question is valid because Jodie's
natural animal empathy really does humanize and it's like, well,
clearly he needs to rest because animals have feelings.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
Dogs do smile and they do have feelings. Dogs do
have feelings. In fact, the more the more domesticated.
Speaker 4 (01:52):
And fish get tired because they're too heavy.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
Anyway, I just want to be on the same page.
You're not feeding uncle fish man, are you? Because I
don't want to over feed him and kill him once
a day.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
I'm feeding him.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
No, I'm leaving him alone.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
One of them's a little blood worms is what that's gross? Yeah, light,
there's all kinds of stuff that she said she said,
he's fine. You can just do nothing with him like great,
Like you can put a heater in there if it
gets cold, you can you know, sing to him.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Not doing any of that.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
But I do speak to him a.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
Lot and check on him, and he does sleep a lot.
But you know, if she shows up and he's still alive,
I'll consider that a victory. Yes, And I love to
pet sit, but not fish It's the only thing she
brings anyway. So please hang on a couple more days,
uncle fish Man, because she's coming home soon.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
Coming up in six fifty. Jody has three things to
note today and next. Sam has music news.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
I'll let you know what artist is already campaigning for
next year's super Bowl halftime show.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
Samscott Music Us.
Speaker 4 (02:55):
The Backstreet Boys. They're putting it out there that they
would like to be the super Bowl halftime for Former
next year. And if you want my vote, I think
that would be fun because they could bring other people
in and.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
Going retro, doing a nineties thing. It's probably time to
do that.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
And I would even propose this Backstreet Boys and In
Sync on the same stage before.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
Why not then Justin does Justin come back? Well, Justin
didn't come back again already won.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
So did he come back after that?
Speaker 3 (03:26):
So that's right, he was allowed to come back, but
not Janet, don't get me started on that.
Speaker 4 (03:30):
Yeah, when he had that song in the troll movie ridiculous,
performed it okay anyway at their Vegas residency the other night,
they were saying, hey, you know, let's make it happen.
Why not us? Why can't we do it? And I
found this out too, and looking at this that they
they were offered the halftime show in two thousand and one. Yeah,
they were offered you want the halftime show or the
national anthem? They chose the national anthem?
Speaker 1 (03:55):
Well, you know what that's fitting for harmony?
Speaker 4 (03:58):
It just yes, you know who the NFL chows for
halftime when they turned it down and sync. That was
the one with Aerosmith and Britney Spears.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
I remember that one.
Speaker 4 (04:09):
That was fine, by the way, you told us too, Jody.
The odds on favorite already is Miley Cyrus.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift a close second.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
Yeah. Meanwhile, we're about to hear a lot and see
a lot of another boy band soon, K Pop Superstars BTS.
I'm coming out third and we already let you know
that they're gonna have a comeback live concert on Netflix
in March and a documentary in March. Well, now they've decided,
you know, if he didn't get tickets to their concerts
(04:37):
because they sold out quick their world tour, they're gonna
put two of the concerts live in movie theaters in April,
so you'll be able to get tickets for that starting
next week.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Cool, Yeah, you go when it's you know later.
Speaker 4 (04:49):
Got another artist that's been added to NBC's coverage. You know,
Snoop is a correspondent for the Olympics. Flavor. Flavor is
doing I think the Men's lose team. Yes, he's their person.
Megan the Stallions now on board.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
I'm a saved.
Speaker 4 (05:01):
They have hired her to just exclusively put content on
her YouTube channel. She's got seven point three migan subscribers. Correct, like,
we're gonna hit it. Behind the scenes access, you can
talk to all the athletes. You can do this, put
it on your YouTube, so start looking for that.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
Coming up next, Jody has your Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
The latest buzz.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
We got a trailer late last week for a new
series that's coming that I didn't even know was coming,
and Nicholas Cage is starring in and it's coming to
Prime later this year.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
It's called Spider.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
Noir, Tics, Thoughts, and Impulses I managed to suppress.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
It's in black and white, and it's creepy esque. It's
a live action series. He plays an older, sort of
roughed up version, a cynical version of a Spider Man
type who's down on his luck. He's a private investigator
and a former superhero from an alternate world. And this
is set in nineteen thirties New York City, so he
sort of returns to the Spider stuff after years of
(06:06):
just trying to, you know, pretend like he doesn't have
those powers or whatnot.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
And he's a private Eye.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
So was Spider Man or he's not? It is it
loosely connected?
Speaker 2 (06:15):
Kind of?
Speaker 3 (06:16):
It's loosely connected from what I can understand. You probably
will have to watch the show to fully understand it.
But if you like Private Eye, you like this crazy
mystery sort of series, which I do like a series
because you don't have to devote two hours to one
story and then you're out.
Speaker 2 (06:30):
You get a new episode every week.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
And you look at it in black and white. It
actually sets the tone in the mood. It's different. It
really does the contrast. It's yeah, draws you well.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
You see it. It's like this is weird and like
it's Nicholas Cage. So now you get white.
Speaker 4 (06:44):
It got to be weird.
Speaker 3 (06:45):
It's coming to prime. May twenty seventh, coming up next.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
To I broke something at home before walking out the
door this morning. I hesitate to tell Jody about it.
Speaker 3 (06:55):
Join the conversation anytime eight seven seven three one zero
four j So you.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
Know, I'm sorry that was a little bit late coming
in this morning. You both noticed that I had an
incident at home. I had to tend to and I
can't leave messes behind when there's a mess. Really, you
were a dog, Well, wasn't a dog this time?
Speaker 3 (07:17):
No?
Speaker 1 (07:17):
And if it's a dog mess, I'll leave that for
Jody for later, you know, I said, I'm just kidding. No,
But again, that's one of the I can't bring myself
to leave the house when something like that has been
spilled or whatever.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
What wasill?
Speaker 1 (07:30):
So I can't tell you the last time I did this. First,
after apologize Jody because I broke a coffee cup, which
one mug is one of the green ones that seems
to be they're really fragile anyway, but I love them.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
It's really pretty and green.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
No, I mean it's the base. You've got the basic
green and then you've got your fancy green. No, it
was the basic, okay.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
And it's mint green. By the way, they're beautiful.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
Good to see. I'm not in the doghouse on that.
Speaker 4 (07:55):
One basic green and fancy green.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
Yeah. And but no, it was full of coffee. I mean,
I don't know that I've ever done had well. It
is sad, yes, because a it's a perfectly cup of
coffee gone to waste. Yeah, and it went everywhere. And
what it happened is I just sat down and I
went to put it on the end table next to
the sofa, and I don't know what I was thinking,
but I literally misjudged it and put it onto nothing.
(08:22):
And so you had that let go moment exactly, and
it hit the floor and there was no you can't
catch a falling cup of coffee.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
So you all overs bed.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
No, Now this is where we got lucky. Didn't get
on any books. Most importantly, didn't get on my phone. Yeah,
the phone, and the only sofa that had got on
was the leatherette sofa.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
Excellent, not the cloth right now.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
And thank thank goodness, we don't have any carpet in
the living room that minute. But I mean it was
everywhere I had to and you can't leave coffee like that.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
So i'd broken ceramics.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
Well there's that too, right and so but it broke
perfectly into two pieces with no sharks. I don't know
how that happened.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
Well, you got lucky then.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
But so I had to move the sofa out of
the way, both sofas out of the way. I had
to move the end table out of the way. I
had to move champ out of the way to get
to everything. And so that cost me about twenty minutes.
But you know that's why I was behind.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
As long as it's not the fancy cup.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
I just but I can't live. Would you have left
it behind or no?
Speaker 2 (09:23):
I probably wouldn't have even admitted it.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
Coming up next, Jody has three things to note today.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
Three things to know today.
Speaker 3 (09:32):
Number one, this could be a big week in the
disappearance of Savannah Guthrie's mom. Savannah Guthrie from This Today Show,
her mom disappeared going on three weeks ago. She was kidnapped.
So the FBI has run DNA. They found some DNA
on a glove that they found near the home. They've
run the DNA from the glove into the national database
(09:54):
late late last night or last night.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
So it usually takes about.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
Twenty four hours to check against da A samples that
have been collected from convicted felons, so they match. If
it's someone who served time, they may get a match
and a big, big lead in this case coming this week.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
Number two at the Winter Olympics right now.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
You know, there are some endurance athletes you're talking about
cross country skiers. They're always looking for a way to
improve their performance, you know.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
And it's not just like an energy bar.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
Apparently there's some unique supplements that they're finding and using.
Like broccoli juice really lowers the blood lactate levels during
intense exercise.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
So it's taken.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
It's made from like six pounds of broccoli squeeze.
Speaker 2 (10:40):
Into this small liquid dose.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
It probably doesn't taste great, but they shoot it before
they go skiing and go competing. And number three you
probably already know it, but today is President's Day celebrating
the birth of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
So what happens? Banks are clothes, government offices are closed.
Speaker 4 (11:00):
You're up to date.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
Three things to know today.
Speaker 4 (11:05):
Social media, connect.
Speaker 3 (11:06):
Or read and see every single thing that comes into
the inbox or the email. So keep it coming. Laneus
Lilania sent this. It's about peanut butter. We were talking
about peanut butter because needing a substitute for it.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
Yeah, because you are allergic, allegedly allergic to chocolate, peanut butter,
and cheese.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
Which I'm not.
Speaker 1 (11:25):
I'm not as a kid, you were allergic to none
of those.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
It was just hello on the peanut butter thing. We
found too that tastes just like peanut butter and wow,
it's wow butter and sun butter.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
Yeah, Murphy, remember so I remember sun butter because when
you know, at the girls school, I guess really with
most schools because of peanut allergies now there are things
you can't bring, and so they could have sun butter sandwiches,
which really I loved it. It's made from sunflower seeds
and it tastes great.
Speaker 3 (11:51):
We were like Taylor was a little when she was little,
she would only eat like peanut butter and jelly and
chicken nuggets. And so when you couldn't send peanut products
to cool, I discovered sun butter.
Speaker 2 (12:02):
You remember what you did.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
I ordered a whole case.
Speaker 4 (12:04):
Yeah, he ordered a whole case.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
Of the thing is.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
He's just an excessive person. So we had this case
of it and one jar in. Taylor's like, I'm over it.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
We had some for.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
Years, Stanlor, we've got eleven more of the together.
Speaker 3 (12:18):
Anyway, lansaid Lelania says, wow, butter and sun butter, they
taste good. Even I've switched to it because I enjoy
I enjoy it with Peebe and Jay have a great day.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
Does she say what wold butter is? Is it the
same thing?
Speaker 2 (12:31):
She doesn't.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
I'm curious. Okay, look it up, looking to try it?
Speaker 2 (12:35):
I know?
Speaker 3 (12:35):
Okay, Vanessa sent this Sam. You're looking for a new
book to read. Yes, fabulous book. James Patterson's the writer.
You will never forget the ending. Why are you moaning
like that, Vanessa? He's hard to please.
Speaker 4 (12:48):
No, no, no, it's James Patterson.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
Well it's what and now he's a great actor, I mean,
and he.
Speaker 4 (12:54):
Writes good too. Uh, it's as long as it's not
an Alex crossbook. Maybe so, because those all right after
about four or five of those Patterson Alex crossbooks, I
know it's the same story over.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
I read a few of them.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
He just has a what's his style? I've never read
his stuff, so.
Speaker 2 (13:08):
As of your seats, he's the one that wrote The
President is Missing book.
Speaker 4 (13:12):
Yeah, it's like a thriller.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
He's prolific.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
He cranks out a book probably every month, you know,
but he has a he's a good writer.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
He does have a style, which they all do.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
Yeah, but this one's called The Writer and it's being
recommended to you by Vanessa.
Speaker 4 (13:29):
Vanessa.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
Yeah, thank you for that. Have you picked up anything
else to read it?
Speaker 3 (13:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (13:32):
I have not yet. I'm really leaning towards Hail Mary.
Ryan got Project Project Tail Mary.
Speaker 1 (13:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
Yeah, that's the Ryan Gosling movie that's coming out about
his adventures in space with a really cute alien. And
the word is that adults and kids alike, which your
very kid like like that book.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
Okay, cute. We'll reach out to us anytime. We absolutely
love hearing from you on our socials and at Murphy
Sam and Jody dot Com. Coming up Jody has three
things to note today at seven.
Speaker 3 (13:57):
Fifty and next your morning pick me up, Morning, pick
me Up. I want to share this by now you've heard,
maybe you even saw, you know, images of it over
the weekend on if you were watching the any of
the Olympic coverage from Milan, that Breezy Johnson was proposed
to by her boyfriend right at the end of this
(14:18):
event the other day, after the Super G course.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
Did you see and hear about that?
Speaker 3 (14:22):
I heard so Breezy Johnson was the first person to
win a gold medal for Team USA this year. She
was the first person to medal for Team USA, and
it was really exciting. And so she's there and there
it's a whole nother it's the Super G course, and
she had just fallen down, like she had a slip
up on the course and it was like, oh, all
(14:43):
of her family and friends and everybody were watching for
her to get back up. Oh my gosh, is she
gonna get up? She did get up, you know, she
finished and all that. So she starts walking and she
is standing there and she sees her boyfriend who's there
his name is Connor Watkins, at the base of the
course and as soon as he starts walking toward her,
she knows something's up because he shouldn't be walking toward her.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
Course.
Speaker 3 (15:04):
So he had planned to propose to her, and he did.
Surrounded by other athletes and officials and all that kind
of stuff.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
He nailed down on a knee and he proposed. It's
really really sweet. She was.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
She was worried about, you know, the mishap. She was
embarrassed about that. But he completely changed the moment for her,
and he said he had a backup plan in case
she wasn't able to approach her. You never know, you know,
what if she had had a problem on the course
or was injured and people were looking at her.
Speaker 1 (15:32):
Man, that's love having a backup plan there.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
I know, that's really smart.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
Actually, I think about how nerve wrecking it is to
propose anyway. And then he's going to propose at the
Olympic Olympics, on the world's biggest stage.
Speaker 2 (15:44):
What if she'd had a horrible run, you know, and
it's like, no would have been but she didn't. She
was very excited. He presented her with a large silver
ring with this large deep blue stone in it, and
the box had the lyric A lyric that means something
to them from the Taylor Swift song Alchemy see the Alchemy.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
So there you go a little behind the scenes on
that proposal.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
She even posted Taylor Swift posted after she saw it.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
Yeah, it was like, oh, thanks for making me a
part of your proposal. So it was just a really
cool one of those many many cool stories. I mean,
we get the Olympics coverage and the you know, the
trials and all that, but the behind the scenes stuff
is really where the.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
It's sweet and you know what, she'll never worry about
that little slip up that she had there ever Again.
Coming up next, Jody has another Hollywood outsider trending now.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
Jody's Hollywood outsider actress Maya Hawk, who you very well
may know as Robin Rock and Robin from Stranger Things.
She's also kind of Hollywood royalty, if you will. She's
the daughter of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman. Yeah, if
you look at pictures of her, it's like, oh, she
is UMA's daughter.
Speaker 4 (16:57):
There's even stuff floating around on socials that, you know,
maybe they should make a kill Bill three and she
should be the star like her mom was the star
of the first two.
Speaker 2 (17:05):
Do you know that her.
Speaker 3 (17:07):
Father, Ethan Hawk, who's currently nominated for an Academy Award
again for his work in the movie called Blue Moon.
He has said in previous interviews that they'll be on
the street together, are in public together, and people come
up to her now and don't even know who he is,
and that's been different for him, and that he did never,
he never recommended that she do this with her life.
(17:28):
She really wanted to do it anyway. Actress Ethan I'm sorry.
Actress Maya Hawk got married in a surprise Valentine's Day
ceremony this weekend to musician Christian Lee Hudson.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
They tied.
Speaker 3 (17:41):
Everybody was there but her friends from Stranger Things were there,
Joe Kiriy, Finn Wilford, Sadie Sink was even in the house,
and of course her mom and dad, Uma Thurman and
Ethan Hawk.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
And it was in Manhattan, and Ethan.
Speaker 3 (17:55):
Hawk walked her down the aisle, the sweet little Valentine's
Day wedding that no one really knew except the family,
and it was going to.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
Happen coming up with Murphy, Sam and Jody.
Speaker 4 (18:03):
At seven fifty three. Things to note today.
Speaker 3 (18:08):
Most people at some point at some point in your life,
you've probably been told you look like someone who is famous.
Are you remind people of someone who is famous? I
don't know why we do that and we make those connections,
but Sam has one that happens a lot. And over
the weekend, our Weekend Show podcast posted on social media
(18:29):
and there's a picture of you. It's a funny picture
of Sam, by the way, go see it on places, because.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
His hair is sticking up and he's looking crazy.
Speaker 4 (18:37):
Why was I doing that?
Speaker 2 (18:39):
Because you're always the pictures. You did that on purpose?
Speaker 4 (18:43):
Because I don't come to work looking like that.
Speaker 3 (18:44):
Of course, you must have just been playing with your
hair that day, sticking straight up and you had this
crazy look on your face.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
In fact, there's a lot of mad sciences going on here.
What's this new look? Sam? But Tammy says, I think
he has the Matthew Perry.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
Vibe going on here, and we have heard that that forever.
And what's so funny is for someone to say you
look like Matthew Perry freaks me a little bit because
it's really the way you behave and your humor.
Speaker 2 (19:16):
Matthew Perry. So have you ever been told you looked
like him?
Speaker 1 (19:19):
Too.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
This is new.
Speaker 4 (19:20):
I don't think. Look what is one to look Tom Hanks,
I hear about too.
Speaker 2 (19:27):
You're a combo of some really talented people.
Speaker 4 (19:29):
But I don't think I've been told I look like
Matthew Perry.
Speaker 1 (19:32):
Well, the thing about the sense of humor Matthew Perry,
thing is you were doing that before Friends even Debuto.
I've heard, Matthew, because I've known you since before. Then
you know it's true.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
Mark says, almost look looks like Matthew Perry. There there's
more than one comment of you looking like Matthew Perry
in that one picture.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
But that's what's so crazy to us that you on online.
You're giving me goosebumps because he behaves like that. You
behave like him, the humor, the best parts of him.
Speaker 4 (20:01):
One liner.
Speaker 1 (20:02):
Do you get that, Jody? Because the only there have
been a few of the years for me, there are
people that have thought I look resemble Jimmy Fallon.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
You do That's fine at times? Yeah, I've heard it before.
I've heard.
Speaker 3 (20:14):
The one that I don't understand is Nicole Kid, Miss
I do not look hair.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
It's the coloring.
Speaker 1 (20:23):
Yeah, yeah, but I actually do see and understand that one.
Speaker 3 (20:27):
I've heard Christina Hendricks and I'll take that all day long.
But and then some other people that I don't know.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
It's the Red Hat Association.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
When you have red red hair, you know, anybody who
has red red hair, they automatically say you look like them. Anyway,
It's so much fun to come to work with Matthew
Perry Vibe.
Speaker 1 (20:44):
It's the Matthew, Jimmy and Jody Show coming up next.
Jody has three things to know today.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
Here's three things to know today.
Speaker 3 (20:54):
Number one, at the Winter Olympics in Milan, the United
States remaining in the hunt to be the most decorated nation.
If we did walk away with the most metals, it
will be the first time since twenty fourteen at the
Games of Sochi, Norway, at the top of the standings.
Four Now, so what can you catch today? What's happening today?
The men's snowboarding event and one that is one that
(21:17):
we all like to see in primetime and you can
see it later tonight, figure skating pairs free skate, and
that is a metal event.
Speaker 2 (21:25):
Number two.
Speaker 3 (21:26):
On Saturday, it was Valentine's Day and florists would like
us all since the beginning of time to order flowers
like weeks in advance.
Speaker 2 (21:34):
No one does that.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
Most of the orders are on the twelfth or the thirteenth,
and some of them you know, on the fourteenth, Oh
my gosh, can I get flowers? So everybody knows that.
So the florists have to just be prepared for what
they think will happen. Last minute flowers is how that rolls.
Amazon even has stuff that you can last minute do,
and it happened a lot. When you do pay last minute,
though you pay a little more. And number three at
(21:59):
the box office weekend. To no one's surprise, the number
one movie was Wuthering Heights thirty four point eight million
dollars over Valentine's weekend. It's the biggest I guess opening
of the year so far. And following closely behind at
number two was the Sony animated sports comedy Goat.
Speaker 4 (22:22):
You're up to Date.
Speaker 1 (22:23):
Three Things to Know Today.
Speaker 3 (22:26):
I don't know about you, moms and dads, but I
always thought it was really fun to name a baby.
I love I love it when there's a new baby
coming and everybody's thinking.
Speaker 2 (22:36):
About a name.
Speaker 1 (22:37):
It's fun, I guess, until you know couples disagree because
that happens, sometimes too can happen.
Speaker 2 (22:42):
We never disagree.
Speaker 1 (22:43):
We didn't Dodie, and we got lucky with both our girls,
and we were in alignment.
Speaker 2 (22:47):
And your daughter Madeline. What a beautiful name.
Speaker 3 (22:49):
Yes, And a lot of times names get chosen from
pop culture and even more so music.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
So let's just go to an old classic.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
Okay, this name has been popular since this song came out.
How many Carolines do you know that? Oh, my parents
loved that song. I know a few Caroline who's daughter
in law?
Speaker 4 (23:10):
Who's a Caroline? Is that right where they got it?
Speaker 2 (23:13):
Maybe?
Speaker 1 (23:13):
So?
Speaker 3 (23:14):
Also, thanks to Eric Clapton, we have a lot of
Leilah's spell.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
It anyway you like, that's a great name.
Speaker 3 (23:23):
Also, remember apparently and this is this one is still
ever popular, Selena. You see trends, you know, in names and.
Speaker 4 (23:32):
From pop culture.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
It is a beautiful name.
Speaker 3 (23:35):
And sometimes it's the name that's you know, in the song,
or sometimes it's the artist.
Speaker 2 (23:40):
A current one is Gabriella.
Speaker 3 (23:46):
It's a beautiful name already, and then you put it
to song and you can't stop singing it. If you
are pregnant expecting a girl that is coming into your head,
they say because that's a hit. Expect maybe you know
a bomp in babies being named Gabrielle in months from there.
Speaker 4 (24:02):
Was that hot too during high school musical days.
Speaker 2 (24:05):
Troy and Gabrielle.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
I'm sure it probably was.
Speaker 3 (24:07):
Maybe so we also have seen over the last fifteen
twenty years more Adele's.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
I only know one Adele who's not Adele the single.
Oh yeah, it's our friend Libby's sister in law.
Speaker 2 (24:23):
Oh right, is Adele considered an older name?
Speaker 1 (24:27):
I think it's just a classy.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
It's a classic name, but we all as we all know,
older classic names come back. Also, Sabrina is popular again,
cult sassy name. And whether the name Taylor is popular
or not, she Taylor Swift has brought a lot of names.
In fact, we're seeing some Aphelias oh in hospitals, opal
(24:51):
lights and Aphilias right now.
Speaker 1 (24:53):
They's a lot of Taylor.
Speaker 2 (24:54):
It's true.
Speaker 3 (24:56):
For boys, it's more like Cash has always been popular
thanks to Johnny Cash and Jaggers is also high on
the list. Music really does influence everything.
Speaker 1 (25:07):
Coming up, Jody has another Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 4 (25:11):
Got to tell you about my Valentines On Valentine's.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
Day, Sham's got another significant other.
Speaker 4 (25:16):
Well before that, though, I want to know what you
guys got each other for Valentine.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
Well, if you remember, I gifted Murphy the day before
Valentine's Day here at work, because it is a love
thing to do to give somebody snacks when they need
them at their.
Speaker 2 (25:29):
Desk and office all the time.
Speaker 1 (25:30):
It is.
Speaker 2 (25:31):
Yes, I loaded you up with healthy snacks in that thing.
Speaker 3 (25:34):
And then there's some like little man body washes and
stuff I gave him at home.
Speaker 2 (25:38):
Okay, so he gifted me. This is I was. It
was this heavy box he put in my lap Saturday morning.
Speaker 3 (25:45):
This incredible candle, oh, French lavender candle. That is for
when I take a bath. And then I don't know
what why you do? You just shop all the time?
He later, Oh, and here's another one, boom, a big t.
Speaker 4 (25:59):
Yeah, what's what's what's good?
Speaker 2 (26:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (26:05):
So what did you get?
Speaker 4 (26:06):
Well, I didn't get I didn't get anything. I got
something from my daughter Mattie for Valentine. Okay, for her,
from her for her.
Speaker 2 (26:14):
Okay, you remember.
Speaker 4 (26:15):
Last year she surprised me with chocolate covered strawberries.
Speaker 2 (26:17):
She showed up at work.
Speaker 1 (26:19):
Yeah, that's right.
Speaker 4 (26:20):
Yeah, she was on the other foot this time. I
didn't tell her I was coming, and so I like
two minutes away, I was like, hey you awake. Yeah,
it's like, oh, I got some Valentines for you. I
got her four little months for Valentines, so sweet, the
dark chocolate with the dove with the raspberry. Yeah, and
a couple of strawberry ones. And so she was all
(26:41):
tickled by it.
Speaker 2 (26:41):
And you got to see her for a few Yeah.
Speaker 4 (26:43):
I got to see her and wish her happy Valentine's Days.
That's like, I got your back.
Speaker 3 (26:47):
That's the point, you know, that's the way to do.
You know, just it's not just about a significant other.
Love is love is love in your life?
Speaker 1 (26:54):
Oh yeah, it doesn't matter how absolutely only half the
population is really in a serious relationship. Yeah, maybe lesson
and less relationship.
Speaker 4 (27:03):
She was also, and I hope she doesn't get mad
about this, but she and her boyfriend had gone their
separate ways. Single, Maddie right now, So you made her
help to get more.
Speaker 1 (27:11):
So did she eat all four in front of you?
Speaker 4 (27:13):
No, she didn't eat any of them yet. Oh so
she wouldn't put him in the fridge.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
She didn't share any with you. You were you wanting the.
Speaker 4 (27:20):
Tell someone get a taste of the chocolate one.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
Yeah, because that's new.
Speaker 4 (27:22):
I'm a big boy. I can buy my own.
Speaker 2 (27:24):
I think you need to buy your own though.
Speaker 3 (27:25):
That was a Valentine's sort of special, so I think
get them before they're gone. Yeah, yeah, all right, Coming
up next, your Hollywood.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
Outsider, JODI's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 3 (27:37):
I guess by now we all know that Team Usay
is a fit. Unofficial mascot is Snoop Dog. At the
twenty twenty six Winter Olympics, everybody's always on the lookout
for him. He's had like lessons from athletes and he's
having a blast and he's just spreading love and joy
among everyone there.
Speaker 4 (27:54):
I wonder if he's handing out Snoop pens this year,
because remember.
Speaker 2 (27:57):
Last week I did that. You know the word is.
Speaker 3 (28:00):
He has a correspondent for NBC in Italy and he
was at a takeout place.
Speaker 2 (28:06):
Did you hear this story?
Speaker 3 (28:08):
Ordered a cheeseburger, chicken wings, chicken nuggets, and French fries,
I guess for him and the crew or whatever. And
his car didn't go through and so the Italian owners
of course knew who he was and they were like,
you know what, don't worry about it here.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
Enjoy the food on us. And he doesn't know what
happened or whatever.
Speaker 3 (28:24):
So once they did that kindness to him, he sent
them five tickets to the Men's snowboard Halfpipe half pipe
finale and so they're like over the moon about it again.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
Everybody's just falling in love with Snoop.
Speaker 4 (28:37):
How did he get the card fixed?
Speaker 3 (28:39):
Nobody knows what happened with the card, And it was
like his people trying to get the food for him.
He always looks so styling too, and he is so
proud to be doing that.
Speaker 1 (28:47):
You know.
Speaker 3 (28:48):
Attitude and enthusiasm is everything. If you catch any of
the coverage, you're gonna see Snoop.
Speaker 2 (28:57):
If it's new and you can eat it. Sam's here's
the food, dude.
Speaker 4 (29:01):
We are about a month away from Saint Pattiste. Yeah,
and already the green goodies were rolling into your fast
food restaurants.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
Tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (29:09):
Shamrock shakes are back at McDonald's. Okay, and they've had
a little something too this year, the Shamrock Shake Oreo
Shamrock mcflurry, which is the same as the shake, but
they put the little cookie pieces.
Speaker 2 (29:19):
In there as well, got it understood.
Speaker 4 (29:21):
Over a dairy Queen, they have their mint crunching cookie
dipped cone.
Speaker 2 (29:26):
You know it's all mint just because, but you know,
not dairy queen.
Speaker 4 (29:29):
They dip the cones in the hard shell stuff, right,
this one is mint.
Speaker 1 (29:33):
Oh, the hard shell is the boat. That's cool.
Speaker 4 (29:37):
Yeah, that one comes back on Monday next Monday, along
with their mint Oreo Blizzard treat.
Speaker 2 (29:42):
Goodness.
Speaker 1 (29:42):
Maybe that'll be my weekend indulgence.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
Jodie correct, once a week, have a little something something
and get back on track.
Speaker 2 (29:48):
That's the way.
Speaker 4 (29:48):
And over at Wendy's, Wendy says, that's great, guys. But
how about the thin mint frosty. Okay, you know that
one is is going to be actually, I think it's
on the menu right now, and they've actually put a
little twist on it this year, thin mint frosty fusion.
And if you don't remember what the fusions are, it's
a thin mint frosty, but they add in extra crumbledokies. Yeah, okay,
(30:11):
thin man on top of a thin minty.
Speaker 2 (30:13):
Got it.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
And finally, lucky charms they do this every year, the
magic clovers that turn your milk ring.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
Oh, that's cute.
Speaker 4 (30:20):
But this year they have a special twist on the
back of the cereal box. You get a leprechaun trap.
Speaker 1 (30:26):
That's cute, Okay, cool.
Speaker 2 (30:28):
I never could.
Speaker 1 (30:29):
It's just one of those where you just cut the
box off and you.
Speaker 4 (30:33):
Lot a stick under it, and when the Leprechaun, I'm
still pull the stick out.
Speaker 3 (30:38):
Look, it's your imagination. It's a cute thing for a kid.
It may not live up to something on a screen.
Speaker 4 (30:43):
Do you know what?
Speaker 1 (30:44):
I love that kind of stuff. That's what I would
do as a kid, was read the cereal box. Some
chocolate is for you too.
Speaker 4 (30:49):
Reese's is bringing back they This came out in two
thousand and six and then they got rid of it.
The Reese's marshmallow. The top layer is peanut butter, the
bottom layer. That was good.
Speaker 1 (30:58):
I remember having one of those.
Speaker 4 (30:59):
I never heard of it, kind of like a fluffer nutter.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
I'm not the Reese's you know person that you guys are.
I can take it. I can leave Reese's on the table.
Speaker 1 (31:06):
Well, then I'll take.
Speaker 4 (31:07):
Your leave it on my table. Uh. And the cheapest
Dubai style chocolate I've seen so far, the Dubai Style
Rabbit for Easter Bunny, we see three dollars at Walmart.
Speaker 1 (31:19):
Okay, can't beat that.
Speaker 2 (31:21):
That's chocolate.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
Dubai is spelled differently on that one
