Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the second half of today's Murphy, Sam and
Jody Podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
I don't know if you guys can relate to this
little problem that I'm no women everywhere have and I
had it yesterday.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
Is there anything that you buy.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Regular on the regular, like at you know, a home
improvement store that you go back to get the one
you need and they've changed it. The company changes the
formula and you have to start over.

Speaker 4 (00:28):
I've got it where they change the packaging and so
you don't know what you're looking for, Murphy, do you
have it now?

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Fabuloso is fabuloso? Unfortunately they haven't changed that one.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
So let me explain little something to you guys, since
you don't wear makeup when you find this has happened
to me since I started wearing makeup when I was sixteen,
well really fourteen. I used to sneak in the bathroom
at Junior High. But you find a color and a
formula that you need that works for you, like you know,

(00:57):
you find your color, whether it's a lipstick or an ice.
In my case, it was it's it is foundation, which
is so important. Okay, okay, well it's the foundation exactly,
but it has to be the exact right color so
that it doesn't look like you have a bunch of
makeup on.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
It just looks flawless.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
Okay, so when colors get changed up, is it the
same manufacturer or is it.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
It's the same manufacturer, but they change the game. So
I let's just get specific. I roll up into the
big It was Alta, yeah, and I'm like, I know
exactly what I'm looking for, and I have five minutes.
I'm gonna roll up to go, and I know exactly
what brand Morphy in this case, but there are seventeen
hundred brands around. I walk up looking for medium filter twelve.

(01:39):
That's what I wear. It's called medium filter and the
number is twelve. Matches my skin perfectly, as if God
created it for me.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
I go, and they've changed it all. Oh, they've changed
what they make it. They don't make.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Filter filter focus anymore. They make one called light form,
and all the numbers are different because the twelve made
me look like a clown. I tested it on my arm,
and so all of the associates are busy. I mean,
it's just it happens all the time. So I had
to do my best guessing. But when cosmetics companies do this,

(02:16):
you risk losing me entirely. Because there are seventeen hundred other,
you know, choices around.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
They do this a lot.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
They it seems like they do, and every company does it.
I mean, I guess change is inevitable, right.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Yeah, but when you're talking about two hundred different shades
of something, I can see how that would be a problem.
It's like an index. It's like somebody changing the index.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
Thank you, comingau Next, Jody's got three things to know today.
Three things to Know Today, brought to you by State Farm.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
Number one, this is the day that Microsoft hangs up
Skype forever.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Yeah, I'm the farewell.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
You guys are upset.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
They're retiring the original video calling app now that everybody's
using Zoom or FaceTime or whatever themes us Thank you.
Skype has been around since two thousand and four, and
they do say Microsoft, if you're relying on it, switch
over to teams for free for NAT now.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
Yeah, they have ported you actually, if you were a user,
they've already moved you over.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
Yeah. Number two.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
At Churchill Downs this weekend, the one hundred and fifty
first Kentucky Derby, and what was interesting about every single
horse that ran. Every single one was a descendant of Secretariat.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
That was cool.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
Yeah, that's nineteen seventy three winner. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
Anyway, the predicted winner was journalism, but Sovereignty entered the
race with nine to one odds and one.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
They don't forget Toby Keith's horse.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
I did forget about Toby kas and.

Speaker 4 (03:43):
In seventeenth out of twenty.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
Maybe it was all the mud.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Yeah, yeah, that was messy.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
And number three, this is beautiful. One of the popemobiles
used by the late Pope Francis will now be turned
into a mobile health unit for children in Gaza. He
had multiple vehicles each pope does, and he'd decided to
leave one to a Catholic charity before he died. And
it'll be outfitted with rapid infection tests and vaccines and

(04:07):
suture kits. Okay, and it was he was. He used
it when he visited the Middle East in twenty fourteen.
And by the way, the conclave to vote on a
new pope starts this week.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
You're up to date.

Speaker 4 (04:18):
Three things to know today.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
We're going to touch on Mother's Day a lot this week,
and you know, ideas and thoughts because Mother's Day is
not one size fits all.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
It's a hard day.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
For some it's a day with you know, maybe maybe
a phone call, maybe a text. Sometimes you take the
whole day and you just take mom out and you
pamper her. And there's no really wrong way to do it.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
You know.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
You know the mom in your life, you know what
to do. But we like to throw out ideas. It's
just not one size fits all to me. You know,
it's the person in the family who literally is the
one who thinks of everything. So definitely put some thought
into it, even if you just give a card or
a phone call, think about it this week, because this
person would think about your day for sure. Moms think

(05:07):
and think and think and overthink and plan and plan
and overplan. We have a beautiful email regarding Mother's Day
though from Jonathan. It says, Aloha from the Garden Island, Hawaii,
oh Oh.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
I love your show. Anyway.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
My thoughts on Mother's Day and what mothers might want.
I think most mothers just want their child or children
to be happy in their everyday life. Shout out correct,
even though the struggles will inevitably arise. Material things could
be cool, I suppose, but I think that happiness for
their children is the root of a mother's desire on

(05:43):
Mother's Day. Yes, I think it pains a mother to
see their children unhappy and or in pain. So true,
we're going to get to that. I speak from a
place where my mom passed away twenty two years ago
from diabetes and complications thereof, so I don't have the
pleasure of getting my mom any thing for Mother's Day.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
Keep up the great show, Aloha. That's from Jonathan.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
We appreciate that, Jonathan.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
You're so right about that. There's a saying, and I
hope I get it right. A mother is only as
happy as her unhappiest child. I think that's the child
as her least happy. But right, if your child is struggling,
you're struggling. There's a connection there, and it's probably the
same for dads. I know we're focusing on moms because
Mother's Day this weekend, but you know, when your child

(06:30):
is struggling, you struggle too.

Speaker 4 (06:32):
You don't want to see your kids hurt.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
No, and there's a connection, and Mom's just you know,
I think moms really really feel it, you know.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
I think my mom has even said that once or twice.
When you know, when you ask Sam what do you
want for Mother's Day? What do you want for your birthday?

Speaker 3 (06:44):
Want you to be happy?

Speaker 4 (06:45):
It's you know, you don't have to get me anything.
I just want to not want you to be happy.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
Well see, that's honest, healthy, that's so honest. From the wise,
Miss Judy.

Speaker 4 (06:53):
I tell it. That doesn't work, You're going to get something.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
Family Dynamics, all right, keep it coming anytime. You can
also jump in eight seven seven, three one zero four
MSJ coming up.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
Jody has another Hollywood outsider.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
You know, you probably expect me to say I was
nerding out yesterday during Star Wars Day one, and I
actually did.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Okay, you just spill it, okay, because today's one.

Speaker 4 (07:20):
You're comfortable, right, I'm comfortable admitting this. And I also
have to admit that I matured a bit this weekend
because of watching Star Wars. And I'll explain. There was
a series, a three part documentary series on Disney Plus
called Light and Magic Season one in a season two.
The season two is like when they were getting ready
to make the one, two and three movies Star Wars one,

(07:42):
two and three.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
So Light Magic is all about Star Wars.

Speaker 4 (07:44):
Yeah, it's industrial Light and Magic it's George Lucas. He
created the company to be So this is.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
What I would I would take a nap watching But.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
In watching it and hearing George Lucas describe the first
three movies, I thought I deserved to give it another chance,
and so I watched episode one. And the reason being
is when I was a kid. I was thirteen years
old when I first saw the first Star Wars, and
George Lucas in saying, you know, all the people that
had problems with the one, two, and three, they weren't

(08:16):
geared towards the old Star Wars fans we had grown up.
It was geared again towards a thirteen year old. Cool,
So he said, you have to watch it as if
you are a thirteen year old. That's why jar Jar binks.
Everybody hates jar Jarr because he talks weird and he
looks weird. Correct, But he was geared to be comic
relief for a thirteen year old.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
So one, two, and three are really four, five and
six in the release terms. I'm just saying the average person,
you know what I'm saying? The release one in.

Speaker 4 (08:42):
The release order, Yes, these were the second batch one,
two and three, correct, exactly. So after watching that, I
figured why not. I watched episode one and sure enough
it wasn't as bad as I have read all of
these years.

Speaker 3 (08:55):
Good for you, that is growth.

Speaker 4 (08:58):
And then and then the top this all off, Sammy
calls me my oldest son and he started talking about
episode one being his favorite episode. We spent an hour
on the phone talking about the different intricacies of episode
one and light and magic and you know, industrial light
and magic and all.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
And he would have been he would have been about
the age of thirteen when it came out.

Speaker 4 (09:19):
He would have been ten when that one came out,
teen when the second one came out. So it was
geared towards him, and and it's like, lovely, I get it. Now.
There's still not my favorite movies of the Star Wars franchise.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
But tada, this is cool.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
And look it brought you anything that brings you closer
to your kids that you're talking about for an hour, Yeah,
shout out the force was with me.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
Coming up next, Jody has your Hollywood Outsider trending Now,
Jody's Hollywood.

Speaker 4 (09:48):
Outsider brought to you by Private Team.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
Miss let me remind you how fantastic on the screen
Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullegar, remember from Speed.

Speaker 4 (09:57):
Off, Get Off?

Speaker 3 (10:00):
I think they did.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
Another movie together to like a love story, a lake
house some sort of. Anyway, they have mad chemistry together.
In fact, so many people want them together in real life,
but they're not. They're just friends. The word is though,
they're going to work together again. They're teaming up together
again for a romantic thriller. They're going to do it
for Amazon Studios, so a movie that'll go straight to

(10:21):
Amazon unless there's some sort of studio deal going on too.
We don't know the plot, we don't know the title,
but we do know they both agreed to it.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
They were blind for that.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
They were approached like Keanu said, this is you and
you know, Sondra Bullock, and she was approached like, this
is you and Keanu.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
So they knew they were going to get together again.
So yay, all right? Moving on.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
Remember Patrick Swarzenegger from The White Lotus. He's done a
lot of other things, but this has been his moments.

Speaker 4 (10:48):
Let me by Taylor Swift for a short time.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
Did he maybe I don't know you Swifty, I don't know,
but he looks incredibly like his mother Marius Shriver and
his father, Arnold Swarzenegger. He just does and he's really
good in his own right. Well, the word is he
wants to play and they're talking to him about playing

(11:11):
American Psycho when they reboot this classic movie the lead
Patrick Bateman, and he wants to do it.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
Sam's always up on the New Eats. He's the food Dude,
brought to you by International Animal Rescue.

Speaker 4 (11:26):
As the food Dude. I have scoured the internets looking
for free food Wednesday, because you know that is the
deadline day for the real ID oh correct, I figured
you know where these stress field days usually restaurants jump
on board and hand out free.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
Stuff and if you have your real idea already, no, no.

Speaker 4 (11:41):
No, it's just that it's a stress field day, everybody's
cramming to get there. Okay, I've only found one. Okay,
krispy Kreme.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
Of course, they're always diving in for stuff like this.

Speaker 4 (11:52):
You can get a free downut at Krispy Kreme on Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (11:55):
Just because whether you have there, they.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
Say no ID required. Ah okay, got just walk in
and tell them you want a free doughnut. Sweet adi.
Jack in the Box is closing two hundred restaurants. No,
I did not. Yeah, apparently they got problems under performing restaurants,
so they're going to return to simplicity for the jack.
There's one about my house. The lights just went off
on like three or four weeks ago, and I was like,
what's going on right now? I found out why?

Speaker 1 (12:18):
Oh, they closed it down.

Speaker 4 (12:19):
Yeah, okay, all the stuff's going from inside. I told
you a while back about jell O debuting a new
oat milk chocolate pudding. Yes, all good news is it's
now in grocery stores, so look for it. It's only chocolate.
That's the only one they're offering right now.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
That sounds good.

Speaker 4 (12:35):
Blacktoase free vegan version of their signature chocolate pudding.

Speaker 3 (12:39):
But oat milk.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
Yeah, yeah, we're all about oat milk at the house.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
We like it.

Speaker 4 (12:45):
Also back in stores right now are the Goldfish limited
Edition Old Bay seasoned ones.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
Oh, I got it. That's it. It goes.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
It works, Yeah, it does. I mean when you add
stuff to Goldfish, it always works.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
They haven't.

Speaker 4 (13:00):
I don't think I want to try.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (13:02):
Yeah, they probably are better than those uts chips with
the old basis. That's stuff to beat the crab. Shifts.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
Yeah, I love those.

Speaker 4 (13:10):
Over at Cinnabon, they've got a new treat for us.
They've partnered up with International Delight. Now have you ever
tried the International Delight Cinnabon Creamer.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
I have not.

Speaker 4 (13:18):
It adds troy to any cup of coffee. Those you're
just telling you right now. But they are also partnering
up to offer Cinnabon iced coffee and a can fifteen ounces.
It's got the great cinnamon and cream cheese flavoring along
with the coffee flavoring. And you can get that now.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
That sounds very sweet.

Speaker 4 (13:34):
Okay, big can too. Dave's Killer Bread Have you ever
tried it?

Speaker 2 (13:38):
I love it?

Speaker 4 (13:39):
Oh? Yeah, y is so good. Well, they got to
new some new products landing just in time for summer
grilling rolls, sandwich rolls, and twenty one grain whole seed
rolls that are good for hot dogs and sub sandwiches.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
Oh good, Thank you Killer Dave and Food Dude.
