go for coffee. And I'm gonna be honest, I used
to go for coffee first for years and so. But
the reasons were and it was like this whole study,
it'll speed up your metabolism for the rest of the day,

supposedly aid in your metabolism. And then the other one
was that it would help aid in your digest digestion,
your system. So I'm like, whatever, sure, And the article
said something about that you naturally wake up a little dehydrated.

I was like, I can see that, and I start
every day with a glass of water. Usually have time too.
On days I do too, I feel even better. Be
sure to go to the bathroom a lot faster.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
Yeah. Well, here's the deal. So that was like Thursday.
I've done that every single morning since then. Since talking
about that here, I did two glasses of water every
morning instead. I don't know about the metabolism. I don't
know about the digestion, but I do think that it
causes me to drink more water all day. Somehow that's

good because I'm drinking more and needing more all the time.
That crazy look.

They say that a lot of the ills and things
that we feel, And they're not saying it's a magic cure,
but when you're low on water in your body, it aches,
it does things it's not supposed to do because you
need water nine times out of ten. It's just being hydrated.

You drink ice water or regular water.

I like it regular.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
I don't really, Yeah, I go, I cannot drink ray.
I just have to have ice water.

Actually, I like it going into my body regular temperature,
so my body has to have a fight to bring
it down or I don't know.

feel good, better than something else to soothe, Right, I

You know they got their shake weights now one they
always sell TV. Oh yeah, you know, looks like a
dumb bell.

Gimmicky. That's gimmicky and so it was the belt machine.

It's all gimmicky belt was and they've had vibrating tables
for a long, long, long time. But that's what you're
saying is I can really kind.

Of believe that there's no substitute for true you know,
diet and exercise basic. But yeah, there have been studies
they've been doing them about whole body vibration supposedly being
good for you, as good for you as like forty
five minutes on a treadmill, as good for restoring muscle
and bone mass.

Well, you know, people because of physical ailments or whatever
can't exercise, you know what I mean? Me, No, I'm
not talking about self impose. Yeah, you know, I'm talking
about people who literally you can't and they need physical
therapists to help them.

You know what I mean millions of people. Physical therapy
is super important. No matter how technological the world gets,
physical therapy. We all have to have a physical life,
and physical therapy is so important to millions. But now
the study that they did restored bone mass and all
that in obese mice, So you know, take that the

Right, they're marketing this to mice. These are tiny, little machine.

They're studying it. But I'm gonna tell you what. Whenever
we had whenever the girls were small and they had
the little bouncy seat that had a vibrating thing on it,
I was like, oh my god, I want that.

it up like hot dog baked.

The problem that I'm having throwing away my garbage camp.

That for a second. Next hour, we're gonna test Sam
with a riddle. Riddle. Yeah, we had this riddle thing
going to the house last night. You're a smart guy.
I couldn't figure this one out, so I want to

It was like, what has four wheels and thighs? No,
my garbage truck, it's at it.

Yeah, on that one's some third grade.

Every kid just went and that was easy. Garbage can
I have problems getting rid of my garbage? Can? I
have one of those you know the two wheels, and
it's got the flip top lid and the truck and
they grab it with the machine and throw it in.
Well a few weeks ago, I come home and the
garbage can sitting out front, but it's missing a wheel

and it's not like the wheel fell off. Oh look,
let me put it back on. The wheel is gone,
which means somebody took my wheel. The garbage people threw
it in the truck. I don't know what. So I
had to call and get a new truck, a new
garbage can.

I didn't just send you a wheel, they sent you
a whole new can.
Speaker 3 (12:52):
Yeah. Well, it took about a week and the can
shows up. Well, the can shows up on garbage day.
So my one wheeled can is sitting out there full
of garbage. I come home from work and the other
can is sitting right next to it. So because the
broken ones full of garbage, they weren't going to take it.
So I was like, okay, fine whatever, So I.

Wait, they're supposed to take it had.
Speaker 3 (13:11):
Garbage in it, So they emptied the garbage and they
left the can.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
Oh you couldn't get them to try a broken.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
Throw garbage can because they think they're supposed to leave it, right,
you're gonna have to slice it up.

And so what I did is the next time it happened,
I put both cans out there, the new one full
of garbage, the old broken one empty, and I put
a sign on it that said trash, right, which you
know the fact you think, well, yeah, of course it's trash.
What do you think we're stupid? So they still left it,
so I can't get rid. I'm gonna have to call

them and say, come take your one wheel garbage can.

Or just you could try a different song. May please
take me I'm garbage, I'm trash.

Yeah exactly, flip it upside down, put a sign that
says take me seriously, and then I'm yours, because I
mean I would get that too. I wouldn't when I
imagine how many cans these guys are dealing with every
single day. So if they see one and if they
took it and it really wasn't supposed to be taken,
then that's another problem.

Or slice it up.

I did not go back yet for a second time,
but I really wanted to. I just we just couldn't
fit it into the weekend schedule.

Absolutely not, absolutely not. I mean the first night we
saw it that theater was sold out. It was tightened there,
and apparently it was that way all weekend.

Didn't have like the biggest March ever opening.

It did biggest there you go, record setting opening for
March one hundred and seventy million dollars.

Goodness, and it's.

is that good. I don't like pay attention to the critics,
but I know for me, it was really that good.
It was so beautifully done. So and there are surprises,
you know, we'll get to some of that. We're not
going to spoil anything for you, but we're gonna go
behind the scenes coming up next hour. Also this weekend.
I know you heard this that Chuck Berry died ninety

years old.

It shocked me. But then again on the other side,
it's like, you know, he's ninety. I've just been wondering
how long he was going to hang.

Out on how long ago. It's that he was I say,
celebrated in nineteen eighty five, he got the Grammy Lifetime
Achievement Award in the nineteen eighty six is when he
was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
So he'd been celebrated and appreciated, and it's like.

It wned well into his eighties.

Yeah, isn't that crazy? Yeah, just died in his home.
He survived by his wife of sixty eight years and
four children, so a lot of love around him his
entire life as well.

And Chuck Berry is the one I mean, he's very
instrumental in influencing the Beatles, the Stones, the Kinks, all
the classic rock bands you.

of that.

the scenes for you on the way on how they
got the Beast to be so fantastically real beastly looking
because they had to do it really crazy behind the
scenes of the Beast. Coming up next, Sam, can't wait

Oh cool, We'll do that coming up just before eight
right now, Beauty and the Beast Disney's live action. I'm
still stunned about how gorgeous and glorious The Beast is.
Speaker 8 (17:38):
Do you wish to take your father's place?
Speaker 2 (17:41):
He was the star of it for me, because they
all were, but he was just so fantastic. And it's
actor Dan Stevens. So I want to take you, guys,
let's take let's go behind the scenes a little bit
of how they did that, because he had to do
everything twice, like space acting and then body acting.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
Did did you have trouble again past the fact that
it was Matthew from Downton Absolutely not.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
He's Beast now, okay, good, who's Matthew?
Speaker 9 (18:05):
Ultimately we went for a fusion of technologies. Really, I
guess what you'd now call more traditional motion capture puppeteering
of a big muscle suit on stilts. So I was
inside this forty pounds thing, and I would play the
scenes with Emma with nothing on my face, nothing impeding
the performance, no mask, no latex for flacial capture. We
(18:27):
did separately, so every ten days or so, every couple
of weeks, I would go into a special booth that
they'd set up and my face would be sprayed with
about ten thousand UV dots and I would sit in
what I used to call the tron cage and I
would essentially play the whole scene again with just my face.
(18:47):
And you couldn't even really move my arms because they
would get in the way of the camera.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
So it was just isn't that crazy? Isn't that great?
So you had to do everything twice, first with his
body in the suit, and then second with just the
face at.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
Least with a just to suit on. You got to
do it with them a lots and yeah, I'm the
face thing by itself.
Speaker 2 (19:04):
So he had to do that with him facing him too,
say all had to do both. And then the dancing.
The dancing, he explains, he had to learn how to
do on his feet and on stilts.
Speaker 8 (19:13):
Initially with the you know, with the waltz.
Speaker 9 (19:16):
I learned the steps on the ground and then graduated
to the stilts, which was slightly terrifying for me, but
probably more for Emma. I think she was very worried
that I was going to tread on her toes and
steel stilts, which could have ruined the movie. But I didn't,
so I'm very proud of that.
Speaker 2 (19:34):
So beastly but so human because those eyes and those
facial expressions, I mean loved it.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
Think about him having to do that on stilts is crazy.
Speaker 2 (19:43):
Yeah, I know, but he had to. They had to
do it. Believable and that beast is so blue. You
want to reach up and touch his horns. He totally
do do.
Speaker 5 (19:51):

it was great. We were both like, oh my god,

eyes on that. I definitely have to see it again,
but just to pick up all the little nuances. And
I probably doesn't hurt that she's already my favorite princess
and it's my favorite Disney story ever.

because his his mom actually bought him a right handed

which he needs because he throws left handed. And when
we practiced in the past, you know, he had a
left handed glove. So they have to catch it, put
it down, and then throw.

of the glorious Beautiful Disney Live Action Beauty and the
Beast and literally what I was obsessed with after seeing
it was how great The beast was played by Dan Stevens,
an actor you may have known from Downtown Abbey.

He was the fabulous It meant a lot to him
to play this character.

You know, it's one of the great characters from fairy tales. Really,

and I were keen to sort of bring out is
this sense of a sort of petulant, spoilt child and
the sense of kind of entitledness that led to his downfall.

Really, when they first announced they were going to do
this movie, I wondered, how are they going to make
a beast that I am on board with? He's got
to be scary and scarred but beautiful underneath somehow and
so lost. And they did. They did it, and it's
crazy how they did it. I'll break it down without
a technical explanation. He did all of his acting and
(31:50):
all of his scenes with them in a huge, forty
pound beast suit. He said he had trouble to go
in the bathroom in it. He couldn't get in the doors,
but he's in this suit, but he had nothing on
his head, just his regular face, so he could act
with her and emotion with her and all that. He
had to do all that. Then they both had to
go back with him with all these electro lights on
his face like face capture.

And they do all that for the CGI, So he.
Speaker 2 (32:13):
Did everything else with just his face and had to
keep his body still. He had to do every scene
so that and then they put those two things together.
He had to do everything with body and then everything
with face, including learning how to dance the dance they
do on his feet, and then he had to do
it on stilts in the beast suit.

What I mean, off the ground on stilts. I think
it's cool when people that I've seen do painting, they're
painters that used those They're like, wow, man, that's cool.
I can't do that.

He his dad passed away many many years ago, and

It's all these elderly men, but they every day for
Saint Patrick's Day. They march the beginning of the parade
and it's really cool. So they have this cane full
of roses, like one hundred and seventy plastic roses, kind

the other day.

Yeah, they're Saint Patrick's Day.

And so what you do is you go around and
you passed rose out to women anybody, I guess, but
you give him a kiss on the cheek.

How the praide starts. I think I've met those men,
and so I've been giving roses on Patty's Stay.

And so once Eric's dad died, he you know, took

of the youngest ones, and so every year he invites
a new friend to come and join them, and so
now there's like a group of like fifteen of us.
He's been doing this for a while. This was my
third year. I got asked to do it three years ago,
and I'm going to do it every year. But before
the parade, we all meet up at his dad's grave
at the cemetery and we just have a toast and

have a few drinks and stuff. Just cheers to his
dad because that Saint Patrick Day was his favorite.

And there's this huge song, a huge there's a song
this theme songs, some Irish song. Can't remember the name
right now right ought to sing it and he told us, like,

where she put it on her body? Within her booty,
like when she wrapped up her ways.

You were pretty self limited on that. You could only
pretty much do stomach or behind, and I think that
was it there really wasn't. It would be dangerous to
shake your head, you know.

So yeah, that's crazy.

You know they got their shake weights now ones they
always sell on TV. Oh yeah, you know, looks like
a dumb bell and gimmicky. That's gimmicky. And so it
was the belt machine. It's all gimmicky.

Belt was and they that had vibrating tables for a long,
long long time. But that's what you're saying is I.
Speaker 2 (39:46):
Can really kind of believe that there's no substitute for
true you know, diet and exercise basic. But yeah, there
have been studies. They've been doing them about whole body
vibration supposedly being good for you, as good for you
as like forty five minutes on a treadmill, as good
for restoring muscle and bone mass.

Well, you know, because of physical ailments or whatever, can't exercise,
you know what I mean. Me, No, I'm not talking
about self impose. Yeah, you know, I'm talking about people
who literally you can't and they need physical therapists to
help them.

You know what I mean, millions of people. Physical therapy
is super important. No matter how technological the world gets,
physical therapy, we all have to have a physical life,
and physical therapy is so important to millions. But now
the study that they did restored bone mass and all
that in obese mice, So you know, take that the
way you want to.

But wait, wait, wait, they're marketing this to mice, the machines.
Speaker 2 (40:38):
They're studying it. But I'm going to tell you what.
Whenever we had whenever the girls were small and they
had the little bouncy seat that had a vibrating thing
on it. I was like, oh my god, I want that.
Why can't they make for adult I guess they do,
probably like sharp.

get out a clause. This huge Jagman movie is also
getting great for everybody who's seen it says it's so
great like Awards season great really back to Beauty and
the Beast, it was number one, expected to be for
quite a while, such great performances. And I haven't made

it back to see it yet, but that's my plan
plenty maybe one night this week.

With the Weather Channel naming winter storms, well it's just
it's a new thing and it's weird. And what's weird
to me about the winter storm naming. I don't have
a problem with storms getting a name. I get confused too.
They start at the end of the alphabet. It's like,
why just a random you know, there's no pattern or anything.
But the thing that gets me is it's like a hurricane.
The National Weather Service does this. This is the weather

channel that's taking it upon themselves to go ahead and
just randomly.

Doesn't have any credibility with you.

They're not the official whatever.

They're the weather channel.

But you know, again, I don't have any problem with them.
They give a name, it's easier to recall the story,
you know what I mean. If you don't name it,
then it's just another storm. Apparently Stephen Colbert has the
same issue. He's like, really, yeah. His thing is they
have no authority to name anything. They're not a part
of the government. They have you know, he says, I
have as much authority as they do. Because he was
upset about Stella last week. You know, why are they

calling it that? So with the weather channels done, they've
come back and they said, okay, that was the second
big storm. The third big storm that comes up, we're
naming it cold Colbert.

Of course, really they're getting back at him.

So the next big one that comes up, look for
a winter storm cold Bear to be attacking the East Coast.

Hey, Sam, we started playing some games with the kids. Riddles, okay,

Remember last week we were talking about how you're supposed
to have what first thing in the morning, to drink water, water,
at least a cup or two of water before you
go for coffee. And I'm gonna be honest, I used
to go for coffee first for years and so. But
the reasons were and it was like this whole study,
it'll speed up your metabolism for the rest of the day,

supposedly aid in your metabolism. And then the other one
was that it would help aid in your digest digestion,
your system. So I'm like, whatever, sure, And the article
said something about that you naturally wake up a little dehydrated.

I was like, I can see that, and I start
every day with a glass of water. Usually have time too.
On days I do too, I feel even better. Be
sure to go to the bathroom a lot faster.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
Yeah. Well, here's the deal. So that was like Thursday.
I've done that every single morning since then. Since talking
about that here, I did two glasses of water every
morning instead. I don't know about the metabolism. I don't
know about the digestion, but I do think that it
causes me to drink more water all day. Somehow that's

good because I'm drinking more and needing more all the time.
That crazy look.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
They say that a lot of the ills and things
that we feel, And they're not saying it's a magic cure,
but when you're low on water in your body, it aches,
it does things it's not supposed to do because you
need water nine times out of ten. It's just being hydrated.

You drink ice water or regular water.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
I like it regular.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
I don't really, Yeah, I go, I cannot drink ray.
I just have to have ice water.

Actually, I like it going into my body regular temperature,
so my body has to have a fight to bring
it down or I don't know.

Feeling. I love.

I love feeling that cold going well.

They say that that's what speeds up your metabolism too,
the cold water. Okay, yeah, and I can drink it
either way. Water. I don't know, ibout like it hot.
Although I know somebody that used to go to the
coffee machine here and put just a cup of hot
water in his cup and walk away and drink it.

Really for what reason? Soothing just made it made it
feel good, better than something else to soothe, Right, I
like it?

it would shake you around and supposedly that thing would

You were pretty self limited on that. You can only
pretty much do stomach or behind, And I think that
was it. There really wasn't. It would be dangerous to
shake your head, you know, so.

You know they got their shake weights now one they
always sell TV. Oh yeah, you know, looks like a
dumb bell.

Gimmicky. That's gimmicky and so it was the belt machine.

It's all gimmicky belt was and they've had vibrating tables
for a long, long, long time. But that's what you're
saying is I can really kind.

Of believe that there's no substitute for true you know,
diet and exercise basic. But yeah, there have been studies
they've been doing them about whole body vibration supposedly being
good for you, as good for you as like forty
five minutes on a treadmill, as good for restoring muscle
and bone mass.

Well, you know, people because of physical ailments or whatever
can't exercise, you know what I mean? Me, No, I'm
not talking about self impose. Yeah, you know, I'm talking
about people who literally you can't and they need physical
therapists to help them.

You know what I mean millions of people. Physical therapy
is super important. No matter how technological the world gets,
physical therapy. We all have to have a physical life,
and physical therapy is so important to millions. But now
the study that they did restored bone mass and all
that in obese mice, So you know, take that the
way you want to Wait.

Right, they're marketing this to mice. These are tiny, little machine.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
They're studying it. But I'm gonna tell you what. Whenever
we had whenever the girls were small and they had
the little bouncy seat that had a vibrating thing on it,
I was like, oh my god, I want that.

Why can't they make us for adult set.

I guess they do, probably like Sharper.

going to the house last night. You're a smart guy.
I couldn't figure this one out, so I want to

It was like, what has four wheels and thighs? No,
my garbage truck, it's at it.

Yeah, on that one's some third grade.

Every kid just went and that was easy. Garbage can
I have problems getting rid of my garbage? Can? I
have one of those you know the two wheels, and
it's got the flip top lid and the truck and
they grab it with the machine and throw it in.
Well a few weeks ago, I come home and the
garbage can sitting out front, but it's missing a wheel

and it's not like the wheel fell off. Oh look,
let me put it back on. The wheel is gone,
which means somebody took my wheel. The garbage people threw
it in the truck. I don't know what. So I
had to call and get a new truck, a new
garbage can.

I didn't just send you a wheel, they sent you
a whole new can.
Speaker 3 (12:52):
Yeah. Well, it took about a week and the can
shows up. Well, the can shows up on garbage day.
So my one wheeled can is sitting out there full
of garbage. I come home from work and the other
can is sitting right next to it. So because the
broken ones full of garbage, they weren't going to take it.
So I was like, okay, fine whatever, So I.

Wait, they're supposed to take it had.

Garbage in it, So they emptied the garbage and they
left the can.

Oh you couldn't get them to try a broken.

Throw garbage can because they think they're supposed to leave it, right,
you're gonna have to slice it up.

And so what I did is the next time it happened,
I put both cans out there, the new one full
of garbage, the old broken one empty, and I put
a sign on it that said trash, right, which you
know the fact you think, well, yeah, of course it's trash.
What do you think we're stupid? So they still left it,
so I can't get rid. I'm gonna have to call

them and say, come take your one wheel garbage can.

Or just you could try a different song. May please
take me I'm garbage, I'm trash.

Yeah exactly, flip it upside down, put a sign that
says take me seriously, and then I'm yours, because I
mean I would get that too. I wouldn't when I
imagine how many cans these guys are dealing with every
single day. So if they see one and if they
took it and it really wasn't supposed to be taken,
then that's another problem.

I know you heard this that Chuck Berry died ninety

years old.

It shocked me. But then again on the other side,
it's like, you know, he's ninety. I've just been wondering
how long he was going to hang.

Out on how long ago. It's that he was I say,
celebrated in nineteen eighty five, he got the Grammy Lifetime
Achievement Award in the nineteen eighty six is when he
was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
So he'd been celebrated and appreciated, and it's like.

It wned well into his eighties.

Yeah, isn't that crazy? Yeah, just died in his home.
He survived by his wife of sixty eight years and
four children, so a lot of love around him his
entire life as well.

instrumental in influencing the Beatles, the Stones, the Kinks, all
the classic rock bands you.

Oh cool, We'll do that coming up just before eight
right now, Beauty and the Beast Disney's live action. I'm
still stunned about how gorgeous and glorious The Beast is.
Speaker 8 (17:38):

He was the star of it for me, because they
all were, but he was just so fantastic. And it's
actor Dan Stevens. So I want to take you, guys,
let's take let's go behind the scenes a little bit
of how they did that, because he had to do
everything twice, like space acting and then body acting.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
Did did you have trouble again past the fact that
it was Matthew from Downton Absolutely not.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
He's Beast now, okay, good, who's Matthew?
Speaker 9 (18:05):
Ultimately we went for a fusion of technologies. Really, I
guess what you'd now call more traditional motion capture puppeteering
of a big muscle suit on stilts. So I was
inside this forty pounds thing, and I would play the
scenes with Emma with nothing on my face, nothing impeding
the performance, no mask, no latex for flacial capture. We
(18:27):
did separately, so every ten days or so, every couple
of weeks, I would go into a special booth that
they'd set up and my face would be sprayed with
about ten thousand UV dots and I would sit in
what I used to call the tron cage and I
would essentially play the whole scene again with just my face.
(18:47):
And you couldn't even really move my arms because they
would get in the way of the camera.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
So it was just isn't that crazy? Isn't that great?
So you had to do everything twice, first with his
body in the suit, and then second with just the
face at.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
Least with a just to suit on. You got to
do it with them a lots and yeah, I'm the
face thing by itself.
Speaker 2 (19:04):
So he had to do that with him facing him too,
say all had to do both. And then the dancing.
The dancing, he explains, he had to learn how to
do on his feet and on stilts.
Speaker 8 (19:13):
Initially with the you know, with the waltz.
Speaker 9 (19:16):
I learned the steps on the ground and then graduated
to the stilts, which was slightly terrifying for me, but
probably more for Emma. I think she was very worried
that I was going to tread on her toes and
steel stilts, which could have ruined the movie. But I didn't,
so I'm very proud of that.
Speaker 2 (19:34):
So beastly but so human because those eyes and those
facial expressions, I mean loved it.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
Think about him having to do that on stilts is crazy.
Speaker 2 (19:43):
Yeah, I know, but he had to. They had to
do it. Believable and that beast is so blue. You
want to reach up and touch his horns. He totally
do do.
Speaker 5 (19:51):

it was great. We were both like, oh my god,

I feel like there was so much to feast my
eyes on that. I definitely have to see it again,
but just to pick up all the little nuances. And
I probably doesn't hurt that she's already my favorite princess
and it's my favorite Disney story ever.

Oh I know, I'm going next week and I'm gonna
take my daughter and meet up with a bunch of
friends and we're all going to go next weekend and
see it again. I'm like, oh, I want to see
this again.

Let me tell you what else. Taylor is our teenager
and she loves theater. She's actually quite good. She's involved

You know, we were walking out. My husband's like, I
don't remember that from the animation that he's singing.

I'm like, I don't even it happened.

that came out, and you know, the last made you laugh.

It was funny in ways you didn't expect. It was
not seen for scene, but they didn't leave out anything.

this yet. Missus Potts was perfect. I mean, can you
even it's possible that she was better than Angela Lansbury?

we had him over the weekend, me and Jackson and
Mattie all together. Uh. And this is this is cool
because his his mom actually bought him a right handed
you know how he's playing catcher. He likes to play
catcher for baseball. She bought him a right handed glove,

which he needs because he throws left handed. And when
we practiced in the past, you know, he had a
left handed glove. So they have to catch it, put
it down, and then throw.

Then he doesn't throw well with his right hand.

Wait, so he would have to stop in midstream take

we did that for you know a bit, and got

me this morning from throwing baseballs all weekend.

So I told him next time, because next time he
comes in is going to be for Easter weekend and

real practice.

And so you're doing all around sports now, basketball with
your oldest son, baseball with Parker, Yeah, and.

get the certificate he and his sister Mattie for French
you know, because they went to the same school up
through this past year and it was a certificate they

They wanted to go to the parade. Okay, well think
about it. It's the weekend. I know, you're a kid,
I know. And I was like, well, I was like,
I'm not getting in the middle of this one. Y'all

of the glorious Beautiful Disney Live Action Beauty and the
Beast and literally what I was obsessed with after seeing
it was how great The beast was played by Dan Stevens,
an actor you may have known from Downtown Abbey.

He was the fabulous It meant a lot to him
to play this character.

You know, it's one of the great characters from fairy tales. Really,
and I was very excited. My wife was very excited,
my kids were very excited. So yeah, something that Bill
and I were keen to sort of bring out is
this sense of a sort of petulant, spoilt child and
the sense of kind of entitledness that led to his downfall.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
Really, when they first announced they were going to do
this movie, I wondered, how are they going to make
a beast that I am on board with? He's got
to be scary and scarred but beautiful underneath somehow and
so lost. And they did. They did it, and it's
crazy how they did it. I'll break it down without
a technical explanation. He did all of his acting and
(31:50):
all of his scenes with them in a huge, forty
pound beast suit. He said he had trouble to go
in the bathroom in it. He couldn't get in the doors,
but he's in this suit, but he had nothing on
his head, just his regular face, so he could act
with her and emotion with her and all that. He
had to do all that. Then they both had to
go back with him with all these electro lights on
his face like face capture.
Speaker 1 (32:10):
And they do all that for the CGI, So he.
Speaker 2 (32:13):
Did everything else with just his face and had to
keep his body still. He had to do every scene
so that and then they put those two things together.
He had to do everything with body and then everything
with face, including learning how to dance the dance they
do on his feet, and then he had to do
it on stilts in the beast suit.
Speaker 1 (32:32):
What I mean, off the ground on stilts. I think
it's cool when people that I've seen do painting, they're
painters that used those They're like, wow, man, that's cool.
I can't do that.
Speaker 2 (32:42):
Yeah, nerve wracking and he didn't step on her toes
and that.

It's all these elderly men, but they every day for
Saint Patrick's Day. They march the beginning of the parade
and it's really cool. So they have this cane full
of roses, like one hundred and seventy plastic roses, kind

the other day.

Yeah, they're Saint Patrick's Day.

And so what you do is you go around and
you passed rose out to women anybody, I guess, but
you give him a kiss on the cheek.

How the praide starts. I think I've met those men,
and so I've been giving roses on Patty's Stay.

And so once Eric's dad died, he you know, took
over his spot in this group, and he was one
of the youngest ones, and so every year he invites
a new friend to come and join them, and so
now there's like a group of like fifteen of us.
He's been doing this for a while. This was my
third year. I got asked to do it three years ago,
and I'm going to do it every year. But before
the parade, we all meet up at his dad's grave
at the cemetery and we just have a toast and

have a few drinks and stuff. Just cheers to his
dad because that Saint Patrick Day was his favorite.

And there's this huge song, a huge there's a song
this theme songs, some Irish song. Can't remember the name
right now right ought to sing it and he told us, like,
you have to know the words.

body vibration thing being an actual thing and they're doing

studies on it, and it made.

Funny is this is there's this is nothing. There's nothing
new about this, you know that forever. I mean there's
been the whole you know, shake and take it off. Yeah,
my grandmother had one of those vibrating belt machines. You know,
remember you're.
Speaker 3 (39:03):
Plugging the war the old kind.
Speaker 1 (39:05):
Yeah, yeah, and saying we as kids, man, we thought
that was cool. We played on it, you know, plug
that thing and it would shake you around, and supposedly
that thing would help you lose a few inches. I
don't know if it ever really did.
Speaker 2 (39:17):
Okay, well let me ask you this. Do you know
where she put it on her body? Within her booty,
like when she wrapped up her ways.
Speaker 1 (39:23):
You were pretty self limited on that. You could only
pretty much do stomach or behind, and I think that
was it there really wasn't. It would be dangerous to
shake your head, you know.
Speaker 2 (39:30):
So yeah, that's crazy.
Speaker 3 (39:32):
You know they got their shake weights now ones they
always sell on TV. Oh yeah, you know, looks like
a dumb bell and gimmicky. That's gimmicky. And so it
was the belt machine. It's all gimmicky.
Speaker 1 (39:42):
Belt was and they that had vibrating tables for a long,
long long time. But that's what you're saying is I.
Speaker 2 (39:46):
Can really kind of believe that there's no substitute for
true you know, diet and exercise basic. But yeah, there
have been studies. They've been doing them about whole body
vibration supposedly being good for you, as good for you
as like forty five minutes on a treadmill, as good
for restoring muscle and bone mass.
Speaker 1 (40:02):
Well, you know, because of physical ailments or whatever, can't exercise,
you know what I mean. Me, No, I'm not talking
about self impose. Yeah, you know, I'm talking about people
who literally you can't and they need physical therapists to
help them.
Speaker 2 (40:15):
You know what I mean, millions of people. Physical therapy
is super important. No matter how technological the world gets,
physical therapy, we all have to have a physical life,
and physical therapy is so important to millions. But now
the study that they did restored bone mass and all
that in obese mice, So you know, take that the
way you want to.
Speaker 1 (40:34):
But wait, wait, wait, they're marketing this to mice, the machines.
Speaker 2 (40:38):
They're studying it. But I'm going to tell you what.
Whenever we had whenever the girls were small and they
had the little bouncy seat that had a vibrating thing
on it. I was like, oh my god, I want that.
Why can't they make for adult I guess they do,
probably like sharp.
Speaker 1 (40:56):
Right vibrating chairs and stuff. Yeah, so good works on mice.
I guess it'll be the rest of us next.
Speaker 2 (41:01):
Other people say, though it's not they can cause you
gotta be careful about the vibrations.

office weekend of four right, a record for a March opening,
one hundred and seventy million dollars. King not King Kong,
but Kong Skull Iron Felt to the number two spot,

and then Logan's still hanging in there. This this clause
get out a clause. This huge Jagman movie is also
getting great for everybody who's seen it says it's so
great like Awards season great really back to Beauty and
the Beast, it was number one, expected to be for
quite a while, such great performances. And I haven't made

it back to see it yet, but that's my plan
plenty maybe one night this week.

bent out of shape and it's like Monopoly. Yeah, it's Monopoly.
I mean we know the shoe and the wheelbarrow are
now out. We already knew the thimble and the iron
are out based on past who's out. Yeah, the shoe
is out. Those are like four original pieces.
Speaker 2 (42:39):
I think the shoe is universal and as I always.
Speaker 3 (42:41):
Thought that the thimble should stay, even though I guess
kids today don't know where the thimble is. It just
always seemed to be part of Monopoly. But they have
decided to replace the all of those pieces right now
with a rubber Ducky a penguin, and the t Rex
a penguin. Yeah, what why, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (43:04):
We're going with animals.

The public got to vote.
Speaker 2 (43:06):

The t rex I think is kind of funny.

Basically, it's a little thing by you know, to sell
more because if you have the old pieces, well great,
that's great. But when they put these new ones out
in I think it's August, it's coming out with the
new pieces.
Speaker 2 (43:25):
If you have the old pieces, then you have something made.
Speaker 3 (43:28):
Well, now I got to go buy the new set
because it's got the new pieces.
Speaker 2 (43:30):
You have an actual monopoly game at your house.
Speaker 3 (43:33):
I do not, I do, nobody, nobody plays it.

But maybe you got you got the old pieces in there.

With the Weather Channel naming winter storms, well it's just
it's a new thing and it's weird. And what's weird
to me about the winter storm naming. I don't have
a problem with storms getting a name. I get confused too.
They start at the end of the alphabet. It's like,
why just a random you know, there's no pattern or anything.
But the thing that gets me is it's like a hurricane.
The National Weather Service does this. This is the weather
(44:09):
channel that's taking it upon themselves to go ahead and
just randomly.
Speaker 2 (44:13):
Doesn't have any credibility with you.
Speaker 3 (44:14):
They're not the official whatever.
Speaker 2 (44:17):
They're the weather channel.
Speaker 1 (44:19):
But you know, again, I don't have any problem with them.
They give a name, it's easier to recall the story,
you know what I mean. If you don't name it,
then it's just another storm. Apparently Stephen Colbert has the
same issue. He's like, really, yeah. His thing is they
have no authority to name anything. They're not a part
of the government. They have you know, he says, I
have as much authority as they do. Because he was
upset about Stella last week. You know, why are they
(44:41):
calling it that? So with the weather channels done, they've
come back and they said, okay, that was the second
big storm. The third big storm that comes up, we're
naming it cold Colbert.
Speaker 2 (44:50):
Of course, really they're getting back at him.
Speaker 3 (44:52):
So the next big one that comes up, look for
a winter storm cold Bear to be attacking the East Coast.
Speaker 2 (45:01):
Hey, Sam, we started playing some games with the kids. Riddles, okay,
and we want to play with you, okay, coming up
tomorrow morning. We'll do well, cuz I don't know you're
the Riddler. There's the real Riddler.
Speaker 1 (45:12):
Did great earlier this morning.
Speaker 2 (45:14):
Again, we'll do the best one. We came up with
the best one that stomped almost everybody at the house
for like at least fifteen to twenty minutes. All right,
we'll do that one tomorrow morning.
