Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Murphy Salmon Jody Daily Show Podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Lots of ways to join us, and we do read
and see every single thing that rolls into social media
and Murphy Salmonjody dot com. Becky sent this email. Heard
about your three ingredient banana bread the other day. That's
our daughter Taylor's banana bread recipe. She says. The second
time I've made it, I've used chocolate cake mix and
(00:25):
I've added white chocolate chips. So that's banana smashed up
chocolate cake mix and white chocolate chips.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
That sounds different.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
Yeah, it can't go wrong with chocolate cake. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
The first time, I.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Oh, that's really technically than banana cake, right at that point.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
I guess.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
So that's the trick with the breads because if they're
not sweet enough, and then there's some people that like
it that way. Right, still bread, but like Jody's pumpkin bread,
for example, it's closer to cake. It's not cake, but
it's cake.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Like Taylor's banana bread is moist because of the bananas,
and then she adds a dark chocolate chips and the
fat ones and that is what makes it win. So
thank you for that, Becky, keep it coming. We like
to know what you're making from Facebook.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
We have a comment for you, Jody from Lately. It's
about your dog Champ and his aging. Maybe a way
to help him out here. I'm not sure if you've
tried Eastern medicine with Champ. No, it's worked. Wonders for
my dog on Aussie that is thirteen whoa before Christmas,
she was only able to take two steps, would have
to sit down, couldn't get on the couch or do
much of anything but go to the bathroom and come in.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
So what is she getting supplements? Is that what she means?
Speaker 3 (01:33):
We started acupuncture and Chinese herbsay she is back to normal.
It's a crazy turnaround what lately.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
We're not doing Eastern medicine. We're doing down the street medicine.
That's where our vet is.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
How do you get a dog to sit still long
enough to do acupuncture?
Speaker 2 (01:48):
Well, if she's just laying around all the time, that
is incredible.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
I mean I think you would try anything for your
pet to make them feel better if nothing else is working.
Right now, for chair up, these shots, these injunctions seemed
to work, and then I'm giving in these chows, these
glucosamine chews every night. They do not smell good. He
likes them. Yeah, but I think those are working too.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
And he's moving around fine.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
He's moving around around a lot better than he was.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
When we go on a walk. He sits down and
rest two or three times. Murphy got to see it
firsthand the other night because Murphy went with him. He
was like, oh, he really does rest. I'm like, yeah,
we're gonna sit here and take a break.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
I had to really be patient because it was like,
come on, come on, Jim.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
Thank you Lately and Becky join the conversation anytime.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
Coming up at six fifty, Jody has three things to
know today and next, Sam is the food dude.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
Toy Story pizzas are coming to Papa John's.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
Sam's always up on the new eats.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
He's the food dude.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
Papa John's is going to be selling Toy Story pizzas
starting on June.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
The first Ah makes sense, right, Yeah, Pizza Planet or
Blood Truck or whatever it is.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
It's odd. It's it's the first ever pizza collaboration for
the Toy Story franchise, which is like a no dud
of me with Pizza Planet.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
But anyway, Yeah, it's been around for almost thirty years,
the movie franchise.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
Now somebody, somebody dropped the ball, now you know.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
Now these are gonna be a Toy Story five inspired
personal pizzas. There's three of them. Space Ranger Roni which
is double pepperoni. Now we're gonna have Reach for the
Pie Pizza, which is Italian sausage and banana peppers and sheriffs.
Round Up Pizza, which is going to be a smoky
Southern style barbecue sauce, grilled chicken, onions and mozzarella.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
That sounds good. That sounds really good.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
They're even giving us a new dip cup, Root and
Tootin Ranch, which is going to be a combination of pepperoni,
pizza and.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
Ranch nice in the cup.
Speaker 3 (03:37):
It starts June the first, so look for them. And
each of the pizzas has their own little special box.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
Okay with stuff on it. Cute.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
Today's a big day at Subway. You can go get
yourself a free poppy pre biotic soda. They've added the
poppy sodas two of them, Strawberry, lemon and orange to
their menu at Subway. So to kick it off today,
if you are a sub club member, and you order
any foot long or six inch today, they'll give you
a free poppy.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
And they have good prices on subs again. Right, they
have a menu.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
That's like a Galerne regular deals for ninety nine a days.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
They're here to compete.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
Man, So is that poppy in a can? Or is
it a fountain drink? This poppy is in a can.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
I thought it would be the fountain drink since they
have those, but this is going to be in the can.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
Okay, Pillsbury in the can sounds like something.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
Whatever, it's a game the kids play. Can we play
Poppy in a can? Pillsbury dropping three new baking mixes
and these were kind of cool because they're Mexican inspired.
There's court Thedo Cake, which is the pink cake. There's
also Mexican wedding cookies.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
Yes, I'm telling you my favorite kind of food.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
Well, here they got the box, Now go make some
and choco flying cake on the bottom.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
Oh that sounds good.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
You got a new pop tart to tell you about two? Okay,
strawberry cheesecake cheesecake inside with strawberry swirls and I'm on top.
There's gonna be a little Strawberry Swirl as well.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
You think they're gonna come up with everything they can
ever come up with, and they don't know. They just
keep the eye.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
I'll keeps getting longer and longer.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
Coming up next in your Hollywood Outsider, the superhero that
Michael Jackson really wanted to play the latest buzz Jody's
Hollywood Outsider. Everybody's listening to and we're all talking about
Michael Jackson more these days because of the Michael Jackson biopic,
of course, and now we're learning things about Michael we
didn't know. Stam Lee was in talks with Michael Jackson
(05:29):
in the nineteen nineties. Did you hear this rumor?
Speaker 3 (05:32):
Family from Marvel?
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Yeah, to buy Marvel together. Michael Jackson was really interested
in Marvel characters. He was really interested in Marvel altogether.
And of course he was sitting on a lot of money,
and he thought, well, I did this with the Beatles.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
Yeah, on the Beatles, why not buy Marvel?
Speaker 2 (05:50):
He apparently really he also was very interested in being
a part of some or one of the movies. He
wanted to play a specific hero. Oh who Spider Man?
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Did he really?
Speaker 2 (06:02):
And you know what you could see him doing that
could you not.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
He probably could have pulled it off. Can you imagine.
I mean, look, he was pretty business savvy, and if
he don't own Marble, that would have been.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
Stan Lee has been talking about the fact that it's like,
can you imagine how different it would have been if
he would have lived and he could see the way
became the universe would have been well, he just loved it.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
He would have been still alive for the first few movies.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
I guess, so, I don't know sure inline but anyway,
Michael Jackson almost bought some Marble because he wanted to
be Spider Man.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
Coming up at six fifty, Jody has three things to
note today.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
Mother's Day is this weekend, And I know it's different
for every single family and every single mother and every
single child. It just is we hosted just the other day.
You know, if she's in the thick of it, and
she's busy, and she's the chef and the counselor and
the planner and she's everything to everybody, she could use
a break. You know, give her what you can. If
she doesn't see her kids very often, she would probably
(07:05):
like to see her kids. It just depends. There are
you know, moms who are struggling because they've lost children.
So Mother's Day is not one size fits all. We
know that. But Mother's Day is this weekend, so we
have to talk about it, you know. And I also
think there's a lot of pressure because it's your mother.
You're like, she gave me life, she's my mother. Do
(07:27):
I possibly do?
Speaker 4 (07:28):
Well?
Speaker 2 (07:29):
You just know your mother, you know. I know you
struggle with that, Sam.
Speaker 3 (07:32):
Oh, yeah, because she has everything and she always does that.
You don't need to get me anything. So take her
out to eat, spend some time with her.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
She does want time with you, Like you said.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
She read doesn't get to see me that much, so
she just wants to see.
Speaker 2 (07:43):
Me, right, And when you leave, you can say, glad
you got to see me.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
See you next year.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
I'm on our face.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
I don't struggle with that anymore. Unfortunately I don't have
my mom.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
Yeah and for ten years.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
Yeah, but you know what, but you, Jody, the mother
to our daughters, you know, you get my focus like that.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
So what are we doing?
Speaker 1 (08:03):
Actually, we have some plans. They're a surprise.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
Okay, Well I kind of know about some of them
because the girls have been talking to me a little
bit it's okay, it's okay. Moms are usually the ones
who plan these things, and so the girls have been
asking me some questions. So I'm excited, all right. Joe
Anne sent this to our Facebook page. Mother's Day is
hard for me. I lost my mom in twenty eighteen
and nobody loved me like her. Yeah, you feel that
(08:27):
too on Mother's Day when you used to sort of
shower your mother with things, or you had your family traditions,
it can be hard. Kathy sent this Happy Mother's Day
to all. Love your mom. She may not have always
made the best decisions or the ones you wished she did,
but she tried to be the best she could, even
if you think she didn't. Mom would do anything for you.
(08:47):
Love your mom.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
Yeah, Marine sent this. My son is coming to visit
from out of town. His gift to me is a
Best of Bread CD, which I requested.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
That's awesome, keeping it real.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
Happy Mother's Day.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
Up next, Three things to know today.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
Three things to know today. Number one, if you're walking
around with an iPhone fifteen or sixteen, would you like
your piece of that pie? That two hundred and fifty
million dollar false advertising settlement they've been sued. So when
these phones came out, they promised, you know, AI functions
that didn't even exist at this time. And you're like,
you sign up and you wanted to get a new
(09:29):
SI that could do all these things, and these phones
apparently don't do all those things. They've been sued. Apple says, look,
we didn't really do anything wrong. But if you want
your share, you could get twenty five to almost one
hundred dollars back as you're part of that settlement. You
just have to show them your phone's serial number to
prove you have one of the devices.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
I could do that.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
Number two, if you have any kind of surgery in
the hospital, even if it's just a quick little they
say that if they tell you to, if they come
into the room and tell you to get up and
walk around just a little little bit, don't fight it.
Do it. It reduces your chance of surgery complications by
a significant amount. Taking steps as soon as you can,
getting back up on the horse if you will, and
(10:11):
moving around improves your recovery almost more than anything they
could give you. Yeah, and number three, if you're looking
for something to stream with mom this weekend, there's networks
coming together for you there's a Parent Trap and Bad
Moms on TBS. Netflix has a list of twenty shows
you can binge together, like Call the Midwife, Bridgerton, Dead
(10:32):
to Me, even Gilmore Girls with Your Just Ideas. If
you're home with mom.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
You're up to date.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
Three things to know today.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
Teacher and Nurses Appreciation Week, So keep it coming. Eight
seven seven three one zero four MSJ.
Speaker 1 (10:49):
How are you, Mandy.
Speaker 5 (10:51):
We're having a great day. We're on the way to
pick up some bagels for the Sacred Heart teachers to
celebrate them for teacher Appreciation Weeks.
Speaker 2 (10:59):
Yeah, like a like an assortment of bagels or everything
or blueberry What are we talking all of them?
Speaker 5 (11:07):
Yeah, we're ahead of the Little Market and Ocean Springs.
They have homemade traditional bagels over there, so we're getting
a whole spread for the teachers, all the different kinds
of cream, cheeses, and any bagel you could think of
all week long.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
They're spoiled.
Speaker 4 (11:22):
They deserve it.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
Yeah, they do deserve it.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
All right.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
I love that you're doing that. So how many are
you picking up? Do you mind me asking how many
bagels you're ordering?
Speaker 5 (11:29):
Fifty five?
Speaker 2 (11:30):
Yeah, Now your car is gonna smell incredible.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
Yeah they will.
Speaker 5 (11:35):
I'll be a little jealous because I did not.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
Order one from us.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
Yeah, you're gonna have to go back on the way
out and get one.
Speaker 5 (11:43):
Yeah, I should probably, I should have probably ordered one
for myself here right. Yeah, you know elementary school parents.
There's a big joke they call it May Simer.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
Oh yeah, comes around. Because I was just telling the
guys today, it's like a second December. It is so hectic,
remember it.
Speaker 5 (12:02):
You know, it's like awards ceremonies and class parties and
we've got a piano recital tonight and first Communion is
happening this.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
Yeah, and you know what the advice is for Macember.
It's the same as December. Let some things go and
get as much support as you can from your partner,
from other friends, from teacher, like whoever can help you.
Speaker 5 (12:27):
Yes, my son Sig is in the car. He wants
to give a shout out to his teacher.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
If that's okay, Hey, Sig, tell him, Oh so sweet.
Speaker 5 (12:39):
Tell him about your teacher.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
What's her name, Miss bruce Ard. What do you like
about Miss bruce Ard?
Speaker 4 (12:45):
She encouraging me.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
Oh, she gives great hugs. I think that's important. In
elementary school.
Speaker 4 (12:54):
Yeah, it is.
Speaker 5 (12:55):
She's been a great teacher for him. So when we
heard your call for you know what the shout out teachers,
I said, let's call them. So we just wanted to
tell y'all how great is so you can give your
a little shout out.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
Well, thank you, thanks for calling Mandy. Good to hear
from you, Sig and shout out to miss Brusar.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
Yeah, enjoy the bagels.
Speaker 5 (13:14):
Awesome, You'll have a great day.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
Thank you you too. We appreciate that. And by the way, teachers,
yesterday's After the Show podcast is fully dedicated to you
for Teacher Appreciation Week.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
Three Things to Know Today is on the way at
seven fifty and coming up next your morning pick me up,
Morning pick me up time. So, when a business goes away,
a business that was a part of your life in
a major way, you grieve it. You're sad about it.
And so have you heard about all the stories about
people who are so sad about Spirit Airlines going away
(13:45):
because of love, because of relationships that they were able
long distance relationships that they were able to keep because
of the low airfares. Oh, real lady who wrote an
opinion piece she works for the Detroit Free pre and
she literally said that, you know, she owes her marriage
to Spirit Airlines, and it's this beautiful story. She lives
(14:08):
in Detroit and she had met this man in Detroit.
He had moved though away to Baltimore. They started connecting
on social media and slowly became close, and then they
started dating long distance, and when it got really serious,
he would take the ninety nine dollars flight often to
see her for the weekend. For long weekends, she says,
all the things that couples. If you have five hundred
(14:29):
miles between you, you don't get to hang out and
watch movies together on Friday night. Often, you don't get
to go stroll in the park on Saturday, except that
they could very often, almost every other weekend. When they
started getting serious, he would fly to see her for
ninety nine dollars fair.
Speaker 1 (14:45):
That's I mean, that's cheap for airfare.
Speaker 2 (14:47):
It is. And she wrote this whole story about watch
being in the airport and seeing him coming toward her
and she's like, oh, there he is. You know, my
heart's racing. And then there's another flight where he also
paid ninety nine dollars for safe route. He would do
it all the time where he had an engagement ring
in his pocket. Aw and he had planned to like
propose to her on Saturday. This was Friday. When he arrived,
(15:09):
he couldn't wait. Like they have a legit love story. Now,
as time went on and their relationship went on and
they were engaged for a while, you know, the airfares
went up. He ended up moving to Detroit anyway, so
they are married now and live together. But she explained
that it made dating possible. This is the man, this
(15:29):
is her person, and she wouldn't have been able to
date him because of the miles. They wouldn't have been
able to spend the time together without Spirit Airlines. And
Spirit Airlines was mentioned in their wedding ceremony.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
Was really so it's sweet, but it's also bittersweet for them.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
It is Hey, here's the solution. There's Breeze, there's Allegiance,
there's Frontier.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
There we'll see if there'll ever ever will be a
ninety nine dollars are.
Speaker 1 (15:55):
Coming up next. Jody has another Hollywood Outsider trending now.
Speaker 3 (16:00):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
One of the characters that Reese Witherspoon made famous is
Elle Woods from legally Blonde, which, by the way, to
rewind the clock for you, that was in two thousand
and one. This is a twenty five year old character
that was five years ago, right, I know it feels
that way. But you know about the spin off show,
the prequel series called Elle that you've been hearing about,
(16:24):
where it's Elle's origin story. Reese Witherspoon is involved in
the production and there's a trailer now so it's called
El Killing Very Blonde. There's another one on her roots. Ya,
that's a choice, right, you got this on this actress
(16:44):
Leximintree is her name, plays the young El. It's you know,
it's the prequel series and about her life before you
knew her in the movie. It debuts on Amazon Prime
July first. If you're a big fan of that movie,
go take a look at the trailer. It did nothing
for Sam, That's what I heard, like background.
Speaker 3 (17:02):
I love the original movie.
Speaker 2 (17:04):
But okay, moving on, speaking of original movies, Hocus Pocus
three is coming to tell you. The first movie was
in nineteen ninety three, and then there was a sequel
in twenty twenty two that went straight to streaming. I
know a lot of people were excited about it. So
guess what. Yeah, there's another one coming, Hocus Pocus three,
but it will get a theatrical release.
Speaker 3 (17:26):
By the way, it's seven fifty three things to note today.
Have you ever been faced with a food recall for
something that you actually have in the pantry?
Speaker 2 (17:37):
No?
Speaker 1 (17:37):
No, I've checked a few times. Of course, when the
whole big spinach thing was going on. At one point
I checked the lot number on that and it was
all right, that.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
Spinach though, you know you remember that, You're like, just
don't even buy it.
Speaker 3 (17:49):
Yeah, well I didn't have to worry. That's spinach recalls.
I've gotten hit with two in the past week, and
it's for foods that I have got an email. Believe
it or not. I'm a member of Walmart Plus. Yes,
so they like keep track of everything that you buy. Obviously.
I got a Walmart that's like, hey, you bought this
(18:10):
great value pizza that thin crossed chicken bacon. Yeah, I've
never tried it before. It's like, hey, let me try that.
I only bought it like two weeks ago. And I
get an email that says this might be contaminated with salmonella.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
Yeah, did you get rid of it?
Speaker 3 (18:26):
Yeah? The options you have are bring it back for
a refund five bucks, or toss it. So I tossed it,
and I was like, wow, that's the first time I've
ever gotten hit with one of those.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
Then I'm almost surprised you didn't bring it back for
the refund.
Speaker 3 (18:38):
But okay, oh, cheap is the word. I think.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
I'm just surprised.
Speaker 3 (18:44):
Then a lot within the same week and I read
this one. This one wasn't an email sent to me
that UT's chips. They've got two brands that are being recalled,
some Zaps Chips and some dirty chips. Dirty is the
brandy and it's because of salmonella poisoning, possible salmonella poisoning.
So I dug into this. There's a supplier in California,
(19:07):
California Dairies. They're like a third party supplier that supply
milk powder to all kinds of foods. Yeah, and it's
that same factory that has the contamination problem supply the pizzas,
because these are Walmart pizzas and all the pizzas, these
are the huts Chips and the dirty chips.
Speaker 2 (19:25):
So you had to throw away the chips too.
Speaker 3 (19:26):
Yeah, And I had just opened the bag and eaten
like I'd had some a couple of days earlier. No,
I mean, believe it or not, Murphy, I almost went, well,
nothing's happened in a few days. Why not keep going? No,
I threw them away too good.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
You should have thrown them away. Murphy would have been
imagining that he was correct. Coming up next, Three things
to know today. Here's three things to know today. Number One,
the presidential physical fitness test for kids is back. He
was phased out in twenty thirteen in favor of a
(20:03):
less competitive health approach, but it's coming back. You remember
the old chin ups. Anyway, Look, it's going to be
mandatory for schools on US military basis, and then officials
are encouraging public schools nationwide to follow suit. It's a
different sort of test, but still physical. Number two, the
(20:24):
CEO of Chipotle says, if you want bigger portions, just ask.
They've had all these long running complaints that you know,
everybody's downsizing the portions of your brito bowl and it's
making you look, making you feel sad. And this exploded
online last year, like they're giving you less. He swears,
they're not giving you less, and if you want more,
(20:45):
you know, chicken in your bowl or sauce. Just ask
for a bigger no, just ask. And number three Mother's
Day is coming. What do most moms want? The number
one answer among thousands of my surveyed free time, the
ability to drop everything and do nothing is the number
(21:06):
one request. The second request being quality time with family. Yeah,
figure that out this weekend for mom. You're in the
note Three things to know today, Sam Scott Music News.
Speaker 3 (21:20):
Much anticipated Billie Eilish Eilish three D concert film is
out tomorrow. Hit me Hard, Hit me soff the movie.
This is going to blow people's minds.
Speaker 2 (21:29):
So James Cameron.
Speaker 3 (21:32):
That was James Cameron. There by the way he said
he developed they delayed the release of this because or
when they were shooting it. He developed some new three
D tiny three D cameras that they can use on
stage to give you instead of sitting in the audience
and looking me up. It's the stage view of what
you're seeing from inside and outside.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
You know, I want that on football players. So let's
talk about in this sport.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
Dome helmets I wanted, but that would be nice.
Speaker 2 (21:56):
Hey, James, what you do a sports documentary?
Speaker 3 (21:59):
Anyway? Billy's doing some interviews right now because of the
movie coming out, and she sat down with Amy Poehler
on her podcast and started talking about her turettes. I
didn't know she had tourettes, did you No? Yeah, she
says she actively suppresses it during interviews. She says it's
mainly vocal tics that she's able to control, but she
has to concentrate to control it. Like she says during
(22:20):
an interview, she'll sit there and hold her on.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
That's why media day is hard for her. I had
read that once before. I just thought it was anxiety
or social anxiety.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
Yeah, I didn't do that.
Speaker 3 (22:29):
Vocal tics, So look for that. I guess it'll be
coming out tonight. Actually there'll be showing to That's.
Speaker 2 (22:33):
A very human thing to admit. It can happen to anyone.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
New Casey Musgraves album out. It's called The Middle of
Nowhere and then the highlight is an unexpected duet with
her and Miranda Lambert. See. This goes back like thirteen years.
She and Miranda have had apparently some bad blood between them,
and it goes back to the song Mama's Broken Heart.
Whys Casey was one of the writers of that song
(23:00):
and she had looked at it as this is gonna
be my breakout song. Everybody's gonna know me after I
cut this song.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
And she's right, they wouldn't.
Speaker 3 (23:08):
The other writers like yeah, but Miranda wants it. Miranda
is a star. Let's give it to marent so they can.
So they gave it to Miranda, and so there's supposedly
been this little ever since. But Casey and doing her
new album, said one day she saw Miranda on Instagram
and she was riding a horse and she says, well,
that's two things we have in common, horses and divorces.
(23:29):
Hey song title, so horses and divorces. And she got
Miranda involved. And so now there's a duet black horses
and divorces and we both like to drink. Wait wait,
wait here we go.
Speaker 2 (23:44):
Like then we think that is nice.
Speaker 3 (23:47):
And we have confirmation now that the Rolling Stones are
putting out a new album. It's coming out July the tenth.
Micking the Gang confirmed it and they even dropped a
new song on us in the stars Stop look for
It's coming out July the tenth.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
Coming up, Jody has another Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 2 (24:07):
Next, Teacher Appreciation Week continues come to you next, Jen,
bring your nurse stories and your teacher appreciations stories as
we celebrate these very important people in our lives, these
servants in our lives. Eight seven seven three one zero
four MSJ.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
What's your shout out? Jen?
Speaker 4 (24:27):
I had a teacher in high school that was absolutely phenomenal.
He was there for me and my brothers in you
know ways that I just I can't thank him enough.
We had a very rough childhood and we could call
him anytime, day or night, and if we were in
(24:50):
a that situation, he would get us help. And unfortunately
he passed away from a tragic accident several years ago.
But to tie in with that, his wife was also
a huge factor in being there for us because we
could call his home and his wife would answer and
(25:13):
she's been a nurse for twenty plus years.
Speaker 2 (25:15):
Oh my goodness, this week business right, teachers and nurses?
Speaker 4 (25:20):
Yes, yes, just the two of them together. I mean,
our little town puts on a five k run in
his name to honor him every year. And I just
wanted to share with.
Speaker 2 (25:32):
You guys, well you know, he could just sense that
and he knew it. What a gift to you to
show you that an adult can be there like in
those ways. But if he did it for your family,
he probably did it for countless kids.
Speaker 4 (25:45):
Oh she did. All All the kids had his home
phone number. It didn't matter if we had a problem
with homework or if we had a problem in our
home life, we could call him and he was always there.
I mean, I don't want to go into a whole
lot of detail, but there were several nights that my
mom had had suicide attempts and he would come up
(26:07):
to the hospital and sit with us. He was just
phenomenal in so many.
Speaker 2 (26:12):
Weights, above and beyond, above and beyond.
Speaker 4 (26:15):
Very very much so. He was very very much loved
throughout our entire school district.
Speaker 2 (26:20):
Well, thank you for sharing. This is unforgettable, Jen, So
thank you for sharing.
Speaker 3 (26:24):
Them the beautiful story.
Speaker 1 (26:26):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (26:27):
Eight seven seven three one zero four M S. J.
To get yours in coming up next, your Hollywood Outsider,
the latest Buzz Jody's Hollywood Outsider. The last time that
Christopher Nolan director Christopher Nolan gave the world a movie,
it was Oppenheimer and it, you know, got like thirteen
(26:47):
Academy Award nominations. He doesn't go small.
Speaker 3 (26:51):
No, everything he does is either cutting edge or just epic.
Amazing to look at.
Speaker 2 (26:56):
That's the word. That's the word that comes to mind
as epic. So we have the final trailer for his
new movie, The Odyssey, and it's epic.
Speaker 4 (27:04):
My dad is coming home.
Speaker 2 (27:07):
And I see with that is Matt Damon as Odysseus
along let me let me give you these names along
with Anne Hathaway. Every face you see in this you know,
Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson. He doesn't seem like a nice guy.
Here Zendeia, Charlie's Snaaron. It's called the Odyssey. You know that.
(27:32):
Maybe you know the story, maybe you don't.
Speaker 3 (27:34):
Oh yeah, he's it's an odyssey. He's trying to get home.
Speaker 2 (27:37):
Right. It's gonna drop in theaters. Our debut in theaters
in July, July seventeenth. And by the way, I double checked,
the movie is just under three hours.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
He shot it all in Imax too, of course he did.
When I saw I saw this trailer yesterday, it reminded
me of these ai fake ones you see.
Speaker 2 (27:54):
Because of all the business looks so great. It's like,
oh oh look look it doesn't look fake. Definitely worth
a watch. Go check the trailer. The Odyssey.
Speaker 3 (28:05):
Lately, we've seemed to have a number of concert tours,
big concert tours that have either been canceled or postponed
different dates. I mean post Malone of course, being the
biggest one.
Speaker 2 (28:15):
Postpone Malone.
Speaker 3 (28:15):
You mean Postpone Malone. Yeah. The Pussycat Dolls canceled their
whole tour for ticket sales, Megan trainer Zane Mallick from
one direction, he canceled his tour.
Speaker 1 (28:25):
Fad a lot of It's a challenging time, you know,
I mean, with airfare costing more, if people are going
to be traveling long distances fuel all that.
Speaker 3 (28:31):
And I am glad you said that, Murphy, because that's
where this is leading into. It's something a new term
that's popped up called blue dot fever. Have you heard it. No,
fans are calling it blue dot fever. It's and they're
saying these people are canceling the tours and giving other reasons,
when in real reason is tickets are not selling. Because
what's the blue dots saturated? I'm gonna show you that
(28:52):
saturated concert. I mean, we got a lot of concerts
choose from high prices, the traveling, Like you said, Murphy,
E the blue dot is if you've ever pulled up
tickets to look at what seats are available?
Speaker 2 (29:02):
Oh right, the dots.
Speaker 3 (29:04):
That are available are the blue dots. Yes, And so
like these artists are pulling it up and it's like,
whoats blue dot fever. Let's postpone or cancel or with
y whatever.
Speaker 2 (29:15):
There's this decision for them as well. It costs them
a lot of money to tour, and so it has
to sell. It's it's a delicate thing that has to
work for it to happen. You can't show up and
only half half the crowd there or less than half
the crowd. Yeah, it doesn't you know, it doesn't work
for them as a business model either.
Speaker 3 (29:34):
I know Live Nation is doing that thirty dollars deal
for some concerts for some artists this this summer. But
it's like they found the average concert ticket price and
that's just the ticket one hundred and forty four dollars
and consumer and travel and all that.
Speaker 2 (29:49):
It's very expensive. If you're going to see a couple
of shows a year, think about what a chunk of
your budget that is. It's the it's the getting there,
it's the parking, it's the ticket it's the night, it's dinner,
all of that thing, all of that. Don't even get
me started on merch.
Speaker 3 (30:05):
Oh well yeah, I mean you got to have at
least fifty bucks to start on merch. So blue dot
fever yeah, okay, if you hear that, that's what it means.
