Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Murphy Salmon Choti Weekend Show podcast, highlighting
some of our favorite moments from this past week.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
I'm excited to hear that you have a new hobby, Sam.
I mean, hobbies are an important part of life.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (00:14):
Well, hobby is the word I use for it. It's
just a new thing that I got into while we
had some time off. Yes, and it's an herb garden.

Speaker 5 (00:24):
Oh yay.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
So is this a legitimate herb garden or is this
like it is just asking because there are some people
that say they've got herb gardens and it's got a little.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
More than just tell me Rosemary, Yeah, Rosemary, is there basil?

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Basil? Everybody can grow basil, right.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
Okay, go ahead, start listing them off.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
I want to hear about it.

Speaker 4 (00:47):
I have this big, like metal tub, and I've been
wanting to have an herb garden, and I think it's
pizza driven for the basil okay. Before and it's like, well, yeah,
you got time right now, you're off on vacation and
I have this big metal tub, you know, like you
can put drinks in for a party and stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
I was like, why don't I just use that?

Speaker 4 (01:05):
I already have it, I don't have to buy anything nice.
So I drilled some holes in the bottom. I went
to Walmart and I found one of these rolling plant stands.
Oh yeah, So you put the thing on the air,
filled it up. Rocks in the bottom too, give it,
you know, breathing room, right dirt. And I just went
and bought a bunch of herbs, basil. I bought two
kinds of oregano Italian and Greek, parsley and rosemary.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
So dumb question.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
You buy these as seeds or as seed leans, or
they already grow these You go to Walmart and they
sell them in the plant section, the garden section, home.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
Depot or any of those.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
So they're already growing a little four inch pots.

Speaker 4 (01:39):
Oh cool, okay, And you space them out probably about
three feet across this ten and so I put five
different things in there.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
I love that you're doing this.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
And it's been about I haven't eaten any of them
yet because I'm letting them grow and get bushy.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
And you know, read and fresh rosemary is to die for.
I think it just improves anything you put it in
bread and bake it could.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
Yeah, And I've been reading up on you know this.
You got to peel up, take it out a few days,
and the fans let it dry out to use. Okay,
the basil. You know you can just rip the leaves
off and throw them on a pizza and eat them
that way.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
Yes, it's a little much for me. I don't know
if I want to eat a leaf.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
So it is a pretty like low maintenance right now. Yeah,
I don't know if it's gonna get worse. My main
thing is watering. That was what I was afraid of
because I've had plants before and after about a week
they die because oh yeah, I forgot to water it.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
And are they growing insider outs outside?

Speaker 4 (02:30):
I have them in a little shaded area so they
don't burn in the water them every day and they're
growing like weeds every day.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Herbs.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Yay, you're going on a road trip. How important are
the snacks?

Speaker 3 (02:46):
They're pretty they're pretty important.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
But you're gonna be a little surprised to think, get
my take on the road trip snacks?

Speaker 5 (02:52):
Oh, I bring it the convenience store, right.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
Yeah, I mean, because I've never really shared a little
bit of a I have a moment. I'm glad you
bring snacks. But every time you say that I'm like,
but we're still gonna stop and get the.

Speaker 5 (03:05):
Right forgive me.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
I brought snacks on our road trip, and Murphy's like,
no thanks, I'll get my own. Which that's part of
the fun for everybody to leave the car, go in
somewhere and get your own thing that's personalized.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
It's a travel thing for me.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
If I don't do it all the time Monday through Friday,
why not do it when I'm on the road. Not
that I haven't done it Monday through Friday. Sometimes how
many times have.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
I gotten into the passenger seat of Murphy's car and
there's like an empty bag of something.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
Just a convenience to kind of a freak every now
and then?

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Are you know?

Speaker 5 (03:37):
You are? So?

Speaker 2 (03:37):
The number one road snacks in America for families, Chips
comes in number one, something salty chips in a bag,
cookies or next like cookies and cakes, something sweet, and
then the third choice being candy, just legit candy. You
know what I packed this? You did a road trip
and I want to hear about it, Sam, which you brought?
You know what I packed this time?

Speaker 3 (03:56):
You know? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (03:57):
You brought it was delicious jerky from Costco be jerk.
You brought the popcorn that we like.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Yeah, that's it, corn and beef jerky, and.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Those were both good, and I did I ate those two. Yeah,
But once we hit a hit up BUCkies and some
of the other places.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
It's different about me this time. Is I ate those
an hour out like we hit We were only in
the car an hour and I was like getting it.

Speaker 5 (04:17):
Oh, yeah, that's new for me.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
Okay, So I agree with Murphy. I don't bring snacks
on the road. I stopped for snacks because something will
grab me. It's like, oh, we don't have one of
those back home. I'm in here and see what they're selling. Yeah,
there and convenience stores are also the first place they
dropped some of those snack bags of chips with different flavors.
But we can't find anywhere else.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
That's smart food. Dude, you just not tempted. Maybe it's
the mom and me. We you know, I'm a prepared traveler. Yeah,
we got everything. It's probably the mom.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
I bet you that's exactly what that is, because we
always had plenty of snacks when the girls were riding
with us.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
Yeah, and when we were kids, my mother called them chippies.
She had a giant bag that sat in the back.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
Seat full of chippies.

Speaker 4 (04:59):
Oh really, thing from the pantry went in this bag
and we took it with us on the road.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
Did you eat it as soon as you left me?

Speaker 3 (05:04):
Now, I was like, I don't have room to move, mom.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Oh so that started early.

Speaker 5 (05:09):
Yeah, yeah, all right.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
Let us know about your favorite road trip snacks. We
mean it. Eight seven seven three one zero four MSJ
Join us anytime eight seven seven three one zero four
MSJA love hearing from you, and we're still catching up
on voice memos that you left while we were out.

Speaker 5 (05:28):
Never miss a call.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Murphy, Salm and Jody twenty four hour voicemail.

Speaker 6 (05:34):
Hey Murphy, Sam and Jody. My name is Cam. I'm
from Wisconsin and I just wanted to let you know
I've really missed you guys this week. Really missed my
three things to Know. Listen to you guys every morning
all day. Actually, I even leave my radio plan in
the house with you guys on so my dog isn't
get lonely the network. I know I'm crazy, but you

(05:57):
guys are such a joy in the morning, and I
can't wait for you to get back. I hope to
hear from you guys next week, and I'm so excited
to learn my three things to know. I'm day. I
have a good time, and I hope you enjoyed your vacation,
although for me you were very well meant.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
Oh that is so sweet, Kim. Thank you. That's a
wonderful voicemail to come back to.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
Yeah, officially back for you. So than for having us along,
we have other messages. Let's get a couple more.

Speaker 7 (06:27):
Yes, Jody, the truckers still communicate by Cebee radio, but
they also use their phones too. I was married to
a truck driver for twenty seven years and widows from
me for seven but I still know how to talk
to the truck drivers and I do it quite regularly.
So yes, truck drivers do talk with the radio. And

(06:51):
they are extremely healthful. No matter what anybody says. They're
safe drivers and they pay attention to the road and
we can live without them. So have a very good day.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
Thank you for that voicemail.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
Yes, agreed, and shout out for I was just.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
Hoping that I was going to be able to, you know,
to talk to a few of them. Oh yeah, that
was the one thing I can tell you. That's what
I noticed, and it's really weird to watch, you know,
people zoom in cars around truckers not remembering. Okay, physics,
the laws of physics don't work in your favor if
you're going to pull in front of a truck and
slow down really fast and zipping, you know. And they
are trained at what they do, and they're very very

(07:29):
good at what they do.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
Yeah, and they're handling something that many of us could.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
Not hand couldn't drive, right.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
I know you guys dream of doing it. Sam does
one day secretly wants to be Murphy.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
If ever do get in a truck cab, I'll get
get the CB working.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
Okay, and we can talk to each other.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
Good for you guys. While on vacation, Sam had a
date with a legend. So let's hear it.

Speaker 4 (07:51):
Willie Nelson and some other people too. It was it
was Willy's Outlaw concert tour this summer. See I got
the chart this year, love it okay, And he performed
this year. Yes, he actually performed this show. And you're
gonna be amazed at how good he sound. To actually
recorded some of it so we can share it. Open
the show with the same thing he opens every show
with Whiskey River.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
I sound like Willy and and the thing is, it's
like all the stuff I'd heard in the past year.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
It's like he speaks and.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
He's slow, and he sang him differently. It's still Willie's voice,
it's still singing, but he was kind of like he
could tell he was trying to catch his breath a
few times.

Speaker 5 (08:33):
Yeah, well that's okay.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
And he had a big sing along with Mama's Don't
Let Your Babies.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
Yeah, it was I was so surprised that Willy was
so good strong.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
Yeah, unbelieve nobody gets to do what they love this.

Speaker 4 (09:00):
Long and his longtime guitar player, his son is now
the one that sits on stage with Willy. So he'd
let the son, whose name happens to be Whalen Uh
sing a couple of songs to give him a break.
So but they sat the whole time, and he sounded
like Willy. He was He was more playful with the
crowd than I've ever seen Willy before.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
That was cool.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
Willy usually just boom boom. Yeah, that was now the problem.
At the tour, we had the Avid Brothers, the Mavericks, Willie,
we had Dylan again. Yeah, Dylan this, I want you
to pick out a word. Just tell me a lyric
here anything yet, No, it's.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
Like Dylan impersonating Dylan is what it sounds like.

Speaker 5 (09:39):
Huh, unreal.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
Try try this one too. It's a different did Gane.
The Mavericks and David Brothers were like, this is awesome?

Speaker 1 (09:54):
And then did you have to like google lyrics to
see what he was actually saying?

Speaker 3 (09:59):
He did sing all along the Watchtower. Okay. The only
reason I knew that is because I did.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
Okay, Well, so Glad from our Instagram and Facebook pages,
want to say a sincere thank you for all the
love that you poured in while we were away on
vacation about Edie, our old she was a lab mix.
Yeah right, rescue Edie. We had to say goodbye to

(10:28):
her at the very beginning of our vacation.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
It was it was you know, and of course we Sam,
you just dealt with that recently with us, you know
what I mean? And so yeah, so Edie started acting
a little bit strange a couple of days before. Sometimes
weather's always been, you know, the catalyst for that, but
this time she just wasn't. You could tell she wasn't
getting comfortable and we knew that we had a follow
up appointment for her that we were going to bring
her to, but we wound up having to do the

(10:51):
day before, and when they took x rays, whatever the
tumor that she had had expanded into her abdominal cavity
and it was just and her lungs and her lungs
and it was not a good situation. Uncomfortable nearly she
was uncomfortable.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
So, yeah, Debbie sent this. My heart skipped a beat
when I read this. Truly, saying goodbye is the hardest
part of having our pets, but they are such a
blessing while they're here thinking of you. Thank you for that, Debbie.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
Yeah, you know what's so weird about this is this
is a dog that I really didn't want to love
because she was she was a rescue, she was a
broken thing and just you know, was made mess all
over the.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
House, and she was she was awkward, she was difficult.

Speaker 3 (11:28):
Kind of high maintenance.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
But you know, but but that that sort of dependency
and the shyness that she had became really endearing to me.
She really depended on me to kind of be her alpha.
And so the last couple of years I didn't really
realize how much, you know, I loved her, and so
being there, that's when it all just kind of poured out. Actually,
it was so embarrassing, Sam. When I did start to
tear up, and because I was crying, I don't know

(11:51):
what was up with my sinuses, I wound up with
a nosebleed. Right, So the ve's I'm like, like, I'm
very sorry about this.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
I never had this reaction. The focus is on I
will say this too.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
It was like a Tuesday afternoon and we were at
the VET and we decided to make We made the decision,
you know, we didn't want her to continue to be
so uncomfortable. Taylor and Phoebe stopped by and came and
they gave.

Speaker 3 (12:13):
Us our daughter a lot of time.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
Both girls were able to stop, and so we the
four of us were sitting around her, loving on her,
and so it was actually very peaceful and very beautiful.
But our girls got to say goodbye to Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
And you know what the VET does there though that
it's really fun because you know, chocolate is toxic to dogs.
But at that moment, so she got to enjoy here
first Hershey's kisses. Right before we really appreciate all your
love on this. Thank you so much for reaching out
to us on Facebook and Instagram.

Speaker 7 (12:46):
One of the.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
Coolest things that can happen for a child in life
is for them to have a toy that they actually
identify with that they feel like, oh, this is me,
or I can see myself in this, or it just
matches me. It doesn't always happen now compared to when
we were growing up. There's a million more toys, and
that's great. Although I love the classics, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
The classics are great, but you're right, the classics didn't
always represent everyone.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
Of course, not right.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
But Mattel has made a new Barbie Murphy.

Speaker 3 (13:13):
I want you to know.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
I'm not gonna buy you this Barbie. I do love Barbie,
a type one diabetes Barbie. Oh really, they've made the
first version of her with a pink glucose monitor and
an insulin pump.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
Wow, that's really cool. That must be a really tiny
insulin pump. Yeah, it probably is, like a choking hazard.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
There are a lot of chips.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
Should come with all the phrases Murphy comes with.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
No, Barbie doesn't speak that way.

Speaker 5 (13:38):
But for anybody who doesn't know Murphy wortter how much
your insulin.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
Murphy is a type one diabetic and so you aren't
an insulin pump as well. Yeah, little girls and boys
who are diagnosed as children who have a pump, this
is something that would help them.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
Yeah, see them pact.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
Look, I love that idea, you know, because there are
some kids who will develop Type one at like ages
two and three, you know, and some are like teenagers,
and then some people even into their twenties. Doesn't mean
you can't have a Barbie if you want to in
your twenties.

Speaker 3 (14:09):
But you know, they.

Speaker 2 (14:10):
Worked with organizations, the diabetes organizations to make sure all
the gear is legit and it looks legit. So anyway,
I just wanted to say that it's out there. There's
an estimated one million kids and grown ups with type one.

Speaker 1 (14:22):
Yeah, I want to look at that. And c So
is she wearing a medtronic pomp or a tandem tea
slim like me?

Speaker 4 (14:27):
Or is she she's on the phone with the pharmacy right,
I'm telling you I need my insol at dex COMG six.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
You say, does she leave.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
Home for vacation and forget her insult to go back
like we did?

Speaker 3 (14:39):
Or does her wife put it in the freezer?

Speaker 1 (14:41):
That's really that would be a game of great troop.
Pretend they're getting into the Barbie car driving a block
and going, oh.

Speaker 5 (14:46):
I forgot myla.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
Does she also have low blood sugars and hit the
kitchen hard in the middle of the night she might,
or like, you know, cereal and soda pop.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
You know what, that's true.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
She should come with a little, you know, basket of
you know, tablets and stuff like that.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
Yeah, okay, anyway, shout out to Mattel for making the
first ever. There may be more to come. Type one
diabetic Barbie.

Speaker 7 (15:12):
Texter call us eight seven seven three one zero four M.

Speaker 6 (15:16):
S J.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
Truly the best parts of the show. When we hear
from you about all these crazy little things in life
that we share. We want to hear your perspective. Christina
sent this to Murphy Samon Jody dot com. It's an email, Hi, Jody,
heard you guys talking about your senior pup Champ. I've
never thought of him as a senior, but he is, Yeah,
waking you up during the night with his snoring, Murphy.

(15:39):
He sleeps near me on my on the floor near me.
Can you hear it. We have a king size bet.
Can you hear him storing?

Speaker 1 (15:45):
Yeah, it depends. Sometimes it gets pretty loud.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
He's been waking me up with the snoring, although I
don't mind. Christina goes on to say, I have a
twelve and a half year old senior pity named Bonnie.
Often often falls us into those d sleeps with the snoring,
the leg movement, all the things that constantly woke me up.
I also didn't have the heart to wake her up

(16:08):
from those deep slumbers. About a year ago, I purchased
Loop Quiet earbuds earplugs rather Loop Quiet earplugs. They're online
and they've been a game changer. The ear plugs are
comfortable and filter out most noises but still allow you
to hear. I've been able to sleep soundly through the
night despite her snoring, body movement, nest building with her blankets,

(16:31):
and ear flapping when she changes positions. Yeah hope this helps.
Give all the love to your pup. Complete dog lover here.
Love the show too.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
Thank you, Christina. You know that's true. Champ does that
same thing, the head flopping, the you know, the rearranging
of the bed.

Speaker 2 (16:47):
Yeah, yeah, they all do it right, yeah, you're chasing rabbits.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
So these are like little noise cancelation earbuds that she's wearing.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
Earplugs, she called them. But she can still hear, like
important things in the room. But it's it softens that
sort of noise. Okay, we have only two dogs now
that Edie passed away, we had to, you know, let
go of her over the vacation. But so we have
Champ who sleeps in his special bed next to me,
and then our little Sparky. No, no, no, no. Sparky

(17:17):
is a little dog. He loves to get under the
bed and that's where he sleeps. Now. He has an
issue too, he may he starts clawing.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
Yeah, I don't know what that's all about.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
The night and we just go Sparky, yeah, under the bed.

Speaker 1 (17:28):
And every now and then he acts like a grandpa too.

Speaker 2 (17:30):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (17:33):
That wakes me up.

Speaker 5 (17:34):
I look this pet ownership.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
You know, you get all the love, but you also
get some side effects when I wouldn't trade them for anything, though,
But Christina, thank you for this. Send us anything anytime.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
Is anybody ever had to deal with a depressed cat?

Speaker 1 (17:49):
I'm not a Yeah, I didn't think cats cared enough
to be depressed, but they've got confidence for days.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
Of course, they can feel things, they just don't let
you in on it, making them actually pretty cool.

Speaker 5 (18:02):
They're independent.

Speaker 4 (18:03):
A Boo my cat, who isn't really a cat. He's
never been a cat. He just doesn't know how to
be one. Since Gus passed my dog, a Boo has
just been different.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
Yes, because he was a part of a pack.

Speaker 4 (18:18):
He used to sleep in bed with me every night,
to get up there right when we go to bed.
Now there's nights I don't ever see him.

Speaker 5 (18:23):
I don't know where he's.

Speaker 3 (18:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (18:26):
And then there's a rug near the front door that
Gus used to like to lay on. Every time I
turn around, A Boo is laying on it, and I
don't know if, I don't know how to describe this,
but he's laying on it in a posture that looks like, yeah,
I've given up. It's some so sad.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
Cats and dogs can feel happiness. Therefore they can also
feel sadness.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
Are you sure it's not that he's laying there because
he's claimed it as his, like finally, this is mine.

Speaker 4 (18:53):
I knew i'd hear this humanizing stuff, and I don't
want to humanize him.

Speaker 5 (18:58):
But he's acting.

Speaker 3 (19:00):
He does look sad.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
There's a living thing. Of course, he can feel sadness.
It's not the same as the way we feel it.
Probably well, or.

Speaker 1 (19:07):
Maybe they're just you know, lost. I'm not saying they
can't feel sadness, but you know when there's a pattern change, yes,
which is and yeah, And all they do is live
in the present. If the present's different than it used
to be, they're going to be different.

Speaker 3 (19:19):
He started. He's been doing this reach out thing to
me a lot too.

Speaker 2 (19:24):
He had that with Gus, probably.

Speaker 4 (19:26):
One thing he has never done in his life. And
he did this while we run vacation. He's not sitting
up on the sofa cushions. I'm laying on the sofa.
He crawled down on me and laid on my chest.
He really and it's like this cat is never when
I try to put him on my chest, he runs.

Speaker 3 (19:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (19:42):
He crawled down on my chest and laid his head
down and laid there. And I was like, oh my god,
you really are sad.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
It sounds like he was bonded with Sorry, this is
the this is the summation. He sounds like he was
bonded with Gus. That was his person, and now he
doesn't have a person, so he's testing the waters with
you being his person.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
It ain't gonna work that.

Speaker 2 (20:01):
Why not give him the love he needs. He's your pet.
You might need it too.

Speaker 7 (20:06):
You know.

Speaker 4 (20:07):
I'm dog sitting Django right now for Sammy Good for years.
A couple of days Jango has been there.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
He's better.

Speaker 3 (20:15):
Was like, Hey, somebody I can rub up on.

Speaker 2 (20:17):
Oh okay, he'll respond to him. I'm like his owner.

Speaker 3 (20:21):
It sounds.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
If you happen upon a restaurant and you're really hungry
and they say it's a forty five minute wait, take
a peek at the bar. It's a trick Murphy, and
I've used it. You want to sit at the bar?

Speaker 5 (20:35):
Sure I do.

Speaker 1 (20:36):
Sometimes sometimes the hosting station will even tell you, hey,
check out.

Speaker 2 (20:39):
The sit at the bar. And you know, if there
happened to be too, however, you're in your party seats ready,
you can sit down and be eating in ten minutes.
So it's one of those tricks in life. And I
got to experience. I had a really cute lesson at
the bar when I was on my girl's weekend with
my friend June. Our friend June, we covered a lot
of that and how how wonderful it is to be

(21:01):
with girlfriends. You know, in our after the show podcast yesterday,
shout out to friendships and how influential they are. Well,
So we had decided to go to eat this really
fantastic hoppin' Saturday night Mexican restaurant on a Saturday evening,
and we walk in and sure enough, it's like a
forty five minute wait, and she was like, do you
want to sit at the bar? And I said, I'm game,

(21:23):
let's do it. And so we walked right in and
sat right down at the bar, and I'm telling you,
this place was hoppin' and fun, and we started talking
to a couple to the left of us, a young
couple married, beautiful stories. We started ordering food, and we
each ordered a margarita, and it was my turn to pay. Murphy,
I told you this story already, but at the end

(21:45):
of the night, the drinks weren't on the ticket.

Speaker 3 (21:48):
Hey for a lucky night.

Speaker 2 (21:51):
The girl who was sitting to the left of us,
her name is Shelby. She happened to be there because
she's the rep for the tequila company that the bar
was serving. Us well, and she wink wink, said let's
get these ladies drinks. So we were drinking sangreea swirl
Margarita's with our food, and they were delicious and all that.

(22:13):
But so number one, remember to sit at the bar.
You also meet the nicest, coolest people. I have Shelby's
number now, Oh really, Yeah, she's fantastic.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
Do you get the number of everybody you shave at
the bar with?

Speaker 2 (22:26):
No, she's traveling here in the next year and we
might she might come visit.

Speaker 3 (22:30):
Remember to sit by the alcohol rep.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
No, no, not, we didn't know that. But the other thing,
I was telling her how much I really like tequila,
because it's natural. If you're gonna put something like that
in your body, it might as well be something natural, right,
And she said, here's a test to tell if it's
really good tequila or not. Put a little bit in
your hand and rub it and rub it. If it
feels really warm, it's good tequila with all pure ingredients.

(22:55):
If it starts to get sticky, it has additives. That
now you do, and why because you sat at the bar.

Speaker 7 (23:05):
If it's new and you can eat it, Sam's found it.

Speaker 3 (23:09):
Here's the food dude.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
Brought to you by International Animal Rescue.

Speaker 4 (23:12):
You know, a Little Debbie and her minions have been
busy in the past year or so giving us all
kinds of different treats and variations on the snack cakes
and have the ice cream.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
You know, I didn't know what you were talking about.

Speaker 4 (23:23):
You know, the nutty bodies, which are usually the bars.
We now have the ones that look like Twinkies, the
Twinkie shape. Have not tried those yet. Yeah, so we
got all that stuff. Well, hold onto the steering wheel
and hold on to yourself here, because this one's going
to blow you away. Coming out this Christmas. We're going
to have Christmas tree Cake Little Debbie Christmas tree Cake
coffee creamer.

Speaker 2 (23:43):
Oh wow, and you can have it with a Christmas
tree cake.

Speaker 3 (23:48):
On Christmas tree cake in it. That sounds good.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
What's going to happen. It's going to land in the
stores and it's going to disappear because if I see it,
I'm gonna buy.

Speaker 3 (23:56):
Two of them.

Speaker 1 (23:56):
My question is will it leave the little grease ring
on your lips? I don't know the size and it
used to be right, I mean, I love them, but
you always know when you've eaten one of those. Right,
moving on to Stranger Things as we wait for season
five to come. We have the trailer now, uh you
remember back, remember back a couple of seasons ago, they

(24:19):
had the pizzas I surre for Boy Pizza.

Speaker 2 (24:21):
I remember they sold them at Walmart. I never had it.

Speaker 3 (24:23):
They were actually good.

Speaker 4 (24:24):
They were actually good. There's a company called Palermo that
makes pizzas. You might find in the freezer section. They're
the ones who are making the Stranger Things pizzas well.
We got four new ones coming out for season five.
We have the Palace Arcade Pepperoni, the Hawkins High Cheese,
Star Court Mall Supreme, and the Hawkins Lab Combo Pizza Man.

Speaker 5 (24:43):
That's cool. Good for them.

Speaker 4 (24:45):
And if you can't wait for those to come right now,
check this out at Pizza Hut. This is only good
for two more tuesdays in this month. Two dollars personal
pan pizzas every Tuesday. Every Tuesday the rest of this month,
next week in the following week pizza. You can go
in there and buy oh really, yeah, one topping. These
are usually like eight bucks, so you get them for
two bucks. They do have a lot though, you can

(25:06):
only get six.

Speaker 3 (25:07):
That's a lot, man boy.

Speaker 4 (25:12):
Six is a start and uncrustables get this one, pebe
Choco Craze. Uncrustables are coming peanut butter and the choco
part is chocolate flavored hazel nuts.

Speaker 1 (25:23):
Oh man, Yeah, that's a game changer.

Speaker 2 (25:27):
That's going to make back to school a okay with
the kids if you stick that in their lunch box.

Speaker 3 (25:31):
A couple of pan pizzas and a couple of these.

Speaker 2 (25:35):
Follow us on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube and read and
see every single message that rolls in. Let's get something.

Speaker 3 (25:42):
You got a.

Speaker 4 (25:42):
Question for you, Murphy and Jody from Joe Anne. Okay,
we got this caught question. I heard on the show
that your dog Edie passed away while you were on vacation. Yes,
and you please let us know what happened.

Speaker 2 (25:54):
Oh, we're actually home.

Speaker 3 (25:56):
We haven't talked about this yet.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
I did.

Speaker 2 (25:58):
Okay, we mentioned it once and then we shared it
in social media while we were we were away. She was
very sick, she was old, and she had an inoperable tumor,
and we learned that the tumor had grown. In fact,
we could see that it had grown within a couple
of days.

Speaker 1 (26:14):
That's what's really weird about it is we were going
we'd already had an appointment to go to it, you know,
a specialist to check it out, and she just started
acting odd the day before. Usually she gets nervous around thunderstorms,
but it was it was a clear day, and she
was just not getting comfortable anywhere.

Speaker 3 (26:29):
And so when we took her back yet it.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
Was getting stick all over the house too.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
So she just was not comfortable at all.

Speaker 2 (26:36):
And you know, Murphy is the one that took her
to the vat I was dealing with a flat tire.
That's another story. I blew out a tire by the way.

Speaker 3 (26:45):
Oh that's right. I forgot about that.

Speaker 5 (26:46):
My fault too.

Speaker 2 (26:49):
Anyway, it was not a good day.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
Yeah, do you want me to yes, please real quick.
I know Sam's dying to know. You can't just bring
that up without right now. I mean, but thank you
for asking about Edie before we go there, and we
appreciate that. And you know, she's in a better place now.
So Jodie with the tire thing, calls me and says,
I think I needed to come check this out. You know,

(27:12):
we need to see we can pump this back up,
and so I meet her at the gas station and
I walk up to it and I look and I said,
I can't pump this one.

Speaker 2 (27:22):
Up back right?

Speaker 3 (27:23):
She said why?

Speaker 1 (27:24):
And I said, so, I stuck my entire hand through
the hole because she had.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
Why is that so funny? Have you never done it?

Speaker 3 (27:32):
Well, it's a giant hole.

Speaker 4 (27:34):
How do you think I couldn't see it?

Speaker 3 (27:37):
Well?

Speaker 2 (27:37):
First of all, when I called him, it wasn't that flat.
I called him as soon as it happened. By the
time he arrived and we looked at it together, it
was almost completely all.

Speaker 3 (27:46):
I think it had to be instantly run over or hit.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
I hit a curb going into the gas station that
I did not even see. There was one curb that
I meant that I got around, and the second one
was right there. Came out where it seemed.

Speaker 1 (28:01):
And I did not make a big deal out of it,
because I am the king of curb clipping, So you know,
It's like, although I was amused that the big hole
in the tire was the thing that prevent us from
pumping it back.

Speaker 2 (28:11):
Away, it was not a good day in our family,
but God rustied his soul. Yes, Sam, did Murphy tell
you that he's trying to get out of going to
the doctor today.

Speaker 1 (28:22):
We're trying to make it more convenient for everybody. I'm
trying to make it convenient from the doctor, right, I'm
trying to make it convenient for myself and everybody because
it's nothing that's you know, that's major.

Speaker 2 (28:33):
Well it could be. Have you noticed his eye?

Speaker 3 (28:37):
I don't think you can tell.

Speaker 1 (28:38):
Does it look like can you see anything?

Speaker 3 (28:40):
It doesn't. It looks normal, doesn't it.

Speaker 2 (28:42):
He has conjunctivitis, that's what I think, you know, And
I think I've got pink eye.

Speaker 3 (28:48):
Wow, two things.

Speaker 2 (28:49):
I have told you this, but you know, I wake
up way before you so early this morning. First thing,
my eye was feeling strange and I was like, man.

Speaker 5 (28:57):
He gave that to me.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
And we tried to stay away from each other last
night because of this, which is just my moisturizer had
gotten into my e.

Speaker 3 (29:04):
Is that okay? Well that's good. Maybe that's what happened
to you America. Well, you know, there's two kinds.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
There's a viral, which is a contagious one, and then
there's another one that's not. So I have no idea
which it is. I just know that my eye is
itching like crazy. Yeah, and I don't, you know, and
I really didn't want to bring that into the room.
You know, well, yeah's being careful about you know, touching
things and that sort of thing. So anyway, everything what

(29:28):
I did this morning is I'm like, all right, well
let me I'll make the appointment, but in the interest
of saving everybody time, since I know what it is,
and I even googled this. By the way, doctors love
to hear that it's an easy you know, they know
what it is. They say it's even the Mayo Clinic
website says it's an easy self diagnosis.

Speaker 3 (29:44):
So I screenshot that. No, I'm kidding. I didn't screenshot
that and send it to him. I sent up.

Speaker 1 (29:49):
I took a picture of my eye, sent that to
him and said, hey, look, if this saves everybody time,
and I don't want to risk it spreading. You know
what I'm saying, because by the time you check in
and all that stuff, you know, an hour and a
half and all that goes by. There's no reason for that.
If it's just drops at the pharmacy, you know, it
drops or.

Speaker 4 (30:06):
I look at him, Jody, Now maybe it's because you
put it in my head. His eye does look a
little Oh well, I'm.

Speaker 1 (30:10):
Blinking a lot and it's itching me like crazy and
does not feel great.

Speaker 2 (30:14):
There's something wrong with it. If I were a doctor,
unless I had seen a hundred cases of this in
one week, I would have you come in well at.

Speaker 1 (30:24):
This rate, I haven't had a text message yet, so
it looks like that's exactly you know what's probably going
to happen.

Speaker 3 (30:29):
And you know they haven't responded to your picture. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:31):
You know what I didn't tell him is that I
couldn't open my eyes this morning. And that's not because
I was sleepy. It's because of the you know whatever

Speaker 2 (30:39):
You need to go in right, Welcome to it.
