Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Murphy Salmon Jody Daily Show podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Murphy, I want you to brace yourself.

Speaker 3 (00:06):
Sam has told me, and he's ready to tell everybody
that he is ready. He's ready for something that's filling
my heart with joy. I was waiting for you to
say this another girlfriend.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
I knew it.

Speaker 4 (00:16):
I knew it.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
No, uh no, it's another pet. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (00:22):
Really, I don't have a dog. I haven't picked a
dog out. Okay. Just so for anybody who doesn't remember
I had Gus for like thirteen years, you did. He
passed away last year last June.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
So it's been a long time.

Speaker 4 (00:35):
Yeah, it has. My mom, Miss Judy, usually whenever I
talked to her, it's like, get a dog yet.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
You give a dog a dog yet?

Speaker 4 (00:44):
Why are you waiting, Sammy? You need a dog? And
I needed a breathere. I needed to let Gus go.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Sure.

Speaker 4 (00:53):
And I've been now looking, you know, because a lot
of the rescues put stuff on Facebook. So I've been
back of those lately, like okay, and because it hit
me it's like, okay, if you're looking at dogs again.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
You must be ready.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
You must be ready. Yeah, are you? I'm so excited
about that for you.

Speaker 3 (01:10):
Are you going to make sure that this dog is
cat friendly since you do still have a cat a boo.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
If he is, that's great. If he or she is,
that's great. I mean if the cat has to you know.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
A boo doesn't quite fill the void, huh.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
A boo knows how to stay out of the way.
So I'm not really worried to make.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Sure it's a dog that doesn't go after cats.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
See and the stuff I've seen, you know, I've been
following on Facebook. It's always great with kids, they're it's broken,
they're great with other pets.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
Rescues are good at knowing that they do all those
tests in shelters.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
And yeah, you just don't really know until you put
them together. I can't imagine, you know. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:43):
So, And besides, if I spend money adopting this dog,
you know there's a financial investment the cat.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
Zero.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Okay, that's not true.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
Everybody's in I'm just being funny. Everybody's gonna get along
just fine, you know, whenever it comes.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
I think it's so awesome. I mean, I know you
have to do it in your own time, but of course,
Jody and our dog fanatics, I can't imagine not having one.
It's actually good for us when we have the pack
rolling because we always replace one. It's not I don't
know that I want the void. I don't you know that.
It's a personal thing. But everybody's different, right, But it's
just your mom is so wise. How old is your mom?

(02:21):
Eighty six? Okay, so at eighty six she understands the
companionship part of it is really beneficial.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
She relies on that, Yeah, yeah, you know, you ain't
got a girlfriend.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
And by the way, I am dog sitting my son,
Sammy's dog this weekend.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
Jango, are you going to keep him?

Speaker 4 (02:37):
You know, I've even thought of that, like, hey, if
you ever tired of Django?

Speaker 2 (02:43):
No, you need your own?

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Going on, I get along great.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
I think that you.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
Need your own the most uncomplicated relationship of your life.
And I can't we can't wait to hear how the
search goes.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Coming up at six fifty, Jody has three things to
note today.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
Coming up next, though, we heard you about the Budweiser
ad and we have been corrected. Social media connect the
Super Bowl Budweiser commercial, free bird with the Clydesdale and
the baby eagle getting a lot of love this week
and rightly so.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
If you didn't see it, go see it.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
It's the Clydesdale, which always makes you cry, and it's
a bald eagle. It was Budweiser's one hundred and fiftieth
anniversary paired with America's two hundred and fiftieth anniversary ad.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
It's look, it's emotional and ins with the laft. I
think that's genius.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
It's a win. It's an advertising win.

Speaker 4 (03:31):
So I was saying that the first one on the
USI Today ad meter it.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
Was again and a lot of times that Ridesdale's ad
happened that way. There's a lot to know about this ad.
You and I here at the show where we're like,
this has to be a I used in parts of
this ad and we're hearing no. Kim says no, look
into it. Darlene sent this on social media. It's our

(03:55):
Philadelphia Eagles bird. He flies around the stadium Lincoln Financial
Field at every home game. It was amazing to see
him in such a beautiful commercial. So the eagle at
the end is a real eagle. That was a rescue eagle.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
How long at the end looks real to me? What's
the doing with the little fledgling bird. It looks like
and AI is really the wrong term. It's cgi that
it was.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
See, yes, Murphy, Yes it was.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
The Lincoln is the name of the bird was rescued
by the American Eagle Foundation, And they say, you know
those those images at the end with him flying, that
was a regular day's take for him because he flies around,
he does work in loud environments. That eagle is a
rescue eagle who's come a long way. All of his
handlers just rave about Lincoln all the time. So that

(04:39):
was just another day. It was a real life moment
with the horse with the bird at the end where
everybody's crying. Other people in social media, Sandy said, this
fabulous commercial caused an audible gasp of wonder at our
Super Bowl gathering and everybody said wow in Unison.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
Yeah, it's cinematic. It's just so beautiful.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
So when he soars high at the end, the only
thing they.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Say with this added to the footage was a little
a little the artistic direction, you know, But the iconic
horse and this eagle were really there together. The rest
of it. I mean, I guess we'll never really know
because if you're if you're making a movie, you have
to make artistic design changes.

Speaker 4 (05:17):
Yes, if you're focusing and all that, you're focusing on the.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
Wrong correct go back and feel that ad. But thank
you Kim and everyone who corrected us. It's not Ai,
it's what.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
Murphy We's cgi, but only probably in parts. Now Murphy,
it gets America coming up next. Jody has your Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 5 (05:36):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
The super racy version of Weathering Heights is in theaters now, guys.
Critics are saying, now, look, a lot of fans of
the original literature here are not happy with and not
ready for this. I'm sure some of the reviews are

(05:58):
ravishing sex, se reckless love, shamelessly trashy, truly scandalous, emotionally hollow,
and bodice ripping misfire.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
So I just wanted you to know it's Jacob.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
Alordie and Margot Robbie, and it's a reimagining of this
classic story. Okay, lovers, you know, against the backdrop of
the moors, exploring their destructive relationship, their intense relationship.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
But those who are in you know.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
True about true, true to the literature, don't love the
raziness of.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
Well I'm sure Emily Bronte, if she were alive, would
probably disagree with that.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
Maybe, I mean, maybe she in her mind it was racier.
You know, just because it was said a long time
ago doesn't mean it can't be hot true.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
So I just want you to know this is playing
in theaters now.

Speaker 3 (06:50):
It's rated R and it's two hours and sixteen minutes,
the length of most of you know, our movies today.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
Well, they had to make time for the trashy little
longer movie.

Speaker 6 (07:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
Coming up next, Sam has Music News, you'll.

Speaker 4 (07:03):
Let you know just how much money Britney is making
off of selling her music.

Speaker 5 (07:10):
Sam Scott Music News.

Speaker 4 (07:12):
Well, as you may have heard, Britney Spears has sold
the rights to her music catalog.

Speaker 3 (07:18):
It's a little different since she didn't write most of
her music. So let's break that down.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
Well, here's a accurt to TMZ. It happened at the
end of last year, so it's been for a while
now and supposedly in the neighborhood of two hundred million,
which is about what Justin Bieber got when he sold
he has a couple of years ago. Primary Wave, the
company that bought it, is the same company that has
Whitney Houston's rights and Prince and Stevie Nicks.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
You know, they got a lot of them.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
Not a light operation.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
And you're right, she didn't write the songs, but what
she sold was called artist share. It's her portion of
the income generated by the recordings, artist royalties from streaming, sales, licensing,
and other use of the recordings. So yes, it's not
the publishing or not the writing part.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
But it's so above my head.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
You know why so many artists are doing this now
because to me it feels like if you give away,
you give that away, you've given away your art.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
But it's it's insurance against the future for them. A
lot of these artists have done that because their catalogs
may or may not be worth that much in fifteen
twenty years, or they could be, you don't know. But
while they're on the planet is when they want to,
you know, enjoy the benefits.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
Okay, you're right, thank you Murphy for the business. Lesson
enjoy the sor else.

Speaker 4 (08:28):
Got the latest artist who's had to cancel some shows
and rearrange her tour for personal health reasons. It's Demi Levado.
Heard that she came out with a new album last
year getting ready to start the tour. It's not that
deep tour, and she said, as she realized she's overextended herself,
She's got to have more time to get the practice

(08:48):
in and rehearse and be ready and be in strength
and everything to go for the whole tour. I mean,
if you're doing two hours a night, two or three
hours a night, you got to be ready for it,
and mentally too. So she's canceled dates in Nashville, Atlanta, Vegas, Denver,
and Charlotte, as she's rescheduled on Orlando date. So, okay,
refunds for everybody.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
Okay, if you.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
Bought one of those tickets. Here's an inspiring story about
Jelly Roll in the Grammys. He just won.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
I am not okay.

Speaker 4 (09:14):
His wife Bunny says that he's actually going to give
one of the Grammys away to a juvenile detention center
in Nashville, his home city, because he says he wants
it to serve as inspiration for the people there, because
you know, his past is armed robbery, drug dealing. He
was behind bars for a lot of time, right, so
he wants to those guys, those kids to see see,

(09:35):
oh look there is something I could do nice.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
Coming up next, Jody's got three things to note today.

Speaker 5 (09:43):
Three things to note today.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
Number one, while everyone thinks it's cool that Valentine's Day
lands on a Saturday, that means that tomorrow is Friday
the thirteenth. Uh, we have quite a few Friday the
thirteenth landing in the calendar this year. And here's you know,
the first one. And so they're saying, remember that certain
businesses have trouble. You know, on Friday the thirteenth. Airlines

(10:06):
fewer people want to fly on Friday the thirteenth. So
if you're in a business where Friday is a big
day for you, just know if the numbers are off,
maybe it's because everybody's worried about the bad juju of
the date.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
Number two, actor James Vanderbeek.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
We learned this week passed away after a long battle
with colorectal cancer. But did you hear about the go
fund me? This is how go fund Me's work his
wife and family. He wasn't able to work for a
couple of years. You know, he was Dawson's Creek and
Varsity Blues. While all of that had run out while
he was in a battle for his life. So she
his wife started to go fund me to keep the

(10:41):
family in their home and in a few hours they
raised a million bucks. They have six small children. That's
how that works. And number three the Olympics tonight. If
you realize everything's going on all the time, you have
a busy life. So here's what's coming up tonight in primetime,
the Lose Team relay, the women's Super g and alpine skiing,

(11:04):
and the women's snowboard halfpipe final. You know, just keeping
you up to date because you want to catch the
highlights and it really is something special.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
You can't see this stuff every day.

Speaker 5 (11:13):
You're up to date. Three things to know today.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
Murphy, Today's the day I'm waiting to hear. And we
wanted to share with you that our cousin James is
supposed to be finishing up the Crucible, which is the
final part of becoming a marine. This fifty four hour,
rigorous test of all the things that you do. You run,
you hike it's forty eight miles, You lug gear the

(11:39):
whole time.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
You do.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
There are different warrior stations, you do exercises.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
You's basically prep for the extreme things that could be
experienced for real in the field, correct.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
I think there's limited food, there's definitely limited sleep. So anyway,
he's supposed to be finishing with that to day. Like
and we posted about at Murphy, Sam and Jody on
our Facebook and our Instagram, and we've shared it because
it says inter recruits exit Marines. I mean, this is
a big day in the family, and so we shared
it with you and you have shared so much. Thank

(12:12):
you for your service to our country, Melissa said. This
is her message. This is one of the hardest things
the marine will do. If he's at Paris Island. It's
a rough area for the crucible. My son was a
recruiter there many years ago, but he loved every second
of the crucible, even as hard as it was. Thanked
them both for their service. Then both being my uncle.

(12:32):
We posted a picture of this shrine at their home
of my uncle who is also a United States Marine
he went in in the sixties, and then James, his
grandson right next to him. So we have all this
family pride right now about all of this. We're waiting
to hear ac sent a message too. I remember being

(12:54):
a shoulder as my fellow military mom was going through
this fifty four hours feels like a week. But the
man or woman coming out on or woman coming out
on the other side is amazing. Prayers and congrats Marine family.
I mean, what an accomplishment to get through this, not
just the whole training, but the crucible. Yeah, you know
they hear about it the whole time.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
Yeah, and I think you know in all branches, all
military service. You know, that's why they call it boot camp, right,
I mean, you're going to the challenging parts of it.
My favorite one of my favorite moments from the Super
Bowl last weekend was during the Star Spangled banner when
they did the shot of the overseas military and you
just heard the entire stadium erupt into chrisrazy loud cheering

(13:36):
and applause. And that's what That's the kind of appreciation
that we need to show those who are serving us,
you know, correct.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
My cousin Candace sent this. I'm trying not to focus
on the crucible the whole time. I'm also part of
a Facebook family support group where other volunteer moms are
giving updates on the recruits.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
So she feels like she's kind of been able to
be with him. So thank you. For your love and support.
Keep it coming.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
Coming up at seven fifty. Got three things to note
today and next the morning pick me.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
Up, Morning, pick me up time. Let's go to Italy.

Speaker 4 (14:07):
Yes, let's go to Italy for the Olympics. This is
an Olympic pick me up. This is such a feel
good story. I don't know if you know about the
story of Stevenson Savah. He is a Haitian, the first
man from Haiti to compete in a cross country skiing
event at the Winter Olympics. Okay, he did it this week.
He crossed the finish line to all kinds of cheers.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
It's even of Heiti.

Speaker 2 (14:29):
He's already made some history.

Speaker 4 (14:35):
So awesome looking because when he came across the finish
line and he could hear him screaming yes, he bowed
ski across to everybody and they just went nuts. He
competed in an event that I'd never heard of before,
called the skiathalon ski athlon. It's a ten k regular
cross country. That's the one where they have the tracks
and they have to stay in those two tracks and

(14:57):
over ten kilometers. The second ten kilo they can you know,
skate side to side or whatever to pick up speed.
So he came in sixty fourth and at the time
he finished, he was the last person. Yeah, so sixty fourth,
but first person ever from Haiti to compete in this event.
And what's really cool is how he was able to
get there. There was a scholarship provided by the Olympic

(15:20):
Solidarity Program. They paid for his equipment and they paid
for everything to get him to Italy. It brings athletes
who otherwise don't have the means and in the backgrounds,
it gives them a chance to go and compete.

Speaker 3 (15:33):
It's yeah, we the backstory on so many of these athletes.
You know, you have to really really want it because
families have to pay for the training. There's so much
more underneath that you never see.

Speaker 1 (15:45):
Yeah, when I was a kid, I never really understood
how truly expensive it is to not only do all
the training that leads up to it, but the travel.
And it's all the travel before the Olympics. You know,
the family's got to be all in. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (15:58):
Well, yeah, the training, got the World Cup, the whatever
your country's thing. It's just constant to be ready for this.
And by the way, if you didn't see any of
him crossing the finish line, if you go back to
the opening Games. He was the flag bearer for Haiti Fanta.
He's the one wave in the flag.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
Coming up, Jody has another Hollywood Outsider, the Latest Buzz.

Speaker 5 (16:18):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
Not sure if you realized that there was a Scrubs
reboot coming Balladia right? Have you seen the trailer yet?

Speaker 1 (16:28):
I have.

Speaker 3 (16:28):
It's the Scrubs revival and it's got all the nostalgia
that you want and need.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
We're going to need a secret handshake you ready, high five,
bring it down and then Jonas hens if we have time.

Speaker 4 (16:37):
Sure, all the main characters are back.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
Everybody's back. But here's what maybe you didn't know.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
It's not going to pick up where the original show
left off. Instead, it starts present day, so they'll bring
you up to speed with what's been going on with everybody.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
But that same energy and chemistry is all back.

Speaker 4 (16:54):
That was one of the funniest written shows, and the
cast know the time it was.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
It's time. There's a lot of timing going on.

Speaker 3 (17:01):
There's a lot of brilliance happening, and it's a good
escape because most medical shows are the absolute opposite, right,
So everything has changed other than everybody's back. Just the
show premieres Scrubs Revival this month the twenty fifth of
February on ABC and Hulu.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
Will remind you. Since you're so excited, sound too right?
Moving on to you.

Speaker 3 (17:22):
You know about this movie project Hail Mary coming soon
with Ryan Gosling and a really cute alien.

Speaker 4 (17:28):
We're going to say our planets.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
We have to learn how to communicate.

Speaker 3 (17:31):
Like a really cute alien that reminds us of et
or something similar.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
But for our time.

Speaker 3 (17:37):
Eva Mendez, his you know, longtime partner, says that it's
the only co star she's ever been jealous of that
he got to spend a lot of time with this
cute little alien in theaters March twentieth.

Speaker 4 (17:49):
Coming up next, you get to hear from.

Speaker 3 (17:51):
You from Gabriella, who is an exchange teacher. We have
the coolest message from Gabriella, love your name by that's
a beautiful name, sent to Facebook Messenger and I'm going
to read it to you because we do read and
see everything that you send.

Speaker 3 (18:08):
I hope you're having a wonderful week. I just wanted
to write and let you know that I love the show.
I've been listening to your show since maybe twenty seventeen
when I first first moved to the United States as
an exchange teacher.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
Okay cool.

Speaker 3 (18:23):
At that time, I was teaching in North Carolina that
I moved to Texas. For four years, I kept listening
through the podcast. Now I have a unique opportunity to
teach in Thailand, and guess what, I'm guess what, I'm
still listening to you guys on the podcast. Thanks for
your awesome show and all the adventures you share with
listeners every day.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
And thank you.

Speaker 3 (18:45):
PS Jody, My brother flew from Dallas to Sydney last weekend,
and guess who was on the flight with him?

Speaker 2 (18:52):
Nicole Kidman.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
Oh really, Although he thinks she is not very beautiful,
he admitted she is a woman to admire. Have a
great day, and I think she's beautiful. Gabrielle and the
guys just want to know what can we talk to.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
Your brother or what? Yeah? Anyway, isn't that lovely?

Speaker 1 (19:10):
That's beautiful? And I appreciate you listening to the podcast
because yeah, ori antenna doesn't reach that far on the radio.

Speaker 4 (19:18):
Well, that's why they call it the World Wide Web.

Speaker 3 (19:21):
And love.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
Thank you for having it.

Speaker 3 (19:22):
You can listen to just anything anywhere, and we love
you taking us along.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
It means the world, it does.

Speaker 3 (19:28):
I asked, because you know she's traveling, and like, well,
I'll ask what do you teach? And on Facebook Messenger
we were having conversation. She says, I'm originally from Venezuela
and went to the US as a bilingual Spanish and
English elementary teacher, mostly third grade, same in Texas. Now
I am teaching English third grade as well in an

(19:50):
international school in Thailand.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
That's amazing. What a crazy cool experience for me.

Speaker 3 (19:55):
Now you get to teach, you obviously love it, You
obviously are meant to teach.

Speaker 2 (20:01):
It's a special age.

Speaker 3 (20:02):
Language is beautiful, and you're getting to see the world
an exchange teacher.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
We don't hear about as much and change students we do.

Speaker 4 (20:11):
Even though you left the country, you still get to
enjoy Murphy Salmon.

Speaker 3 (20:14):
Jody, Yeah, thank you for that. You can catch up
on the podcast anytime. There's also after the show every
day too. We'll be looking for you, Gabriella.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
Coming up next. Jody has three things to know Today.

Speaker 5 (20:26):
Three things to know Today.

Speaker 3 (20:28):
Number one, this disappearance of Savannah Guthrie's mother getting more
strange every day. TMZ reporting that they received a third
ransom note regarding this, with someone promising to rite out
the kidnapper if the family pays one bitcoin one it's
so strange. One bitcoin, for context, is worth about sixty
six thousand dollars, more than the fifty thousand dollars reward

(20:50):
that law enforcement is offering right now. But it's so strange,
And the FBI says, look, this is not how that works.
You don't get rewards until after an arrest and conviction,
and by away those bitcoin chains and channels can be tracks,
so believe me, they're on that now. It's so strange.
Number two for the upcoming Summer Olympics in La in

(21:11):
two years, we're expecting fifteen million visitors. It's fantastic. However,
there really aren't enough hotel rooms. So if to me,
it's like in LA for the entrepreneurs in the area,
it's time to do some Airbnb pop ups.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
You've got a couple of years to plan as the
city is doing.

Speaker 3 (21:30):
Just food for thought for a lot going on in
La in a couple of years from now. And Number
three Wuthering Heights expected to be the big movie this
weekend at the box office.

Speaker 2 (21:40):
You want me to stalk the super steamy classic.

Speaker 3 (21:44):
And by the way, all the beauty trends are saying
the fever glow, the look of like being sweaty will
be in because of this movie, and heavy Victorian dresses
are back.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
All thanks to this hot movie.

Speaker 5 (21:56):
You're up to date. Three things to know today.

Speaker 3 (22:01):
How to get a good night's sleep even when you're
away from home, Murphy, You need to know this with
all of your travel and whatnot. Yeah, I don't usually
sleep well away from home.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
Should I share my secret? Sure?

Speaker 3 (22:13):
I want it, But some of these secrets are coming
from experts and Olympians who are sleeping away from.

Speaker 2 (22:17):
Home right now. Maybe why I'm the same secret, right Murphy,
Let's hear it.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
I bring my own blanket.

Speaker 2 (22:24):
Yes magic, he brings his magic sleeping blanket.

Speaker 1 (22:28):
I called my magic sleeping It's the ug one that
Jody gave me a couple of years ago, and so
it works as padding you know, in the in the
suitcase for equipment. But for some reason, I sleep better
under it. And yes, I'm a grown adult.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
What's so funny is if you have the backstore. You
don't know this.

Speaker 3 (22:44):
I have looked and look to look for an UG
travel blanket and they don't sell them. It doesn't exist. Yeah,
it would just be me buying you another UG for travel.
It's not the same thing.

Speaker 1 (22:53):
So now it has to go in the bigger suitcase
for the rest of the blanket.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
Anyway. But that's one of the things.

Speaker 3 (22:59):
When you're sleeping somewhere else, make it your own as
much as you can. So bring your own pillow, bring
your own blanket, bring your comforts. If you sleep with
a mask, do it. If you sleep with rain sounds
or ocean sounds, bring that. Make it your own as
much as you can.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
Okay, sometimes I like the pillows better at the hotel.
Oh yeah.

Speaker 7 (23:18):
No.

Speaker 3 (23:21):
Make sure your evening routine, even in a hotel or
wherever you're staying Airbnb, is calm, warm, shower, calming music,
breathing exercises. Steer clear of too many screens and anything
exciting on.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
You know, don't watch an exciting movie.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
The other thing is wake up at your consistent time,
whatever time you normally wake up.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
Do that because it helps you. It helps your whole rhythm.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
That makes sense. I guess that's easy as long as
you haven't completely changed time zones. Oh yeah, I wonder
what the advice is on that, because your circadian rhythm
is different.

Speaker 3 (23:55):
If you do that, your body knows. The clock can
say one thing, but your body knows. Oh and you're talking.

Speaker 2 (24:02):
Sorry, Sam, made a little trick you five second or.

Speaker 3 (24:06):
The other thing is, don't obsess over your sleep. Don't
even though we're talking about that, don't. If you have
a gadget that's tracking your sleep, don't obsess over it
because it just.

Speaker 2 (24:17):
Let it go.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
One not so great night's sleep is not going to
ruin you. You can recover from one rough night.

Speaker 1 (24:23):
Not always easy to roll with it, but sometimes, you know.
Thanks the stressful part of.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
You know, when you're laying there. This is when you're
at home too, When you're laying there and you can't
go to sleep, they do say a trick is to
get up, do something, go get some water or whatever,
then start the go back to bed again. Don't just
lay there obsessing, like, start the routine over again in
a short, many sort of way.

Speaker 1 (24:44):
Makes sense.

Speaker 2 (24:45):
Coming up next, Sam is the food dude.

Speaker 4 (24:47):
Yeah, if you're still searching for that perfect Valentine's gift.
I got some unique foodie ideas for you.

Speaker 5 (24:54):
Sam's always up on the new eats, He's the food dude.

Speaker 4 (24:57):
Well this Thursday and if you still haven't put any
thought into Valentine's Day, you're running out of time. But
I got some great foody ideas for you.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
Okay, you know waffle.

Speaker 4 (25:06):
House takes reservations for Valentine's Day.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
I didn't know that limited seating, so you better get
on there right.

Speaker 4 (25:12):
Yes, and no limited seating, but they're open twenty four hours,
so well that's they don't have a seven fifteen seating.
I'm sure they got a ten eleven or twelve.

Speaker 2 (25:21):
Four hours though. Yeah, two am, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (25:24):
I told you about all the heart shaped pizzas, and
we have the heart shaped trays at Chick fil A.
But Hearty's they did this last year. They were doing
the heart shaped biscuits only during breakfast hours, but swing
in and get your heart shaped biscuit. Buffalo Wild Wings
has something new. They partnered up with Tea Pain and
they're offering this Pick six Love menu where you get

(25:48):
to pick you know, two entrees, two sides, two drinks.
That's a sixth thing. But t Pain also recorded an
album of six love songs, So oh really yeah, So
when you go to Buffalo Wild Wings, you can get
the table for two the Pick six Love album. One
of the songs on there, I haven't heard it. It's
called Let's Go Buffalo Wild And Denny's. Now, this one's

(26:10):
gonna require a little planning, but Denny's in there in Vegas.
They're offering the wedding at Denny's. It's like with an
officiant and music and all that stuff. Not only do
you get the wedding, but you get an over easy
overnight kit that comes with pajamas and then you get
breakfast the next morning.

Speaker 2 (26:27):
That's cute.

Speaker 4 (26:28):
Yeah, at the Denny's in Vegas.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
Also next week.

Speaker 4 (26:35):
You know, we are turning our eyes toward Lentz. A
lot of restaurants this time of year they start rolling
out their seafood options. Smash Burger has the big shrimp
roll that they're rolling out this year. If you think
of a lobster roll book, but it's got twelve fried
shrimp piled on it like a nice little pole boy.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
Interesting.

Speaker 4 (26:51):
Yeah, and my favorite they had this last year at
Wiener Schnitzel it's the sea dog. It's the fish filet
on a hot dog.

Speaker 2 (26:59):
Bun miss stick on a hot dog bind or no.

Speaker 4 (27:02):
It's okay, it's a cod because they also do fish
and chips. There one of those. Slap it on a
hot dog, mind, and you got the sea dog.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
Arc Thank you food dude.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
Coming up next, Jody has another Hollywood.

Speaker 5 (27:13):
Outsider, Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 3 (27:18):
I didn't know Nicole Kidman was working on a new
thriller movie. Of course, she's always working. We just were
talking about her earlier. She has a new movie coming out,
a thriller called Scarpetta, based on the case Scarpetta series
written by Patricia Cornwell.

Speaker 7 (27:33):
You may know it well, Hi, doctor k Scarpetta, do
solemnly swear I will faithfully and impartially discharge all of
the duties incumbent upon me as chief medical Examiner to
the best of my ability.

Speaker 3 (27:49):
She plays the medical examiner and she's trying to uncover
a serial killer. This is dropping on Prime video in March.
It's a deep dive into this nineties air crime spree,
psychological stuff.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
There were I think several.

Speaker 4 (28:04):
Books and so that means we got several seasons.

Speaker 2 (28:07):
Well, it's not. It's a movie.

Speaker 3 (28:08):
Oh, this one is is a movie, and I guess
we'll see how it goes. It's not a series, sorry, Sam.
But it's also her personal life, of course, and her
difficult relationship with her sister played by Jamie Lee Curtis.

Speaker 2 (28:21):
This is a big movie. This could have come to
the big screen.

Speaker 4 (28:24):
I thought you're gonna say her difficult relationship with her husband.

Speaker 3 (28:27):
No played by no Anyway, Nicole Kidman in a new thriller.
It's called Scarpetta. If you know the books, love the books.
It's on Amazon Prime March eleventh. I can't stop thinking
about it, Sam, since you said you're ready again to
watch that special person into your life. That's special someone

(28:49):
being a dog. You're ready to adopt another dog.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
You're walking down actually at the shelter.

Speaker 4 (28:54):
Yeah, yeah, you know, I've had my time to grieve
over Gus and it's time to move on. I need
a buddy around the house. Besides, that's a stupid cat.

Speaker 2 (29:04):
Okay, the cat's not stupid, but anyway, he doesn't know it.
What I want to know is, are you looking for
a certain type or rescue?

Speaker 1 (29:13):
Rescue?

Speaker 4 (29:13):
It's gonna be rescue, but as much as I've told
you in the past that I love my son's dog, Django.
He's quirky, really quirky, but his behavior is just to me,
perfect for a buddy.

Speaker 2 (29:27):
Okay, So I'm.

Speaker 6 (29:28):
Thinking temperament is more important to you. Yeah, temperate personality
also size. I'm not looking for a monster dog again.
I want something that's medium sized. Chihuahua is probably too
small on the smaller end for me. I'm just looking
for a.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
Little dog and little buddy.

Speaker 4 (29:43):
Yeah, little buddy who this time, I'm gonna do it
right too. I'm going to train him good, you know
from gush.

Speaker 2 (29:51):
No train than that way you can.

Speaker 4 (29:54):
Well, yeah, but train as in sit, stay, run, catch
a frisbee, do something that's really.

Speaker 1 (30:00):
Yeah, and doing well that's a one off because you
never know what a dog is going to do, especially
by the time they've established their patterns. You can throw
balls all day.

Speaker 4 (30:09):
And okay, the frisbee slash ball is extra. You know,
I want, I want if I say sit, if I
say calm, if I say do this and do that,
I like him the basic command.

Speaker 2 (30:19):
That's your plan.

Speaker 3 (30:20):
But you know, sometimes you need to know this, and
we've talked about this before. And you know this, but
the dog that you meet at the shelter or the
dog that you spend some time without a shelter is
still a dog at a shelter. It takes them some
time to adjust to life in a home, So you
will need to be If there are certain expectations you have,
then you need to behave accordingly from the time you
get home with that dog. If you do want to

(30:43):
ever be able to create him or her when there's
a thunderstorm or then you need to start creator and
make their create a happy, happy place.

Speaker 1 (30:50):
That's the whole thing crazy. It's humans. We think a
crate looks like jail, but it's it's their safe space.
And if you create train, you're going to have better
success in all the other areas because they follow your lead.

Speaker 4 (31:00):
I have a whole list of rules that I'm going
to go over with the dog.

Speaker 1 (31:03):
He comes and about the things he won't be eating
in the backyard.

Speaker 3 (31:07):
And you're not looking for a certain breath, then just
a certain personality
