Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Murphy Sermon Jody Daily Show Podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Join us anytime eight seven seven three one zero four
msj Hey, Sandra, Hey Tody, what's up.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
Well. I got into the car and I heard you
all talking about making bacon in the oven. I have
been doing this for literally ages.

Speaker 4 (00:23):
Yay.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
When my son Matthew was small, after I started making
it in the oven, he wouldn't let me make it
any other way.

Speaker 4 (00:33):
Correct something, And Murphy, you are correct.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
It does have a little bit of a different taste profile.
It does, and it's perfect for like, you know, if
you've got extra leftover, throwing it in a bag and
like breaking it up for like salads. I like to
sprinkle it on top of my pizza.

Speaker 4 (00:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
To me, it's the best way to have bacon. I
don't like Lenby bacon, so I.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Want definitely Thank you, Sandra. I'm glad you agree on
the flavor profile. The first time Jody did that, I
think that was the first thing I noticed. It's the
little thin something. It's something with like the fat parts
or whatever that's so thin that makes it almost flaky.

Speaker 5 (01:11):
It is.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
Yeah, I mean, I'm sold on it. It makes the oven,
you know, heats up the kitchens do anything. But outside
of that one thing Sandra said that wasn'tcorrect. That was
the extra bacon you put in the fridge. Now you
eat all the bacon.

Speaker 4 (01:22):
Here is no bacon, Yeah, no leftover?

Speaker 2 (01:25):
You mean?

Speaker 5 (01:26):
All right?

Speaker 4 (01:26):
Let's check out twenty four our voice mail Alsa.

Speaker 6 (01:29):
Hi, this is Rachel from Counsel Grove. I just want
to just call and tell you guys that I listen
to you every day when I'm on my way to work,
and I love your station and the banter that you
guys have talking for I heard about you trying bacon
in the oven for the first time, and it is
the only way I make bacon now. The only difference

(01:49):
is I was kind of shocked the temperature that you
said you put it at. I've always done my bacon
in the oven at three point fifty starting was it cold?
And then I leave it in for about thirty minutes
and then when I pull it out, I put it
on paper towels just long enough for the grease to
come off of it. And thank you guys again for

(02:13):
being the people that I listen to on the way
to work.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
Hepe, you'all have a great day.

Speaker 4 (02:17):
Thank you.

Speaker 5 (02:18):
Thanks for the voicemail.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Yeah, my recipe is at four hundred for twenty to
thirty minutes. Really, there's no wrong way play with it.
That's probably based on my oven, our oven, Murphy, and
how it works for me. And I think when I
do bake it, it's usually thick slices.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
We like it thick.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
Yeah, at our house.

Speaker 5 (02:35):
We'll reach out to us anytime.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
We'd love to hear from you, Murphy Salmon, Jody dot
com or of course eight seven seven three one zero
four MSJ Coming up at six p fifty. Jody has
three things to note today.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Coming up next, though, the sweet little change that Murphy
is making at home that seems to make a big
difference for me. Murphy, There's been a subtle change at
home in you, and it's something you've done and you
don't even realize how much I actually appree.

Speaker 6 (03:00):
She ate it.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
So I wanted to just you know, inside a marriage here, Uh,
Murphy and I've been married a long time.

Speaker 5 (03:05):
How long?

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Twenty six years? It'll be twenty seven this year later
in the year, and every.

Speaker 5 (03:10):
Year has been bliss.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
No.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
I don't want any young person thinking that I know
when you get into a marriage.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
It's up and down.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
There are going to be ups and downs that you
cannot predict.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
You're aiming for the net positive.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
Okay, do you read that on card somewhere?

Speaker 3 (03:28):
What your.

Speaker 5 (03:31):
Too deep in spreadsheets lately?

Speaker 4 (03:32):
This is what I want to say.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
For years and years, you know, we've not been on
a different schedule. But you stay up later at night
than I do, and I go to bed early. Like
the other night, I was in bed at eight twenty
and he walks through, going are you going to sleep?

Speaker 4 (03:47):
And I'm like, have you met me? Do you know me?
I go to sleep early?

Speaker 2 (03:51):
You know, more and more when the kids were little,
I went to sleep when I could.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
But now I just thought.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
Goes off in an hour that's starts with three.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
Yeah, I'm on that schedule. But Murphy, you're a late
night thinker. And Murphy usually either was in his man
cave or in the corner of our bedroom in this
sweet little chair in the corner working. I could, you know,
I open my eyes and see him in the corner
of the room working, you know, mad scientists back there,
and I've loved it and respected it. I want you

(04:22):
to be an individual. I've always said that you know.
I'm not here to change you, You're not here to
change me. We're going to choose to live together. But
it's always hard for me when you come to bed
an hour or later than I do, I don't sleep
as well.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
But Murphy's been going to bed earlier lately.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
He went to bed right next to me last night,
like almost at the same I think you were on
your computer.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
But still I think it's really good. And that was
a recent study.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
We mentioned it in Three Things to Know last week
that couples who go to bed at the same time
and sleep together apparently are healthier.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Really okay, I can agree with that.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
I didn't want to throw that at I didn't realize it.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
It was such a perk. I still feel you know,
it's it's done. Want to say strange to me that
you can't fall asleep with me not next to you.
I do because you're an independent person. You know you do,
and you're.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
Very good about tiptoeing around. But I'm just saying it's.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
It's easy, nicer for me, So I hope it's working
for Coming.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
Up next, Jody has your Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 7 (05:24):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
If you're looking for something to watch again, Sam, And
I know you finished Night of the Seven Kingdoms, the
Game of Thrones prequel that you liked a lot. It's
getting good reviews. Finally a prequel that's going to work
for everybody.

Speaker 5 (05:37):
Only six episodes.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
HBO Max has a making of documentary series.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
Have you seen it yet?

Speaker 5 (05:44):
I've seen the snippets because that's got a blooper reel, Okay,
and you don't know, I haven't seen.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
It's called A Night in the Making. So it's it's
it's about the production of it and how they made
that world happen and how happy George R. R.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
Marchin was with it. So that's streaming.

Speaker 5 (06:01):
Just six episodes.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
Yeah, but you know, Murphy, you don't watch this, but
one episode is like a motion picture. Ok So six
episodes is a lot in that world. It probably took
them a couple of years.

Speaker 5 (06:11):
And it took you right back to that period.

Speaker 4 (06:14):
That time and place. So anyway, it's called A Night
in the Making. It is streaming.

Speaker 6 (06:18):
Now.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
Some other streaming news, you guys realize that we're getting
a new a reboot on Little House on the Prairie
on Netflix this summer, and so apparently you know they're
filming is underway.

Speaker 4 (06:33):
They're really really happy with it.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
They're not giving us any of it yet, but the
word in the news is everybody's so happy with it.

Speaker 4 (06:39):
They've very greenlit a second season.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
Oh well, that's big Little House on the Prairie. Retold
Lives again.

Speaker 5 (06:46):
Coming up next. Sam is the food dude. You got
a whole slew of treats and snacks for you coming up.

Speaker 7 (06:53):
Sam's always up on the New Eats. He's the food dude.

Speaker 5 (06:56):
Lots of snacks and chips today. Do you want to
start with sweeter savory savory? All right, savory trisk It
has snack mixed now, did you know that?

Speaker 1 (07:06):
Are they using the little mini triskets in those?

Speaker 5 (07:08):
Yeah, a little tiny trisc its, some kind of little
tortilla chips. Looks like a dorito. Uh. I loves they
have two flavors. They have an original one and they
have a white cheddar.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
Oh be good is calling Monday.

Speaker 5 (07:23):
Yeah, but before you go grab those, you might want
to be interested in dots, snack mix, the pretzels. I
love the Dutch pemale and they're doing it right and
they kind of look like guardetto. It looks like they
have the little Melbow toots in there, a little tiny
checks mix and I.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
Think Dots is owned by the owned by one of
the bigger companies, ritz Bits.

Speaker 5 (07:48):
They have a new flavor, Fiesta Salsa. There's a ritz
Bits thing called ritz Bits Flavor Charged where it's like
it kicks up the flavors. Little tiny crackers.

Speaker 4 (07:57):
They have stuff inside, stuff inside, and.

Speaker 5 (08:00):
The peanut butter ones and the cheese ones never had them. Okay,
these have Fiesta Salsa flavored cheese inside.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
So charged means hot or charged means extra flavor.

Speaker 5 (08:09):
Charge is like bam kicked.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
It's like blasted for the gas. It's like extra flavor,
extra dusting.

Speaker 5 (08:16):
Okay. Pringles also has a new barbecue flag of it flavor,
Pringles Carolina Pulled Pork Barbecue flavor. It's a limited time drop.

Speaker 4 (08:25):
What I want that one forever too.

Speaker 5 (08:27):
You have to go find one.

Speaker 4 (08:29):
Uh and uh.

Speaker 5 (08:29):
You know, we got the protein trend going on right
now with chips. So the folks at Utz says, hey,
excuse me, we have some protein chips too. We're going
to release uts protein pretzels. Okay, and you'll have those
in two flavors, Classic Sea Salt and honey, mustard and
cheddar and also uts protein cheese curls. Okay, those will
come in cheddar and hot and spicy chadar.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
Super curious to see if the added protein adds price,
because it costs money to add protein to these things,
and chips are already expensive.

Speaker 4 (09:00):
I'm curious.

Speaker 5 (09:00):
It's ridiculous.

Speaker 4 (09:01):
They are ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
Unless you're just pouring more in the dust blaster, you know,
that's the unofficial word for it. By the way, what
they coat all the chips and everything with that.

Speaker 5 (09:12):
And laughing cow cheese. They now have a new flavor deal,
pickle flavor.

Speaker 4 (09:16):
Oh that's clever.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
Okay, laughing cow cheese is good too, and it's light.
Thank you food dude.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Coming up next. Jody has three things to note today.

Speaker 7 (09:27):
Three things to note today.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
Number one, gas price is expected to continue to go up,
maybe another thirty cents before the end of this week. Well,
it's because of what's going on in the world with Iran.
It was eleven cents it went up yesterday, you know,
to the average being three twenty a gallon. And that
straight that shipping area afraid of moves that handles twenty

(09:50):
percent of the world's oil tankers has slowed down to
essentially zero right now. Number two, it's nice to have
a phone tracking app so that you know where you're
fan family is.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
You know what time will he be home for dinner.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
But there's a Washington man who's his tracking app on
his iPhone.

Speaker 4 (10:08):
Find my iPhone app saved his life.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
He was skiing at Steven's Pass and he was swept
up by an avalanche. He was buried so tightly in
that snow for hours he couldn't move. He eventually passed out.
His wife saw that he had stopped moving and alerted
the rescue teams where he was, and his life was saved.
He's recovering now. And number three, we know red Bull

(10:33):
as a drink, an energy drink.

Speaker 4 (10:35):
Probably the most I don't know successfully market.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
Everybody knows what red Bull is, one hundred and eleven
milligrams of caffeine per red Bull. They're working now on
a sleep drink complete opposite that will apparently give you
twelve hours of uninterrupted sleep.

Speaker 4 (10:53):
No idea what it'll taste like or what the name
will be.

Speaker 7 (10:56):
You're up to date. Three things to know today.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
What's your first thought on smart glasses?

Speaker 2 (11:04):
Knowing that some people who are wearing glasses could be
recording you, because there is such a thing as meta
smart glasses. They have a partnership with Oakley, which are great.
That's great, I wear What is your first impression of it?

Speaker 1 (11:18):
I don't know that I have a first impression of it.
The only person I know that wears them is our
friend Terrence, who we saw last summer and he said,
and I think he was wearing the Oakley ones of
the MIDI.

Speaker 4 (11:28):
I didn't know Terrence wore them.

Speaker 5 (11:29):
It's like a second pair of him.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
I think every time I've seen him he's had glasses
on it. I didn't know that those were meta glasses.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
Yeah, he loves them.

Speaker 4 (11:37):
I bet he does.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
I think he can read his text without put on
out his phone something like that.

Speaker 5 (11:42):
Yeah, that's the reason I like en stuff you can
do with him. I know there's a privacy issue there,
there is and going around.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
But why is there a privacy issue? There are cameras
on these glasses.

Speaker 4 (11:52):
They're recording.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
They can record you at all times when you don't
even know it. What if you're having what you think
is a private conversation with somebody with those glasses on
it and they're recording you.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
It can record video, sound or video.

Speaker 4 (12:04):
Oh really part of the conversation.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
Now.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
We even did it in a story a couple of
days ago. Three things to know about There being an
app now called Nearby Glasses that constantly scans for Bluetooth devices,
you know, and wearable devices around you. It's not you know,
and it's they're talking about the meta ones, the oakly ones.
It scans to let you know those are around, they're close.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
Well, you know what they ought to do is mandatorily
put a tally light or a red light on them.
So then when they're recording, because for example, Google does that,
you know, with the hub and I don't know if
if Amazon does the same thing with its echoes, but
they by design, you know, those cameras, if they're recording,
there's a blinking light to let anybody know in the
room that they're recording. Okay, and you know, to me,
I know it doesn't speak fashion to have a blinking

(12:46):
red light, But if you're recording somebody and they don't
know it, yeah, I'm good with that.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
Yeah, it's a weird line for me.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
I think I know that y'all think it's cool that
it can do those things, and you know, technology is
crazy cool, but privacy matters well, and they say that
those glasses are it's the biggest privacy disaster that we
face for people being recorded when they don't know they're
being recorded.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
So has Meta had anything to say about it, comment
on it, na change anything.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
They're busy right now with other things, so I don't
think that. I don't have a statement from them, But
there have been investigations, some of them overseas. Investigations say
it really is a privacy nightmare that they're looking into
the workings of it, and they say that they found
that footage that's collected is seen by eyes by people
who work for these companies like Meta, and they're seen
by the human trainers of AI. So it's something that

(13:37):
you're going to continue to hear about the privacy concerns
while the technology grows.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
Coming up at seven fifty, Jody has three things to
know today and next your morning pick me.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
Up, morning pick me up time. You can do a
lot of good with a post it note. And I
don't know if you saw this story floating around about
this teacher who has a very strong social media called
head over Heels for teaching because she just shares great
ideas from the classroom and things that she has proposed

(14:07):
to her students and the way that they respond, and
it's just it's needed in education to celebrate what works
and the wins and all of that.

Speaker 4 (14:17):
And so she has a student.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
Now, we don't know what was going on with this girl,
this child that she was having a low confidence day,
but everybody in the class knew, and she says the teacher,
Miss Miller says that this was one hundred percent her
classmate's idea to write her positive little messages on post
it notes and put them all over her desk. So

(14:39):
when the girl came back into the classroom, she was
out of the room, she walked back in, there were
posteds of all different colors all over her desk.

Speaker 5 (14:46):
That's so sweet.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
You know, we can read one and then this is
written in pencil and children's handwriting, which makes it so Oh,
I hope you kept the hard worker here. One of
them on pink says, keep going. One in yellow says
you have a great personality. And I'm telling you, her
desk was covered in them, even the chair.

Speaker 5 (15:08):
That's beautiful. That's when it says you are a star
and they have a bunch of stars all over it.

Speaker 4 (15:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
Nice, Even though you don't know what it is, it
sounds like she could have been having a struggle struggling
moment in the classroom, answering questions or not doing well
with grades or whomever. Yeah, but that that is so
huge she won't ever forget it.

Speaker 4 (15:26):
I hope she kept them all.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
And what's so funny is that we all have that opportunity.
Every A post it note is an easy way to
do something for somebody which is feels indirect. You don't
have to have a difficult conversation. Sam's famous for his
post it notes. He'll drop one on my desk every
once in a while. Usually it's a joke.

Speaker 1 (15:45):
Yeah, but you know, the thing is it's a surprise.
It's usually in that person's handwriting, so it's personal exactly.
It's got a whole lot of little simple elements to
it that make a big impact.

Speaker 2 (15:54):
I now you got to remember it for if anybody
needs to pick me up, a post it note is
an easy way to do it. You guys know, I
keep a post it note at my desk. You see
the tape around it. It's in yellow there's tape around
it because it's always up. One day when our youngest
Phoebe daughter was here, she wrote, today is going to
be an amazing day.

Speaker 4 (16:13):
Seven blessings to you. I love you, FIBs. It's a
Game of Thrones thing.

Speaker 5 (16:18):
Coming up next. Jody has your Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 7 (16:22):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider wanted to.

Speaker 2 (16:24):
Remind you because there are certain people who show up
and host SNL and you know you're going to be
watching the skits in the days to come after. And
one of those people is hosting again this weekend. It's
Ryan Gosling and he thinks he's hosting for the fifth time,
which is.

Speaker 4 (16:41):
Like a big deal part of the Five Times Club.
But he's not.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
And that's the whole promo is that he thought he was.
So he's backstage, he's popping champagne. He's riding a horse.

Speaker 6 (16:51):
Five Timers Club.

Speaker 5 (16:52):
Michael read it and weep.

Speaker 4 (16:54):
This is your fourth time hosting.

Speaker 5 (16:57):
Wait a second, the first close encounter sketch, second time
you came, you did papyris IRUs, butthead and now this
is your fourth. It's just four.

Speaker 4 (17:06):
It's just four.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
Oh my god, it's just four.

Speaker 5 (17:09):
I'm sure someone's made this mistake before, never once.

Speaker 2 (17:13):
He is so funny, He's so great on this show.
You never know what they're going to do. He is
also doing this timed out with the promotion of his
movie Project Hail Mary, Looking.

Speaker 5 (17:25):
To Stay of Our Planets. We have to learn how
to communicate.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
Check this out, and Sam, this is a movie you're
more excited about than even any Star Wars thing.

Speaker 4 (17:35):
Correct.

Speaker 5 (17:36):
Yes, I can't wait to see this movie.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
So that movie is in theaters later this month on
the twentieth. So Ryan Gosling hosts SNL this weekend with
musical guest Gorillas.

Speaker 4 (17:45):
It happened. Maybe we'll get another beabs and butt hat.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
We shall see.

Speaker 5 (17:50):
Yeah. On the way, it's seven fifty. Tody's got three
things to know today.

Speaker 7 (17:58):
Follow us on Instagram, facebo, this book, and YouTube.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
Do you read and see every single thing that comes
in and so it's easy to join the conversation anytime.
Nancy has done that. She sent an email to Murphy
Samon Jody dot com. This is for you, Murphy. It
reads inclusion means everything, especially to a T one D warrior,
and what she means is a Type one diabetic.

Speaker 4 (18:21):
Warrior like you.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
Yep, and those and those that love them. We had
no idea Murphy was in this group. Oh really we're
talking about. Yesterday's Morning Picked Me Up was about the
type one diabetes breakthrough they've done with laboratory rats.

Speaker 4 (18:37):
Nice, I'm sorry, not rats. Yeah, does it matter?

Speaker 1 (18:41):
I have been so and I've been so for twenty
seven years now.

Speaker 2 (18:46):
Nancy says, we almost lost one of our amazing daughters
two years ago to undiagnosed type one diabetes. She was
in life threatening DKA. Okay, that keto acidos.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
Keto acidots is diabetic keto as what they mean. It's
a it's rare that type one can get to that
point before you're in the hospital, you know what I'm saying.
But because type one, type one is one of those
where your body sputters a little while and then eventually
it just stops. You're not going to walk around with
it for years not knowing you would get it either.
It's exactly type blood sugar and then the keto acidosis

(19:21):
kick yeah, because your body's starving to death even eating.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
She said, She's come a long way and is stable now.
But man, what strength that girl's that girl has listening
to you awesome. Listening to your podcast today brought our
family so much joy. Thank you for the uplifting story.
Good Morning picked me out of being about you being
a type one diabetic. It is the most misunderstood condition
I find. Of course, you never really understand a condition

(19:46):
until you have to, until someone you love or you know,
go to the go to a doctor's appointment, or you
get really sick and you learn about it because you're
fighting for a life.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
Well, and as we mentioned here before, because that the
population of diabetics is type two, not type one, most
of the education goes to type two, mainly because type
two can go unnoticed undetected without a blood test. Type
one's never going to go unnoticed and undetected. You're really
forced to care for yourself. It needs education. But it's

(20:17):
a small circle, you know.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
Yeah, So we'll keep spreading the word and talking about it.
You can join us anytime. Thank you Nancy and family
for listening on the podcast.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
Coming up next, Jody has three things to note today.

Speaker 7 (20:31):
Here's three things to know today.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
Number one, this is fascinating information. You know, it's not
easy being a kid these days. Their lives are very
structured and there's not a lot of downtime, there's not
a lot of relaxing, there's too much tech. So what
can help a kid relax and enjoy their childhood hobbies?

Speaker 4 (20:47):
And so the key they say.

Speaker 2 (20:48):
Is something that your child is very interested in and
for you support them in it, but don't expect perfection.

Speaker 4 (20:55):
Sports is a thing for that.

Speaker 2 (20:57):
Visual performing arts like theater, curating collections, you know, whatever
your kid wants to collect, and then culinary stuff too,
get them in the kitchen.

Speaker 4 (21:06):
Hobby is important for kids' mental health.

Speaker 2 (21:09):
Number two Target making big changes to win back you,
to win back customers. They're revamping all sorts of sections
of the store. Groceries are going to be trendier. They're
revamping the beauty section. It's replacing the Alta mini shops
in like six hundred stores. They're going to do a
renamed Fun one Oho one section with collectibles and toys

(21:29):
and sports gear and pop culture items. Changes coming to
Target solid and Number three Golden Retriever. Walking groups are
becoming a thing. You could google it like those groups
near you, and you might find it's for meetups, it's
for play dates, pack walks, and your vet says it's
good for your dog's behavioral issues, but it's also good

(21:51):
for you for your mental health. Get to know your neighbors,
walk your dogs together. It doesn't have to just be
Golden Retriever groups, but these are the groups that began it.

Speaker 7 (22:00):
You're up to date.

Speaker 6 (22:01):
Three things to know today, ladies.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
If you wonder how single Sam spends his time, well
we can all benefit.

Speaker 4 (22:09):
Take it away, Sam.

Speaker 5 (22:11):
Okay, I was playing around in the kitchen. I found
a murphy. You're gonna like it. I found another TikTok
recipe I had to try. Okay, and this one won't
kill you either. It's uh puff pastry sausage bites puff Okay.
I know it sounds fancy because when you hear puff
pastry you think, oh, well.

Speaker 4 (22:29):
No, that doesn't sound fancy to me.

Speaker 5 (22:31):
But you probably messed with them before.

Speaker 4 (22:32):
Right, Yeah, they're delicate.

Speaker 5 (22:34):
And you get your pack of smoke sausage whichever kind
you like. They usually come two in a pack. If
they come three, that's great too. But you cut up.
You cut up your puff pastry, you know, to match,
whether it's two or three, roll the pastry around it,
or you slice them all like in an inch. It's
almost like a jelly roll.

Speaker 4 (22:51):
It sounds like a corn dog without the stick.

Speaker 5 (22:54):
Yeah, I'm sorry.

Speaker 4 (22:56):
It's like he wanted this to be fancy.

Speaker 5 (22:58):
It's like a fancy pig in the blank. That's what
it is. Yeah, oh okay. Once you have the dough
rolled around the sausage and trolled out, you slice them
into one inch things, lay them all on the parchment
paper and you can but you know, you can do
the egg wash on them so they're shiny. Throw them
in the oven four hundred for about fifteen minutes. When
you pull them out, you can either serve them like
they are or with whatever dip you want. But the

(23:19):
recipe I saw put pepper jelly on top of them.
I bet that's the oven. I had pineapple pepper jelly,
so I use that. I would really like to try
a strawberry with it. But anyway, any kind of pepper jelly,
you brush it on there like cool so they don't
burn you in and eat them. Man, And they look
fancy if like, if you're having a party or get together.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
They look like the savory version of Madelins right with
the sinner?

Speaker 5 (23:41):
Is that what those things are called?

Speaker 4 (23:42):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (23:42):
The little jelly the cookie.

Speaker 4 (23:44):
I'm not sure if those are Madelins.

Speaker 1 (23:46):
I probably have messed up whatever they are. You know
what I'm talking about.

Speaker 2 (23:49):
So you made a batch of these for yourself and
just like tell me what you did with them.

Speaker 5 (23:54):
I ate them? Well, I mean I ate about half
of them. They're still in the fridge right now. Ye
made them. See if if I'm going to be you know,
I like looking for recipes like this for whenever the
family gets together. Test it on yourself, like you warn
us at Thanksgiving. Go into Thanksgiving making stuff fresh and new.
Try it ahead of time. Yeah, this is so easy
and it works.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
Will excuse you've got about an eight month head start start,
so you're good.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
Will you serve it with the pepper jelly on top
of each one or you have it on the side
for people to Dimmy, it's.

Speaker 5 (24:22):
Going to go on top. Okay, it looks fancy.

Speaker 4 (24:25):
Okay, Sam's fancy puff pastry.

Speaker 5 (24:27):
What is it called Sam's puff paste? Fancy puff pastry
sausage bites and you have to eat them with your
thinky in the air.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
Go get the recipe at Murphy Salmonjody dot com.

Speaker 5 (24:38):
Coming up, Jody has another Hollywood.

Speaker 2 (24:39):
Outsider jump in at Murphy Salmonjody dot Com, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook,
TikTok all the places lelanius in an email, Hello, milady
and gents for in general, when you're speaking about Saint
Patrick's day, people like to shorten it.

Speaker 4 (24:59):
We all do. I love to say Saint Patti's Day.

Speaker 5 (25:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (25:03):
I don't know why.

Speaker 5 (25:04):
I guess I never have, and it does.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
I don't know. It's a problem. I just never have.
It's only Saint Patrick's day. I don't say, yeah, you
never said Patty's day.

Speaker 4 (25:13):
I thought you'd. Oh, top of the morning is what
you do.

Speaker 5 (25:15):
It's top of the morning, do you jo? That makes
him break out the accent? Right?

Speaker 4 (25:19):
I love when you do that, Okay.

Speaker 2 (25:22):
I mean, I'm just telling you. I hope I never
meet a man that sounds like that.

Speaker 5 (25:25):
Oh great, I'll have a petition.

Speaker 4 (25:28):
Jorlania says this.

Speaker 2 (25:30):
When it's done, it's Saint Patti's with two d's and
not Saint Patti's. If you decide to wish people to
have it, it's D D Y S, not T T
y S. Okay, you could see why that mistake is made.
Patrick has a T yeah, and it so.

Speaker 5 (25:45):
Anyway, Patty's is used for sausage. Oh right, A D
D I S C T I.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
Anyway, it goes on to she goes on to right.
May the sun be in your face, may the wind
be at your back, and may your pockets be heavy.

Speaker 4 (26:01):
So thank you for that.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
Laura sent this. I'll said to Murphy Salmon Jody dot Com, Hey, regarding.

Speaker 1 (26:06):
Bacon, man, that's become the thing, says I've been.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
Doing bacon in the oven for years and actually learned
this trick in a restaurant. To make the cleanup easier,
line your baking tray with heavy duty foil, then place
the rock on top of the one you're using. After
the bacon is done, let everything cool so the grease
can solidify.

Speaker 5 (26:27):
Yeah, that makes perfect sense.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
That does instead of trying to throw away wet, hot grease,
which is not a.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
Great idea anyway, straight in the trash.

Speaker 2 (26:36):
Can you realize how excited everybody was going to be
about bacon in the oven?

Speaker 4 (26:39):
But it is how I like to make it.

Speaker 5 (26:41):
Yeah, another thing you can do with that cookie sheet.
Once you're done with the bacon, instead of just letting
it sit and solidify, I throw it in the fridge
if you got rum because it's colder and it'll solidify
quicker and you can get rid of it quick.

Speaker 4 (26:51):
You're right.

Speaker 2 (26:52):
Restaurant Tricks, Sam Tricks. We appreciate you jumping in anytime.

Speaker 5 (26:56):
Coming up next, Jody has your Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 7 (27:00):
The latest Buzz. Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 2 (27:04):
So here we are in March and realize a big
one is coming the Academy Awards on March fifteenth. Snuck
up on you did It Next Sunday. It's Next Sunday,
hosted by Conan O'Brien. He's so good as the host.
Maybe he can stay for years and years. We'll see.
This will be the last time it airs live on ABC,
but it will be there and then streamed on Hulu also.

(27:26):
Then going forward it'll be just a streaming sort of event.
That's just the way things are going. But some rumors
that we're hearing already. It's been rumored that Billy Crystal
and Meg Ryan, along with some others who starred in
Rob Reiner directed films, are going to tribute him as
part of the in memoriam segment. That segment is always

(27:47):
very important, and it feels like this year there's some
big people to cover. Hollywood has lost a lot, so
Rob Reiner definitely will, definitely will be tributed. Also, there's
rumor that Barbara Streiss is in talks to perform to
tribute her former.

Speaker 4 (28:05):
Co star Robert Redford.

Speaker 5 (28:07):
Oh yeah, I mean.

Speaker 2 (28:09):
Maybe they would even use this song the way we were.
I mean, you know, she's got to agree to the
terms of it all. So Academy Awards coming up. I mean,
there's a lot to it, but the in memoriam segment,
it's very important. They always leave somebody out the people
get up, so please don't leave out Eric Daine either.

Speaker 7 (28:28):
Sam Scott Music News got a.

Speaker 5 (28:30):
Little update here on the Justin Timberlake DWI arrest video.

Speaker 2 (28:36):
I mean, I'd be fighting for it too to not
be released. I mean, I think we all would.

Speaker 5 (28:40):
It's actually not the first time that they fought for it,
and the judge this time didn't rule because he wants
Justin and the police department to work it out. So
it's likely that it'll be released, and they're thinking it'll
probably be seriously redacted so that there's not stuff of
Justin's Justin's lawyer has said it's got personal, private information
included in Italy information and they don't want that getting out.

Speaker 4 (29:03):
Well, it's to be our nightmare.

Speaker 2 (29:04):
I understand it's a part of the public whatever, but
none of us would want our mistake, our worst day
up on everybody's screen. And because of who he is,
it's gonna be on everybody's phone. And you know it's
just it's two years. Let it put it, Let him
put it behind. Don't think he's sorry, for sure.

Speaker 5 (29:24):
He did. He did, he got his sentence, He did
what he had to do right. Moving on to another guy,
mister Harry Styles. Big week for Harry this week we
got the new album coming out Friday, Kiss all the
Time Disco Occasionally. He's got a concert in Manchester, England
that he's doing to kick off the album tomorrow as well.

(29:44):
And this is really cool. He's asked all the people
he's gonna lock up cameras. A yourphone camera, you can't
bring it in, but he's giving everybody that comes in
a disposable camera. He says, I want you to enjoy
the concert, so take your quick pictures and and everybody
enjoy the concert.

Speaker 4 (29:59):
Oh so good bye.

Speaker 5 (30:00):
By the way, he is on the cover of Runners
World magazine this month. Yes, anybody's interested. Everybody's interested. That
he's interested, and got some confirmation of a long running
Swifty theory about the subject of Taylor Swift's song of
the song Doro Thea that was on her twenty twenty
album ever More. Everybody thought it was about Selena Gomez,

(30:20):
and Selena Gomez says, yes, it's true, it is about me.

Speaker 4 (30:28):
Nice
