Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the second half of today's Murphy, Salm and
Jody podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Best road Trip Snacks.

Speaker 3 (00:07):
Let's hear yours eight seven seven three one zero for
ms J.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
I do want to say that, you know, give yourself
a break.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
If you normally eat really well and you watch what
you eat, it's you eat. I try to also, but
it's almost impossible on a road trip. Nobody wants an apple.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
On a road trip.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Yeah, I mean you want something greasy from a bag.

Speaker 4 (00:27):
He wants some carrots and apples.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
You're a human. Give yourself the break, Jermy.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
What do you do? I usually have trail mixed when
I'm driving.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
Oh yeah, do you make it or buy it?

Speaker 1 (00:40):
But I'll get the ones with the dark chocolate kisses
and Eminem's in them.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Yeah yeah, keeping it chocolate.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
Oh. It kind of trail mixed like that. We think
it's sort of healthy, but it's really candy. Yeah, it's
really candy and nuts.

Speaker 5 (00:54):
It's like saying, when you get a taco salad, this
is healthy.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
Right, No, thank you, Jeremy. Yeah, trail mix, and it's funny.
It infers that, but that's it's just a mix.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
I think their original trail Mix was actually that for
like hikers.

Speaker 5 (01:10):
It probably was semi healthy, energy.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Sustaining sort of snack with nuts into.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
Somebody said let's put candy in.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
Have you seen how many options they have nowadays?

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Huh, and some of those combos are really good.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Yeah, looks like we've got one on our voicemail too.

Speaker 6 (01:24):
Never miss a call, Murphy Salmon Jody twenty four hour voicemail.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Hi, this is Carol.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
I'm calling about the favorite go to snack when you
go on vacation.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Mine's got to be peanut eminem's.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
All right, thanks like love you guys. Thank you for
the voicemail.

Speaker 5 (01:42):
Easy.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
That's funny because I don't think of peanut eminem's only
during road trips.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
It's kind of just a go to snack in general.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Yeah, but that to me is like one of those
that's one of my convenience store stops because if we
came in the house, we're going to eat them. Yeah,
So it's that that's one of those like when the
bag's done, it's gone.

Speaker 5 (01:59):
So when you go to the store, you get a
regular size or you get the share size.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
It's whatever they've got, and I'll rationalize it based on
the price. Well, you know because sometimes you know one
bag is is four bucks, but then you can get
two for six. Yeah, not to correct.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
You guys need to go to the convenience store together.
You know it, right, So keep it coming. We love
hearing from you.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
You can also hit us up on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Jody has another three things to Know Today coming up next.

Speaker 6 (02:30):
Here's three things to Know Today.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
Brought to you by t Mobile.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Number one, it was last week that the TSA finally
stopped making people take off their shoes at the airport
and security. Pretty soon, though, you might not have to
chug your coffee right before going through or throw away
your drinks because they're looking into allowing unlimited liquids, gels,
and aerosols in your carry.

Speaker 4 (02:51):
On no more three point four ounces, right, you.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
Could, they're looking into it.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
You could bring a whole bottle of shampoo if you
really want to through security.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Number two.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
What keeps people from finding the one in life? The
love experts all agree that stop focusing on finding a
perfect person and start focusing on yourself becoming the right
person before you date. That way, you know yourself really
well and you're just better, then you'll find someone who's
better who you can you know? Dub the one and

(03:25):
number three for now and number three shoes have been
disappearing from a campground in Grand Teton National Park, like
nineteen pairs of shoes, and so they can't really ignore it.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
They feel like it's kind of a crime wave.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
But the word is there's an animal of interest and
it's a fox.

Speaker 6 (03:42):
Say.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
They even put up posters around the park that say
want it for Grand Theft Footwear and it's a picture
of a fox with a tennis shoe in his mouth.
They really think that a fox is taking them and
they're saying see it for those staying there, store your
shoes and your tent or in your vehicle because it's
not good for the foxes.

Speaker 6 (04:00):
You're in the note three things to know Today. Follow
us on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube and.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
Read and see every single message that rolls in. Let's
get something.

Speaker 5 (04:11):
You got a question for you, Murphy and Jody from
Joe Anne. Okay, we got this question. I heard on
the show that your dog Edie passed away while you
were on vacation.

Speaker 4 (04:21):
Yes, and you please let us know what happened.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Oh, we we're actually home.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
We haven't talked about this yet I didn't.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Okay, we mentioned it once, yeah, and then we shared
it in social media while we were away.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
She was very sick.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
She was old, and she had an inoperable tumor, and
we learned that the tumor had grown. In fact, we
could see that it had grown within a couple of days.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
That's what's really weird about it is we were going,
we'd already had an appointment to go to it, you know,
a specialist to check it out, and she just started
acting odd the day before. Usually she gets nervous around thunderstorms,
but it was it was a clear day, and she
was just not getting comfortable anywhere. And so when we
took her back yet it.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Was it was getting stick all over the house too.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
So she just was not comfortable at all.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
And you know, Murphy is the one that took her
to the vat I was dealing with a flat tire.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
That's another story. I blew out a tire, by the way.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Oh that's right. I forgot about that. My fault too.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
It was not a good day.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
Yeah, do you want me to yes, please real quick.
I know Sam's dying to know. You can't just bring
that up without right now, I mean, but thank you
for asking about Edie before we go there. And yes,
we appreciate that. And you know she's in a better
place now. So Jodie with the tire thing calls me
and says, I think I needed to come check this out.

(05:41):
You know, we need to see we can pump this
back up. And so I meet her at the gas
station and I walk up to it and I look,
and I said, I can't pump this one.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Up back right?

Speaker 1 (05:53):
She said why, I said, so, I stuck my entire
hand through the hole because she had why.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
It's not so funny. Have you never done it?

Speaker 4 (06:02):
Well, it's a giant hole.

Speaker 5 (06:03):
How do you think I couldn't see it?

Speaker 3 (06:07):
Well, first of all, when I called him, it wasn't
that flat.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
I called him as soon as it happened.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
By the time he arrived and we looked at it together,
it was almost completely all right.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
I think it had to be run over or hit.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
I hit a curb going into the gas station that
I did not even see. There was one curb that
I meant that I got around, and the second one
was right there.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
Came out of nowhere, it seemed.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
And I did not make a big deal out of
it because I am the King of curb clipping, so like,
although I was amused that the big hole in the
tire was prevent us from pumping it back away.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
It was not a good day in our family. But
God Rusty the soul yes covering up.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
Jodi has another Hollywood outsider and next Sam was the
food Dude.

Speaker 5 (06:48):
You got a new and unexpected way you'll be able
to enjoy a Little Debbie Christmas tree cakes this holiday season.

Speaker 6 (06:56):
If it's new and you can eat it, Sam's found it.
Here's the food.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
Dude, brought to you by International Animal Rescue.

Speaker 5 (07:03):
A Little Debbie and her manions have been busy in
the past year or so giving us all kinds of
different treats and variations on the snack cakes and have
the ice cream, you know the ice.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
I didn't know what you were talking about.

Speaker 5 (07:14):
You know the nutty bodies, which are usually the bars.
We now have the ones that look like Twinkies, the
Twinkie shape.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
Have not tried those yet.

Speaker 5 (07:20):
Yeah, so we got all that stuff. Well, hold onto
the steering wheel and hold on to yourself here, because
this one's going to blow you away. Coming out this Christmas.
We're going to have Christmas tree Cake, Little Debbie Christmas
tree Cake coffee creamer.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
Oh wow, and you can have it with a Christmas
tree cake.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
Christmas tree cake in it.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
That sounds good.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
What's going to happen.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
It's going to land in the stores and it's going
to disappear, because if I see it, I'm gonna buy
two of them.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
My question is will it leave the little grease ring
on your lips?

Speaker 4 (07:54):
I don't know that the size and it used to
be right.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
I mean, I love them, but you always know when
you've eaten one of those.

Speaker 5 (07:59):
Right, Moving on to Stranger Things as we wait for
season five to come, we have the trailer. Now you
remember back, remember back a couple of seasons ago, they
had the pizzas I served for Boy Pizza.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
I remember they sold them at Walmart. I never had it.

Speaker 4 (08:14):
They were actually good. They were actually good.

Speaker 5 (08:16):
There's a company called Palermo that makes pizzas you might
find in the freezer section. They're the ones who are
making the Stranger Things pizzas well. We got four new
ones coming out for season five.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
Nice.

Speaker 5 (08:25):
We have the Palace Arcade, Pepperoni, the Hawkins High Cheese,
Star Court Mall Supreme, and the Hawkins Lab combo pizza.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
Man, that's cool. Good for them.

Speaker 5 (08:36):
And if you can't wait for those to come right now,
check this out at Pizza Hut. This is only good
for two more tuesdays in this month. Two dollars personal
pan pizzas every Tuesday. Every Tuesday the rest of this month,
next week, in the following week, pizza. No, you can
go in there and buy oh really, yeah, one topping.
These are usually like eight bucks, so you get them
for two bucks. They do have a lot though, you

(08:56):
can only get six. That's a lot, man.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
That's plenty boys.

Speaker 4 (09:03):
Six is a start.

Speaker 5 (09:05):
And uncrustables get this one pebe Choco craze. Uncrustables are
coming peanut butter and the choco part is chocolate flavored
hazel nuts.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
Oh man, Yeah, that's a game changer.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
That's going to make back to school a okay with
the kids if you stick that in their lunch box.

Speaker 4 (09:22):
A couple of pan pizzas and a couple of these.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
All right, Coming up next, your Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 6 (09:29):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 4 (09:30):
Brought to you by State Farm.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
We got the final trailer you did two of Stranger
Things for the final season that's coming up later this year,
and mentioned it earlier, But one thing I wanted to
tell you. We know it's going to drop in three
different phases, like around Thanksgiving, then Christmas Day will be
the like Volume two, and then the finale will be
on New Year's Eve. Well, we know that the first
drop on November twenty six will.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
Be four episodes.

Speaker 3 (09:54):
It's gonna be like four episodes, then four episodes, then
a finale, So it seems.

Speaker 5 (09:58):
Like nine four episodes Christmas Day. Yeah, so much for
the family.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
Maybe watch it together?

Speaker 3 (10:04):
Oh yeah, right, Moving on to something scary, the handler
of that supposedly haunted Annabelle doll has died while the
doll he was on tour with the doll?

Speaker 6 (10:13):
Is everything all right?

Speaker 3 (10:17):
Those movies annabel based on a real doll who years ago,
like they there were these people investigating it and recovered it.
In nineteen sixty eight, a nursing student have received this
doll and crazy bad things started happening in her apartment.

Speaker 4 (10:32):
Apparently they still happen, and so it's.

Speaker 3 (10:34):
A paranormal investigator who was handling the Annabelle doll, and
the corner says his death wasn't suspicious but they're going
to have a full report soon. And apparently he was
in the hotel room. They were on this tour of
you know, haunted things. He was showing haunted things around,
but he had left her outside in the van. Oh,
the full report coming in a few days.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
Have you ever hung wallpaper?

Speaker 3 (11:00):
I have not, but I love wallpaper, Murphy. You probably
don't even know that we don't have it.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
No, I didn't know that. I've taken it down before.
I'm not a wallpaper fan, man, Yeah, I just because
it's as time goes by, it can be difficult to maintain,
and then if you have to make a change.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
Some of the older wallpaper can look a little cheesy.
But I love some of the new, big vibrant IDs.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
I like grasscloth. Is that what they call it? That
sort of look?

Speaker 2 (11:25):
You know, I don't think they I think that's grass cloth.

Speaker 5 (11:27):
Of course, I don't know which you can make. I'm
sure there's a grass cloth wallpaper. Correct, that's basically what
it is. Why do you ask my daughter Mattie at college,
she's moving from one house to another house with some
different roommates, and of course that's like, hey, can you
come help me take this down and move and I
had to go take the TVs off the wall and
move them over to the new house and put the

(11:49):
TVs back up on the wall. Yeah, And she says,
oh yeah, and I want to put up some wallpaper too.
It's like I've never hung wallpaper.

Speaker 3 (11:56):
Yeah, you seem like the kind of person because it
seems like an exact thing.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
You could try it. It's my I have a closet
fear on that one. I wonder if it's the same.

Speaker 5 (12:05):
Because I think of wallpaper hanging as messy water paste,
all this nonsense, and.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
If you don't get it right, it's tilted.

Speaker 5 (12:14):
And you can get it off and put it back. Well,
apparently wallpaper has advanced a little bit. Of course, it
has it's stick, you.

Speaker 4 (12:20):
Know, peel and stick. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (12:22):
So she had this roll of wallpaper and I go
over there and I hang it up, hang up one
and you know, it comes with a little thing to
smooth the bubbles out, okay, And then got the second
one and hung it up, and it was it's pretty
easy to you know, make the line because the wallpaper
she's got is straight up and down. Lines worked, And
so I did that. When well, she ran out, she
didn't have enough, so I'm waiting for her to get

(12:44):
more so I can go back and finish.

Speaker 4 (12:45):
But it was pretty easy, Murphy.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
I worried that I would get closer to the edge
of the wall and that's when everything eventually would start
to line up. Yeah. Right.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
My favorite rooms that I've seen lately, when you're looking
at sort of decor, is like where want it's only
one wall has some vibrant, beautiful press.

Speaker 4 (13:04):
That's what she did.

Speaker 5 (13:05):
One wall has the wallpaper the rest of the thing.
And I even told her ahead of time. I was like,
you know, these things make this wall may not be
perfectly plumped, so it may be crooked and not my fault.
I just put that warning out there. But so far
it's worked great. I made it a little long and
a little short, and you get on there with your
utility knife and cut.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
It's amazing how good it looks.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
Wow. Yeah,
