Jody podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Social Media connect I love hearing from you Instagram, Facebook,
even on YouTube. I promise we're going to get to
and Sam might you might get to pick You've helped
Sam name the chicken coop.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
Well, this is my son Wale's chicken coop.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Right, We're gonna get to those first, Sandra says regarding
Captain America Brave New World. She watched it with her son.
She said, we both enjoyed it. Believe me, he's very
picky about his movies. And Anthony Mackie was great.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
Your inner circle has been compromised.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Let me fix it.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Watch or so you're not Steve Rogers.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
The reason Sandra's like letting us know that is because that, yes,
it was number one at the box office over the weekend.

Speaker 4 (00:44):
It debuted because it's a Marvel movie.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
But a lot of audiences and a lot of fans
were like, it's a stinker, like they just they didn't
It didn't really live up. But everything can't be the Avengers,
you know Tony Stark's big moment.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
It was only two hours long. Maybe it needed another.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Hour anyway, And also Teresa said, tried your crock pot lasagn.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
Your recipe really amazing. Thank you for sharing. Cool.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Yeah, our slow coop to Lasagna is online at Murphy
Salmon Jody dot com. That's always a good one. And
I cook it on low for like three and a
half hours every time.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Okay, you ready for the suggestions here for the chicken
coop that my son Will is building or he built
it already and he's looking for a name for it.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
Okay, and your suggestion was coop.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
There it is because you can play music with it.
We have Bill says dB Cooper. Oh, Donna, I like
this one from Donna.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Coop de jure.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
Oh, that's cute.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
Let's see we have Henway Park from Melissa.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
That's cool. That's different.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
Let's see here the love shock from Sherry.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
Oh cute, Coops.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
I did it again.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
Oh I love coops.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
I did it again, the clucking pad and also coopy
mccoop face from Jim and you figure you got to
throw that one in.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
That is cute. Do you think your son will once
he lands on one, will he make a sign? Make
a sign at the top of the coop?

Speaker 3 (02:12):
You know, I'm hoping, so, I mean, you know, what
I could actually push that one along, or.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
You could have one made once you know what his
That could be a great gift once you know what
he settled on for the name of their chicken coop.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Yeah, maybe like Fly the Coop, which I think is
a good one.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
That's a good one too.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
Yeah, it's cute, all right, keep it coming. Thank you
for this. We love having you along.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Jody has three things to Know today. Coming up next,
Here's three.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
Things to Know Today, brought to you by State Farm.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Number one, Will you ever forget seeing that upside down
plane crash yesterday in Toronto? Eighteen people were injured, all
eighty on board were evacuated and lost.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
Correct. It's such a crazy thing to see.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
And of course the Transportation Safety Board of Canada initiated
an investigation. Already NTSB on board studying it because understand,
it's extremely rare for an aircraft to flip on its back.
They are designed to handle even that sort of thing
without flipping over. So it's under investigation for sure, and
everybody's okay. Number two, apparently we are supposed to stop.

(03:15):
And I remember hearing this from a pediatrician years ago.
Giving kids under the age of eighteen caffeine at all
a developing body.

Speaker 4 (03:24):
They're not made to handle it.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
It's not good for the cardiovascular system and the digestive
and even mental. So energy drinks cut them out for kids.
Sports drinks cut them out for kids. Even soda.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
It's supposed to be water, milk, and juice.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
About us, We're okay, we're over eighteen And number three,
another Lego set heist has happened. Suspects back to U
haul truck up to the front door of a Lego's
place and in about five minutes loaded up some high
value collectibles into a truck and then took off. The
owners are asking for Lego collectors to watch online to

(03:59):
see if the sets are so. Yeah, the target of
these things across the country because retired sets are worth
a load of cash.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
You're in the No.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
Three things to know today?

Speaker 3 (04:11):
How about a little behind the scenes sneak here at Murphy,
Sam and Jody. Okay, you know, my daughter Mattie brought
me a candle for Valentine's Day. She dropped in and
surprised us last week.

Speaker 4 (04:20):
And chocolate dip strawberries.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
Chocolate dip strawberry is one.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Of the really sweet moment, by the way, and I.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Was surprised your heart you you looked like the grinch
whose heart was growing.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
Was very cute.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
It grew tittonsizes that day.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
I brought up to you.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
That's about smelling the candles. Mattie has a unique way
of smelling candles. Whenever we've gone out. It's like, you know,
I pull a candle, take the lid off, sniff the candle.
Mattie sniffs the lid and she says, that's the way
you're supposed to do it. Yeah, And I asked Jody,
and Jody's like, yeah, I sniffed the lid.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
I do sniff the lid, but I'm not a lid sniffer.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
It just seems like with metal lids like bathroom body works,
you're not going to smell what's gonna stick in the lid.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
You know, when you ask me that, I don't really
know why I only sniff the lid. I can only
imagine a couple of things. My You know, you have
these subconscious thoughts, you don't. You do things you don't
know why you do them. That's one of the things.

Speaker 4 (05:18):
I do. Have a friend who says that she does
not sniff the hell.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
She doesn't want to pick up the whole candle for
fear of dropping it and breaking it and having to buy.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
It Yankee candles.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
It wasghs a ton, right, Yeah, so you just smell the.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
Lid, well, Iran, if you ever noticed, they're almost too
many on the shelf anyway, so when you're trying to
put it back, Oh yeah, it's just enough, right. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
It's those glass shelves that make me nervous, those ones
that you know anyway. I've also I know that a
lot of people say that it's a better representation of
what's at the top of the wax. That's that the
lid kind of holds. Like if you open it and
you just smell, don't take it all the way off,
and you just smell right there between the lid and
the wax, that you get a better representation of what

(05:59):
the sense going to be. But nobody knows what a
candle's going to smell like burning, because there's there's a
hot scent and there's a cold scent, and what you're
smelling in the store is the cold scent.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
That's true. I've smelled them before where you think they're
gonna be ah, now, they're going to fill the room
and then you light them and they don't fill the room.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
Yeah, Or when I bring a candle home that Murphy
can't take it because of his headaches, and it's just like, man,
I wasted that money because once I.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
Burned, you could have smelled the candle and not the lead. Yes,
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Maybe there's no wrong way. Just careful though, know that
it's not going to be an exact science.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
Right. Yeah, that makes sense. I'm just gonna keep on
sniffing the way I've been sniffing.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
You too, Sam, you do it.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
Coming up, Jody has another Hollywood Outsider and coming up
next the really risky thing that I'm doing with one
of my credit cards that Jody wishes would stop doing.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
Hang out with us on your schedule and it's convenient
for you. Take it along on the Murphy, Sam and
Jody podcast. Easy to subscribe to you plus you get
a bonus there every day, the after the show podcast.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
So Jody's a little surprised that I haven't canceled a
credit card that's missing.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
Oh, that one's still missing.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
Yeah, I've had a credit card missing now for a
but I don't know a week and a half. No,
it's not quite two weeks ago.

Speaker 4 (07:10):
Okay, aren't you surprised?

Speaker 3 (07:12):
Sam though, yeah, I know, and Murphy I would have
been canceled right away.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
Well, see, here's the thing. I think it's still somewhere
because nothing's been charged to it. Like the wait and
see approach is probably not what most banks would recommend.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
But here's here's somebody steals a credit card.

Speaker 4 (07:27):
They're using it quickly, right right.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
So I've actually checked. Yeah, it's not it's I don't
think it's stolen at all. I don't know where I've
left it, and I don't think that anybody's found it.
So if somebody had found it, you know, it would
be there would be charges on it. I know. It's
this is a really ironic miss so I know for
me being mister safety. But here's the problem is I
have so many things that are automatically charged to that

(07:52):
credit card, from utilities to everything else every month.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
Well whatever, okay, yeah, don't cancel that.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
Well that's what I'm saying. If I cancel all these
things that you know are auto draft if I don't
really remember, yeah what they are, you know, and some
of them are subscriptions and some of them are. You know,
it's I'm gonna have to go through all of the
credit card statements just to find out what we're paying for.

Speaker 4 (08:16):
What a huge pain.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
But and so that's what I've been, you know, delaying.
But I've been checking it regularly and there are no
new charges. And I do have it setting alerts now
that anything that's over a cent literally it is spent,
it's triggering an alert. So and you've really had a
big weekend, Joe from the alerts, I've been good. But

(08:41):
but anyway, I think I'm going to go back and
look at my car one more time.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
I think that it's very possible down between the seats
where it gets tight right when you when you first
got that vehicle.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
How many times did I have to help you go
find something?

Speaker 1 (08:54):
Yeah, I know.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
My hands are smaller and there's a flash flight.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
I haven't yet I needed do that. Here's here's what's
even weirder. Jody also misplaced a credit card while back
a few months ago. And mind no activity, no activity
on that one.

Speaker 4 (09:10):
We're just living dangerously.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
Wow kidding.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Sorry to be such a disappointment coming up next to
your Hollywood Outsider. The Latest buzz Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
Brought to you by Private Team Missed.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
There's a new medical drama in town on streaming anyway,
and if you have Max, chances are you've seen it
because it's like there, it's prominent right now the pit.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
Welcome to the pit.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Let's going to save some lives on eighty fourteen.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
You've lost a lot of blood.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
You need to go to surgery right away.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
All right.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
They've got a hit on their hands with this starring
Noah Wiley. And if that name doesn't mean anything to
you and.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
Me, a TV doctor, he was on Er.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
With George Clooney all those years ago, and he was
he's a man now anyway. This is crazy because they've
already been greenlit for a second season. It's doing so well.
It unfolds in real time. He's the chief attendant. It's
a you know, trauma hospital Pittsburgh actually, and it takes
you through with fifteen episodes, a fifteen hour shift with

(10:09):
him teaching a group of interns and residents. I like
that concept. That sounds really good, edge of your seat stuff. So,
no Wiley, you got a new job for R Okay.
It's from the producers of R. Se and the West Wing.
I think, okay, moving on. It's on Max right now.
You can watch the first season. Anyway, Goonies two is
going to happen, so it's officially a go. It'll include

(10:30):
Corey Feldman, Kihi Kwan yay, and a big name, Steven Spielberg.
He's on board. It'll be Ambulance Entertainment, along with Chris Columbus,
who wrote the original Goonies. I don't know if you
guys remember I was mentioning last week that, no matter what,
I'm going to do something for our girls, no matter

(10:51):
their age is now Murphy for I was going to
do something for them for Valentine's Day.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
Yeah you did, and you did right, But it was
last minute.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
I came up with it Friday night on Valentine's Day,
knowing I wasn't going to see them until like late
that night or early Saturday morning. And I had thought about,
you know, getting in the car and going to the
store and buying a box of you know, some sort
of treats, Yeah, some sort of Valentines sweet thing, or
my brain went to all the kind of things they
might what if they need dry shampoo right now? I

(11:19):
could totally Valentines that up. You know, I like doing
that sort of thing, but I didn't feel like going anywhere.

Speaker 4 (11:26):
Yes, and so does it matter? Does it matter? I
made brownies. I shared a little reel of it.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
I made brownies and I used heart shaped cookie cutters
after they came out of the oven and cooled off,
and they did. It was a chance you take if
you put that cookie cutter down and you kind of
shake it up and it came out perfectly. And then
I sprinkled some glittery sprinkles on top.

Speaker 4 (11:51):
Yeah. Yeah, of course. Not my first go around as
a mother.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
And I think Jody was able to get about five
hearts out of the pan. What got weird was when
she tried to shove it back together, the leftover pieces
into another heart. That didn't look right.

Speaker 4 (12:07):
Okay, who did that?

Speaker 1 (12:09):
Nobody did that?

Speaker 3 (12:11):
Leftovers?

Speaker 1 (12:12):
Yeah I did. Yeah, the cutout parts, the left door.
I guess this would be considered good like donut holes,
I guess is what they were. There were brownie holes,
and so it.

Speaker 4 (12:19):
Was really fun to do that.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
But I have to say one of the delights of
this was it was the Dolly parton fudgy brownie mix
and I had not made that ever yet. So you
buy a box of brownies and you think it's going
to be the same thing that you've always done, you know,
you know, I make brownies, You've made them from.

Speaker 4 (12:36):
A box forever.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
Brownies are brownies, not these everything she brings to the
table in that in that air, Yeah, it's different. Instead
of oil, you add butter, melted butter to these brownies.
Oh you know what else is in the box of
fudge packet that you have to sort of need before
you cut it open and put it into into the battery.

Speaker 4 (12:59):
That's why they were so standing.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
Yeah, and they were thin too.

Speaker 3 (13:05):
Well.

Speaker 4 (13:05):
I used a big fat pan.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
Okay, I thought that was a fudge thing.

Speaker 4 (13:09):
They were thin hearts, but it was sweet though.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
They were almost like cookies.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
Yeah, they were. So it was just a fun thing
to do, very last minute, such a mom thing.
