Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Murphy, Sam and Jody Daily Show podcast,
which we have conveniently broken up for you into part
one and part two. So let's begin with Part one.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Textter call us eight seven seven three one zero four MSJ.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
So many ways to jump in and from Facebook. Jennifer
simpis message, Hey guys, I am watching the new OJ
Simpson documentary on Netflix. Jody mentioned it on the show
the other day.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
See in the car I'm coming up to create.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
It's called American Manhunt OJ Simpson, and I told Sam.
I told you this, Sam. I feel like I have
done my time with that story. It's the one true
crime story that I know too much about.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Yeah. Well, I mean and if you were around in
the nineties, it was all over TV, the live coverage
and everything, so yeah, it was the Bible lived it.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
Yeah, I thought I knew everything about it, and I
kind of mad at myself for falling victim. But I
watched it again and I've not watched it.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
I know that Sam, you've watched it too, But yeah,
when Jody's had it on, I haven't been in the room.
Why did they introduce a new one?

Speaker 3 (01:03):
There's been some more documentary. I'm sorry, there's been some
more documents released since OJ Simpson passed away. There is
new information. There's actual new information, didn't you find Sam?

Speaker 4 (01:13):
Yeah, and I've never seen those crime scene pictures before.
I don't know if they showed it in that other documentary,
but this was like, Oh, okay, I don't stop, please.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
I actually saw some of those because back in the
day and during that time, I was interning at a
TV station and I was in a newsroom all day,
and I saw some of that back then, and I
was like, WHOA, Maybe I don't want to be working
in news true story anyway. Jennifer goes on to write,
I'm a high school forensic science teacher and I know

(01:42):
and true crime officionado. I've seen several documentaries about this case,
and there are things in this Netflix series that I
have never seen before, agreed shout out, Jennifer, including went
eyewitness accounts that were never presented at trial.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
Yeah, I'm only in the first episode, but I can
already tell it's going to be a good series. Jennifer,
it is. I want to say this. The second episode
focused on the chase, the Bronco chase. Stuff I never knew.
Stuff we never knew because we couldn't know because they're
talking to people and their perspective that we had never
heard before. Right, Yeah, So.

Speaker 4 (02:18):
Yeah, I definitely learned a lot. And I'm with you, Jody,
this is enough. I'm sorry I put on another one.
I'm good. I don't mean to see it. I got
all the info I need.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
But the new info it's not like just hearsay, right,
I mean, is this it's actual stuff stuff.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
It's actually stuff stuff.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
It's actually the police that were involved, the detectives, his agent,
all these people that weren't friends of his close.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Okay, mistakes, you know, you know, there was so much
happening at one time and so many people involved. You
can see how mistakes were made and then some of
them you're like, how could this mistake have been made?
So it's four parts. Not for the lighthearted, but thank you. Jennifer.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Coming up, Jody has three things to know today. That's
at six point fifty. And next, Sam is the Food Dude.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
More free food and deals for the super Bowl this Sunday.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Sam's always up on the new eats. He's the food Dude.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Brought to you I International Animal Rescue with the Super.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
Bowl coming up this so weekend, we got a bunch
of different restaurants jumping in with hey, check out our
freebie deal or some kind of deal like Buffalo Wild Wings,
and they've done this a number of years. But if
the game goes into overtime, everybody gets six free wings.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
Okay, okay, I'd run at the game not going to overtime.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
If you remember it did last year. That gave out
two and a half million wings last year.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
That's interesting timing though, because by the time I get
to the end of the game, I'm stuffed. Oh no, no, no,
the you.

Speaker 4 (03:41):
Win the free wings, but the date of redeeming those
is February twenty.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
Okay, God, I don't have to. I'm not forced.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
After late night Sunday night, I gotta go out to
Buffalo Wild Wings. No, it's absolute your favorite. I think
it's on the app.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
Yeah, you get it. It's like two weeks later, between
two and five in the afternoon on the twenty fourth Wings.
Here's one from Outback Steakhouts, fifty nine wings. You know
it's Super Bowl fifty nine. Yeah, for fifty nine dollars.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
Oh yeah, it's a party right there, having a party there.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
Sure will get your blooming onion. While you're at it,
Chuck e Cheese.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
There.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
Gimmick is depending on who wins the game, we're going
to change our name for a week. It will either
be Chuck Eagles Cheese or Chucky Cheese.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
That's cute.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
That's cute actually, both of which have a nice ring
to it.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
And whoever came up with that in the cheese factory.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
Chipotle's doing an extra Sunday on Monday. You can get
free Gwak and free Queso Blanco. Yeah, in the stores
right now. You know that foot long Oreo sandwich at Subway,
It's now hit the stores. It did it late last week.
If you want to that joins the foot long cinnamon roll,
the foot long churo.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
You said Oreo sandwich. It's actually just an OReGO.

Speaker 4 (04:58):
Foot on Oreo cookie. I said sandwich. You did, Oh wow,
Well it's a foot long cookie.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
Got it? Okay? Sounds good. You never had any of that.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
You have to share a foot long cookie.

Speaker 3 (05:07):
I mean you should talk to your dietician. You should.

Speaker 4 (05:10):
Jimmy Johns has a new red velvet cookie sandwich as
well right now, and I'm looking at it thinking, oh,
that's great. Ice cream in the middle. It's not ice
cream in the middle, it's two red velvet cookies and
then cream cheese frosting in the middle.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
That's rich.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
It is very Valentine's Day issue, and it's available now.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
Yeah, that sounds like the moon pie my grandmother used
to make.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
Coming up next to your Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
Brought to you by All State.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
I want to give you the update from above about
this justin Baldani and Blake Lively legal battle from their
time together on the set of the movie. It ends
with us, Lily, because a lot of you are very invested.
I'm learning that as we go along that a lot

(06:01):
of fans are really invested and you know, kind of
want to know what's going on between these two kind
of get excited about the conflict. So understand this popular
or just because it's interesting. I guess it's a soap opera.
It's a he said, she said thing, and there's all
kinds of stuff flying, and honestly, he keeps sort of
they say he's litigating the case in public, you know,
with all this stuff, he's really he does instead of

(06:24):
waiting until the trial, he's dropping stuff. I guess to
sort of maybe influence the mind of the public. I
don't know. He is countersuing her for defamation and extortion.
He's can really countersuing him and her and Ryan Reynolds
then Blake Lively issuing him for sexual assault. So what
he has done this update this week is that he

(06:45):
has launched a website called Lawsuit Info and all kinds
of stuff on it, including releasing text messages where she
explains that this is while they're working together, that being
flirty is my love language. And there's even text messages
from Ryan Reynolds happen to adore you justin He's just
putting it all up there. Read into it, what you

(07:05):
uh wow, what you can make of it?

Speaker 1 (07:08):
Coming up next, something that's a little easier to figure out,
a really good recipe for you to add to the
list for the game this weekend.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
For Super Bowl Sunday, We've got some game day grub
for you our favorite football recipes at Murphy Salmonjody dot com.
I want to break down one for you right now
that's gonna make your mouth water right Baked Buffalo chicken
dip Murphy. It's been a minute since I made it.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
And it is delicious, Holy moly.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
And guess what else? So easy? Have you ever made this? Sam?

Speaker 4 (07:37):
Now? Is there a chicken in it?

Speaker 3 (07:38):
Yes, you buy a rotissery chicken. You shred it up,
or you get Murphy to shread it up, like what
I do at the house. I'm like, I don't want
to touch the bird, can you?

Speaker 1 (07:44):
Yeah, I'm happy to do that.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
I do my stuff while he's doing that. You're gonna
take a block of cream cheese. You can take two
cup cups of like shredded rotisserie chicken, or if you
have chicken breast left over, chop them up. You don't
have to do a rotiss re if you don't want to.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
Yeah, fast and easy, because you're gonna.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
Do some grated cheddar cheese. You know, some buffalo sauce.
Of course, you're gonna do some ranch dressing. You know,
a dash or two of hot sauce, however much you
like or don't like. And then you want some little
green onions for garnish, and then whatever you want to
dip it in, like I say, a heavy chip or
even celery sticks. I know that's not me.

Speaker 4 (08:18):
Oh, there's a super Bowl party.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
Hey, if there's a really good dip. I'll eat a.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Sawry celery stick. I think I grew up thinking that
that was one of the things that was at every
table because my grandmother always put her stuff out with
celery stick, stuffed with something.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
My grandmother would put pimento cheese into celery stick, and
I thought that was fancy food. Are you kidding? I
would pretend like I was on the love boat ship
eating that fits fat, eat them with your pinky up
in the air. Anyway, So you put all this, you know,
heat your oven back to the baked buffalo chicken dip.
You heat your oven to three point fifty. You put

(08:55):
everything in this big you know, you combine it all,
even the hot sauce, all of that. You put it
in the oven. In a bake. You put it in
the bacon dish. You put it in the oven for
about fifteen minutes until it's bubbling. Take it out, and
then sprinkle the rest of the shredded cheese on top.
And then the when you right before you serve it,
you know, some of the green onions. It's really pretty.

Speaker 4 (09:14):
Yeah, so colorful.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
But when you say hot sauce, do you mean like
buffalo sauce? Like or wing sauce.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
Just you've already put buffalo chicken sauce in there, okay,
can it? I'm talking about a dash or two of
hot sauce or tabasco Okay. So I never do too
much for you, Mark.

Speaker 4 (09:30):
And if you don't want to clean it when you're done,
go buy some of those ten trays. So once it's
over with you just throw it away.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
Correct. Go get all of our recipes. Game Day Grub
at Murphy Salmon Jody dot Com.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
Up next, Jody has three things to Know Today.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
Three things to.

Speaker 4 (09:48):
Know Today brought to you by State Farm.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
Number one, Creuse continued to work yesterday in the Potomac
River next to Ronald Reagan National Airport. They were removing
the wreckage of the American Airline flight and the military
black Hawk helicopter from the crash last week. One of
the engines had been lifted, and they said the major
goal for today is to recover the cockpit from the

(10:12):
plane and bring it to the surface. They did have
to stop a few times to recover remains from the wreckage.
Number Two, if you do math homework with your children,
if you help them and you have math anxiety, that's
the number one subject that they are likely to feel
that anxiety from you and take it on. So if

(10:33):
it does cause you anxiety, be honest about it, but
be positive about it because they can kind of get
it from you. And isn't that sad?

Speaker 4 (10:41):
Yeah, And it's not just math, it's life in general.
They can pick it up from that.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
They do, But as far as subjects in school go, math,
anxiety literally can be within a family. Something to note.
And number three, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell says that the
theories about officiating conspiracies are ridicuts. He says, these guys
are making the right calls, the best calls they can

(11:05):
on the field, And he says, let's move on and
have a different conversation. In fact, let's look at how
technology is going to help support officials in their jobs
in the future.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
And in the meantime, let's just not touch Patrick mahomes.

Speaker 3 (11:17):
Right, why don't you ask him that question?

Speaker 2 (11:19):
You're in the note three things to know today.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
When you become a parent and you have littles at home,
if you have more than one, if you have a
second child, that second baby comes along and teaches you
things you didn't know You were supposed to learn. And
here it is. I bring it up because today is
our baby's birthday. Phoebe Phoebes is twenty years old today.

(11:47):
It hurts to say it a little bit. Yeah, and
I will never forget these memories that rush back to
me when when it's her birthday, when I think of
her when she was little. Well, one of them happened
right after she was born. Murphy, I've told you this
story before. It's very personal. I was in recovery after

(12:07):
having a sea section, and I thought, man, I've done
this before, give me my ice chips. I felt confident.
You know, it went well, She's healthy. I know what
I'm doing. I remember going I'm going to go home
with a baby for several weeks, and I know.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
What I'm doing.

Speaker 3 (12:24):
I got this, I think I said that to the nurse,
you know, and little did I know that this child
was completely different than our first one, Taylor. So I
had nothing. I got this, No, no, no, I had nothing.
And I remember having a similar thought that day we
brought her from home from the hospital. Just a couple
of days later, I was sitting on the floor of

(12:44):
our small, tiny, little first house with her in my arms.
Taylor's running around, You're running around, and I looked down
at her and I was like, I know what I'm
doing this time. I know I'm not going to be sleeping.
You know. I was lying to myself that this was
going to be the same. So you have a confidence
of Okay, I've done it before. So it's not a
blank you know, page completely different child. You know, she

(13:09):
just she was always on me. I was the only
thing she ever wanted for like two years of her life.
And it's not a complaint, it's just wow, And that
continue to.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
Happen different personalities. It just shows that it's not about
it's not just about your approach to it. No, the
personality of the child is different.

Speaker 3 (13:26):
Yeah, there's so much that you do. You do learn
a lot the first time. But you could have ten
children and they would all be different and all challenge
you as a parent in different ways.

Speaker 1 (13:37):
Sam, You've got five different ones and they're all different.

Speaker 4 (13:39):
You got five, there's always somebody with an issue going on.
That's the thing too as a parent. It's like you
never see, I got your issue solved. Good, Oh wait
this one over here. You'll herd cats.

Speaker 3 (13:50):
It's a job that never ends, but it's fantastic. Happy
Birthday feeds.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
Coming up in seven fifty. Jody has three things to
Know today and next. Sam has music News.

Speaker 4 (14:00):
Almost everything you need to know about getting those Beyonce
tour tickets.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
Sam's got music News brought to mobile.

Speaker 4 (14:10):
We got a lot of news on Beyonce's upcoming Cowboy
Carter tour. Cool, but I still have not been able
to find win tickets go on sale or how much
they're gonna be shed. And she announced it all over
the weekend. You may have missed this with the Grammys
and all that, but she, you know, she one day
she announced, Hey, the tours are coming, and the next
day it's like okay. So right after the Grammys she

(14:32):
announced the cities. It's going to be in right, nine
cities to start with. But in those nine cities she's
going to do twenty two shows like multiple days. Ler Chicago,
New York, London, Paris, Houston, Atlanta, d C in Vegas.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
And she was, by the way, my favorite dress at
the Grammys. And that's saying a lot. WHOA she looked fantomastic.

Speaker 4 (14:49):
So what I have done is I have signed up
for Beyonce.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
Texts okay, good.

Speaker 4 (14:54):
So really I will be the first to know, at
least according to the text, when they go on sale
or when they're going to go on sale, and how
much they're going to be.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
You think she's sending those directly to you herself, she said,
dear Sam, and it was signed why may okay.

Speaker 4 (15:06):
And by the way, these these concerts start April twenty eighth,
they go through July the eleventh. Right now, you know
she will adding them. Also, did you see Lady Gaga
premiered her new song. It's called Abracadabra.

Speaker 3 (15:24):
Oh wow. See that is like the classic original Gaga
that we first if you fell in love with it,
which I did. Yeah, my favorite coming, she said.

Speaker 4 (15:34):
And doing this album, which is called Mayhemmon will drop
March the seventh, that she kind of was going back
to the old pop days that her fans really like.
It's true the Little Monsters, how.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
She got all the monsters together, and.

Speaker 4 (15:46):
She says, if if you really want to read into
the lyrics, it's a dance battle between light and dark
sides of Gaga. Okay, okay, okay. And this Friday on
Disney Plus, we are going to get The Lion King
Live at the Hollywood Bowl.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
Lion King was a huge part of my childhood.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
This is the first time he actually sing these songs together,
and that's.

Speaker 4 (16:12):
The cool part. People from the movie, Jeremy Irons, Nathan
Lane or Nia Bella, timonin Poomba, they're all on stage
at the Hollywood Bowl singing with some of the Broadway stars.
And that's Jennifer Hudson doing can Weel? Can You Feel
the Love?

Speaker 1 (16:26):
Tonight?

Speaker 4 (16:26):
In the Circle of Life. It's going to be on
Disney Plus this Friday. It was done at the Hollywood
Bowl last year, but this is really going to be.
It's part of the thirtieth celebration of the Lion Can Excellent.

Speaker 1 (16:37):
Jody has your Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 2 (16:39):
Next the Latest Buzz Jody's Hollywood Outsider, brought to you
by All State.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
This decade's long story of Miagi Do and Cobra Kai
is finally coming to a close. And yesterday we got
the final trailer for season six, Part three.

Speaker 4 (16:57):
Part three.

Speaker 3 (16:57):
I know, I know, I know, no of Cobra. It's everybody,
Ralph Maccio, William Zabka, here you go.

Speaker 2 (17:05):
In the beginning we were enemies.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
And through the years you want to finish this.

Speaker 4 (17:14):
We've had our battles.

Speaker 3 (17:16):
Okay, it's the final chapter. It is very Look I
love then, I love the concept. There's a lot of
story here. Is it way dramatic? Yeah? Sounds like it's
way dramatic. Although major respect for the way that they
coordinate this, the fighting and the battles and the martial arts,

(17:37):
because you think these they're really doing it, and they're
probably really ninety percent doing it.

Speaker 4 (17:44):
Is the whole show that dramatic or are.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
They just I mean, yeah, I'm my experience with it,
it is. But this is the final chapter. Opinions Aside
on Netflix, February thirteenth, And everybody who was ever a
part of that, like, I mean, the character ali My
be making it again. So Cobra Kai Final, Final, Final,
February thirteenth.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
Coming up with Murphy Salmon, Jody.

Speaker 4 (18:08):
You know, it's actually easier nowadays to do Valentine's than
ever before because they're everywhere.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
That's coming up in part two of Today's Murphy, Sam
