Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Murphy Salmon Jody Daily Show Podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter and there we
get your comments. We love to dig into them.
Speaker 3 (00:10):
We had talked the other day about the correct way
to wash our hands, that many of us don't do
it correctly, even though we've been taught this since we
were little kids. It's one of the first things you're
taught is to wash your hands. And what we're not
doing right is what you guys remember.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
Doing it long enough twenty seconds or something like that.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
Twenty seconds, twenty to thirty seconds, So the next time
you wash your hands, count and being honest, the last
time I did it, after we did this whole story,
I was naturally about to stop and turn the sink
off at ten seconds, because you know you're onto the
next thing. You're going fast, you're lathering up and whatnot,
so I have been trying to slow it. Yeah, you know,
(00:53):
twenty to thirty seconds, that's one of the things we're
not and we're not also washing our hands as often
as as often as we should. Likely after going to
the bathroom, you should do it, after going to the store,
after doing any going to the doctor's office.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Watch one all the time.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
Okay, So Kimberly from our Facebook page. I wash my
hands constantly working in the food industry. It's a must,
and when I'm not working, I still do it as
I feel like it's not clean ever.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Wow, Yeah, that funny.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
You know what last night when we were at dinner,
and it's just one of these things. And I hate
to be judgmental, but you know, there was another gentleman
in the restroom same time that I was, and when
he finished, he just left. And it's like that immediately
sticks out of me. If you're going to be so
gross that you.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
Sharing the bread with somebody at the table.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
And you're in a restaurant. I know it's true. I
know he was ware. No, I thank goodness he wasn't.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Cam.
Speaker 3 (01:50):
I wash and sanitize my hands constantly, kim constantly washing
my hands, sometimes so much it drives them out. Yeah,
isn't that funny? How you get It's what you get
in the habit of doing I understand what Kimberly was
saying earlier about you know, the more you wash them,
you get used to them feeling clean, and then even
(02:12):
when they're just average, they filtered.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
I don't like sticky hands and you know you sure
for our way to know I've washed my hands. I'm
usually walking around with a paper towel in my hand.
I know. I just thought that's a habit.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
There are little wet paper towels all over the house like,
and then he'll come to hug you or touch you
and his hands are damp. But I'm glad you're clean regardless, Murph,
keep it coming.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
We love hearing from you.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
You can also join the conversation eight seven seven three
one zero four msj.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
Coming up in six fifty. Jody has three things to
Know today and next Sam has music News.
Speaker 4 (02:45):
Let you know why. Lady Gaga is going to be
performing live on Netflix later this month.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
Sam's got music news, brought to you by t Mobile.
Speaker 4 (02:56):
Lady Gaga is going to be performing live on Netflix
at the end of this month. Okay, and you're thinking,
oh wow, a whole concert. Actually no, it's going to
be part of this thing they do on Netflix. It's
where they debut all the shows for the upcoming season,
right and they call it Netflix Todum.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
You know why?
Speaker 4 (03:18):
Yeah? Okay, So Netflix Todum twenty twenty five is May
thirty first in La at the Key of Form and
they're gonna televise it live on Netflix that night, so
you'll get to see the whole cast of Stranger Things
and Wednesday and Happy Gilmour too, and then Gaga is
going to perform a couple songs as well. I'm assuming
it's because she's probably she's tied into Wednesday season two.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
She's in the season for Yeah, so some live Gaga.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
There got a release date now for Bruce Springsteen's biopick.
It's called Delivered Me from Nowhere, and it is going
to be October twenty fourth, so that puts it a
good month before all the holiday season gets.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
You know. The thing about him doing a biopick, now,
I'm glad I want it, but he's not done.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
He's nowhere near done.
Speaker 4 (04:05):
No, he's not. And the thing is, I think people
need to understand about this biopic. It's not going to
be necessarily all the cool Roos stuff, because I think
they're focusing on around the Nebraska album. You know, I
see the same reason you're laughing. It's like, oh, okay,
what about Born in the USA? That was finn Anyway,
October twenty fourth. I heard during the CinemaCon recently, they
(04:28):
played a clip of the movie that we haven't seen
a trailer of yet. Yeah, and it was God Jeremy
Allen White, who's playing Bruce, singing moren to Run at
the end of the trailer, and apparently it's amazing because
the whole crowd went nuts. I have looked all over
for this and those people didn't sneak out anything. So
as soon as that trailer comes out, I'm all right,
We're ready.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
And the end of an era.
Speaker 4 (04:50):
This past weekend in Milwaukee for mister Allen Jackson was
the last night on his tour, and he told everybody
on stage, not only is it the last night of
this tour, but this is the last road show I'm
ever gonna do no more touring. You know, he does
have that degenerative nerve condition right now that he's been
suffering for the past few years. On now, he did
(05:12):
say that was my last time on the road, but
I will. I am planning a big finale show in
Nashville next summer, So that's summer twenty twenty six. They'll
have one big final blowout coming up next.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
Jody has your Hollywood.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
Outsider trending now. Jody's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
Brought to you by Private Team Missed.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
I'm so glad to see that actor Robert Pattinson can
has really shown us that he can do almost anything.
So this movie that he started this year that was
just recently in theaters called Mickey seventeen.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
Wow, did you see that this is him? Was a
surprise if you were thinking at this point, what have
I done? That's him as I like him.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
He worked his whole voice for this, not just the mannerisms.
He became this person. It's an offbeat sci fi comedy.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
Okay. He stars as Mickey.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
Barnes, an expendable worker who literally dies on the job
and then keeps coming back eighteen more times in space.
So it's apparently it did really well because it's so
different and unexpected, and apparently he's hysterical in this.
Speaker 4 (06:19):
So Robert park that voice, it sounds like, yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
Okay, so you want to see this. It's dropping on
Friday on HBO Max.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
Oh right, and then then you excited about that Sambios
fellow time gotten.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
In the HBO's the next day on the twenty fourth
HBO Max and then HBO two separate channels whatever, so
you can catch that Mickey seventeen. The other news for
Robert is this he's starring alongside Denzel Washington and Daisy
Edgar Jones in a movie that'll be on Netflix called
Here Comes the Flood, about a bank guard plotting with
a master thief to steal a bunch of money.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Coming up next, The way to get rid of a
migraine apparently may be waiting for you in the McDonald's
drive through.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
If you've ever suffered from a migraine, you automatically want
to hear what works for other people who suffer, Right.
If there's a hack that you hear about, you want
to know about it. I've been lucky to never have
had a migrain headache in my life.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
Yeah, but I know people who do.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
Have a friend who has them, and when she has
them coming on, she will leave work and go home, yeah,
and get in bed.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
The only thing close that I've had of that is
when I started having those little neck things in the back,
which has been taking care of the oblasions now, but
the pain in the neck, but yeah, that pain in
the neck, it would become such a headache that was
I don't know that it was migrain like or not.
But that's the closest I've ever had to it.
Speaker 4 (07:39):
You, Sam, I've never had one. One of my exes
used to have them all the time.
Speaker 2 (07:43):
Yeah, and how did she handle it?
Speaker 4 (07:45):
Usually lights off in bed and she had some kind
of prescription too, right, was more of a pain in
the neck.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
Okay for you, I'm glad you made the joke because
I was going to say, what did you do?
Speaker 2 (07:57):
Divorce you?
Speaker 1 (07:59):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
There is a viral migrain hack, and it's a McDonald's hack.
That is, it's viral right now, and they do say
that for some people who suffer these bad headaches. It
is a temporary it's a short term relief and a
lot of people are swearing by it, and there's a
medical reason. So it's the order is a large coke,
sugar coke, not diyet, a large coke and a large
(08:24):
fries and the reason and it sounds delicious.
Speaker 4 (08:27):
Who put idea McDonald's.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
Actually it was first on TikTok.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
It's a migraine hack, doesn't mean it's going to work
for everybody, doesn't mean it's a long term solution. It's
just a shot if you need some short term relief
where you can get a prescription or an appointment or whatever. Supposedly,
it's the combo of the high salt and high caffeine
content of that combo. And I will say this, My
mom has had headaches a lot in her life, not just.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
Murphy, just her son in law.
Speaker 3 (08:57):
Yeah, and one of the only things is one of
the only things that works for her. You know what,
This is Murphy et cetern and it has caffeine. Yeah,
and she thinks that's one of the reasons it works.
Speaker 1 (09:09):
I don't know, I don't. I don't remember what the
term is for that. It's a transporter, it's a something,
it's a catalyst or whatever. There are a lot of
medicines that have caffeine as an addition, and it's to
combo that works.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
So that's what they're saying.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
The McDonald's migrain hack is the combo of the salt
and the caffeine.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
Interesting though, I don't can't imagine a large coke and
French fries being a long term solution.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
Short term hack coming up next. Three Things to Know Today.
Three things to Know.
Speaker 4 (09:38):
Today brought to you by a State Farm.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
Number one the trial of hip hop mogul Sean Diddy
Colms began its second week yesterday. Of course, he's facing
some serious charges trafficking and rocketeering. A former assistant testified yesterday,
you know, discussing the alleged behavior, including that ex girlfriend
Cassie Ventura had once told him the assistant I can't
get out, hinting that she felt trapped. This trial during
(10:03):
a lot of attention every day, and it will continue today.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
Testimony continues today. Number two the makers.
Speaker 3 (10:10):
Of Blue Bunny and Halo Top ice cream issuing a
recall over plastics contamination.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
I know, it's so crazy.
Speaker 3 (10:19):
Twenty two different products possibly could it's a voluntary recall,
could contain some plastics. So it's like eighteen thousand three
gallon tubs of Blue Bunny, Halo Top Bomb pop ice cream,
even some frozen yogurt. You know, check your check the
website to see what you have in your freezer that
you might have to toss.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
So sad to do it, but be careful.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
And number three loving this Today is National Rescue Dog Day.
The SPCA says that three million dogs are brought to
animal shelters every year and about two million are adopted.
It's the place to look if you're looking for a
new best friend. But if you can't adopt right now,
you can still volunteer and help out at any shelter.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
You're in the No.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
Three thanks to know today day.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
Of all the things you do when you're in the shower,
apparently the order in which you do them is important.
I've never thought about this before, and of course I'm
doing something wrong. According to dermatologist, the first thing you
should do when you step into the shower, if you're
gonna going to wash your hair, which I almost always do,
you wash your hair first.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
Yes, oh you got that one, Sam congrass.
Speaker 4 (11:25):
So the first thing I do when I get in
the shower is release all tension. When that water hits you,
you just.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
Go, ah, you sure do? I need to wash my
hair now, Murphy? And what order do you do? I think?
Speaker 1 (11:37):
I know, I mean, I mix it up it. Washing
your hair makes sense to me because if you do
that last, you're gonna wash dirt back down your body
again that you've already done. But I mean you too.
I washed my hair twice, so I mean it's it's
just in the same shower. Oh yeah, yeah, always, that's
what the bottle shows.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
Yeah, I always wash my face first, body, then I'll
wash my hair then I shave, and so anyway, the
word is wash your hair first because it gives the
shampoon conditioner more time to work their magic number one.
And you know it gives you a chance to rinse
it away. And if it's not just the dirt but
(12:16):
you the shampoon conditioner. You don't want that to stick
to your body on your back when you wash it away.
You want the shower bathing your body later to wash
that off too. Okay, you say step two, lather your
body with that's when you bathe with soap. Okay, And
you don't overscrub because then you're gonna dry your skin out.
Five to ten minutes in the shower is all you're
(12:37):
supposed to do for skin. Tell that because you can
strip your skin's natural barrier.
Speaker 4 (12:43):
Or whatever one of those is that Okay?
Speaker 2 (12:46):
I think it's great. It's like an x FOLI.
Speaker 4 (12:48):
I mean, that's not stripping anything away.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
As long as you're not just the dead skin cells. Yeah,
that's your that's you know, your youthful look there, Sam, that's.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
Why you look so youthful. Step three then shave. See
so shaving last shave.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
I don't shave in the shower.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
I do, but apparently because your skin is softer, it's
been under the water longer, and so your hair follicles
are more open and more.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
Ready to be shaved.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
See, less likely to cut yourself and all that kind
of good stuff. So the order being, wash your hair first,
then lather your body with the soap and use whatever
you want, a loofa or a splingy or whatever you
called it. And then step three would be then to shave.
And remember the total time is supposed to be five
to ten minutes. The longer you shower you strip your
(13:33):
skin of those oils. You can you know, increase eggzma
and itchiness.
Speaker 4 (13:37):
Oh so even just sitting there and relaxing in the water,
it's too much.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
It makes you happy. Just do it. I'm just telling
you what to hermatologists say.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
Coming up at seven fifty, J has three things to
know today.
Speaker 3 (13:47):
Coming out next though, frozen lemonade, homemade lemonade, and much more.
We're gonna launch it for you. Cool Summer Eats It's
time boys, or Cool Summer Eat twenty twenty five.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
I guess that's true. The unofficial kickoff of summer's next Monday.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
Yes, it's this coming weekend.
Speaker 3 (14:07):
So we're gonna add some new stuff this year, of
course to all of our summer recipes at Murphysalmonjody dot com.
But I do want to kick it to the classics
at the top. Homemade lemonade can't go wrong, just a
few ingredients, using real lemons and sugar water. You can
sell it kids well, as long as your mom and
dad say it's okay.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
If you yes, sell it right.
Speaker 4 (14:28):
You can also drink it.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
In the neighborhood.
Speaker 3 (14:31):
Frozen lemonade as well, frosted lemonade, which is where you
use fresh lemonade. It's better not to use powder here.
And the other ingredient vanilla ice cream. That's how you
do it. You can even add concentrated lemonade, the frozen
kind to it. It's really frosty and really summery.
Speaker 4 (14:48):
You put it in the freezer.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
You don't have to say you put the.
Speaker 4 (14:51):
Ice cream in.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
You don't have to you put the ice that would.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
Probably turn it into a solid block. You want it
to be drinkable like sort of the way Chick fil
a does it.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
Yes, right, Sorry, you can go to Chick fil agg
you can make it yourself. It's fun kids doing stuff
in the kitchen.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
But think about like a pint of vanilla ice cream
and the frozen concentrated lemonade. You mix that together however
you like it very lemony or just a smidge, Oh
my gosh, it's so good.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
Let it and Murphy's right.
Speaker 3 (15:21):
You want to drink it with a straw, so let
it sort of melt into shake like form. And then
my other favorite recipe, and it's all lemons, because lemons
were made for summer. There's more at cool summer eats
than lemon but lemonade dip.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
Have you guys ever made that?
Speaker 3 (15:37):
You can serve at pool side, but like gram crackers
and kids will eat it up. Three ingredients cream cheese,
softened softened marshmallow cream and a fourth of a cup
of lemonade drink.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
Mix like the powder.
Speaker 3 (15:53):
Okay, whichever kind you want, you mix that up to
and it makes a really nice summer dip. You can
dip fruit in it, or crackers or anything like.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
Don't leave it in the sun. But yes, it's a
good summer dip.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
Thank you mister saying yeah, you know cool summer eats.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
Everything there for the Grill as well all those recipes
at Murphysamon jody dot.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
Com Trending now Jody's Hollywood.
Speaker 4 (16:16):
Outsider, brought to you by Private See Miss.
Speaker 3 (16:19):
Some big news in the world of children's entertainment in
that Sesame Street along with Pepa Pig moving to new
homes on Netflix later this season.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
This is a big deal.
Speaker 3 (16:34):
So Sesame Street will still premiere and run on PBS
and PBS Kids on the day the episode drops, but
it's also going to live at Netflix and they've reimagined
some of it. You're going to get more. You'll get
the classic Sesame Street that you want and the super
popular Pepa Pig, but they're going to reimagine it because
they can, because they're Netflix. It's going to come along
(16:55):
with games as well, a new mobile game for Sesame Street,
one called World to Pepa Pig.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
Okay, so we know that's coming.
Speaker 3 (17:04):
And for Sesame Street, they're gonna do some different new
animated segments that are like eleven minutes no longer.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
I'm thinking that's in the world.
Speaker 4 (17:11):
Of when they had that deal with HBO. It's like
HBO got to show Sesame Street and then they had
to wait a couple of weeks for it to be
on PBS. Correct, But now it's all gonna be Same
Day again.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
Yeah, it's gonna run on PBS and PBS Kids same day,
dropping it the same day, but it will live and
they'll do some classic favorites also, like Elmo's World.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
So you'll at least it's not gone.
Speaker 3 (17:31):
That's good, right, You'll just have a whole section of
Netflix that's Peppa and a whole section of Netflix that's
Sesame Street.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
And it's the fifty sixth season and it should drop
later this year. Coming up with Murphy, Sam and Jody
being corrected.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
We are I sound like Yoda. We are being corrected
on the after the show podcast from the other day.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
So we'll do that next
