Regarding micro weddings, this is from Deanna. I heard your
segment on the show about micro weddings. My now husband
and I got married May twenty four, twenty twenty four, okay,
last year at a winery. It was the very first

place he took me on a date. We got married
with eleven of our closest family and friends by a
three tiered waterfall in a courtyard. We went inside and
had dinner at the restaurant. They had an area blocked
off for us that overlooked the river even and they
even set up a table for our cake. It was
intimate and beautiful. We wanted something sweet and small, and

it was perfect. We had so many compliments from our
guests about how elegant it was, and that they enjoyed
being able to be there and give us their attention
during dinner.

Ooh, that's true. You have a huge wedding.

You might not even get to speak to the bride
right happily married, And I wanted to share this is
from Deanna.

Well, congrats Diana. That's great.

Yeah, that's another reason that makes it special for them. Really,
at the end of the day, the people getting married,
the two people getting married, are the ones who need
to enjoy the day.

It is their day. You hear that from wedding planners.

But the reason we brought this up in the first
place is because our oldest Taylor works at an event
place and she coordinates weddings and does all that stuff
all the time. And she told me the brides are
never a problem, the grooms are never a problem.

She said, it's mom Zilla's.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
She said that, so, remember, moms want everything to be
perfect on that day.
Speaker 4 (02:04):
Well, I told you, they're paying for it.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
I told Taylor, it's possible that a mom who is
used to sort of taking care of a lot of
details in this kid's life. It's also one of the
last things that she might feel like she's going to
have a part in one of the last big things
she'll do for you. That might be a reason for
the behavior.

Also, remember that's their baby girl or baby boy.

It's a difficult, it's it's just easier when you do

not just micro weddings, even if you're throwing a big,
huge one. Here's what people are seeing. Okay, this is
one of my favorites. Bridesmaids in pantsuits instead of dresses
and a power suit on a lady.

That's cool. I don't know that I've ever seen that
in a wedding pick before. No, but that's a good
I mean, it's a good idea.

If it works for somebody, it really works because it
looks good when there's a group of women together and
they're all in different colored power suits. We know this
from Phoebe and her friends. They did power suit prom
a couple.

Of years ago.

Yeah, awesome, they just coordinated.

Phoebe wore red, you know, there was a green power
suit and they were they those girls looked so awesome
and I Phoebe even said that when she walked into
the room for her it was like her senior prom.
She felt She said, she felt powerful and she felt
more confident than she would have in like a princess dress.
So you do you whether it's your wedding or a

prom or whatever. So bridesmaids in pantsuits, it's never going
out of styles. Not new, but it's even it's gaining
traction to have a grandparent as part of your ceremony.

Like you know, the bride'smaid being grandmother.

That's what my mom is going to be for my
niece's wedding later this year. She's the grandmother, but she's
also the flower girl. That is, she's the one that's
going to be throwing the rose petals walking down.

The ais is miss Judy excited about that.

Oh yeah good. I don't know if she'll put a
little flare into it or just throw them, who knows.

Of course she's got flair.

Floral arrangements minus the flowers. I know it's a head scratcher,
but I'm gonna explain. You can mix up center pieces,
they don't all have to match, and floral arrangements flowers
for weddings and receptions.

It's an expense.

It's a bigger expense than you realize until you start
planning something like that.

Nothing wrong with that if that's the expense that you
want to.

Correct, but if you are trying to save a little money,
they say. They're saying you're seeing arrangements with some flowers
mixed with other things, fruits, even lot of people are
skipping flowers altogether and doing like succulents or tropical plants.
You self, something living and beautiful and decorative, but it's
not an actual flower flower arrangements. Those are trends for

No, it's the sweetest, softest, little round, squishy thing. They
have sweet faces, some of them are.

You would probably like one if your pillow situation. Oh yeah,
you're fort of pillows that you make around yourself.

Well, you can just snuggle it a little.

It's about it's a small pillow size.

No, we don't have little little kids. They're really cute.

They look like little pillows, honestly, and they're very soft.
They're very squishy. The word is though a lot of
parents are learning the hard way. If you got squish
mellows in your life at Christmas time, you're learning, Hey,
the kids carry them around and drag them on the
ground and drool on them and all that, and you
want to clean them, and you can't put them in
the washing machine. The stuffing, all of it, the texture

will get completely jacked up.

If you put them in the in the washing I bet.

They turn into like a forty pound bowling ball full
of water.

I wash my dog toys and they don't get weird.

you know yesterday was bagging me, blowing up my phone
that for me to buy her some vodka.

For a six year old.

Hey, she's nineteen. This is a birthday in a couple
of weeks.

But she really needed some vodka because she for Christmas,
she was this is the most exciting thing she got
in a white elephant, not white elephant secret Santa, think
we do. She got a Chinese pickling jar, Chinese pickles,
and I didn't know about them.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
It's a very old world style of brining and fermenting
pickles or any vegetables, right exactly. And so it's not
like a jar with a lid that clasps shut with
a you know, vacuum seal. It's old school. You have
two lids, one that has a lip you put water in,
and so just physics by itself keeps the air from getting.

In, like you have to keep water on it so
that it's the weight of it keeps its seals.

Sounds high maintenance to me.

She's making the brine, is that what you call She's
making that, and she needed vodka for it, and some
other things that she needed aren't like spices. You know,
she went to the Asian market and got all kinds
of special spices.

So those he's like vinegar and all the spices.

I think it's well, that's in the true fermentation process.
I don't think has to involve vinegar. And I don't
know enough about that. This is the first time I've
ever heard about vodka. I mean, you know, I remember
my dad making excuses about the reasons he needed scotch.

Yeah, but you know, my dad made pickles all the time.

But whatever this is, you know, that's how it begins,
the fermentation process, and then the alcohol part goes away, right,
But the brine itself, if you may manage it, the
tradition here is it will go in fifty one hundred,
one hundred and fifty years. You can keep the same brine.

And so she could not wait.

She was literally blowing up my phone because she had
bought the vegetables. She had been to the Asian market
to get the spices, and I think whatever else she needed,
and she just needed the vodka.

And I'm like, okay, Thiebes, my gosh, I'm busy, but yes,
and so we Taylor and I went and Taylor went
in and got her some vodka.

are like what the store brand think whatever turns into
sugar or whatever it is. I don't know if the
different qualities.

I don't Phoebe didn't specify specific quality, and I can't
remember because Taylor is the one that walked in and
got it. But the vegetables, I was hoping for a
cucumber in there, so it would be pickle like in
three to five months when she can finally open it,
because I know she put it together last night, but
she did carrots.

And green beans and one other thing. No cucumbers in
the area.

It beans will be fun.

the kids carry them around and drag them on the
ground and drool on them and all that, and you
want to clean them, and you can't put them in
the washing machine. The stuffing, all of it, the texture

will get completely jacked up.

If you put them in the in the washing I bet.

They turn into like a forty pound bowling ball full
of water.

I wash my dog toys and they don't get weird.

are jumping on over to another app called red Note. Yeah,

that for me to buy her some vodka.

Hey, she's nineteen. This is a birthday in a couple
of weeks.

But she really needed some vodka because she for Christmas,
she was this is the most exciting thing she got
in a white elephant, not white elephant secret Santa, think
we do. She got a Chinese pickling jar, Chinese pickles,
and I didn't know about them.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
It's a very old world style of brining and fermenting
pickles or any vegetables, right exactly. And so it's not
like a jar with a lid that clasps shut with
a you know, vacuum seal. It's old school. You have
two lids, one that has a lip you put water in,
and so just physics by itself keeps the air from getting.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
In, like you have to keep water on it so
that it's the weight of it keeps its seals.
Speaker 1 (11:27):
Sounds high maintenance to me.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
She's making the brine, is that what you call She's
making that, and she needed vodka for it, and some
other things that she needed aren't like spices. You know,
she went to the Asian market and got all kinds
of special spices.
Speaker 4 (11:41):
So those he's like vinegar and all the spices.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
I think it's well, that's in the true fermentation process.
I don't think has to involve vinegar. And I don't
know enough about that. This is the first time I've
ever heard about vodka. I mean, you know, I remember
my dad making excuses about the reasons he needed scotch.

Yeah, but you know, my dad made pickles all the time.

But whatever this is, you know, that's how it begins,
the fermentation process, and then the alcohol part goes away, right,
But the brine itself, if you may manage it, the
tradition here is it will go in fifty one hundred,
one hundred and fifty years. You can keep the same brine.
Oh cool.

And so she could not wait.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
She was literally blowing up my phone because she had
bought the vegetables. She had been to the Asian market
to get the spices, and I think whatever else she needed,
and she just needed the vodka.

She can't buy it.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
And I'm like, okay, Thiebes, my gosh, I'm busy, but yes,
and so we Taylor and I went and Taylor went
in and got her some vodka.
Speaker 4 (12:39):
Now what kind did you get? Just top of the line,
are like what the store brand think whatever turns into
sugar or whatever it is. I don't know if the
different qualities.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
I don't Phoebe didn't specify specific quality, and I can't
remember because Taylor is the one that walked in and
got it. But the vegetables, I was hoping for a
cucumber in there, so it would be pickle like in
three to five months when she can finally open it,
because I know she put it together last night, but
she did carrots.
Speaker 3 (13:06):
And green beans and one other thing. No cucumbers in
the area.
Speaker 4 (13:09):
It beans will be fun.

little sandwich yourself. Oh really, the top of the butter
or something is supposed to taste like a chicken many
supposed to.

Yeah, a little cumbersome, but yeah.

Oh yeah. Or you could drive through and just say
Jimmy ten. You can also get twelve chocolate brudge fudge
brownies or six chocolate chunk cookies. Nice, which, of course
we go back to the thirty count.

You could show up with that on Valentine's Day. It's cute.
