Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Murphy Salmon Jody Daily Show podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Sam Scott Music News.
Speaker 3 (00:07):
Hey, we all know who Benson Boone is, right, of course,
think that I've got But did you know that Benson
Boone was once on American Idol?
Speaker 2 (00:15):
I did not.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
I didn't know it either. It came up this week
Monday Night on American Idol.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
It was a duet he did five years ago when
he was on the show. It hadn't been aired before,
but he did a duet of a song by Lauren Daigel.
You want to hear it? Yes, here we go.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
I would I care for the thing?
Speaker 3 (00:38):
You see stroll?
Speaker 2 (00:41):
I think guy had the chos then too, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
He did. That's pretty it's scripted. It's the scripted singing.
Sound any screaming in that one? No, Well, and he
didn't have the mustache then. And here's what Katie Perry said,
I like to see.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
American Idol and I see you, but I see you
winning American Idol.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
If you want me, Well, yeah, well here's what happened.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
He won a lot more than American Idol.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
It did get sent on to Hollywood Week, but he
decided later on to pull out of the competition. He
wasn't voted out. Yeah, And the reason they showed that
this week is that the person he do edited with,
Mary Joe Young, is back on the show this ys
Combining again. She got kicked off then because she forgot
the lyrics to the song they were saying. But she's
back on there now and they're like, hey, I remember
(01:23):
when you were here five years ago.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
My Guinness So.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
They did that. Pit Bull and his fans, they're trying
to set a Guinness World record.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
I'll help.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
I think he would.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
Enjoy doing this. I don't know if you've seen videos
of this, but people that go to Pitbull concerts, the
fans sometimes they wear the bald cast I know it.
So he's doing Hyde Park in Britain coming up in July.
So they're going to try to break a Guinness World
record of the most people of bald caps showing up
at this concert.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
It'll happen. It'll happen, and.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
Pit Bull is all about it. By the way, Kesha
is going to be joining it. Yes, And if for
any reason you want to go, Garth Brook, Lewis, Capaldi,
Maroon five and Mumford and Sun's also going to be
at Hyde Park this summer's.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
Cap right, you know what, why not support the pit? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (02:09):
Who knows? Little eighties flashback for you from TAPO.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
I used to blare this in my room and I
loved it.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
Number four in nineteen eighty seven.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Well, guess what, to Paul is back because.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
Because their kids are grown up, they're back and they
got back together about ten years ago, put out an
album and they've done nothing since. But they decided, you
know what, now's the time eighties acts are hot. Let's
get out.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
There, sweet coming up at six fifty three Things to
know today, But next, what our personal mental health professional
says about taking breaks from social media? Sam. When I
say Murphy and I have our own personal mental health professional,
you do know who I'm talking.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
About, Uh, your daughter Taylor, our.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
Oldest daughter, Taylor. That's right, she is. And by the way,
nothing inappropriate. I don't do that to her. I don't say, hey,
come over and help me with my mental health. I
would never do that. You know, she is our daughter,
and you know I have a parent child relationship with her.
But she is well, she.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
Is in that phase where because she's so excited because
she's in the master's program right now, she willingly shares
all the things that she's learning, which is awesome.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
If she stops by just to pick up something that
used to be in her room at the house, she's
dropping on us some of the cool classes she's been to,
group therapy exercises that she learned.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
One of them.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
I told her, please bring this to Thanksgiving.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
She even told me once she said, Dad, I think
you have a touch of ADHD and it's touched. I'm sorry,
what did you say.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
That's funny because she had a different discussion with me
about it when you were there. Anyway, No, just joking,
but she no, you're not. She she really is all
about mental health and it's so interesting to spend time
with her and talk to her about those things that
when she brings stuff up. And I don't remember what
(04:02):
we were talking about the other day, but she told
Murphy and I together, Yeah, I deleted my TikTok for now.
She said, I just got tired of being marketing all
the time. It doesn't feel social anymore. It feels like
I'm being marketed to all the time.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
She also said, it's the scrolling, you know, just like
anybody else. You know, you just kind of keep going
and going and going endless.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
She also brought up a really big point. She's like,
I was sick of she probably looked up something once
that was something related to diet or exercise, and then
all that she was getting fed, and she thought other
girls younger than me are seeing this where it's everything
is about trying to look a certain way, or you know,
if you this imperfection, you need to eat this, or
if you're in a calorie definitive, and it's just like that,
(04:45):
if that's the message, if that's the only message that
a young girl is getting, she says, that's really bad
for mental health. So she just turns it off when
she needs to do that. And it's a good idea
if something is feeling a certain way to you. Who
says you have to go down that rabbit.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
Hole you don't trust your gut.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
Coming up next, Jody's got your Hollywood.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
Outsider Trending Now, Jody's Hollywood Outsider a little bit more
info rolling in about the new version reboot of Pirates
of the Caribbean Death. What we know is that Johnny
Depp will not be a part of it. Johnny Depp
is busy doing this scary, dark version of the Scrooge
(05:26):
movie that we're getting in December of this year, like
being a very scary Scrooge. And you can see that.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
He's probably ready to move on with it anyway, right,
I mean, he's done his time with it.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
I suppose, but the Pirate's probably still paying him, is
what I'm thinking as an artist. Yeah, So the word
is director Jerry Bruckheimer. I know you know his name
was that one of the Oscar nominee lunches this week
and let it slip. He wasn't supposed to, but he
let it slip that the next story version of this
will be about Jack Sparrow's son that will be a
(05:56):
new character. And then also Margot Robbie is a tack
to it. I'd heard that to play something important. I'm
thinking let her be the lead. Please. Here's here's another
little thing from a Fathom Entertainment. They're doing some big
screen classic film series in theaters again, so twelve different movies,
old movies like Citizen Kane will be in theaters. This
(06:17):
all starts this spring in March. Maltese Falcon and Silence
of the Lambs. Doctor lect your My name is Clarice
Starling to speak with you if you can handle that
on the big screen again, We'll remind you when it
all happens in March.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
Coming up next. If you're traveling anytime soon, will help
you avoid one temptation that may be in your hotel room.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
Subscribe to our YouTube channel and you get some behind
the scenes and also take us along when it's convenient
for you. It's the Murphy, Sam and Jody Podcast.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
And I'm traveling, you know, as you know, Jody, because
you know.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
You weren't there last night.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
I thought, I'm not there in a bed with you,
that's right. So you know you and Sam are and
where you usually are. And I'm on the road, which
means I'm in a hotel room, which means in this
case actually have the honor system kind of what do
you Why can't I think of what's in the in
room snacks and all that.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
Yeah, you eat them, but if you eat them, you pay.
I don't know what it's called called an honor run.
Maybe it is an honor bar.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
Some people call it that. But you know the thing is, yeah,
these and here's the thing. Most of the things on
the shelf are not Walmart prices.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
No.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
Yeah, just like you know, a little bit more expensive.
But in this particular hotel that I'm staying in, not
only do they have the refrigerated you know, SODA's and
all that and the snacks, but they have alcohol in
the room. And so Sam, of course you and I
don't drink, Yeah, and I have it. The last drink
I had was March the night I'm sorry, May nineteen
(07:44):
twenty eleven. And uh so I walk in last night
and I'm looking at it again now it doesn't bother me,
So I'm not going to succumb to temptation here. But
just so that you know, there's a bottle of King
of State Peanut Noir. There's John Jack, there's Kettle One
Tanga ray Ever Sky vodka. Yeah, I mean it's like
and it's the tiny bottles by the way.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
Not yeah, that's a lot. That's a lot in one
little room.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
And I'm guessing if you wanted to book a room
and request no alcohol that they would probably do that
for you. They probably remove the alcohol. But you know,
it's not something that occurs to me because most hotels
I stay at don't have this wonderful I'm curious.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
So it's the little airline tiny bottles. Oh yeah, right,
So what's the price they're going right for those? Oh
they cost the same as the big bottles. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
I think I mean, I think it's like ten twelve bucks.
I'm seriously, it's like, yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah, it's not
a cheap drink, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
Yeah, you're saving money, and you're saving a hassle, you're
saving a slip up anyway and money. But you could
always indulge in the other things like nine dollars cashews
or whatever. That's what that honor bar thing is.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
Well, I got to tell you this seven dollars bottle
of water is pretty okay.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
All right, coming up next, Three things to know today.
Here's three things to know today. Number One, Overnight as
you slept, YouTube was restored and everything's working fine again.
Maybe you didn't realize it that late yesterday there were
parts of the US, Canada, England, Brazil, even Germany that
(09:18):
had this YouTube blackout where videos wouldn't load, and those
who are subscribers were upset because the ads still played.
But everything's been fixed and there's no comment on what happened,
but you're back. Number two for small businesses who still
take cash. A lot of owners are confused about the
penny thing because you know, pennies are not being made anymore,
(09:41):
but they are still in circulation and you can still
use them, of course, and take them. So when do
you round up? When do you round down? Because certain
businesses are not sure and they want to be consistent
with other businesses for their customers. There's a new bill
that's setting some guidelines. If it's two pennies, you round down.
If it's three, you round up. Let's all remember that
(10:02):
is that what's just not too hard? That is what
you thought to start right? And number three Today is
ash Wednesday, the start of Lent, that solemn forty day
period before the week of Easter. Today is supposed to
be to be a deep day of reflection and the
ashes serve as a reminder of mortality. It's also the
start of Ramadan, thirty days of fasting and reflection. You're
(10:26):
up to date. Three things to know today, Murphy. There's
something I want to do at the house, and I
know you want to object. I hope you don't make
fun of it along with Sam here, but I want
to do something we've never done before in all of
our years of being dog owners. I want to throw
(10:47):
a birthday party for Champ. Dog birthday parties are day.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
Yeah, that's that is sweet that we've thought about that.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
Okay, I realized it's February. We got him in February
of twenty seventeen, and we rescued him, he rescued us.
We determined along with the vet that he was four
years old then, so that makes him do the matter.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
Yeah, he's almost he's almost thirteen.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
He almost thirteen years old, and you and I have
both you know, changes in him recently.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
Yeah, he is. And that's why I'm hoping he'll be
awake for his birthday party because he seems to sleep
a lot. You know.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
So what do you do at a dog birthday party?
Speaker 2 (11:25):
Whatever you want?
Speaker 3 (11:26):
I mean, there's no pen, the tail on the donkey
or any of that stuff.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
No, I don't even think I can get him to
keep a hat on his sweet little head.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
You've got a couple of games you could get played,
Chase the kitty cat. That's a big fun. Dog gave
us that.
Speaker 3 (11:39):
Yeah, your mom can bring the cats.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
You could bring your cats out?
Speaker 3 (11:43):
Oh yeah, do.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
You want to share like the pictures? We can do
but you know all of the photos we've had over
the years of him on the hub.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
Yes, because there's so many sweet photos of him when
he did not have any you know, gray on his face,
and now his face is so there's so much white there,
you know, and he's just so He's changed so so much,
but he still has the heart of a puppy. But
we just love him so much. Taylor and Phoebe, they'll
be invited. They'll invite their boyfriends. I feel like we'll
have little treats for everybody. But I want him to
(12:10):
have a safe for a dog, little birthday cake, and
I want him to be able to eat it.
Speaker 3 (12:15):
Are you inviting other dogs?
Speaker 2 (12:16):
No, he doesn't like that. I mean, Sparky'll be Thereoo.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
That's almost his sidekick. Well, you know what, I think,
that's sweet, Jody. The only other change over his face
is he's become quite gassy, so we should be careful
about the kid.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
I knew you were going to do that.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
It's a pento bean cake.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
Yeah, help it. I don't know what's going on, but
he does sleep thirteen hours a day. You know. He
makes a lot of noises lately. I'm hoping we're hoping
he's not uncomfortable and all of that, but not only
just want to make him very comfortable in his old age.
I want to celebrate him. Was he was literally our
favorite rescue ever, which is saying a lot. He still is.
I hope he lives a long long time. But he
(12:56):
is thirteen years old and the day, the day his
life I've started was with us in February of twenty seventeen. Right,
so it's his birthday this month.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
Are you gonna have a sparky birthday party too?
Speaker 1 (13:09):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
Can't he just enjoys Champs.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
Party coming up?
Speaker 1 (13:14):
At seven fifty. Jody has three things to know today
and next the morning pick.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
Me up morning pick me up time. And instead of
just like an inspiring story, how about a pick you
up when you're in a funk. Things that you can
do We can all benefit from knowing, like what to
do when you're in a funk. You're gonna get in
a funk in life, I mean sometimes it lasts for days,
hopefully not, but little things that you can do.
Speaker 3 (13:40):
I can tell therapy works for me me too.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
Sometimes you shouldn't spend a bunch of money that could
make a situation worse.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
You know, Actually, it's that's putting a band aid. That's
not what's really We're not going to recommend retail therapy,
although I do love it too fun. Okay, putting screens
away is on the list, you know, not digging in
going into rabbit holes on a screen. That's also a
band aid. Here's one that you'll like. Murphy did this
the other day and was remarking about how good it
(14:09):
felt decluttering one small space.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
Oh yeah, the top of my dresser was just awful,
because you know, anything you use every day eventually starts
to clutter up, and it's crazy how cathartic it is.
It's like clean space again. Yeah, top of dressers?
Speaker 3 (14:24):
Did it make you want to do more and you're
just like, that's enough for now?
Speaker 1 (14:28):
Yeah? I did the nightstand right an.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
It was good though, because that was right before you
were packing for this trip that you're on, and I
thought that was really good. I didn't understand why there
was a tool there were tools involved at one point
he was doing up in his closet or above your dresser.
There was some sort of.
Speaker 1 (14:45):
Well I was installing hooks.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
Okay, a little.
Speaker 3 (14:47):
Bit more than while you're supposed to being installing hooks.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
So but ways to get out of a funk that
actually worked putting screens away, We mentioned decluttering one small space.
Do a brain dump journaling session, meaning just write a
bunch of stuff out, get it out of your body
and your heart, put it on page.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
You know.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
That doesn't even have to be full sentences either, they say.
Sometimes it's just like a couple of words because journal. Yeah.
I mean sometimes if you're not really into the whole
long form thing, it can be a little fatiguing and
then you don't want to do it. But just a
couple of bullets to get it out of your brain
is helpful.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
Okay. Other ways to beat get yourself out of a
fucking beat it. Play some upbeat music, put your earbuds in,
I mean like this.
Speaker 3 (15:33):
The top and man Hellen does it every time.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
Oh cool, connect with someone, take a nature walk. And
then the final recommendation is do one of those reset
sensory showers, like a dark shower, or just take a
hot shower and recat I do that.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
The reset of just breathe and count three times helps.
Speaker 2 (15:54):
Coming up next, your Hollywood Outsider Jody's Hollywood Outsider Star
Wars fans, I hope you know this already. I don't
know why you haven't watched this yet, Sam, but we
got a full trailer for the Mandalorian and Grogu yesterday.
I don't even know what's going on, but it's fantastic.
Never touched the buttons.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
It's good.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
From the music to the scenery, it looks incredible. Pedro
Pascal is back under the helmet.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
I can use some information. Well, for this price, I'll
tell you whatever you want.
Speaker 3 (16:24):
I'm looking for a hut close for the night, thank you,
looking for a hut hik you.
Speaker 1 (16:29):
Centuries beyond me. I won't always be around to protect
him this trailer.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
I don't know anything about this world. I don't know
what he's doing, what he's looking for, but it looks incredible.
The best of the old Star Wars stuff that you are.
Speaker 3 (16:47):
It has the look of the old Star Wars completely.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
And but all this new story there's heart, there's action,
there's wars.
Speaker 3 (16:55):
And there's humor too, because that don't touch the buttons
and stuff. That goes back to the series Grogu. The
first time Brogu got our baby, Yoda gotten his spaceship
he was touching all the buttons.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
Do you want a refresher go back and watch the series.
But this movie is in theaters May twenty second. There
are some fun surprises in the trailer. I won't spoil
it for you. Go watch the full trailer. Is there
the Mandalorian and Grogu.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
By the way. Next it is Keep the Wow Wednesday.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
Let's keep the Wild Wednesday. We want to hear about
your personal wows. We will clap for you and celebrate
with you, even the smallest things. You have to be
your own cheerleader in your head when you've done something right,
and keep it. That's what keep the wow is. Nora said,
might keep the wow is that at this time next year,
I will actually be an r n Awesome the nursing school.
(17:47):
And thank you.
Speaker 1 (17:47):
You've been following that journey with you.
Speaker 2 (17:49):
I know it from the time she decided, you know,
from working in the hospital to become an assistant to
go to school. So thank you for keeping us up
to date.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
And that's truly from housekeeping to our end.
Speaker 3 (18:00):
I know it.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
Awesome.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
The world needs nurses like you, And I mean I
hope I get to meet you one day, Nora. I
mean it, Lisa synth this and I know it's directed
to you. Sam.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
Okay, three words.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
Cats have feelings. That's because we I guess we were
talking about me putting feelings on our pat and you
said you actually both of you said that cats on't
have feelings.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
Yeah, we were joking. You know. The thing is Jody.
It's one of our favorite things about Jody is that
she does personalize all animals. It's not just our pets.
I remember you feeling that way about what was the
pig in that movie that you liked so much in
the early two thousands. Yeah, Jody just thought that that
was a pig with personality.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
Like that one because the pig spoke. Yeah, he actually.
Speaker 1 (18:45):
Talked, Yes, exactly.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
Animals have feelings, guys.
Speaker 3 (18:49):
Yeah, we do it to poke fun I know, but
I do know a boo has feelings. Especially since Gus
passed away, my dog, your CA's become more clinging and needy,
and you know when he wants and what he wants.
Just buy that good.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
I'm glad, and thank you Lisa for reminding me.
Speaker 3 (19:05):
That's the last time I'll say that.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
You know, Lisa, I bet it's if you think about
like the old comic strip Garfield. That's kind of the
way I guess we cats right, You know what I mean.
They're independent, they're kind of funny. It's it's fun to
personify them like that.
Speaker 2 (19:21):
A cat will love you as much as you love it.
You're in the lead with a cat, even though they
don't want you to think that. I'm here to tell it, Okay,
Andre sent this. This is for you, Murph. A good
twist for cod Murphy loves codfish, so I buy it
and make it for him. A good twist for cod
is Baja fish tacos. It's really healthy and lots of flavor.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
Good idea.
Speaker 2 (19:43):
Thank you. I'll do it. I'll test it out and
make it for Murphy soon. Keep it coming. We love
having you along. Jump in on Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, TikTok
and Murphy Samanjody dot Com coming to him next.
Speaker 1 (19:55):
Jody has three things to note today.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
Three things to know today. Number One, Costco may be
quietly cracking down on its no hassle return policy. I
don't know if you realize it, but they have the
They've had the most incredible I've been behind people in
line where I've got my receipt and I've got a
box that's never been open, and I just changed my mind.
And I was behind someone once who was returning something
(20:20):
that had been open and eaten, and they take it.
They have always had the most incredible return policy, like
no questions asked. Ever, well, now they're keeping eye and
I on those who return things frequently. And new documentation
requirements apparently coming to Costco. Number two, couples who have
the same bedtime are happier. It's better for your relationship.
(20:41):
It does make so much sense. Although most couples do
not have the same bedtime routine or do do not
go to bed at the same time, But if you
want things to be a little better and it's better
for your sleep anyway, it's better for all of it. Yeah,
try to go to bed at the same time. It
makes sense. And Number three, Winter Ami, you know the
closing ceremonies coming up this Sunday night already. Yeah, it's
(21:04):
been a couple of weeks. Tonight you can watch the
women's slalom events in alpine skiing, men's snowboard slope style final,
and the women's aerial final. You're in the note three
things to know today before you go shopping to buy
new frames for your face. You know you're supposed to
(21:26):
know your face shape, that there are certain frames that
compliment certain face shapes. Are you guys aware of that?
Speaker 3 (21:32):
Yeah? I mean you need bigger like for me my
I think not because of my fat head. I needed
a lighter and I also needed longer arms to reach
my ears.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
You do have a big head. I wouldn't call it
a fat head, but that's.
Speaker 3 (21:45):
What my mom calls it.
Speaker 1 (21:50):
Well, your mom said that nearly killed her at birth, right.
Speaker 3 (21:52):
Yeah, yeah, there's a fun story.
Speaker 2 (21:55):
Yeah, Okay. The reason I bring up the glasses in
the face shape and all of that, I was lucky
enough to be the one to take our oldest daughter, Taylor,
shopping for her first ever pair of glasses. She has
never had to wear glasses in her life. She just
went to the eye doctor and she does need a
prescription glass.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
Which way, it's for distance for driving at night, but
it's actually it's caused by computer screens and the intensity
of it because she's been doing so much coursework for
her Masters that they say that that's impacting part of it,
but it's really I guess technically near it's technically near sightedness.
Speaker 2 (22:28):
So when we arrive together, I take her shopping the
same place I buy my glasses. I'm hoping we get
the really super helpful, like fun person, and we didn't.
We got someone who barely spoke to us. And I'm
thinking this is her first time, she's not gonna want
to listen to me. But the whole face shape thing.
I even asked her, do you know that you're supposed
to really buy them to compliment your face shape? And
(22:49):
she was like okay, And I said, you know what
your face shape is, don't you. She's like, no, she
has the same shape as me, which is a heart
shape face. It's like pointed at the end.
Speaker 3 (23:01):
Oh wait a second, nor shape face, Go ahead, Murphy.
Speaker 2 (23:03):
No, no, no, it's not like.
Speaker 1 (23:04):
Yes, well you all are hard Jody, No, thank you, Sam.
Speaker 2 (23:08):
There's obel, there's round, there's square, there's diamond, and then
there's heart. So the problem was, as soon as I
realize that's her face shape, because people tell us we
have the same face shape, yeah all the time I'm
her mother, she does not want the same sort of
thing as I'm rocking, of course, So I just stayed
out of it completely, and she picked out and she
kept going back to this one pair, very dynamic pair
(23:30):
that are really really cool, and those are the ones
that she chose. But you know, it was just funny
because I realized, and who do you think she called
and face timed while we were there to get ideas.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
Her dad, her boyfriend, her sister phones.
Speaker 2 (23:43):
Okay, she wanted any help from the salesperson or me.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
Phoebe is one of those that she's kind of. She
really loves the outlandish glasses. I want to say that
dynamic statement. That's the wrong word, rep statement dynamic. I
wish I could pull that off. I just don't think
I can. Yeah, you know, every time I've tried, Jody's
always like, let's stick to the standards.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
On the way another Hollywood outsider. But next, Sam is
the food dude.
Speaker 3 (24:06):
Popeyes and Burger King bringing back a couple of fan
favorites to the menu and the kids are going to
love one of these.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
Sam's always up on the new eats. He's the food dude.
Speaker 3 (24:17):
Popeyes is bringing back fried pickles to their menu for
a limited time.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
Gosh, don't help them.
Speaker 3 (24:23):
They had them last year, but it was like within
days they were gone because it was wild supplies last
So they're bringing back all of their seafood stuff from
Lentz and fried pickles, aren't I know they're not seafood,
but they're coming back on the menu at the same
along with right.
Speaker 1 (24:36):
Now they're lin friendly. Is it the same breading that
they put on a chicken on those?
Speaker 3 (24:41):
I don't know I got I never got any last year,
but Burger Kings, Burger King is bringing that back. There
a million dollar whopper contest winner. It is the maple
bourbon barbecue whopper. It's got like three different kinds of
maple and bacon and stuff on it. But this is
the real cool one. They're bringing back chocolate milk to
(25:01):
their menu. What they got rid of chocolate milk? I
didn't know this. They got rid of chocolate milk during
COVID because it was costing them too much money. Sure
prices Skyrock chocolate milk back on the menu at Burger King.
Speaker 2 (25:12):
Man chocolate milk is just a special thing, is it
Isn't it? Uh?
Speaker 3 (25:16):
My favorite milk? Happy Duncan Hines says. A new first
of it's kind of baking mix. They are now selling
crumbles blueberry and strawberry crumble first time ever cookie bass
sweet jam fruit center, and then crispy buttery crumble topping
on top. Thirty minutes in the oven, and all it
needs is a stick of butter. Oh all you got
(25:37):
to add? Now, let's say, yeah, butter, not a half
a stick, a whole stick. And if you don't want
to deal with all that, you can go over to
Cinnabon for their new strawberry cheesecake top Cinnabon Cinnabon. Oh yeah,
it's got a smear of cheesecake frosting, a swirl of
strawberry pure and then strusle topping on top of that.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
There's something I don't let myself happen very much. Yeah,
you know, I don't like donuts, but I do like
cinnamon rolls warm. Like if I was ever going to
want something sweet in the morning, it would be a
warm cinnamon roll. We stay away from them.
Speaker 3 (26:10):
Do you think all the for the time, all the
cinnamon smelling the mall is actually from the cooking or
do you think they're like.
Speaker 2 (26:17):
Shooting piping it in?
Speaker 3 (26:18):
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
I never thought of that.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
Could baking? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (26:22):
Yeah. Walmart's got a couple of new limited edition coffee creamers,
and these are both non dairy creamers, almond Buscatti and
pecan prawleen, two different coffee and so those will be
cheaper than you know.
Speaker 2 (26:35):
The great value of great value, not cheaper. That's not
written on there. It's great value, Sam.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
Fine, it's a great value.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
Coming up next, your Hollywood Outsider, the Latest Buzz Jody's
Hollywood Outsider for Miley Cyrus fans. Maybe you did not know,
but here's what's up. There's an upcoming twentieth anniversary Hannah
Montana Disney Plus special coming. I guess he's a big
(27:03):
part of it. Of course she's gonna do it. She's
gonna be a big part of it. She says. This
is a part of who I am, Miley Cyrus. Miley Cyrus.
She says she's thanksful for the connection, what this did
for her life and what the show means to everybody.
She's very proud of it. In fact, she calls it
the anniversary. They're all calling it the anniversary. I like that.
Speaker 3 (27:20):
It's so smart.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
She said. It's going to be a way for her
to thank the fans that have stood by her for
twenty years. So it's the twentieth anniversary special coming up soon.
It'll be filmed in front of a live studio audience,
and it'll have interviews with her and other people. I
think Dolly Parton will stop by for sure if possible.
Maybe they've interviewed her or whatever. It's the Hannah Montana
twentieth Anniversary Special on Disney Plus March twenty fourth, so
(27:44):
it's next month. Will remind you. We also have some
Chris Hemsworth Thor news. God's he's confirmed he will be
a part of like he's there's more Thor coming after
Avengers Doomsday, okay, and they it's going to be more dramatic,
not goofy, which he's happy about. And then there will
be a four or five no release date that yet.
(28:06):
That's going to be like part of Phase six. And
who knew there was a Phase six to this universe, Jody.
Speaker 3 (28:14):
A little earlier, you were telling us about your trip
with your daughter, your oldest daughter tailor to head over
to and buy some glasses, some new glasses.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
Glasses and yeah, she picked out some cute frames.
Speaker 3 (28:24):
Yeah, well I had to get glasses last year. These
were like out of my I guess comfort zone. They're clear,
they're clear, because my glasses have always been practical, you know.
Speaker 2 (28:37):
You know, which is funny since you're such a zany guy.
Speaker 1 (28:40):
I know.
Speaker 3 (28:40):
And so this time when I went and got him,
I thought, I haven't had glasses in a long time.
Why not get something that not necessarily makes a statement
but stands.
Speaker 2 (28:49):
Out a little different.
Speaker 3 (28:50):
And when I first tried them, it was like, I'm
gonna stick with these, but I'm not sure this is
for me. They grow on you, Yes, it becomes part
of your look now. I I mean, I'm speaking for myself,
but now I'm the guy with the clear glasses.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
Good for you.
Speaker 1 (29:04):
Yeah, and if and if you ever change it again,
then people will immediately notice. It's so funny how people
detect patterns and changes. You know.
Speaker 2 (29:12):
I will say not that you ever ask, and you shouldn't.
You should feel comfortable in choosing anything you want for yourself.
But these are my favorite glasses you've ever worn. They
look right on you, they're better, they go with everything,
and they fit your personality better good than anything else
you've ever worn.
Speaker 3 (29:29):
Most of that is what I was shooting for. We're
actually pretty much all of that. Because I didn't want
to just like be the old yeah, just give me
the standard wire rim frames.
Speaker 2 (29:36):
And when taking Taylor, I knew not to give her
much advice because she has she has her own style anyway,
and it was really fun. But there's so much to know.
You don't have to buy glasses based on your face shape.
You can buy whatever you feel like you want to rock,
but if you want real balance, they say, that's a
good place to start. Frames that compliment your face shape. Also,
(29:57):
with is very important. They should match the with of
your face, aligning with your temples. Your eyes need to
be centered within the lens, which is that's for the
people selling them to You need to make sure it's
right in the center. All of that matters. Yeah, the
nose bridge thing matters.
Speaker 1 (30:13):
And I want that's a really good point because some
styles don't work with the prescription that you have. Like
Jody's saying, if you're if the bulls eye part, you
know how they put the dot on your glasses is
not right there in the middle, then you're not going
to get the correction that you need. And I've encountered
that a few times. Jody's told me, up, those are
two big murphy.
Speaker 2 (30:31):
I don't remember you buying anything wild or crazy Murphy.
I think you look good in glasses too. You look around,
it's almost like most people are wearing glasses, and I
love it. They give you added style if you rock
them right
