Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the second half of today's Murphy, Sam and
Jody podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Direct message us on Facebook. Love hearing from you.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
Now. We had mentioned about the migraine hack, the one
that had gone viral, the McDonald's migrain hack.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
You guys remember it, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
I saw it all over social yesterday too, same thing,
you know.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
You remember it.

Speaker 4 (00:20):
Coke and a large fry.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
A large coke and a large fry.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
And those who suffer with migraines who've tried it say
it does work short term to slow down and soften
the pain.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
But I saw where some scientists, professors and others say, hey, look,
it's the caffeine, you know, shrinks your blood vessels a
little bit, which can give the temporary relieve his temporary
and then the carbonation feels good on your stomach for
you know, for for nausea.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
And something about the sodium and the fries and it
tastes good. And it tastes good too. Okay, So this
kind this came to Murphysamonjody dot com on email from
Michelle on the subject of migraines. I do something like
the McDonald's hack. I get a diet PEPSI just need
the caffeine and a small thing of plane chips like

(01:05):
you do at the store.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
Just use calories for sure.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
Yeah. I usually just need a few, but it works,
and I put heat on my neck. If it goes
to full blown migrain, I take fior set, which is
a seed of minifin and caffeine and finnergen for nausea.
Then I go to bed in my dark room. I've
heard the dark room thing.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
People who suffer, we are going to make you a sleep.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Yeah, I feel like I've heard that. I feel like
I've taken that before.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Yeah, when you were pregnant, I mean after you actually
when when you were pregnant.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
After love listening to you guys every day, I have
a great day. That's from Michelle, so my grain hack.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
Hey Michelle, sorry that you have to deal with those.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
Yeah, basically caffeine and salt.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
Caffeine and salt, but it doesn't mean consume massive amounts
of it. It's it was at first a TikTok trend,
So just understand. We're just sharing it because I have
heard the dark room thing. I have friends who have
to go into a dark room and shut out lights. Yeah,
which makes me sad. This came in also to Murphy
Samon Jody dot Com from Janine.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Do you crush the oreos? This is about the three
layer of brownies.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
Do you crush the oreos before putting them on top
of the cookie dough or leave them whole?

Speaker 1 (02:21):
No? Yeah, the video, the TikTok video said no, but
I bet you that would be good. It would probably
take the.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
Crushing that when we made them, we just put them
whole ye and said, when you bite into the brownie,
you have actual a layer of oreo.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Keep it coming. We love having you a long Three
things to Know Today.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
Brought to you buy a state farm.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Number one the White House announcing yesterday a plan for
a new US missile defense system called the Golden Dome
at the price tag of one hundred and seventy five
billion dollars. This system would aim to protect the entire
country from missile attacks, using a network of satellites to
spot and destroy missiles shortly after they were launched, even

(03:03):
if they were launched from space. The President, along with
the Defense Secretary, said it should be ready by the
end of this term his term, and the plan draws
inspiration from Ronald Reagan's Star.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
Wars program, so it sounds familiar.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Number two, Google has switched officially to full AI search mode,
So instead of giving you a list of websites when
you look something up, there's a chatbot that will answer
questions for you. They're going to include links already before
you even ask for them.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
It's almost like Google Plus.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
It is. And they said they're going to start testing
other AI features to automatically just get you more information.
Some businesses and not so sure about it because you're
not going to necessarily need to click on their website anymore.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
We'll see going forward.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
And number three grads at the University of Maryland and
for a special and beautiful green sort of treat today
as Kermit the Frog will be delivering the graduation speech.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Oh, it's bound to go viral.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
And the reason Jim Henson created Kermits and the other
muppets when he was a freshman there in nineteen fifty five.
Expect this one to be beautiful and a tear jerker.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
You're in the note three things to know today. So
excited about cool summer eats.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
This collection of summer recipes we have for you at
Murphysamonjody dot com.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
There's a delicious little cucumber salad there. You have to
serve it cool.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
There's a no bake easy banana pudding recipe also serve
it cool.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Check them out online.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
So yeah, I got to get some props here to
Jody because I think Jody actually may be smarter than
chat GPTO real explain to you how this happened.

Speaker 4 (04:41):
This ought'd be good.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
Yeah, and I'll tell you how I think she got
smart chat gpt in just a second. If you have
like a huge to do list in things to manage,
which is something that all of us do these days.
For me, it's a lot of different areas in my
life that I'm trying to manage on a daily basis,
and it can be overwhelming if it's not organized. We
already have systems in place, but even sometimes the system
has to change because life changes and the amount of

(05:06):
what's coming into me now is becoming difficult to manage again.
So I'm having a conversation with Jody about that, and
Jody is really great. I mean, you're my wife or
my best friend, and you're very smart in common sense
when it comes to these things. So we started started
with a conversation in the kitchen in the kitchen.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
Okay, so hm, this is so after you have conversations
with me, you check with chat GP.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Is that way every time?

Speaker 4 (05:28):
Interesting?

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Let me make sure Joey's not missing something.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Here's what I suggested. This is just last night.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
I'm like, you know, instead of you going so deep
into one project, because Murphy is a project type person.
If he has ten things to do, he'll spend half
the day on number one. If he can't solve it,
he's into the night on number one, and everything else suffers.
So I suggested, make sure that you do a little
bit of everything that's calling your name every day. Do

(05:54):
a little bit of this, do a little bit of that,
check on this person, check on that project. That way,
you please feel accomplished at the end of the day,
even if you don't get to deep dive everything.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Right. Which for people who use organizational systems, they call
that prioritization. That's really what that is. But yes, you know,
for me, it's my it's my approach to things, not
just the system. Joy Jody said that, I'm like, that
makes a lot of sense. So let me go back
and I took the system that I used. I fed
my entire system to chat g GPT and said what
do you think? And it actually gave that same answer

(06:26):
back that Jody give me said that would have been
simpler actually, but it did say take the list, you know,
break it into the different pieces of your life. Then
go through each of those separately so it's not so overwhelming,
and then just pick the things you know that are
urgent and let organize the others. But let the other
things go to second third instead of trying to tackle role.

Speaker 4 (06:45):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
Cool, cool toon now.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Jody, I'll consult you from now on.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
And then shot GPT.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
Yeah, okay, coming up, Jody has another Hollywood outsider.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
Coming up next though, Keep the will Wednesday is your graduation. Wow,
it's keep them h Wednesday. And lately your wowls have
been you bragging on your grads. In fact, keep that.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
Coming tis the season, right.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
Eight seven seven three one zero four MSJ. We've said
it before and we'll never stop saying it. Those degrees,
those diplomas hard earned, so it is cause for celebration
at a time in your life that when you're the graduate,
it's pivotal. Things are about to change for you, you know,
ups and downs. We all remember those times when Okay,
what next, and sometimes that what next happens slowly? Yeah,

(07:30):
it does happen slowly. Amanda sent this to Murphy Samon
Jody dot com. I'm bragging on my daughter who graduates
on Friday. She has struggled with mental health. After several
hospital stays and plenty of counseling, she got her grades
back up and is thriving. I'm going to be the
most proud parent watching my baby girl earn her diploma,

(07:51):
something just a few short months ago we didn't think
was going to happen. She has overcome so much and
I'm absolutely so proud of her. You are, Amanda, probably
a lot to that story, So congratulations. I want to
say this too. We've all been there, luckily to have
been at a graduation. The thing about being a parent

(08:11):
of a graduate is this, You're busy life. You're trying
to be on time. You got the right clothes, you know,
you know, where are you parking. There's so many things
that you're thinking of. You roll in there, you're on time,
you get your seat, you get the program, you try
to find your kid in the audience, you know, at
the thing, and all of that seems to take up

(08:31):
ninety percent of your brain and then the ceremony starts
happening and whamo, you're emotional. I have had that. That
happens to me at weddings too. I roll in there
thinking what am I wearing? Who am I going to see?
I'm so excited? Did I get the present? You get
focused on the things that you have to do to
be there and to be there for your people, and

(08:52):
then when the ceremony starts happening is when it actually
finally gets into your heart.

Speaker 4 (08:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
I agree with that one hundred percent with both our daughters,
Taylor and Phoebe, and because their friends are such a
part of our lives and have been. We're always at
the house too. When you see you know your children
and then you see their friends and all that, it's
like the whole thing.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
Just you can celebrate you like she's graduating too.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
Yeah right, It's just funny to me that Amanda knows
that you know you're going to be proud. You're ready
for that emotional whammo, but a lot of parents are
not because you're worried about the details.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
Instead.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
Congratulations Class of twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Trending now Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 3 (09:36):
Brought you by Private Team missed, I mean, Pennywise the Clown.
He's just not going anywhere. So here's what's up. There's
a new trailer, the first trailer, the first time we're
laying our eyes on this prequel series that's coming to
HBO called it Welcome to Darry something proud.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
Let me just set a paint picture here.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
Bill Scarsguard is returning as penny Wise, the nightmarish Clown.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
This is a prequel series.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
It is set in nineteen sixty two, exploring the early
days of the resident murder clown and the first group
of kids that had to face him, which we haven't
seen yet.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
We haven't read these kids yet.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
If the trailer starts innocently enough, all the kids are
moving into the car's wonderful ride bikes.

Speaker 3 (10:26):
This first season centers on a family that moves to town,
and there's mystery and all this, and then children start
to vanish, of course. And so here's what we do know. No,
Stephen King never wrote a book called Welcome to Darry.
He did. He gave approval for this to be written
and this to be done. He is informally involved, which
means he sat down with somebody and said, here's this

(10:49):
is what I imagine the beginnings of Pennywise to be.
So look for at this fall on HBO Max, and
they have planned multiple seasons.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
The trailer is out.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
Now, let's have a little fun right now, Murphy with
our food. Dude, Sam, I have good news and bad
news for you. Let's get the bad news out of
the way.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
Well.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
First of all, something that we do here at the
show is anytime Sam tells us about new food and
new snacks when we all see when any of us
sees it at the store, we'll bring it in.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Hey, let's share it.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
At least try it. Right.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
We're still looking for those cheese at pizzas.

Speaker 4 (11:25):
And those lemonade potato chip.

Speaker 3 (11:27):
Haven't seen them neither nowhere anyway, But we do have
in studio right now, Lay's wavy Korean style fried chicken chips.

Speaker 4 (11:34):
Very good.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
The real star of the show lately has been the
bacon grilled cheese chips.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
Follow You should know if you're going to try multiple
flavors of these chips on your own. If you're if
you go with the spicier one first, it kind of
ruins the experience of the second one. Because that bacon
cheddar or the bacon American cheese. It's crazy. If you
start with that one, it tastes like an American cheese.

Speaker 4 (11:57):
Sam, we got to treat that like a wine.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
Right, You've got to have a pal because the Korean
chicken one is very and so you can't taste this.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
You know what he does on a date, if you
know what I mean. Okay, So the bad news, Sam,
is this I happened. I did see the guacamole in
a store recently, and I thought was I supposed to
get those or not?

Speaker 2 (12:23):
I couldn't remember. And then for the last couple.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
Of days you've been saying you want the you want them,
and you can't find them.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
I saw them everywhere.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
Actually what Then I.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
Went back and they were gone.

Speaker 1 (12:35):
So they've been in every convenience store that have been.

Speaker 4 (12:38):
You had to tell me this story. You could have
just let it go.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
That's the bad news. Well, no, I wanted you to know.

Speaker 4 (12:43):
We saw them, but we didn't get them.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
And now they're gone.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
Okay, that's why it's bad news.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
Well, I can go back to the convenience store I saw.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
These, get them because it was for me. It was
the grocery store and they were gone. Okay, so the
good news is that I bought some new chips for
Murphy at the house.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
He's already dug into them, but I wanted you to
try them too. Free Do's flavor twist.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
Caeso flavor you ready, Yeah, finally a fredo that I
can super get on board with.

Speaker 4 (13:10):
The barbecue are the only twist they had forever.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
No, and these are wesation, don't they have?

Speaker 1 (13:16):
Like the sweet and spicy ones now too, Those are good.
They are a number of different flavors. But the caso ones,
you know, I'll I like these because they look like rattini.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
Okay, anyway, just have that them.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
They're good. They've got to look kick. But the kick's
not too bad.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
I know it's not them. Only three das bad.

Speaker 4 (13:30):
But that's cheesy.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
Yeah, oh, happy day.

Speaker 4 (13:33):
I'm cool.
