Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Murphy Salmon Jody Daily Show Podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Today is the best day of the week to start
something new, an exercise routine, a new habit. Isn't that
crazy Wednesday. We touched on this recently and three things
to Know, and I wanted to bring it back around
on an actual Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
Most people start a diet.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
A new resolution, a new routine on a Monday, because
Monday is the ultimate fresh start day. Yeah, yeah, but
every day can be a fresh start, And they say
Wednesday is great, You're already in the groove of a week.
You are not as easily going to be overwhelmed. Monday
feels alike a lot sometimes.

Speaker 4 (00:42):
Yeah, I mean trying to start a new habit or
new thing while you're getting back to work, first day
back to work and all, we've got all that to
worry about.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
It and you have the whole week ahead of you,
which also can add weight mental weight.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
I see, it depends on what you're starting, because sometimes
when you're fresh starting and it's a Monday, you wake
up and that's the first thing on your mind and
you're excited about it.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Yeah you can be, but they're saying it's just saying
on a Wednesday, middle of the week, you can you
you're already in the groove.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
You already got Friday.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
You're up much sooner, right, much sooner, and it feels
more like an experiment and you can sort of reduce
perfectionism about it.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
You get a quick win.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
Well, that makes sense because it's your expectation is starting
fresh on a Monday. You're in the back of your
mind your pass or fail, and that's a stressful situation.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
And be Wednesday, Yeah, you got you could. Let's just
say you're going to write down everything you eat, or
you're going to get steps in or whatever it may be.
You're whatever you are wanting to change about your life,
the self work you're doing. If you do it on Wednesday,
Thursday and Friday, boom, you got a big win.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
All right, that's right.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
And the weekends here, so you can take a couple
of days.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Off whatever you want to do. But you have Monday.
You've got five in a row at least. So that's
one reason that Wednesday is a good day for something
like that.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
And I wanted to bring that in. You know, when
you're doing self work.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Yeah, and that doesn't always mean to get an exercise
I don't mean to go there. It's just for so
many people it is. It could be sleeping more, Yeah,
it could be spending more time with friends.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
Next time, doing you start something? Are you going to
try and do that on a Wednesday?

Speaker 3 (02:14):
Maybe? Maybe?

Speaker 2 (02:16):
And because if you feel more successful, think about this.
Let's just say you wanted to engage in your hobby
more often, that was your thing. Do something you love
every day a little bit, just for ten minutes. Even
if you start on Wednesday and you're successful Wednesday, Thursday,
and Friday, you're more likely to feel good about it
through the weekend instead of feel like you were a failure.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
So yay Wednesday.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
Coming up in six fifty, Jody has three things to
know today.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
On the Way next Murphy makes everybody a better manager,
and Sam says a word that strikes a nerve of
Cord not a nerve with a few people.

Speaker 5 (02:50):
Follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
A lot of videos there from our podcast recently, the
podcast about Murphy's Top management book recommendations, which Juan had
asked for that.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
Yeah, like some book wreck management.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Yeah, that was a listener email question that turned into that.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
Yeah, so a lot of recommendations there.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
You can go back and search Murphy, Sam and Jody
anywhere you listen to podcasts to hear all of that.
Trace said, great advice, meaning your advice about address the problem,
not the person. Sam had asked, what if the employee
is the problem, because that's a good question, dunt dum,
and Murphy's answer was you addressed the problem, not the person.

(03:31):
Trace says, great advice. Not easy to do, but it
is the best way to address any problem.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Yeah, that is so true. Yeah, even in your personal life.
That's that's just good communication skills, right, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
This is funny when you said it's person, I'm thinking, yeah,
Bet Murphy's used that trick on me too, address the problem,
not Jody. I will say this, if you are an
employee and you're employer addresses the problem and not you,
it helps you to not take it so personally.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
You know, well, the goal is the goal is to
improve what it is that you do, right, So you're
correcting the problem.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
Such good advice.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
I have another question to follow up on that one. Yes,
we could like okay, so and this isn't.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
For me less. You're asking for a friend, aren't you.
That's a friend. That's it.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
Her name starts with a jay. No, just kidding. Okay,
you address the problem, not the person. But what if
the person won't let go of it and tries to
make it up. Oh, you're attacking me and blah.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Blah blah blahh it's natural take a B.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
I mean that's a good question. I think you let
the person express, you have to be willing to let
it express, but at some point you have to redirect them. Yeah, exactly.
I mean ultimately, as the leader, you're in charge of
the conversation. So if it deteriorates into something that is
then disrespectful, that's where you change. You know that the
conversation show on the door. But I've never really encountered
that where somebody I've never encountered that where somebody took

(04:57):
it that far. I think once you give somebody a
chance to really express and just get out of their system,
then their head is clear and you can proceed.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
Usually you see that that's his magic. He is management magic.
That's how you got me. Like, that's how we were
starting to date.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
I was like express, No, you just.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
Worked well, we worked together first, we did all right,
come it up next, your Hollywood outsider.

Speaker 5 (05:27):
The Latest Buzz Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
I know you guys might be tired of hearing about
remakes and reboots, but here's one that needs to happen.
It's a story that stands up and it's been made
for modern times and I'm excited about it. As one
of the best books I ever read. From Stephen King.
There is a carry limited series coming to Prime Video
in October, perfect month to drop that, and the full

(05:52):
trailer is here and it looks fantastic.

Speaker 5 (05:55):
I know things aren't easy for you either.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
This is scary talking to the girls who are easy
for any of us, try.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
To be friends with her and the worst part wait
for it.

Speaker 5 (06:06):
Is that I really could have been your friend.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
Freaky scary. Oh is uh doesn't any cameo from Sissy
space in this?

Speaker 2 (06:15):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (06:15):
I don't know about that.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
That would be fantastic, But these are all new you know, performers.
But it's definitely set in modern day. If you remember
this story, when she had a whole well, she had
a horrible life at home and she has all these
powers she doesn't know about yet because nothing's ever tapped
into them. But then she is in high school and
there are some girls who pretend to be friends with
her only to humiliate her.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
But oh, don't do that. And so it's modern day.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
You know, they're filming her and things like that and
posting on social and then she does what she does.
Stephen King is fine with it, is behind it and
all that. So Prime Video. Go check the trailer now
October seventh.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
Up next, Sam has Music News.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
The Purple One Prince is headed to Broadway.

Speaker 5 (07:01):
Sam Scott Music News.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
This is awesome news and a reason to go to
Broadway next year. Purple Rain, the musical is headed to Broadway.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
Is he gonna make me cry? Probably?

Speaker 4 (07:12):
Well, the plot or the story is gonna be the
same as the movie. Okay, oh extra added to it,
motorcycle and all.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
Probably, I mean Bolonia and all.

Speaker 4 (07:24):
And actually they're gonna use all the songs from the movie,
but they're also adding, like the soundtrack for it's gonna
have an extra twenty songs on it. So they want
to grab that soundtrack, well, especially if it's Prince singing,
not if the person playing Princess.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
Sing Actually, whoever plays Prince on Broadway will do a
bang up job.

Speaker 4 (07:40):
Sure they haven't cast anybody yet. They just said April
twelfth is the day that it's gonna land on Broadway
next year. The guy that did the musical direction for
Michael Jackson's musical MJ he's doing this and he's also
getting some help from keyboardist Morris Hayes and drummer Bobby
z whoa you know from the Time Nice. What was
Prince's band name, well, Power Generation.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
Yeah, well at a certain time it was New Power,
but he was associated with the Time way back before.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
So yeah, you're mostly right now.

Speaker 4 (08:07):
So look for that one April the twelfth. That'll be
on Broadway the same time as the Dolly Park musicals
on Broadway.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
What to Do?

Speaker 4 (08:14):
Ariana Grande is going after some hackers.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
Good for her, and I said her name right too.

Speaker 4 (08:21):
These are folks that she says, allegedly stole songs, videos, pictures,
all kinds of private stuff. According to what Arianna is saying,
they hacked into digital accounts of people that were her
photographers or producers and all that kind of stuff, and
they wound up getting songs, getting pictures, private pictures, and
then selling them to social media sites and different providers.

(08:42):
So she's actually going she doesn't even know who these
people are She's going after the social media platforms and
the IP people to find out. Okay, you got to
give me some names of who these people are going
after them.

Speaker 3 (08:55):
Yeah, change how this goes down for other people.

Speaker 4 (08:58):
She was actually because that was released, she was actually
forced to re record some of her material, modify dates
of release, modify concert tours and all kind and change
up business relationships. So she said, it's not just ooh,
somebody took my stuff. It messed with her whole wildlife business.
You can, so I'll let you know once we hear,
once we get some names, we'll let everybody know who

(09:19):
they are.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
All right, coming up next. Three things to Know Today.

Speaker 5 (09:26):
Three things to know Today.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
Number one, the American Red Cross is pleading for blood
donors right now for the second time, only the second
time in its history. They've declared a national blood crisis
where platelet levels have fallen really low, dangerously low. So
they're like, please schedule a time to donate, especially those
with OH positive blood, which is the universal type, and

(09:49):
other blood suppliers have made the same declaration, like America's
blood centers, So to donate through the American Red Cross,
American Red Cross website or dot Org. Number two BASKETBA
superstar Caitlin Clark, one of the most famous players in
the WNBA, grew up in Iowa, went to college in Iowa, and.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
So she's teams up with Des Moines Public schools.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
Maybe you heard about this for her third annual back
to school backpack event, and so it was bigger even
this year. About five hundred students in that area came
away with a brand new backpack, stuff with fresh school supplies,
free books. She teamed up with Scholastic and snacks, and
she said she just wants to give back to her
own area and she always loved the Scholastic book fair.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
Actually didn't throw a Caitlin jersey in each of those.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
Backs, I don't know about that. And number three we
love to tell you about free food. Kubobas celebrating National
Avocado Day coming up on Friday with for Rewards members.
You get a free entree as long as you order
an entree and a drink, and then you the one
of lesser value is free Friday or Saturday, and then
look for other deals for National Avocado Day from Chipotle, Mo's,

(10:57):
and Deltaco.

Speaker 5 (10:58):
You're up to date. Thing to know today.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
I think Murphy is tiptoeing around me a little bit
about something.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
That he bought.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
And it's so funny because I got a text from
him before he arrived. I get here first, and then
he comes, I'm sorry you get here first. I arrived
naxt and then Murphy and I got a text on
the way. I will put the desk and other things
away when I get home, and I know why you're
sending that. So Murph a little portable rolling collapsible put

(11:33):
away a bull laptop desk so that he can work
anywhere he wants to it when he's in the house.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
Right, It's a cute little idea.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
Yeah, it is good, and I like it. If I
want to be in front of the window, there you go.
If you know, and I know that I've got my
own little office workspace, but sometimes being in that same
place can really drive you crazy, you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
Change, a change of scenery is really good for your
mind when working. So when he didn't talk to me
about this at all, just arrived, Murphy's famous for that.

Speaker 3 (12:01):
I bought something big.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
Here it is, and I guess it was like five
minutes after you bought it. I was like, it's like, like,
as long as it doesn't just stay out, I don't
want it to just stay out in the living room
or the dining room.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
Jody doesn't like things to stay out. Actually, there's only
one thing that's exempted from the it can't stay out rule,
and it's her shoes.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
Yeah, yeah, but you don't really see those, right, I
guess you do.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
You could put the shoes on the rolling table.

Speaker 3 (12:31):
Maybe I could. Anyway, Well, so I don't like a
lot of clutter.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
I understand that I don't either. Yeah, you're right.

Speaker 3 (12:36):
You always say you like the way I've decorated.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
Our absolutely, well let's leave.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
It clean looking so that we can enjoy the way
it's laid out. So anyway, the first day was there,
he was sitting there working on it, and he's like, what
do you think of it?

Speaker 3 (12:48):
Do you like it? I'm like, I don't. I said,
as long as it doesn't stay out. He's like, I
didn't say it was gonna stay. It wasn't gonna stay
to be put away. I just want to know if
you liked it.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
So it's like, Okay, this is gonna be a thing.
So that's why I got the text. I'm gonna put
it away when I get home.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
I prom okay, because it's sitting out right now on
all of the gradiant glory. Yeah. I didn't have time
this morning. I had to get out of there pretty
empty there.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
Look, I don't want you to be nervous about it,
but here's what's up. If you do forget to leave
it out and I get to where it's bothering me
to see it in the middle of the beautiful living room,
I'm gonna fold up and put it up.

Speaker 3 (13:25):
Is that aok?

Speaker 1 (13:27):
Yeah? That's I mean absolutely, it's easy enough to do.
I need to show you how to do it. You
just pull a lever and boom it folks completely flat.
So you can just stick it, you know.

Speaker 3 (13:34):
I can stick it somewhere my closet and I sure will.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
Hey, coming up with seven point fifty. Jody has three
things to note today and next your morning pick me up, Morning,
Picked me.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
Up time, and this one is courtesy of Disney's Toy
Story five.

Speaker 6 (13:51):
First, we were playing none the World started change.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
Well, I know, the Odyssey's in theaters and Spider Man
is coming and Michael Jackson burns it up. But the
word is as far as movies that are doing well
this summer. This is the number one as far as like,
it's still doing well after all of these weeks.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
Families are going back to see it again and again.
Rated PG.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
An hour and forty two minutes is all you're you know,
having to give. It's not over two hours long. But
the reason I bring it up for the pick me
up is because Disney, because of Toy Story five, partnered
with the Starlight Children's Foundation and they have brought these
Toy Story five experiences to more than four hundred children's

(14:32):
hospitals around the world. And we're talking characters, and we're
talking like toys. Eighteen thousand toys have been donated. WHOA, Yeah,
They've got character inspired hospital gowns for the kids and
stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (14:46):
Here's a little of them explaining it.

Speaker 6 (14:48):
This is amazing Disney is sending Toy Story You're all
these fantastic kids in hospitals around the nation.

Speaker 3 (14:55):
I wrote, you are amazing at Uire Strong.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
You fought this personal messages from the stars of the movie,
from the voice specific kids in certain areas of the hospital.
They even were invited, like they turned some of the
hospital spaces into big special screenings and so they've showed
it to patients and their families, the movie itself, but

(15:19):
not just that. They had drawing sessions with Pixar animators
which a certain patient is a certain age and wanted
to learn to draw.

Speaker 1 (15:27):
That reminds me when we went to Disney when our
daughters were younger, Jody, remember there was one one of
those classes where you could learn you learn how to
draw Mickey.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
Oh right, we did. I learned. Many don't remember except
for both Yea.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
Anyway, here's a little bit more of the joy that
they brought to these hospitals. Today's a bat was just
pure magic kind of connects us to to the characters,
which I think is really cool.

Speaker 3 (15:55):
Some families talking sharing.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
Being able to really create magic place in the hospital,
to hear the giggles, to see the smiles, and.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
Some of these parents have even said, my kid will
never even remember being sick.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
They're going to remember Toy Story five.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
Coming up next, Jody has another Hollywood outsider.

Speaker 5 (16:16):
Jody's Hollywood outsider.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
Ryan Murphy is talking about a Glee revival.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
Oh wow, I know, you get excited.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
Okay. So he's on the red carpet at a premiere
and somebody asked him, and he says, you know what,
A lot of people ask me about that. A lot
of young people are now discovering it, and he says,
we should revisit that. It means a lot to me.
Maybe it needs a new incarnation.

Speaker 4 (16:42):
I mean, they had a show, they had a I
think they had a movie, they did tours, everything, okay, and.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
You know it is never ending because there's always music
and there's always stories you can tell along with music.
It's like a musical on television. So Ryan Murphy says, maybe.
So here's another one. The word is that earlier this week,
Macaulay Culkin was spotted outside of Disney Studios in Burbank,
and the word is he was potentially there discussing a new.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
Home Alone movie.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
You guys give up.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
And fans are just having a fit to think this
is why he would be meeting with them. It is
one of the most streamed holiday films every single year
for families. So they're talking about some sort of return,
but they don't want to bring it back without him,
so they brought him in for a little convo.

Speaker 5 (17:34):
Apparently coming up with Murphy, Sam and Jody.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
It was something you said, Sam, Sam said a word
the other day that got everybody excited, especially the single ladies.

Speaker 3 (17:43):
We'll tell you about that next. Samy said something the
other day.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
We have all these videos online and on reels on
social media and you can follow Murphy, Sam and Jody
and see them all. And we were talking about you
were saying you're very comfortable being single now, and you
were saying that if the unicorn comes along, And I
just want you to know we have so many comments
about you saying that word unicorn.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
The unicorn with regards to.

Speaker 4 (18:11):
I'm happy single, It's going to take a unicorn to.

Speaker 3 (18:14):
It, right. I just want to read some of.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
These two you metaphorically speaking.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
Yeah, Julie says, I have not dated since my divorce
and kind of like Sam, if the unicorn comes along, great,
If not, I'm good, Teresa. I love being single, and
like you, it would be nice to have a unicorn
to change my mind, or we take a unicorn to
change my mind.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
Wow, it was a funny, you know, because everybody knows
what you mean.

Speaker 1 (18:37):
Yeah. Yeah, once you're comfortable in the single space, it
takes some convincing for you to get back into the relationship.

Speaker 2 (18:44):
Is that you mean the person who checks every box,
is what you're saying.

Speaker 4 (18:47):
It checks the boxes. I don't even know where boxes.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
You didn't know you needed that special yeah unicorn horn
until you found it.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
Karen says, so a unicorn stands a chance.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
Funny some others Valerie, I like being single, but man
would be fun to find a unicorn. This one keeps
coming up. Cadet Ah, Yes, the unicorn. I agree, so
many unicorn comments. I do want to just interject, as
someone who is married, I know this is a single conversation.

Speaker 3 (19:20):
There is some there.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
There can be someone who checks most of your boxes,
even all of your boxes, but and and can be
your unicorn, but it doesn't mean they're perfect.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
Do I check all your boxes? Joe?

Speaker 2 (19:31):
I mean yes, yes, oh a unicorn. No, Murphy is
my unicorn. But just what I'm saying is we're not perfect.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
No, we're not.

Speaker 3 (19:43):
Don't get in, don't not date because someone doesn't seem perfect.
Is all I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (19:50):
Some boxes are more important to check than the others. Right,
I'm not dating because I know myself now and and
you only date unicorns a parent.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
Right.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
All I'm saying is want the unicorn, but don't expect
a perfect magical creature. Oh expect a human being. Maybe
a leprechaun coming up next.

Speaker 3 (20:11):
Three things to know today.

Speaker 5 (20:15):
Here's three things to know today.

Speaker 2 (20:17):
Number one, want to make you aware of the latest
donation scam. So if someone asks you for a small donation,
someone approaches you like you're walking into a store, take
a closer look. If you're tapping your phone to give
ten or twenty bucks. They target people using contactless payments
like Apple Pay or Google Pay. You have to be close,
You have to be paying attention because it not only

(20:38):
will get ten dollars, it might get more than that,
a lot more than that. So pay attention to the
amount on the screen before you tap. They're counting on
you being distracted. Make sure it's a legit charity. All
those things. Number two, what do you think is the
dirtiest place in your home? Most Americans think, oh, the bathroom,
the potust definitely, but it's not. There's an international household
germ study and they ask every They came in and

(21:01):
swapped people's homes. Top dirtiest things toothbrush holder coming in
at number three.

Speaker 3 (21:06):
Kitchen sink is number two.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
What germs lurk? And number one that dish sponge. You's
in the sink, so gir else and number three college
football is right around the corner, and there's some big
changes we're gonna see. Just like NASCAR uniforms, you know,
can be like a walking billboard. Starting this weekend, college
teams can put sponsor logos right on the players jerseys

(21:30):
Ofhio State has done it and a massive deal with it.
Bank notor Dame did it too, so five bank patches
will be there. It's money for the programs you're.

Speaker 5 (21:39):
In the note. All three things to know today, Social
media connect.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
It's keep the wild Wednesday. Keep your wows rolling in.
What's going on for you? That was a struggle before,
but maybe you've got it now. That's a wow when
you share something extraordinary going on in your life, Like
Vicky sent us this comment, My wow mom is I'm
she sent this a couple of months ago. This is
why I'm following up my well moment is I'm planning

(22:05):
my dad's one hundredth birthday party for August ninth.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
That's a huge wow.

Speaker 3 (22:10):
Going to be a.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
Bash with a band and over one hundred people. Vicky,
that date is coming. I know you're busy planning that
we want to hear about it. Yeah, how the planning
is going. And then after his birthday party, Yeah, we
want to hear about that.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
That is too sweet.

Speaker 3 (22:25):
That is sweet.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
The whole candle thing too. Why are you going to
do that one hundred candles? Now, you've got to do
the one hundred numbers.

Speaker 1 (22:32):
We did ninety six candles on my grandmother's birthday. She
lived to be ninety seven. And it wasn't because we
put too many candles. But man, that was just not
a smart move because it got to take forever to
line them hunt and then the smoke detectors went off.
I mean it was. It was a whole scene.

Speaker 3 (22:49):
I know, just because you can do ninety something candles.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
And you'd be surprised how much heat that radio.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
I'm not surprised the cake was not melting. It was anyway,
let us know, Vicky, I mean it.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
Jessica has a while for you, Jody, right here, She says, Hi, Jody, Hyaska.
My doctor sprung a mammogram on me. Hello, thirty five,
which apparently is prime time to have your first one.
And your advice is what's getting me through the nerves
while I wait, while I wait, I remember all the
times you've said, ladies, just do it, then treat yourself. Yeah,

(23:21):
so that's exactly what I'm doing today. Thank you for
all the encouragement that you give on the show. It's
definitely helping me today. Thank you, Jessica.

Speaker 3 (23:28):
Awesome, Jessica.

Speaker 2 (23:29):
Look that mammogram will be over in five minutes or less.
All that stress so and I know if you're nervous
about it, then plan something nice, get a pedicure afterward,
go shopping or whatever. Go go do something just for you,
even if it's a designer coffee. And that's another little
mammogram piece of advice is that I learned from my

(23:49):
friend who does mimmography for a living. Don't have caffeine
the morning of don't roll in there all caffeinated. And
why is that caffeine makes the breast tissue more.

Speaker 3 (24:03):
Tender.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
For lack of a better word, he just gives you
a better chance to have a better experience. And then
so look forward to some fancy coffee after.

Speaker 3 (24:12):
But just do it. Literally, it'll take five minutes. And
thank you, Jessica.

Speaker 1 (24:16):
Share your wives with us. It's keep the weld.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
Wednesday eight seven seven three one zero four msj up.

Speaker 1 (24:22):
Next, Sam's the food dude.

Speaker 4 (24:24):
The first pumpkin flavor retreats of the season have already
been spotted.

Speaker 5 (24:31):
If it's new and you can eat it, Sam's found it.
Here's the food dude.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
We've have punk pumpkin flavored stuff.

Speaker 3 (24:38):
You said the way my grandfather did.

Speaker 4 (24:40):
Pumpkin Pumpkin flavored stuff is now hitting the stores.

Speaker 1 (24:43):
It's early.

Speaker 4 (24:45):
Yeah, you call it summer ween or the Christmas creep.

Speaker 3 (24:48):
I call it summer ween.

Speaker 1 (24:49):
Yeah, okay, yeah, the Christmas creep is something else.

Speaker 4 (24:54):
That's a person. Eminemms has brought back the pumpkin pie
flavor already. In fact, it's landed and landed early this month.
And Flips. They're the ones that do the chocolate covered
pretzels and snack bags.

Speaker 3 (25:04):
I don't need pumpkin in that.

Speaker 4 (25:06):
Yeah, well, I'm sorry, but they have it. They teamed
up with Duncans, so you have Duncan pumpkin spice donut
covered pretzels.

Speaker 6 (25:13):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
That's a different kind of a coating. That's different. Yeah,
I wonder what it makes.

Speaker 3 (25:18):
It taste like a doughnut, pig bread or latte. And
that's it.

Speaker 4 (25:22):
In August probably for the pumpkin spice. Yeah, uh, move
it on. Chunky soup, Campbell's Chunky Soup. They're now expanding
into the frozen food section. In fact, well the name
needs to change. They're calling it chunky frozen bowls. It's chunky,
I know, chunky frozen bowl Anyway, they're taking their soups,

(25:44):
some of their favorite soups or the popular ones, and
they mix them in with either macaroni or mashed potatoes.
I know I'm simplifying it, but it's like you're gonna
get bacon cheeseburger mac and cheese chili mac. There's a
cheesy loaded potato bowl.

Speaker 1 (25:58):
So basically they're using their soups as a sauce. Yeah,
the soups is a sauce and a spice.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
Okay, you're kind of familiar with it, maybe, yeah, Yeah,
it's smart.

Speaker 3 (26:07):
It's like brand extension. Come on, guys, keep up.

Speaker 4 (26:10):
That aisle is just like out of control too. In
the store, a lot of side dishes you can get. Now,
King's Hawaiian. Now here's one we have to find.

Speaker 6 (26:19):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (26:19):
They started making bites, you know, the little ones, the
King's Hawaiian. They had the banana ones for the Minions movie. Well,
now we have cinnamon bites, soft swirl cinnamon bites. So
you think of King's Hawaiian It's got cinnamon rolls stuff
in it. Throw a couple of those in the microwave
and heat them up.

Speaker 6 (26:36):
You need a little bit, yeah, yeah, yeah, or butter
or butter and a new International Delight coffee creamer apple
buttered coffee cake.

Speaker 4 (26:47):
Oh, that's not a lot of flavors there, but that sure,
it sounds good.

Speaker 3 (26:50):
It sounds fall like yeah, more so along with pumpkin.

Speaker 1 (26:54):
Yeah, Jody has another Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 5 (26:56):
Next the latest buzz Hollywood Outside.

Speaker 2 (27:01):
It is almost time now at the theater for Spider
Man Brand New Day.

Speaker 1 (27:05):
Hi, my name is Peter Parker.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
You know those critics who have seen it a lot
of different kind of reviews rolling in that, Hey, this
feels deeper, more thoughtful, more mature than the previous trilogy,
you know, for all its action one review as it
tries too hard.

Speaker 3 (27:22):
Okay, well, look there's always somebody.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
Yeah, there's a.

Speaker 3 (27:25):
Critic who's looking for what's wrong.

Speaker 2 (27:28):
And then some people say this is the best of
the Tom Holland Spidey series, this particular one. So it's
in theaters this week, and there was even a possible
spoiler about the Sadie Sink character.

Speaker 1 (27:40):
Yeah, I heard that. I didn't read it. Good.

Speaker 2 (27:42):
We're not gonna We're not gonna spoil anything here, but
if you wanted to google it, you could find it
if you're just dying to know who she's playing. And
that's not confirmed either, it's just a possible rumor. All right,
Moving on to something else that's dropping on streaming today,
The Devil Wears pradact too.

Speaker 1 (27:59):
You are here Puss through our current scandals.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
Click click, click click every way, man, if you want
to see some fashion, I mean, you can watch It's
one of those movies you can watch on mute, just
for the fashion.

Speaker 1 (28:09):
Did you see it in the theater?

Speaker 3 (28:10):
I did see it in the.

Speaker 2 (28:11):
Theater, and you know it's what The original is one
of my favorite all time movies. This is a really
good story, but it just didn't have for me the
charm of the first movie. But if you didn't see
it in theater, if you want to see it at
home anyway, it's today on both Hulu and Disney Plus.
When I was telling you about Murphy's new roll roller Collapsible,

(28:36):
laptop desk, portable laptops, a long name man that he
puts in the living room wherever he wants to work,
which is wonderful because Murphy's always working. He does have
an office at our house, but sometimes he wants to
be He even says, I want to be in here
with you or I want to you know. Change of
scenery so awesome. I didn't know you were buying this,
but so you bought it, you put it together. You've

(28:56):
been working all over the place with it.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
You know, it rolls around and you're working.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
Impressive hunh and it shower yet. But you know, my
only thing was put it away.

Speaker 2 (29:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (29:07):
I don't want it to sit out.

Speaker 2 (29:08):
I think that's fair, right, I want it to be
We have lots of closets, so when you're not using,
I want it to be put away.

Speaker 3 (29:14):
But it's funny when we were talking about.

Speaker 2 (29:16):
It, you brought up the shoes thing, like, yeah, the
only thing that's allowed to stay out, it's your shoes, Jody, Haha.

Speaker 3 (29:21):
It's something.

Speaker 2 (29:22):
It's true when you live with someone, whether you're married
or not, when you're coupled up, it's like I don't
see my stuff and you don't see your stuff, but
I sure as heck see yours. Like you know, I've
had conversations with your stuff when you're not even there.

Speaker 3 (29:36):
Why is this out?

Speaker 2 (29:37):
You know, right, that is a thing. It's a common
thing in most marriages. I think, Yeah, it's like my
shoes don't bother me because I chose to put them there,
or it makes sense.

Speaker 4 (29:48):
Or not rationalized it in your head that oh they're
only there for a few minutes because I put them
back on.

Speaker 2 (29:52):
Sure, but I just feel like that it's all very normal.
We're not being highly unusual here.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
Yeah, I think, yeah, but you know I don't. Aren't
we going to place in our relationship where it just
kind of I will pick up your stuff sometimes, you know,
like the pajamas you slept in because you had to
get out and you know fast or on the floor,
No big I just pick them up. You know, the
blanket that you'll use in the afternoon sometimes to nap
doesn't get refolded. But you know what, no big deal

(30:19):
is growing Those are the only things just not I'm
sure I leave more stuff out than you do. You
actually do mal being one charging cords maybe another. I
don't leave flashlights out anymore.

Speaker 3 (30:30):
Descriptions things like that.

Speaker 4 (30:32):
Do you think if you were single you would just
kind of not care anymore?

Speaker 2 (30:37):
Oh? No, I would still care very much. Your surroundings
give you your mental state. So if your surroundings are
picked up in an order, I feel more in order.
So that's why I'm always picking stuff up. Nothing safe
around me in a home.

Speaker 3 (30:50):
Sorry, Marph, but that's good.

Speaker 1 (30:52):
We get we get a visitor, and we don't expect
that the house is already clean. It's not like there's
yes except for that rolling desk.

Speaker 6 (30:58):
Yeah, here's three things to know today.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
Number One, for only the second time in its history,
the American Red Cross has declared a national blood crisis.
Blood and platelet levels have fallen really really low, dangerously low.
And so if you're eligible, they're asking you to schedule
a time to donate, especially if you've got O positive blood,
which is that universal type. So they're saying just log

(31:26):
onto their website. It's Redcross dot org, or you can
google it if you want to to see. But just
make the appointment you are. We are all needed right
now for this. Number two, there's a neighborhood in Los
Angeles just outside of Universal Studios. There where They have
a brand new roller coaster this summer called Fast and Furious.
Hollywood Drift in the park did a great job to
make the roller coaster quiet because it is so close

(31:48):
to the neighborhood like they installed sound walls and gravel
to maximize the quiet, but the neighborhoods, the neighbors are
still complaining because of all the screaming from the park patrons.

Speaker 3 (32:00):
It just constant screaming all summer long.

Speaker 2 (32:03):
Thirty it's going to try to figure out what to
do about it. And Number three, HBO Max offering new
things on their app for you, but beware. It's Ai
powered for iOS users, trailers and clips and all this
bonus content based on your viewing history. There's even one
called ask HBO Max with prompts like are you in
the mood for comedy?

Speaker 3 (32:23):
Are you looking for a girl's movie nights?

Speaker 1 (32:25):
Cool?

Speaker 3 (32:26):
HBO Max, You're up to date.
