Speaker 1 (00:02):
I'd like to spread a little positive thinking, joy, and
sometimes you need a little pick me up in the
middle of the week. And so this is something that
I saw yesterday afternoon. I think, look, I think timing
is everything. You can call it God if you want to,
you can call it serendipity, you can go whatever you
want to call this. But the timing of this was perfect. Hey,
(00:22):
yesterday afternoon, I'm driving around and you know, I mean,
it's one of those days where the to do list
kind of started stressing me out, and then all of
a sudden, I see this guy in a jeep. He's
got top down. It's actually it's like a neon green
kind of jeep, and so he's already looking cool. He
passes me and on the back, you know, the tire,
the spare tire has a cover and sometimes, but this
(00:42):
first time I've seen this, it had a saying on
the back of it. And the saying just like jumped
out at me and actually changed my whole frame of
mind for the day.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
Yeah, made you want to get a jeep?
Speaker 1 (00:51):
Well, yeah, that too, but that's different, okay, But on
the back of the wheel it said one life, Live it.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
Oh baby, all that yes.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
Just it just hit me. It's like we get consumed
with things, our life feels like it's so we get
inside our own we get into we get in our
own heads too deep, and then all of a sudden,
you see that, you know. I mean, that's the truth, right,
You really only get a chance to do this one time? Yollo.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
Oh yeah, okay, sorry.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
I mean there are some people, I guess that believe
that you come back as other things. But yeah, I'm
gonna at least live the one life. But it's what's
funny is it's tough for me. And both of you
know me well. Jody obviously as my wife, you know
me extremely well. It's I am not the world's most
laid back person. If I'm in a situation where I
can be laid back, I'm great. But left to my
own devices, I complicate.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
It fun It's true, and it's funny because that's also
a secret to your success.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
You're always working.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
You're always like when we are sitting on a beach
and I'm reading some trashy novel and I'm completely escaping,
you know, out of reality, and that's good for you.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
You have to do it.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
He is reading How to Be better like marketing and
things like that, and it's like, dude, this is like work,
like work, read some trash or just take a nap. Anyway, One,
let's get it again, one life, live it.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
Yeah, I'll post a picture on our Facebook page. I
think it's just one of those good things to kind
of share.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
Right, let's go for that simple advice ForWord advice.
Speaker 4 (02:17):
Two.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
We have some fun for you later on this morning,
just after seven, Every single live action Disney movie that
they are working on, because I mean they're doing that.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
This train is not stopping.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
Okay, every single one they're working on and everything we
know about, including the Lion King live action.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
We will do that. After seven.
Speaker 5 (02:34):
We have next Jody's Got the Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
Ellen DeGeneres was hospitalized about that broken finger, and in
case you missed her explanation to her audience, it's hysterical.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
We have that next.
Speaker 5 (02:48):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
This is a fun story that made some headlines yesterday
as Ellen DeGeneres took the I don't know stage at
her daytime show and walked out with like a bandage
on her finger and she's showing the audience and they're clapping,
so She starts to explain, can you.
Speaker 6 (03:06):
See it, I broke my finger and uh, I know,
I know you're thinking, how can you host a show
without the tip of your ring finger.
Speaker 4 (03:14):
I am not going to let this beat me. I
am not listen to this Story'll tell you what happened.
Speaker 6 (03:23):
Okay, So you know how in gymnastics when you do
a one handed cartwheel and you have to spread the
weight evenly between all your fingers. Well, I had two
glasses of wine and fell into a door.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
She goes on to talk about having to go to
the hospital for us. If you saw the headline yesterday,
you know, hospital incident. Yeah, she went to the hospital
for it. You know they it was like dislocated and
ow can you imagine waiting on her keeps entertainment?
Speaker 2 (03:48):
Does you know she does?
Speaker 3 (03:50):
She cannot escape the expectation of being funny.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
You know, it comes to her naturally. Struggle.
Speaker 3 (03:57):
I know it does come to her naturally. But I'm
sure there are when she doesn't feel funny. Yeah, jokes right,
and those are the days.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
She probably just hangs out at home anyway.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Must have been not feeling too much pain when it
actually happened.
Speaker 7 (04:10):
It sounds like she had a couple of glasses a line.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
Yeah, yeah, I just thought it was kind of funny.
So when you hear about the wine fueled incident, that's
what you get. That's the story she's told all.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
Of the world.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
I've got Jennifer Lopez news. She will not stop. I
don't know when she sleeps, but I do know she
looks well rested. Every time I see her. She just
do that freezing technology thing where you w hygenis. Yeah,
she's We now have the date for her show that's
coming out, World of Dance on NBC, And this is
(04:42):
a dance competition show, not like Dancing with the Stars.
She wants to make it grittier and more really competitive,
and so she and Derek Huff and Neo will be
on the panel, along with somebody you like a lot, Sam,
Jenna do One.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
Channing Tatum's wife.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
All these people who love dance or in that world
will be like on the panel to judge, like forty
seven forty seven different dance acts will be out there
competing for those people. Can you imagine how good this
show's going to be? Look for it May eighth.
Speaker 7 (05:16):
So it's Dancing without the Stars.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
It's dancing Foursome Stars on NBC Up to date.
Speaker 5 (05:22):
With Shdi's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 7 (05:24):
I'm a notice in this morning, you two seemed pretty
calm about this talk we're given to the sixth grade
science class today.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
Sixth grade should be easy. Soon.
Speaker 7 (05:31):
I'm just a bundle of nerves because don't want to
know what the plan is. I don't want to walk
in there without a plan.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
We can plan coming up, we want to do that.
We'll just plan next.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
We're going to be teaching a science class today.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
We're gonna be speaking to a science class.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
But honestly, I think it's it's gonna be you guys
mostly why well you were well Murphy, your radio science
mone and you You're gonna tell them all about waves.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
But I think the studying waves.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
They're studying waves. But I think Sam is going to
bring the fun to it though.
Speaker 7 (06:04):
Yeah, I mean I can, yeah, yeah, yeah, Okay before
we get there, though, I mean, you know those days
where you wake up and as soon as you step
out of bed, it's like, oh, you know, there's something
waiting for you today that you don't want to deal with?
Speaker 8 (06:14):
This is it?
Speaker 7 (06:15):
Yeah? Because I don't know, we haven't, we don't have
a plan.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
Okay.
Speaker 7 (06:19):
I don't want to walk into a class to pretty
a presentation without a plan.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
You have hours. Get a story, tell a story.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
And the good news is, look, we're not speaking to
college professors. This is a sixth grade class. So if
we can there's a fun factor that needs to be
in it. We don't need to be Phoebe's.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
In this class, our Phoebe. So she You've already got
one audience member that likes you a lot.
Speaker 7 (06:37):
Okay, So I need to come up with sixth grade jokes.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
No, I already have some of the PowerPoint done.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
I'm the one who's useless in this situation.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
Oh you're not.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
I don't know what I know. I'm bringing something for everybody.
I just can't tell you what I'm bringing in case
any of them are listening. I'm bringing something.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
What I think is Jody will keep it real, Jody
will help us remember that it's a sixth grade class,
and so there needs to be fun.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
I have to be the police.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
No, no, no fun blended with teaching kids.
Speaker 7 (07:05):
Are there?
Speaker 3 (07:06):
Well, it's it's about forty four, a couple of classes
coming together.
Speaker 7 (07:10):
All right, right, all right, it's okay, how long as
this speech.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
Well, Murphy's gonna lead it, and he's gonna tell him
all about waves and how the first rate microwave story.
Speaker 7 (07:21):
Murphy's gonna lead it. He's got a PowerPoint next thing,
you know, thirty seconds in he's done.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
It will be It doesn't have to be an Academy
Award winning documentary.
Speaker 7 (07:32):
So it's radio waves, waves, what other kind of waves?
X rays?
Speaker 1 (07:36):
Amos and X rays and but you know, Sam, the
thing is, you are the fun guy. Your kids know
you that your all kids in the neighborhood think mister
Sam is the fans dude.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
Ever, I know what make it easier and bring science jokes.
You have now until this afternoon to come up with
science jokes.
Speaker 7 (07:51):
Okay, science jokes.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Whatever.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
He was a hit, you will be a fabulous I'll
be the one that's useless.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
They'll be like, oh, there's miss.
Speaker 1 (07:59):
Jodie, one of the poss of ion, sayd the negative
ion you, of course, I don't know the yesternet.
Speaker 7 (08:04):
What why are you around the nucleus?
Speaker 9 (08:07):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
Don't be nervous, please don't be all right? Six grade kids?
Speaker 1 (08:14):
Yeah, sis, Yeah, it's gonna be fun.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
Know that, mister Sam will be nervous and.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
We will go in with a plan.
Speaker 5 (08:20):
Coming up, Jody finds the good news today.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
Jo, this is such a good thing.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
I'm so excited to introduce you to Julia, the new
muppet on Sesame Street and why she's special coming up next.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
And did you know you can hang out with us
later in the day too, You know the mornings are busy.
We know that maybe when you get settled at work
you can subscribe to the Murphy Same Joy podcast listening
to your schedule, or that that's a good exercise routine,
you know that download it, run, listen.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
Listen while you laugh. All right, guys, how about something happy,
good news?
Speaker 5 (08:51):
Jody's good thing.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
You know, when I was growing up, I we did
not watch Sesame Street. I know, I didn't watch Sesame.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
Street when I was a kid. I know, I'm like
the only one I know.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
So how did you get through your childhood without it?
Speaker 3 (09:04):
I know?
Speaker 1 (09:05):
You know, I mean I missed a few episodes of
The Electric Company, but I never missed Sesame Street.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
When I was little.
Speaker 7 (09:11):
Oh, I know why. It's probably the rabbit ears didn't
pick it up out there in the country.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
Maybe, or maybe we should stop and listen to. But
Jodie has to.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
Say, I don't know if that's why I don't remember
watching a lot of TV when I was a little
little girl. We played, we went outside. I did watch
TV later as I grew up.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
But anyway, Sesame Street is just the sweetest thing. That's
why it's still around today.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
And it's so important, and that's the reason I'm so
sucked into it. We had when our girls were younger,
Murphy and they would start watching it. I'd be like, huh,
it is lovely. I want to go there. And I'm
a couple of days late on this. You guys know
that they introduced and like sixty minutes to a segment
on Sunday Night about this new muppet.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
Her name is Julia. This is her.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
Singing and Abby Kadabbe coming up been singing with her.
She has autism.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
Julia is a Muppet character with.
Speaker 3 (10:10):
Autism, and it's something they've wanted to do for a
while and bring in her characteristics in a very positive
way so children can understand, so that all the other
muppets and kids interact with her in a little bit
of a different way because she behaves a little differently.
If They don't judge her for that. They accept her. Hey,
hey she does this, she does that. She's precious. They
(10:33):
wanted to demonstrate characteristics of autism in a positive way,
also make her a female character to dispel the myth
that it's like an only boy thing.
Speaker 10 (10:42):
You know.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
So they've aired their first segment. There's going to be
more of her coming soon. She's really precious. She can
memorize lyrics better than any of her younger peers. She
loves to sing. She struggles with loud noises and sirens
and those kind of things cause to be upset. And
they can do whole episodes that are super educational. And
by the way, the puppeteer who does Julia is a
(11:06):
mom of a child with autism. Wow, I just love it.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
Can you not? I can't get enough of her. There's
a good thing, all right.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
Robert is next eight seven seven three one oh four,
MSJ He's got a riddle for you, Sam. Okay, it's funny.
I never expected this riddle thing. And it all started
with us doing this with the kids earlier this week,
and so now we're getting them on our Facebook page
and from you at eight seven seven three one oh
four MSJA, how are you, Robert, I'm great.
Speaker 10 (11:33):
On my way to work like usual. I have a
friend that used to come in and ask us little
trivia questions all the time.
Speaker 1 (11:40):
Yeah, and he.
Speaker 10 (11:41):
Stumped a group of about fourteen people for four or
five hours to have us all sing this little theme song. Oh,
so this is we'll probably get right away. This is
one I want to ask you, guys. Okay, what was
the name of George Jetson's dog, Astro? I told you
gave right away. He's fifteen of us with that, and
(12:03):
we were all singing the theme song to the Jetsons
all morning.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
It was Wow, I'm impressed, Sam. Fourteen of you and
how many hours.
Speaker 9 (12:14):
Ibrade fours?
Speaker 2 (12:16):
Okay? I thought it's gonna be something difficult. Riddle.
Speaker 10 (12:19):
Okay, can you imagine fourteen people walking around in the
morning singing the Jetsons theme songs?
Speaker 7 (12:25):
Yes, good time?
Speaker 2 (12:26):
That is fun. I like that idea.
Speaker 3 (12:28):
Look people getting in cars for spring breaking summer vacation families.
I mean that's time well spent instead of people just
looking at their screens. And you can't cheat and Google.
You gotta think. So.
Speaker 10 (12:39):
I know you guys enjoyed it because I always enjoyed it,
and I just want to tell you my story.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
I'm glad you got it to Robert. I wouldn't know that.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
And I agree totally with Jody that not googling is
like the key to if you're gonna have fun. Yeah,
anybody can google work your brain.
Speaker 7 (12:53):
Googling equals cheating.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
Although you know what Sam got Astra like that, I
would think I couldn't live. It wouldn't have stuck with me.
It's been so Longtince I watch that.
Speaker 7 (13:02):
That's the kind of useless stuff that's stuck in my head.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
Well today, at least it wasn't Uselessly.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
You grew up with it, so it makes sense, all right.
Speaker 3 (13:09):
Eight seven seven three one zero four six seven five.
We love hearing from you. Join us anytime, and yeah,
you can riddle us too.
Speaker 5 (13:19):
Jody's got the Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
Can't wait to tell you about Emma Stone's new movie.
And Brad Pitt takes up a new hobby if you
can guess it on the way.
Speaker 5 (13:29):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 3 (13:31):
I'm going to tell you about Brad Pitt's new hobby,
what he's taken up doing. Hopefully it's his life. His
life has changed, you know, significantly. First, Emma Stone her latest,
you know, biggest thing of course, an Oscar winning performance
for La La Land.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
Past dreams that we keep running into each other. Maybe
it means no doubt it.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
We now know what her next role is going to
be or next time you're going to see her, what
she's signed on for, and that is a movie called
Battle of the Sexist where she will play Billy Jean
King the tennis match.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
Yes, and Steve Carell will play Bobby.
Speaker 7 (14:05):
Now perfect looking for that. You like that, Steve Carell
perfect casting.
Speaker 3 (14:10):
Exactly, So that's gonna be different. And you know what,
she's going to be great in that role. I think
she's great in anything.
Speaker 7 (14:16):
Bobby Riggs was so bombastic. Steve Carell is gonna have
so much fun with that.
Speaker 3 (14:19):
Yes, So look for that in theater September twenty second.
It's going to be here before you know it. That's
the next time you'll see Emma Stone. Of course, the
next time you'll se Ryan Reynolds on if it's the
next time you'll see him, But he's signed on to
play Neil Armstrong.
Speaker 7 (14:31):
Uh huh.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
That's kind of cool and a big movie.
Speaker 7 (14:33):
The Battle of the sex is in case you don't know,
I mean Billy j And King was the number one
female tennis player, right, and Bobby Riggs was, you know,
way down the twilight of his career and he said
he could beat her. And I think they played in
the Astrodome.
Speaker 3 (14:45):
And yes, don't give anything away, right, please don't. Speaking
of sports and movies, there's a movie being made about
the Chicago Cubs winning the twenty sixteen World Series. Okay,
based on the book Teammate, My Journey in Baseball and
a old series for the ages. It'll be inspirational, yeah,
and it's going to be. It's retired catcher David Ross.
(15:08):
He's on Dancing with the Stars right now. Ya, he's
hot right now. A lot's going on.
Speaker 7 (15:11):
Yeah, I mean he had a great World Series. Great
way to go out.
Speaker 3 (15:15):
You're just my sports guy today. Thank you for that.
And Brad Pitt he's taking up a new hobby. Apparently
he's doing sculpturing. He's doing sculpture now, oh really?
Speaker 2 (15:26):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (15:26):
And while he does it, it's something he likes to
do instead of going out as his life is new
and different. He's not what the kids as much. He
likes to listen to emotional music while doing it. It
doesn't mean this song specifically, but emotional.
Speaker 7 (15:41):
Sulting and this music. Does he have somebody either wrap
his arms around while he's wheel spins? What do you
think he's Brad Pitt. He could snap his fingers and
have somebody. But you know, a new hobby to new life.
Can't wait to see some of the finished product.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
It's better than partying your face off, isn't it.
Speaker 7 (15:58):
George is going to have a kid, so he's not
around a party.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
Everybody's growing up.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
Coming up In your next Hollywood Outside of this morning,
it's seven fifty five, Ellen DeGeneres explains how why she
ended up in the hospital because of her finger.
Speaker 5 (16:11):
Murphy, Sam and Jody, you are hollywooder.
Speaker 7 (16:14):
Eight seven seven three one oh four msj if you
would like to share some of your riddles with us
this morning, see if you can stomp us.
Speaker 2 (16:20):
Christian You're next.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
I want to share this again because yesterday afternoon, I
think this would be a good pick me up for
anybody have a little struggle on a Wednesday morning. Guy
in front of me in a jeep. He looked all
children relaxed. She had the top off and jeep yeah,
but he was probably an older He was an older gentleman.
And on the back of the spare tire was a
saying that says, one life, Live it and it's funny.
(16:46):
It hit me at the perfect moment because I was
all deep bossed and thought of what I got to
do at night and me and Jody and the girls
at home and all that, and it just kind of
freed me up for a second and realized, you know what,
you're right, take a breath and enjoy this day. Yeah,
so thank you, mister jeep. Dude, you're cool, all right?
Speaker 3 (17:02):
Eight seven seven three one zero four six seven five
to join us and riddle us. We're loving these family
riddles you can do with everybody.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
Christian, You've got one for us.
Speaker 7 (17:13):
Okay, when I was six years old, my sister was
half my age.
Speaker 10 (17:18):
Now I'm seventy. How old is my sister, Sam?
Speaker 2 (17:22):
Sixty se age?
Speaker 7 (17:24):
She's sixty seven.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
Very good Sam, And that when she was.
Speaker 7 (17:29):
Six her sister was half her age, So she's three
years younger.
Speaker 3 (17:32):
Exactly if she's seventy three years younger. Yeah, you don't
half and once not thirty five? No, nice, that's a
great one. Your mind automatically goes to thirty five though
those ain't handle. Yeah, my mind automatically, I went through it.
I went there in my mind, but I knew that
couldn't be right. That's not right. And then you have
to start doing the mathem and Sam's you know fast, Are.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
You got any other of anyone?
Speaker 10 (17:55):
I'm told I.
Speaker 3 (17:56):
Know telling you that's why we telling me he's a genius. Yeah,
wasting life with us?
Speaker 7 (18:01):
Yeah, just a few.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
Yeah, well look, thank you for calling.
Speaker 2 (18:05):
I appreciate you Christian.
Speaker 1 (18:07):
Yeah, you know those always hang me up. And the
biggest one, it wasn't a riddle, but it was the
test I was given. All of us in the fifth
grade were given this test where it said read all
instructions before you know, filling out the sheet. Yeah, and
so I read the top paragraph, which I thought were
the instructions, and I, along with half the class, fill
out the whole test. But if you read the entire sheet,
you get to the end that says, fill out nothing
on this sheet, turn it over, and you know, wait
(18:29):
for the future a whole dude. So the people that
got it right, it was like solving a riddle, didn't
write down anything crazy.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
That's also that's not that's not the shame you. That's
to teach you.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
Yeah, absolutely, yeah, I agree.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
Embarrassing.
Speaker 1 (18:40):
I haven't learned that lesson.
Speaker 5 (18:43):
Missed any part of the show. Y'all at Murphy Samon
Jody dot com.
Speaker 7 (18:47):
Coming up, But I got to tell you this personal question.
I have waited my entire life to ask my mom
and I finally did ask her. Oh Sam, that's on
the way.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
Coming up next though.

Now Jody's taking us behind the live action future live
action movies at Disney. If they just decided they're going
to redo everything, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
Yeah, basically, why not? Beauty and the Beast could not
have been more beautiful.
Speaker 7 (19:43):
You wish to take your father's place.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
I almost want beasts to just stay beast and not
transform to the human beast.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
I want to pet that fur and brush that fur.
Speaker 1 (19:55):
Anyway, somebody's a little too into the movies.
Speaker 3 (19:57):
So great, so so great, and we know that train
is not stopping like you said. So here's what we know,
and I promise I'll get to what we know about
the Lion King live action. Moulan has a release date
of the live action of November twenty eighteen, and they're
talking about doing it with no music.
Speaker 5 (20:12):
My ancestors sent a little lizard to help me ay
dragon drag gun not lizard.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
It means we'll have a live action dragun. Mommy's likeing
that too, so look for that. We do know that
they're doing Dumbo and Tim Burton has signed on to direct.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
It is possible some mistake Jumbo. They're not releasing a
lot of info, except that Tim Burton is involved. It's
gonna being.
Speaker 7 (20:40):
Dark.
Speaker 1 (20:41):
Yeah, that dark an't have to do it.
Speaker 3 (20:42):
For Disney, so he's gonna have to do what they
want him to do as well. It doesn't necessarily others
that are coming live action. They're promising The Emperor's New Groove.
That's exciting. I know, that's a great movie. They're promising
a live action Brother Bear that mean anything to you,
saund your planet, I know nothing about that. And Home
on the Range, Home on the Range, Okay, the one
(21:04):
we're all waiting.
Speaker 7 (21:05):
For is grabbing anything?
Speaker 2 (21:07):
Huh, it's all their stuff? Why not?
Speaker 3 (21:09):
We do know they've agreed and they've hired Jon Favreau
to bring us the Lion King.
Speaker 7 (21:16):
You have forgotten who you are? So forgotten?
Speaker 2 (21:20):
I cried, wouldn't that happen right there in that movie? Anyway?
Speaker 3 (21:23):
What we do know James Earl Jones has signed on
to be Muffoster.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
Awesome is that?
Speaker 2 (21:27):
Oh what?
Speaker 3 (21:29):
Actor Donald Glover will be the voice of the young
well adult Simba. He's hot right now. And John Favreau
likely assembling the same you know team from Jungle Book
to do this.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
But Uncle Book it was his test basically that he
could do it.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
Upcoming Disney Live Action movies.
Speaker 5 (21:49):
Coming up next with Murphy's Sam and Jody, I.
Speaker 7 (21:52):
Share with you personal question. I have been waiting my
whole intult and my whole adult life to ask my mother. Yeah,
it's on the way next.
Speaker 3 (22:01):
Okay, samone is this super personal thing that you've never
asked your mom and your adult life?
Speaker 7 (22:05):
You're gonna find this kind of goofy. But uh, Ever,
since I was little, my mom, you know, do you haven't?
Does your parents? Do your parents have nicknames or do
you ever have any?
Speaker 1 (22:15):
You know the answer to that for my parents, say,
I'm always called my parents by their first names, Dane
and Merle.
Speaker 7 (22:19):
So, but I guess your grandpa was named Skipper, right.
Speaker 1 (22:23):
And he was nicknamed Skipper because he did his own
He used to make his own canoes and he and
my grandmother would just go out sale.
Speaker 7 (22:30):
Right.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
It's so cool when people made their own canoes.
Speaker 7 (22:35):
Ever, since I was little, my mom all her friends
called her TEENSI I mean every and it was all
the adult friends. It wasn't like I mean, because I
didn't know her and except her being an adult and
we know her is miss Judy yeah, y'all call her
miss Judy. But the thing is all her friends that
she still has today that are all still alive from
back in the day. Sure, she's still teensy, She's not
(22:55):
really Judy to any of those people.
Speaker 2 (22:56):
I love that.
Speaker 7 (22:57):
I've always wondered what teen c is is. You know,
I thought, okay, were you're small or compared to these?
Speaker 2 (23:03):
You didn't ask her when you were.
Speaker 7 (23:04):
A kid, I know I never did. And then the
other day I was just thinking about Teenzi again because
I heard one of her friends say something, and so
I asked her. I was like, so, where did teenzi
come from? And she says she doesn't even know the
she doesn't know if this is the real story. But
when she was so small, she said that they said
that she could fit in the shoebox, and one of
(23:26):
her aunts called her teens teenzi, and so ever she
was born, yeah no, I don't even she was six
she fit in the shoebox, but they so they all
called her teen c teenzi, and then I guess it
got shortened to teens. But then it's like, okay, so
then as you grew older, all your old adult friends
called you teenzi, but she said, yeah, just everybody called
(23:47):
her teens. I mean, like me, all my old friends
from school still call me Sammy. But it's not really
a nickname, you.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
Know, because it's not a totally different name.
Speaker 7 (23:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
Please tell me, though, that no one really put your
mom in a shoebox.
Speaker 7 (24:00):
Again, I cannot confirm. I can't confirm that. She Yeah,
she fits in a shoebox.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
She's so teensy.
Speaker 7 (24:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (24:10):
And she doesn't mind it though, because it's a cute name.
He called the nickname. As long as it's not offensive
to you in some way, it's precious.
Speaker 2 (24:18):
I really like that.
Speaker 7 (24:19):
When I was little, my aunt called my dad Bubby,
I guess from when she grew up with right. But
so when I came along, I was Bubba. So there
was no Sammy and Sammy and Sammy and Sammy. It
was Bubby and Bubba.
Speaker 2 (24:32):
I never knew you were a Bubba.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
I don't see that Sam was a bubba.
Speaker 5 (24:36):
Yeah, yeah, Sam has music news.
Speaker 7 (24:38):
Well, Bubba has music news, ed Sheeran, possibly heading off
a plagiarism lawsuit on his song again in Shape of You,
I'll tell you.
Speaker 5 (24:47):
How Sam's got music news.
Speaker 7 (24:51):
All Right, we all know Ed Sheeran's new song Shape
of You.
Speaker 3 (24:57):
My favorite part of that song is the beginning line,
the club's not a good place to find the lovers
of the bar is where I go, And I'm thinking,
what's the difference?
Speaker 1 (25:07):
Something poetic?
Speaker 7 (25:08):
Well, he has now added two additional writers to the
song Shape of You.
Speaker 1 (25:13):
Why.
Speaker 7 (25:13):
The writers are Candy Burris and Tiny Harris, who back
in the nineties co wrote a song called Scrubs. And
the belief is because there have been a lot of people,
a lot of back talk that you know, what Shape
of You kind of sounds like Scrubs?
Speaker 2 (25:32):
Does it?
Speaker 7 (25:33):
It's got I guess kind of similar beats to it,
doesn't it?
Speaker 1 (25:40):
Why I never thought of it? Is that?
Speaker 3 (25:42):
So? Why is everybody ruining music by doing this and
taking everything to chord?
Speaker 7 (25:47):
I guess maybe he heard something and so therefore he
went and assigned them co authorship and they thanked him,
and it's wonderful and it's great.
Speaker 1 (25:54):
So well, sometimes if if an artist says that they've
been influenced by another band, we've seen this from recent history, Yeah,
then the other person goes, oh, really influenced to you?
So pay me.
Speaker 2 (26:04):
A lot of country songs sound similar, do they not?
Speaker 7 (26:08):
Oh yeah, a lot of songs, a lot of songs.
My dad left me, my life left me.
Speaker 3 (26:12):
Just saying similar, truck similar as influence, not necessarily copying.
Speaker 7 (26:17):
Speaking of country music, Tim McGraw and Faith hill Or,
they've announced they're going to do their first joint album ever,
and later this week they're going to release a new song. This,
of course, isn't the new song.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
I was gonna say it sounds familiar.
Speaker 7 (26:30):
Yeah, they've done this one before together. The new song
is called Speak to a Girl. It's coming out Thursday,
and they're performing on the ACM Awards April the second,
and then they go off on their Soul to Soul
Tour April the seventh. Yeah, and then the album will
come out later this year. And it's their first album together,
completely together.
Speaker 1 (26:44):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (26:45):
You know everyone loves to see them singing into each
other's eyes.
Speaker 7 (26:48):
Yeah, yeah, okay, what life? In case you missed it, yesterday,
Mariah Carey had some Christmas news.
Speaker 1 (26:56):
What's that?
Speaker 7 (26:57):
Look at me? Look at me? I'm all right, Carrie.
She has decided. You know, she turned this song into
a book, children's book a couple of years ago. This
year before at Christmas Time is going to come out
on DVD and Blu ray and on demand, an animated
Christmas movie based on this song.
Speaker 2 (27:13):
That's gonna be good. You know what. I'm sorry it is.
She's the queen of Christmas music for modern Christmas.
Speaker 1 (27:20):
Your part. That's a smart business move.
Speaker 7 (27:21):
Look Fridy Christmas.
Speaker 5 (27:23):

a queen walk into the castle. Next day, three people
walk out. How did this happen?
Speaker 3 (28:11):
This is the kind my Phoebe's really good at and
and I need a minute.
Speaker 7 (28:15):
Six.
Speaker 3 (28:15):
So one day, a king and a queen walk into
a castle.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
Is that what you said?
Speaker 9 (28:21):
King and a queen walk into a castle.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
One night, a king and a queen walk into a castle.
Speaker 10 (28:25):
The next day, the next day, three people walk out.
Speaker 2 (28:30):
There were three people in the castle already. Is that it?
Speaker 9 (28:34):
That was not it?
Speaker 4 (28:38):
Everybody?
Speaker 3 (28:38):
You let me take this when I'm on David, Do
you have any ideas?
Speaker 8 (28:42):
I have no idea. Was was she pregnant and had
a baby at night?
Speaker 5 (28:46):
Ooh?
Speaker 9 (28:47):
That was my thought too. That was not so.
Speaker 3 (28:51):
One night, a king, king and a queen walk into
a castle. The next day, three people walk out of
the castle.
Speaker 9 (29:00):
They really walk out the castle. One night, a king
and a queen walk into a castle. Next day, three
people walk out.
Speaker 2 (29:10):
I just figured it out.
Speaker 7 (29:11):
It's like the night is a night a king and
a queen. That's three people.
Speaker 2 (29:15):
Dang it.
Speaker 8 (29:19):
One night and you even asked her one day and
said it one night over.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
You're over.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
I'm hung up on the time of the day.
Speaker 3 (29:26):
So you're saying, a king, a queen and a knight
walked into the castle.
Speaker 8 (29:32):
That's one of my favorites.
Speaker 9 (29:34):
I have a group of boy scouts and they stumped
me on it, and it was I was like, oh,
you got a scout.
Speaker 3 (29:38):
That is cool. So it's how you say it. A night,
a king and a queen walk into a castle.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
One night, one night.
Speaker 9 (29:46):
A king and a queen walk into the castle. The
next day, three people walk out.
Speaker 2 (29:50):
Yes, tricky words. I love it. Have a great day
you too, Sam.
Speaker 1 (29:56):
I'm even surprised that she had to slow it down
for you to catch that one.
Speaker 3 (29:58):
Seriously, that might be my favorite one for kids. You know,
We've got to do that one with the kids tonight

up in the hospital this week and in her words, next.
Speaker 5 (30:28):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 3 (30:30):
This is a fun story that made some headlines yesterday
as Ellen DeGeneres took the h I don't know stage
at her daytime show and walked out with like a
bandage thing on her finger and she's showing the audience
and they're clapping, so she starts to explain, can you.
Speaker 4 (30:46):
Say it, I broke my finger?
Speaker 6 (30:47):
And uh, I know, I know you're thinking, how can
you host a show without the tip of your ring finger.
Speaker 4 (30:54):
I am not going to let this beat me. I
am not listen to this Story'll tell you what happened.
Speaker 6 (31:03):
Okay, So you know how in gymnastics when you do
a one handed cartwheel and you have to spread the
weight evenly between all your fingers. Well, I had two
glasses of wine and fell into a door.
Speaker 3 (31:15):
She goes on and talk about having to go to
the hospital for us. If you saw the headline yesterday,
you know, hospital incident. Yeah, she went to the hospital
for it. You know they it was like dislocated. And
how can you imagine waiting on her keeps entertainment?
Speaker 2 (31:28):
Does you know? She does?
Speaker 3 (31:31):
She cannot escape the expectation of being funny, right, you
know it.
Speaker 1 (31:35):
Comes to her naturally. That's a struggle.
Speaker 3 (31:38):
I know it does come to her naturally. But I'm
sure there are days when she doesn't feel funny.
Speaker 7 (31:41):
Yeah, try to making jokes, right, and.
Speaker 2 (31:44):
Those are the days she probably just hangs out at home.
Speaker 3 (31:46):
Right.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
Anyway, she must have been not feeling too much pain
when it actually happened. It sounds like you.
Speaker 7 (31:51):
Had a couple of glasses a line.
Speaker 3 (31:52):
Yeah, yeah, I just thought it was kind of funny.
So when you hear about the wine fueled incident, that's
what you get. That's the story she's told the world.
I've got Jennifer Lopez news. She will not stop. I
don't know when she sleeps, but I do know she
looks well rested. Every time I see her. She just
do that freezing technology thing where you w hygenis. Yeah,

Speaker 2 (32:58):
It's Dancing for some Star on NBC.
Speaker 11 (33:01):
Up to Date with Shody's Hollywood Outsider and on the Way,
and in the next Outsider at eight point thirty, Brad
Pitt takes up a new hobby to cope with life

I love it when you guys say stuff together at
the same time. So cute.
Speaker 1 (33:41):
We're like twins. You know that, boy knew?
Speaker 3 (33:44):
I okay, are you ready for meal madness today? Every
single day this month, meal madness a different recipe every
day so you don't get in ruts and get stuck
making the same thing because we all do that. You
know your family can request it, but you don't make
the same thing every week, right, Okay, today's recipe is
easy chicken parmesan. It's an easy way to whip up
chicken parmesan.
Speaker 7 (34:04):
Made with real chicken.
Speaker 3 (34:06):
Yeah, you use jar sauce things like that, serve it
on top of like pasta. But I don't always have
to have that. I don't always have to have pasta,
just like the chicken made that way. Yeah, and then
you Murphy wants extra cheese on everything.
Speaker 1 (34:22):
Yeah, thank you very much.
Speaker 3 (34:24):
So anyway, go get that at Murphy Salmonjody dot com.
Speaker 5 (34:28):
Straight from our Facebook.
Speaker 3 (34:30):
All right, David, we have some meal madness questions or suggestions.
Speaker 8 (34:33):
Yeah, Kathleen has a question about your slow cooker lasagna
and Sam you might be able to answer this too,
since you made it and critiqued it.
Speaker 2 (34:39):
You made it once.
Speaker 8 (34:40):
Yeah, Kathleen asked for the lasagna. Do you have to
add any extra juice? Since the noodles are not boiled over,
one jar of spaghetti sauce be enough to make the
noodle soft and the final dish not too dry.
Speaker 3 (34:52):
That is the beauty of slow cooking. You do not
have to add. In fact, please don't add any water
or juice to it. It doesn't need it.
Speaker 1 (34:59):
Well, non cooking the room isn't the secret to that.
The type of noodles you're putting in it though.
Speaker 3 (35:02):
Yeah, you're doing oven ready lasagna noodles. Yeah they're they're
crispy and all that, but they're gonna cook just fine
in a slow cooker on low for three hours. You
layer your lasagna like normal with those noodles. Of course,
don't add any water. That's the trick. If you've never
done slow cooking, you think you gotta add water, you
don't enough, and you don't also lift up the lid ever.
Speaker 1 (35:25):
Until how are you supposed to smell it?
Speaker 7 (35:27):
Did use the full yard though?
Speaker 3 (35:29):
Yeah, yeah, I use all my I use all my
jar to So good luck with that and thank you
for reaching out. Murphy Samon Jody dot com or hit
us up on our Facebook page or Instagram.
Speaker 11 (35:39):
Coortex eight seven seven three one oh four six seven five.
Speaker 1 (35:44):
James has another riddle. He's ready to stump you see
him next. We're going to be teaching a science class today.
Speaker 2 (35:53):
We're gonna be speaking to a science class.
Speaker 3 (35:55):
But honestly, I think it's it's gonna be you guys
mostly why well you were Murphy, you're radio science mine
and you you're going to tell them all about waves.
Speaker 2 (36:07):
But I think they're studying waves.
Speaker 1 (36:08):
They're studying waves. But I think Sam is going to
bring the fun to it though.
Speaker 7 (36:11):
Now, ye, I mean I can yeah, yeah, yeah, okay.
But before we get there, though, I mean, you know
those days where you wake up and as soon as
you step out of bed, it's like, oh, you know
there's something waiting for you today that you don't want
to deal with?
Speaker 8 (36:22):
This is it?
Speaker 7 (36:23):
Yeah? Because I don't. We haven't. We don't have a plan.
Speaker 2 (36:26):
Okay.
Speaker 7 (36:27):
I don't want to walk into a class to pretty
a presentation without a plan.
Speaker 2 (36:30):
You have hours. Get a story, tell a story.
Speaker 1 (36:33):
And the good news is, look, we're not speaking to
college professors. This is a sixth grade class. So if
we can there's a fun factor that needs to be
in it. We don't need to be Phoebe's.
Speaker 3 (36:41):
In this class, our Phoebe. So she You've already got
one audience member that likes you a lot.
Speaker 7 (36:45):
Okay, So I need to come up with sixth grade jokes?
Speaker 1 (36:48):
No, I already have some of the PowerPoint done.
Speaker 2 (36:53):
I'm the one who's useless in this situation.
Speaker 1 (36:55):
Oh you're not.
Speaker 3 (36:57):
I don't know what I know. I'm bringing something for everybody.
Can't tell you what I'm bringing in case any of
them are listening, I thing something.
Speaker 1 (37:03):
What I think is Jody will keep it real. Jody
will help us. Remember that it's a sixth grade class,
and so there needs to be fun.
Speaker 2 (37:10):
I have to be the police.
Speaker 1 (37:11):
No, no, no fun blended with teaching kids.
Speaker 7 (37:13):
Are there?
Speaker 3 (37:14):
Well, it's it's about forty four a couple of classes
coming together.
Speaker 7 (37:18):
Right right, It's okay, how long as this speech.
Speaker 3 (37:21):
Well, Murphy's gonna lead it, and he's going to tell
them all about waves and how the first wave microwave story.
Speaker 7 (37:29):
Murphy's gonna lead it. He's got a PowerPoint next thing,
you know, thirty seconds in he's done.
Speaker 3 (37:34):
It will be It doesn't have to be an Academy
Award winning documentary.
Speaker 7 (37:39):
So it's radio waves, waves, what other kind of waves?
X rays?
Speaker 1 (37:44):
Gammas and X rays and but you know, Sam, the
thing is, you are the fun guy. Your kids know
you that your all kids in the neighborhood think mister
Sam is the fans dude.
Speaker 3 (37:53):
Ever, I know what make it easier and bring science jokes?
You have now until this afternoon to come up with
science jokes.
Speaker 7 (37:59):
Okay, science jokes.
Speaker 2 (38:01):
Whatever.
Speaker 7 (38:01):
He was a hit.
Speaker 3 (38:02):
You will be a fabulous I'll be the one that's useless.
They'll be like, oh, there's miss Jody.

was really seeing the guy in the jeep top off
kind of just smiling and joining.

it up, but right now, kidding for the holidays. It'll
be released on DVD, Blu ray, and also on pay
