Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Murphy Salmon Jody Daily Show Podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
You know how they say for every person, there's a
doctor visit that you dread most, right, what's what's the
laugh for?
Speaker 3 (00:13):
Yeah? Yours? I know yours is eyes. Mine used to
be dental.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Oh but not anymore. You're not anymore gotten over that.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
Yeah, I have clients. I have no problem.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
What's the doctor's appointment that you dread? Murphy?
Speaker 1 (00:24):
Honestly, I don't know that I dread any of them.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
Oh that's right, Murphy doctor.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
Well, no, it's not that.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
It's just that, I mean, I I I love my doctors.
They're all great. There's not one that I really.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Good for you. You are the standout note where goes on?
Speaker 1 (00:37):
And they no, actually not Sam. If you do that
one enough, then you know you understand it's just life.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Okay, Okay, mine is the eye doctor. And I know
that sounds really weird, but I'm I weird.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
And it's they they say that that's the reason for
a lot of people having the dentist thing is because
something about it's primal. It's it's in our genetics and
biology to protect the face.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
Well, that makes sense to me, and so I don't
know if I'm an outlier when it comes to the
dental thing. I've always loved the dentist. I love the
feeling of the cleaning, the scraping. I mean it's I
feel refreshed when I'm done with it.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
You know, you are just the different one among us.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
I don't mind being lectured a little, you know.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Well, so I went to the eye doctor yesterday, and
I love my eye doctor. I think that in between
visits he forgets that I'm eye weird, Like I don't
think he wrote that in my chart. And so yesterday
he did not dilate dilate my eyes, which is like, great, okay,
we do all the things. I have a slight prescription,
change very very slight. And then at the end he's like, well,
(01:41):
let's go in here and let's put the car. I'm
trying to buy new contacts. It's time for new contacts,
and he's like, let's put them in. I told him,
I said, okay, well, you know this takes me a
minute because I'm not good at it because I'm eye weird.
And I start to do it and it takes I said,
I want you to watch me and tell me what
I'm doing wrong and he looks at his watch. He's like,
(02:01):
I could just put him in real quick, and I'm like,
oh no, no, no, And he walks to me and he
starts he's my eye doctor, but he starts to open
my eye wide. Yeah, And I want to tell you
I touched him and pushed him away. Did you really
mean to it was a fight or flight response that
I pushed him away from me?
Speaker 1 (02:18):
Oh wow? What did he say?
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Nothing? He just let me go on and do it.
And I said, you know, I'm sorry, I'm very iware.
This is why it takes me a long time to
do it. And don't even get me started on taking
him out with these nails on.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
Did he actually help you? Do you?
Speaker 2 (02:31):
Yes? He gave me some pointers, but he stayed on
the other side.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
Bet he wrote it in his notes this.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Time, don't touch her. Coming up in six fifty, Jody
has three things to note today and next. Sam is
the food dude.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
I'll let you know where all the good deals are today.
For it National Burrito Day.
Speaker 5 (02:50):
If it's new and you can eat it, Sam's found it.
He's the food dude.
Speaker 4 (02:55):
It is National Burrito Day. So who we got some
deals today? Now, Unfortunately, all the ones I've found are
Bogo deals. It's not like just go in and get
a free burrito.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
Why is that unfortunate?
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Yeah, because you're going to buy to get so you know,
free is free, okay, and a business stays in business.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
I'm not giving things away for free year, come on first, anyway,
Bogo deals at most of them today.
Speaker 4 (03:18):
Coolest deal I think is at Chipotle. They were doing
this thing they did last year called the Burrito Vault.
Every hour go to their website. They're giving you clues
as to what's on the burrito, and the first person
each hour that guesses it correctly gets a free year
of burritos.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
Well, there, you get your free hour.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
Today you got a chance to win free burritos for
a year.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
Got it fun?
Speaker 4 (03:37):
Now burritos are not your thing, and you still want
a Bogo Subway until the end of the month and
April twenty eighth, they're doing buy one, get one free
for their sub club members, so nice by foot long,
get a foot long.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
That's a good like week night, feed the family. Welcome
to it.
Speaker 4 (03:53):
Cause and everybody's going to Subway, so make sure you're
joined the sub club so you can get that one
Wednesday's is up reading their chicken sandwich. Uh, they've got
a new marinade. They're using panco style breading on it.
They have a sweet potato but excuse me, a potato
but that's sweeter than the old bun, not a sweet
potato bun, homestyle mayo. And they're adding pickles to it.
(04:14):
Why they didn't have pickles before, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
Sounds like they're trying to play in the chicken sandwich game,
which lies, which is which is.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
A fluttered world? Chick fil A?
Speaker 2 (04:24):
Yeah, that's exactly, but it sounds.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
Like, you know, Chick fil A, I'll leave the pickles
on the on the sandwich.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
That's right. You're not a pickle person.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
The Chick fil A pickles, they they get into the
bread and they it just.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
Has supposed because it's pickle brine.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
But yeah, oh that's right, that's right.
Speaker 6 (04:40):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
A cereal for you, just in time for this Easter weekend.
Reese's Puffs. You know what Rees's Puffs. It's a little
ball summer chocolate, summer peanut butter. Well they do this
every year. They put out the bunny version of it,
so it's little peanut butter bunnies and little chocolate bunnies
in the box. They don't go to every store. They
only go to some stores and they're not PIFL. So
if you find one, get it. It's only around this week.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
I bet that's delicious. Yeah, whatever, I need to get
over it because I'm not eating it.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
But we have a new Fanta flavor coming too. It's
called Crimson Sour Cherry. It's cherry and there's some tartness
added to it for the sour. Okay, enjoy that one.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
Coming up next, Jody has your Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
The latest buzz.
Speaker 5 (05:23):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
I am so excited to tell you about Cape Fear,
the new Apple TV adaptation of the movie Cape Fear.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
Now.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
The one that I knew and that terrified me was
Robert de Niro and Nick Nolty and Jessica Lang in
nineteen ninety. Juliette Lewis was in it. I loved that movie.
This Apple TV series that's coming limited series Javier bardein.
I don't want him to be scary, but he plays
Max Katie. Here's a little bit of the trailer.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
I had a Good Life one too.
Speaker 5 (06:00):
We do what he was always right.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
Amy Adams, Patrick Wilson.
Speaker 6 (06:06):
Said, plood, something's really Do you remember how good and
scary Robert de Niro was as this felon who gets
out of prison, who comes back for the prosecutor who
cut the wrong deal and was responsible for putting him away,
decided to terrorize his family.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
I'm still blown away by that story, and I want
to say, the old, old old movie was like Robert Mitchell.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
Oh, so this is the third remake, Yes.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
It is, But Harvey ar Barte.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
I think that's a good choice.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
I know, I know. But he's so handsome.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
Okay, so he's too handsome to be mean.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
No, he's not. Amy Adams is in this too, Murphy,
I know you love her. So this is on Apple TV.
The first episode premiere is Friday, June second, and the
new episodes follow every Friday all the way through the summer.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Jody has a Bonus Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
Next Bonus Hollywood Outsider. So much going on in the
world of entertainment. So for those who are fans of
the Scream movie franchise, we just had Scream seven.
Speaker 5 (07:09):
I can't believe we're staying at the Psycho Killer b
and b.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
I mean, who knew all those years ago the first
time we saw Drew Barrymore answer the phone is who
is this? She was so great, right and then she
was killed off right away?
Speaker 1 (07:22):
And don't you think after seven movies they'd stop putting
themselves in these predicaments?
Speaker 2 (07:26):
Okay, I can't judge because I haven't seen anything past
the first movie.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
It's dark and scary outside what do you think it is?
Speaker 2 (07:32):
It made two hundred million Scream seven globally, so they've
already said yep, scream Eate is coming. Ghost Face is
a thing that is here to stay. Yeah, Okay, moving
on to another big trailer, a movie trailer we got
this week, and I don't know why I'm excited about it.
I used to listen to the beginning of the cartoon
(07:52):
of Masters of the Universe on Saturday morning, like I
knew the song. But the Masters of the Universe live
action movie is coming this song. I mean, he Man
and Skeletre and all of it. So here's the trailer.
Speaker 3 (08:04):
Even though I was stuck light years away under.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
Us Frince Adam, I never stopped trying to get back home.
So he's he's just a regular guy or so he thinks,
but he's actually he man, okay, and he's going to
save us all.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
So he's a he man and doesn't know it.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
No, I know he's by the way, Ladies and gents,
go watch the trailer because the way they drew the cartoon,
this man exists. The casting is incredible. The actor's name
is Nicholas Gallat's Galut scene. I hope I said that right,
Gallat scene. Anyway, he looks like he looks like him
were incredible.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
He Man Murphy. I was never into he man.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
No I thought I was one.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
But really no, I didn't anyway. Anyway, Skeletor is Jared Leto.
Oh that's a big deal and it looks really beautiful.
It looks like a beautiful It's a cross between some
sort of Harry Potter movie and Star Wars superhero. Yeah,
so look for that Masters of the Universe in theaters
June the fifth, and one more piece of entertainment news,
(09:07):
Hard Knocks is coming, and we've been it's been confirmed
for the twenty six twenty seven football season. Hard Knocks
is going to be featuring the Seahawks and the Patriots.
They're going with teams that are coming out on top.
So those two teams, New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks
will get the behind the scenes stuff up.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
Next. Three things to know Today.
Speaker 5 (09:30):
Three things to know today.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
Number one, NASA launched four astronauts into space successfully aboard
the Artemis two mission on April Fool's Day during a
pink moon. And so this mission will take the crew
farther from Earth than any humans have traveled while testing
the life support system of this spacecraft.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
Three thousand miles farther.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
And it's oh see, you know you're the space person here.
It's a ten day mission and expected to be closest
to the Moon by Number two. Most Americans use their parents'
house like a personal storage unit. And guess what. That's
no surprise to all the parents who are storing their
kids stuff. We did it, and now it's maybe being
(10:14):
done to you.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
The average is about nine boxes of stuff. And the
other interesting thing is that, for the most part, no
plans to ever pick it up.
Speaker 4 (10:24):
You know, I wonder about that. I got a room
full of stuff right.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
Now it's forgotten and they know it's safe. Yeah, so
mom and dad, you really do reserve the right. It's
your house and number three. Major League Baseball is back
in action, of course, and the word is they've tested
and for sure, fans do make a difference. If your
team is an underdog, the fans you can increase the
(10:49):
performance by major percentages for the players. You know, foul balls,
it's all.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
Called home field.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
And it boosts adrenaline in the players. So fans, Matt,
support your teams.
Speaker 5 (11:01):
You're up to date. Three things to know today.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
Social media connect ladies. Today's after the show podcast, as promised,
will be about the color analysis that I had done
and everything I learned. Okay, because I think that every
person who gets dressed and goes into the world, maybe
you'd want to.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
Know this, like what colors are best for you?
Speaker 2 (11:21):
Are you based on your skin tone and undertones and
all of that?
Speaker 1 (11:24):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (11:25):
All we all have a season that we naturally are
in for dressing in color. Laurie said from our Facebook page.
I'm a Winter and what I realized is that when
I was wearing those colors, I felt more confident and powerful.
You guys are great, love the show, looking forward to
the podcast. Thank you, Laurie. That's how a big deal
it is. You spend your whole life sort of figuring
(11:46):
out yourself and knowing yourself and hopefully getting more confident.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
Justin sent this in on email. He says, I love
Smash Kitchen products. Sam, you did that in the Food
Dude the other day.
Speaker 4 (11:57):
Yeah, Glenn Paul's got some new Smash kids and Glenn Powell.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
Yeah, microy popcorn and tortilla chips.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
Well, Justin says, I've only tried the condiments, but I'm
excited to try the chips. As you mentioned the kettle
chips right, He said, I had no clue who was
behind the product, So thank you Food Dude for the information. Hey,
no problem, one of my favorite parts of the show.
Thank you guys for the daily entertainment.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
Did you say it's favorite part of the show?
Speaker 2 (12:21):
Did Justin?
Speaker 1 (12:23):
You just made She said, you know one of my
favorite parts of the show.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
Well, we'll get there, Justin, We'll get there.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
That's to Murphy Samon Jody dot com if you want
to email.
Speaker 4 (12:30):
Us, also have a comment for it. Do nothing Jody
from Donna. She says, I agree Jody doing nothing every day.
She agrees with doing nothing every day a little bit
making time to do nothing versus the whole day.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
Little down time.
Speaker 4 (12:44):
She says, I do it every day, but I call
it reflecting. Nice take time each day to reflect. It's
important to take time to use your own brain and
not depend on the screens and books and TV, et cetera.
To put thoughts in there.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
Love listening to you guys, have a great day.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
Yeah, you know what we were talking about, how Americans
in general have trouble doing nothing even when on vacation.
So coming up later in the show, we've established that
a lot of us struggle with it. How to do it?
You have to plan doing nothing. So we're gonna go
there coming up later.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
Up next your morning pick me up, morning.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
Pick me up time if you want to be happier.
According to a Harvard behavioral scientist, they also call him
the happiness expert, he's been there forever. His name is
Arthur Brooks, and he's been studying happiness forever.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
I'd love to meet a happiness expert.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
It's a pleasure to the word is from Arthur. And
a study that's being has been conducted at Harvard for
eighty something years. So he picked up this study and
has added to it. They've been studying people forever about
six things that the happiest people do. The first three
should be obvious. These are, you know, what you would
guess following a healthy diet, just balanced and nutrition, exercising frequently.
(14:02):
Exercise checks a lot of boxes. It makes you feel better,
It gives you self respect. It's so people who exercise not.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
Overboard, well, none of it. You have to be overboard.
You don't have to be Tom Brady with the diet.
You know what I mean. It just means know what's
good for you and what's not, and all things in moderation.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
Yeah. The third one being limit smoking and or vaping
and drinking. Sure, limit that anything like that in excess
is going to rob you of your happiness. Those are
the obvious, above board, obvious ones. The other ones that
they've found in this study that people overlook. Never stop learning.
It's one of Murphy's favorites. Yeah, like curiosity.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
It keeps your mind really active. To me, it gives
you energy.
Speaker 2 (14:47):
I get excited when I learned something new.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
And it doesn't mean you have to sit down and think,
you know, calculus, I didn't do well in school with that,
I'm going to try that now. It's not that kind
of thing. It's just something that's whether it's a new
skill or a new piece of information about somebody, just interest.
Speaker 3 (15:00):
Even on the day you die.
Speaker 7 (15:01):
You won't know everything, of course not Yeah, but you
speaking of happiness day before to learn it sounds focused
on the day he dies, all right.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
Another one that's kind of not obvious. Become a skilled
problem solve or get good at dealing with life's challenge.
Don't just give up because you have a roadblock. Yeah yeah,
also a Murphy favorite.
Speaker 1 (15:23):
I actually had that recently when I shattered a huge
glass shelf at home unfortunately, and I'm sitting there looking
at it and I didn't even overreact to it, but
this huge pile of glass, It's like, how am I
going to do that? So I had to do a
little googling to make sure I wasn't going to screw
up a vacuum cleaner or something nice. And I fixed
it and it's all cleaned up, and you know, no
(15:43):
harmless when you.
Speaker 2 (15:44):
Talk about that later then, And then the last one
is love. Happier people have love, and it doesn't just
mean mean romantic love or marriage. It's also strong friendship,
so stay social.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
Coming up next, another Hollywood outsider.
Speaker 5 (15:58):
Trending now Jody's outsider.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
Rumors from anonymous and unnamed sources, not facts, but rumors
about Taylor Swift's upcoming wedding, isn't it in June? What
we're hearing now is well, first of all, Swifties have
thought that from the jumps she got maybe that's where
I got my she got correct engaged that it would
(16:21):
be Saturday, June thirteenth because of the number thirteen meaning
so much to her. So now we're hearing, yeah, that's
what it's going to be. And rumor and a Rhode
Island wedding. The you know, guest list is growing private
gatherings with like between her Rhode Island mansion and then
this ocean house, a five star seaside resort nearby, that
(16:44):
all this is going to take place. Also the rumors
that she's not going to have bride'smaids at all, doing
a little bit differently. Famous friends invited Selena Gomez. I
mean we know that, Yeah, Zoe Kravitz may be there.
Speaker 3 (16:55):
Well, you know you don't have bridesmaids. You don't upset
anybody by leaving them out.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
I guess you're right.
Speaker 4 (16:59):
Listen to the girlfriend and doing it in June.
Speaker 3 (17:03):
That's in between. Travis has to be ready.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
How do you not have groomsmen?
Speaker 6 (17:08):
Though?
Speaker 2 (17:08):
When you have all that NFL and your brother, Like,
how do you not with Travis Skelte.
Speaker 4 (17:13):
Taylor told Travis, we're not having bridesmaids, so you're not
having groomsmen.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
Okay, you've got this Swifty over here. Those are all
rumors about Taylor Swift coming up.
Speaker 3 (17:24):
If you plan to do nothing, you need a plan?
Speaker 2 (17:26):
Yeah, how to do that on vacation? Now that we
know Americans, we all struggle with doing nothing when on
time off, on vacation, whatever, how do you make it happen?
We touched on this and when I talked about your
parents doing nothing, well, Murphy, I meant on vacation. Oh,
(17:47):
I know that there were role models for how to vacate.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
They did a lot of nothing in retirement to.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
I never thought that anyway.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
You need a plan for doing nothing? Yeah, doing nothing?
Speaker 2 (17:57):
Just no, you need to play nothing. You know why,
because we struggle with it. You've just said that you
don't know what to do with yourself for the first
three days because we are living in a busy way,
and busy becomes your body's natural energy, but maybe it
shouldn't be so. And it's also your vacation. What if
you've got kids and they want to jump on roller
coasters all day long, that's not you know, no, so
(18:21):
you have to plan your do nothing in your vacation.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
Yeah, and do nothing actually is not the same thing
as like doom scrolling. It seems like, you know, you
feel the moment you're just scrolling, but that's doing something
that's filling it. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
One of the biggest things is unplugged from technology. Elite
work apps. Don't let them come with you, turn off notifications,
leave it in the hotel room, or leave it wherever
when you go out to experience the weather or the
beach or the sites that you you know whatever.
Speaker 3 (18:49):
Leave my smartphone.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
Well, okay, unplug from the apps that day. Okay, you
don't have to leave your phone.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
Schedule Sam sweating.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
I don't like the first step.
Speaker 2 (19:01):
Schedule the time. Make sure that you know Dad's got
some No, you know, this is a block of time
that I'm not doing anything. Let the people know that
you're traveling with, whether it's your kids or whether it's
your in laws or whatever. You know, I'm going to
do one excursion a day and that's it. Don't schedule
like I don't overfill your days.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
Yeah, that just adds stress having that much structure.
Speaker 2 (19:24):
Other things to think about when you're scheduling it. Room
with a view, you know, beach front. Make sure you're
not in the middle of so much action. If restoration
is the point, if doing nothing could.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
Be a field, it could be the mountains.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
Yeah, you're right so much so. The most important though,
is don't feel guilty about it. Take the time to
do nothing, and don't feel guilty about it, because every
moment of your life does not need to be productive.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
Coming up next, Jody has three things to know today.
Speaker 5 (19:55):
Here's three things to know today.
Speaker 2 (19:57):
Number one, you already probably know that NASA launched four
astronauts into space yesterday aboard the Artemis two mission. But
let's talk about those space suits. Okay, those suits are
designed to keep them alive for up to six days.
Each one acts as its own life preserver. A rescue beacon.
Even has touchscreen compatible gloves easier to find. They're so
(20:17):
bright in case they were to, you know, splash down
in the ocean. Worst case scenario. But if anybody's gonna
do that, you want to ask us to do it,
I know it. Number two United Airlines now posting TSA
weight times through their app. You don't have to pay
extra for that following it is really smart now it's
a way for them to get you to download and
use their app. But considering all the weight times in
(20:40):
the last month or so, it could certainly come in
handy as things hopefully slowly but surely get back to
normal at security checkpoints at airports everywhere.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
All the airlines should do.
Speaker 2 (20:49):
That, and slowly but surely maybe they are all the time,
not just during a shutdown. And number three, Yesterday was
April Fool's Day and there was an entertainment Hollywood joke
played on everybody and a lot of people believed it.
It was announced that Jesse Buckley was going to be
the next Bond, the first female and the first Oscar
(21:11):
winning performer to ever be cast as Bond. But that
was an April Fool's joke. The Irish Irish actress and
singer is not the next Bond. That search is still on.
Speaker 5 (21:23):
You're up to date. Three things to know today.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
Murphy almost sent you a text just a few minutes ago.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
Was that in here?
Speaker 2 (21:32):
But I thought, you know what, let's just talk about
this one of the things that you and I like
to do. And it's really only a few people close
to us know this. How weird, this crazy little thing
we like to do. We got addicted to it years ago.
When we did it on Sunday, I didn't I was
hoping our girls didn't check our location to know what
(21:53):
are they doing.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
Oh, they're at a really strange house. They're at an
address we've never heard of.
Speaker 2 (21:58):
Okay, Murphy and I love to look at houses, and
we're not looking for a house, a new house. We're not.
But there was a house for sale in our old
neighborhood and it was one of those that we had
driven by a million times and we noticed that it
was for sale. It's like, man, I want to go
in there, so we made an appointment to go see it.
Speaker 3 (22:18):
We like to look at houses even though you're not
buying it. What are you interested in?
Speaker 1 (22:22):
We're just interested in looking, yea.
Speaker 3 (22:24):
How do you when the real estate agent ask questions,
what are you just?
Speaker 1 (22:28):
Well, well, I have my license, so I'm actually the
person I'm calling.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
So well, driving around when you check and see if
it's a going show, and I'm like, yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:37):
Jack, they call those going shows if you don't if
people aren't actually living there in the house, it's vacant.
Many times you don't have to, you know, wait an
hour or what.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
We didn't inconvenience anyone. Okay, you know, he figured it
out with his app and all that, and before you
know it, boom boom, we were inside and it was
an empty house, but it was just we. So I
was about to text you this.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
By the way, I gave the listing the agent good
feedback so that she would know what to expect. So
I'm trying to make it productive for other people too.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
That makes us feel less guilty. Look for the people
who own that house. You never know, we could have
walked in there and fallen in love and changed our lives.
Speaker 6 (23:14):
Well.
Speaker 1 (23:14):
And it also lets me know that if a friend
winds up looking for a house or something, I know
what's what.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
We're not going to change our lives right now, not
these interest rates. But anyway, say, I almost texted you, like,
because the weekend's coming, you know, it's just a fun
thing to do. And what happened when we were looking
for houses, I think we got addicted to doing it.
It's just what we do. We get in the car
and we would go look at houses. And now it's
like I've been thinking about it. It's a weird thing
(23:41):
that we like to do as a couple.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
Well it's older houses though it's not really Oh.
Speaker 3 (23:47):
Yeah, is it just to admire or are you're looking
for ideas for your house?
Speaker 2 (23:51):
I don't know what it is. It's the chase. We're
addicted to, the chase of the perfect house.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
Actually, for me, it's also curious when a house stays
on the market for so long, like this house that
we looked at has been on the market for eight months.
You want to see what it is that's holding up
the sale, and we saw.
Speaker 2 (24:10):
For sale all right. Coming up next music.
Speaker 5 (24:12):
News, Sam'scott Music News.
Speaker 4 (24:17):
Taylor Swift has dropped a couple of new videos on
us and they're both for the same song, Elizabeth Taylor.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
Elizabeth Taylor.
Speaker 3 (24:27):
Yeah, that's the one song. One of them.
Speaker 4 (24:30):
Some fans are complaining about because they said it's just
an editing of all of Elizabeth Taylor clips from her movies,
and they want Taylor, you know, they want Taylor Swift
to do a little movie like she always does.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
For one.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
Maybe she just wants to pay homage, yeah to Elizabeth Taylor.
Speaker 4 (24:46):
I think she did, because at the end of this
video she's actually got a thing on it that thanks
the Elizabeth Taylor Trust, and then Elizabeth's estate came back
and said, thank you for making it. It's awesome, we
love it and all that. A second version of the
video that she dropped, it's called the Glamour Cabaret version
because they add this flourishing piano in it.
Speaker 2 (25:08):
Taylor playing it.
Speaker 4 (25:09):
I don't know who's playing it, Okay, it's like Liberachi's
about to kick something off, you know. Then this regular
song after that. Hey to hear about Justin Bieber's surprise
concert the other night.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
I did. I'm so excited for Justin now he is.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
Going to be headlining Coachella, not this weekend but the
next two weekends. So like a little warm up show
to get ready for it. He did a little private
concert at the Roxy the other night in La like invitation,
only only a couple hundred people. And here's what it
sounded like.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
Obviously from someone's phone.
Speaker 2 (25:47):
Yes, well, I'm always.
Speaker 3 (25:48):
Using here's the thing. He did.
Speaker 4 (25:50):
Nothing of the old Justin. It wasn't no Sorry, no Desposito,
no Peaches, nothing. It was all from his albums that
came out last year, Swag and Swag too. So I
don't know if that's means that's what you're in for
at Coachella if you're.
Speaker 2 (26:02):
Going, but good, h good, you.
Speaker 4 (26:05):
Still want to hear one of the old hits, you know,
well it's in there, and you know Journey, they're on
their farewell tour right now, the final frontier. It actually,
this is really weird. It almost never happened. Lead singer
Arnelle Pineda. Yes, he said he was. He wanted out
of the band before the tour. He's like two reasons much.
(26:26):
Number one, he said he's struggling with his voice. His
body's changing, and he says cold weather aggravates his voice
and he can't hit the notes anymore. The other one,
he says, he just had gone through a difficult divorce
personally and he wasn't in the right headspace for it.
But he said he sent emails to the other guys
in the band. Nobody responded. So guess what.
Speaker 1 (26:44):
Tour time up next? Jody has another Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 5 (26:50):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
Got a Brad Pitt big screen reminder for you that
Fight Club is going to be in theaters for one
night only soon.
Speaker 1 (26:59):
I want you to hit me as hard as you can.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
Okay, fight Club, the nineteen ninety nine David Fincher Classics
starring Brad Pitt and Edward Norton in theaters one night
only April twenty second. So this month, like log on
if you want to see this on the big screen again,
and I think you might before there's a right after it.
It's going to be the four k Ultra HD Steel
(27:27):
Book release.
Speaker 3 (27:28):
Now, it's not a lot there, but I thought you
weren't supposed to talk about Fight Club.
Speaker 2 (27:32):
I've got to tell you though, so that you can
enjoy this April twenty second, if you want to go
enjoy it on the big screen. Some other big movie news.
Remember the Oscar winning and nominated horror original horror movie
called Weapons.
Speaker 3 (27:46):
Because the night before at two seventeen in the morning,
we're all the.
Speaker 2 (27:50):
Kids, kid.
Speaker 3 (27:51):
Yeah, I still can't watch this one.
Speaker 2 (27:53):
Odd's apparently really great and you know that actress Amy
Madigan won Best Supporting so it's an Academy Award winning movie.
They are still making the prequel the Gladys story, the
backstory called Gladys and apparently they're working on it now.
We'll have it before long in theaters. Join this conversation
(28:17):
anytime eight seven seven three one zero four MSJ. You
can call or text to that number, or reach us
a bunch of other ways, email, social media all that.
Speaker 4 (28:27):
I have one here from Facebook, Facebook Marketplace. I almost said,
just because you were talking the other day about the
Facebook marketplace scams, Jody, be careful there. Yeah, Well, James
says he's got a scam. He wants to clue us
in on a scam that's going around real bad.
Speaker 3 (28:41):
Right now.
Speaker 4 (28:42):
You get a phone call, a leave of voicemail saying
that you have unpaid back taxes. Says he's gotten in
the last few weeks, four or five.
Speaker 2 (28:49):
Of those phone calls unpaid back taxes. Is it like
any time of the year scare.
Speaker 1 (28:55):
That's the kind of thing that you're not going to
get a phone call on either. By the way, if
you get if you owe back taxes, it's going to
be verified mail or something that's official in writing to you.
Speaker 6 (29:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (29:03):
Yeah, it's always like the IRS calling.
Speaker 2 (29:06):
It's always the delivery method. You have to be aware
of right, they're not going to your bank is not
going to email you, right.
Speaker 1 (29:14):
Your bank is not going to be requesting certain information
from you electronic.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
Right because they have it already.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
And then the thing is you always reach directly to
the source. Don't ever respond back. It's a it's a
pressure tactic they use. They want you to They want
the sense of urgency to make your panic and then
all of a sudden click.
Speaker 2 (29:31):
And that's why the tax right now, tax season.
Speaker 1 (29:33):
Yes, absolutely, I got a scam text yesterday, but it
was different. I didn't respond to it.
Speaker 2 (29:40):
Oh, judging on the smirk on your face, it.
Speaker 1 (29:44):
Said, Hi, what are you doing tonight?
Speaker 3 (29:45):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (29:46):
Yeah yeah, And I'm like, okay, which doesn't It's It's
funny how in your head you're meaning like, oh, who's
this lady? But it's like it's a bot, a purse
or whatever. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
But it came from just a number that you didn't know. Okay.
Speaker 1 (29:59):
I literally have gotten to the point now where if
it's not in my contact list now I don't answer
it and I wait to see you know's what's legit.
I just don't dive in anymore.
Speaker 2 (30:09):
There's so much good about the world being so connected,
right and all of the things that we don't have
to feel isolated and alone. However, when you open up
those channels, when you have those things, you also the
other things get in, you know, and the scam.
Speaker 4 (30:26):
My concern is when we get older, because now it's like, yeah,
we know this is a scam. But when we get older,
the scams will be more intricate and more sophisticated. We'll
be older and not so much on top of it.
Speaker 2 (30:37):
I'm sorry, Sam fall for it.
Speaker 3 (30:39):
I need to start worrying about that right now.
Speaker 2 (30:43):
So Murphy, what are you doing tonight?
