Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Murphy Salmon Jody Daily Show podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Social media connect posted a wild Saturday night picture of
me and Murphy over the weekend.
Speaker 1 (00:13):
I didn't know you were shooting this picture.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Murphy is sitting behind me on the sofa at his
little laptop desk, rolling desk.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
What do you call it?
Speaker 1 (00:22):
Yeah, it's a rolling laptop desk.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
Yeah, the one that's supposed to be collapsible and put
back in the closet.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Well, it's when I'm not using it. Yes, I think
you expected to be collapsed and put away all the time.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
It's okay.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
So I'm laying on the sofa reading a book and
I just shot a picture like you know, wild Saturday night. Yeah,
and man, everybody was all over this. Oh really, Laurie
says Murphy with the desk that we all want now
and Jody, for a second, I thought you were just
sitting there with no top on his Wait, I see
the pink top. Now, those are the best Saturday nights.
(00:55):
I did have a shirt on. It was your one
of your shirts. It's kind of color of my skin,
so I was not pasting that.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
That's how rumors could start it, huh.
Speaker 4 (01:06):
Share anything to get Murphy's attention.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Stephen says, I thought Murphy wasn't allowed to use that
new desk. Yeah, he's using You're using it a lot,
and I'm glad for you. Now if people come over,
I'm gonna want to put away. But it's kind of
it's it's been hanging out, it's out. Denise says, wow,
is Murphy working on a Saturday night? And I just answer,
I don't know what you were doing. You might have
I was working, That's okay.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
I got sucked into something that wasn't completed from Friday
and yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
Yeah, Dana said, it's called being company, enjoying your home
and life together. Also, my son has the same shirt
Murphy is wearing. So it's like Christmas in July, August
or any day, right, it was a.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
I love that one. That's the you got that one
at Target. That's the one that it's.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
Santa Don't Stop Believing, Don't Stop Believing, and it's got Santa.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Yeah, Murphy wears a little Journey take off. That's some
of that all that retro look.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
My favorite thing is when you don't at home, and
rightly so, you often don't think about what you put on.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
You're just wearing whatever. Yeah, I mean I do too.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
And clearly you'll be.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
Wearing like a Christmas shirt like oh Sanna shirt, and
you'll also wear green or red shorts.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
I'm thinking you're trying.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
Oh that's not it's just me being It's what's clean
and available.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Casual and comfortable. One more from Christina. I love that
Murphy is wearing the Santa shirt in August. Also true
weekend vibes you guys, So yeah, I wanted to share that.
I also we also have a comment from Facebook Messenger.
It's from Meghan about the other day in the show.
We know Jody can rock Three Things to Know, but
I enjoyed hearing Murphy take a stab at.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
That OH shirt.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
Jody was traveling, so.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
She says, Sam, you're next.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
Speaking of three Things that's coming up at six fifty
and Sam has music news next.
Speaker 4 (02:49):
Yep, got a surprise gift for Ariana Grande fans.
Speaker 5 (02:55):
Sam's goott music news.
Speaker 4 (02:56):
Yeah. Just last week we found out from Mariana Grande
that she is going to take a couple of years
off after the Eternal Sunshine who wraps up?
Speaker 2 (03:04):
I'm gonna play this stuff while she's on break I'm
gonna play her greatest hits well.
Speaker 4 (03:09):
She made an announcement over the weekend that might get
you through that break. She said that when she hits
two the two Arena starting next weekend for a ten
date residency, she's gonna record it all for a new
streaming special.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Nice. Nice.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
So we are gonna get a Arianna Grande concert special
streaming probably sometime later, well probably next year. But she
says she wants fans since she's gonna be out for
a while, she wants fans to have eternal sunshine immortalized.
Speaker 3 (03:37):
And well, and she needs to rest rust that voice.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
Even she's got one of the best voices being recorded
today in our time, she needs to take care of it.
Speaker 4 (03:44):
Got some news from ESPN. You know college football game Day.
It kicks off on the twenty eighth this month. We're
at this close to college football now. And every year
they pick a new anthem for game day. I mean,
in the past, we've had jelly Roll, Post Malone, Fallout Boy,
thirty seconds to Mars.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
We had Lanny Wilson, did we not? I thought it
was good.
Speaker 4 (04:02):
We may have had her. Yeah, this year we are
getting Shaboozy and a song from his new album. It's
called High News B.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
That sounds like a high I could just see the video. Yeah, okay,
all the mascots and all the fans.
Speaker 4 (04:20):
August twenty eighth, right around the corner, and the Dolly
Parton mural in Nashville has been fixed. I don't know
if you heard about this, but a man last Monday
he walked up to the mural very popular, and he
threw through black paint all over Dolly's nose. The matter
with him, and well, he has some mental issues. It
wasn't then I shouldn't have said that. He said it
(04:41):
wasn't because he had a problem with Dolly or any
artist or the building that it was on. It's just
he has some issues.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
I thought you said something.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
I thought you were saying that somebody was being mean.
Speaker 4 (04:50):
No, I mean he threw the black paint all over
and all that. Now the artists that originally created it,
she lives nearby, so she like two days later jumped
out there and fixed it.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
So, oh wow, Dolly Dolly.
Speaker 4 (05:03):
Is back to normal now in East Nashville. Also, some
other good Dolly news. She's going to be at the
Americana Music Awards. She's getting the Lifetime Achievement Awards September sixteenth.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
She will be there to get it, as far.
Speaker 4 (05:15):
As I know right now, I don't see that she's
going to be there on a video, So as far
as I know, she is going to be there.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
Cool coming up next Your Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 6 (05:26):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
A couple of really cool stories here are just food
for thought. What could have been really one of the
Breakfast Club stars, and that is Anthony. Michael Hall said
in an interview recently that John Hughes was playing with
a sequel and he had talked about doing a sea
lately the Breakfast Club.
Speaker 4 (05:45):
How come Andrew gets to get up.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
If he gets up, we'll all get up.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
It'll be an enarchy.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
So the word was they're all in their thirties and
they all meet, they're all like in the workforce, and
they all end up like intersecting in their lives. I
would have loved to have seen that right because this
was a one day in detention in high school. That's
the whole movie was set one day on high store.
Speaker 4 (06:09):
So anybody could have pulled it off, it would have
been John Hughes.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
It was his creation. Yeah, if they were talking about thirties,
then that sequel would have been in the nineties, not now, right.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
No, no, now, he's just saying this was something that was
talked about that makes my heart hurt.
Speaker 3 (06:21):
Okay, So how about something to lift you up.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
There is a Jetson's movie, a live action Jetson's movie
coming from Warner Brothers, and the person who was supposed
to start in it is none other than Jim Carrey.
Speaker 5 (06:34):
I'm talking about a little place called.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
Jim Carrey as George Jetson. Does that make you feel good?
Speaker 4 (06:41):
Yeah? I could see that for sure. All Right.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
We have no idea when they're going to start filming,
but we do know it's live action, which means it's
live action.
Speaker 3 (06:47):
Jim Carrey.
Speaker 6 (06:50):
Direct message us on Facebook.
Speaker 3 (06:52):
We read and see every single comment that rolls in.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
You can also email us at Murphy Samonjody dot com,
which Christine has done.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
Yep, this's for you, Joe. From Christine, she says, I
have a hard time walking on my treadmill for any
meaningful amount of time. I love walking in the neighborhood.
I can walk in the park or the mall, but
I find that walking the treadmill. I find walking on
the treadmill is incredibly boring. Yes, I've watched TV, I've
listened to the radio, or I've listened to books being
read to me. But I've only made it for thirty minutes.
(07:19):
Any thought, it's awfully hot these days, true.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
Christine, same girl, same. I cannot stand a walk on
a treadmill. I only ever do it if it's the
last option for movements, because to me, there's something about
not going anywhere. You're walking in place. I know that,
but it works for a lot of people. I'm in
awe of these people who, you know, get on there
(07:45):
and ramp up the what do you call that, Murphy the.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
Incline, the incline.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
Yeah, I mean that's the way. I mean, your butt
will thank you.
Speaker 4 (07:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
But same Christine. To me, I'll just brave the heat.
The few never changes, Yeah, the view never changes on
a treadmill. I have had a little luck watching a
couple of TV shows while walking, but still it's like, uh, yeah, you.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
Know, well, there are some things that I need to
get back on the treadmill again. But for one thing,
I noticed Christine says, thirty minutes, that's plenty that's all
you need. But you know in the other thing that
if you absolutely just can't do and you don't like
a treadmill, then obviously nothing that you do is going
to work. But what Jody just described the incline and
that they say two things will help if you can
(08:28):
if all the rest still bores you, all the outside stuff,
earbuds and everything, set the you can set it, you know,
program program it to go up, or you just go
up and incline, Like every three minutes you do something different, different,
which then keeps your brain. You know, you work at
it is a different program or cover the clock. I
actually say that too, because then it doesn't I know
(08:48):
that for me on the when I was doing the bike,
it was the same thing, the stationary bike. It's like
I don't want to go thirty more minutes. But it's like, okay,
I made it to five, I made it to ten,
I made it to fifteen.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
Not as enjoyable as because it's man you factored for
you because you're going on a walk, you never know
where you're going to see around the bend. So yeah,
I'm with you, but I will say this, keep searching
for something you love to do. That's why a lot
of people who exercise, who are naturally just active, they'll
be doing yoga for a while, and then they'll be
hiking for a while.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
It's because you're looking for something to keep you moving.
Let us know.
Speaker 4 (09:20):
Christine coming up next.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
Three things to know Today.
Speaker 5 (09:25):
Three things to know today.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
Number one, it was a stretch of dangerous hot weather
last week, baking the West, now spreading into the middle
of the country. We got extreme heat warnings early this
week all the way from California to Illinois, and then
of course over the weekend there were like seventy two
people treated for heat related illness at a tacos and
tequila festival, oh in Colorado Springs. I mean, it could
(09:48):
have been some of the tequila too without hydration, but
the extreme was extreme, I don't think so. So we've
got some storms coming this week to lighten things up
a bit. Number two, you can get five bucks for
testing Domino's new app. You heard about that through the
end of the month. If you place the order, you
get five dollars off of your next online or app order.
(10:11):
They have a whole new app. They want you to
help test it with them and then sort of rate
it for them. Just go. There's a coupon for everybody
under my Deals and if you're a non member, you
can find it on email, meaning if you don't have
the app yet. And number three, if you've already sort
of rolled your eyes about all the Halloween decor that's
up in stores, home depots got you ready for Christmas
(10:32):
already they sold out already have two giant Christmas decorations,
a big eight and a half foot Santa carrying a
lantern and this other massive reindeer pulling a sleigh. Both
cost about three hundred bucks and they're gone, but they
said home Depots set to restock them soon, so don't worry.
And we're about four and a half months away.
Speaker 5 (10:53):
You're up to date. Three things to know today.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
I had to travel the other day right after the show,
and so you guys did a little podcast.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
Twice, so that's right.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
So yeah, how Murphy really feels about Jody? And I
want you to know I heard that podcast.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
I heard about it.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
I figured that podcasts they're talking about you in front
of me.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
Not easy to do and after the show podcast without you,
you know, really, I mean, it's not the same when
I can't hang out we can. It's just everything is
the three of issues.
Speaker 4 (11:24):
I pitched my idea of a Star Wars podcast, but.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
I think a lot of people would enjoy a Star
Wars podcast anyway. I just wanted you to know you
answered some some dms about our marriage.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
There were questions about our relationship in our marriage and
how do we work together?
Speaker 2 (11:38):
So I listened and I just wanted to say, so
today's after the Show podcast, we can go a little
deeper about that.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
Non proposal and how I really felt about that.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
Oh, the non proposal.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
Yeah, the fact that I was never proposed to.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
Well, I mean, I know that that was an issue
at some point.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
But we'll get to it because I have I do
have some things to say about it. There's I feel
differently about it today than I did twenty seven then
years ago.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
Is that the year we're on in marriage?
Speaker 1 (12:02):
We are in November?
Speaker 2 (12:04):
Yeah, you guys also said a no no word at
the end of that podcast. I heard soulmates being George Murphy.
We're going to talk about that today in the after
the Show podcast. What Jody really thinks about, what Murphy
really thinks about Jody isn't That podcast will be But
I did want to bring up something I had forgotten
that when we first met, and the quick story is
that we worked together. First, Murphy and I were friends.
(12:26):
He was my boss first, and Murphy and I all
respect and I really liked you, and then we were friends.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
When we got in the room together doing.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
The show, we were fast friends and I felt like,
oh my gosh, is this man my best friend? And
it happened very quickly that you were and that is
how we got together.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
But I had forgotten something.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
You also mentioned in the podcast that there was there
were things about me in that trial phase when I
was on trial or whatever you call it, or that
you didn't like.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
What I was saying in the podcast, that it was
not like this immediate attraction thing.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
I wish I loved that kind of story, but it wasn't.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
No.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
I wish I could say.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
That story was our story, but yeah, there were like
and women are that way. I am different with different girlfriends.
And there was a girl that when she was around,
she and I would just talk about TV shows and
shopping and we got way too girly and Murphy was
almost turned off by it.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
But you know, I'm that way with stunt.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
There are girlfriends that I'm still in my life today
that you would be so you would bolt.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
I was a different person back then too, you know.
Speaker 3 (13:33):
I just thought that that was funny that you brought
that in.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
Yeah, women are that way with different friends, you know,
like Sam and his Star Wars stuff. We would bolt, right, Yeah, probably,
all right, so we'll go there the non proposal and
the soulmates question today.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
All right, coming up, got your morning pick me up?
Speaker 3 (13:53):
Morning, picked me up time.
Speaker 4 (13:55):
Heard the story about the dog and the duck. Yeah,
dog walks into a bar now and the duck says,
all we have is quackers. Yeah, that's why.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
Please tell me that's not the.
Speaker 4 (14:07):
Big knock to pick me up that This is the
story of Barley and Louis. Barley is a Golden Retriever
and Louis is a is a duck, just one of
those basic white ducks.
Speaker 3 (14:16):
Who gave him a name. Most people don't name ducks
the owners.
Speaker 4 (14:19):
Okay, Barley suffers from epilepsy and came back in February
of twenty twenty four. Golden Retriever. They put her on medicine,
sure him or her on medicine, But the problem was
it was kind of killing Barley's personality. She wasn't the
golden golden retriever.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
Oh it's very sedating. That's sometimes how that those medications
work in humans.
Speaker 4 (14:41):
The owners said it that killed her spunk. And then
about three or four months later, after the medication started,
they adopted this small duck. There there was a friend
that had two baby ducks and was like looking to
adopt them out, so they took one of them. They
named Louis, and ever since then, Louis and Barley have
(15:01):
been best friends. And for Barley, cartoon for Barley, who
was like, I'm on this Madison. Barley's alive again because
her best friend is this duck. Barley plays with the duck.
Barley protects the duck. And this is what's funny. They
talked to some veterinarians and they said that, you know,
dogs and ducks sometimes are predators. Pray, yeah, adversaries. But
(15:23):
the duck gives off an odor that can sometimes trigger
a protective instinct in the animals around them.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
Oh my gosh, what Yeah, so.
Speaker 4 (15:31):
The duck was thrown off the vibe and.
Speaker 3 (15:33):
Yeah, Barley responded.
Speaker 4 (15:36):
Yeah, so they keep the duck outside, but Barley's always
trying to sneak the duck inside, and the duck eats
of a dog bowl, and you know, water and food
out of a dog bowl. Really, the duck thinks it's
a dog.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
I'm sitting here my mind thinking, please let the duck
in for the dog's sake. But you know, when you're
around birds, you realize they poop.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
You're not going to be able to train the duck
the same way you train the dog to go back
out so you.
Speaker 4 (16:02):
Can put a diaper on the duck.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
I guess, really, well, can you get those at Walmart
Whole Foods? No?
Speaker 3 (16:08):
I don't think so. It's sweet.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
Okay, I'm gonna look them up. They're all over Yeah,
Barley and.
Speaker 4 (16:14):
Barley and Louis. They're on Instagram account if you want
to check them out. Thank you at Duck and Dog.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
That's your morning pick me up. And next, Jody has
your Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 6 (16:26):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider Guess what.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
There was a planned Star Wars movie script floating around
this unconventional project centered on a robot rather than a
an established Star Wars character, and Disney and Lucasfilm said
it's not bad, but no, no, thank you. You know
I wonder how many times they have to do that,
how many people knock on their doors.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
They've got an idea for this, but that.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
Concept is from writer, like some writers Paul King and
Simon Barnaby in the business anyway. So writers, the concept
is now being redeveloped as an original sci fi movie.
We'll eventually get it. It just won't be in the
Star Wars universe, which I'm sure crush their souls. Moving
on it happens. We know we have the Ryan Gosling
(17:14):
one next year. That's the big one.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
We also have some five nights at Freddy's.
Speaker 1 (17:19):
News it's been a weird night.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
There's gonna be a real life freddie Fasbar's Pizza opening
a permanent location you like that at the American Dream
Mall in New Jersey.
Speaker 3 (17:35):
So Freddy's coming to life.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
You can show up, eat pizza, play arcade games, deal
with the animatronics. And to me, you've got to schedule
evenings there where you stay over. So there's going to
be a real, you know, place where you can experience
five nights at Freddy's now coming up.
Speaker 4 (17:53):
Got the secret hack for you to get more airplane
snacks on your next flight.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
I have a little t raval hack for you if
you want to maximize your snack game if you're flying. So, Murphy,
I had to fly the other day and it was
an overnight's day, so two flights you know, at connect
and then two flights back, so four different flights.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
In terms for me and Sam two after the show
podcast later, I'm sorry.
Speaker 4 (18:20):
Anyway, that was very inconvenient.
Speaker 3 (18:23):
In any way I was on Murphy, Sam and Jody business.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
As you know. Any way, this airline, when the attendant
comes down the aisle, I'm always.
Speaker 3 (18:32):
In the window seats.
Speaker 2 (18:33):
I can't hear very well, but I love being in
that little I love that looking out at the sky.
It's like, would you like a snack? And she say,
and she says, we have cheese, its pretzels, cookies or
chocolate chip granola bar. So to me, that's a choice. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
So I'm like, well, what do you think I chose?
Speaker 2 (18:56):
Y'all know me, Jesus correct bring me the salty snack,
cheesy snack any day.
Speaker 3 (19:02):
So I'm like, cheez it's thank you.
Speaker 2 (19:04):
And I get my little water and I have my
little bag of cheeses and then everybody else around me,
the two people to my left, and everybody else around
me is like, I'll have the cookie and the pretzels,
and she's thrown them out.
Speaker 3 (19:15):
Some people.
Speaker 2 (19:16):
The man on the aisle got all four, and I'm like, hello,
I didn't.
Speaker 3 (19:20):
Know you could get all of them.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
Yeah, not that I would have eaten all of them,
but man, just did you guys know that you can request.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
More than one?
Speaker 1 (19:30):
I guess you can, but you know everybody around me
and they're probably prepared for that if so, But you
know they're not going to They're only going to offer
what you want. I don't think they're going to try
to push four snacks in the average person.
Speaker 3 (19:41):
They did, like, you know what I'm.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
Saying is like all four snacks.
Speaker 3 (19:45):
I thought it was I thought it was a choice.
Speaker 2 (19:47):
I've always just picked one everybody around me. The only
thing that wasn't getting picked was what do you think pretzels?
Speaker 1 (19:54):
Yeah, they'll have.
Speaker 2 (19:57):
At the end of the month, they'll have like nothing
but prousts on this phone.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
Yeah, and there's I don't think that there's anything universal
because different airlines do it differently, and different lanes of
the trip do it differently.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
This was the airline where you would have picked the
cookies every day and twice on Sunday.
Speaker 3 (20:11):
Yeah, it was Delta.
Speaker 2 (20:12):
But anyway, just so you know, I had one little
mini bag of cheeses and then just like anger and
resenting it for the rest.
Speaker 3 (20:20):
Of the lot.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
You know, you could have called her back over she
passed ten times.
Speaker 3 (20:25):
I didn't want to do that. Coming up next, Three
things to know today.
Speaker 5 (20:31):
Here's three things to know today.
Speaker 2 (20:33):
Number one, if you want everybody to understand you at work,
here's common office jargon that new workers younger workers don't
understand in the pipeline touch base.
Speaker 4 (20:44):
Is it because they've never used them before?
Speaker 2 (20:46):
Yes, okay, I mean phrases and terminology can get old,
just like we sometimes you don't sometimes understand the new stuff.
Speaker 3 (20:52):
Yeah, put it on the back burner.
Speaker 2 (20:54):
You need to change this or explain it if you're
using it, especially in management.
Speaker 4 (20:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (20:59):
Number two, there's a TSA rule that's leaving kids in
tears all over airports all over the country. TSA officers
are having to take Nido squishy toys from carry ons
during screenings. They're filled with gel and of course it
has to be three point four ounces or less to
be allowed through and parents don't know that to pack
it in the luggage.
Speaker 3 (21:19):
The kids take them. They're small, they're portable, and so.
Speaker 2 (21:22):
There's a bunch of those at TSA now and the
kids are sad and they lost their little Nedo toy.
Speaker 3 (21:27):
Just remember, if your.
Speaker 2 (21:29):
Kid's toy has squishy gel inside, it can't go through
and at that amount. And number three, it's August, the
Sunday of summer. We talked about that. You get the
Sunday Scaries all month, So June is like Friday night,
July is like Saturday, and then August is like Sunday,
(21:49):
including the Sunday scaries. The reason being we all know
summer's over. You got to get your act together. School
is here and it's time to be responsible again.
Speaker 4 (22:00):
But Christmas is only a couple months away.
Speaker 5 (22:02):
You're in the note three things to know today.
Speaker 6 (22:07):
Follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
Murphy, how would you like for it to be sandwich
Week at the house?
Speaker 3 (22:15):
And you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (22:16):
You mean, just a different one every day, every night
and the after the show podcast run on the after
show podcast last week, I think we were going back
through some Lister comments. Yeah, talk sandwich to me favorite sandwiches?
Speaker 2 (22:27):
Yeah, yeah, we had asked about because everybody in the
world likes their sandwich a little bit differently, and it's
fascinating to me and to me, the secret to a
fantastic sandwich is having at least one ingredient on there
that's unexpected.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
Oh see, I thought. My favorite thing is about a
sandwich is when it's made by somebody else. That's true.
It's always better when somebody else makes it.
Speaker 3 (22:49):
Yeah, or is that just your way of getting me
to make your sound.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
No, I believe that serious true.
Speaker 2 (22:54):
The first time I ever had that experience was as
a child when somebody sitting next to me, it's some
sort of church camp, said put this potato chip on
your sandwich.
Speaker 4 (23:02):
Jip.
Speaker 2 (23:03):
Oh yeah, and I was like what the world opened
up like, you don't have to just do a piece
of Blodean cheese.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
Life. Sandwiches can be more and I learned that.
Speaker 2 (23:13):
So now you know, I always put weird little things
on sandwiches and it's like, what's this my favorite one? Well,
some of my favorite ones that rolled in to social media.
Tracy said leftover pork loin for pulled pork sandwiches.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
Yeah, that sounds really good.
Speaker 2 (23:27):
Do you know the last time that I made bread
sauce Murphy with meatballs. I was thinking, what's going to
be the actual star?
Speaker 3 (23:36):
Here is a day.
Speaker 2 (23:37):
The next day we had some French bread sandwich, meatball sandwiches.
I wasn't even about the sauce, Like we ate the pasta.
That nice on them. Yeah, you could toast them. There's
nothing that says you can't make that at home. You
don't have to just get that at subway.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
Well, and if you get the deli bread that's baked
fresh there at the deli, Oh my gosh.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
Yeah, Paula says, a toasted croissant with turkey and cranberry
sauce and spicy brown mustard. That's a serious sandwich. That's
some thought put into it. Okay, And you guys may
have mentioned this, but I just want to say, Robina
leftover meatloaf sandwich on sour dough with mayo and brown
(24:17):
mustard or a good German mustard. It's a nostalgia sandwich
from my childhood. Making meat loaf tomorrow for dinner just
so I can have the sandwich the next day.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
Yeah, Sam, you said that that was a childhood thing
for you.
Speaker 4 (24:30):
Yeah, we used to get meatloaf sandwiches too, the day
after meat loaf.
Speaker 2 (24:33):
I've never had one either in my life. Do you
think you would like that, Murph?
Speaker 1 (24:37):
I mean I wasn't really a meat loaf person. Maclum
was never really the exciting, most exciting thing to me.
Speaker 3 (24:42):
I don't know, why did you ever have a spam sandwich?
Speaker 4 (24:45):
Oh? All the time?
Speaker 2 (24:46):
Ye fryot, Yeah, you do treat instead, but it's it's
very delicious, so good, and it really shines on a sandwich.
Speaker 3 (24:52):
All right, keep it coming, talk sandwich to me.
Speaker 2 (24:55):
You can always jump in at eight seven seven three
one zero four MSJ fifty.
Speaker 1 (25:00):
Jody has three things to note today.
Speaker 4 (25:04):
You know, we had an an email earlier from Christine
talking about how she really can't stand the treadmill, but
she's bored by it. Yeah, thirty minutes and she's had enough.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
Same girl.
Speaker 4 (25:13):
And it made me wonder. And Murphy kind of touched
on this. He said he has to get back on
the treadmill because don't you guys have a treadmill?
Speaker 2 (25:21):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (25:21):
Yeah, what's the status? Didn't you get rid of an equipment,
a piece of exercise equipment to buy the treadmill?
Speaker 3 (25:27):
We were supposed to.
Speaker 1 (25:29):
Yeah, that piece of equipment didn't go away. I'm having
trouble selling it.
Speaker 3 (25:32):
Charge like fees and how people come work out.
Speaker 4 (25:34):
What is the other piece?
Speaker 2 (25:35):
It's his stationary? Okay, then he rode for six times.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
But the bicycle gets tough on your behind after a while,
you know what I mean. So, yeah, but the so the.
Speaker 2 (25:45):
We have a bike in his treadmill, the treadmill.
Speaker 1 (25:47):
You know, we keep it clean and dusted off.
Speaker 3 (25:51):
They raises his leg on it everyone.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
Fortunately, yeah, not onto the treadmill, but right next to it, thankfully.
But yeah, that's so. That's the closest I've been to
the treadmill. Is you ually cleaning up after him?
Speaker 6 (26:03):
True?
Speaker 3 (26:04):
But you know, I don't like.
Speaker 4 (26:05):
Was we're gonna We're definitely gonna use this.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
No, I wanted you to get rid of the bike
since we weren't using it, and all I said. This
was my disclaimer, and I regret it now. I said,
if we have to have a piece of exercise equipment
in the house, I'd rather just be a treadmill. I
just said that in my way. I didn't mean order
a truil, but he did, so we have it.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
I do not know what the stumbling block is to
getting back on that. It's crazy because I was really you.
Speaker 4 (26:33):
Know, often did he use it?
Speaker 1 (26:36):
I mean when we first got it, I was it
was a weekly regimen scheduled for Sunday nights at six pm.
And it still shows up in my calendar. And I'm
not doing it at Sunday nights at six pm, you know,
So I don't know. I'm with Jody. I do like
going outside and walking in. She will entice me to
do that, and I will do that. That is fun,
(26:57):
popping in earbudgs and going for an hour if it's
not too hot or whatever, even twenty minutes.
Speaker 3 (27:01):
It doesn't have to be an hour every time.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
Right exactly.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
That's one of the things I think that gets in
the way of people with exercise. You get intimidated by
it in your own mind because you expect you're here
one day and you're gonna be Tom Brady level the
next go walk for twenty minutes. It improves your oxygen,
your life, your mood, your digestion. You don't have to
become an Olympic athlete just because you're starting an exercise.
Speaker 4 (27:22):
Preyer, but you do have to use the equipment.
Speaker 1 (27:24):
You should use that would be one yes correct.
Speaker 2 (27:27):
Coming up next your Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 5 (27:32):
Trending now, Jody's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 2 (27:34):
House of the Dragon ended its third season last night.
We'll have an empire unassatable. So if you're in it,
if you're into this show, you're not okay today. It
was one of those kind of things, and you do
have to wait. Of course, HBO has renewed this for
its fourth season, which will be the last one. That
(27:55):
part is confirmed. It'll be done after the next season,
but it's a minute before you're gonna get it. You're
they're going to start working on it. I guess next
year and you'll get eight. That gives you enough time
if you're interested to beinge the first three seasons.
Speaker 4 (28:10):
Are you going to go back?
Speaker 2 (28:11):
It takes a long time to make those dragons look
right for the screen. Am I going to go back?
Speaker 1 (28:17):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (28:17):
Let's move on to the next story.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
Netflix trapped a guy inside of a billboard for The
Last House ad above Sunset Boulevard in La last week weekend.
This movie is called The Last House. It was released
on Netflix Friday, and it's, you know, a funny way
to bring attention to it.
Speaker 3 (28:37):
It's about this.
Speaker 2 (28:39):
Family, you know, mysteriously sealed inside of their home and
forced to survive on their dwindling resources. It's a scary concept.
It's a scary movie we haven't seen before.
Speaker 4 (28:51):
Yeah, I'm going to pass on that. Why I don't
want to see.
Speaker 2 (28:55):
Nobody who said that. It's on Netflix. It's called The
Last House.
Speaker 6 (29:01):
Sam's always up on the new eats.
Speaker 5 (29:03):
He's the food dude.
Speaker 4 (29:05):
Chick fil A has dropped some new coffees on us.
They finally got some cold brews on the menu. They're
called cream excuse me a cream cold brew beverages Okay,
regular coffee, mocha, caramel or vanilla.
Speaker 2 (29:19):
Any of them low sugar any chance, I'll you know,
I'll wait and roll.
Speaker 3 (29:23):
In and ask.
Speaker 4 (29:24):
Well, you can customize it with cane sugar, creamer half
in half, so maybe you can do it with splendid
two or something.
Speaker 1 (29:30):
A lot of times those syrups, so if they don't
have the sugar free versions of the syrups, shar kind of. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (29:37):
By the way, these are limited time only and they
are serving them all day long, so if you want to.
Speaker 1 (29:42):
Try them, oh cool, Okay.
Speaker 4 (29:43):
Hey, Arby's has a new meat Buffalo.
Speaker 3 (29:47):
Well, there's no new meat.
Speaker 4 (29:48):
I know, it's still chicken Buffalo Ranch chicken sandwich.
Speaker 1 (29:52):
Okay, okay, new sandwich.
Speaker 4 (29:54):
So they're taking the chicken and doing something else with it. Nice, easy,
Jimmy John's, here's a here's a cookie. Got to try
this out. They've dropped a new peanut butter and jelly cookie.
Now it's a peanut butter cookie on the outside, okay,
and it's got little pieces of peanuts on it. Inside
it's all grape jelly, all grape jelly inside.
Speaker 3 (30:12):
That's a good idea for a cookie. Where is this?
Speaker 4 (30:14):
Jimmy John's.
Speaker 3 (30:15):
Okay, freaky fast fast.
Speaker 4 (30:16):
Through October the fourth. You can get those.
Speaker 1 (30:18):
You better have your wet napkins on you for that one.
Speaker 4 (30:21):
Yeah, that's the one you don't eat while you drive.
Speaker 1 (30:23):
Correct.
Speaker 4 (30:24):
What do you think about spicy gummy bears?
Speaker 2 (30:27):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (30:28):
Yeah, spicy like Habinero, like.
Speaker 4 (30:31):
Frank's Red Hot.
Speaker 3 (30:32):
I'm good with it. Red Hot.
Speaker 4 (30:34):
Yeah, there's a brand. I don't know the brand, but hure,
they do gummies. So they teamed up with Frank's Red
Hot to get a spicy gummy bears. Cute.
Speaker 3 (30:41):
I'm fine with it.
Speaker 4 (30:43):
Green Giant has dual give them the kids only as
a joke.
Speaker 3 (30:49):
Okay, don't do that.
Speaker 4 (30:50):
Green Giant has Jill pickles, seasoned potatoes. About that and
your pickles.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (30:57):
A couple more restaurant deals here, late night half price appetizers.
They're back at Applebee's by late night, I mean after
nine or ten o'clock.
Speaker 3 (31:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (31:06):
Great.
Speaker 4 (31:06):
You got to put in the time in order to
get the half price deal.
Speaker 2 (31:09):
Or if you're out, if you work late, so you
have to stay in the club late just to get that.
Speaker 4 (31:13):
And apparently I just missed this one. In Chicago, the
world's only nutella cafe is back open in Chicago.
Speaker 2 (31:20):
Darn.
Speaker 3 (31:20):
They have everything, huh.
Speaker 4 (31:21):
Tirama, souit cups, mocha frapes, milkshakes, ice cream cones, all
with the nutella twists.
Speaker 1 (31:27):
Oh that's surprising to me that that isn't everywhere.
Speaker 3 (31:30):
No kidding, Thank you, food dude.
Speaker 5 (31:34):
Three things to know today.
Speaker 2 (31:36):
Number one, the food brand name Taylor Farms may seem
familiar to you. It's all over the place, like dressings
and whatnot. So they have pulled some items containingjlipinos over
possible salmonella contamination. So Taylor Farms and that means salsas
and guacamole's and anything with those fresh peppers inside.
Speaker 4 (31:56):
Well, Chipotle had to pull and q.
Speaker 2 (31:59):
Doba did that last week. So just know it was
led us a couple of weeks ago. It's hell opinions
now to be aware of. And you can go to
the USDA's website to find out more size.
Speaker 4 (32:08):
I think somebody has something out for tacos.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
Okay, Number two maybe will eventually be here. But in
France there's a new law going into effect this week
that bans all unsolicited telemarketing calls without prior consent, even
if you signed up and you're still getting them, which
is happening in America for sure. It makes it completely
illegal for those calls. And if you make one of
(32:31):
those calls to somebody, you face a fine of eighty
seven thousand.
Speaker 1 (32:33):
Dollars per call, and that would be nice.
Speaker 2 (32:36):
Companies could be fined up to five hundred thousand. French
officials just say, look, they've changed it. They're tired of
the consumer complaints. Changing that game. And number three, Whitney
Houston has been honored with her very own Barbie doll.
Oh cool, it's the Whitney doll from the and she
looks just like the I Want to Dance with Somebody
video with her cute like purple dress and those heels.
(32:58):
That was from nineteen eighty seven. They this along with
Mittel in the Whitney Houston Legacy Foundation.
Speaker 3 (33:04):
She's available now.
Speaker 5 (33:05):
You're up to date. Three things to know today
