Speaker 1 (00:09):
Vice Shoe.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
It's hell level and love and Levi and levell No.
Welcome to the Naught even nicer. I'm your host, Rob Shooter,
and it's Thursday, which means our dear friend Mark Lupo
joins us. Hey, Loopy are you there?
Speaker 1 (00:23):
Lewis here here?
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Loopy? Lou's been looking at the podcast charts. I see you.
We're doing pretty well, maman, top ten, That's what I'm saying,
hop ten. And we're so naughty as the word that's
use that word. We're so naughty. We've been looking up
some of our competitors, I know, because we've a few
people that we are not big fans of, are not
(00:46):
quite as high up the charts. What shocks me is
that we are well a thank you, naughty is it's
all because of you, but be we are punching above
our weight. We have more listeners than Billy Bush, than
t m Z. It's just I almost feel like we
should send them in apology. I feel I feel terrible. Hey,
(01:07):
thank you Naughtise you did this, and I'm gonna be
internally eternally greateful. Okay, what time is it, my friends?
It is tea time. Big story at the top of
the show. So this is a bit of a shocking story.
So while everybody in New York who has ever met
Jeffrey Epstein was running away from him, I've never met him,
(01:28):
I don't know him, I know nothing about him. Bravo,
God bless Bravo, he's running in the opposite direction and
actually using Epstein's name in the trailer for the new
Real Housewives of New York. Let me explain. Carol Raziwell
is back on the show. You know her from being
Kennedy adjacent. She was part of the Kennedy clan. I
don't think she really is anymore. However, when she rolled
(01:51):
in those fancy cirtles, and I'm not making an excuse here,
she became very close friends with Gallaine Maxwell. Now we
know they're close friends because the book cover, you know,
when you put a book out, it has a photograph
in Guess who took the photograph of Carol in Carol's book,
Glayne Maxwell. Glaine gets the photo credit. Now, anyone that's
(02:13):
ever had a book I have, thank you very much,
knows that that's a really intimate, important photograph. You don't
ask anybody to just take a snap. You ask like
someone you really trust, somebody you really admire, and it
was Glayne Maxwell. Now Carol is saying I barely knew her.
We just sort of hung out at the same part
she took the picture that you use in your book. Now,
(02:35):
Carol is also claiming she never met Jeffrey, not once,
even though she was friends with Glaine. Never met Jeffrey.
Very unlikely, is what insiders say. But even if you
take Carol at her word, what is Bravo up to now?
Initially I did a story on this when Carol signed
up to return to the show several months ago. I
(02:57):
did a story asking Bravo would Epstein be a storyline
and they were like, no, no, no, it might be
casually mentioned, but it's too dark. We don't want any
part of that. I was like, that makes sense then
the trailer. In the trailer, they are using Jeffrey Epstein
(03:18):
as bait as a way to get viewers to watch.
I've never seen anything like this mark. Normally TV shows
they run away from this stuff. Bravo runs towards scandal.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
What do you think, of course they do. I mean
I have a few thoughts here. So last season it
was a disaster and they knew it. It did not
work out. They had a few of the girls go
and now they have to revamp it increasing excitement. If
you watch the trailer, it's so embarrassing. They have Carol
walking on the street New York and some random person
out of nowhere yells that's the woman of Epstein. When
(03:54):
would that happen?
Speaker 2 (03:55):
It's just never never. They work at Bravo. It's an
interurn at Bravo. They put on the corner of the street.
It's a production assistant and they said that Carol walks
pass screamed that that's how that happened. Yes, it's so.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Silly, and so you know, I advidly knew just watching
how it played up in the trailer. It's going to
be like the arc of the show, like they need
to do something really spicy and juicy to keep us interested.
And I don't think there's really much too that. I'm
sure it's you know, there is. She was mentioned in
the documents a few times, but if she was in
real trouble, we would know that already.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
Yeah, we would know it. It's guilty by association, but
you know, it still is what it is, Like a
lot of people are in those files, and there has
been very few consequences here in America at least, and
Prince Andrew has been arrested, has been investigated, or has
been investigated in Britain. This is a real problem for Carol.
I know Carol a little bit. We email each other
(04:46):
every so often. She does present herself as a Kennedy aires.
She does present herself as a little smarter than all
the other housewives. She's not in this for famek No,
she just wants a few giggles that she's a an
Emmy award winning producer from a news organization. She's friends
with Diane Sawyers, so this little show, she's only doing
(05:08):
this for a little bit of a love. Absolutely not true.
Carol loves being famous. That last name she kept. She
has never remarried. Carol wrote a book about the Kennedys,
which they did not like at all. And now this
Epstein association, let's be generous here and just say that
it is an association nothing more. There's no proof of that.
(05:30):
I would not be returning to a reality show if
I had this really dark, ugly Skelington in my closet.
And this isn't that I was friends with John Mayer
or some awful person. This isn't that, this is a
convicted pedophile. This isn't funny. Like, you know, it's sort
of campy to be friends with Eliza Manelli. It's sort
(05:53):
of campy to be Martha Stewart's makeup artist. She's on
the show. It's very different. Jeffrey Epstein is not camping.
It is not funny, and I'm shocked the brother's even
touching it.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
Well, you know, she's supposed to be a friend of
the series for this, this iteration, and clearly the storyline
has generated an interest the producers to keep her around.
But you know, going back to her character. A few
years ago and I was working at US Weekly, she
was hawking vibraeders. I interviewed her about the vibrator, So
I knew then that she was just desperate for money
and for attention, And so this doesn't surprise me. She'll
(06:26):
capitalize on something like this.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
Yeah, they let they let their true colors show, even
when they are Kennedy adjacent, which brings us to our
pole question of the day. Brather is hoping that Jeffrey
Epstein can save the Real Housewives of New York imagine that.
Just just think about that for a minute. It's not funny.
Brather is leaning into Jeffrey Epstein. Every other person that
(06:52):
is associated with him is running away, not Bravo, although
brav will come out of this smelling like a rose
because they'll say we didn't do it, she did it.
All this is going to be laid at the feet
of Carol. You are playing with fire. And if you
thought you could trust them, which she did because she's
friends with Andrey. Again, you can't trust brom you could.
(07:13):
If they have a chance to get more ratings by
destroying you, they will do it without even thinking about it.
So do you think this strategy will work? Maybe it will.
Maybe people will tune in to see what Carol really
knew about Jeffrey Epstein. Hey, go vote on our ex
page at Twitter page had Naughty Nice rob Our facebook
(07:34):
page is Naughty Gossip, and be sure to check back
tomorrow to hear your shocking results. It's a shocking conversation
that I never thought would be having on the naughty
put Nice said, Hey, Lupete, what are you working on?
Speaker 1 (07:45):
You? So, Jason Alexander, his apology is not a reason
his past. Let me explain so. Jason Alexander has apologized
for a twenty twelve comedy sketch with Courtney Starting and
the think he was inappropriate and seeing he truly regrets
it now. The former Seinfeld star issued the statement after Stadden,
who was just seventeen during the filming, publicly revisited the
(08:08):
sketch and described feeling exploited by the adults around her.
Jason offered a direct apology, saying he was sorry for
any harm this sketch caused. And this renewed controversy has
also reignited debate over child marriage consent and the entertainment's
industry is responsibility to protect the minors.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
Rob oh my, oh my, Frank goodness. Yeah, we've come
a long way in just a decade, In just ten years,
this wouldn't happen now. I hope it wouldn't happen now,
But back then it happened without any any consequence. And
the question is why are you saying sorry? N I Jason?
Is it because we're talking about it? You had a
decade to say sorry about this. You know what you did,
you were on that set. It's just so creepy. It's
(08:48):
hard though to look back at TV at stuff that
happened in the past through today's lens. We've seen this
with America's Next Top Model, and we've even seen it
maybe with Sex in the City. We evolve, we change.
That's a good thing that is growing up. But apologizing,
I think it is the right thing to do. I'm
not sure about this, Jason Alexander. I remember my husband
(09:10):
Bruce had a musical he was working on and Jason's
name was up to play the lead and he wouldn't audition,
but they had a conversation, like just to chat the
authors and the potential star. He was really rude. He
was there and he was arrogant. He's got Seinfeldton all day.
So he's got so much money that he does not
(09:32):
He thinks he doesn't need to be nice anymore. I
argue that just because you're rich doesn't suddenly mean your
manners go out the window. And so I've got a
bad feeling about him. I'm glad he apologized. He did
the right thing, but it took him a decade and
us talking about it to get bad apology. Okay, moving along,
Prince George's biggest challenge isn't eat and he's going to
(09:53):
a fancy school. It's growing up in the spotlight. So
he turned thirteen yesterday a beautiful mo new portrait was
released of him, and in just a few weeks he's
going to begin Eton College. I know a few of
my fancy friends at university. Hi, I only met fancy
people when I left Birmingham I went to Edinburgh. I
did not grow up fancy. But when you go to
a really good university you meet everybody, which is part
(10:16):
of the joy of going there. So even though at
university I was very much part of the working class group,
I had a few friends who were sort of yrs.
That's what we call posh people in Edinburgh, yars. And
a couple of my friends did go to Eton, and
I said it was delightful. It was really hard academically.
The good news about Eton is they have a ban
(10:37):
on cell phones. So can you imagine if the future
king was in your class, you'd record him all day
long and send it to me or the daily mail, like,
that's what you would do. So I think that's a
good thing. He knows he's going to be the king
one day. It's wild to think a thirteen year old
imagine what you were like at thirteen, Mark, you were
a monster. If you knew, if you knew it thirteen,
(11:00):
that you were going to be the king giving, you'd
be even worse. I mean, can you just the pressure
I feel for this kid?
Speaker 1 (11:06):
What do you think I would I was advancing to
be really it would be really bad if I if
I hadn't known that. You know, it's funny. I was
looking at pictures of him last night. He looks like
the canary. He's a quaft, hair's perfect teeth and like
at thirteen, I had braces and looks crazy. I mean,
he looks prepared for the next step. He really does.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
It's a good role. We wish him the best After school?
How do the other kids talk to him? If I,
if you and me Mark had a child who was
in that class, I'd say every day you make friends
with the car going to school, on the buzz going
to school, I would be in my child's ear said
you give George and apple, you sit next to George,
you'd be friends with because he's going to be the king. Okay,
(11:48):
talking about families, Brooklyn Beckham and his wife are starting
to look ridiculous. Explain what they are up to now?
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Ohs too okay. So Brooklyn Beckham and the Call of Helps.
Their latest social media post shows them walking together on
the same treadmill or the clearing They do everything together.
Oh and what was meant to be romantic instead looks
painfully performative, healthy relationships. They do five a bunch together individuality.
(12:20):
What do you think about?
Speaker 2 (12:22):
Oh, it's awful these two And it's no surprise. It's
happened just days after the World Cup, where the Beckham's
got an enormous amount of publicity. And so I think
they're just jealous. I think that this is just responding
to that. But what are we they going to get
pictures of next and both of us in the bathroom
together and both cleaning up. It's just like, really, like,
we get it. You're in love, We're happy for you,
(12:43):
you were in love. Why do you need to keep
telling us this? And particularly because neither one of you
are that famous. Like, I'd never heard of her, she's
very very wealthy as a wealthy family. I didn't know
what she looked like before this, had heard of her family.
I didn't even really know Brooklyn. And it's sort of
like a scrawny version of his dad. He's sort of
like a not kind of cute enough version. David's like,
(13:04):
and so I just feel like I want them to
find happiness. I do, But they're not going to find
happiness by playing games with the press or playing games
with the family. It's so petty, it's so smart, spiteful.
Go and enjoy your life. You're multimillionaires, you live in
a mansion, You've got a ton of privilege, a ton
of power. You don't need me a mark to be
(13:25):
impressed with you. Just go. Couples do that, don't that.
You don't have to be famous. My friends who are
in couples, who are always having to kiss in front
of me, hold hands in front of me, you jump
on each other. I'm like, really, really, how are you
about that? Markus as somebody that's in a couple yourself.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
My thing is this, you have to take more of
the body language, and you have to look, you know,
in between the lines of what's really going on. I'm
never impressed by that kind of stuff. And I just
really don't care. I do not care. You can do it,
do it whatever. I don't want to know.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
That's the best reaction. I just roll my eyes. Okay,
quickly before we get a break. FIFA. It's been argued
you should scrap at the World Cup halftime show, So
it went on for twenty seven minutes. There's a rule
at the World Cup that you're only allowed to have
a break for fifteen minutes, so it went on a
long time. The players had to warm up. It broke
momentum inside as are saying the football is the star
(14:16):
of the show. They don't need Madonna coming out to
be the star of it, and annoyed people that they
had to wait an extra fifteen minutes for the second
half of the match. I love me some entertainment I do.
This is too long, It was messy, It wasn't really
very well produced. I hear that if they do move
(14:36):
forward with it, Chris Martin, who put it together, will
be gone. They should bring in jay Z. Jay Z
does the Super Bowl. He knows how to do this.
They know how to get a stage on a football
thick pitch. What is it a soccer? What do they
call it the Super Bowl? A stadium? We'll say a stadium.
They know how to get a show rolled out and
done in twelve minutes, like they could get Madonna on
(14:58):
and off this, they need to hire jay Z. I
don't think it's necessarily the show itself that's the problem.
It just wasn't very well executed, and they didn't need
all those performers. Just get Shakira, give her ten minutes.
That's all we need. Enough. Justin put down that guitar.
It's enough. Okay, we're going to take to a quick
(15:18):
break and we will be right back. Welcome back to
the Naughty but Nijo Ho. Let's get to the polls. Mark,
this is going to sound familiar. Jennifer Anderstood is being
used as bait to sell her boyfriend's book. So a
little source of mine, a friend of mine, a little
bertie told me they might have tickets to the ninety
(15:40):
second Street Why that they paid one hundred dollars for
to see Jen. Now, technically it is a Jim Curtis event.
He is promoting his book. But let's be honest, everybody's
going to buy a ticket, including Mark and I to
see Jen. What do you think about this? Is it smart?
It's maybe getting good public at least not not good publicity,
(16:01):
but it's getting a lot of publicity. Or is it sketchy?
Eighty two percent said sketchy. It's so sketchy, it's not
a good look. I would rather play a much smaller
venue and sell my books there, like at a little
independent bookstore. Get a bar to Noble. You don't have
to get the ninety second Street. Why and the only
reason you're getting it is because Jen is hosting this evening.
(16:24):
Shady shady, shady. Hey, don't forget to vote on today's pool.
Go to our Twitter, our ex page, add naughty nice
rob our Facebook pages naughty Gossip and be sure to
check back to Marie to hear your results. And now, oh,
I love this part of the show. It's time for
the nicest of the day.
Speaker 1 (16:43):
Oh z, there's three word response said everything about her marriage,
and I explained when a Ben jugglingly proposed Is and
Dia at a spider Man Brand New Day event, the
actress didn't hesitate. She said, you're too late. The playful
three work reply instantly won over the crowd, but already
(17:05):
knew they're married.
Speaker 2 (17:07):
Oh that's adorable. Will you marry me? You are too late?
She's married. I love this couple. I just think after
the Taylor Swift wedding and the sort of vulgarity of
this overtop romance. This is so refreshing. I love it,
I love it, I love it. And Nicest of the Day,
and now our Naughties of the Day, and what is
the day's cancer? William Shatner is revealing that both he
(17:27):
and his daughter had catcer at the same time. So
William has been a hero on screens, but he's fighting
his toughest battle right now. He's ninety five years old.
He's revealed that he and his daughter Melanie were battling
separate stage four cancer at the same time. Thankfully both
are now cancer free. Oh their story. It's not about celebrity.
(17:48):
It's about resilience and family and refusing to surrender when
the odds seem overwhelming. That's sort of our nicest as
well as our Naughties of the Day. Hayler's end with
a moment and I've rob you, rob you, gonna rob you,
gotta ub you gona roub. The life you want is
hidden inside the things that you are avoiding, the gap
between you where you are today and where you want
(18:10):
to be tomorrow. It isn't about talent or look or
even motivation. No, it's not filled with that that gap
is not filled with talent, look or motivation. What it's
filled with things that you don't really want to do.
So every workout that you've skipped, every difficult conversation that
you've not had, every morning you get up and you
roll oliver and go back to bed, that is what
(18:33):
is holding you back. So don't wait to feel motivated.
Motivation is garbage, it doesn't exist. The life you want
is waiting on the other side of the things that
you have been putting off. Think about it today. What
have you been putting off? What's that one email you
haven't returned. What's that one gym session that you should
go to today but you don't. Why haven't you drank
(18:54):
more water? Like we all know how to live a
better life, Why aren't we doing get That's what's holding
you back? Hey, that is it for today. Thank you
so much for listening to the Naughty but Nice with
Rob and Mark show. We are protection of iHeartRadio and
Elvis Durand did we mention that we're a top ten podcast?
(19:14):
I can I think you did. Also to check out
my substack robshooter dot substack dot com and my novel
I Know I've mentioned this. It started with a whisper
is available right now and remember all together now. I
want to hear you all singing along. I can see you,
I can hear you. If you're going to be naughty,
(19:36):
you've got to bee let me hear you. Mark nice
sall gob It's not even nice with Ra
