all got that friend who might even struggle with mental

friends with Britney Spears. I know, on the surface, she's

rich and she's famous, and she's Brittany. Like, if you said,
do you want to be friends with Britney Spears? Do
you want to be friends with Madonna? Do you want
to be friends with j Lo? The first answer I
think is going to be yes. As somebody who's met
all three, I could tell you the answer might be no,
because once the celebrity, once the star dust disappears, you're
left with a really difficult person who's a narcissist and

very wealthy and very powerful, and suddenly, I don't know.
I'm always quite suspicious about people who have tons and
tons of celebrity friends, because my experience with celebrities are
they are delicious, they are so much fun to be around,
but they're not necessarily good friends because the only thing,
or the main thing that think about is themselves, and

that's why they are so successful. It's sort of like
a double edged sword. You've got to be a narcissist
to be a successful celebrity. It's got to be about
you all the time. You've gotta want to always put
on a show. That's why you're so entertaining. However, that
does not make for a good partner or a good friend.
You've been around celebrities, Mark, I know your friendships. Your

group is very tight. It's not stars, it's not celebrities.

No, I mean I do you know celebrities from Afar
and I It's the reason why I don't really stay
friends with people like that is because it is exhausting.
It's always all crazy. Are you're the best? You're really

It's funny for a couple of nights out. I used
to be quite close with Sonia Morgan, the Real Housewife
and every Thursday when Brother aired The Real Housewives of
New York, she had only gay men over to her apartment.
Once I took after in Valerie and she literally said,
no girls aloud, that you can't unless that if she leaves,
I leave, And she ended up staying. But she shouldn't
have stayed because Sonya was rude to her the whole night.

used to watch Sonya watch herself on TV, and it
was all about Sonya and every time she said something, oh,

second month, I just stopped going because it was exhausting

fans are accusing the streamer of exploiting Jackson's legacy nearly

of the recent Michael biopic, and social media has erupted

When a royal gets married, when Harry and Meghan get married,
They're on the cover of every magazine not because those
magazines wanted to bring you the news. No, they wanted
to sell magazines. It is a moneymaking business, so I'm

not at all surprised by this. This movie has made
eight hundred million dollars more than The Devil Wears Prada.
Expect to see a lot of Michael coverage. And this
is what the problem is with celebrity. When you put
yourself in the public eye, when you reach out, they'll
always be a backlash. I remember what. There was a
time when I was working with Jessica Simpson and she
was sick or she said she was sick of being

on the cover of US Weekly, in the magazines every
single week. She loves it, but she claimed that she
didn't like it. And I said, the only way that
they're going to stop putting you on the cover is
when it doesn't sell. But that also means your career
is not where you want it to be. So you
should every week you go on a Wednesday or Friday

to the newsstand and see yourself on the cover, you
should drop to the floor and kiss it and thank
the Lord because it means you're relevant. Now Jessica cannot
be on the cover, so those magazines because she doesn't
sell and I think she misses it. Be careful these
celebrities who are like, oh my goodness, leave me alone. Leave,
I'll leave you alone and see how you feel dead.
History is littered with celebrities who have been asking Bethany Frankle,

we're ignored. Go And she's like in a bikini on
the beach taking pictures of herself, like she desperately misses
the attention. So the difficult part of this is it's
attention that the estate doesn't want us to talk about it.

I saw the movie. I loved it. I'm not exactly
sure it's truthful, but I did thoroughly enjoy it. It's

and we love his songs. And if you and me

song comes on me and our little feet bit it's
not tappul under the tape. I love it, but I

fire now for an explosive Michael Jackson trial dot they're
about to release. So Netflix is basing fierce backlash ahead
of the release of Michael Jackson The Verdict to new
doc revisiting the singer's two thousand and five child molestation trial. Now,
fans are accusing the streamer of exploiting Jackson's legacy nearly

two decades after his death, especially after the massive success
of the recent Michael biopic, and social media has erupted
with outrage, with supporters insisting Jackson was equated on all
accounts and calling a documentary a money grab a roub.
The doc promises to have interviews with jurors, accusers, and
court room insiders, and it's reigniting one of the biggest,

most avisive pop culture scandals of our time.

What do you think, Yeah, yeah, I mean to say
some money grab is silly, because that's what these companies do.
They're not there to entertain money, all these entertainment companies,
I'm not there to put on a great show. They're
a profit, profit driven. Is this yes? And so if
I was the head of Netflix or any other any
other network, this is a good week to talk about Michael.

If I was at NBC, we'd do a Michael special
this week for two hours on Dateline, Like this is
what they do. The morning shows should cover Michael this week.
Whenever a celebrity is in the news, we piggyback on them.
When a royal gets married, when Harry and Meghan get married,
They're on the cover of every magazine not because those
magazines wanted to bring you the news. No, they wanted
to sell magazines. It is a moneymaking business, so I'm

not at all surprised by this. This movie has made
eight hundred million dollars more than The Devil Wears Prada.
Expect to see a lot of Michael coverage. And this
is what the problem is with celebrity. When you put
yourself in the public eye, when you reach out, they'll
always be a backlash. I remember what. There was a
time when I was working with Jessica Simpson and she
was sick or she said she was sick of being
(08:56):
on the cover of US Weekly, in the magazines every
single week. She loves it, but she claimed that she
didn't like it. And I said, the only way that
they're going to stop putting you on the cover is
when it doesn't sell. But that also means your career
is not where you want it to be. So you
should every week you go on a Wednesday or Friday
(09:16):
to the newsstand and see yourself on the cover, you
should drop to the floor and kiss it and thank
the Lord because it means you're relevant. Now Jessica cannot
be on the cover, so those magazines because she doesn't
sell and I think she misses it. Be careful these
celebrities who are like, oh my goodness, leave me alone. Leave,
I'll leave you alone and see how you feel dead.
History is littered with celebrities who have been asking Bethany Frankle,

leave me alone, leave my daughter alone. It's private. Now
we're ignored. Go And she's like in a bikini on
the beach taking pictures of herself, like she desperately misses
the attention. So the difficult part of this is it's
attention that the estate doesn't want us to talk about it.
And they never mentioned any of this in the movie.
I saw the movie. I loved it. I'm not exactly
sure it's truthful, but I did thoroughly enjoy it. It's

very tricky with Michael because he changed the face of music,
and we love his songs. And if you and me
and we're going out tonight together, if a Michael Jackson
song comes on me and our little feet bit it's
not tappul under the tape. I love it, but I
don't know if I'm allowed to like it anymore. Where

It's complicated, it is I remember my brother getting married
in twenty nineteen ish and Jonathan, we're talking to the
DJ about Michael Jackson and we're like, it was during
that me two time, and are we okay playing Michael Jackson?
We want to, but is that okay? Problem?

Did he play it? In the end?
Speaker 1 (10:40):
No, said, which was sad. You know, looking back, whatever.

Makes everyone dance, everyone gets on the dance. It's a
very very complicated thing. But you can't blame Netflix here.
This is actually smart programming. We shouldn't be shocked, we
shouldn't be surprised, we should expect it. Okay, moving along,
I love this story. Gail King is a final admitting
that she clashed with Oprah. The biggest fight they ever
had was over the gay rumors. So Gail admits that

she once begged her best friend Oprah to publicly shut
down the rumors that they were secret lovers. But get this,
Oprah refused. So Gail's on her Call Your Daddy podcast,
and she said, at first, the speculation deeply upset her
because get this, it hurt her dating life. She was
looking for a man, and if everybody thought she was gay,
they weren't going to data and sheesus. She said, Oprah,

it's okay for you because She've got Steedman, so you
don't have to worry about this. But me by myself now,
she said her as time when on. As time passed,
she doesn't care about it anymore. She insists, if Oprah
and I were gay, we would tell you. But it
is interesting, isn't it. Oprah refused. She said, no, I'm
ignoring these rumors. There's nothing wrong with being gay. How

do I say I'm not gay without implying I don't
want to be gay? It's very, very difficult. I think
this is just amazing. If I'd been if you had
come to me and said, can we put out rumors
that we're not gay, we're not a couple, I'd say, yes,
we can. But Oprah was like, no, not playing this game.

I do? Have a funny story about this. I intended
a Oprah book event a few months ago in New York,
and it was moderated by a gale, of course, And
in the middle of the of the panel, Oprah's phone rings,
and Oprah looks at her phone, and she sounds and
puts it down and Gal.

Goes who does that?
Speaker 1 (12:29):
Who called you? She goes stead Bit but like, none
of us believe that Stedman's calling her in the middle
of that panel. It was like a planted thing for
us to think he's still around. But where is Steedman?
He's been missing and the public guy for quite some time.

Now, Oh, I love it. I did something really naughty
a couple of weeks ago. I was having drinks with
a reporter from Vanity Fair who did that hatchet job
on the may I so, have you read that story
about it? So be bark and they read a picture
of me with the black eye. But I was with
the reporter from Vady Fair. He was into me. I
knew he was coming, and so ten minutes before he arrived,
Nancy Grace called me. I said, Nancy, I can't talk now,

call back in thirty minutes because I can show off
that Nancy Grace is calling me to this reporter. She did,
and I just my phone rang in the middle of
the interview and he was like, do you need to
get that. It's like, no, it's just Nancy. It's Nancy Grace.
And in the end we got it and she was
really funny. Now I think it's I think there's a
lot of show busies. I think there's a lot of
set up here. I think to Gail was a little

bit homophobic about this. She didn't want people to think
she was gay because she didn't think it was a
very flattering thing. And we've evolved now. Being gay's great.
I love it. Mark. When I was a little boy,
I used to dream at night. I used to make
a wish, Please make me straight, Jesus please. I don't
want to be gay. I don't want to be gay.
My arm's bad enough. I've got a broken arm. I
don't want. I don't want more more stuff that makes

assistant has been sentenced to jail. His assistant, Kenneth, was

sentenced to forty one months in prison for his role
in the beloved actors Kedermine overdose. This story is so outrageous.
It is alleged that after injecting him, the assistant Kenneth
injected Matthew and he left him to die in a
hot tub. And then it's alleged that he also took
Matthew's car for a spin and then tried to delete evidence.

Some people say he should spend even longer in jail,
