Speaker 1 (00:09):
Ye spice, It's time love and love Lovello. Hello, welcome
to the Naughty but Night Share. I'm your host, Rob Shooters.
Friday morning. I have a little bit of a head
cold today, so if I have a scraspy, scratchy point
for the next twenty minutes, please forgive me and let's
jump into the show. Honestly, I don't feel bad at all.
(00:31):
In fact, I feel great. I just sound like I've
been up all night smoking Marlborough lights, which I promise
you I haven't. I was in bed last night by
Tenor Clark. So let's jump into a show. What time
is it? My friends? It is tea time, big story
at the top of the show, so this is something
that I really want to dig into and debate. Jlo.
(00:53):
Jennifer Lopez is worth about four hundred million dollars. Mark
Anthony is worth about eighty million dollars. A lot of
money there. Yet they're twins got a college scholarship. So
Jennifer is extremely proud about this milestone. Her twins got
into every single university they applied for, all five and
(01:15):
each received scholarship. Office but not everybody is applauding that
the superstar recently revealed that both both her kids, who
are now eighteen and were accepted to all five schools
on their list. They listed five and they got in
to five. That's brilliant. Congratulations. But according to Jennifer, they
(01:37):
also received scholarships. She said the following quote, I'm so
proud of them. They worked so hard and set goals
for themselves. They certainly did. You know, when you are
an eppo baby, when you have parents this wealthy, this powerful,
this privileged, you don't have to work that hard and
your life will be okay. These two did the work.
(01:59):
They got into these really prestigious universities. They did it
with hard work, not with their parents money or fame.
So good forward them. A lot of kids of celebrities
don't want to work very hard at all. I know
a lot of celebrity kids who think they work hard,
but they really don't. Because they've got the family's fortune
(02:22):
to always fall back on. They're never worried about paying
their rent. Jennifer's kids did the work. Now, the accomplishment
is undeniably impressive, but the scholarship news that has sparked
a wave of questions. Giving the enormous wealth of their parents.
They're super rich. Jennifer's fortune is estimated to be four
(02:45):
hundred million, while their father, Mark Anthony, is worth about
eighty million. One educator tells me, quote the minute people
here scholarship, they think financial aide. That's what I did,
and that's why this story touched a nerve. It's really
blowing up. This story is going to blow up today. Now.
To be fair, let's be fair here. Scholarships aren't always
(03:09):
based aren't always based on financial need. Many colleges award
merit scholarships for academics, leadership, athletes, artistic achievement, or other accomplishments,
regardless of a family's income. Still, critics say the optics
(03:29):
are really difficult to ignore. One inside a told me
quote there are families taking out loans, working multiple jobs,
and struggling to afford college. So when the children of
two multi millionaires receive scholarships, people naturally have questions. Now,
s the boards argue that wealth shouldn't disqualify students from
(03:54):
earning this recognition. They said that they met the criteria
and they earned it. A merit scholarship is a reward
for achievement, not a reflection of financial need. One thing
is certain the twins' college success. It is generating almost
as much attention as their famous parents. The debate is
(04:14):
an over whether they deserve admission. No, it's not over
that at all. It's where the scholarship dollars should follow privilege.
What do you think about this? It's a fascinating subject.
When I went to school in Britain, I went to
the University of Edinburgh, thank you very much. I got
a master's degree. A master's degree in political science. Took
me four years totally free. In Britain if you get
(04:37):
into the universities are hard to get into, but if
you pass those exams, tuition's free. Now accommodation that's really expensive,
and my parents, my parents helped me out. I couldn't
have gone without my mum and dad's money, and they
did not have a lot of money. They took out
a small loan, not so small, actually quite a big
loan to send me to university and I will be
(04:57):
forever grateful. I also, too, got two jobs at university.
One was in a sports shop. Can you imagine me
in a sports shop. I knew nothing about any of
the sports, but I worked there every Friday and Saturday.
And I also got a job in the theater, the
theater in Edinburgh, the Edinburgh Playhouse. I got a job
there selling ice creams, being a bartender, being an ussuer.
(05:20):
That's actually how I met Bruce. So it was a
wonderful connection. But I worked. I had to. I had friends,
rich friends who didn't have to work at university. It
was one great time for them. They worked really hard
on this, that is, but they didn't have to have
traditional jobs to pay at the rent. I did. So
when I heard this, I was like, oh gosh, this
is gonna be big, and it is. This is really
(05:41):
exploding here. And now nobody blames the twins for this.
People blame the system. They did nothing wrong, they did
nothing illegal. They're not they're not being shady here. They're
not gaming the system. This is the system and they
applied for it and they got it despite the fact
that their mom and dad are multimillionaires, which brings us
to our pole question of the day. Jay Loo's worth
(06:02):
about four hundred million. Once again, Mark Anthony worth about
eighty million. That's a lot of money. Should their twins
get college scholarships? What do you think? It's that tough?
One isn't it Hey? Go vote on our exat twinter
page and Naughty Knight rob Our facebook page is Naughty
Gossip and be sure to check back on Monday. Hopefully
(06:24):
by then I will be able to talk properly, So
sir rasby today, be sure to check back on Monday
to hear your results again. Moving along another controversial story today,
Cavey Hilton, Cavey Hilton, That's Paris's Mommy, the real housewife
of Beverly Hills, has dropped out of a Pride parade
after her connections to Donald Trump and a anti gay
(06:47):
slur is now being discussed again. So Kathy has withdrawn
from West Hollywood Pride after fierce backlash from LGBTQ plus
activists over her ties to Donald Trump and has allegations
that she used a homophobic slur. Hilton has the name
was named the Grand Marshal for Sender's Prayed, but organizers
(07:10):
announced the honour would be scrapped following complaints from the
community they listened to. The community critics pointed out that
Kathy has had many appearances at Mari Laga and has
a very tight friendship with President Trump, whose administration has
faced criticism over their policies towards LGBTQ plus communities. They
(07:32):
faced a lot of criticism. Now others have revived allegations
made by Erika jay In during a twenty twenty two
Real Housewife of Beverly Hills reunion. She said that Kathy
used a Geisler during a cast trip. Now, Kathy denied
this brother did an investigation the city she said. She
said they never really made a decision about this. So
(07:54):
in a statement, Kathy said she respects the decision and
she remains committed to supporting LGBTQ plus causes. So this controversy,
it highlights the growing divide over who gets to represent
Pride and whether celebrities support is enough when questions about
past actions and political associations remain unresolved. Tricky. I actually
(08:20):
rode in West Hollywood Gay Pride with Paris Hilton over
twenty years ago. Paris was the Grand Marshal and I
sat next to her on the float. Behind us was
her mum, Kathy. Kathy always wants to be the center
of attention. She always wants to be the person in
the spotlight. So to get to host this herself after
twenty years watching a door to do it really being
(08:42):
in the shadow of Paris. I imagine Kathy was thrilled
about this. However, Kathy is complicated, and so this is
where we have to really think about this. Who represents Pride?
Do we want straight people to represent Pride? Do we
want gay people? Do we want people who support LGBDQ
(09:03):
polysis in government? We try not to be political on
the show, but let's remember the very first Pride at Stonewall.
It was a political riot. It was not a gathering
of people marching down Fifth Avenue. It was a riot
outside Stonewall where the gay community, primarily headed up by
(09:25):
the trans community, said enough. The police kept raiding Stonewall
and one night the community fought back and that's what
started Pride. And so Cathy here, she's got a lot
of explaining to do. I think she's handled it gracefully.
She knows too that her participation has become a distraction,
(09:46):
has become something that isn't good. So she stepped aside
and Pride will go on. I'm sure it'll do just
fine without a Hilton. Okay, moving along, William and Kate
are going to skip the World Cup final, at least
for now. So William and Kate are not currently planning
on attending the FIFA World Cup Final in New York.
(10:08):
It's going to be next month month, despite speculations. So
a lot of people are saying, oh my goodness, they're
going to be here. My sources saying no, that is
very unlikely. They have no plans. Royal insiders even tell
me they didn't get an invitation. Nobody actually invited them,
so making the trip very unlikely at this stage. The
decision is said to be also influenced by Kate's ongoing
(10:30):
recovery and carefully managed return to public duties following her
cancer battle. Still inside the stress, the door is open
if England reaches the final at New Jersey's met Life Stadium,
many expect that William William will make the trip. Come on,
if England get into the finals, will William be able
(10:52):
to not go to that? I don't know. Kate's attendance
is considerably less certain, though he'll probably come by himself,
while any appearance by their children would depend on scheduling
and security consideration. So I'm told there's no way the
kids are coming, Probably probably no way Kate's coming. Let's
be honest, that's not gonna happen, William. If they do
(11:14):
reach the finals, if England's in the World Cup finals,
his friend David Beckham is going to be there. Harry
will not be there carrying David Beckham fall out. So
there's no way FIFA is going to pick Harry over
David Beckham. And so maybe at the moment, at the moment,
it's a no. But as one insider, one royal insider
told me late last night, never say never. Chris Hemshoorth,
(11:37):
this story made me laugh. His family vacation got derailed
by an embarrassing passport blunder. So even though god argue
their way past airport security, this is not a nightclub,
it's airport security. They cannot you can't. You can't get
in without the right documentation, even if the whole world
knows who you are. So Chris revealed that he was
(11:58):
traveling with his wife and their children and they were
denied boarding an international flight after he accidentally brought the
wrong passport to the airport. The actor admitted he grabbed
his daughter's passport instead of the one belonging to his
twin sons, and when he got there, he tried to
convinced security that the children match. They said no, no, no, no, no,
(12:20):
they did not match. This is your daughter's passport. That's
a boy. He said, yeah. It didn't work, so the
travel mishaped left the family grounded, proving that even one
of Hollywood's biggest stars isn't a mune to a classic
parenting mistake. You rush out the house so faster you
you don't check the stuff. But no, they didn't let
him on the plane. Good news. They went home, they
(12:42):
got the right passport, and now they are on vacation. Okay,
quickly before we get a break. While I still have
a little bit of a voice. Andy Cohen's a new man.
Let me tell you all about Kevin So. Andy was
spotted holding hands with Kevin during a birthday outing. It
was his birthday in New York and he spent his
birthday with Kevin and some friends. They was boty together.
He's a Harvard Business School graduate, very smart, and he's
(13:04):
currently working on a ton of investment stuff, so he's
like a business man. He's no stranger to the spotlight.
Kevin previously dated Grammy Award winning songwriter Benji Passick. You
know him from La La land from the Greatest Showman.
He has an oscar one of the most successful songwriters
alive today, a big star in the Broadway community, not
(13:27):
a star like Andy, not a tabloid star. Benji is Gray.
I know him a little bit adorable. He's fantastic, but
he's not an Andy Klohin star. But he is famous
and Andy Cohen definitely, definitely is part of that Broadway world.
Whenever I go to an opening night at Carnegie Hall,
I often bumped into Andy Cohen. He has a ton
of friends, including his best friend Benjamin Hickey, who is
(13:49):
a director in the theater and an actor, so he
knows this world. So that's how he met Kevin through
mutual friends. They get along really well. My sources tell
me that Andy has already introduced him, introduced him to
some of his really really famous friends. Kevin's met Sarah
Jessica Parker, He's met Kelly Ripper, He's met Anderson Cooper,
and they all really like him. They're a little bit
(14:10):
skeptical at the minute. It's new. They don't want Andy
to be heard. And he's not had a very good
dating paths. He's often dated people much younger than himself.
And let's be honest. Kevin is sixteen years younger than Andy,
but they seem to fit together. He's not involved in
show business. He makes his own money and so he
can pay his own way. He doesn't have Andy money,
(14:31):
but he has a lot of money. Their only concern
is is he a star? Effer? We don't say that
word on the show, but you know what I mean.
He's dated someone famous before. Is this somebody who only
wants to date famous gay guys? Ooh? That makes people
a little bit nervous. But he's all coming from a
good place. They love Andy. They want Andy to settle down.
(14:52):
He has the kids now. They want him to have
the lovely husband. He certainly has the great life, all
that Andy won that he doesn't have. He's spoken about
this as a relationship. He'd love to have a relationship.
But he's difficult. He's not an easy person. I've known
him for twenty years. He is not easy. But fingers crusted.
I hope this works out beautifully. Okay, we're going to
take a quick break and we'll be right back. Welcome
(15:16):
back to then Naughdy, But Nisha, I'm your house dump
true to hey, Let's get to the polls DA. Last
year we talked about Princess Diana. There's a new letter
that has been revealed that she said that she wants
her sons to have a strong and meaningful bond. They're
currently estranged. With this hurt her our. Ninety four percent
said yes, Diana wanted these two to look after each other,
(15:36):
to be there for one another, to be allies in
a world that was so difficult. Within the palace, these
two had one another, or at least that's what she hoped.
That is not the case. I think should be really
hurt by this too. Hey, don't forget to vote on
today's pole good a page at Naughty Knights, rob a
Facebook page Lordy Gossip, and be sure to check back
(15:58):
on Manday to hear your results. And now Mom's diver.
Nicest of the day, Oh and Noisies of the day
is Richie Sambora, who brought down the house with a
bon Jovi classic at his daughter's wedding. Richie turned his
daughter's wedding into a rock concert when he grabbed a
microphone and he belt it out bon Jovi's signature hit
(16:20):
I Love It, Living on a Prayer. The former guitararist
for the band, performed the nineteen eighty six anthem during
Avera's wedding reception, with the bride and groom singing and
dancing along. Guest Camped captured the emotional moment, while proud
mom Heather Luckier Descare declared it was just beautiful. It
(16:40):
was just the magical moment. Now the performance carries extra
meaning because Richie left bon Jovi over a decade ago
in twenty thirteen after three decades with the band. I
used to work for bon Jovi, believe it or not,
so twenty years ago. I was the band's publicist. I
traveled all over with them on their private plane. John
and Richie never gone along. They just never ever clicked.
(17:02):
There was always tension, there was always difficulty. I was
on the private playe ones with Heather and aver and
Richie and John, and it was tricky. They didn't really
speak to each other very much. John had to be
the center of attention. I think Heather's fame gone on
his nerves and so they were never that close. But
my goodness, they made incredible music, incredible music together. Okay,
(17:27):
let's move on to our naughty is the day Naughty naughty, naughty.
I noticed the day Sharon Stone's husband, after she reed,
revealed the awful moment when her marriage ended and he
just walked out. Sharon Stone is saying that her marriage
ended after a terrifying health scare. The actress reveals the
doctors discovered a large breast tumor and warned she might
(17:50):
need a double missectomy. She agreed to the surgery, but
her husband's reaction was fury. He was really angry, she
said the following he said, quote this is ridiculous, and
he walked out. She says her husband was so upset
at the possibility of her losing her breasts that he
didn't even think about the risk of her losing her life. Ouch.
(18:13):
She added that was the end of the marriage. I
would say, how a heartbreaking. I've always thought we talk
about it on the show. During the good times, it's
easy to be in love, to be best friends, to
be best powells. It's during the hard times that's when
you know, if you can rely on somebody, that's when
you know it's real. I can't think of anything worse
(18:34):
than being diagnosed with cancer and your partner walks out,
ouch and nought. She is the day. Let's end with
a moment of rob. You get a Rob, your a
rub you Rob. Stop blaming the cards and just start
playing them. Life isn't fair. Some people have dealt a
better hand than others. It's just the fact you may
you may have faced bad luck or bad circumstances. It
(18:56):
doesn't matter. You gotta play the cards you've got. Complaining
about the cards you're holding you won't change them. Blaming
your past won't improve your future. The only thing that
matters is what you do next. Successful people don't wait
for perfect conditions. They work with what they have and
they keep moving forward. Accept their reality, adapt to it
(19:19):
and played the hand you're holding as well as you can. Hey,
that is it for this week. Thank you so much
for listening to the Naughty Bunk Knights with Robert nor
tie Shirt. You're the co host today. We're a production
of Alvis Durant and iHeartRadio. Don't forget to follow me
on substack robshooter dot substack dot com and also my
novel is at right now. It's a perfect beach read.
(19:40):
It started with a whisper. Pick it up if you
haven't already, And once again, thank you for listening today
and sticking with me. I wasn't sure I was going
to get through today's show. When I woke up this morning,
I didn't have a voice, no voice at all, and
so I wanted to croak out a shit. I love
doing these shows. So happy, it's twenty minutes of my day.
You guys make me feel so happy, handsome and special
(20:00):
and smart and clever and funny and everything else. So
thank you for listening. I'm sorry it's a little bit croaky,
but I promise I'm going to have a weekend of
tea and honey and I will sound as clear as
a bell on Monday. And remember, if you're going to
be naughty, you're going to be nice. I'm not working
you nice. Ra
