Actually it wasn't one call, its many calls. Prayers apparently
did himself some self harm during a live stream. This
blew up. I was in bed early last night. I
didn't feel so well, so I went to bed really
really early. But when I woke up this morning, my
phone had blown up. It was just everywhere. I've known
him for a long time, a really complicated fellow, and

I just hope that we can give him the grace
today that he never really gave anybody else. And that's
the sting to this story. He's in bad shape and
we are sending him love, his family love. He is complicated, though.
This is a man who's done really awful, awful things,
and now his family is asking for privacy, which is

ironic because Perez never gave anybody else that luxury. I
got to put it into context. Then he started out.
I met him about twenty six years ago. It's the
early two thousand's Mark. I was a publicist. I was
working for Ashley Simpson. She had just an SNL that disaster,
and he was ruthless. He was so cruel and so

mean to her at a time when she was really vulnerable.
I am not exaggerating to tell you that I spent
time with Ashley when she was in tears and it
was brought on by Perez, and I used to call
him and beg him just lay off her, give her
a day off, give her a week off, just lay office.
She's in a really bad place. She wasn't ready for
that type of fame. She was an extra on her

sister's reality show and suddenly she's been attacked every day
on the most powerful blog maybe of all time. That
was a while ago. He has changed, or at least
he says that he has changed. But this is a
difficult called subject for people like you and me, Mark
to cover, because we know the good, the bad and
everything else. What do you think we do?

And it is very complicated to you know, chat about
because I too know him from over the years, and
I think back to two thousand and nine, I was
working at the Tyra Banks Show and we had him
on the show as a guest, and Tyro tried to
make him promise that he would start being so mean.
She tried to, you know, incentivize him, and he didn't
do it. And you know, now we're here, even fifteen

years later, and it's you know, he's really suffering from.

It's really really suffering. Just to give people some insight,
I hit the phones. I spoke to him in April.
I invited him to my book party. You were there, Mark,
and he was in not in great shape. He was
very applied. We had a nice text exchange. He was suffering.
The last time I actually spoke to him was when
he was going to joy in my not reality show,
God Come Forbid my morning show. I had a gossip

morning show on v H one and they fired a
cast member to bring on Pereers, and so I had
to have many me with him about the show, and
he was quite honest with me. He said, I need
the money. He said, gonea the days where that site
was really popular. It was so red hot, but not
for a very long period of time. And the problem
is with the brand that he has, the hate brand,

it doesn't last. It only lasts for a few minutes
and after that there's nothing else left. So he needed
the money. We know he recently left Las Vegas, to
go back to Miami, to go back to Florida. I'm
told that was because of financial issues. Also, to anybody
that owns a website knows the traffics down. Algorithms have changed.

You used to get a Google search and if you
Google search Madonna, you'd click the top three stories. Now
you get AI. You don't get a link if you
type in what's Madonna being up to? Does Madonna have
a number one record? It used to be just websites
and you click the websites. Now have you type that in,
it's gonna be AI. It's gonna get a paragraph, so
you don't need to click on websites. So a lot

of people who own their own websites are really struggle
in so financial difficulties. We know he's had mental health
challenges also too. Let's be really honest about this. Perees
enjoyed the power. He enjoyed being the boss. As you
just said Mark on the Tyra Banks Show, a national
TV show. He didn't bend the knee. He had more

power than Tyra arguably, but he had a lot of
power back then. He doesn't anymore. It's over. And we've
seen this Mark with reality stars, with people in the media.
Once that power goes away, they really struggle to redefine themselves.
What do you think, you know?

I had someone tell me once that fame is the
most addictive drug in the world. And I do think
that Perez recognized his power of slipping. And I'm someone
who does follow his account. I'm just curious to see
what he does and when he talks about. And you
can tell in recent months even years that something was
off with him, and especially after he came down with
the sepsis and he was ill. He came back and

he found God and he was doing a lot of
videos about God and Jesus and all these things. And
I'm like, something is not right with the s guy.
And I don't know what it is, but I would
imagine the people that follow him also not only recognize
that the baby be disconnected, because that's not the content
they come to know from him.

It is so important Mark, It's not what they signed
up for. I think the success of the Naughty but
Nice Show is that is exactly who we are. Some
days we're naughty, naughty, but it is the truth. We're
not selling you a false bill of goods. Pereers was
a really mean, bitchy, bitchy queen who was the best

at being vile. And I did read that site. And
then when he had that epiphany member he spoke to Oprah,
he became nice. It all felt a little phony to me. Now,
I'm not saying I wanted him to be mean, but
I just didn't believe him being nice. He sort of
trapped himself in a world that he couldn't keep up.
And as that fame diminished. We've seen it with housewives,

We've seen it with reality stars. As that goes down
and down and down, their behavior becomes more and more
extreme to get attention. And the fact that he streamed this,
he live streamed and attempted suicide attempt some people are
saying that's a cry for help, clearly, But that's another
thing that we have to think about here. Big picture.

Let's try and give him some grace. He's asked for privacy.
Let's hope we do that. I'm going to treat this
with real kindness, but I'm not going to be naive
about it. There is some really dark sides the dark
past to Perez Hilton, and we can't just make people angels.
We have a habit of doing that, don't we? When
somebody God forbid passes or gets into trouble, we canonize them,

We turn them into saints. And I think that's a
big mistake, which brings us to our whole question. After
the day, Perez Hilton has been hospitalized for an apparent

But nevertheless she makes me laugh because she just says it.
Those are the two ingredients, isn't it. You gotta be

so disjointed, it doesn't all knit together. And I think

should cut she won't, but she could take her under

But this memory she had the Apprentice, the Martha Stewart Apprentice.

We've seen it with reality stars. As that goes down
and down and down, their behavior becomes more and more
extreme to get attention. And the fact that he streamed this,
he live streamed and attempted suicide attempt some people are
saying that's a cry for help, clearly, But that's another
thing that we have to think about here. Big picture.

Let's try and give him some grace. He's asked for privacy.

about it. There is some really dark sides the dark
past to Perez Hilton, and we can't just make people angels.

for you. Martha Stewart is questioning Megan Markle's homemaking reinvention.

Martha Stewart isn't convinced to make and Markle's latest career
move is a natural fit. The lifsa icon said it's
difficult to go from actress to princess and then reinvent
yourself as a homemaking expert, suggesting that transition doesn't sort
of follow now. She made these remarks while she was
attending a dinner party in California, which also hosted Megan
(08:43):
Markle exchanged a few words, but apparently everything was cordial.
Now we know her, you know from her brand as
ever with Megan and also with her show with Love Meghan.
But Martha says, you know, she wishes her well. She's
stressed though, that authenticity and genuine expertise are essential ingredients
for the success of a lifestyle brand.

Hey, that's too, that's two really important. I wouldn't mess
with Martha. I have a little bit of a crush
on Martha. I just whenever I'd bump into her, I
always giggle. She never remembers me, which makes me like
her even more. I just gig. I've sat with her,
I've had dinner with her, and she still doesn't remember me.
But nevertheless she makes me laugh because she just says it.
Those are the two ingredients, isn't it. You gotta be

authentic and you've got to be an expert. You can't
fake this stuff. We are experts at Celebrity News, we
really are. I challenge anybody to You might be able
to trick me with a question or two, or I
might get the wrong name for a Kardashian baby, but
I know this world. You do too, Mark We've done
it every day for decades. Megan hasn't done that. And
the transition from actress to princess to reality foods that

didn't do well, her reality show, her food show, and
now she wants to have a lifestyle brand. It's all
so disjointed, it doesn't all knit together. And I think
that's probably why Meghan is struggling here. You know, Martha
should cut she won't, but she could take her under
her wind. Now Megan wouldn't want to do that either.
But this memory she had the Apprentice, the Martha Stewart Apprentice.

I think Bethanie was on it. Megan, go and study
at the at the foot of Martha Stewart. You will
learn not only business technique, but you will learn expertise.
A lot of people don't like Martha. I get it.
I get it. She can be sometimes a little cold,

speaks to her team. It's very direct and she knows

her team and my team how she wanted to be lit.
She told me of the questions that she wanted me

in awe. She does things in a way that other people.
If Megan spoke to her team like Martha, you'd say

she's being rude. With Martha, it's so firm. But it's
not rude, Mark, it's not nasty. It's sharp. It's so sharp. Okay,
moving along. Passing Daily insists that he didn't get fired
from The Voice, that he's not leaving the Voice, but
it doesn't quite add up, so he's trying to set
the record straight. Have to keep keep. Palmer has announced

that she's gonna be the new host of The Voice Celebrity,
so they're doing a spinoff. Basically, they're gonna have celebrities
on this show, which sounds really fun to me. So
I guess these are going to be singers who are
not doing so well anymore, but you will remember then
maybe Debbie Gibson's maybe Tiffany's like people, maybe somebody from
entering Joey Footne is going to be on it. Let's

face it, Oh what's that one? We lance? Back lance
if you're listening, and so keep he's going to host this,
she and She's going to host it. And then everybody's like, well,
where's Carson. Well, he said he's going to be the
executive producer, but he doesn't feel like he's the right fit,
but he hopes to be back. This is not good
news anyone that's ever had it. And they bring somebody in,

but he's younger and cute and more plugged it than
you are. Not good. It's not good. I think he
should be worried.

I do too. The writing is on the wall for Carson.
But listen, you know when your TV is dying and
they recognize they want to bring in a millennial viewer
and the younger gen Z viewers, and Carson at this
point is too far removed. I'm not sure people know
who he is or cares. And Kiki is the girl
of the moment. She is everything, and I think it's
a really smart move to bring her in now as

a host.

I do she connects and just on social media. Cars
is not a big revealer. Now, we don't know much
about his private life. He's quite reserved. Actually, my friend
more In Callahan used to work with him at MTV.
He was a huge deal in the nineties, in the
two thousands at MTV. But you're right, people in their
thirties don't remember. They don't know what TRL wants. They

don't connect to that anymore. And these music shows, they
want them to be young, they want them to be hip,
they want people to sell records, they want people to watch,

been at jobs where they've brought people in for it

consulted with the consultant. Does your job. It is over, okay.

Instagram post about becoming a healthier version of yourself. Despite
criticism from others, now the message she liked encourage people
to prioritize their well being, even if personal growth changes

Yeah, I think this is a really smart way of
telling us she knows there's something cut up. It's been
such mixed messages when her publicist first announced that she
was dropping out of the London production, the stage production
of Sunday in the Park with George because of public scrutiny,
which was part of the statement that's not a quote,

but I'm paraphrased. And then Ariada that night was in
Chicago and she read from her phone a four minute
statement by herself and she said, no, it's not because
of scrutiny, and I'd never let people make me back down.
And now she is liking a post. My sources tell
me it's very serious. She's not in good shape. She
needs a moment. She has been working constantly since she

was what eleven, She needs a break. She just was
on arguably the biggest press tour for a movie I've
seen in a long time. Wicked was everywhere. It was relentless,
and then she didn't take a time off. She jumped
right into this massive tours. She's playing at sold out stadiums.
It messes with your mental health, it really really does.
Plus she's got to meet the Forkers in November, so

They understand that relationships create opportunities. Generosity builds influence, and
collaboration build success. Don't waste your energy trying to beat
somebody else. Instead, focus on becoming so good that everybody

I started collaborating with everybody, my life changed. There's enough
success out there for all of us. If we can
live in a world where Taylor Swift and Beyonce can
be successful, there's enough room for Rob Shooter and Mark Gloom.
Build your friends up and when they do well, you'll
do well. And when you get a great opportunity, you'll

drag your friends along with you. Once again, people at
the bottom, at the very very bottom, they compete. People
