I got a little bit of a cold last week.
Listeners of the show Naughty's all mo On Friday. I
could barely get through the show. I was croaking through it.
I thought it was allergius. It was actually a cold.
So I've had an alcohol free weekend. But we should
talk about the tones, because no alcohol did not stop
me from having a fabulous night. Schmiggerdoon is best musical

i've seen it. Old fashioned but still sort of modern.
It's sort of like a spoof on musicals, but done
in the most loving way. If you saw the TV show,
did a TV show? I did not, And now I'm
going to go back and watch it. The night that
I saw it, a lot of people in the audience
knew the songs, knew the TV show, and they loved it.
I did not know anything going in apart from Anna
(01:11):
Gasca and was in it who I loved from Saturday
Night Live. And so I sat down in my seat
and for an hour and a half two hours, I
was thoroughly entertained.

It's the best.

Musical of the year. And then revival too. We should
point out these are the two big awards, the best Musical,
New Musical and the best revival that's an old musical
that they've brought back. Was Ragtime. The greatest show I've
seen this year, maybe made me cry. If you have
a chance see it.

In comparison from like when you saw the last time
it was on Broadway, Like what made it so much
better for you personally?
Speaker 1 (01:44):
What made it better is they've got a really great
director who got rid of all the sets, so it
is now actors on stage and you're not bothered by
all the sets to distracting you. It's just the actors
and their voices and the story and the songs and
the material, and so it's thrilling and also too, Let's
be honest, it was twenty years ago and sometimes we're

just not ready for that type of show. Chicago, The
Musical is on Broadway. Pink last night was fabulous in
Chicago to choose it, but that came back after thirty years.
And the reason that that revival did so well is
society changes, tastes change, and so at the moment to
have a story and we're not a political show by
any means to have a musical about immigrants and people

get in along, which is what RAGTIME's about, and people
of color. It is just now's the moment.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Do you think last night, after Pink's fabulous job hosting,
but even more so her performance from Chicago, she might
have just landed herself a role in Chicago.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
Oh, they'd take her in a second. I actually texted
the producers of Chicago last night and they were like,
we watch it. I was like, she's not in Chicago
by Monday, you fools.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Well, yes, especially since it isn't the fact that Chicago
is coming to the end of it's run, or maybe
it was and Juliette, but one of the two need
to eat her up as soon as possible.

Whenever musicals dip. And so Chicago's been there for over
a decade. I think it's twenty years. The reason that
they've kept it alive is what they call stunt casting.
They put different stars in it and Julietta are the same.
They're not doing it quite as successfully. I don't think
they're going to be around for thirty years. But Chicago
has another good ten. If Pink goes in it, they've
got another twenty years. So Pink has relaunched her career.

Last night she still sells out arena. She's still a
fabulous pop star. But if she wants to be a
Broadway leading lady, last night she proved it. Let's get
into the show. Okay, my friends, what time is it.
It is a tea time, tee time. You're exactly right.
Big story at the top of the show. So Scott
Pelly from Sixty Minutes, we don't normally cover him on
this show. He broke down in tears. He did this
really beautiful emotional interview about being fired from the show,

really upset, and he said, at one point it felt
like your spouse being murdered, your spouse being murdered. He
called the layoffs black Thursday massacre. That's when people got fired.
Now his comments come after he was fired after a
heated confrontation with the new management of CBS. Let me
put this into a little nutshell for you. So CBS

has been sold, they have new owners. Whenever a company
gets sold, wherever you work, it might be TV, it
might be a store, it might be a restaurant, wherever
you work. Whenever you have a new owner, they change things.
They buy companies and it's their money. So they've bought CBS.
They don't like the way CBS is run. There is
(04:35):
some political implications too, but we're not going to get
into that. But they don't like it. But at the
end of the day, it's a job, Scott, and to
compare a job to murdering a spouse, I think that's
a little over the.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
Top, and I get it right.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
I think there's a better way to phrase it, you know,
especially since he's put his entire life and career there.
It's almost a part of him in a way, but
definitely a different way to freeze his loss obviously, But
I also see the other side of understanding his frustration
with it, where you know its imagine his everyday life

just up and pulled it out from underneath him. I
do wish Succession was still around because this would have
just been a fabulous storyline of succession of just you know,
turning over the news division, going a certain way from
a different way, like it feels like we're watching a
TV show.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
It does feel like that. But I've got to say
there's a learning moment here. Noughties. Don't be this attached
to your job. It's easier said than done, right. I
love my job. I love my work, but I love
Bruce Moore. I love my private life more than my job.
In fact, my job is what I do. It's not
who I am. I have friends, particularly friends who are performers.
(05:49):
Their job is who they are. That's all they do.
They will never retire. They can't retire. However, most of
our jobs, even if you're very very very very successful,
involve an employer. And when you get a new boss,
when somebody else comes in and takes over, they can
make changes. That's just the way it works. If you
(06:11):
buy a company, I can come in and make changes.
Of my heartbreaks for Scott on the sixteen Minute team.
They've been there, many of them for decades. This was
their life. But I do think the lesson here is
be careful. Be careful because one day you're gonna wake
up and you're going to realize all you had was
your job, and your job doesn't care about you as
(06:32):
much as you think. It's a very good lesson. I
read this amazing survey. It was done by nurses in
nursing homes when people are close to the end, and
they said people's biggest regret in life just before they
pass it's not that they didn't work more, not that
they didn't make more money, not that they weren't more successful. No,
their biggest regret is always the same. It's they didn't
(06:54):
spend enough time with their family. Think about it, all
their friends think about it. We have a very good balance.
I think, Garrett, you have an extraordinary job. You've had
it for decad It's a really long time and I'm
not going to say anything to put that down. It's amazing,
but it is a job. You do have a life
outside of that recording studio. Yes, you have children, you

have a wife, you have family.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
It is hard at times though, because you are you
want to be invested as best as possible, and you
feel like as by investing so much, you feel as
if you know it's helping you go forward.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
But to your point, though, it may not be the
same feelings on the other side of it.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
But it's hard to see that sometimes. So that's why
I think some people do get lost it in the
hopes of oh that's not me care.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Let me be controversial. We'll move on quickly. So you
spent a moment today doing the Tony's too. I think
that people my friends that are over invested in their
jobs is because they're scared of having a private life.
They're frightened of having their heart hurt by meeting somebody,
by dating, by having friends. And so the the few
friends that I have, that's about a handful. Who all
(08:03):
they care about is their jobs. That's all they focus on.
I think it's about their lack of intimacy. They just
don't want what I call real relationships. My relationship with
my job, it's not real. It's what I do, it's
not who I am. Okay, let's get to our pole

So Olympic Champion, gold medalist extraordinary Simone Biles just revealed
that she almost died from a mysterious medical emergency just
the other week. So she's recovering right now, but she
described the frightening medical emergency that pretty much almost cost
her her life. So she shot fans by taking to Instagram,
which in theory, it's weird to think that, like that's
(09:14):
how you learn about things now, you know, you're just
scrolling on your phone, like, oh my god, Siman almost died.
But she was saying that she almost died earlier in
the week after giving her details about what happened, she's
keeping them private, but she's saying it was a very
terrifying experience that she's ever faced before. And we're talking
about being on the world stage and thinking about going
(09:37):
for a medal is one thing, but then thinking about
possibly dying a whole other thing by the way, Rob
So she's only twenty eight years old. But she said
it was difficult because her husband, who is in the
NFL playing football, he was doing something before the season
to get ready for the football season, and he was
in Indianapolis, so he was nowhere near home, so she
had to she had to pretty much just rely on
(09:58):
help with friends, family, whoever. But she spent much of
the week rusting up in bed. She thanked her friend's family,
who all checked in and sent her flowers for her recovery.
We don't know what it is, but she did say
in due time she will talk about what she went through,
which I mean, it's it's insane that any given day
a piano can drop out of the sky.

And just tune.

That's right, everybody be grateful for every day. I think
this story ties in a little bit to our lead
story on sixty Minutes since Scott Pelle. This is somebody,
This is somebody who has experienced something really life changing,
and those are the moments where you look for your partners.
Not she didn't notice. She didn't say my work colleagues
didn't check it on there. It was her husband. That's

you've got She didn't say that. And also too, I
think the way that she announced it is a reason
why shows like sixty minutes won't have the same impact.
Now we do it on social media and you know,
like we don't have to wait until to get it.
She's getting a little bit of pushback here. Some people

of attention here. Give her the benefit of the diet. Everybody,

is JFK. Junior May Rest in Peace, told Princess Diana,
may she rest in peace, that she had a great

pair of legs. She certainly did so. He had a
magazine at before his death. He started a magazine called
George And because of who he was, because of who
he is, he could get meetings with some of the
biggest stars on the world, in the world to try
and convince them to do the cover. He met with
Princess Diana. Can you imagine that he met with Princess
Diana here in New York at the Carlisle Hotel, which

is why Harry and Megan statement, they're in New York
and so she let the car Our Hotel met with her,
trying to convince her to do the cover. She ultimately
said no, she didn't. She didn't want to do the cover.
She did not need publicity. Let's start one of the
most famous people in the world. But he did go
back to the office and said, well, she said no,
but she has a great pair of legs. I love

that they notice these things. I know. We live in
a world now, and I'm grateful for that world where
we should be careful about what we say about one another.
We shouldn't reduce one another to a physical aspect, particularly
we do this with women. Let's be clear, nobody has
come back from a meeting and said he has a
great pair of legs. Maybe I have, maybe you have, Garrett.

and they were done. It was done in such a

they're a family and they've really really supported one another.

And they said it continues to bond us in ways
they can't even describe. They said, quote if our sister's
heart is broken, as is too. Just a beautiful sentiment
and a reminder that Savannah Mom, after all these days,
is still missing. Kate Middleton reunited over the weekend sort

right at the top. She went to a wedding. Peter
Phillips got married to Harriet in the Cottsworld, a beautiful
part of Britain. Peter is Princess Anne's son, so this

Prince Andrew. Thank goodness? It was Rupert Finch. Now if

here before the rumors start. He's happily married. She's happily married,
and he even attended her wedding with William, so after

sports reporter his name is Martin Brundle. He asked Kim
a question. She was at Monaco's, a grand pre very

came in second, and it was really awkward. So we

went up to Kim, who was with Chloe, and started
asking questions about enjoying Formula one. She didn't respond. Instead,
she just waved and then she sort of walked away
with her entourage. I think this world is new to Kim.
I know it is, so she did not recognize Martin.
He is like the Billy Bush of sports. He's really
the holder copy of sports. He is recognizable. He's Katie

Couric type, and Billy Bush is controversial, so I probably
we shouldn't use him as an example. This is a
really nice guy that all the sports people speak to. Kim. Clearly,
Cli Cli, she did know who he was. She's just
started dating. This world is new to her. She looked
a little bit overwhelmed. Nobody can accuse Kim Kardashian of
not enjoying press or talking talking to the press, she

talks maybe too much to the press. I think we
could argue, but at this evening, this event, she was
a looks came across as rude. If you watch the video,
I understand why you say it was rude. I think

nursing homes when people are close to the end, and
they said people's biggest regret in life just before they
pass it's not that they didn't work more, not that
they didn't make more money, not that they weren't more successful. No,
their biggest regret is always the same. It's they didn't

spend enough time with their family. Think about it, all
their friends think about it. We have a very good balance.
I think, Garrett, you have an extraordinary job. You've had
it for decad It's a really long time and I'm
not going to say anything to put that down. It's amazing,
but it is a job. You do have a life
outside of that recording studio. Yes, you have children, you

have a wife, you have family.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
It is hard at times though, because you are you
want to be invested as best as possible, and you
feel like as by investing so much, you feel as
if you know it's helping you go forward.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
But to your point, though, it may not be the
same feelings on the other side of it.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
But it's hard to see that sometimes. So that's why
I think some people do get lost it in the
hopes of oh that's not me care.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Let me be controversial. We'll move on quickly. So you
spent a moment today doing the Tony's too. I think
that people my friends that are over invested in their
jobs is because they're scared of having a private life.
They're frightened of having their heart hurt by meeting somebody,
by dating, by having friends. And so the the few
friends that I have, that's about a handful. Who all

they care about is their jobs. That's all they focus on.
I think it's about their lack of intimacy. They just
don't want what I call real relationships. My relationship with
my job, it's not real. It's what I do, it's

So Olympic Champion, gold medalist extraordinary Simone Biles just revealed
that she almost died from a mysterious medical emergency just
the other week. So she's recovering right now, but she
described the frightening medical emergency that pretty much almost cost
her her life. So she shot fans by taking to Instagram,
which in theory, it's weird to think that, like that's
(09:14):
how you learn about things now, you know, you're just
scrolling on your phone, like, oh my god, Siman almost died.
But she was saying that she almost died earlier in
the week after giving her details about what happened, she's
keeping them private, but she's saying it was a very
terrifying experience that she's ever faced before. And we're talking
about being on the world stage and thinking about going
(09:37):
for a medal is one thing, but then thinking about
possibly dying a whole other thing by the way, Rob
So she's only twenty eight years old. But she said
it was difficult because her husband, who is in the
NFL playing football, he was doing something before the season
to get ready for the football season, and he was
in Indianapolis, so he was nowhere near home, so she
had to she had to pretty much just rely on
(09:58):
help with friends, family, whoever. But she spent much of
the week rusting up in bed. She thanked her friend's family,
who all checked in and sent her flowers for her recovery.
We don't know what it is, but she did say
in due time she will talk about what she went through,
which I mean, it's it's insane that any given day
a piano can drop out of the sky.

That's right, everybody be grateful for every day. I think
this story ties in a little bit to our lead
story on sixty Minutes since Scott Pelle. This is somebody,
This is somebody who has experienced something really life changing,
and those are the moments where you look for your partners.
Not she didn't notice. She didn't say my work colleagues
didn't check it on there. It was her husband. That's

you've got She didn't say that. And also too, I
think the way that she announced it is a reason
why shows like sixty minutes won't have the same impact.
Now we do it on social media and you know,
like we don't have to wait until to get it.
She's getting a little bit of pushback here. Some people

are saying she's teasing us. She wants a little bit
of attention here. Give her the benefit of the diet. Everybody,

Death as like I need attention, like I almost died. Please,
like you got to give the people the benefit.

real housewife. If they say this, please believe them. We
know there's a lot of thirsty celebrities out there. She's
not one of those who were sending in nothing but
the best. Okay, Moving along, Another revelation over the weekend
is JFK. Junior May Rest in Peace, told Princess Diana,
may she rest in peace, that she had a great

pair of legs. She certainly did so. He had a
magazine at before his death. He started a magazine called
George And because of who he was, because of who
he is, he could get meetings with some of the
biggest stars on the world, in the world to try
and convince them to do the cover. He met with
Princess Diana. Can you imagine that he met with Princess
Diana here in New York at the Carlisle Hotel, which

is why Harry and Megan statement, they're in New York
and so she let the car Our Hotel met with her,
trying to convince her to do the cover. She ultimately
said no, she didn't. She didn't want to do the cover.
She did not need publicity. Let's start one of the
most famous people in the world. But he did go
back to the office and said, well, she said no,
but she has a great pair of legs. I love
(12:16):
that they notice these things. I know. We live in
a world now, and I'm grateful for that world where
we should be careful about what we say about one another.
We shouldn't reduce one another to a physical aspect, particularly
we do this with women. Let's be clear, nobody has
come back from a meeting and said he has a
great pair of legs. Maybe I have, maybe you have, Garrett.

You know, oh, I only meet you in shorts.

both both Jenna Bush and Chanelle talk about Savannah. It's

is going on. Well, they did an interview together and
they were asked about Savannah. It was by page six
and they were done. It was done in such a
respectable way. Normally these questions make me cringe a little bit.
What are you gonna say? What is she going to say?
But they asked, and they said it's actually brought us
closer together. And they said that their sisters over there,
they're a family and they've really really supported one another.

And they said it continues to bond us in ways
they can't even describe. They said, quote if our sister's
heart is broken, as is too. Just a beautiful sentiment
and a reminder that Savannah Mom, after all these days,
is still missing. Kate Middleton reunited over the weekend sort

of with an ex boyfriend. Oh which side scandalous? It
is not, so let me get that out the way
right at the top. She went to a wedding. Peter
Phillips got married to Harriet in the Cottsworld, a beautiful
part of Britain. Peter is Princess Anne's son, so this
is a big royal wedding. Well guess he was also
at the wedding. Wasn't Harry, wasn't Megan, wasn't the disgraced

Prince Andrew. Thank goodness? It was Rupert Finch. Now if
you recognize that name, then you really do follow the
royal family, which I do. I knew him immediately. Kate
used to date him at Saint Andrew's University back in
the early two thousands. Before she started to date William,
Kate was dating this very handsome gentleman Rupert. They do

still speak And let me just put everything to rest
here before the rumors start. He's happily married. She's happily married,
and he even attended her wedding with William, so after
they dated, they became really great friends. He's really close
with William too. He's close with the royal family. But
maybe a moment when you bump into an ex and already,

I've been to Vegas a lot. I've been there with Bruce.
He's been working out there a lot too. Waking up

Kim Kardashian is slammed for being rude. So a legendary
sports reporter his name is Martin Brundle. He asked Kim
a question. She was at Monaco's, a grand pre very

came in second, and it was really awkward. So we

went up to Kim, who was with Chloe, and started
asking questions about enjoying Formula one. She didn't respond. Instead,
she just waved and then she sort of walked away
with her entourage. I think this world is new to Kim.
I know it is, so she did not recognize Martin.
He is like the Billy Bush of sports. He's really
the holder copy of sports. He is recognizable. He's Katie

Couric type, and Billy Bush is controversial, so I probably
we shouldn't use him as an example. This is a
really nice guy that all the sports people speak to. Kim. Clearly,
Cli Cli, she did know who he was. She's just
started dating. This world is new to her. She looked
a little bit overwhelmed. Nobody can accuse Kim Kardashian of
not enjoying press or talking talking to the press, she

talks maybe too much to the press. I think we
could argue, but at this evening, this event, she was
a looks came across as rude. If you watch the video,
I understand why you say it was rude. I think
she was just a little bit overwhelmed. Okay, let's end
