As you watch the Indiana who do what many didn't
think they could outside of the state of Indiana, and
in that locker room they go in and they win
the Big Team Big Ten Championship by the score of
thirteen to ten over the number one buck guys who's
trying to win it back to back consecutive years and
(03:17):
going to the national champion. Indiana's good. They're very good.
They're better than I even previously thought. You know, Ojoe,
we talked about it. He's like, maybe it's the level
of competition. But after watching them tonight go toe to toe,
and we know what Ohio State has the offer offensively, defensively,
those skill set players, those players.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
Yes, it really shouldn't have been that close.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
Had Ohio State defense not been on their game, that
game would have been a blowout because Indiana was going
up and down the field.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
They're selling for field goals in the red zone.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
But yeah, they were able to go up and down
the field at will two and defensively they played really good.
If you look at if you look at hey, if
you look at the not the players and where they're from,
the type of players that Indiana has. They got a
bunch of dogs. They got a bunch of dogs, a
bunch of bunch of players out from from California. They
(04:11):
got a lot of them from Miami down you know,
down here, from down south. So they have the right
and the fact that they were able to get those
type of players to go to Indiana, says a Lot,
is one of the reasons why they looked the way
they did against Ohio State.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
They look very good tonight.
Speaker 1 (04:25):

very special guests joining us.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
We got SEC champion Georgia running back Nate Fraser and
Texas tech Romelo Height joining us a little bit later.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
But first you watch.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
The Indiana Hoosiers win the Big Ten championship by the
score of thirteen to thirteen ten ob Ohio State. They
were the number two team. There'll be number one one,
There'll be number one going into the college football playoff.
Now we see why Signetta didn't even entertain anything any
other offers. He does have Jimmy Sexton as his agent.
(06:12):
Sure LSU would have loved to have in Penn State,
would have loved to have it any other job opens.
But now you see why he stayed put. He realized
what he has. He's like, you know what, I can
continue for a national championship right here at IU, and
I can get eleven million dollars right here at IU.
I don't need to go anywhere and try to revitalize
a program when I can stay right here and stay
(06:33):
with the program that I built.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
He built this program.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
They have the second most losses in NCAA history, over
seven almost eight hundred losses. It's gonna be it's gonna
be a while before they get to eight hundred losses.
But I think they have seven to seventy five. I
think they put that on the screen. But when you
look at this team, o Cho, when you look at
them offensively, you look at them defensively. That's what I
was most impressed with. Because you see a team put
up fifty points, sixty points, seventy points, you know they
(06:58):
got pretty good offense.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
But the defense to.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
Do what they did to that team with the last
time Ohio State scored ten points in the ball game,
or the entirety of a ball game with those weapons
that they got offensively, the man you got to tip
your hair, IU, I tell my hat coach signetic Hey,
hell of a John coach, hell of a job.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (07:18):
Now.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
And the funny thing about it is coaching is one thing,
but like just like boxing styles and personnel, it helps
you win. As great as the players are offensively for
Ohio State, Indiana, the Hoosias, the defense, the defensive players
at their at those specific positions. You know, as far
as the dv's going against those those elite receivers, they
(07:39):
have the personnel to be able to stifle that offense
the way they did today. Because of the personnel that
they do have, they played extremely well. And the owners,
to me on this win is more on the defense
as opposed to it is the.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
Offense, because you see the way they got after saying
they sacked them five times, they pressured him numerous times.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
And I think the thing when you when you.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
Look at it, I think the difference between this year
and last year, they were not in the moment. They
were just happy to be there. I you had never
been to a Big ten championship. Nobody expected that they
sprung up out of nowhere. They're like you know, like,
oh Joe, Dad, they tear a building, died in the thing,
like damn, when did they put that? When did they
put that back there? When did they put that shopping
center there? They just came out of nowhere.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
This year. They expected to be there. They weren't.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
In Ah the moment. They wanted to prove that this
year wasn't a fluke like last year was. A lot
of people thought last year was a fluke. I thought
it was because I never thought Indiana, that's a basketball coach,
would be where they are. Indiana's a basketball state where
it used to be before Peyton Manning, it was a
basketball in the Indianapolis five hundred state. But now with
(08:44):
Peyton coming there as a football state and now what
I you, Oh my goodness, coach Signetty, you know you
tip your hat to him because he did an unbelievable job,
an unbelievable job of scouting, recruiting, getting the staff together
for that. No, Mendozo, He's gonna win the heysman. I
think what he did tonight, he was I think he
was the betting favorite coming in. Sam was right there
(09:06):
on his tail. But I think with what he did
tonight and what he's done all year. I think he's
more than the more than earned the right. Ain't no
more deserving, He's more than earned it right to beat
the Heisman Trophy winner of twenty twenty five. So he's
definitely getting an invitation and I believe he will be
the winner of the twenty twenty five Heisman Trophy when
it's presented at the Downtown Athletic Club. Clearly, this is
(09:27):
the biggest win in IU history. They took down the
team I don't know whomen the last time. I mean,
they were the defending Big ten champs, they were defending
national champs, and they beat them. They were more physical,
they were more It's not often because Indiana got a
lot of excuse me, Ohio State has a lot of
guys that's gonna play on Sunday. Caleb Downs, they got Jeremias,
(09:49):
Jeremiles Smith, they got a lot of pay that Caten
Curry number ninety two. He's gonna play on Sunday. Yes,
he's gonna play on Sunday. They got a lot of
guys gonna play. And for Indiana to come in there
and be just as physical, if not more physical, to
be as disciplined, if not more disciplined what Ohio State was.
You gotta tip your hat to Indiana. They earned this victory.
(10:11):
They left no doubt, they left no doubt. This is
the best team in the country.
Speaker 3 (10:16):
Yeah. And the game, especially the game of this magnitude.
You know, it is one up front. It's one up front.
The game is won in the trenches. And that's exactly
what they won. And then defensively, the Hoosias weren't a scared.
They weren't. They weren't scared to be able to blitch either,
because you most of the time you do blitz hell,
you put your back in, you put it back in
in harm's way. But listen, the back in the place,
(10:38):
so goddamn well, they had no problem being able to
do so. So listen, I tell you the truth. I
was surprised. I was surprised that Indiana. I knew. I
understood the players that they had, I understood the personnel
that they had, but I didn't know they were this good.
I didn't know they were just good.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:56):
And you know, look, we talked about Indiana and we
had I think ponds On did we have him on
the dB from Indiana?
Speaker 2 (11:03):
Wasn't he on last year.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
Yeah, yeah, and you know he was talking about and
I think the thing yels Old chose that. Like I said,
they scored seventy points, they scored fifty points. They're beating
Big ten opponents by fifty plus points a game, and
I'm just thinking, Okay, what about the level of competition
we're gonna see when they happen in Ohio State.
Speaker 2 (11:19):
I apologized chat.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
I spoke, Oregon was the defending Big Ten champs, not
Ohio State. They got in because Indy Oregon had beat
them in Oregon, and then they played Oregon later and
they beat the breaks off Oregon. But that's neither here
nor there. This is indiana first outright Big ten titles
since nineteen forty five. I don't know how many in
the chat was alive when when Indiana won the last Big.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
Ten championship, but.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
They look this was as an impressive performance that I've
seen this year, the way they went in and like
I said, I believe the biggest difference between this year
and last year.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
They were not in Awe. They they were not in
ourfs of Ohio State.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
They a the buck guys and the defending champs, and
they got all these guys, they got a twenty million
dollar roster.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
Okay, finding good.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
But at the end of the day, no matter how
much a guy has in his bank account, he still
has to go out to perform.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
I don't care if you got nform. I don't care
what level you are.
Speaker 1 (12:19):
At the end of the day, your bank account they
got nothing to do with what you're doing on this field.
You still got your form. You got that money, and
deservedly so. But Indiana said, you know what, guys, we got,
we got, we got, we got sixty minutes to prove
who's the better team.
Speaker 3 (12:37):
Yeah, and money and money don't matter at that point,
not in between the lions, in between them lines that
money don't matter.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
Nope, Ohio State suffered his first loss of the season.
Kurt Signetti has completed one of the greatest turnarounds in
college football history.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
Uh Man.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
If you go back and think about what coach coach
Saban had on his staff, from Coach Signati to Lane Kiffin,
the Kurt be Smart to a crystal ball, to Dan
Landing with a grad system to Mail Tucker. You look
at what he had. Billy Napier, It's hard to find.
It's hard to find a better coaching tree than that
in college football.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
And with that being said, man, I'm just impressed. I'm
just impressed with Indiana because of what I want to
actually sit down and just watch them on your because
a lot of time that you know, they think they
played who they played Georgia State to day somebody, and
they beat them seventy to seventy to seven, and they
beat they beating team sixty ten. I'm like, man, what
(13:36):
am I gonna get out of this? I said, I
want to see them play. The only time they were
really put to the test is that they had on
fourth down they had to make that catch against I
think it was Penn State. That was really the only
time that we really saw them tested. I said, well,
you know what, they're gonna be in the Big Ten
championship opposite of Ohio State and we're gonna find out
if they're for real or not. And I think that's
what everybody was waiting and walk watching for. Let's see
(13:59):
how well, let's see you go up against the buck
Eyes big oh night.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
Ah you Yeah, they showed up.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
They showed up.
Speaker 3 (14:11):
Hey, I know this is very impressive, but but for
for you as a coach, turning a turning a team
around like this and winning the Big Ten? Is this
the best turnaround you've seen in college football being that
it's a basketball school that you've ever seen?
Speaker 1 (14:28):
Yes, yes, yes, Okay, because coach Saban turning around Alabama.
Alabama had already won eight nine national championships. Okay, Ohio State,
everybody knows Ohio State.
Speaker 5 (14:41):
Uh uh?
Speaker 1 (14:42):
And when they what they were and winning at the
level in Michigan, everybody know those were prominent programs.
Speaker 2 (14:47):
This is a basketball school. This is a basketball school.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
And I'm sure now people are looking like a coach,
a coach bella chap, you had a basketball school, what
you got?
Speaker 2 (15:00):
You see what coach Signetti did with IU.
Speaker 3 (15:03):
Hey, that's that's not fair.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
UNC. Come on, I'm just saying that's gonna be this.
Speaker 3 (15:07):
I got you, I got you, Yeah, I got you.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
No, Look it's the first year. I mean, coach Signetta
didn't do this in his first year. It took time.
But that's the level of expectations that fans and people
are gonna boosters and an alumni, that's what they're gonna have.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
You're the greatest coach in NFL history.
Speaker 1 (15:23):
You go to a basketball school, and and we saw
what Signatti did at IU. This is what they're going
to expect from coach Belichick. If he stays I don't
know what's gonna happen, But if he stays there, that's
what they're going to expect. But I you with what
he oh Joe, that third down call, that third down call,
and that came by Charlie Becker and that throwed by Mendoza,
(15:45):
that called by Signati.
Speaker 3 (15:47):
That's clutch. That that's clutch. If you look at if
you look in the dictionary, you look up the definition
of clutch.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
That play.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
That play itself should be inserted right there as visual reference.
And what clutch is they need that? I mean in
the higho Ohio State didn't help themselves that four down
that you needed to convert the shank field goal. I mean,
all those pushing behind them.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
Well, I you missed the field goal to the guys.
Speaker 1 (16:14):
Shank one red zone mistake by Ohio State on the
fourth and one at the five they get zero points,
thirty one at the nine they get zero points, and
I you gotta they You know, we talk about defenses,
and we talk about Georgia's defense and what they're able
to do.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
Don't sleep on I U now, don't sleep on. It
had been very interesting.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
Like I said, I thought Indiana could have really put
some pressure on IU early because they were getting into
the red zone and they're having to score settle for
three and they have to settle for field goals. I'm like, boy,
that's gonna bite y'all in the butt. Y'all need to
put this y'all need to put some pressure on this team.
You're not gonna put them away in the first half
because you still have a whole half of football to go,
but you can put them on an extreme the rest,
and that's what you want to be when you.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
Play a team like Ohio State.
Speaker 1 (17:01):
The longer I can get you out in the deep
water because you hadn't been there in a while. You
say you could swim, but that's in a pool, right.
Let me take you out in the oh shit, where
you got current, you got rip tied, yes, you got sharks,
you got other things around you. Uh, can you swim
in this body of water?
Speaker 2 (17:24):
That's what our different log.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
The longer this game got on, the longer this game went,
and Indiana was attached to him, and then they got
the lead that hold on, when was the last time.
When was the last time Ohio State was in a game?
Here we are in the third quarter, early fourth quarter,
and there behind or a team is this close to him?
Speaker 3 (17:43):
Mm hmm. It's been a while, and it'll it don't
do nothing to give you confidence, too, it don't. It
don't do nothing to give you confidence and gives not
just the coaching staff but those players understanding where they
are in this game. Well, hell, this is the mighties,
this is the mighty Ohio State. You mean to tell
me right here playing ball with them quarter to quarter,
(18:04):
down to down. I mean we could do this. That
kids tough and they came out, they came out of.
Speaker 2 (18:09):
And then those are the first player. We was that
the first player, the second player of the game. He
rolled out.
Speaker 3 (18:13):
You got hit him the right.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
And I think that was I think that was hold On.
That was the number ninety two. That was kayten Curry
to hit him right. That was him again, not because
you know what I'm saying, Oho, you like he saw
him at the last second, But you couldn't brace You
can't brace for that. You put that show there like
oh lord, And but give those guys credit. They came
(18:36):
out for and picked and picked them off, set them
up for and got him in field goal range. Oh Joe,
it's gonna be very interesting to see how this thing
play out. We're gonna talk about this.
Speaker 3 (18:47):
But Alabama, they didn't belong in that field with Georgia. No,
they didn't belong on the field with Georgia. I don't
care about nobody saying I understand how the first game
win at the beginning of the season, I understand how
it went, but that means nothing. That means nothing when
you the first game of the season, I'm not even
gonna count that. I'm not gonna count that because you
(19:08):
as a team, you know, you aren't even into yourself yet.
You haven't found your stride. You haven't found your stride.
So when you play in the last game of the season,
one that matters most, one as important as this, obviously
with the college playoffs on the line, that's when you're
supposed to play your best football towards the end of
(19:29):
the seasons, and when you're normally playing your best football.
What we saw today from Alabama, that's unacceptable. That's unacceptable.
And I still think that the committee's going to find
a way to make sure they're in the college playoffs.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
They said they're not gonna punish teams for losing into
college if your champion, you know, your conference championship a boat, Joe.
But I call this the Alabama had to looked good
for the last month. I told y'all, everybody, man, get
off Todd Simpson, Get off Todd Simpson.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
I said, Todd Simpson, it's playing bad.
Speaker 1 (20:02):
Go back and look at Alabama's office the last month.
I don't care what you say. And he made a
cardinal sining is far down. You cannot throw the ball
out of bounds. If it's out of it's incomplete. Even
if you have to give your guy chance. You didn't
give you a damn chance.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
You throwing out of barrens, and then you looking like
what you probably should have took them back on the rim.
Speaker 6 (20:30):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
Guys are making mistakes that I shouldn't have to tell
a quarterback not to throw the ball out of bounds.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
I shouldn't have fourth down on you. I shouldn't have
to tell you that give the guy a chance.
Speaker 3 (20:46):
I mean, and especially for the quarterback, even if your
coach doesn't tell you what to do. It's all about
understanding the situation, situational awareness. Situational awareness, that's what it
comes down to. Knowing that you can't throw the ball
out of I have to give for wherever I choose
to throw the ball to, I gotta give him a chance.
You have to and to just throw the bounds. And
(21:07):
it makes no sense.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
Drives me crazy to see guys on fourth down throw
the ball out the end zone? What do you hell
you was hoping? Are you worried about your completion percentage?
You're worried about not throwing an interception? Tell me what
you hope to accomplish by throwing the ball out of
the end zone or throwing the ball out of bounds
on fourth down? Tell me what you gained from that.
Tell me how does that help the team? And I'm like, bro,
(21:28):
I noticed, I'm saying, I say, I know this kid
did not just throw this.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
Ball out of bounds.
Speaker 1 (21:34):
Yeah, And I'm I don't know who's calling the players,
but how many times are you guys gonna go scat
protection and gonna let Georgia blitscher?
Speaker 2 (21:47):
I'm confused.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
I think I think let's go ahead and get this
game on. Joe, we got we gotta let's let's get
to the Georgia game. Yes, sir uh George Allen. After
Curby Smart Team, they dropped seven of their previous eight
games against the Crimson tie, the number three bulletdof flipped
the script and put on a dominant performance in the
SEC championship game and the Mercedes ben don't Mercedes Benz
(22:11):
Stadium in Atlanta by securing their second straight SEC title.
The Bulldogs finished twelve and one and likely secured the
top four seed. I think they're gonna be the number
two seed. That's me personally, But now they here nor there.
Maybe they leave, maybe they leave Ohio stated too, but
I think they're gonna be number two. It's the first
time Georgia's went back to back SEC championships since herschel
(22:32):
Walker led the Bulldofs to three straight in nineteen eighty
eighty two. They won the national championship in nineteen eighty
over Notre Dame and then they lost a couple of
them in the What I think they lost in eighty
one and eighty two. I think they lost eighty two
to Penn State if I'm not mistaken. And what you
were talking about, Oh Joe, do you realize Alabama randa
(22:56):
ball sixteen times for minus three yards.
Speaker 3 (22:58):
Oh Joe, absolutely absolutely. I mean statistically, you look at
the stats and you don't look at the scoreboard. You
know Alabama lost this game. You know they lost this game.
I mean, I mean Tyler Simpson was nineteen for what
thirty nine won reception.
Speaker 2 (23:15):
For two twelve.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
But you look at everything everything else. Statistically, you know
they lost this game. It's no way they won that game.
Speaker 2 (23:22):
Man, Georgia.
Speaker 3 (23:23):
Georgia was dominant in all three phases of the game,
all three defense, offense, held special teams. I'm surprised Alabama
even was able to get seven points tonight.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
Yeah, based on and again returners.
Speaker 1 (23:39):
You see Alabama returners. You put your heels at team.
If the ball goes over your head, you're like, coach,
I made the teen.
Speaker 2 (23:45):
Let it go.
Speaker 1 (23:46):
How you feeling up? You fair catching a point? Like
you doing something special at the five? You fumbled it
and now you got the ball at the three.
Speaker 3 (23:56):
Stuff like that cost you unk. Stuff like that cost
you at every level. You know, you put your heels
on the ten. Anything that goes over your head or
past that you let go. You wave everybody ass off
to get out the way, and you let the ball go.
They if they happen to touch the ball inside inside,
inside the five before crosses, that's not on you. That's
(24:20):
not on you.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
Yeah, they look Georgia looked like the superior team. They
played like the superior team. I don't think there's no
amount of money, there's no matter odds you could have
given me to take Alabama based on what I've seen
Alabama playing like the last month.
Speaker 2 (24:37):
So there's no way looking at what how Georgia.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
Has played the last month, looking at how Alabama has
played the last month, you'd have been a fool to
take Alabama to be And I get it, man, that's
what we do. And the record, look at what we've
done to Georgia and the last I get all of that.
I get all of that. But normally, when you're doing
this to Georgia, you're playing well. Going into that game,
(25:03):
y'all not playing well and you hadn't played well for
a month. Todd Simpson has not played well for a month.
That running game has been bad all year. Yes, there's
only your defense is only going to be able to
withstand so much, so much. But Gunnar Stockton twenty twenty six,
(25:24):
one hundred and fifty six three touchdown. They ran the
ball forty one times for one hundred and forty one yards.
I mean, it was just it was just a complete demolition.
They sacked Stocktor three times, they pressured him numerous times.
George is gonna have to fight all excuse me, Alabama's
gonna fight, have to fight a running game.
Speaker 2 (25:45):
They got to Ojo.
Speaker 3 (25:47):
Look, hey, hold on, hold it's too it's too late.
Now about finding the running game right now? This lake,
oh next, where you got you got to get you
a back. Jamior Gibbs ain't walking through that room. Jamiir
Gibbs is not walking back. Trent Richardson not walking back
through the room. Mark Ingram is not walking back through
that room. So if you're gonna find one, you're gonna
have to find someone specially you have to. You're gonna
(26:08):
have to. You got you got to go get him.
You gotta take him somewhere else. The type of back
to Alabama nees right now, it's not out there.
Speaker 1 (26:14):
I don't know, I don't I don't know. The guy
that we had come on that that came on with us,
he broke his jaw. He had something loosiers. He's had
some speed. But these other guys, yeah, man, and the
receivers that.
Speaker 3 (26:30):
Hey, our boy, our boy dropped our boy dropped the
good one. Man went right through his arm. Man, Jeremy did,
he did? He dropped it about talking about I'm I'm
talking about Ryan too, right, Ryan dropped the good one
right through. It went right through his hands.
Speaker 2 (26:45):
A little bit, A little bit. I mean, I don't look.
Speaker 1 (26:51):
Five years ago, six years ago, before the n I
l the guys weren't making money. We give him great.
He's a professional. He just have to he just have
to be in college. But he's making money. He's making
three four million dollars. He's making two and a half
to three million dollars a year. There's a level of
expectation that comes along when you get paid.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
Ain't no more. But he young.
Speaker 1 (27:13):
I bet his bank take direct deposit. He ain't too
young to have a checking account. He ain't too wrong
to have a banking account. I get it. I get it,
o Jo, he's eighteen years of age. But you can't
convince me that this something is not either something physically
wrong or emotionally wrong with this young man. It started
towards last year, Ojo. But this precipitous drop, Oh Joe,
(27:35):
I don't even recognize him, and half the time he's
not even on the field Ojo.
Speaker 3 (27:41):
Yeah, yeah, I mean obviously, you know, I don't. I
don't know anybody at Alabama. I don't. And most of
the time I watched him on film, I think about
what he did last year. I watched him in the
highlights before Alabama played the day, and I watched what
he did last year, and every week it was like,
what the hell? And what it reminded me of is
the excitement that Randy More, the excitement that Peter Ward
(28:01):
brought to the game of college football, because it's the
type of player. It gave you that experience like people
had that lived in Atlanta. When Michael Vick's playing, when
he gets when he has the ball in his hands,
and when the ball is in his hands, you don't
know what the hell is gonna happen, something specially gonna happen.
So to have that excitement from him last year and
then this year it looked the way it was, I
don't really understand what that's That's not just a drop
(28:23):
un That's not just a drop and just production. It's
just something is wrong, and I don't think it has
anything to do with football. It has to be something
off the field. It has to be something off the field.
Because last year UNC, there was there was there was
a conversation that to be had whether he was the
best receiver in college football outside of Jeremiah Smith. It
was one and two. It was one and two, and
(28:45):
it was it was. It wasn't even close as far
as anyone else is concerned. I don't know what it is, man,
but that's somebody to tell you that too long. He's
so great, he's so special at such a young age.
That's somebody I would love. I would love to have
some type of impact on. When it comes to playing
the game itself.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
Well, I hope you can get in touch with it
or his people reach out to you.
Speaker 1 (29:07):
I'm surprised, and maybe maybe they have reached out to
someone other than yourself. Obviously no one has reached out
to me. But maybe he does have a mentor or mentors.
Maybe he has someone that he can talk to about
things off or whatever he's going whatever he's going through
in his life at this current time, Ojoe, that I
(29:28):
hope that he gets that resolve.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
But this is not the kid that we saw last year.
Speaker 1 (29:32):
And the thing is is now that we judge these
kids differently because we know they're the top level kids.
The Jeremiah Smith, the the arch Mannings, the Ryan Williams,
these guys.
Speaker 2 (29:44):
We know.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
That it's not just you're just not getting books. You're
not getting just tuition and room and board. Yeah, and
so there's a level of expectation. The more you make,
the more expected of you. That's what any life. We're
not just talking about professional athlete, that's any job, whatever
your job is, the more you make, the more is
expected of you.
Speaker 2 (30:09):
So I'm just surprised.
Speaker 1 (30:12):
Kaitlyn Dmore said the number nine Crimson Times are deserving
of a spot of the college football playoffs, saying that
a conference title game loss shouldn't be punishment if this
game applies to take to and take away from our resume.
Speaker 2 (30:25):
I don't think that's right. I really don't.
Speaker 1 (30:28):
I think the president's been set and I don't know
how you can go into a conference playoff game when
you're the number one seed and did all these things
throughout the year and playing in this game one of
the top teams in the country as well, and how
that can hurt you and keep you out of the
playoffs when again, we've done what we've done all year,
but you look bad over the last month. Coach, you're right.
Speaker 3 (30:53):
I have another question now I hear what coach is
saying and making his argument on why they should be
in there. You shouldn't be pinned lies for playing in
a game this magnitude obviously an extra game, but will
the committee also takes strength to schedule and the consideration
as opposed to everyone else's everyone.
Speaker 1 (31:12):
Georgia twice, they look at look at where uh uh,
look at where Vanderbilt's ranked. They played Oklahoma, they played Tennessee.
Mm hmm, so they played they played powerhouse teams. I
mean the strength of the schedule. You look at the
SEC and what is you know, look at all the teams.
There's a great chance Old Miss is gonna get in.
(31:33):
Oklahoma has a very compelling case to get in. Vanderbilt
Tennessee says, oh what about us? We know Georgia then,
because they won't the SEC championship, could you have four
team from the SEC? Maybe even five? Absolutely? Right, absolutely,
I think you're only getting two in from the Big Ten.
Which is I U in the Ohio State, then you
(31:54):
gotta have tax I don't think anybody's getting in from
the ACC. If I'm not mistaken, I think, uh, Duke
just beat Virginia.
Speaker 2 (32:02):
Ain't no. Eight and five team getting into the college
football playoffs.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
So with that being said, so I think you're gonna
get Texas Tech, Georgia, I you Ohio State, Old Miss Oklahoma. Now,
where where where do we start going? You see all
these other teams gonna have a compelling class. We got
to take some other team that's gonna get in. I
just uh uh, it's just it's just hard. It's just
(32:30):
hard for me to see Alabama and y'all, y'all know
what I think about Alabama.
Speaker 2 (32:34):
But based on what.
Speaker 1 (32:35):
They've done the last month of the season, Nah, they
they they have.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
I don't believe they've earned the right to be in.
Speaker 1 (32:42):
I don't think for me, oh Joe, for me personally,
and chat y'all can disagree with your like. I don't
think they're one of the twelve best teams in the
country right now.
Speaker 2 (32:49):
I don't.
Speaker 3 (32:52):
Don't't think so, No, do you think there's any chance
Miami and know that Dame get in.
Speaker 1 (33:03):
I mean, oh, Texas, A and M they got one loss, right,
I don't know about it. I know, I know, I
know people people love, people love Notre Dame. But I
just uh uh huh yeah, I'm looking. Oh yeah, So
(33:23):
I think Ohio State, Indiana, Georgia, Texas Tech. Then you
got Oregon, Old Miss, Texas, A and M all with
one loss one, two, three, four, five six, seven. Do
you got Texas? Okay, okay, yeah, so that's seven. So
(33:45):
if you take the top seven teams that was ending
the day, I think they're all gonna be in. I
think Ohio State, Indiana, Georgia, Texas Tech, Oregon, Old Miss, Texas,
and M Oklahoma. I think those are no brainers. I
really do. Now, you look at Notre Dame, look at Miami,
you look at Texas, you look at Vanderbilt.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
I just.
Speaker 3 (34:09):
So you don't see any scenario where Alabama gets in.
Speaker 1 (34:12):
Oh I can see them getting in because people say, well,
you know, because they've said the committee has said we're
not gonna hold a conference championship loss against you against Okay,
So A and M didn't play for the conference title.
Neither did the Oregon, neither the Old Miss, neither did
Oklahoma nor the Dame doesn't have one. Miami didn't make there,
(34:33):
Vanderbilt didn't make their, Texas didn't make theirs. So we played,
we lose. You sitting at home watching US play, and
then you jump us. I can see what Kaylen the
Bar is saying. The committee might feel the same way.
Kaitlyn the Bors feeling right. But just my contest, they're
not one of the twelve best teams.
Speaker 2 (34:55):
Damn they're not. Not.
Speaker 1 (34:59):
In my not, not based on what I've seen over
the last month, they're not one of the twelve best teams.
Speaker 3 (35:10):
It's gonna be exciting, It's gonna be exciting, gonna be exciting. Wait, yeah,
I just.
Speaker 2 (35:17):
Like I said, as you look, I think those other teams.
Speaker 1 (35:21):
I think all the teams that are in the top eight,
I think they're going Ohio, State, Indiana, Georgia Tech, Texas Tech, Oregon,
Old Mess, Texas, and m Oklahoma. So that's one, two three,
that's four teams right there from the SEC.
Speaker 2 (35:38):
Right, yeah, all right. We got a very special guest
joining us today.
Speaker 1 (35:45):
He ran for fifty two yards and a touchdown today
and he helped the number three Georgia Bulldogs win the
consecutive second, back to back SEC Championship games.
Speaker 2 (35:57):
Nate Fraser is joining us.
Speaker 1 (35:58):
Nate, how you doing, man, Man, We're doing good man.
Speaker 2 (36:04):
He hold on.
Speaker 1 (36:05):
You just went in the SEC Championship and you in
your room. What's really going on.
Speaker 7 (36:12):
My game room?
Speaker 1 (36:14):
You in the game room paying the camera. Let me
make sure you ain't got something off camera, paying the camera.
Speaker 2 (36:21):
Let me see the room. Let me see the room.
Let me see the room.
Speaker 7 (36:25):
Trying to get let me get right.
Speaker 2 (36:29):
M hm.
Speaker 8 (36:32):
M hmm.
Speaker 7 (36:33):
It's thanks tripping.
Speaker 2 (36:40):
Yeah see, I know he the usher out of the room.
Now with you, I would have to he told him
all to leave.
Speaker 7 (36:52):
He gave me an error on myself.
Speaker 2 (36:54):
You can't be you can't be slicked to a can
or you you you think you slip, you think hey,
now it's an era. It's an arrow on my part.
I hear right, you hear about your about She does
say that. Yeah, yeah, back on nightcap.
Speaker 1 (37:18):
But uh, Nate had an unbelievable game that he had
thirteen carries fifty two yards. He had that touchdown on
the counter that really, for all intensive purposes, I thought
the game was over. The game was over at fourteen
nothing considering that Alabama's offense. If we were all good,
I mean that we would just give you a hard time.
We know what's really going on. I mean, I mean
(37:40):
contrary what you think.
Speaker 2 (37:42):
Man. You know, hey, you know you know in late fifties,
but I did go to college. Day, I went to college.
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 7 (37:52):
About hit tonight, man, last thing I'm doing that. This
is putting my head to come.
Speaker 3 (37:59):
WHOA?
Speaker 2 (37:59):
How long? Hold on?
Speaker 3 (38:00):
Y'all just want today? Y'all know, y'all just win. Y'all dominated,
y'all dominated the day. And you you're going to bed,
go to church more.
Speaker 7 (38:08):
You go to church.
Speaker 2 (38:11):
A little Oh man, that's awesome. That's what I'm okay, okay, hey,
but he listen.
Speaker 1 (38:17):
I like that.
Speaker 2 (38:17):
Boy.
Speaker 3 (38:17):
You got your head on right where you hear me?
Speaker 2 (38:19):
You got your head all right?
Speaker 3 (38:20):
Listen today's game. What did that feel like for y'all
to be able to dominate in all three phases of
the game, especially offensively?
Speaker 2 (38:27):
How did that?
Speaker 3 (38:28):
How did that feel?
Speaker 7 (38:29):
It felt? Crazy?
Speaker 1 (38:30):
Man?
Speaker 8 (38:30):
It felt like everything worked hard for it, you know,
just paid off. It felt it was a great win.
I'm so proud of my boys. I'm so proud of
my brothers. Man, it felt great, Chaps. That's just something
that you don't do. That's that's hard to do, man.
So that felt great, y'all. I'm so proud of my guys.
Speaker 1 (38:46):
But you know, coming in, look, if you had heard
the store the last six or seven times Georgia, Alabama
had beaten Georgia, they beat you guys earlier this year
between the hedges, So obviously this was a matchup that
you wanted. You felt like, you know what, we let
one slip away, but we get an opportunity to redeem
myself and show that we're one of the best teams
in the country. We're very deserving of going to the
(39:08):
college football playoffs. And with that performance that you got today,
I know Kirby probably told you you guys are probably
gonna earn a buyer.
Speaker 2 (39:13):
You're gonna probably earn one of those four buys.
Speaker 4 (39:21):
Boy, I know you got a week where you all
gotta do a Buddy Tuesday about fifteen period y'all practices.
Speaker 7 (39:29):
That that's gonna feel good for about a couple of
days up a little yeah.
Speaker 3 (39:35):
Yeah, most definitely that that that'd be good for y'all
to because being able to have that buy allowing players
to know to heal up, allow some other players that
that may be injured, allowing them to get back and
get back into good grestances of health so they could
be at their maximum potential when it's when it's time
to play again. It could be a great thing when
you when you look forward to the college player playoff,
(39:55):
when you look forward to the college playoffs, is there
is there a specific team that you really you want
to see or you really don't matter whoever's in the way.
We got to step on them in the way, man.
Speaker 7 (40:05):
Because every team that's in the college football playoffs is
a great team. That's gonna be a job.
Speaker 5 (40:09):
You got to take your business. You know, look at
no team any differently, Bo. We just got to make
sure that the next day, in the next game a
game plan for the team that we figured out we're
gonna play. Because no team just in the college playoff
for no reason. Right, every team that's in that college
football playoffs got fighting like us. So we just gotta
be prepared and ready.
Speaker 2 (40:28):
When I look at you guys, knowing what you have
on both sides of the football.
Speaker 1 (40:32):
Probably the way you guys practice the game is probably
easier than some of you guys is practiced, knowing what
you have, the bour and five stars that you got
on office, the bour and five stars that you got
on defense. And Kirby is old school. Kirby got y'all
guys stunned up during the week. It ain't no no
shoorce and.
Speaker 2 (40:50):
Walk throughs and all that. Kirby a y'all putting the
herbs and pad on pad.
Speaker 7 (40:57):
Two days the game, Dad. Now, Georgia is hard to.
Speaker 4 (41:10):
Have to go through no breeze through college and walk
through on Mondays and thirty right, old George, it's hard
if you want to be a great player.
Speaker 7 (41:19):
And life is not easy. So life lesson Georgia. Teacher
that life is going to be hard, So they're gonna
have to go through some hard Yeah, that's dope.
Speaker 1 (41:27):
You know, to play hard, you gotta practice hard. And
I think a lot of teams have gotten away from that.
I mean, I know in the NFL, O Joe, they
definitely do practice like we used to practice. Cut his
teeth onder coach Saban. Coach Saban is oh oh, coach
Saban go way way back. So that's the only way.
That's the only way, and that's why you guys constantly
(41:48):
put out three and four and five guys in the
first round. Have ten guys get drafted every single year
because this is what you do. We iron sharpens irons.
We got some of the best offensive players, some of
the best defensive players, and we put them to the
test every single day, every single week. So when we
get in the game, Oh, man, y'all about to get
(42:08):
Molly walk.
Speaker 7 (42:09):
Yeah, yes, I got a curse for y'all because y'all legends.
Speaker 4 (42:15):
Man, I wonder what y'all mean by practice, y'all, y'all
give me a story what y'all go through, y'all practice
is like, because.
Speaker 3 (42:20):
Y'all y'all, yeah, see you you you got you gotta understand.
I'm gonna take this first before'm gonna let you go.
You gotta understand when we play, young young bull. When
we play, we had two days and our practice was,
you know, two hours, two hours and thirty minutes. And
we had we had two full, full, full padded practices
you know out there. You know, in the morning, the
(42:41):
first practice six am, you go out there, you got lunch,
you go take your nap, and then you got the
second practice in the afternoon. Now, this is training camp.
This is training camp. So we had two days when
the season started. Well, you and you and pads Wednesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Yes,
we we have certain we have certain periods whereas all
it's all out full contact. Fridays is fast Friday, you
(43:03):
got your helmet on and you got your shells, you
got your shorts. Saturdays, walk through game on Sunday. You
repeat the same cycle the rest of the season.
Speaker 7 (43:12):
What that god?
Speaker 2 (43:12):
I was yeahy in college.
Speaker 1 (43:17):
See when I was in college, we had all old
coach Davis. Now they ain't got this.
Speaker 2 (43:22):
Little protocol and rules and regulations like y'all got.
Speaker 5 (43:25):
Now.
Speaker 1 (43:26):
It was three hours and then Savannah it was hot.
Now when I got to the NFL, we thirded up.
It ain't no, ay, just wrap him up.
Speaker 2 (43:35):
No.
Speaker 1 (43:35):
Nine on seven were putting people on the ground in
team dream. Ay we need driving you in the ground.
But you're gonna hear some pans bopping. Training camp was,
oh you're saying it was two days. We once had
a practice in uh I think that was ninety four.
We had eight straight days of two of days. Each
practice was two and a half hours long and were
(43:56):
putting people on the ground. Gold line nine on seven.
See now, they got walkthroughs and you have one of
your practices of meeting meeting were you meeting to see hey,
we tried to lay your ass out.
Speaker 2 (44:08):
That was the meeting that we would have it. It
wasn't no meeting about what we're gonna do. That's what
it was. But you guys now, But.
Speaker 1 (44:13):
Kirby, that's why you guys are so ready to play.
You have to prepare your body to take that kind
of punishment in the game.
Speaker 2 (44:21):
You cannot. You cannot ask your body to do something
it has not done. You guys hit.
Speaker 1 (44:29):
In the game because you hit during the week and
your body is conditioned to take that kind of That's
why Georgia constantly have ten eleven guys.
Speaker 2 (44:38):
Go to the NFL every single year.
Speaker 1 (44:41):
This is why those guys play at an elite level
every single year because their bodies are used to that.
And you got great coaching. You got one of the
great college coaches of this generation. And you the best
against the best, and that's what you have to So
you guys are a great system. You made the right choice.
I don't know what made you pick Georgia. Are you
(45:01):
from Georgia?
Speaker 7 (45:03):
No, sir, from Common, California.
Speaker 2 (45:05):
How you get well Compton? What?
Speaker 5 (45:09):
What?
Speaker 7 (45:09):
What?
Speaker 6 (45:09):
What area?
Speaker 2 (45:10):
You grew up in Compton?
Speaker 7 (45:11):
You know the Martin Luther King Hospital?
Speaker 3 (45:13):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, I grew up.
Speaker 6 (45:17):
In the Jordan Downs too, the like trying to watch
all my people's West Night Air like I grew up
in l a baby.
Speaker 3 (45:21):
Period like that George Down Man. You know listen, you know,
you know with the Santa Monica Junior Junior College.
Speaker 2 (45:27):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I say.
Speaker 3 (45:29):
I stayed across the street I had, I had a
little girl back in the day. Man, I stayed at
across the street from Dorsey, the third building off Colisee.
Speaker 2 (45:38):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
Speaker 1 (45:40):
What what makes what made? What made you picked Georgie?
You got U C l A, You got U s C. Man,
you got one hundred colleges in between California and Georgia.
Speaker 6 (45:49):
You know how you just explaining all this stuff about Georgia.
Georgia is different than Georgia get ten and twelve players drafted.
That's one of the main reasons I told Georgia, because
Georgia is different to be successful, and you got to
be different, My god, you gotta be different. You gotta
be doing something different than others to be successful life,
to be on top of somebody. So what the reason
why I told George is when I stepped on cameras,
I just got a feeling. I gotta feel in the
(46:11):
hours at home, I gotta feeling out the people that
are around me, was gonna try to take care of me,
to get some my furthest potential.
Speaker 7 (46:17):
So that's one of the main reasons I told George
George is a great place to be at and.
Speaker 2 (46:20):
I love it. I love it.
Speaker 1 (46:22):
You said something very important. You say, you gotta if
you want to be different, you gotta you gotta do different.
And I just want to tell kids, uh Nate, when
I used to talk to kids, I say, in order
to be great, you must do what others can't or won't.
Sometimes you have to do both of them. You gotta
do what they can't do and what they won't do.
Because a lot of times people talk about being successful,
(46:42):
and I say, let me ask you a question. People
always always write down your goal. I bet you wrote
down when you got to Georgia and this season you had,
you wrote down ten things what you wanted to accomplish.
Speaker 2 (46:55):
But then on the right side.
Speaker 1 (46:56):
Did you write down ten things you're willing to sacrifice
to make sure you get through those ten things that
you did? See, that's what you have to do. See
you write down you But will you write down what
you're willing to sacrifice in order to.
Speaker 2 (47:09):
Get those goals?
Speaker 1 (47:11):
That's when you take it, because that nothing great can
ever be achieved without sacrifice. The greater the goal, the
greater the sacrifice must be to reach that goal. You
understand what comes along with playing it. In football, you
want to go to the National Football League, there's gonna
be some times you're gonna have to deny family.
Speaker 2 (47:28):
I can't come to this, I can't do that.
Speaker 1 (47:31):
I've gotta study, I've got to practice. I gotta be
x Y and Z. And you can't feel bad, man,
I feel bad. I can't man, I can't go to
my mobs, I can't go to mind.
Speaker 2 (47:40):
I can't do this. I can't. Okay, how great do
you want to be?
Speaker 7 (47:45):
Yeah? Sacrifice?
Speaker 1 (47:48):
Sure, man, it's man. I just love having the young kids.
And I see I see the hunger in your eye.
I see that you want to be great. I give
you a hard time, but like man, you ed that.
But I was the exact same. I went to one
party in four years at Savannah State because partying wasn't
gonna get me to the NFL. I knew it wasn't
all that didn't and I didn't begrudge anybody that was
(48:10):
going to party. My grandmother sent me to college for
two reasons, nate to get a degree and go play
in the NFL. Now I knew they were gonna happen.
I didn't know which one was gonna happen. I got
my degree because it wasn't good enough for me to
go to Savannah State or ten Savannah State. I graduated
from Savannah State, but I was going to that next level.
And so you have the right mindset. I love the
(48:30):
fact that you said, man, I gotta get up and go.
I gotta go to church because there's somebody that's a
high power that blessed me to be in this position
and keep me safe when I'm in these ball games,
because I understand one hit could be the end of it.
Speaker 2 (48:44):
So I got to give somebody that credit.
Speaker 1 (48:46):
I got to give somebody that glory and say thank
you not only for keeping me safe, but for allowing
me to wake up this morning. Because a lot of
people had an appointment Nate, they couldn't reschedule.
Speaker 2 (48:59):
Go ahead on't your hey listen.
Speaker 3 (49:01):
I understand obviously you you're very disciplined. You're very structured
in the way you carry yourself, understanding that that you know,
God is a reason for for all your success and
will be the reason for all your success long beyond
college football. But for fun, how do you how do
you how do you get a mental reset and do
things you like to do to get you away from
the game. You know, uh, you you got to have
(49:23):
something because you got to be able to fall back on.
For me, that's my fallback on is video game and gaming. Gaming,
gaming is my fallback on. I'm talking about literally.
Speaker 7 (49:34):
I don't even go a lot to you o gee.
Speaker 4 (49:36):
I feel like sometimes I go fish and I do
like now I'm a Georgia, I do like outdoor things
like I do deer hunting, I do fishing and stuff
like that. You know, it's just like to get a
connection with nature. It's peaceful, it's quiet, you know. It
teaches me pacers and stuff like that. Sometimes I play
my game, but really one of the main things I
just do, I just vibe and listen to music.
Speaker 7 (49:55):
You know, like you like late night, just cool, just
listen to music, the dropping.
Speaker 3 (50:03):
Right right right, just chilling job.
Speaker 8 (50:07):
Just like I don't really like being around with all
the karate and a loud noise and stuff.
Speaker 7 (50:12):
I just like to chill and just relaxed. Man. Okay, okay,
that is out the week physically.
Speaker 1 (50:17):
You know sometimes what what type of what, what you
fish for? What you're going fishing for? So you catching
anything to bite?
Speaker 2 (50:29):
Catfish, large mounth, small mouth.
Speaker 1 (50:31):
Perch, blue gill, guardfish, croak, croaker, whitey, don't battle shad.
Speaker 2 (50:40):
Mama. You say you like you like to hunt.
Speaker 7 (50:48):
I'm starting to like it. I just don't like this
after process.
Speaker 1 (50:52):
Oh you don't like you? Okay, you don't like the dress.
You don't like the dresses where you Okay? What you
what you're going hunt for?
Speaker 2 (50:57):
You hunt for deer? You hunt for? What do you
hunting for? Have you killed one? Have you have you
taken one that I won?
Speaker 7 (51:03):
I got your dog. I gotta give you.
Speaker 2 (51:07):
Kill. I understand there that you can't. You can't kill
the doors. You ought to be ashamed.
Speaker 7 (51:13):
Yah, it was it was a decent size one. I
gotta give you a bun.
Speaker 1 (51:19):
Hey, I thought you got. I thought you might have
got a spike or yearling buck or something like that.
You killed the dough man. You man, I can't believe you.
Speaker 2 (51:29):
Yeah, I got.
Speaker 3 (51:31):
I gotta show. I gotta show. This foot is Nate.
I killed me a buck, right listen.
Speaker 4 (51:38):
I was.
Speaker 3 (51:38):
I was sitting in the tree. I was sitting in
the tree, and he didn't even relied realized he was
right up under me. You know, I was real quiet.
So instead of using the arrow, and I had a
shotgun on my back, so I had to I had
the bow and arrow too. I was like rainbow boy
instead of using instead of using a shotgun on my arrow,
I jumped on his back from the tree.
Speaker 2 (51:59):
I jumped off the perch and I was around the neck.
Speaker 3 (52:00):
I had him around the neck and I put him
in like like an Afford Nelson.
Speaker 2 (52:04):
Okay told me, now, if you're.
Speaker 7 (52:07):
Doing all that, they probably might need to put you
back on the field.
Speaker 3 (52:10):
No, no, no, no, because I heard somebody on the field.
Speaker 4 (52:13):
Bro.
Speaker 1 (52:16):
Yeah, but that's unbelieve it, man, Nay. Congratulations on the
big wear today, Congratulations on your season thus far, and
now you know it's not over now because your ultimate
goal you know you wanted to win an SEC championship.
Speaker 2 (52:29):
You want to get into college football playoff. Now you're
there two or three.
Speaker 1 (52:32):
Now you want to finish your thing off and when
you get to the next level, that's the start of
the journey. It's not the end, it's the start. You
start the process all over again. So congratulations on this year.
Stay healthy, man, and we look for we gonna watch
you down the road.
Speaker 2 (52:48):
Man. You turn me into a Georgia fan. Man.
Speaker 1 (52:50):
You make me proud man having a conversation with you today.
I'm extremely happy for you. I'm extremely proud of you,
and I wish you all the best moving forward.
Speaker 5 (52:59):
I appreciate its blessed Thank you, bro, all the best.
Speaker 1 (53:03):
Love good look May Fraser to Georgia running back thirteen carries,
fifty two yards and a touchdown today and a twenty
eight seven win over Alabama and the SEC championship Texas
Tech all in best just played off after the offseason.
The big spinning for the number four Red Raiders secured
the first Big twelve championship in program history with a
resounding thirty four to seven win over the number eleven
(53:26):
BYU Cougar. Texas Tech assembled what can now be called
one of the greatest transfer portal classes up in the
evolving era of the nil and transferred.
Speaker 2 (53:37):
In college football.
Speaker 1 (53:38):
A group of twenty two incoming transfer that lead yielded
eleven players who started in the Big Twelve title game
and for first team all Big Twelve performers. Texas Tech
has built believe to be the best defensive line in
college David Bailey, Romelo height bringing NonStop pressure, Lee Hunter,
(53:58):
Skyligill and AJ Holmes junior wreaking have outside five hand
picked players out of the portals who could transfer not
just their front but their entire defense. I love what
I love what the Rodriguez says. Hey, if we got
the best team money could buy, why not do the
right why not go in in this thing off the
(54:19):
right way?
Speaker 3 (54:20):
Yeah, definitely, most definitely. But honestly, you know, this Big
Twelve Championship, it almost looked it was.
Speaker 2 (54:26):
It was one sided.
Speaker 3 (54:27):
It was one way street, similar similar to the Georgia
Alabama game. It was almost as if at b Yu
didn't belong there, even though they did they earned their
right to be in the Big Twelve Championship. But Texas
Tech shows that there's levels They showed that there's levels
of levels of the game. Is they showed that it's
levels to college football and being in that Big Twelve
Championship and showed why they actually made it there. I mean,
(54:51):
there's not much to talk about, you know, for for
for b YU, but for Texas Tech. Listen, it was
a dominating performance. It was a it was a dominating,
dominating performan across the God damn boyd.
Speaker 1 (55:01):
When you pay big money for something, don't you expect
to get what you pay for? How many times have
we seen how many times have we seen it? Oh Joe,
somebody our team spend big money and they don't get
what they paid for. Or you spend big money on
something and it wasn't what you thought it would be.
With Texas Tech spend fifteen to twenty million dollars. This
is what I expect. I expected be in the Big tent,
(55:23):
the Big twelve Championship. I expect to win the Big
tench Big twelve Championship, and I expect to get to
the College Football Playoffs and then you know what, Let
whatever happens happens. But this is what the expectation at
the beginning of the season. This is why we spent
that money. That's why we go and get all these
guys out of the transfer portal. This is why we
look started. We got of the twenty two guys we
brought in, eleven of them became starters. Forum became first team,
(55:46):
first Team All Big twelve. They're gonna have some all
Americans that Jacob Rodriguez, he's gonna win a lot of awards.
Speaker 2 (55:52):
He's gonna win the Buckets. He's gonna probably win in
the GIRs Ky.
Speaker 1 (55:54):
He's gonna probably win all a lot of the wars
that goes to the best defensive player.
Speaker 2 (56:00):
He gonna win it. He's gonna win it, and he
learned it. He a hell of a player.
Speaker 3 (56:07):
He's nice, he's nice.
Speaker 1 (56:11):
He won the buckets. Yeah, yeah, because I guess the war.
So when is the uh the esp of Awards show,
the Home Deepot Award Show. That is that Monday, and
then nothing the next Monday. No, it comes on the night,
knowing that comes on during the week. But he's he
a phenomenal player. He's a phenomenal player.
Speaker 4 (56:33):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (56:33):
He had thirteen tackles today Old show attackle for loss. Uh.
They had eight tackle for losses, two sacks, relentless pressure. Uh.
Speaker 1 (56:48):
All them are the wars Friday. Yeah, so the War
Show is next Friday. Okay, the twelve okay, and the
Heisman is the thirteenth.
Speaker 2 (57:03):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (57:04):
Hey, the fight was a draw, was it?
Speaker 2 (57:10):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (57:11):
It just ended. It just ended in a draw.
Speaker 2 (57:13):
Oh man, you think it would deserve to be a draw, Yes, sir?
Speaker 3 (57:24):
A pit bull pitt bull is a problem, especially if
you're not if you're not able to not only withstand
that pressure, to be able to count off it every
time you need me, because it make it look it
makes him look like he's winning the fight because he's
so goddamn active coming forward.
Speaker 2 (57:40):
That's all.
Speaker 1 (57:41):
But yeah, and in the fight like that, you got
to be able to fight off your back foot, and
very few people can fight off that. Everybody likes to
come forward. They like to dictate the fight. That was
the one thing about Floyd. Floyd can fight either how
you want to fight, come forward. And every time you
throw them and hit you side your damn head. Every
time I'm gonna catch you with somebody. Man, you know,
he bo hey, he'll body shot, body shot, and then
(58:02):
he'll come a check hook.
Speaker 2 (58:04):
You throw something, he throws something right back. Over the top.
He was, Hey man, he was, but uh yeah, but this, uh,
we're gonna get to the fight.
Speaker 1 (58:15):
But Texas Tech, there's advertised watching them today, there's advertised.
Speaker 2 (58:20):
There's good as advertising.
Speaker 1 (58:22):
Sometimes, you know, Joe, you looking like, man, I wonder
what this because it's really my first you know, you
see it a little here and there, you watch a
little bit of it. But today I got an opportunity
to sit down to really watch them, watch his advertised.
They are the They're the real deal. They're a real deal.
That defense is legit. Uh, they put so much pressure
on you to put yours under the rest. Offensively, they
(58:44):
ran forty one times fo one hundred and fifty fifty
nine yards. The quarterback was twenty and thirty three two fifteen,
two touchdowns, no interceptions. They legit. They legit. Yeah, I mean,
I don't know what they're gonna they're gonna get. They're
probably gonna get one of those buyes offso o yo.
(59:05):
I think Indiana is definitely gonna buy Georgia getta buy
Texas Tech to gett buy. I think Ohio State is
gonna get the other by. I think Ohio stated again
the other by Texas texts gonna get a buy, Indiana's
gonna be the number one overall seed.
Speaker 2 (59:20):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (59:22):
I wouldn't honestly, I wouldn't want no buy.
Speaker 2 (59:25):
You ain't got no choice, O yo. I know, I
know what you mean.
Speaker 8 (59:28):
I know I know that.
Speaker 3 (59:29):
I know they don't have a choice. I just the momentum,
the momentum, I don't.
Speaker 2 (59:32):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (59:34):
You.
Speaker 2 (59:34):
I mean everybody has a buy because you have to
think about it.
Speaker 1 (59:36):
The season is over now, they're not gonna play winning
winning the first game like the end of December.
Speaker 2 (59:42):
Mm hmmm, the first game probably not for another two weeks. Yeah,
