Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now you know, and No de Barrosso is a production
of iHeartMedia and partnership with Recent Choice Media. Well, folks,
since I have last seen you, we've jumped into a
midterm year. I've been out of the studio. I've been
busy prepping for the twenty twenty six midterms, running LA
and in the meantime being cringe. I'm not sure if
(00:22):
you saw the New York Post about two weeks ago.
The headline reads, Eric Swalwell readiculed for cringe TikTok with
fourteen year old influencer. Let's stick into this, shall we.
The New York Post, which was a once credible news organization,
is now slamming tiktoks. Let's dive into it. With less
than two weeks left in twenty twenty five, the East
(00:44):
Bay Congressman and candidate for California governor has missed more,
has missed more votes than any active US House of Representative.
Let me be clear, this is the kind of misinformation
they spread. They framed it right, he missed a few
vot votes. Right, he's running a candidacy. I want to
inform you that Eric Swalwell is back in DC taking
(01:06):
up the most important votes. The first sentence of this
headline reads, seems to have taken the crown for the
most awkward social media clip of the year. So let
me be clear. This credible news organization, so journalistic, by
the way, says my TikTok, seems to have taken the
(01:27):
crown for the most awkward social media clip of the year,
not one of not second. They said it's the most
awkward social media clip of the year. Now, if New
York Posts still abided by their journalistic principles, I'd post
that somewhere, I'd add that to my bio. But that
is not something that is relevant anymore New York Posts particularly,
(01:48):
And what made me happy is throughout this whole cringe thing,
Charlemagne the God posted on his Instagram story let them talk,
keep talking, keep making them talk, which I really appreciate,
Very thankful for Charlemagne the God. It's this representative Eric
Swalwell putting his own spin on the bees in the
trap meme, and social media influencer Noa de Barasso posted
(02:11):
a video that has been blasted into the oblivion. As
part of the meme, Arik Swalwell lip syncs the opening
hook to fort non Blogs classic non blonde classic song
What's Up while standing back to back with the fourteen
year old, who then takes over halfway. Takes over halfway
through the clip by lip singing the rap by Nicki
(02:32):
Minaj and her song Bees in the Trap, minus a
couple profanity, minus a couple profanities that were likely removed
because Swalwell's co star is a child. Let me be clear,
that was both of our ideas. I know what the
media does. The reaction on social media was swift and damning.
(02:52):
As as as of publication of the story, the post
had more than seventeen hundred comments on X. Yeah. On X,
let me be clear, instead of demanding the release of
the Epstein files, the Republican Party is busy commenting on
my social media videos. Oh dear, that was so bad,
(03:15):
one commenter wrote on X with cringe and scared right.
Another wrote this is so embarrassing with a laughing and
crying emoji. On TikTok, the reviews were just as damning.
Seems like this journalist really likes the word damming. Huh
why would California vote for this person? And as I
scroll down, I see a picture of me SWAWEO has
(03:39):
a history of making embarrassing social media videos, from lifting
weights at the gym and posting another video of him
bobbing in a swimming pool as he blamed the recent
government shut down on Republicans. The attempt to capitalize on
the popularity of Noah de Barasso, who went viral as
a twelve year old in twenty twenty four at the
Democratic National Casvention, seems to be Swalwell's latest hit and miss.
(04:03):
Let me be clear, folks, you have a once journalistic entity.
D look. Let's look into New York Post's history. This
is a once great organization that is now making headlines
about TikTok videos. Folks, I did a TikTok with Eric Swalwell,
(04:25):
not expecting The New York Post to do something like this.
At the very end, it says the attempt to capitalize
on the popularity of Noaday Barrasso. This is not an attempt, folks.
We fundraised great amounts of money for Congressman Swalwell, and
he will be the next governor of California. That opens
up to me, I want to speak about the twenty
(04:46):
twenty four governor's race in California. So we have Democrats, Republicans,
and a Green Party candidate that ran alongside Jill Stein.
Interesting enough, we have everyone from Katie Porter, twenty twenty
presidential candidate Tom Steyer, who is a billionaire, Eric Swalwell,
Antonio Viaregosa, Xavier Bagarra, and many other minor candidates. Let
(05:12):
me explain here. So two weeks ago, I went to
Beverly Hills and I made a TikTok with Eric Swalwell
that served as my endorsement. When I go back this month,
I will also be hosting a campaign event with the
congressman in San Diego. My work for these candidates don't
stop at TikTok videos. So what the New York Post
tried to do was make it seem like he we
(05:34):
just did a TikTok video and we were just we
were just hanging. But no folks goes into this, And
unlike the New York Posts, I am actively busy calling
on our politicians to do real work like releasing Epstein
files and working to fight Trump in events like ice
raids in the state of California, which Eric Swalwell is
constantly focused on. Candidates like Xavier Pakara are not good
(05:58):
because For example, Xavier Bakara is widely disliked for his
time at the US Secretary of Health. Another thing that
he has faced controversy over was his handling of gangs.
Katie Porter allegedly threw hot mashed potatoes at her husband.
I'm not backing that. That could be misinformation. I don't know.
I encourage you to do your research on that. Katie
(06:18):
Porter I met at the airport, extremely kind person. Am
I sure that she is ready to lead in this moment?
I don't know if she would like to come on
the Midterm Series and talk about it. That is on her.
But you know who did join us on the Midterm
Series while I was in Beverly Hills was Eric Swalwell,
who spoke everything affordability, entertainment, stuff like that. So I'm
here with Eric Swalwell Olcoma, California. Oh. I appreciate Eric swow.
(06:41):
I'm so excited. What is your plan to make people
want to move here?
Speaker 2 (06:46):
So I want the state to be open for business,
so small businesses. We need more of the highest unemployment
in the country. I want everyone working. I want to
have the best education for our kids. Where we rank
two close to the bottoms means teachers need the resources
to prep our kids for the new economy. I want
homes to be affordable. Yeah, so in California that means
it would take you twenty six years.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
Homes is forty in California.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
And I think you should be a state where you
can take your first job, have your first kid, can
buy your first home in the same decade, and not
wait so long. So that's what I'm doing.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
Eric Slawa, Look, I am so excited about being in
California because you got places like San Francisco, Danna Point,
and then Orange County and Los Angeles and Beverly is
about all in the same states. How do you press
cross throughout the state? Throughout the campaign trail, my.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
Goal is to listen, to learn to act. I don't
know everything. I don't know every issue that California is
no things. I'm learning and by listening, you learn. When
you learn, if you do it right, you act in
a way that lifts up people's lives. So I'm going anywhere.
I'm going to coffee shops, restaurants, truck stops, anywhere people.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
Want to And Eric Slawa, I love California. I look
for any SKUs to be here. So can I join
you on the campaign? Yes? I'm like, oh my god, God,
but I have to ask you, Yes, what do.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Young people want?
Speaker 1 (08:03):
YEA and their leaders in California? Yeah, what can you
do to best speak to you? So in California, I'm
taking pictures of people here in California. And one thing
I asked them, because I knew we were doing this,
is that what's wrong with California? And they were like,
where do I start? They love the state, but there's
a lot we have to address affordability. They're looking to
(08:24):
buy houses here. They love this state, and they say
where do I start? In a good way, which is
they want to improve this state and they don't want
to move sometimes they want to live here, and so
I think affordability is their biggest issue. Secondly, is that schooling.
You know, it's either for them, it's either the dream
of school choice or making sure that they have a
good public school. So they don't even have to do that,
(08:44):
So they have to think about that. And then so
what is your plans to address their issue of affordability?
Speaker 2 (08:49):
So we need to increase the supply of housing. There's
more supply, cost comes down more people, especially like working
California's teachers, firefighters, police officers, nurses. Those are the people
that are like the foundation of our community. They can't
afford to live here or they commute like hours. I
want to change that by increasing the supply of housing.
I want to give down payment assistance to those first
(09:11):
responders and also veterans, so that again the foundation that
people we hold up the highest have the best access
such quality housing.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
Now, how do we make sure that I'm forgetting everyone else?
Speaker 2 (09:21):
My goal is that you and your mom are going
to move to go. That's the goal that bad people here.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
Absolutely, because I do want to move here. With your
vision and your leadership, how do we keep the entertainment hub.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
We're going to write the comeback story for Yeah, how
y'all doing, and write the comeback story for TV and
film and content in calcat Yes, I'm blaming you, Okay,
if you're doing it right though, you're poaching.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
That's what I'm trying that Georgia, North Carolina, that's what
I'm looking for, even though I live there right now.
I'm looking to bring because I want to make sure
California stays the entertainment hub. Here's what we do. Let's
see still.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
When TV and film go outside California, it doesn't affect
the first twenty people whose names you see on the credits,
affects the last two hundred. That's the crew, right, that's
your IAZZI members, the people who work hard in our
local So what I want to do is I want
to have a tax credit that benefits the whole state.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
Are you just announcing this, yes, let's hear it. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
So it's going to be an above the line tax credit.
But make sure that you take care of the people,
as I said, the last two hundred people on the
credit roll. And also, this not just for Los Angeles.
It's going to be for all over the state. And
I think you can proportionally make sure that everywhere in
the state can compete for that. We don't want to
be the last place to people go. We want to
be the easiest place to fille absolutely and write that comebackstory.
Speaker 1 (10:37):
I have a question. Yeah, so we are. Now this
isn't something you can directly address, but TikTok, this is
for you. People are tired of seeing Cappertino on their
weather app What is this Cappertino thing?
Speaker 2 (10:48):
Though, Cappuccino Cappertino, Cooper, Tino, Coopertino, Cooper, It's cup It's
pronounced like coop.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
Okay, so that's what WHI I see it. What are
you gonna do to address that?
Speaker 2 (11:03):
I'm gonna keep it there and make it bigger.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
We're gonna expand it. So so far, we just got
to make sure you're running a great campaign. And what
I do when I support campaigns is that I want
to make sure that they're staying in touch with influencers
and making sure that they're staying and doing these TikTok videos.
And you're doing such a great job. So instead of
any direct advice, I would say, keep going, keep doing this.
I talk to you, okay, So we need to get
(11:26):
you a streamer. I have a few names in mind. Yes,
we're gonna reach out. So then we're going to create
the group chats. So we're gonna make sure that you
stay on TikTok because no other campaign in this race
is doing tiktof like you are, and it is just
amazing you are running a campaign that is so far
I'd say perfect. Okay, I'm so excited. We're striving, we're
moving up. So when is the primary Eric Swall.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
So after the first of the year. This is what's crazy.
That's gonna blow your mind. There's only sixteen weeks until
the first ballots are mailed out, so this thing's coming fast.
It's a big state, and so I'm getting all over
the state. They said, we're not gonna We're not gonna
have the most money in this campaign. There are some
deep pockets special interests. They're spending a lot of money.
That's okay, that's okay, they can do that. We're gona
(12:07):
have the best ideas and we're gonna be the most
connected to.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
California's Yeah, now you know on iHeart. I want to
ask you what differentiates you from all your opponents.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
One, I'm a protector fighter state has seen war declared
against it, Yeah, by a president who's chasing our immigrants
through the fields where they work, who has put troops
in our streets, and has canceled cancer research funding that
gives people hope. I've taken on this guy, but on offense,
I'm going to work with him where I can. But
if he wants to come at immigrants, he's gonna have
to go through me. The only one in the field
(12:36):
who frankly.
Speaker 1 (12:37):
Has a job. Two.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
I have the boldness and vision to see beyond this
president and the experience, particularly as a city council member
and a planning commissioner, to bring on new housing, economic
development and make sure when we say we're the fourth
largest economy in the world, it actually means something. That's
the new California that we're going to write. Yeah, yeah,
if we get it right there, only do it if
I listen to people like you.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
There we go. What's your website? Eric erics dot.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
Com that's one L in the middle here and Eric
