Speaker 1 (00:10):
All right, thank god we're doing this, uh, this episode
of over Promise.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Harp's on, Tarp's on.
Speaker 3 (00:18):
Yeah, but it's a long Memorial Day weekend, so you
never know.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
First and first, mostly thanks.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
To all the troops, the soldiers that fought for our freedoms,
enjoy the weekend. It's Covino and Rich, it's over promised,
it's our bonus pot, and we have lots to get
to today again, the stuff we couldn't fit into our
regular show, Covino and Rich Monday through Friday, five to
seven on the East Fox Sports Radio. We're gonna talk
about who might be Ass? It's a show staple. We'll
(00:46):
get into that. It's a list you don't want to
be on, even though we like ass. Who might be ass? Oh,
you don't want to be on that list.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
What was a take for a guy like Steve Covino
to show his man titties?
Speaker 3 (00:56):
You're right, speaking of tarps off the Tarps Off Rage
of twenty six. We'll dive into that. No one wants
to see these man nipples, trust me. But speaking of
man nipples, we all could picture Alex Rodriguez kissing the
mirror flexen walking around with no shirt on. He's in
the news, and I gotta say, I'm a big fan
(01:17):
of a Rod, so don't take any of this the
wrong way. And I hope he's great because guess what
news alert A Rod singled again.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
You know, other than probably.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
Some bad OnlyFans decisions before all that came into the mix,
that photo shoot with a Rod pretty regrettable.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
Yeah, and all those topless photos that came out. I
remember he's posing on a rock or something.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Weird.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
A Rod was dating Jacqueline how do you say her name?
Candero Cardio Cordeiro from twenty two till now. She's that
fitness instructor got him back in shape, and apparently it's amicable.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
But they're done.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
They're split, so and Jacqueline Cordiro has said he had
no gossip, no drama here. They're done, they're taking time apart,
and they just want to make their daughters a priority.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
They both have kids.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
So it got us thinking a bunch of different things
about a Rod and just a bunch of things about
dating in general. Like my first question is what is
your first what's next for Jacqueline Cordio? Like rich question
number one, it's like a triple doozy of thought here
on over promised.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Would you be able to date someone I'm sorry, I
can't focus well.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
Spot our video guys showing the a rod kissing himself picture.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Oh yeah, that was a classic? Are you good? Keep
it in your pants, broy.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
Would you be able to date someone that dated someone
as high profile as Alex Rodriguez, like or any athlete
or professional athlete for that matter.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
Could you date somebody who.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
Was like, yeah, I used to date Shaquille O'Neill, because
that might be the biggest nightmare of all.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
I mean, I don't know if most can.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
It takes someone of ultimate confidence and someone that knows
that in their lane they're dominant. Hey, I'm a great businessman,
I'm a confident guy. I'm a good dad, whatever you
think you are. Because there's a lot that goes along
with dating someone that used to be with someone of
high profile, Like anytime you go on vacation, babe, we're
going to the Bahamas and you.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
Know what she's gonna think?
Speaker 1 (03:16):
Yeah, like I went to the Bahamas once on like
a ron's a yacht, or hey, we're going to Hawaii
by private point or helicopter.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
No on Hawaiian airlines.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
Like, I just feel like there's a sense of whatever
you do to impress will never be as much as
that celebrity.
Speaker 3 (03:32):
That is what you're all excited about your Sunday Beer
softball championship.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
Meanwhile, like her ex was in the big league.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
I dated a girl who had dated a big league player,
and I remember I couldn't tell any of my softball stories.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
Yeah, because they're just not as impressive.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
Hey babe, I ripped the double and like, yeah, her
ex boyfriend, you know, played in the pros.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
Like, honestly, no, man, I think, like you already said,
it comes with how much confidence do you you have? Right,
because if it's in the past, it shouldn't matter all
that much. We all have a past. But it also
says that you're in pretty cool company. You're in a
pretty good company. I imagine she's a good looking woman
and she has a certain standard if she's choosing your
subby ass. But you know, I think we fear these
(04:16):
things and we assume it's going to sting, and that's
really all that it is.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
It stings a little bit.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
I mean, even in my current relationship, my girlfriend dated
professional athletes.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
I wouldn't choose that.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
I don't prefer that, but I gotta be honest, Rich,
I don't spend a whole.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
Lot of time thinking about that, and there are people
you might know.
Speaker 3 (04:36):
I don't really think about it all that much. Well,
as Chris Rock said, I'm just I'm happy that I'm
with her now, and that's really it.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Ah. I mean your.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
Twenty seven Little League home runs might mean a little
less when one of her exes made it to the
big show, you.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
Know, Like, yeah, I think it just matters who that
athlete is, because some of them you just can't get
out of your mind. And I already said the number one,
like if they're a big time ladies man, Like if
it's a Derek Jeter, like you date it Derek Jeter
or something, or you dated Shaquille o'need.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
Well, your girlfriend has a type. Her ex is Bartolo Cologne, right, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
Well, yeah, that's why she ended up with me, you know,
same guy, same physique and all. You know, But it
does pose that question would you be able to hand
Are you mad enough to handle the fact that, yeah,
the girl i'm with dated a rod You're the girl
i'm with dated a professional athlete?
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Does it matter? The caliber of athlete doesn't matter who
it is? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (05:26):
Does is it worse if it's a guy on your
team or the opposing team?
Speaker 2 (05:31):
I think caliber player does matter.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
If it's a guy that took a little uh you know,
as I said, had a couple of coffee in the pros,
it's like, good for him, you followed his dream, But
I don't know if you could follow up, you know,
if you're a young man like, oh, my ex dated
Bryce Harper, you know, I don't know, Like that's that's
a big deal to me.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
I think of two stories.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
Bryce Harper such a stud, Yeah, like does and he
makes banana bread and he's like a cool dude, like
oh no, just like yeah, who's her ex?
Speaker 1 (06:00):
And it's honestly like a like a good look a
John Carlo and his ass, Like you.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
Know, wait, you dated John Carlos Stanton?
Speaker 3 (06:09):
Oh man, i're you thinking about that Stantonian blast and
you're having those nightmares, those Lumberg nightmares.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
Stantonian blast he gave her?
Speaker 1 (06:17):
Yeah, do you remember in our show's history, two stories
popped into my head. We had a caller hit us
up once and said they found out their girl had
gotten with Shaquille O'Neal, and they just couldn't carry on.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
I mean, how do you live with that that visual?
Speaker 2 (06:35):
You know what I mean? Why I guse you're just
all you're doing is picturing.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
Well, if shaquillees seven foot, she's dangling from his big Johnson,
that's what you're picturing, right.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
She's dangling from his magic Johnson. Yeah. Yeah, horrible and
nightmares that you don't need to think about. And why
do I feel like there's a Fabio story? There is there?
Speaker 3 (06:52):
There was a guy, a caller called our show one
time and he was like he found out his X
had dated fab or his girlfriend had dated Fabio and
quickly became his ex because he couldn't get past.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
That thought like fab It was just too much for him.
He bang Fabia, huh like that? You know?
Speaker 3 (07:11):
I think you have to laugh it off and you
have to have a level of a certain level of
confidence in yourself. But I do also think it matters
who it is. So a Rod is single and it
got us thinking about something else. Who's the most eligible
bachelor now? Because a Rod not only a superstar, but
he's a big time businessman.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
He's on Shark Tank.
Speaker 3 (07:32):
Is it a Rod or Tom Brady now, and I
got the stats. A Rod is fifty years old with
two daughters, and he's been married once. Tom Brady forty
eight years old. I mean he's the goat too. He
has three kids and married once. So who do you
think is the most eligible dude on the market right now?
(07:54):
I still think it's Tom Brady because he's free. I mean,
have you seen him modeling in his leather pants?
Speaker 1 (07:59):
Until I see it in full leather. I'm gonna go
tom Brady on this one, but I'm still thinking tom Brady.
Speaker 3 (08:04):
But I mean there's a there's a market for an
a Rod out there because he has quite the resume.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
And we're gonna get to that.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
By the way, those photos side by side, that's that's
Jose your two most eligible men.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
Tom Brady points against a Rod against Brady, I should say,
because he's the obvious answer. I think here, he's forty eight,
he has three kids, one of them with you know,
two of them with with one woman, and one with another.
He has two baby mamas, so he has two baby
mamas there.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
And also, hey, disadvantage tom Brady, you will never be
the priority. I feel like a Rod a Rod is
less focused. I mean, then again, he's in all these
business deals and he's owning teams. But I feel like
Tom Brady's so career focused that if you're with Tom Brady,
you just got to accept you're not gonna be priority.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
All right, But ladies, there's two superstars out there ready
for the taking, and A Rod Is is the latest
to join the Listaking to a Rod again being single,
it got us thinking, like got us thinking about his
ass resume, and I know that sounds inappropriate, but you know,
when we think of ass resumes, we often think of
guys like Derek Jeter, but A Rod's is pretty impressive too.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
I mean, interestingly enough. That was like the big story
back in the day. Remember people even made a baseball
diamond of all the women Jeter dated. And again looking back,
it was the two thousands, so it was okay, but no,
it was like, look at all these hotties that got
with Jeets A Rod Cavino. When we were thinking about
there was like, yeah, he was a j Lo And
then I think we were like, it wasn't it with
Cameron Diaz. And when you do a little research, you
(09:38):
know A Rod has dated a heck of a lot
of celebrity women, you know.
Speaker 3 (09:42):
So we'll backtrack again recently with Jacqueline Cordiro, who seemed
to be a great influence on him, got him in shape,
got him trim.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
They had a good run, you know, four plus years.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
They're done now, celebrity fitness instructor Jacqueline Cordiro. Before that
was j Lo Again, as far as prominent people that
we remember, that j Lo era was pretty long. It
was twenty seventeen to twenty twenty one. And before that
he was with Tory Wilson, the WWE Deva.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
I'm not sure I even remember that phase.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
A Rod and Tory Yeah, and then uh I would
say that, yeah, there he is with Tory.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
Good for him, man, good for him.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
And before that, I remember when he did a Cameron
Diaz because that was a pretty good celebrity couple for
a second.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
That was twenty ten, twenty eleven. And by the way,
Cameron Diaz in the mask, oh.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
Bro mask, Oh you know Dayrod knows. Yeah, somebody stop him.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
How about about another blonde hotty from the from the
two thousands, Kate Hudson dude.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
In two thousand and eight, two thousand and nine, era,
Like between two thousand and eight and twenty ten, A
Rod was on a tear Bro was on a tear
so Kate Hudson, of course, but he also dated get this,
Bethany Frankel and Madonna in that time span.
Speaker 1 (11:08):
I'm looking up A Rod's stats. I want to say
who who he was with when he had his most
dominant years.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
MVP. He was an MVP.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
In seven, Well, he was a World Series champion, oh nine,
so that when he was tearing it up, that's the
way he was eight nine.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
A Rod is primo, a Rod on and off the field, right,
I mean.
Speaker 3 (11:31):
Yep, for sure. So hey, we wish him the best.
He's a complex character. If you haven't seen his documentary,
he's worth the watch. And he's a guy that's constantly
improving himself. So wishing all the best to a Rod,
one of the most eligible bachelors out there nowadays.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
By the way, not not to sound inappropriate, not to
shame anyone.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
But do you think Madonna?
Speaker 1 (11:57):
Do you think does anyone other than Donna that has
slept with a combined over one thousand home runs jose Canseco,
Oh yeah, and A Rod? I don't I think Madonna
might be the only person unless unless there's some groupie
or some rando. But Madonna might be the only woman
(12:20):
that has slept with a thousand home runs.
Speaker 3 (12:23):
Think about that Jose Canseco story was wild because she
wanted Jose to have her kids. She wanted his Cubano
specimen DNA. So a rod is single everybody and uh topless.
A rod with his puffy nipples makes us think of
the new rage in twenty twenty six that seemed to
(12:44):
happen overnight is called the tarps off rage of twenty
twenty six.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
I think this is great for baseball. We talked last
year a lot in the twenty twenty five season, like,
you know, Baseball's popping, Baseball's back. I feel like we
were the league leaders in saying the phrase baseball's popping
because ratings were up, attendance was up, Baseball was back
in a big way. We're big baseball guys, and it
was cool to see the young stars just sort of
in the forefront. The Otani's, the judges, the like you said,
(13:10):
the Bryce Harper's, the Bobby Witt juniors like this, Juan Sotos.
Baseball this year is just as big and now fans
are getting more involved.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
You know, maybe they took a page out of the
international vibes of the World Baseball Classic and maybe, you know,
some of that hype carried over because baseball has been popping.
And it started with the members of the Steven F.
Austin State University baseball team in Texas. It was a
Saint Louis Cardinals game, and these dudes were like, let's
take our shirts off and start waving our shirts, and
(13:42):
then of course they took over a whole section and
that led to a.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
Walk off win against the Royals, and all.
Speaker 3 (13:49):
Of a sudden, it felt like overnight, the tarps off
movement fan movement became a thing, because then you saw
the Tigers fans doing it and other fans doing it.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
Just this past night, Yankees fans they started doing it.
Speaker 3 (14:02):
Not as big as what we saw in Saint Louis
and other stadiums, but you know, you're seeing people trying
to bring that international vibe that's sort of fun to
the baseball stadium, which is kind of cool.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
Cave the Cardinals obviously leading this charge, but other teams
in on the movement, the Tampa Bay Rays, the Mariners,
the Phillies. Small groups of shirtless fans have been seeing
Detroit hopping on this. Anaheim Angels have a section that
they've spotted people.
Speaker 3 (14:30):
Doing this, a whole section. Seattle Mariners are on board.
Other cities that you're seeing little glimpses. They're saying, maybe
even the Yankees are on board with this.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
So could this be a worldwide Could this be a
league wide thing where everyone's just taking their shirt off.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
You know, I'm not against it.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
It makes me feel a little insecure about my puffy
Pepperoni Harry nipples.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
You know, I'm gonna be out there like this covering them.
But what would it take for you to do? It?
Speaker 3 (14:57):
Is one question to pose, and just how fast this
became a thing is also It's great a question in itself.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
I'm listen, I'm not the.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
Type of guy that's, you know, going to a stadium
taking my shirt off. I don't think most grown men are.
But I do think this is great for baseball. And
I think what I love is during that walk off
for the Cardinals, while rounding first base, gave a little
how do you do a little wave to the shirtless fans.
I think the players and the teams have to acknowledge this,
(15:27):
you know, how the Mets, and of course I'm going
to bring it back to the Mets, but you now,
the Mets have acknowledged their seven line army. They're like
they all wear orange, and like the organization has acknowledged
this is a grassroots fan group that sort of took
over an outfield place the Yankees bleacher creatures.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
I think if the teams embraced.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
Us, like yeah, dude, tarps off, and even if they
did promotional nights like tarps off five dollars meers or something,
I think this is a way to even grow attendance.
More so, Baseball should latch onto this. To be honest,
you mentioned a baby onto a nipple. You mentioned how
they're being acknowledged getting the wave.
Speaker 3 (16:04):
It's replacing the wave in other stadium sort of traditions.
So it's cool to see and not to It's not
a creepy thought or question. But I feel bad for
the ladies because they're not really involved in the Tom
Soft situation, right What happens when they do. That's another
situation that we haven't seen yet. But I'm wondering where
(16:25):
this goes and how continues to grow and then My
final question based on it is you know what would
it take for you to join the fun or are
you past that? Like, you know, I'm not a face painting,
beer helmet wearing rowdy sort of fan like that, so
I'm not seeing me being the guy doing that, But
(16:46):
I'm not mad at anybody that is either, because that
makes it fun.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
I don't know. I would have to be.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
Four brew ha haas deep to even think about it,
I would imagine, And I would also have to prepare
and trim my I call them Michael stray hairs, and
I have to trim my spider leg nipple hairs before
ever attempting something like this.
Speaker 2 (17:07):
I don't know what would it take for you to
do it, Dicky Davis.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
I think if if you guys, I would just have
to go with people that are equally or in less
shape than I was. Like, I'm not going with like
my ripped friends. But if your buddies that are like
I mean, in moderate shape are like we're doing it, maybe.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
Yeah, there's a little viet there's a weird pressure about.
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (17:26):
I feel like I'm a little past it. You know,
I know you look at me, you think I'm young
and spry. I feel like I'm too. I feel like
Danny Glover when it comes to this.
Speaker 1 (17:35):
You know what it's like WHOA Listen. When I was
in college, I painted my challenge. I painted my chest
with other kids to spell out Syracuse and we ran
around with a Syracuse flag and we're like acting like
little drunk idiots.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
I was twenty. I'm in my forties now. I don't know.
You know, maybe if I had a team, you're a man,
you're forty. I'm a man. I'm forty.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
And by the way, to back up my point when
I said, teams have to really embrace it by just
quickly clicking on a couple social media pages, the Cardinals
putting out statements like want to join the movement? No shirts,
They're they're they're obviously putting sections aside. The Tampa Bay
Rays put on social media just yesterday tarps off raise
(18:19):
up selling tickets for a sections with no shirts. So
fan bases now there's the same. The Seattle Mariners are
putting out social media posts. So when fans are embracing
it and the teams are saying we're into.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
You might as well lean into it. Yeah, it's it's fun.
Speaker 3 (18:36):
It feels very international, and it goes with the whole
movement that Rich brought up before Baseball's pop and they
made all the right changes and now we're seeing it
in the stands.
Speaker 1 (18:47):
You always say, you always say to see you always say,
it always works best if it's organic. And this wasn't
some lame promotion or something. It simply was fans started
doing it on their own. It grew and you know
what fans. Teams are now and they're inviting, aren't they
inviting some of these guys back to the clubhouse too,
and the phone they're acknowledged.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
Hey, Rich, but you didn't answer the question. What would
it take for you?
Speaker 1 (19:12):
Oh man, not much. I'm pretty easily convinced. Well, a
couple of drink, A couple drinks and are losing a bet.
Speaker 3 (19:17):
Probably a couple of drinks and maybe one buddy who
nudges you pretty tough. Or maybe it's your kid who's
like dad, could dad, you know he wants to do it?
Speaker 1 (19:27):
Sounds a little young, But if my son's like dad,
let's do the shirts off thing, I probably would, but
I would have to do some bathroom push ups. Rust
will pump on trim your armpits or something.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
Right, make sure you're prepared for the ballroom.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
Yeah, okay, all right, So it's the uh tarps off
movement rage of twenty twenty six. Fun to see. I'm
not doing I wear glasses now. I'm too old for
this nonsense. But I'm glad that everybody's having the rule.
And I'll never say never.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
Is that the rule? If you're in your forties and
need readers, you're exempting. Yeah, I'll never say never.
Speaker 3 (19:58):
Though, if it which is the team to victory, hey,
I could feel like I'm part of that.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
And now Covino and Rich yes, over promise.
Speaker 3 (20:07):
I'm live in Idaho for the holiday week and live
from Idaho. Everybody else back on the West side. We
do this on over promise. It's called they might be asked,
who might be asked?
Speaker 1 (20:16):
We'll let you know, all right, Well, I'll tell you
who might be ass The American League might take away. Mit,
the American League is ass. I want you to pulp
the standings.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
Now.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
There have been years when the NFC and the AFC
are unbalanced, or the Western Conference in the Eastern Conference
in the NBA.
Speaker 2 (20:34):
But right now the AL is so shitty. How shitty
is it? How shitty is it?
Speaker 1 (20:41):
It's so shitty that if you ask me rich, who's
the six playoff teams in the AL if the season
ended today?
Speaker 2 (20:49):
You want to know why?
Speaker 1 (20:50):
That's easy to sort of figure out because there's only
six teams that are over five hundred.
Speaker 3 (20:54):
Six Stop my mathma, pet I thought it was five.
Hold on, let's say about maybe I'm right or right
out off. I think it was five teams over five hundred,
but I could be wrong, Like most.
Speaker 1 (21:03):
Of them, it changes every day because this team's hovering.
But right now the Rays and the Yankees but bam
in the central Cleveland and.
Speaker 2 (21:11):
The White Sox are one game over go to the West.
Speaker 1 (21:16):
Shit, you're right, not even six Texas lost, so they
are under five hundred. You're talking about five teams if
the baseball season ended today, there's not six teams over
five hundred in the in the American League? Aren't you embarrassed?
Speaker 2 (21:35):
Why is the also ass right?
Speaker 1 (21:37):
I think just the way the schedule is now, this
will balance out. I'd imagine after one hundred and sixty
two games.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
But I mean you would think, right, and where where
we are? Where we are now? What do we spot
show me the stand things again, what do we what
are we in? How many games?
Speaker 1 (21:51):
Forty forty five games or so, right like forty to
fifty games.
Speaker 3 (21:55):
Fifty games. Yanks are thirty and twenty Yeah, as we
speak right now, so you're fifty.
Speaker 1 (21:59):
Games and you're a little more than a fourth of
the way. With that said, look at the National League.
The National League is gonna simm it down now. There's
no way that the National League. Look at the National
League Central, there's no way the National League Central.
Speaker 2 (22:14):
They're all over five hundred. The last place Pittsburgh Pirates
are twenty five and twenty four.
Speaker 1 (22:19):
The Reds, the Cubs, the Cardinals, the Brewers, every team
that can't sustain.
Speaker 2 (22:25):
And then look at the West.
Speaker 1 (22:26):
The Dodgers and Padres are playing out of their mind.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
The Arizona Diamondbacks are good.
Speaker 1 (22:33):
The whole American League sucks, and all the National League
teams are pretty good. The Mets are one of the
worst teams that I have a feeling they're going to
sort of bounce back.
Speaker 2 (22:42):
So just league too.
Speaker 3 (22:44):
And by the way, I'm just looking at the dominant
Dodgers thirty one and nineteen as we speak right now.
On over promised, and you know, it's sort of going
under the radar, and we talked about it earlier today,
but the fact that Otani's just so dominant on the
mound this year. He took getting that cy young this year.
Speaker 2 (23:02):
Serious.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
Oh yeah, and we're reaping all the benefits. The league
is paying, but we're reaping the benefits. What's his era
O seven fourth?
Speaker 2 (23:09):
It's unreal.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
And the funny part is it's sort of good for
him because his bat is is a little cold, so.
Speaker 2 (23:15):
It's a little colder.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
Yeah, but hey, it's like, oh, is it one of
those things rich that we're witnessing where my dad always
said to me, He's like e he goes.
Speaker 2 (23:24):
You may be uh, you may be winning in.
Speaker 3 (23:26):
Life when it comes to your professional career, but your
love life's going to suffer.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
You can never have both. He says stuff like that.
Speaker 3 (23:33):
Do you think like it's impossible for Otani to have
like a ridiculous cy young year on the mound and
behind the bat.
Speaker 2 (23:43):
It's tough to do both.
Speaker 1 (23:44):
As spot, our video guy just pulled up oh seven
to three e r A spot. Can you say, before
we wrap it up, can you just go to his
baseball reference just scroll down or go to MLB dot com.
What's his offensive stats are they? Are they meager or.
Speaker 2 (23:57):
No, let's say that's his pitch.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
They're not.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
They're not meager. But he struggled for a long while.
Speaker 3 (24:00):
Remember he wasn't hitting bombs for a minute, so they're
not they're not show hey caliber. So you know, now
I'm wondering can he put together that monster season or
and I'm not saying he hasn't done it before. He's
had great overall seasons. But like it seems like last
year he was so dominant as a hitter and player.
This year he's equally as dominant. But as a pitcher,
(24:21):
Otani's just not bringing it at the plate. I mean,
he's still a good he's still a good offensive player,
but the fact that he's pitching out of control.
Speaker 2 (24:28):
So there you go.
Speaker 1 (24:30):
Anything you miss on our show you can always catch
on the pod. And thank you for hanging on over promised.
