do it. We love you. All shows rescheduled.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
So for today's episode, Upon Me to World, we will
continue our journey to Orlando, Florida, the happiest place on Earth.
Episode of Boy Meets World. What should have been a
two part episode when we filmed it has become a
two part episode of our podcast.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
Look at us making it right?
Speaker 2 (03:11):
Please enjoy.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
And then we're in Disney World in Orlando. We get
cool exteriors here, we see the monorail, the Epcot Ball,
we see the Castle. We end up at the Living
Sea Pavilion. It's a SeaWorld knockoff. A group of people,
including to Pangas, is still around.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
I don't know, I don't I have no idea they
still torture animals like seaworlds or did everybody learn their lesson?
We can stop this now.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
I don't know they have for the most part, haven't they.
Like you can't see the orco whale stuff anymore, can you?
That's all gone, isn't it.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
I think they've finally governed of that. Oh thank god,
Manory Blackfish came out.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
It's now called The Seas with Nemo and Friends. Okay,
so it appears to be there, The Seas with Nemo
and Friends. Yeah, it's there still. So they just changed
the name.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
So it's just an aquarium and.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
They tied it into Disney a little more with calling
it Nemo and Friends.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
Okay. I liked Nemo.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
Oh yeah, Nemo's great. I liked Albert Bros.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Albert just such a good movie.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
So a group of people including Topanga, Ronnie and Kristin
I'll walk in greeted by a dolphin trainer played by
the beautiful Debbie Dunning. She tells them for the next
week they're going to be studying and observing dolphins. On
the other side of the park, Corey and Sean are
walking through Epcot as Sean Brown.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
Everybody in my family by the way, like that dolphin
trainer is so beautiful? What is uh?
Speaker 1 (04:30):
Just look like just And then later we see her
in like a Baywatch bathing suits, Like.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
Yes, I thought the same thing. I'm like, what is
she wearing this? She's gorgeous? Do you think she you
were there?
Speaker 3 (04:41):
Did she actually do the diving in the tank and
everything and get or did she just get out of
the tag? She got swimming with it, So she wasn't
actually swimming with the dolphin and doing all the stuff
at the beginning.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
No, okay, was there there?
Speaker 3 (04:54):
Didn't They start like she she gets out of the water,
but they insinuate that she's like there with the dolphin.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
The water to swim with the dolphins for stuff they
shot off camera.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
Well didn't Ben do that? No, No, they see her.
You see her get out of the tank.
Speaker 1 (05:08):
Right right, and so that she takes.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
She also lost forty pounds. She didn't have Ben. Didn't
Ben train to be able to keep up with the dolphins.
She also had to learn the dolphins.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
And it was a whole unfortunately none of that paid
off for the fit into the twenty two minute episode.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
But here being funny, but she gets out of the
tank with all the aquar.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
She doesn't take a few steps out of a body
of water, and.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
She wrong any good of an actress. She learned she actually.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
Lived with the dolphins for five months, just just just
to get She was bruney, so bruney under there.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
You hate to please direct all of your letters that
are gonna come to know.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
You saw her swim five camera. She talked like a dolphins.
She made she she fluent dolpl flu and dolphin just
for this role. She was a thousands just a couple phrases.
I mean, but oh goodbye, But she did study. You
watch and really the Emmys that you I mean that
(06:16):
commitment to not get at least none, at least swim
You watch, okay, you watch. Send all your letters, please
inundate them with letters. Inundate them with letters.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
No, it starts with their swimming. No, you and writer
the letters. People people going No, she swam like ten feet.
You watched her swim ten feet. So did she really
do it? I'm saying, did she actually put the equipment
on and swim like Ben did?
Speaker 2 (06:42):
It's a logical question.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
Thank you will, It's a logical question.
Speaker 3 (06:45):
Oh I can't wait Oh, I can't wait for the letters.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
Oh, I can't wait for the letters. I can't wait
they're coming.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
Please everyone, I'm asking all of our dear listeners to
inundate Podmets world dot com with letters for Danielle and
writer about how she actually swim.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
You studied the tree for this episode right to be
able to move the dummy around, spent at least three weeks.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
It's one of the reasons we were so overwhelmed as
a production is because the dolphins.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
Had to put a scuba scuba gear on. Yes, yes,
and he acts, but that's him in the tank, swimming
him in the tank for no reason, because it could
have been the dummy. He could have literally brought the
Corey dummy exactly.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
So.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
On the other side of the park, Corey and Sean
are walking through Epcot as Sean brags about his uncle
Nikki taking care of their travel arrangements. Corey eels we
took a cargo plane. Sean, I sat next to a
creative live chickens, pointing out the peck barks on his neck.
Sean wants him to calm down. They're at the happiest
place on Earth. Corey asks, then, why am I so miserable.
Sean reminds him, you're going to find Tapanga and tell
her you still love her. Corey agrees, She's the most
(07:53):
wonderful thing that's ever happened to me. How can I
not have her in my life? Corey complains, there are
ten of thousands of people here. They have a very
slim chance of finding her, and in a classic sitcom trope,
John and Gory turned to scan the area, but just
then a golf cart drives behind them with Tapanga in
the front seat, but they are looking in the wrong
direction so they don't see her. The boys turn around.
(08:16):
Oh it's such a shame. The boys turn around right
after the cart passes, and Corey says, we better get started.
It could take days.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
Yes, I'm one of those people. I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
It takes me out of the scene every time when
all the extras. I like it when you see things
being shot in New York and stuff like that, and
all the extras are clearly looking at the cameras and
clearly looking at the actors, which is.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
What happens, and you're so you're seeing all these business.
This is classic production overwhelmed moment. Like this scene, it's
just you know, and I don't know if everyone we
don't maybe have to go into too much detail. But
this is the difference between single camera and multi camera
is that a single camera crew sets up for exeter
shots like this for a lot longer than what we
(08:55):
would set up on stage. So like you would have
we would do, you would shoot what's called coverage with
like you'd only shoot in one direction. You'd have big
outdoor lights, you'd have boards and stuff to reduce shadows
to make. And that's why, like single camera shows are
more expensive and time consuming. Less so now but back then,
especially the difference between a multi camera show where you're
(09:17):
shooting on stage and I'm sure, oh I'm sure, but
it's just it's so hard like and in this just
looks awkward. It looks like a multi camera show on location,
which never feels right.
Speaker 3 (09:29):
You know, all you guys were there and I was not.
Was was it our crew? Did we have members of
our crew filming everything?
Speaker 1 (09:37):
So it wasn't like a local floor, It was a
local Florida crew.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
I might have been a looking forward. I just remember cracking,
being overwhelmed. We had a jib. You can tell that
we had a jib, so you know, we use that
as much as possible. And a jib is a weighted
crane that you can like go up and down.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
The big famous shot of Core and Banga kissing in
front of the fountain, right jib shot. And yes, I
think all of the background actors were not actors. They
were There were just signs all over the park near
where we were shooting that said things like, by being here,
you agree to have your face in.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
A on camera on camera.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
By the way, if you are one of the people
who was in the park while we were shooting, please
send us your emails. If you if you can be
spotted in this episode of Boy Meets World because you
were there with your family, please send us your emails.
That's so cool. I want to hear about that. I
want to hear about your experience. So that's why people
(10:33):
are looking right at the camera because they're not there.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
They tell them, I'll be honest. I didn't even actually
notice that.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
I don't really either to be honest, but will always does.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
Yeah, I was so focused on just like the awkwardness
of like Ben and I in broad sunlight squinting like
it just looks so you know, not know it.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
I have a question writer for you for your for
for just your personal life.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
I noticed Ben is in shorts. You are not. Was
that a choice for actors? Don't like that's you're wearing.
That was my question.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
So you don't wear shorts in boots?
Speaker 2 (11:09):
I wear excludes sandals. He could do sandals. He has hobbitized.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
He I've seen I've seen nobody should see my sand.
But I've seen your hobbit feet and many times.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
Yes, you you've had to No.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
Okay, so that so that was a choice by you.
Then where it's like, I'm not wearing.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
Shorts, I mean you can't. Yeah, you can't get me
in shorts. Not unless I'm going into the water. You're
not going to be in shorts. No. I recently, I
was in Mexico for the last New Year's and I
bought new, uh new cool cowboy boots. No, And so
I wore my my jeans and boots to the beach
while my son and my wife went in the water,
and I fit right in. I fit right in.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
I'm not going to be able to get past that
piece of information. So we get the same shaky zoom
back at the high school in the as the exterior,
and we are back in the school hallway. Eric walks
(12:12):
out of a classroom with the Corey doll around his
shoulder as a teacher shouts, oh, excellent oral report, Corey Matthews.
Eric leans the doll into the classroom, waves its arms,
and shouts thank you in a high pitched voice. And
I guess we just buy that that that doll is
so believable.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
Well, that's the thing. It's it's I guess that's supposed
to be. I get it. It's to be funny. I
get it.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
It's funny.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
I get it's a weird one to go with, but
I get it. I get Well, here's here's the thing.
What's what's interesting is like, once you've written this right,
then you have to get the production department to make
the doll. And if the doll had looked too realistic,
it would have been creepy or weird. So the idea
is that once you are once you write this joke,
you have to make it look pretty bad in.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
Order for it to be fright, like right, Because yeah,
I get it, I get it. Eric then shoves the
doll into his locker and turns around to see mister
Feenie completely shocked. A disturbed Fhoene asks what Eric is doing.
Phoene could have sworn he saw Eric stuffing Corey into
his locker. Eric asks, why would I want to do
something like that. Phoene's still extremely confused and says, well,
I don't know, but I clearly saw a curly haired
boy into your locker. Eric asks, but why would I
(13:22):
want a curly haired boy in my locker. Phoene responds again,
I don't know, I don't know, points to the locker,
telling Eric get him out of there right Then, Turner
asks mister Feenie to grab a word with him, and
while Phoene's back is turned, Eric launches the Cory doll.
The locker's wide open with nothing inside. Right as Phoene returns,
Phoenie asks, do you think I'm a dummy, mister Matthews.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
Eric scoffs, well, get it, dummy, dummy, get it.
Speaker 1 (13:47):
Feenie responds, I'll see you in detention, and I guess
we just believe that. As Phoene turns toward that direction,
he doesn't see the dummy body on the ground not
that far.
Speaker 2 (13:59):
The fourth wall is no fourth really threw them into it.
It is literally a wormhole that once you enter, it's
the same text. It's the same vortex that Corey is in.
Speaker 3 (14:09):
Later, as he walks two feet from Topango, who never
sees her.
Speaker 2 (14:14):
The vortex that Hillary Tuck exists, and she's like she
can beam in and out from that vortex. Different people, yes,
three different people, And.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
We're back at Disney World. Corey and Shawn are wading
in a long, long line. Corey's trying to find Tapanga
on this ride. Sean questions who said anything about a ride?
And then he's handed to Chruro. Cory yels, are you
kidding me? Come on, let's go, And all those people
there are just I think regular background.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
Did you is that all you saw? Is that really
all you saw?
Speaker 1 (14:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (14:44):
The two guys behind you are Blackman and bus Gang.
Speaker 3 (14:47):
What did you never notice that the two guys behind
you're looking.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
At any gang myself?
Speaker 3 (14:53):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (14:54):
If Blutman and bus Gang are the two guys directly.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
Behind you, so cool, both sitting there acting like have
not just no attention to detail.
Speaker 3 (15:04):
Yeah, it's gang sitting right by, standing right behind you,
waiting for their turro, giving.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
Like these exasperated size.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
Like, oh.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
I have to go back.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
I'm going to go back, and all.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
I saw was the two of them. Yeah, very cool.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
So then we're at the Living Sea Pavilion. The world's
sixiest dolphin trainer, who's now wearing that bay Watch red swimsuit,
is explaining to the students that we can't speak the
dolphins language. She can.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
And this is the worst set to film in. Did
you get I mean the audio is so echoey, like
if you walked into the set, the first thing you'd
say is no, we can't, we cannot record it.
Speaker 3 (15:40):
Entire performance is eighty r. You can tell the lip
flaps don't match. She is eighty or entire performance is
eight rs. You can see the mouth of flaps ye
mouth flaps knuckles and mouth knuckles mouth.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
Yeap. No this. I was watching this going like why
would you make this choice? Like, if you're you're at
and also you're at, you fly all the way to
Disney to go into a tank, you know, like what
we do before they went?
Speaker 3 (16:10):
So this is I mean they had but the wonder
the episode built out on a disney World and all
the things to write around Disney World.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
You decide to go into a dolphin tank. That could
because do you.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
Think they tried to fit something that Topanga would have
written about. What would Topanga have won a contest for
that would make sense to be at Disney World if
not something animal related?
Speaker 2 (16:32):
The dangers of capitalism? Okay, yeah, true? And a trip
to the most Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (16:39):
I do think a male dominated world could have won anything.
You could have written about anything.
Speaker 1 (16:44):
I don't know. We'll see. You're right. It doesn't have
to tie into something at Disney World. They could have
just been writing and write a great essay on such
a topic and then go to it.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
When anybody thinks of Disney World, you don't think of Dolph,
animals and environmentalism, No, especially before Animal Kingdom. Now, once
Animal Kingdom came out, they tried a little bit more,
but this was pre Animal Kingdom, so nobody thinks of
dolphins and dis No.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
I mean, Epico would have been great because you talk
about multiculturalism, like different cultures and like absolutely should they
wrote reports on different countries and then we could have
been in each one of those countries.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
Get back to the Sexy Dolphin Trainer. She introduces the
dolphin amber because amber was found beached. They're nursing her
back to health. But because she's been separated from her
family and quite possibly her mate, she's lost her appetite.
She won't take any food.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
Metaphor. HiT's a metaphor. It's like the globe rolling over.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
Corey. Yeah, so you get all those you pick up
on all those force I do to Panga is visibly concerned.
She asks what will happen to her. The trainer tells
her she's not sure, but she hopes Amber will be
reunited with her mate soon. Corey and Sean barge into
the facility. Corey has a feeling to Panga will be
here because they've looked everywhere else. Sean sees Topanga. There
she is. I love also that you say, brilliant, there
(17:56):
she is.
Speaker 2 (17:57):
It's hold on, we've looked everywhere everywhere. I think this
is also the joke, like they've said.
Speaker 3 (18:03):
It's like they could be anywhere and you turned your
back and they drive behind you.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
Now you've looked where the dolphin tank is and nobody's
allowed about it. Hango would be. It doesn't make sense.
It could have just easily been the joke that or
we just know that this was part of their tour,
Like Why wouldn't we know that if you wrote a
nessa and environmentalism, they're going to be backs are going to.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
Be They're gonna spend a whole week at the Living
Seas Pavilion. Yes, part of the announced competition.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
Sean stole their itinerary. I have managed to rip off
the itinerary. I know exactly where they're going to be.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
Yeah, but if they know exactly where they're going, you
miss out on all the opportunities to see long lines
for turos.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
But that's the joke that long lines for turos. What else?
We have we done? The characters search now not yet
so you could still do us chasing you trying to
find Okay.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
Okay, anyway, Corey tell Sean, I'm just gonna go over there,
and I'm gonna tell her that I love her. I mean,
I've loved her since the day our eyes met, and
then I and that I will love her until the
day I die.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
And what do you except for when I broke up
with her at the beginning?
Speaker 1 (19:04):
What other days?
Speaker 2 (19:06):
But when she wanted to go be French?
Speaker 1 (19:09):
Who doesn't? And what do you think she's going to
say when she hears that? And then Kristen is standing
behind Corey, thinking that speech is about her why she
was called to Panga. If I were in that situation,
I would be like, Corey, it's obvious you still have
feelings for your ex and maybe you're acting out even
(19:31):
as a fifteen year old. I think maybe I would say,
perhaps you should be with Tapanga.
Speaker 3 (19:36):
She could also just be used to be calling different names,
seeing as this is the third name she's been.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
Called on the show. That's also a possibility where she's like, Okay,
maybe that's.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
She actually likes it.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
It's her cank. Didn't we help her up with her guy?
Like on the radio show? That was like the whole
episode with the radio Remember she was on the radio episode, Yes,
and we're like helping her because the guy calls in
and that's what we become like a dating show. Whatever
happened with him.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
What happened to him? Well, So Kristin is standing behind
Corey and she says, I love you too, Corey. She
can't believe he came all the way to Florida for her.
That's so romantic. She grabs his face and kisses him.
Corey tries to tell her, you don't understand, just as
to Panga walks up and again she sees that and
she says, oh, but I do, and she storms off,
(20:22):
no questions about why he's there in Florida or anything really,
and then we see a shot of Epcot and then
we're on Splash Mountain, which is a ride that's no
longer at Disney World. We see the sun start to
rise along we cut to Corey in one of the
ride's logs. He's slowly getting up, complaining my back every
disc got a whack. Sean appears in the log right
(20:43):
behind him, exclaiming best night's sleep I've ever had, so great,
very funny. Corey's upset. He's a thousand.
Speaker 2 (20:49):
This is a great seat. See this is like this
should have been more of what this episode is. It's
like hijinks on rides in Disney World, stuff going on,
good conversation. Were actually just talking about our character based stuff.
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (21:03):
Yeah, this is this felt very good. I love this.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
Yeah. And then running around and getting help from the
characters felt like we're taking advantage of what this episode.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
Did you shoot this before the ride opened for the day?
Speaker 2 (21:15):
Yeah, super early, Like we had to wake up at
like three or four in the morning to get there
and then yeah, and then we shot and they because
they wanted to open the ride up freezing exhaust sure, like, yeah,
you have to go seven times? Yeah, at least Yeah.
For some reason, I have the number seven in my head.
But Ben and I got so sick of the song.
Speaker 1 (21:34):
Oh yeah, couldn't they hut the music off?
Speaker 2 (21:38):
How do you do? How do you do?
Speaker 4 (21:41):
Do?
Speaker 2 (21:41):
Do? Do? Do?
Speaker 3 (21:41):
Do? Do do?
Speaker 2 (21:42):
How do you do? And there's one part where they go,
how do you do? Pretty good? Shows your bone, sure
as you're born, is what they're saying. But Ben and
I were convinced they were saying, shows your balls, so
it went pretty good, shows your bowls, over and over.
That's all we so for years, that's what we were
(22:02):
saying with one another. Pretty good shows your balls.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
At that shirt down me too, pretty good shows you both.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
I can't believe I forgot that until this. I'm like,
it's literally started to tell the story of it because
we were I mean, it was like being on acid ride.
That ride, no one else in it, the other logs
just over and over again, and then they have to
dry us all and then we when we get wet enough,
so then they have to like wet us down before
it was oh Man, over and over.
Speaker 1 (22:51):
So Corey's upset. He's a thousand miles away from home.
He didn't get the girl he came for, and he
slept in a log. He looks at Sean and asks,
you know what that makes me? A log sleep and loser?
You know says they should go home. Sean agrees, and
Corey is disturbed. My heart's been skewed and you're not
going to talk me into staying. Sean asks why you
gave it your best shot? Clearly she's more interested in
Ronnie Waterman. Corey says he has something to offer her passion,
(23:12):
deep passion and a history. I came here to woo
her and buy gum.
Speaker 2 (23:15):
Woo her I will.
Speaker 1 (23:18):
I want you to know I looked up the phrase
by gum because I needed to know when it was developed,
and it leads you down quite quite a rabbit hole.
But the only real thing I got out of it
was that it was coined in the earliest earliest Wow,
I can't speak early early nineteen cent, which is way
(23:38):
before Grease came out.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
It was like eighteen fifteen.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
Is the first use of it. And then and then
it was used in like nineteen twenty one in the
title of a song. But so anyway, Corey decided.
Speaker 2 (23:49):
I wasn't in the eighteen fifties version of Greeed.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
It wasn't in the it wasn't I don't think. Corey decides,
if you do your ball show you.
Speaker 2 (23:59):
I was trying to do like Summer Loven. Did she
put us up at the fight it? I don't know.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
Cory decides they're staying. He looks at Sean and says, Oh,
I see what you just did reverse psychology. You let
me think I was a loser to show me I'm
really not a loser. Sean replies, no, I just think
she and Ronnie make a really cute couple, but not
as cute as you and Topanga. Corey explains, it's a
new day and when I sweep Topi off her.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
Totally yea, Hopey made me uncomfortable.
Speaker 1 (24:30):
I know me too. Don't like it, don't like don't
like it. I want to be clean and fresh. So
Sean asks where they're going to find a shower, and
perfectly timed starts moving. We see them go down the
huge splash mountain drop and they are soaked Shawn's shot.
Speaker 2 (24:46):
Which India immediately called. He's like, they didn't ride the ride,
it just cut. He's like they edited that, Wow, Indy, nice,
they did nice.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
So we see uh now then Shawn shouts, now, where
do we find a towel? And that's where you get
peak corporate synergy folks. Right there, the boys from The
Boy Meets World on the Splash Mountain log ride edited.
It's the best. And then we're still at Disney World.
We see main Street and then we join Corey and
Sean running around the park looking for Topanga. They run
(25:18):
into The Beast from Beauty and the Beast and then
goofy asking each if they've seen Tapanga, and then we
enter a montage to Panga Is on the Utopia car
ride with Ronnie and Corey is revealed as right behind them,
following closely and waving, trying to get to Pega's attention.
Like a true sociopath, She's not interested. This is the
famous outfit here. It is a very memorable Topanga fit.
(25:38):
Dozens of people have dressed in it for our lives.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
Shit, Yes, why did I know this?
Speaker 1 (25:42):
Because there is a famous is the only moment? Yes?
This is it? Through this montage. There's a very famous
picture of Ben and myself on a bench with Epcot
behind our Disney World or Epcot behind us, where we're
sitting next to each other, and it's like a very
famous BTS shot of the two of us. And I'm
in that outfit.
Speaker 2 (26:02):
Yeah, because I knew this out yet. The second I
saw it, I was I've seen that outfit, I remember.
But then it's equal dress.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
It's a it is a peak to Panga moment, and
it's the only outfit of the of the episode that
I loved. I just loved it.
Speaker 2 (26:18):
I missed the chunky white belt.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
You miss it? You liked it a lot?
Speaker 2 (26:21):
Yeah, I liked it.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
So to Panga and Ronnie approach what they think is
a Disney character, but when he turns around, it's Corey
dressed up as Aladdin. He smiles, trying to impress her
with the costume, but she shakes her head and walks away.
To Panga and Ronnie are sitting at a bench and
we see a caricature artist in a beret drawing to Panga.
So that's the bench that Ben and I took the
photo on, and uh, it's it's really cute. We see
(26:45):
that it's Corey as the character artist yet again. To
Pega sees his drawing and runs off and get ready
for an iconic scene. Alert to Panga and Ronnie are
now eating dinner next to a giant fish tank and
to Panga is just staring off in the distance. Ronnie
asks why she has and touched her food, and to
Panka says she's just been thinking about something in truly
a terrible line rate of just maybe.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
Why are you guys dinner by yourself?
Speaker 1 (27:08):
That's what I'm I don't understand. They tried to make
it seem like there was some sort of potential relationship
brewing between the two of us, but like I don't
know why, and I don't know when that happened. And Nope,
it just it doesn't feel earned at all.
Speaker 2 (27:26):
It's weird. Yeah, it's very strange.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
Ronnie grabs her hand and asks if she's been thinking
about him. To Panka pulls her hand away, No, what
is it with you? Ever since we got here, you've
been trying to kiss me And if I let you,
then what then you leave? Because you got your prize?
Well I'm not in this sid nowhere.
Speaker 2 (27:40):
This is where I wanted them more from Andrew, like
because it was a dream secret.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
I was just going to say the only time he's
ever tried to kiss her was in Corey's dream that
they seemed yeah, yeah, so yeah, I don't know. I
guess you're just supposed to believe it because I say it,
and so you, Oh, that's what's been happening.
Speaker 2 (27:56):
And I hate it when we're also doing all these
romantic things with them.
Speaker 3 (27:59):
You're going and having your character, your picture, take, your
character driven and written then drawn, and then dinner and
the cars together, and it's like, I don't get it.
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (28:08):
I don't get it either. It says the more they
chase me, the more I get turned off. And as
she's giving Ronnie the business, Corey is in the fish
tank behind her holding a sign that says, I will
chase you forever. He's in full scuba gear. And yes,
Ben had to learn how to scuba dive, at least
for a very short amount of time. They had to
(28:30):
give him whatever little lessons he needed to do in
order to be able to do this.
Speaker 2 (28:34):
And now somebody didn't somebody tell us that they proposed
this way. Yes, I think you better showing Florida, someone
was saying that they got proposed. They they proposed by
going into the tank and how presenting the ring or somebody,
Oh no, what was the story?
Speaker 1 (28:50):
Do you guys remember this?
Speaker 2 (28:51):
Who was it?
Speaker 1 (28:53):
You have no idea?
Speaker 2 (28:54):
What flurry as my focus?
Speaker 1 (28:57):
Right?
Speaker 2 (28:59):
I think it was when we were in Florida or
somewhere somebody came up to us and told us the
story about how they went and had dinner and had
somebody go in into the tank and propose, like a
professional scuba diver from Disney held them ring up and
held the signs saying will you marry me? From within
the tank's yeah? And something went wrong, like the person
(29:24):
got like the yeah, like the scuba diver had like
a life threatening emergency and like was fine. But then
they had you guys didn't hear this? Where was this
whole story?
Speaker 1 (29:34):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (29:34):
My god?
Speaker 1 (29:35):
Did something? Did they lose the ring? What happened?
Speaker 2 (29:38):
No, it was like something went wrong with the tank
or like whatever ke and and then and then the
person who got proposed, the couple that got engaged tried
to like contact Disney to find out like who if
the scuba diver was okay and they were they were
totally fine, but they never like got to hear the
whole story about like what happened. But yeah, you guys
(29:59):
weren't there for this. So I must have been alone
somewhere and somebody told me this whole story and I
was like wow, and it was a whole boy meets
worlds all right, whoever's listening and knows what I'm talking about,
please please send me, because we obviously had a conversation.
Speaker 1 (30:12):
Send us a letter. That would be take a long
time and I don't know how to read those. But
if you have our email address, you can read.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
You seal it, you give it to the Pony Express.
You can go through Connecticut connect exactly, which is why
we can all still read in carry your Pigeon to Me,
okay rider strong care of Bop Magazine.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
Sean walks up to her she's storming off. She asks
what is it with your friend? And Sean responds, he's
just showing you how much he loves you. He probably
points to the tank and says, this one was my
idea to Pega grabs a cup of water and throws
it in his face before walking away. Do you remember
I remember shooting that part? Do you remember that writer. No, oh, okay,
I remember getting to splash you in the face with water.
That was fun.
Speaker 2 (30:53):
No, I was surprised. I was like, I feel like
I would remember.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
This, but no, clue, you don't interesting.
Speaker 2 (30:59):
And then I don't have any line or anything I
never wanted, like a beat, like nothing.
Speaker 1 (31:04):
So then we're in Epcot. Corey catches up to Tapanga,
who was furious he's in his wetsuit. He tells her
maybe he didn't know, but that was me in that tank.
She screams at him. I mean, she is just screaming.
But I think it's also because the audio is so
bad because of the water feature splashing up on the
rocks behind us. I did know, and I'd like you
to stop chasing me, all right. And the water feature
(31:27):
sound is just so awful through this entire scene. It's
very distracting. I don't know why they picked.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
Why shoot it there? Yeah, why shoot it there? You
have a whole part, because this is the thing. Nobody
on our production team was used to single camera work.
They you know, they were. We were all years and
years of working in multi camera, which is on stage,
which is the whole point of a sound stage. Is
that it's sound proof. That's why you shoot on a stage,
so you don't have to deal with airplanes, you don't
have to hold for traffic, you don't have to deal
(31:54):
with this kind of stuff. Like if a normal regular films,
our single camera crew would know to never go in
where near this or that. You're gonna have to ad
r the entire thing and just figure it out, or
you figure out the law of Like, we just weren't
prepared for this kind of production, and it's too bad.
Speaker 1 (32:08):
So Cory is confused. He's done everything for her. I
flew here dressed in hair and pants and a fez,
which you know I don't pull off. I swam with
the fishes to Panga cuts them off. You could hire
a blimp fly over Florida flashing my name and neon
and it wouldn't mean a thing to me. Corey nervously,
nervously says, oh God, please don't look up.
Speaker 2 (32:24):
To great line. Yes, that would I feel like that
should have just been the end of the scene. I out,
They're like, oh God, please don't look up, and we
just killed it. It would have been a great laugh
end of scene. And then she storms off and we're done,
like yep, anyway.
Speaker 1 (32:36):
To Pega continues, They're all just meaningless gestures. Corey is
shocked meaningless. How could they be meaningless? They come from
my heart to Peka tells them, I really wish I
could believe you, but every time I turn around, there
you are with another girl. Corey says, she's overreacting. We've
already seen Kristen's hands in the shot here she like
is right behind him, and we see her hands even
though she's supposed to be a reveal, but we see
her in a callback to Boy meets World of Yesteryear
(32:59):
and the she's behind me, isn't she?
Speaker 2 (33:00):
Joke?
Speaker 1 (33:01):
Corey asks Kristen. Right we zoom out, we now officially
see Kristen standing behind Corey in a wetsuit. Kristen says,
I was in the tank behind you. You're a fast swimmer.
To Pega, who is basically completed a five k by
now just runs away again. Maybe Corey should have just
gone straight to an explanation about this instead.
Speaker 3 (33:23):
Of in one of the three or four times this
keeps happening. Maybe explain it a little bit.
Speaker 1 (33:26):
Maybe think maybe, And then we're back in the dolphin
training center. Corey runs up to a girl that doesn't
resemble me in the slightest but she is wearing the
same print as me as a top instead of a dress,
So I guess that's the similarity. Did you guys notice
that the dress that Tapega is wearing, that floral dress,
they used the same material and they made Stacy Keenan
(33:47):
a shirt out of it. Ah, So when he comes
running up behind and says to Panga, it's supposed to
be because he sees the floral print and nothing gotcha?
Speaker 2 (33:55):
Gotcha? And there's no security around this dolphin. No, not
at all, answer anybody. She wants to get out? Does
she she doesn't work there? Does she?
Speaker 1 (34:03):
Nope? She actually explains, Uh, she doesn't work there. She
was on a tour and she decided to hang back
on her own, which is not something people do.
Speaker 2 (34:13):
This is just to shoehorn. Yes, Stacy Kennan into the
episode to give some advice to all eighty advice all
in the mouth flaw makes the whole thing is terrible.
She know you know what is not terrible? Her acting?
She's great. She is no like, she's phenomenal, And I
this is why what I remember about Stacy Keenan is like,
(34:34):
I had such a talent crush on her. I was
in meeting up with her from the age of like
eleven on. She had I don't know why. She always
stuck out to me as somebody who just had such
a natural presence. And she also had never there was
depth to the stuff she said, and she never had
a false moment, and like and like, no matter how
bad the scene was or whatever, she would come across.
And I remember she had done a movie of the
(34:58):
Week or maybe it was an actual feature where she
like has a crush on an older guy. It was
like one of these like early nineties thrillers about like
a teenage girl and an older guy and he like
turned psychopathic or like whatever. I don't know, but I
somehow saw this thing and decided that Stacy Keenan was
the greatest actor that had ever lived, and that I
would someday get to work with her and marry her.
(35:20):
This was this was my plan, and I did end
up meeting her on I guess the Disney lot at
some point with my manager, and he knew like how
I felt about her, and he brought me up to
her and was like, writer, this is Stacy and this
is probably like one of the few times in my
life I completely lost the ability to speak and and
(35:42):
and my manager was like, right, did you want to
tell Stacy how you felt about her performance? And you
know whatever the thriller this was, I think it was
called like the Crush, No, the Crush was the one
where the Crush it was. It was basically that movie,
like before that movie, and Stacy and I I remember
just being you. You were really really I tell you,
I mean, your acting was really good, and she just
(36:03):
she was so nice but could kind of care less.
Speaker 3 (36:06):
Now Michael knew that from the beginning because I said
about my two dads. I was like, oh, you did
my two dads. I was like, I think Stacy Keenan
is amazing. Her acting is incredible. I believed everything she did.
I have such a crush on her. And that's why
he's talented.
Speaker 2 (36:18):
Memory service. He goes, I got bad news and worst news.
Speaker 3 (36:21):
I'm like, all right, what's the bad news, Like we're
going to Florida and you're not coming, Like, oh, okay,
what's the worst news? Like Stacy Keenan's finally gonna be
on the show.
Speaker 2 (36:27):
And she's going to be in Florida. It's like, dude,
come on, yeah, and she left the industry, right she is.
She's a lawyer. She's a big lawyer in La. Yeah.
How do you respect that? How do you not respect that?
But but again, what is the point she's there, she's
so shes and whistless and whistles.
Speaker 1 (36:49):
I said, too many people have a dolphin. So he's
going to get out of this girl's beast.
Speaker 2 (36:55):
Shows up, like, what are we doing?
Speaker 1 (36:56):
Let her do the fish work, even though she doesn't
work there, so it doesn't.
Speaker 3 (37:00):
Know she's feeding the she this seems unsafe for Amber.
Speaker 1 (37:06):
Yep, So she repeats that Amber has been separated from
her mate. The dolphin is Amber something she was also
told by the hot trainer comments.
Speaker 2 (37:14):
Disappeared and left her alone. I cared about Amber so
much as she left her alone with this some maybe
that's what Amber is really suffering from. You know, Amber
is being treated horribly by Taurus who just decided to
hang out and overfeed her. I mean, poor Amber.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
No, Amber's not eating, remember, yes, she's not eating, she's
on her Corey comments, She's just an animal, and then
Stacy Keenan is offended. Just an animal how do you
get off saying something like that? She makes him apologize
to Amber and Stacy Keenan says, if I've learned one
thing during my time here, which is an insane thing
to say, considering what she's been there for fifteen minutes?
How long she possibly been there?
Speaker 2 (37:50):
Once she knows that's dolphins, all that is is a
holdover from this obviously was written for the dolphin trainer. Yes,
and then they were like, well, wait, wait, wait, we
can get Stacy Keenan. Let's go through the budget. Is
that worthy. We can fly her to Florida. We can Stacey,
I'll ask Stacy will get her to do it. Great.
Now we'll just change lines. We'll just change the character name.
She was on a tour. Come on, take some time.
(38:11):
This is bad. It was bad. It was bad.
Speaker 1 (38:13):
So she says she's learned animals are like people with
real emotions. She just wishes she could get Amber to eat.
She tells Corey, maybe you'll have better luck. Sure, just
leave this guy who also just called her an animal
and who's a kid. But okay, she leaves, and Corey
is now alone with the dolphin, and Corey has a
(38:35):
full on conversation with Amber finding common ground. Once you've
met that special person, it's hard to live knowing they're
out there and they're the only one you learn about alone.
Amber squeaks back in agreement. He shrugs, at least I tried,
and now I'm talking to a fish. He grabs a
piece of smelt, throws it into Amber's mouth, and she
eats it. Yuess, because it's nice. It's nice to know
(38:57):
that somebody else is sad about their mate.
Speaker 2 (39:00):
Misery loves smelt.
Speaker 1 (39:02):
Corey smiled and says goodbye. As Corey is walking away
to Pega appears it's directly behind him. Half a second later,
the timing unbelievable. Panga sees that Amber has eaten and
she seems excited by this. And now we are outside
near the Disney World fountains, which is a better water
feature for sound, I guess. Apparently, Tapega runs after him,
(39:24):
yelling at Corey. Corey tells her, I heard you loud
and clear. I'm not going to chase you anymore. We'll
just go back to being friends or whatever it is
you want to be. Tapega reminds him he flew across
the country to see her. He admits he's embarrassed by this.
He didn't even get the free miles. Tapega continues, you
dressed in silly outfits, you swam with sharks. Corey cuts
her off. There were sharks in there.
Speaker 2 (39:42):
She was funny line, very funny, good line.
Speaker 1 (39:45):
Yeah, She says she wasn't going to give up. She
says he wasn't going to give up no matter what.
Corey asks how many times he has to say sorry?
She admits it's her turn to say sorry. No, it's
not it really is not. She didn't realize all of
these things came from his heart until now. She leans
in to kiss him. Corey says he's really confused, and
to Pega admits she is too. He asks, are we
(40:05):
friends or what? She smiles and says or what, then
leans in again to kiss to kiss him. I mostly
just kiss him in this show, just kissing him.
Speaker 2 (40:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (40:17):
Debya asks, we did break.
Speaker 2 (40:18):
Up counteract aggressiveness in a way, you know, like it's
it's kind of it's a way to mitigate because if
Corey were like grabbing you.
Speaker 1 (40:25):
And kiss I just grabbing me and kissing me. I
mean he kind of just stands there and I kiss him,
I kiss and he just stay.
Speaker 2 (40:32):
But that's what I mean, That's what I mean, Like
I feel like that's actually the only way that it
can help mitigate the like.
Speaker 3 (40:38):
Because he's chased you a crown there across the cross
the country exactly.
Speaker 2 (40:41):
He's demanding shouldn't emotionally manipulative. I guess so. But I
think the part of it is like, oh now, now
he's sort of like you're you're in charge, and you're
coming at him, and it's.
Speaker 1 (40:52):
Like I'm behind.
Speaker 2 (40:54):
He was like all right, no. But I think if
even if, if if Corey were like all right, let's
get it would be a little like okay, you know,
I'm sure it was a conscious thing. They're like no, no, no, no,
don't kiss her back, Okay, let her kiss you. This
is about Tapanga expressing her desires finally and having her
opinion and apologizing for all that she's done wrong, well
(41:15):
so many things. She's gone to Florida and been herself
and had her own opinions and thoughts.
Speaker 1 (41:21):
And yeah, they kiss again. Now is the camera and
our first jib shot ever shows the fountains behind them
going off with happy music playing in the background, and
us and making out by gum.
Speaker 2 (41:32):
They did it, bye gum.
Speaker 1 (41:35):
And then we're in the tag. We're in the Matthew's kitchen.
Amy and Allan are scolding Corey at the kitchen table.
Alan asks, you were gone for two days? What did
you think you were going to tell us? I was
out front ship and golf balls. Corey tries, Alan grounds
him for the next month. Morgan hops down from the
counter asks a month. I got more time when I said,
and then there's a loud bleep covering the bad words.
She said, this is our first bleep ever.
Speaker 2 (41:56):
Best line of the show besides Corey looking on my hand.
Speaker 1 (41:59):
To say, he's actually saying no.
Speaker 3 (42:01):
Do you I remember what she said during the run through,
during during the table read. During the table read, she
said asshole?
Speaker 1 (42:08):
Okay, right, but she.
Speaker 2 (42:10):
Clearly says like three words. She doesn't and I couldn't
tell you so much smarter to make it virtually impossible
to know.
Speaker 1 (42:18):
And that's why they didn't Disney or was not going
to have something that looks very clearly.
Speaker 2 (42:23):
It also makes it seem even.
Speaker 1 (42:25):
More filthy that it's like, yes, vacuum cleaner of the rug.
Speaker 2 (42:33):
I wonder somebody out there must have figured out try
to like live Actually, sure if you have please, I'm
sure you let us know. Reddit thread dedicated to it,
Debbie Dunning.
Speaker 1 (42:44):
If you're out there and you remember after you get
done telling us about how you lived with the know
what you.
Speaker 2 (42:49):
Know, you could let us know also what you know
what you know what? Don't get me started. You made
Amber stop eating You your fault, Morgan. This is so
funny and this is such a great way to like
involve Morgan again. Like, I just love that. Morgan is
like the sort of smart Alec you know, who swears
and gets in trouble.
Speaker 1 (43:07):
And then she has a little bit of a sweet
moment where as she leaves, she tells Corey, I thought
what she did for Tapanga was really sweet. I hope
someday a boy does that for me.
Speaker 2 (43:15):
Corey, I don't think it's very sweet.
Speaker 1 (43:16):
No, it's not. I don't think it's weet. Corey pulls
out too.
Speaker 2 (43:18):
So I think it's weird. And I think that the
parents actually and Feenie and all that, Like, I think
there's a responsibility to like maybe comment on that, like, hey, dude, chill,
chill out right. I don't know, seems pretty crappy to me, Yeah, great,
so he got the girl like that seems like a
really not so healthy thing to support. I don't know, man,
it sucks.
Speaker 1 (43:38):
Corey pulls out two snow domes from his bag from
disney World, hoping it'll make his parents go easy on him.
Amy tells Corey to go upstairs, so Corey takes the
snow globes back, really having to yank it from Alan.
Amy tells Corey, I'm glad everything worked out for you
into Panga. He smiles and says me too, mom. Then
he hands her back the snow globe, saying you may
keep yours, but not Alan. He gets nothing. Corey makes
his way upstairs. I know, I thought that was kidy.
(44:00):
Corey makes his way upstairs and Eric walks in. Alan
immediately tells him to sit down. They know he covered
for Corey, but Eric says without evidence, there's no way
to time me to this messy affair. So I bid
you farewell. And then Feene, dressed in his cute gardening gear,
arrives through the back door.
Speaker 2 (44:13):
He says, I was with a dead body of one
of the kids. That one of the kids reason down
that deep. The only reason to dig down to the sheep. Yes,
I yelled it. Feine was digging in his garden and
found he was going six feet under it and it
just happened.
Speaker 3 (44:29):
He was going to throw another one on top, and
when then he was like, wait, I didn't kill anyone
with a red shirt.
Speaker 2 (44:33):
Wait, what's going on?
Speaker 1 (44:35):
We were on to something.
Speaker 2 (44:37):
Yeah, I'm telling me azaleas haven't been growing. They must
not be mulching the bodies. They're not doing their Oh
it's not a real body.
Speaker 1 (44:45):
So everyone is shocked, and Phoene asks, I believe this
is yours. Eric laughs at the mannequin and asks, come on,
is this the best you can do? See? And so
there we get another little moment where the mannequin. He
thinks the mannequin isn't good. It's one of those moments
where I thought they were trying to have it both
wa with the mannequin.
Speaker 3 (45:00):
But yeah, that's the one part of this whole episode
that didn't sit right with me.
Speaker 1 (45:04):
Oh that one part.
Speaker 2 (45:05):
Yeah, they had me everything understandable and character based. I'm sorry, but.
Speaker 3 (45:12):
The more I'm talking about it, this is one of
my least favorite episodes we've watched so far.
Speaker 2 (45:15):
I'm gonna be totally.
Speaker 3 (45:16):
Honest, and it's a strange thing where it shows how
an iconic episode because people remember it a certain way
might not be that great an episode because this is
not a great episode.
Speaker 2 (45:27):
So no, it's you know. The problem is also it's
not super funny along the way, like because even like
the Subway episode, which I rolled my eyes at all
the contrivances there, there are so many like it's wrong,
and there are actually memorable lines even if you know
I don't love them, they're trying, whereas this one is
going for that earnestness, and that earnestness is Corey's obsessiveness,
(45:48):
and that's just not that interesting to me.
Speaker 3 (45:50):
It's yeah, the whole episode was very weird. Love Blufman
and bus Gang. They are amazing guys. And I'm sure
this went through the ringer with this episode, so but yeah,
not not one of the tough production week, top production
week or two weeks.
Speaker 1 (46:03):
