In the magical world of Portlandia, the dream of the '90s still lives. Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein revisit their cult-classic TV series, which documented the hipster fad of birds as decor, unique bicycles, and intense mustache care that defined the capital of Oregon for an entire generation. During special visits from the Mayor and other beloved Portlandians, Carrie and Fred recount the struggles, joys, and surprises of each episode.

but today we're showing up as ourselves to tell you
about Podlandia. AO rewatch our brand new podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Each week, we'll revisit an episode of Portlandia from the
very beginning, breaking down the sketches, exploring the backstories of
our most iconic characters, revisiting the portland locations you know
and love, and opening up about our creative process.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
How did any of this get made? Why do you
think that was a good idea? We're ready to talk
about it, and.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
We'll also be joined by the people who helped bring
it all to life, guest stars, collaborators and friends, including

Amy Mann, and many more.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
You get married and you ask me to be the
best man essentially, and to give the toast. I look
around and it is it's all all the aforementioned people,
plus Tina Fey, plus you're marrying Elizabeth Moss. This is
the peak of mad Men, you know. So it's like
Jon Hamm, it's Matt Winer, the creator of the show.

(01:10):
I mean, this is a very like stacked event. And
I'm I'm an indie musician, you know, and I give
this toast I. It's comedic, it's heartfelt, and I kind
of can't believe that I wasn't more scared it just
but I did it. And I remember later you telling

(01:34):
me like, you know, that was kind of your audition for.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Lauren Lauren also who told me later like, I'm sure
he didn't realize it, but it was as it was happening,
he was like, oh, that's her audition.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
Yeah, And I think what he realized was like, the
show is actually reliant on this chemistry. It has to
be these two people, like it's you know, if it
was you and someone from SNL, that's a whole different show.
But this show, that's Fredd and Carey.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Podlandia ao rewatch on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or
