Mel and Kira recap survival-mode weeks: Mel wraps KPMG at Hazeltine, gets a rain-delay “bonus” NBC finish, and becomes internet-famous for duffing a chip on live TV with LPGA commissioner Craig Kessler. They shout out Haeran Ryu’s win, Brooke Henderson’s chance, and Davy Weber’s career-best third that doubled her career earnings. Scheffler goes “video game” mode before a downpour, and a Monday playoff where Viktor Hovland wins (with a huge fan turnout and a sweet moment for his mom). Plus: Ben Rector at the NY Philharmonic, 4th of July hosting with real glassware, Kai’s first range trip, broken compound toilets, and traffic as the weekly shush.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Quiet Please, with Mel Reed and Kira Dixon, is an
iHeart women's sports production in partnership with Deep Blue Sports
and Entertainment. You can find us on the iHeartRadio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Welcome back to Quiet Please.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
You are dealing with two very committed, a little bit
tired podcast hosts, but we're very happy to be here
and tell you all about our crazy week Smel at
the KPMG ME at the Travelers Championship.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
But Mel, how is your week at Hazeltine?

Speaker 4 (00:44):
It was great.

Speaker 5 (00:46):
I was long, but it was awesome. I did life
from for the till Friday. Oh goal Central should say,
and then we then I went on cools over the weekend.
So yeah, it was awesome. I mean a bit of
a bummo was arranged a yesterday. I loved to have
got home last night after be on the road since March.
But I'm home and I've got two and a half
months off pretty much, so very exciting.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
We did it.

Speaker 4 (01:09):
You made it? Did it?

Speaker 5 (01:11):
I know I had to like not think about it,
but no, it was a great weak to finish with. Obviously,
all the like everyone I worked with, I absolutely love
so it was a fun one.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
It was cool. It was it was good to be
back at Hazel scene as well.

Speaker 4 (01:24):
And now everyone knows that I'm sure at chipping, so
that's it's really cool.

Speaker 5 (01:33):
Cure of the abuse I now get from spectators is beyond.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
If you didn't see this, the golf channel who We
Love put up the most amazing video of Well duffing
a chip on national television of the LPGA.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
Well, the funny thing is I just interviewed many Greeks.

Speaker 5 (01:57):
We were trying to be a bit more dynamic, like
I do want to be on the desk for five hours.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
I was like, who is Melanie Green?

Speaker 5 (02:04):
She's a rockie, really good girl, great girl, good player
as well obviously, but we spoke about the US Women's
Open with Chloe, our producer, like, let's get us out
and let's.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Make it a bit more dynamic.

Speaker 5 (02:16):
Me and I were pushing it, and so we did
it and it was actually great. I felt like it
really kind of emphasized the five hour show. You know,
they can get a bit draggy at times. So the
funny thing about this one, the first one, was that
I did a great interview with Melanie Green. She hit
some chip shots all live, and afterwards she's like, how

(02:36):
do you like?

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Can I just ask how you play this? Shots?

Speaker 4 (02:38):
Like yeah, I play it like this.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
So I almost hold.

Speaker 5 (02:40):
My first chip and then I do it again, almost
hold my second ship. And then I was playing all
these different kinds of shots hera and just crushing it.
So then Craig comes over and I was like, oh on, Craig,
you ever go and craigler the Craig condition, and then
I was basically saying, oh, dippy knees. You know, I

(03:02):
was a site taking the mike a bit because I
go on and you hit one. I was like all right,
and just that was the end of me. I feel
like I had flubbed it.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
He's got like some good karma or something that that
happened and could mean couldn't have been worth a rolled
with himself.

Speaker 5 (03:21):
And it was great because I didn't know they were filming.
I thought the cameras are off at this point.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Cameras always rolling, always on.

Speaker 5 (03:28):
So I flubbed that one. And then the next day
I interviewed Charlie and I flubbed it even worse. So
just now you're in your head, now in my head
but the thing is, I, well, I've also had about
fifteen like well known coaches that are now sending me
training aids chipping, so I'm actually not against you're getting help. Yeah,

(03:55):
I mean I'm up for a bit of free help.
So yeah, Basically, it was Anna's favorite thing to do
at night was to send me on the golf course
and just make me look more of a tweat than
I could have done the day before.

Speaker 4 (04:05):
But it was it made content gold, so it was good.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
I love.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
I saw a couple of people commenting on it, explaining
why you're so bad? You know, too handsy, yeah, not
that a dress. The weight is too distributed shoulders. Yeah,
you should have been more leaning on to your left foot.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
You know.

Speaker 5 (04:24):
There's a lot of people, and I'm also like, I
know I to help it, and this is my thing.
I just have a message for them. Okay, I appreciate
the feedback, but please fuck off. Like if I'd just
had like ten minutes of chipping, I would not have
loved it, but.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
You did because I don't think with Melanie Green.

Speaker 5 (04:40):
Literally I hit four chips and I haven't chipped since
Lash twenty twenty five. So everyone just goes it's the
first thing that I've literally don't chip. I don't chip,
and I was not even very good when I played.
I wasn't exactly like the stellar chipper. So it is
a bit a bit I've always had a bit of
issue with it, Okay, So it's just brought back a

(05:01):
lot of demons really, So that's awesome. Literally so hard
to overcome ten years of trauma of chipping as now
far resurfaced, so were we might be a bit fucked.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
It's all good, good, it's all good.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
So well, other than that, that was the tournament.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
Here is the GMG peah.

Speaker 5 (05:27):
Yeah, yeah, it was awesome. I mean, she's she's she's
so good, like she's actually Brandle's like he doesn't know.
Brandal Shambly does not know how she doesn't win more
because her stats are like ridiculous. So it was only
a bit amount of time she got it. Brooke Henderson
had a great chance as well, she was playing good
and then obviously Davey Webber from the Netherlands finished third,

(05:52):
which is her career best finish ever and what a
week to do it with the biggest prize money, so
she literally doubled her career earnings.

Speaker 4 (06:00):
Awesome, Nellie.

Speaker 5 (06:03):
Nellie was, Yeah, she had a bit of a rough
couple of weekend, but she was charging a bit, so yeah,
it was good. I mean, yeah, it's it's it's a
good golf course. I think they probably they could have
maybe made it a bit more challenging. But other that
they think I think they thought there was somewhere they're
coming in and stuff. But I thought it was great.
I like that golf course thing. It's a big golf

(06:23):
course and it's it's a fun golf course to play.
So I just wish the setup was maybe a little
bit different. But that's just me being critical. But yeah,
it was good.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
I saw some quiet police hats mm hmmm in the
in the wild, but yeah, you're turna bit and at mine.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
Yeah awesome. I had a few people back.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
She came up to me.

Speaker 5 (06:43):
I love the pod, so appreciate you. I will say
the merchant was awful.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
You don't mean the quiet place bridge.

Speaker 5 (06:53):
No, I don't know the merch is bad. I don't
mean the quiet police merch obviously, but.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
You can still by the way Hatstric's available.

Speaker 5 (07:04):
Yeah, yeah you can. But yeah, no, I was were disappointed.
The Merchant's basically the pro Shop and then a bunch
of Rider Cup stuff.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
But other than that, everything was good.

Speaker 5 (07:15):
Yes, dude, Like it was the pro Shop and it
was no like honestly not much like I'm talking tiny.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
And then the other marquis of.

Speaker 5 (07:23):
It was Rdy Cup stuff, which I thought was a
bit odd.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
But that's just me.

Speaker 4 (07:31):
Okay, what else was I gonna say? What else happened
that week? Nothing? Really, it was just a yeah, it
was just a good week. It's a good week.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
I mean, yeah, it's all.

Speaker 4 (07:41):
I've got a few cures to be honest, and now
you won't ask me a question about it.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
Yeah, with that enthusiasm, I I'm fucked.

Speaker 4 (07:54):
I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
Okay, how about you.

Speaker 5 (07:57):
It's a great week, Okay, hang on, hang on, goet
to go back.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
It was awesome seeing a quiet peace in world.

Speaker 5 (08:03):
Crowds were actually pretty darn good, So thank you to
Minnesota for showing up for us.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
We appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
I thought our shows were really good. We had high energy.

Speaker 5 (08:11):
The Gulf was top draw, so all round, fantastic KPMJ
Well done everyone.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
How was your week?

Speaker 3 (08:22):
I had a fun week at Travelers. I got to
do some stuff with travelers early on like Tuesday, Wednesday, Wednesday, Thursday,
whenever that was. I did a panel discussion with Scottie Shuffler,
Justin Thomas, and Keegan Bradley, and they.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Were quite cool. Yeah, they were like funny.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
I know.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
I was like, what is happening here?

Speaker 3 (08:46):
Not to say that they aren't funny normally, but it's
just I don't know, it just the vibes were high,
the weather was beautiful, it was great.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
You were the Maybe I just yeah, I said, everybody at.

Speaker 5 (08:58):
Yeah, comfortable, you do have that thank you, thank you cousins.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Yes, yes, So that was fun.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
And then the next morning I moderated a panel with
our friend Mary Kate Morris, the friend.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
Of the pod.

Speaker 4 (09:14):
Oh sick okay did she sing?

Speaker 2 (09:19):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (09:20):
And it was also so it was it was Mary
Kate and it was her friend Bella Coppola, who was
also a Broadway star, and so so Bella sang something
from Smash the Musical, and then MK sang something from Waitress,
the Sarah Burrellas musical, and she sang the Wizard and
I from Wicked, and then the two of them sang

(09:40):
for Good and I had done my own makeup that morning,
and I don't know if I like my eyelash was
like poking my eyeball or something, but.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
I had like tears pouring out of my eyeball.

Speaker 3 (09:54):
Not because I mean it was obviously very emotional and
incredible and blows you away. But Dylan Dryer from The
Today Show was hosting the whole, like the overall host,
and she goes, she.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
Goes to me, are you okay?

Speaker 4 (10:06):
Are you?

Speaker 2 (10:07):
Is this so really emotional for you?

Speaker 3 (10:09):
It's like, I'm allergic to Connecticut. I don't know, something's
wrong with my eyeball.

Speaker 5 (10:15):
Oh I heard you got a massive stunning ivation.

Speaker 3 (10:18):
Yeah, apparently it went nuts obviously obviously. I mean, she's
so freaking good, both of them were. It was amazing.
It was just it was so fun. It's just so
fun to see the girl is taking over golf. It
was a women's day event. It was packed like three
hundred people, all women, and like Bella had really never

(10:39):
played golf before. It was her first time at a
golf tournament. And MK obviously is bringing her her twist
to golf. So I don't know, I just love to
see that development within our space. So yeah, So that
was the way and then the golf tournament, so h
Scotty played out of his mind the first two days.

(11:01):
Sam Burns called it video game golf. And in the
end it came down to a playoff between Scottie Scheffler
and Victor Hobland and everything's going fine, blah lah lah.
And yesterday the heavens opened up and it poured like

(11:23):
no tomorrow. And I'm sure you guys haven't been similar
to say, yeah, well, I was like, oh, I don't
need my rain jacket, it's just going to rain for
a second. The day before it had rained for a
couple of minutes. It was fine, no big deal. This
was not forecasted like this. We weren't planning for this,
and it it was why. I mean, they were having
to get out there and squeege the greens and they

(11:43):
had to take everybody off the golf course because of lightning,
la la la, and then because of all of those
lovely things, we ended up having to come back Monday morning.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
I haven't done that in a long time, to do
a Monday best.

Speaker 4 (11:56):
I haven't done that in a long time. I know.

Speaker 5 (11:58):
It doesn't happen very often, honest, which it is quite
shocking to me. I thought it would happen. You think
it would happen more often.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
I was really impressed with the fans at Travelers, the
fact that they came back.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
Monday morning about this.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
Yeah, and they were all weak, they were out of
their minds.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
Amazing.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
The Norwegian soccer fans were all there for Victor and
Christopher ate so so cool.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
But the fact that I mean they were flowing through
the gates this morning to see the playoff, I yeah,
that's awesome.

Speaker 5 (12:30):
I was actually looking at it. I know it's I
know it's a well attended spot anyway on.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
Tour, but I was like, holy shit, that is so cool.

Speaker 5 (12:38):
And then you're right this morning, like the way they
showed up, I was, I didn't think there would be
anybody there.

Speaker 4 (12:43):
That's awesome.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
No, No, Usually for a Monday play if you have
like three clappers that are members of the club and
happened to stumble past. This was people. People made plans
for their Monday morning. So I kind of wish that
the playoff went a little bit longer so they could
enjoy it just a little bit more, that they had
made the effort. Yeah, I can't believe Scotty missed that putt.

(13:05):
I know it was, Yeah, it was. It was crazy.
But I'm really happy for Victor and selfishly for me.
The last time Victor won, I also did his Winter interview,
so I feel like, you know, Vic and I have
got something going here. We've got some good rapport, good mojo.

Speaker 4 (13:24):
Yeah, good connection. Yeah, you do have good. Actually, he's
such an interesting dude. I love him.

Speaker 5 (13:30):
I think I was such an interesting cat. I just
like want to give my a hug. I don't know why.
He's just like cheesy and like smiley, and I just
want to.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
Like, I just find it, like you just you gravitate
towards him. Yeah. I love his mom.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
His mom is Russian and she reminds me a lot
of my mom. So we we speak Russian and yeah,
very cute. And it was the first time she'd ever
seen him win in person.

Speaker 4 (13:54):
Oh no ship, Oh cool?

Speaker 3 (13:56):
Yeah yeah, so that was really that was really special. Yeah, uh,
let's see what else. It was actually a very impressive week.
I thought for Wyndham Clark, who coming off the US Open,
he had committed to playing in this, I think that
he got a lot of start. He got starts there
as an amateur you know, he has a long standing

(14:19):
history with Travelers, so he committed to playing and show up.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
Showed up. He said that he was he'd been drinking
a lot of wine in New York.

Speaker 6 (14:28):
City, grape Grape opened some grape bruh. Anyway, I did
go up to him and I said, how was the
greape window?

Speaker 4 (14:44):
My golf is just be cool, a normal.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
Why do we have to do this whatever?

Speaker 5 (14:50):
It was such an odd bunch. I know I'm including this,
so I'm not I'm not.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
Sh Yeah, I would include you, yes, for sure.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
Yeah, but he played really well. He was like, yeah,
contending down the stretch and then you hit a couple
of balls in the water. But I was yeah, I
was really impressed with the fact that he not only
showed up but played well. And Scottie he's still another
runner up finished for Scotty. Well.

Speaker 5 (15:27):
On that note, then I should probably wanted a couple
of other players at my tornament that I was there for.

Speaker 4 (15:31):
It's sixteen hours a day.

Speaker 3 (15:32):
Four.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
Imagine talking about the.

Speaker 4 (15:37):
Well, I feel bad now that I've not mentioned other players.
You did?

Speaker 5 (15:41):
No, I interviewed, can we I want to talk about
Anison Lee because I think she's Okay, she had a
great week last week, and I'll talk about Alison and
I just love Allison, like I feel like I've got
a bit closer since we've both had kiddos. And Levi
is absolutely massive. He's such a chunk. He's like taller than.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
Kai but amazing, a very large person. Trade. Yeah, dude,
I was.

Speaker 5 (16:02):
I was talking on the range yesterday and I had
to keep like like that, like my neck is hurting.
He's massive and he played college at Colorado State actually,
so he was like, where did you Where do you live?

Speaker 4 (16:13):
I'm like a bar of basketball golf?

Speaker 3 (16:17):
Yeah close, Sorry, I couldn't have imagined that someone.

Speaker 5 (16:24):
No, No, he's massive. And he was like, oh, well
I went to Colorado Stair. I was like, literally, that's
where we live. Like the golf course that they play
at is the one that I've just joined Harmony, which
is obviously like just like two miles away from my
house or Harmony.

Speaker 4 (16:39):
Oh my god, dude, that is the funniest ship ever.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
I love that. That is what I said. That's my
mate so much.

Speaker 3 (16:49):
It is so so glad that you got that.

Speaker 5 (16:53):
Harmony Mary Kate, What is the other what it's like
or something? Oh my god, dude, that is one of
the funniest scenes of all time.

Speaker 2 (17:08):
And anyway, not many things so awkward if you're like,
why is she doing that?

Speaker 5 (17:12):
Okay, no, no, no, no, no, no, that was That
was ballsy.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
That's one of my favorite scenes in any film.

Speaker 3 (17:19):
It's you know, when you have like an inside jet
to yourself and you just can't help but more vomit
it no matter what.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
That's one of them.

Speaker 4 (17:27):
Oh Kieren, that was I needed that. That was really funny.

Speaker 2 (17:31):
Can we clip that?

Speaker 4 (17:33):
That was good?

Speaker 5 (17:34):
Harmony.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
That's a good one.

Speaker 4 (17:38):
Oh dude, I'm sweating for nothing.

Speaker 2 (17:40):
Stop. Oh god, that was. Now I'm going to think
about what I talk about Harmony golf club? Is that now?
Golf club?

Speaker 4 (17:51):
Anyway?

Speaker 2 (17:52):
Oh, it's funny. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (17:54):
So anyway, so I joined and he that's where they
practiced that so we bomb over it. And then he
was telling me some good pizza places because.

Speaker 4 (18:03):
We still don't know the area.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
So there we go. So glad I talked about it. Now,
how was her week? Oh god?

Speaker 5 (18:14):
Anyway, she yeah, she did great, top ten. She's one
round away from winning. I'm telling you right now, she's
seeing it's so good. Like I just want to swing
it like her what for one day?

Speaker 2 (18:24):
But yeah, wasn't she injured or something too?

Speaker 4 (18:27):
She was pregnant?

Speaker 2 (18:28):
No, no, I know she was pregnant, but there was
something else. Maybe you're making it up.

Speaker 5 (18:39):
She used to sugar with the driver as I'm sugaring
with my chipping, if that's what you're getting at. But
that was what I thought that there was some she
had She had a saw neck this week?

Speaker 4 (18:48):
Is are we talking about?

Speaker 2 (18:49):
Yeah, there was something about a recent.

Speaker 5 (18:53):
Yeah oh yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, no, she she sat
on it funny and like literally was moving like a robot.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
Okay, see I'm not making things up.

Speaker 5 (19:00):
No, you know, Okay, the news the transcripts, Yeah, well done. Yeah.
So she's one way, one win away as well. So
I just wanted to mention that I wanted to give
Alison in love because I always like to give the
mums some love.

Speaker 2 (19:14):
So there we go.

Speaker 3 (19:15):
Anyone else you'd like to mention from the KPMG before
we move on? No, okay, did you watch any of
the of the travelers? Did you see any of the travelers?

Speaker 2 (19:29):
Not really, I'll tell you why.

Speaker 5 (19:30):
I'll tell you why because tell me, literally we're either
on air or we're watching the LPGA because we need
to see it because of the way that it was
on TV. So I actually physically had to watch watch
it on TV, so we couldn't really watch the Travelers,
which was a bit of a shame.

Speaker 4 (19:43):
So I enjoyed watching that.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
Then.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
You know what I think ended up being a great
thing is with our weather delay. Yes it was KPMG
got back on NBC and you got to finish the
tournament on NBC.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
Yeah, it was a great, great thing for the women's game. Yeah, amazing.
Everybody was happy.

Speaker 5 (20:02):
Everyone was happy. Everyone was happy. Right right here? What
have you got coming up this week?

Speaker 2 (20:08):
Right here?

Speaker 4 (20:10):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (20:11):
We gay? Uh i?

Speaker 3 (20:14):
Okay, So Andrew was supposed to come to New York
City to meet me. He was going to be on
the East Coast working, and that trip didn't end up happening.
So originally I had made plans because he was going
to be in the city to go and see Ben Rector.
Do you know who Ben Rector is. He's an artist, musician.

(20:35):
You've heard some of his music, Okay, I'll send it
to you. He's one of my favorite, favorite favorite artists,
and he every once in a while does these concerts
with full orchestras, and it's like a combination of his
amazing pop songwriter style with a giant orchestra. And I've

(20:59):
seen him do it live once actually at the Denver
Symphony and it was amazing. It was with another one
of my favorite artists who I love, Cody Fry. But
this is just a Ben Rector show. He's doing it
at the New York City Philharmonic one night only. Wow,
And I was like, like when this was like kind

(21:20):
of a last minute show he.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
Got this opportunity to do it.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
He put it on Instagram's like hey, I'm going to
be at the New York phil Harmonic. And then I
was just coming off of Travelers. Andrew was theoretically going
to be here. Great, I'm getting a ticket. I barely
got a ticket. They sold out in two seconds and
Andrew's not here now, but I'm going to go still.

(21:43):
All my friends, no one is available or cares about
Ben Rector, so it's either unavailable or doesn't want to go,
which is fine, but I'm going to go.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
I can yeah, good see you.

Speaker 5 (21:56):
I enjoyed doing things by my so I just wanted
to thing I enjoy doing things by myself.

Speaker 2 (21:59):
By that.

Speaker 4 (22:00):
Actually, no, I don't.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
That's a lie. I was there to say, you hate
no most No, it's bad.

Speaker 5 (22:06):
It's bad like me and I've talked about it, like
I literally can't be it's really bad.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
So we were saying this, I like, what are you
that's like? I love doing things by myself.

Speaker 4 (22:17):
No, I tell you what I do like doing by myself.

Speaker 5 (22:19):
This is this because I do need to do this
a bit more because it does reset me. I really
enjoy going to run and bar and no one's going
to talk to me, and I enjoy having glass of
wine and did it on my own at the bar.

Speaker 4 (22:29):
I do enjoy that.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
But I see, I always worry about doing that because
somebody might talk to me.

Speaker 5 (22:36):
Well I know, and that would be hot face. No,
I know, and I've been caught in that before. But
I put on my face to like, don't fucking talk
to me, Like I have this certain face like just
don't fuck with me.

Speaker 4 (22:48):
Yeah, And so I make sure I kind of do
that first.

Speaker 2 (22:54):
I like that every once in a while. It's a
very situational thing.

Speaker 4 (22:56):
I'm more of it.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
I like a cafe, like a coffee shop, m something. Anyway,
I'm gonna go sping Rector tonight at the New York
fell Harmonic. I'm really excited about that. And then I'm
gonna go home.

Speaker 2 (23:06):
Finally.

Speaker 3 (23:07):
I've been on the road for two weeks, which you
can relate to between the US Open and travelers.

Speaker 2 (23:12):
But I had a really fun time in New York.
I got to see a bunch of my friends.

Speaker 3 (23:16):
In between stuff because I was only working the NBC show,
which was on Saturday Sunday, and then I had to
be on course or I was in Connecticut for the
tournament Wednesday Thursday.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
As well, but whatever.

Speaker 3 (23:26):
In between all of that, I got to see people,
which is you know, I feel like my my friend
heart cup is filled, which is nice.

Speaker 4 (23:37):
Yeah, good for you. I feel like New York loves you.

Speaker 2 (23:41):
I love New York. I always say I feel the
city that made me.

Speaker 4 (23:46):
Yeah, I feel like loves you.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
I would live here if you know. My husband liked it.
But we also our lives are so set up to
be living in California because all our family is there,
so it's it's nice to get time here.

Speaker 2 (24:05):
I get my fix and then they can go home.
And I love and what are your big fourths?

Speaker 4 (24:20):
Throwing a party new friends. Yeah, yeah, it's so nice.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
You guys are so good about that type of stuff.
I love.

Speaker 5 (24:28):
I love hosting and I actually put buffet and like
I'll make cool like treats and stuff for the kids.
Two of my best friends at home, the well they
married Kelly and Kelly, the Kelly's, the Kelly's, they taught
me how to host years ago because they are phenomenal
on it, like the little intricate details.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
They Okay, what's what's Kelly When I want to hosting
a roast dinner or Christmas dinner? Like, well, you're not
going to make a roast dinner for for jo I
thought you're asking what she's good at.

Speaker 3 (24:56):
No, you said, they taught you how to host. So
what's Kelly? Like little things one on one, just hosting
a party so that our listeners can cannot can.

Speaker 5 (25:06):
Say welst like a Kelly, Like just you know, nibbles
and stuff like you makee from scratch and then like
I'll probably do like proper if someone's a gin and tonic,
I'll do it properly and like have the cucumber or.

Speaker 2 (25:19):
Have the you know.

Speaker 5 (25:20):
It's just little things like that, really or like I'll
probably make some what else will I probably do? I
guess the party is different from hosting it, like I
take more care in like a dinner party, for making
dinner for people, for making like a roast dinner for people.
I'll make it more like more detailed effort.

Speaker 2 (25:36):
That makes sense, Yeah, but you still bring the details
to a party, party or not.

Speaker 5 (25:42):
No one's gonna be drinking out of red No one's
gonna be drinking out red solo carts. Put it that way,
like I'll be giving them proper adult stuff.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
The things like that.

Speaker 4 (25:50):
I don't know, just I just enjoy hosting. Just little things, still,
little nugs here and there. So we're hosting that.

Speaker 5 (25:57):
So I'm going to buy TV because we want one
in the gym anyway, So I'm gonna buy TV this
week so we can have the World Cup games on
outside and then we've got the forty.

Speaker 4 (26:09):
Was good.

Speaker 5 (26:11):
It's just yeah, we did go. We obviously got out
the group stages, which was great. And I also got
to wash it because I finished on Saturday at four
and it started for and then I didn't do my
hit on sixteen until six, so actually works out great.
So me and Carara were just watching in the compound.
But yeah, so that's why I'm going going to buy
TV so we can have it on outside so everyone
can watch the Putty and yeah what else and Bounce

(26:34):
House and all that crap. So yeah, we're we're hosting
Fourth of July. And then they've got fireways down the
reservoir so we'll be able to sit in the garden
and watch them.

Speaker 4 (26:42):
That's nice, Yeah, super nice. So what are you doing
fourth of July?

Speaker 2 (26:46):
We always got a Lake Tahoe. We have a lot
of fam goes up.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
Yeah, yeah, I think that last year I was recording
our pod from from Lake Tahoe.

Speaker 4 (26:57):
Yeah. How the hell is it July? By the way,
like how I feel like this is going so fast?

Speaker 3 (27:03):
It's crazy, crazy crazy, And then I have these to
the Tahoe Celebrity Tournament.

Speaker 2 (27:10):
Then that's the next thing I'm working. Oh nice, Okay,
that's good. You like that.

Speaker 4 (27:17):
It's cool of them.

Speaker 5 (27:18):
Yeah, I enjoy watching it. Is That golf course looks
really pretty as well, by the way, is it like
tree lined Parkland golf course?

Speaker 3 (27:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (27:25):
Yeah, it's fine. Yeah yeah, and then you get a
little you get the lake view.

Speaker 5 (27:29):
But yeah, to be come honest with you here, I'm
very excited to be home. I have not I've literally
been home two weeks since middle of March. So I'm
off now for like two and a half months, and
I cannot wait. I'm gonna go plant shopping. I'm going
to get the nursery done. I'm going to build stuff.
I'm going to organize stuff. Like we're gonna We're gonna
have to get going a bit here because we've not
We've done nothing, so we need to start getting a

(27:50):
move on to.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
Get ready for the baby, for the bed bear.

Speaker 5 (27:54):
How's Carlber She's doing great, Yeah, she's she's beeening great,
doing great.

Speaker 4 (28:00):
Yeah, she's crushing it.

Speaker 5 (28:02):
Like I forget she's pregnant sometimes.

Speaker 2 (28:06):
Yeah, like I completely forget.

Speaker 5 (28:08):
So I look at a massive belly, but she'sn' even
that big really, actually she's not big. She isn't nice,
she's getting uncomfortable. So but now I'm just excited to
hang with the fan and just do normal things for once.
And I've obviously got my eyebrows bucks in. I've got
patial bucks in. This week is in much need of

(28:32):
for the party.

Speaker 3 (28:34):
Yes, I'm getting my hair done next week too. M hm,
get excited for the summer. You know, you're a little refresh.

Speaker 2 (28:41):
Yeah, just a little little puff for whatever you call it.

Speaker 5 (28:44):
And we're actually going we're going to what do you
call it, a little spark a little splat, I don't
know anyway, but we're also going to just ignore a
little sparkle, like a vamp what do you call it?

Speaker 4 (28:58):
Just when you get your hair done, make you feel better, you'll.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
Know, I don't know, just a makeover, a touch up, no, just.

Speaker 5 (29:08):
Like a spruce spruced up.

Speaker 3 (29:12):
Yeah, yes, the same thing as as a touch pup. Yeah, okay,
I like sparkle though. Let's go with that, okay, and
we are.

Speaker 5 (29:22):
I'm actually going to take Kai to hit golf balls
on Wednesday at SO and then probably do a pool
after that. So I'm going to see how that goes.
It could go horrifically bad. Also it could be very cute.
So it's either going to be either one. So we'll
see if I'm there for five seconds or whether we're
there for half an hour. But I'm actually going to

(29:44):
take Ki for the first time to go and hit
some golf balls, so that would be fun. That's so cute,
and I'm golf bag. Yeah, that's Scotty content.

Speaker 2 (29:52):
Dude. Did you see Bennett on the range with scot.

Speaker 4 (29:56):
I loved it.

Speaker 2 (29:58):
It was so cute, You're like, this is my life.
It was so cute. But he was such a media
with him. I was this morning for the playoff.

Speaker 3 (30:09):
I was talking to Meredith, Scotti's wife, and she was
with the babies, and she said that the kids were
tired this morning because well Bennett, especially because they were
up late last night because of the late finish. And
she said the only thing that got Bennett out of
bed was saying, do you want to go watch daddy
play golf? And he immediately popped up and got out

(30:30):
of bed to go to get ready.

Speaker 2 (30:31):
Horrible, isn't it? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (30:33):
So it was so cute. It really did melt my heart.
I was dead cute. So that's what my vision is
in my head visioning. But I don't know if that's
exactly how it's going to go.

Speaker 3 (30:43):
Well, I think that, you know, it doesn't have to
be the first time, lucky.

Speaker 2 (30:48):
It seems like.

Speaker 4 (30:49):
Bennett, No, no, does that Ben Bennett.

Speaker 2 (30:51):
Knew the drill, like he knew to bring his clubs over. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (30:55):
Yeah, so I'll let you know how that goes?

Speaker 2 (30:58):
Okay, great, hopefully go It'll be great by the way,
So it'll be great.

Speaker 5 (31:01):
So when's the next time you're working, Well, next time
I'm traveling, well, I'm doing a couple of things in August,
but not for like a week.

Speaker 4 (31:09):
It's like a day in, day out thing.

Speaker 5 (31:11):
And then next time i'm working well, technically Vice Captain
soul home, that's the next time I'm oh, my gosh, yeah,
I'm literally having two a half moment stuff and I
cannot mate.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
That's great.

Speaker 5 (31:20):
Yeah, so I'm going to work on my chipping is
definitely what I'm going to do. So I'll be basically,
I'll be absolutely fine by the time I come back
on TV more chipping.

Speaker 3 (31:34):
You know what, I think that that was It was
good of you to make yourself more relatable to your audience.

Speaker 2 (31:40):
Thank you. Yeah, very nice of you. Indeed, thank you.

Speaker 4 (31:44):
I enjoyed doing it.

Speaker 5 (31:45):
I thought it was funny. I love taking the piss
out myself. I think it's hilarious. Get await, I know,
and I love taking the piss out everyway. It's just
a very British thing. So I'm glad that the American
audience enjoyed it a little bit.

Speaker 2 (31:57):
We did we do?

Speaker 5 (31:58):
So?

Speaker 2 (32:00):
All right?

Speaker 4 (32:00):
Do you have a shush?

Speaker 6 (32:03):
Hm?

Speaker 2 (32:04):
What happened to me this week?

Speaker 4 (32:10):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (32:11):
I do?

Speaker 4 (32:11):
Actually tell us?

Speaker 2 (32:15):
It's really gross.

Speaker 4 (32:18):
Oh I'll just I'll just I'll mellow it down.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (32:21):
Basically, the toilets.

Speaker 5 (32:23):
And the compound stopped working and there was one poor
loop and that's all you need to know.

Speaker 4 (32:27):
So I would literally be drop.

Speaker 5 (32:29):
I drove to the golf course, go to the bathroom.

Speaker 3 (32:36):
Truly, nothing worse is anyone out there.

Speaker 4 (32:41):
Details just awful because.

Speaker 5 (32:44):
There's so many people. I mean, there's loads of bizarre
and people are there for like eighteen hours a day
because they bust their ass, Like, just get.

Speaker 4 (32:50):
The toilets working would be probably great.

Speaker 2 (32:54):
They literally bust their ass.

Speaker 5 (32:56):
Lich Lit, you're on Kira, don't waste this, don't waste
them all on me?

Speaker 4 (33:02):
Please, don't who else?

Speaker 2 (33:04):
Do I have?

Speaker 4 (33:05):
What else?

Speaker 2 (33:06):
Just listen to me.

Speaker 4 (33:08):
The person you're gonna be, the rando you're gonna be
sat next to you tomorrow in the concert.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
I'm not going to talk to them. I'm gonna put
on my bed. Bitch. If they say, oh my god,
I have a dare for you.

Speaker 5 (33:21):
If they ask what your name is, You've got to
say no, just kidding just gets in You don't know,
I have rude. So yeah, just I feel bad because
like people don't understand like how hard these people work,

(33:41):
Like just just it would be nice if things.

Speaker 2 (33:44):
Work, to put it that way.

Speaker 5 (33:45):
So it was just a bit annoying really, Like whenever
I needed to go to the loo, I had to
like drive all the way into the golf course, which
was annoying, but I gotta do what you gotta do.
I wasn't gonna go there, So, yeah, what's your shish
of the week.

Speaker 3 (34:01):
Well, I, you know, logistics are hard, and I think
that we were talking about how uh there's so many
amazing fans that were coming to the Travelers Championship, and
it just resulted in a lot of traffic and crazy
trying to get to the course, which I was on

(34:21):
the one hand really impressed by and then the other hand,
sitting in an hour of traffic.

Speaker 2 (34:25):
What is tough? So is what it is.

Speaker 3 (34:29):
You know again, it's a nice neighbor, and it does.

Speaker 5 (34:34):
I think it's because we do it week in a
week out, and it's this happens a lot. So we
just get by that by the middle of the season,
we're like, oh, you.

Speaker 3 (34:41):
Know, yeah, like why isn't there another way? Why isn't
there a special Although they did have I thought it
was kind of cute. They had like a player's only
lane to drive down. Oh that's nice, which that was
actually a pretty good idea. Yeah, it's like, excuse me,
where is my curated.

Speaker 4 (34:59):
Lan former Miss americanly.

Speaker 2 (35:01):
Yeah, how do you guys not know?

Speaker 3 (35:04):
But I will say our our production manager went above
and beyond to get me in and out of the
course because it's coming from the city and I had
car service and they were making sure that a car
was there for me, and yeah, just absolutely smashed it.
So yeah, the people that we work with are pretty amazing.
We have we have a very great, great team on

(35:26):
the road, it kind of turns into this family, you know,
us against the world, everybody as mad as it has
to survive together because you know, sometimes the twist shows
out and you just gotta.

Speaker 5 (35:36):
Yeah, everyone's just back, like it's kind of weird, you know, Like,
which is amazing. It's like, right, I don't know, like
when my haunted house, like you know, then Alex text
me just come and stay in our.

Speaker 4 (35:48):
Hotel, will book your room.

Speaker 5 (35:49):
You know, it's just like, will help you know you're
not working for us this week, will help you?

Speaker 2 (35:52):
Yeah, because so yeah, no, I would agree with you.

Speaker 5 (35:57):
Cool, Yeah, that's what you're going to go have me today.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
I'm a phraid.

Speaker 4 (36:02):
Yeah, I think saying a bit Todd. Have an amazing
fourth for July.

Speaker 2 (36:08):
Thank you. I actually love Fourth for July.

Speaker 4 (36:11):
I really do.

Speaker 3 (36:13):
America America two fifty oh yeah, just.

Speaker 5 (36:18):
Just yeah, I do forget that everyone gets into it,
but it's fun. You will get into it, and I
just I embrace it. Whenever there's day drinking, I embrace
so yeah.

Speaker 2 (36:28):
Yeah, obviously you love that type of holiday.

Speaker 4 (36:30):
Yeah, yeah I do. I'm going to be on the barbecue.

Speaker 5 (36:32):
I'm going to hopefully do some good feud for everyone,
and the kids will be all just running around and
we can drink and watch the football, so it'd be great.

Speaker 3 (36:40):
Okay, I won't be doing a great fear, but I'll
be doing all those other things.

Speaker 4 (36:43):
So okay, cool, okay. And I'll keep you posted on
the hit and balls.

Speaker 2 (36:51):
Okay. I can't wait to hear it. I need more
updates on your chipping.

Speaker 5 (36:59):
