Wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome back to Quiet Please.
Cura here, Mel here. So we are in the dog
(00:30):
days of summer now. It feels like everyone's living their
best lives.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
I know, are you still in Tahoe.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
I'm in Tahoe. I've been here for a while now.
It feels like a week maybe, oh no, five days, yeah,
and then I'm staying for another week for the American
Century coming up. Mmm.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
Is it hot?
Speaker 2 (00:55):
It's like seventy five and sunny. Perfect.
Speaker 4 (00:58):
Yeah, that's perfect. It's too hot here, Yeah, it's so
hot here. And it's like a dry heat as well,
so it's pretty hot, pretty hot. But no complaints, no complaints.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Okay, Well, we hope that everybody had a great July
fourth holiday. Mel, you said that you were going to
host this great party. So how was the party?
Speaker 3 (01:23):
Party was good?
Speaker 4 (01:24):
It was very tame, which was great, which was good.
We went over actually in the morning, we went over
to like our new neighborhood. We got kind of got
invited over for some like mimosas and donuts and stuff.
In the morning, as I was getting ready, we were
in a rush to leave. I was having a shower
and then my brain kicked into overdrive and I started
(01:46):
to clean the shower. It's like every single tile, to
which Carli was like europsycho. So I got bollocked for that.
And then we went to the Donu and Mimosa place.
I had a mimosa and then I got back and
I was like, just fancy a beer and She's like,
it's ten am.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
I was like, did I fall?
Speaker 2 (02:02):
Like, if it's one day, you've already had amus, You've
already crazacked. Deal.
Speaker 4 (02:06):
So then then I got a still look from Carly,
which I know I need no words, and I was like,
don't worry, I'm not gonna get drunk today. I think
she was only jealous because she can't drink yet obviously,
so I'm going to just play off as that. And
she's eight months pregnant, eight and a half months pregnant
in horrific heat.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
So I was very tame.
Speaker 4 (02:25):
Ki decided to be an a hole all day, which
was awesome. So I liked what a delight what day,
thank you, thank you for mummies. So yeah, I basically
was just trying to throw our meltdines all the time.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
But it was good. We had a great time. It's
nice to see everyone.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
I quite I'm kind of into my tame days nowadays,
so it was quite nice.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
And everyone's got kids. It was great. But yeah, we
had a great fourth jove, how about you.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
It was lovely. We spent it up here with family,
jumping into the lake, jumping into the pool, going on
haigs with Steve the dog, m h and oh. We
had a nice dinner lakeside, saw some fireworks. You know,
I love some Americana.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
I love a bit of fireworks. I'm not gonna lie.
And you guys go like full out.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
It was pretty well America to fifty.
Speaker 3 (03:14):
Oh yeah, I forget as.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
An English person, you're probably like, all right, talk to
me when you're a thousand years.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
Exactly like you still you sit in the womb, just
chill out like you guys are such babies. Yeah, wait
until you get to our age. But yeah, no, it's good. Listen,
it's a fun day. Everyone kind of guess up for
a don't they. So I'm always up for a party day?
Speaker 2 (03:35):
What is the English equivalent to the Fourth of July.
What's a day when everybody's like out and about in
a great mood, celebrating they've got some they've got they're
all getting together in their back gardens.
Speaker 4 (03:49):
Literally, any bank holiday, No, but there's got to be
like George's Day.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
What's that?
Speaker 4 (03:56):
I don't know, but I know that it's a day
it's about the flag. I'm presuming it's about England. That's
something I don't really know. We just we enjoy a
bank holiday's cure. If we have a Monday bank holiday,
it is the best era. Everyone does a barbecue, everyone
gets to the pub, everyone has their tops off.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
It's brilliant.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
So especially holiday that does that just mean the bank
is closed?
Speaker 3 (04:18):
I don't know. We just have a lot of them.
We have like maybe five of them a year.
Speaker 4 (04:21):
So it's either on a Friday or Monday, so it's
bank holiday weekend.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
So it's like Labor Day weekend or Memorial Day weekend.
Speaker 4 (04:28):
But we have a lot of them. We have like
two in May. Like, yeah, it's fun. It's literally the
best weekends ever because everyone's just stuff for it, especially
if the weather's great, which it has been in the UK.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
So okay, okay, well, speaking of the UK, should we
talk about.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
The foot eg oh my god, please tell me you
watched it. I bet you didn't. I mean, okay, I'm
going to give you a brief explanation.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
Give me the play by blay.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
Okay, first of.
Speaker 4 (04:58):
All, for anyone who doesn't know England played Mexico, okay,
round of those I knew a round of six suit no,
round of sixteen. So we beat it's round of sixteen.
So now we're three to the quarter finals. All right, Okay, sorry,
it's game play.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
That's why I'm doing a summary. So listen.
Speaker 4 (05:16):
We so we're getting it's got played in Mexico City,
which is called the Azteca Stadium. Yeah I'm not probably
not saying that right anyway.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
It's a really hard.
Speaker 4 (05:26):
Stadium to play in if you're not Mexican because out
of like eighty eight games, they've only lost twice.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
It's like a place where they just don't lose.
Speaker 4 (05:36):
It's an altitude, it's like the atmosphere there is just
like electric and it's just like the fair play to
the Mexican fans, they just live for that shit.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
I mean, it's unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
Just as a pause the have you seen all the
stories about the Mexican fans that figure out I think
it was like the Mexico Colombia game. I don't know
if it was from this World Cup or some World
Cup where they figure out where the player is of
the opposing team are staying in the hotel and then
they all go outside and play music and playing fireworks
all night long so the team can't sleep. Yeah, it's brilliant.
Speaker 4 (06:11):
Love that energy, love that energy, just just be the you.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
Know that happened to the English players.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
Probably we got boode horrifically. I know when they came
they got booed. Well obviously. Anyway, it was probably one
of the best football games in a World Cup that
I've ever seen, Like we went down to ten men
with like basically forty minutes ago, and Mexico were just
at us. And then, honestly, I usually love to criticize
(06:39):
the England men's football team. We all do is Brits.
It's English people. It's just what we do. We lift
to dislike them off. They were unbelievable warriors like so
good and Jordan. Have you ever had Jordan Henson obviously
not okay, so.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
He didn't know that.
Speaker 5 (06:56):
Harry Guy, Henry, Harry Kane, Harry not Henry, not Henry.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
Okay starts at an age.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (07:03):
So Jordan Henderson he ghost for Hawks. I think he
played four minutes. He got booked while he wasn't even
on the pitch, and then when his celebrations he snapped
his wrists, so he's out for the rest of the
World Cup. He went over an advertising ball and slipped.
What an idiot I know, well they are anyway, it
(07:24):
was the greatest game ever I it was so cute.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
Kai was well into it.
Speaker 4 (07:29):
It was a shame it was it got delayed because
I put him in his Derby kit and it was
just brilliant and he could tell I was nervous with
the penalty.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
Did you see that video? He's just hugged me so
cute through your eyes, I know.
Speaker 4 (07:44):
So it was brilliant. Yeah, I really enjoyed it. It
was honestly, it was honestly one of the best matches
I've ever seen.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
It was just brilliant. So sorry Mexico, but now you've
lost three times there. It's a great nation of England.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
USA is playing Belgium? Is that today or whatever? It's
coming up? And the one guy, how.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
Do you not know in the USA playing?
Speaker 2 (08:08):
Dude, I have one sport. I can barely keep up
with it. That's true.
Speaker 4 (08:12):
Okay, yes they're playing tonight.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
Okay, so when you guys listen to this, it will
it will all have already happened. But the whole red
card thing a jig that was that was crazy.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
Do you want to summarize that one or do you
want me to do it?
Speaker 2 (08:30):
You do it as are actually know?
Speaker 3 (08:32):
I don't actually because I'm so confusing.
Speaker 4 (08:34):
But basically, he got a red card and it's been
revoked and he's on a suspended thing, so basically he's
going to miss I think, I don't know, don't act
quote on it. I can't be bothered to read it.
It's stupid. I've never heard anything so stupid in my life,
so I can't I can't even be bothered to read it.
But basically he's got a suspended red card.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
Well, my understanding is that because he got the red
card at the last game that he wasn't able to
he wasn't going to be able to play in this game.
But now he is available for this game because the
red card was rescinded, suspended, whatever the bomage is. It's
I kind of think it's it's like a slippery slope.
There's bad ref calls all the time. So even if
(09:14):
it was incorrect.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
It wasn't a red card.
Speaker 4 (09:18):
Put it that way. I watched the game, it was
not record. I don't think it was a red card.
Speaker 2 (09:22):
Okay, well then then I don't know what we're arguing.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
We're talking about that because it's the first time ever
you've had a red card, but then you can play
the next game.
Speaker 3 (09:29):
Like the whole point of having a.
Speaker 4 (09:30):
Red it just is what it is, like, it's destroy
doesn't World Cups before?
Speaker 3 (09:34):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (09:34):
Yeah, yeah, that's what I'm saying. So that's why people
are getting pissed that like it it happens. It's like
a part of the whole. It's part of sports.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
Yeah yeah.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
So yeah, Trump is claiming he's involved. It just then
turns into this whole drama. I know.
Speaker 4 (09:49):
Not This is why women need to run organize organizations.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
Yeah seriously, I mean that is why women need to
run everything and.
Speaker 4 (09:58):
Anyway, honestly, so, yeah, you need to watch that game tonight.
That it's going to be a game.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
You know, we're gonna watch it. We're gonna watch it.
That's fun.
Speaker 3 (10:05):
Okay, so we can talk about it.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
And by we are going to watch it, Andrew will
be watching it, and I will have real housewives on.
Speaker 3 (10:12):
The brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
Soccer is just so boring. It takes forever the only
sport time.
Speaker 4 (10:26):
How can you say golf is not boring and football
is like football is ninety minutes. Like, okay, well, I
know it's it's one of the greatest games ever football.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
I bet you if I understood soccer a little bit
more than maybe I were into it or if I
had grown up playing it. But because I know golf
and play golf, golf is interesting to me because it's
relatable to me, whereas soccer I never had the opportunity
to play.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
So I'm just also not sure.
Speaker 4 (10:52):
You're like you have a football mentality, you know, so
that supposed to me, Well, I just don't.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
You don't have to get hit, and like, why would
I get hitting.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
I'm so fast that nobody would ever catch me.
Speaker 3 (11:06):
Oh, you're quite fast. I've literally never seen you run.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
I am a good little sprinter at long distances, and
they would never catch me in a in a like
a short me to race shut up? Five me is
it's gone bye bye? Yeah, but but the stamina goes
down pretty quickly.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
Does it.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
Do you even run?
Speaker 3 (11:30):
I bet you know. I thought you would run. I
feel like you would be okay running.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
Yeah, I'm like generally athletic. I don't know why I'm
getting so much hate from you, just because it's fun
for me, Okay, Yeah, I don't want to get hit. Definitely.
I would be like I would take it personally. I
would be like, yeah, that was so rude. Why can't
we need words to settle this discourse?
Speaker 3 (11:55):
That's what I mean.
Speaker 4 (11:56):
Yeah, you can just like brush it off and to
get you know, I would take it so perth hold
aggress for the rest of my life.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
Yeah yeah, yeah, that sort of thing. Yeah, which would
go maybe golf is better for me.
Speaker 4 (12:06):
Yeah, maybe this is more isolated and you know you
don't get hit.
Speaker 3 (12:11):
Yeah yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (12:12):
Well watch the game tonight please as well as housewives,
because it's going to be a good game.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Yes, we'll do, we'll do. Shall we talk about the
land of golf?
Speaker 3 (12:30):
Sure?
Speaker 2 (12:31):
Okay? Well, first of all, I want to start with
this really quickly. With the LPGA, I don't understand why
there are two back to back majors with a week off,
a random week off, and what about the players that
like to play the week before an actual like a
literal actual major. That's weird to me, Like, shouldn't there
be a French Open or a scott or something in
(12:54):
Europe the week before well legitimate major, yes, for the
opportunity to play if they want, because there's nothing like
that in the men's game, where there's not somewhere to play.
Speaker 4 (13:06):
Yes, we've talked about in the schedule, and the annoying
thing is it goes KPMG obviously this week half, then
it goes eavym which is a bitch to get to,
and then it's a week half and then it's Scottish
and British, So like, what do players do in that
kind of limbo week.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
It's really weird. It's really weird.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
I also don't understand why you would schedule two majors.
Speaker 4 (13:28):
Back to back, back to back. Yeah, I know, I agree. Yeah,
we've talked about it for a while and I know
the Olympics.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
Has it always been this way?
Speaker 3 (13:37):
Well, maybe not always.
Speaker 4 (13:38):
No, we used to always play I can't remember, but
I knew that there was always a limbo week after
Evan and then it was like Scottish because we used
to have I swear no, that was after the British
the Irish. Yeah, it's a weird week after EVM as well.
It's it's so weird, like what do players do?
Speaker 2 (13:55):
Yeah, and this is like the height of the season.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
I know, I know, I know. It's a great point.
I think.
Speaker 4 (14:03):
I mean, yeah, we've talked about it. So hopefully Craig
is going to sort it out because at Craig. Yeah, now,
we used to have the week before. I thought we
used to have an event the week before, so I remember,
like that was your last event to qualify for the
British and I remember it being a week before every
n I remember going to MVY and I'm swear it
was so. Yeah, hopefully they stort out because it's weird.
(14:26):
It's really weird.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
Well, I just think twofold players often like to play
the week before a major to get their momentum up,
or it's nice to have the week before to kind
of build anticipation for ABI.
Speaker 4 (14:41):
Yeah, and it's a good opportunity for actually playing in Europe,
as you just said earlier, because one you can climatize too.
It'd be great for the l T as well, like
if there was some coach sanction or something.
Speaker 3 (14:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
Yeah, well it's like the Scottish Open for the men
is the week before the Open Championship.
Speaker 4 (14:56):
Mm hmm, well so is ours, but we have a
week off as well in between. So literally you play
major week off major week off, Scottish Major.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
I understand that. I'm just saying that similar to the
Scottish British, there should be a French Yes, yes, yes, yes,
wherever l e T CO sanctioned event. Because the Scottish
is the cos ancient DP World Tour event. I think
that works for everybody. You get some different names in
(15:23):
and if you don't want to play, great, If you do,
you do. If you want to go be Charlie Hall
and be fabulous at Wimbledon, fantastic, she was.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
Yes, so we'll transition to that now. That's what I
really want to talk about. But yeah, that schedule, it
was weird. I was looking up, you know, list this
week's winners. I was getting ready for the pod and
I was like, this is strange, but yeah, but.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
It is strange.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
Lots of golfers were on site at Wimbledon.
Speaker 3 (15:53):
I've ever been to Wimbledon?
Speaker 2 (15:54):
Have you?
Speaker 3 (15:54):
I have a few times.
Speaker 4 (15:55):
Actually I got invited to sent to court a couple
of times, which is awesome for the final Federer and
Drokovich years ago.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
Cool.
Speaker 3 (16:04):
Yeah, I was.
Speaker 4 (16:04):
Pretty sweet, and I've been probably two or three more
times than that. It's so cool. It's one of the best.
If you ever get it, is you to a t
hera like you would, I.
Speaker 2 (16:14):
Know, it's dying together.
Speaker 4 (16:16):
You would thrive there. It's awesome. It's like one of
the coolest like experiences I've ever been to. And that
they've got the big mound, so like if you don't
even want to go in the courts, like you just
sit and there's massive TVs everywhere, strawberries and cream pims.
It's fabulous. It's honestly amazing. And you get super close
to like not the big stars, but like the other
(16:37):
players like on court like seventeen sixteen and all that.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
It's really really cool. It's a really cool experience.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
Did you see Kate Middleton? Was that one of the
smaller courts with the people. Yeah, I know what your
princess is doing.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
Well, sorry it's been busy.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
Wake up where Kate Middleton is sitting at Wimbledon.
Speaker 3 (16:58):
Yeah it's cool.
Speaker 4 (16:59):
I mean obviously the rule box is like Elite, which
is obviously what Charlie and all the Ryder cup Boys
went to. But yeah, no, very very cool, very cool,
and like the food and stuff is amazing, like if
you get invited, so like even though I wasn't in
the box, I was in the a box and I
went to Centacle and the food was top drall.
Speaker 2 (17:17):
Yeah, I saw lud zig Oldberg was there and he
did a like a tea time and stuff and cute. God,
it sounds so great.
Speaker 4 (17:26):
Yeah, literally you need to get you need to get together.
You would love it, Okay, you would love it.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
Sounds great. I love that they brought out the Ryder
cup Boys team here a Wrider Cup and well not
all of them, but I think it was Rory, Tommy, Justin,
Luke Donald, some of the assistant captains or Revice captains
and introduced them and of course Rory was wearing his
green jacket because why would you not two years in
(17:54):
a row, such a flex and the golfers or sorry. No.
The tennis players were all calling him out in their
in their speeches or interviews after they were being asked
about it. I think that that's cool that they interact
with the crowd that way.
Speaker 4 (18:08):
Yeah, yeah, it's really cool. It's really cool. I love Wimbledon,
Like I put it on first thing in the morning.
It's like that, only I don't really like I may
watch the US Open. Maybe I'm not really into the
friendship and everyone likes and pants over there.
Speaker 3 (18:21):
I'm like, no, but the wimbled and I love.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
I've been to the US Open once. I went last
year with Rolex, which was very kind of them to
have me. I know, watch, no, but I did enjoy
the tennis. I'm very open to a watch as well,
if they'd like to discuss that. But the Yeah, the
(18:46):
experience was really nice. It was like they have you
in a box and they bring out beautiful food and drinks,
and then they also have access to seats down you
know that are court side and you can choose where
you watch from staff and smical experience.
Speaker 4 (19:00):
Yeah, tennis is very cool. It's uh yeah, you yeah,
you have to go.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
It's awesome. It's awesome.
Speaker 2 (19:06):
Plus I like the tennis outfits.
Speaker 4 (19:11):
Well, I tell you what as well, it's become obviously
over the years. I'm talking about the actual tennis players
here because obviously in the raw box, flashy flash but
like Osaka, like she's Socca Osaka. Yeah, her fashion have
you seen her recently? It's unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
Obviously if I'm consuming any sports car.
Speaker 3 (19:35):
But it's like things like that, I'm like, that is
so fucking cool. I don't know.
Speaker 4 (19:38):
I just think it's cool. I like the traditions of
all Why I don't know, it's cool. I think that
that's so cool. Traditions are I mean some whatever, I
think a good tradition, some history. You know, you can't
you can't make a new tradition the hundreds of years
like that. So no, it takes a long time.
Speaker 3 (19:59):
We need to an invite me to go.
Speaker 4 (20:02):
Okay, actually, just making just a side note, you're like this,
I'm actually getting a suit made for lives wedding. I
just got measured all up on Wednesday. It's like a
mint green and high waisted.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
Yeah, my gosh, I cannot wait to see You're going
to look so good.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
Well, you can wear it. Tod In one of these
days exactly. That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (20:22):
I'm actually did you see Ludwig Oberg's girlfriend did?
Speaker 3 (20:26):
Okay?
Speaker 4 (20:26):
I literally it's that suit but a bit more like
my child's a bit not much ties have a bit tight,
but basically a best too.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
What I will buy vest.
Speaker 2 (20:40):
If you're doing a vest as well, I'm going.
Speaker 4 (20:41):
To do a best But that color. I was like,
oh my god, I need one in that color as well.
That color is so nice suit.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
Yeah, it's very summer suit, summer tans. I love that
they were both wearing that color. I like that they
kind of had their matchy matchy.
Speaker 4 (20:57):
So are key informed and then we can wear it
to modern next year to get invited.
Speaker 2 (21:00):
To the raw box, Okay, perfect. I need to start
thinking about what I'm gonna wear.
Speaker 4 (21:07):
I'm gonna have to do couple dinners in London, so
we're gonna have to get it out for that to do,
like a barbecue. We have to go to my mates
for a barbecue, go to the Kelly So you need
an invite. You need it, not an invite, you're getting invite,
but you need an outfit for that as well.
Speaker 2 (21:20):
Okay, like the Kellys are great hosts, great hosts, great hosts. Yeah,
I love I've been consuming a lot of you know,
European summer vacation content as well. And uh, last summer
we went to the UK and it was amazing. So
I'm a little sad, but also, yeah, this is not
(21:43):
going anywhere.
Speaker 4 (21:44):
Yeah, this is like the only time that I genuinely
really miss living in England is during the summer months
because everyone's happy.
Speaker 3 (21:51):
The weare.
Speaker 4 (21:51):
There's usually great everyone's outside, everyone's something like barbecues and
just I don't know, the barbecue food and stuff, and
there's lots.
Speaker 3 (21:59):
Of things going on.
Speaker 4 (22:00):
So this is like the wand everyone's so happy to
just go for an afternoon beer, nice a nice fizzy
cold beer.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
So yeah, you know who's enjoying some English summertime is
the Lowry's, the Donald's and the McElroy's. I think it's
those three families. Yeah, they're in Cornwall. They've been Cormll.
So what is a Cornwall? What's what's Cornwall?
Speaker 3 (22:26):
Okay?
Speaker 4 (22:26):
Coonmell is Okay, cool Well is a place in the UK.
It's like very southwest, so right in the tip. It's beautiful.
So there's a really famous place there called Padstow, which
has fantastic golf courses down there.
Speaker 3 (22:41):
It's really good.
Speaker 4 (22:41):
It's like the seaside, it's like the bougie it's like
the Hampton's.
Speaker 3 (22:45):
Oh in the UK. I would say, so I should
you would You would love Cornwall. Love Cornwall.
Speaker 4 (22:53):
We used to actually, me and my mates, me and
the Kedies us to go there quite a bit in
the summer.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
It's beautiful.
Speaker 4 (22:58):
It's a bitch to get to, but it's gorgeous Devon Cornwall.
Speaker 3 (23:00):
Cornwall is the Hampton.
Speaker 4 (23:02):
So I would say, like, pads to area, like there's
a there's a rick started famous restaurant there that like
my dad and his friends would always go to when
they used to pay golf done that, it's really cool.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
Yeah, you would love it.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
I've never done seaside England.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
Yeah, they go that side.
Speaker 4 (23:17):
Don't go like north, just go Okayn south Southwest, Southwest. Yeah,
so Cornwall, Devon, don't go to snooky New Key's used
to be great, but it's good when you're like nineteen twenty,
but it's not your vibe.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
I think you've told us some Nooki stories. Yeah, I
will endeavor to skip that.
Speaker 3 (23:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (23:38):
Yeah, but Cornwall is your vibe like beautiful cottages like
on the beach, like beautiful restaurants, bakeries like it's beautiful.
Speaker 3 (23:46):
It's really good golf there as well, really good golf.
Speaker 4 (23:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
How cute is it that these golf families together hang
out together.
Speaker 4 (23:55):
I know, I know, oh kid, I the same age,
haven't they as well? Like so they well, roughly so
they all are kind of like grown up together. So well,
my mates are retired, including me.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
Yeah, but it's just it's just cool that they're like,
their wives are friends, their kids all go to stay
here together and have grown up like you said, grown
up together. Yeah, and they travel together. Obviously those friendships
are very deep in the Ryder Cup mm hmm. But
I just I don't know. I think that that's a
really unique thing that's come about in the last ten
(24:30):
to fifteen years of this group of Euros.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
So yeah, I would agree, I would agree. I would agree.
Speaker 4 (24:38):
I mean, to be fair, I was thinking about then
there'd be a few of us from the European Soulheim
that we would definitely do a little a little golf trip.
I reckon, maybe I'll plan that for next year. So
we're doing Wimbledon then you can come on the girls
golf trip and in Cornwall.
Speaker 3 (24:54):
Yeah, we'll figure that out. Just remind me because I
will figure Okay, I know you will.
Speaker 2 (25:05):
You won't forget.
Speaker 3 (25:06):
It's fine.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
So I am working in the American Century this week.
Speaker 3 (25:11):
That's a fun event.
Speaker 4 (25:13):
Obviously Travis isn't gonna be that the ship I'm presuming
because you just got married.
Speaker 2 (25:17):
My god, Oh my god, my god. Okay, so what
is your what is.
Speaker 4 (25:22):
Your I did the summary football, this is now your
time to summarize, thank.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
You, thank you.
Speaker 3 (25:28):
The event.
Speaker 2 (25:29):
Okay. So Taylor Swift got married Travis Kelsey at Madison
Square Garden, uh with in an intimate setting with one
thousand guests. It was kind of like, oh my god,
if you aren't invited to this wedding, then you're such
a loser. Justin Thomas went, did he? Justin Thomas went
to the I texted him and I said, stf you
(25:53):
tell me everything, and he was like, I'll tell you
next time I see you.
Speaker 3 (25:57):
Did they want have to sign the NDA's and stuff?
Speaker 2 (25:59):
I think, yeah, they couldn't say anything ahead of time,
But then I think after they were allowed to post
photos not in the actual venue. Maybe that'll come later.
Oh my god. Yeah, I think he was the only
true golfer that went.
Speaker 3 (26:16):
Like, does he know Travis Send? He must know Travis.
Speaker 2 (26:18):
Yeah, okay, yeah, so Travis usually plays in the American Century,
but it seems like his wife, Taylor Swift, does not
want to honeymoon at the American Century Championship, and like,
I can't understand, which honestly offensive because it is great.
Speaker 3 (26:39):
Now, I know, but happy to just be like going
off and.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
Drink hogging beers. All yeah, exactly, fine, fair enough. Yeah,
she wants to be like fabulous on a yacht in
the Mediterranean somewhere. I mean, unoriginal, but understandable. So anyway, anyway,
Taylor swiamtft, you know it's it's I can't wait till
(27:05):
we hear more about the ideology behind why they made
this decision. Privacy seems like a big part of it.
But it's also like such a spectacle to shut down
the streets of Manhattan on a holiday weekend, the busiest
time of the year. So the theory is that you know,
(27:27):
she got they already were married however, long ago, and
then they just decided, let's just have a razer of
a party. Because we have so many friends and we
want to celebrate with them, and the safest option or
the most private option is MSG. But I don't know,
is MSG really more safe or more private than like
her house in Rhode Island or just a house middle
(27:50):
of which I kind of love that you can shut
down the streets of Manhattan on a holiday.
Speaker 4 (27:57):
Week you famous, Yeah, And I actually I'm here for it,
especially with Swifty, I'm actually here for it.
Speaker 2 (28:05):
I mean, of course I'm I'm no, I'm of course
I'm here. I'm here for anything.
Speaker 3 (28:09):
But it's just so like it's opposite to what they are.
Speaker 2 (28:13):
Like on the one hand, it's like they want privacy,
they want their thing, but on the other hand, it's
it's the most look at me, overtly just attention grabbing
thing possible on the planet. So I'm sure that her
publicist Tree Pain just completely masterminded this whole thing. And
there's a reason, and there there are things that we
don't understand yet, and then will one day they'll come
(28:35):
out in song lyrics and we'll understand the lore of MSG.
La la La. But in the meantime, I'm still kind
of like, you know, we're missing a piece here.
Speaker 3 (28:45):
Didn't she import like a castle, like a fake castle.
Speaker 2 (28:50):
I don't know that she imported it. I think she
might have borrowed it from a Broadway play brilliant. I
think it was just down the road. But yeah, there's
like a castle and a garden and it's Kryn.
Speaker 3 (29:01):
If you're going finded, oh shut up.
Speaker 2 (29:03):
Yeah, I honestly, it's kind of rude that I was.
I mean, I just do such great vibes, like you
don't even know.
Speaker 3 (29:11):
You also know you kind of know Travis, how you
hung out with them a little.
Speaker 2 (29:14):
I've like golf with Travis, like Travis is my guy.
Speaker 4 (29:19):
Weird anyway, I wonder where they are going to go
on their honeymoon, Sancha Pez, I don't know, Sue, Yeah,
I don't know. We never had a honeymoon, so I
don't know.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
You didn't know.
Speaker 3 (29:32):
Actually we went to the ATM GO event.
Speaker 2 (29:35):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (29:35):
Literally, it is literally what we did for a honeymoon.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
We technically didn't have a honeymoon because we got married
in September twenty nineteen and then COVID basically happened. Our
original planned was to go the following summer of twenty
twenty to Scotland, Ireland, England, play golf toward the countries.
All that that didn't happen. So now every trip we
go on honey is our honeymoon. We did go on
(30:02):
a mini moon to a sick hotel in Utah. So
the weekend after we got married, we went for three
days and we stayed in a sick hotel, and then
we also camped for a couple of days. So it's
nice for me and nice for Andrew.
Speaker 3 (30:16):
Being a good wife. Well done.
Speaker 2 (30:18):
Listen, I know you think that I'm like this whole thing.
I grew up camping. I can, I can slum it.
I have literally backpacked in Patagonia. I have climbed mountains.
So you can stop right there with her as slander.
Speaker 4 (30:36):
So we've fucked off honeymoon ready because now we have
a kid to call and do anything.
Speaker 3 (30:45):
True.
Speaker 2 (30:46):
Oh my god, dump him with Bill and the rain
for a week and get out.
Speaker 3 (30:52):
Yeah. Wow, we'll see. I love that. Yeah, we'll see.
We'll see all right for dy honeywings.
Speaker 2 (31:00):
When you say every day, that's such a mell mell.
Speaker 3 (31:04):
We'll see. Every day is a honeymoon for Carli.
Speaker 4 (31:07):
Oh yeah, for Carly, Well, she does have a private chef.
So actually Carlie cooked loads last week for me. I
was very welcoming of it.
Speaker 3 (31:19):
Very What kind of food she did? Shrimp tacos? One
night she did, Oh my god, she did like this.
I don't know what it was. It was like a
I don't know, I can't remember. It was a fole.
It was really good.
Speaker 4 (31:33):
Sounds sounds great tonight though, can I take what making tonight?
I've marinated some mint lamb, some lamb with mint and
your source homemade marinade. I'm going to do lamb skewers
and was a big Mediterranean salad.
Speaker 3 (31:46):
Yeah. I like that. Yeah, thank you. That's the lash.
Did you watch any of the John Dee So?
Speaker 2 (32:01):
I watched just a teeny tiny bit of it that
happened to be we played a little bit of golf,
so there was it was like on in the golf
club and Chris got her up. Who I love. He
is one of my favorites. He's such an angel. And
it's really sweet that he won the John Deere because
he had written a letter to the tournament director of
four years ago to ask for an exemption to play
(32:23):
and they gave it to him, and it just yeah.
So I also love that he cries every time he wins.
Speaker 3 (32:28):
It's really it's so cute.
Speaker 4 (32:30):
I mean, more difference a year makes, by the way
he's won like what four five times now, it's insane.
Speaker 2 (32:36):
Yeah. Yeah, he's going to be defending it the Scottish
next week. But he won because or you know, he
could have gone to a playoff with Ben Coles, who knows.
But Ben Coles, who had the opportunity to win on eighteen,
rinsed it and made double bogie and so Chris got
her up then wins the golf tournament. But oh my gosh,
(32:59):
can you imagine you're coming down eighteen. All you need
to do is make par.
Speaker 4 (33:02):
And I have done that. Oh okay, so you can, yes,
thank you for that tue years of therapy down the trash. Okay,
I don't know about it, loads of times, loads of times,
loads of times, loads of times. It's nove wracking. It's
(33:23):
it's if, I don't know. Sometimes it's not nove working.
Sometimes it is. It's a weird thing. You either like, oh,
I know I'm gonna this is not a problem. Like
I've had the lead going down the last and here
like great shots and then I think I've been tied
down the lead and just basically just handed it to them,
especially earlier on in my career. But yeah, it's mad.
It's really sad actually, because it's almost I don't know.
(33:46):
I always feel for players that do that. I think
it's because it's like my play ahead and I just
I always feel sorry for them more so than like,
oh bloody.
Speaker 3 (33:53):
I can't belief you did that. Like, I just feel
sorry for them.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
Of course, So it has to be the worst feeling
in the world.
Speaker 3 (34:00):
That you have one hand in the trophy.
Speaker 4 (34:01):
Yeah, but yeah, I'm a big fan of Chris as well.
Speaker 3 (34:05):
I think he's he's just lovely.
Speaker 4 (34:08):
I've had a couple of interactions with him, and he's
he's so sweet, and I just think he's a great
player and he's just the pure resilience and stuff.
Speaker 3 (34:15):
I just like him a lot. Sorry, if you can
hear my son having a meltdown.
Speaker 2 (34:18):
That's okay. Yeah, he's just like a regular guy from
New Jersey, Jersey Jersey Joysy Joysyjoisy Joys Jersey Nejisy come
to us for your New Jersey pronunciations. All right, what
(34:42):
else do you have on tap this week?
Speaker 4 (34:45):
Well, baby's breach. So that's fun. So we flipped him today.
Speaker 3 (34:50):
Have you ever heard of that?
Speaker 2 (34:52):
Mad Mads?
Speaker 4 (34:54):
The doctor literally just like flipped him.
Speaker 2 (34:58):
Oh that's looks great. So he's not anymore.
Speaker 3 (35:00):
No, it's heads down and where it should be.
Speaker 4 (35:02):
But obviously it's like you can go into like we
obviously were there for like four hours because just in
they have to make sure their premium is available and stuff
in case you have to have an emergency c section
if he gets like stressed out. Dude, it's the wildest
thing I've ever seen. Tell us more so basically a
bigger Dr Ramas over here in Fort Collins. She's amazing,
(35:24):
she is, so I was kind of looking at Okay,
so she explained the procedure. Basically, she just maneuvers him
with like her hands like but really puts a lot
of pressure on her and.
Speaker 2 (35:35):
This incredible stomach or load.
Speaker 4 (35:38):
She's like, no, loaded on it and then spins it
like just just get on the outside.
Speaker 2 (35:46):
Oh yeah, hang her hands up there now maneuvering the placenta.
Speaker 3 (35:51):
No, no, no, okay.
Speaker 4 (35:52):
And so I obviously knew this was going to have
like when we went to host school today and I'm
like looking at a forums, I'm like, holy shit, she's
like strong, she's not big, and I might have four
hours are massive like a golfer. And she said, look,
it's uncomfortable, but I don't think you're going to need
any gasnares or whatever an epidural. I was like, no,
I'm a badass and took up my way twenty seconds
(36:13):
and flipped him completely mad and you take his head lego. Wow,
it's sad. So uh, why so I don't know anything
about this? Why would they flip him now? Because we
wanted so it was an option. So we could either
(36:34):
have a sea section scheduled a week before the due date,
so thirty nine weeks she's at thirty seven and a half,
or we could try and manually flip him so that
she goes into a natural labor.
Speaker 2 (36:45):
Okay, so would that be anytime she.
Speaker 4 (36:48):
Could technically yeah, because she's almost thirty eight weeks. Yeah, okay,
so it could be so that it doesn't have to
now be potentially a sea section. Obviously things could still
go wrong, and it would if you was going to
say a breach back. He can she's wearing like a
big girdle thing.
Speaker 3 (37:05):
Is it a girdle. It's not airdle. I don't know,
what's the thing right that? Oh like back in the
olden days.
Speaker 4 (37:12):
Corset of course it okay, yeah, yeah, So she's wearing
that to try and keep him down just for like
forty eight hours or something. He obviously can still potentially flip,
and we've got a point on Thursday, we'll know if
he's flipped. And if he's flipped back the little bugger,
then obviously we're gonna have a see section like a week.
Speaker 3 (37:28):
But if not, it's a bit of a lot of feeling.
If she yeah, she'll feel it, Yeah, she'll feel feel
where his head is.
Speaker 4 (37:34):
Yeah, but yeah, he just just went like that and
he just stayed there.
Speaker 3 (37:40):
Who's chill?
Speaker 2 (37:42):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (37:43):
Yeah, so we're getting your little buddy, I know. So
we're getting closer.
Speaker 2 (37:47):
Oh my gosh, I know.
Speaker 4 (37:49):
But obviously now that she has now it could just
be a normal labor but she obviously she won't go
more than forty one weeks for example, like forty one
weeks is the deadline, so hopefully because obviously with car
we had again do so I kind of want to
see like her wall break and stuff. I don't know,
I just would quite like to see like the natural
experience of it, and so does she. She wants it
to happen naturally, so we shall see obviously.
Speaker 2 (38:11):
Oh my gosh, that's exciting. Do you feel like you're
ready within everything that you need at home?
Speaker 4 (38:17):
Yes, yes, we've we've because obviously we had to pack
the dive bag and stuff today in like an overnight
bag just in case.
Speaker 3 (38:23):
But I've done all the.
Speaker 4 (38:23):
Car seats, I've cleaned all the car old car seats,
did all that. I've got the dress ro. I just
need to paint his rooms all I have to do
and put some pictures up. But everything else, we're pretty
much there. We've got new light, a couple.
Speaker 3 (38:36):
Of new clothes.
Speaker 4 (38:39):
Yeah, so we've just got a couple of new things,
but we're basically just using Kai stuff.
Speaker 3 (38:44):
Yes, yeah, why why not? Yeah? But everything's good. We're
ready to go.
Speaker 2 (38:48):
Oh my gosh, that's so exciting. Okay, so next week,
if I'm doing a solo episode, you would know why people.
Speaker 3 (38:54):
Know I yeah, which is yeah.
Speaker 4 (38:57):
So today I was like, let you I almost text you. No,
I'll just text you if she goes into it, if
she goes into Laby, I'll.
Speaker 2 (39:02):
Just text you see, we're gonna.
Speaker 3 (39:04):
Have to push this back.
Speaker 2 (39:05):
We're not going to be able to do the episode today.
Speaker 4 (39:07):
My wife is My wife is literally just something's just
come out of her.
Speaker 2 (39:12):
Yeah, yeah, I love you were like, yeah, I think
it should be fine.
Speaker 4 (39:18):
Yeah, fine, Yeah, we're in there for a long time.
Luckily there's a TV in there, so I could watch
the Spain portical match.
Speaker 3 (39:24):
Thank god? Who won that Spain one nil?
Speaker 2 (39:29):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (39:29):
Do you know who plays for Portugal? You name any player?
Speaker 2 (39:32):
Uh rinaldo?
Speaker 3 (39:34):
Yes, good girl, well done?
Speaker 2 (39:37):
And you know why I know that because I love
his wife.
Speaker 4 (39:43):
Literally, maybe one of those Georgina. He's one of the
most famous athletes whatever.
Speaker 2 (39:51):
Seen one foot players, see them all.
Speaker 4 (39:54):
Exactly when we go to Winwood and stuff, I have
to tell you to could you stay a little bit longer?
Speaker 3 (39:59):
And I have.
Speaker 2 (40:01):
I would. I would love that pause. I love Earling
Holland Holland whatever his name is, the Norwegian guy.
Speaker 5 (40:11):
Holland Holland. I was said it right, okay, Holand Harland. Yeah,
I am obsessed. He just he's just so Game of
Thrones biking. Just can you mentione how terrifying that would be?
Speaker 2 (40:24):
This is why it would be bad at soccer because
of somebody like that was right.
Speaker 4 (40:29):
He's got his hair is like the most conditioned thing
I've ever seen.
Speaker 2 (40:33):
Well he's have you seen all the content about his
what he eats. He livor and salmon and you know,
doesn't drink and it's just this perpet human specimen is
red light therapy.
Speaker 4 (40:47):
So Jack Greenish, who actually plays for Man City with
him or did whatever.
Speaker 3 (40:50):
I don't know if he's been transferred now, he said
that like after a match. Jack.
Speaker 4 (40:55):
Jack's a bit of a Jack the lad. He's just very,
very good at football. He would like have a few
beers with his mates. He's like no, like Harland would
just be in the ice bath like in his therapy,
like red light therapy and all this stuff.
Speaker 3 (41:06):
And he also gets all his food.
Speaker 4 (41:08):
Pretty much at the local farm down the road, so
he like supports the local farms.
Speaker 3 (41:11):
He's brilliant. Yeah, and his dad was a famous football
as well.
Speaker 4 (41:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (41:15):
I knew that. I knew that, But I just I
feel like he's so wholesome. He's also he's been playing
golf over in the UK kay in the US while
he's been in between matches and stuff. He is at
Sedgefield that's where PG Tour even is some other events,
some other players.
Speaker 3 (41:30):
Just a lad, just an absolute lead with beautiful hair.
So that's playing. That's who England are playing? Next? Is Norway? Okay?
Oh Saturday? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (41:42):
Oh so I can't for my guy Arling.
Speaker 3 (41:45):
No, m m okay, I'll do it quickly, okay, right.
Speaker 2 (41:55):
I just like him, he's so he looks so nice.
Speaker 3 (41:57):
Yeah, he's a good lad apparently.
Speaker 2 (42:00):
But also what's his face, Henry? It's great too, Harry, Harry.
Speaker 3 (42:05):
Fucking hell? Do you know?
Speaker 4 (42:07):
Want to know my shush of the week is calling
Harry Henry. It's my fucking stush of the week. Literally,
one of the best football players that ever come out
of our country and you call him Henry's it.
Speaker 2 (42:20):
Not from here? This looks American mindset possible, you know.
Speaker 3 (42:25):
Literally, what's his name?
Speaker 2 (42:26):
Henry, Henry, Henry, good lad, Henry.
Speaker 3 (42:29):
It's a good lad, that Henry.
Speaker 2 (42:31):
Yeah, Harry, Harry, Harry, Harry, Yeah, Harry Kaine sorry his name?
Speaker 3 (42:37):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (42:38):
Okay, yeah, So what have you got to speak?
Speaker 4 (42:42):
Well, actually no, we didn't talk about your event this week,
but it's up to you.
Speaker 2 (42:45):
Oh oh well, the Tahoe event is coming in please
watch it. It's so fun. I will be doing interviews
on seventeen with Smiley Gaffman, and we're going to have
Steph Curry, Charles Barkley, Colin Host, a bunch of other
Miles Taller blah blah blah, all these amazing funny people
and athletes. Jason playing athletes are people too, I guess,
(43:08):
but yes, he is playing, Okay, he is, so, you know,
not going on the honeymoon with with Travi and Tay
weird weird. But there will be a lot of people
at the American Century who were at the wedding.
Speaker 4 (43:25):
So so maybe I will be on full investigative supporter mode.
Speaker 3 (43:32):
That'd be great, thank you.
Speaker 2 (43:34):
I will report back next week. So you guys, if
you love Taylor Swift or care at all, even just
a little bit, it's gonna be a must listen.
Speaker 3 (43:44):
Cary is going to come up with the good so
I can tell.
Speaker 2 (43:46):
Yeah, I kind of maybe it would be great if
your baby was born so that you don't even show
up that episode, so I can talk about the wedding.
Speaker 4 (43:57):
Oh god, I'll speak to my wife.
Speaker 3 (44:00):
I'll speak to Kara.
Speaker 2 (44:02):
Is ready to go on this thing.
Speaker 3 (44:03):
Karen just needs a moment she's been waiting for literally
two years with this.
Speaker 2 (44:09):
Deep dive.
Speaker 3 (44:10):
Oh God, probably a fantastic episode.
Speaker 2 (44:17):
I'll save all this content for when I be by myself.
Speaker 3 (44:20):
An emergency episode.
Speaker 2 (44:22):
Yeah, emergency pod. Okay, is your shish of the week? Me? Still? Okay? Okay,
fair enough. My shish of the week is people in
Lake Tahoe who come up for the Fourth of July
weekend and go to public beaches and trash them and
leave a bunch like so insane, so insane. There's been
(44:45):
a huge public movement. The locals that you know are
outraged by this, obviously, So the day after the fourth
July there's a massive army of locals that are going
around every beach trying to clean up after the Fourth
of July paradygoers. I think some wild stuff happened down
at Newport Beach in California. People are like, why people
(45:08):
like this? I don't know, And it's like, why do
you have to ruin a good thing and set off
fireworks in a crowd. That's terrifying, especially in the world
we live in where people are start fun violence and
so and just trashing places. This is our home, our earth.
So sorry to get my green peace on you.
Speaker 4 (45:26):
But I know, I literally have such a conscience like
me and cart still got that. So, like, I don't know,
even if we skate to the beach, obviously, we clean
a pastuff obviously, and then if there's like trash by
the side of light the shouldn't garbage by the side
of the bin, I would literally.
Speaker 3 (45:39):
Pick it up again, just yeah, I would do it.
So I'm like, that's just gross.
Speaker 2 (45:44):
Yeah. So I don't know people that are feel entitled
to trash something that's so beautiful and that we have
so limited of. I think it is disgusting.
Speaker 4 (45:57):
Such glittering shush to being an asshole.
Speaker 2 (46:02):
Yeah that too. Okay, go Usa, go good, good job, Kira.
Speaker 4 (46:08):
We like it.
